"Prologue"
Sun light darted across the room through the slight parting in the curtain which hid the bright white reflection of the snowy surface outside. As the ray of light moved across the rooms floor it rose to Qin's tightly shut eyes, making it difficult not to open them. "Ten more minutes" He said sleepy as attempted to escape the bright light which disturbed his slumber. He rolled over only to find that their was no mattress there to keep him in comfort. A meaty thud echoed through the room as his body slammed down on the wooden floor below. "Ooow... Alright I'm up, I'm up" he said as he nursed the side of his face and climbed to his feet with an annoyed grown.
An elderly man chuckled from outside Qin's room and politely knocked. "Better Hurry up Kai... The others have already assembled at the front in order wish you good luck on your travels." Master Ozin, best known as the snow haired Qin's mentor, spoke with a deep yet jolly tone of voice, giving a clear indication of his warmth as a person. Their was, however no time for Qin to ponder his mentors words. Realization struck him like a brick wall. "I'M LATE!?" With embarrassment in his belly, Kai darted around his room collecting all the necessities for the trip and at the same time, hopped about on one foot as he struggled to get dressed. "How can I be late for my own send-off? I SHOULD HAVE PACKED LAST NIGHT, GAH!" The same warm chuckle from before could be heard slowly disappearing down the hallway. Leaving the sounds of crashes, thuds and other strange sounds to rattle off in the room...
After a few minutes, Kai finally managed to get himself together and with a hurried effort, he slid into the temples main hall like Bambi trying to find his footing on ice. "I'm here, I'm here!" He spoke in a rushed and out of breath voice as the huge bag on his back wobbled about, causing snickers to erupt from the crowd before him. Kai straightened himself out right-quick and tried to play it off with one of his soft smiles. Luckily Master Ozin was their to give him a pat on the shoulder for reassurance. "Today we send off one of our own. We have watched Kai grow from strength to strength but as the saying goes. Adventurous spirits need room to spread their wings." Ozin smiled down at Kai and gently squeezed his shoulder causing the young man to snicker slightly in response. "It will be difficult to watch you go Kai but I know just as everyone else here. You will go out to do great things. All you have to do, is keep us in your heart and remember the things you've been taught." Kai nodded and walked through the center of the crowd alongside his master. Each individual in the crowed said their goodbyes and hollered as they reached the Temples exit.
Kai grinned widely at the sight of the outside. It was indeed one of the best days, their temple had seen in weeks. Soft snow on the ground gleamed a bright white and the air while cold enough to cause faint clouds of vapor to exit from their nostrils was not stinging to skin. The young mans attention was brought back to his master for last time when the jolly voice rang in his ears. "Kai, I have one last gift to bestow upon you before you make your way out." Qin looked up at Ozin with curiosity, his brows rising as his master reached into the pocket of his robe and revealed a small envelope. "On the night that the temple took you in. This letter was neatly placed within the folds of the blanket you where in. On the back it said not to reveal it to you till we thought the time was right... I believe there is no better time than now." His old wrinkled hand gently handed it over to Kai before slipping back into the sleeve of his traditional robes. "Perhaps you will find what you are looking for within the letter... I wish you luck on your travels, my boy" With one last smile, Ozin turned back to the temple and the doors slowly closed behind him. Kai stared at the letter for a few seconds before deciding to gently open it.
As the parchment unfolded, he read.
Dear Son
I realize that there will be no way to make up for your father and my absence in your life but our reasoning is just.
You might not have realized it just yet, or maybe you have but you are not human. You belong to a strong elemental race
known as the Elemi. Our home world has been deemed unlivable for millenniums and while it might seem like a hopeless dream,
some of us believe that we can, one day cure the planet and resurrect our home but in order to accomplish this goal we must find help from other planets
It's for this very reason that we could not allow you to come. The task alone is a huge one and a dangerous one at that.
We both could not bare the idea of harm coming to you thus opted to leave you with people we knew would take care of you
and love you as we do. We did it purely to keep you safe. Perhaps one day we will meet but for now it is to risky. The advice I can give you is to live on,
Remain strong and harness the power you hold within.
Love;
Mother and Father
P.S Look to the stars my sweet. We will always be watching

Shocked was the only explanation that came to mind with the look on the snow haired boys face. His hands shook as his eyes darted over the letter over and over again. "W-what?" The word slipped from his mouth in utter confusion leaving him in a cold stupor.
