Sora sat on the edge of the lookout, gazing down at the world below. This was the world Tomoroko's daughter protected eh? It was quite a sight to behold. It didn't have the posses the look of the world she was used to, but it did have its own natural beauty and of course, everything was alive here. She had taken a liking to this place in her short time here. A good perk to serving under the Western Surpreme Kai is that you were expected to try and enjoy yourself, with only serious objectives calling for otherwise. The oni was to assist Tomoroko's daughter, the kami of earth, as well as give her any information She required. She was also to do what she could to ease her mind until a certain someone arrived later on. Sora assumed that meant she could use same trick she used to help Rumia when things got to her, but she would have to get the Kami's permission before they went switching skins and the like. She was sure the knight could use the possible stress relief being 'being someone else' Could bring. For now though she supposed she should simply try to take it one step st a time. Try to ease Atsuko's mind, provide enough and then maybe... the old switcharoo so that hopefully Inoue could enjoy herself some.
Speaking of the oni eyed the armored girl as she approached for their arranged meeting. Much like the earth she protected Inoue possessed a certain beauty to herself, one outlined by her tough appearance and knightly form.... it was much more than just her power level. She simply fit the position she was given, which made sense when she thought about, most did. She offered the kami a neutral smile as she approached and rose to a standing position to offer a hand in greeting.
"Hello Kami Inoue, thank you for coming to see me. I don't believe we've really had a chance to talk outside my intial arrival have we? You know why I am here so... is their anything you require? I'm at your service, as is my duty imparted to me-for both combat and informational purposes. As well as.... just to talk"

[Thread PL: 484,417 base. Using Mansion for 50% bonus!]
Atsuko had felt the strength sapped out of her for a little while, at least in regards to the constant training she was doing... The truth was, she was one of the strongest beings alive right now, and she had been refusing to see that for awhile. Mostly because she had so effortlessly lost to Nasu, and that was a blow to her pride and her fears that she couldn't handle... One man was able to stop her and nearly destroyed not only Earth, but came so incredibly close to ushering in an era of chaos for the entire Universe.
If Atsuko had thought that all was lost, she would have been working for Nakiya right now... She almost did. Something managed to pull her back from that, maybe it was Excalibur. Maybe on some level she knew that it was still wrong. But one thing was for certain, the Saiyan Alliance couldn't afford anymore risks like that if they truly wanted to be allies with Earth. Komatsu seemed to be the only one to understand this, and they had finally managed to resolve their differences over the course of several arguments, and the intervention of Micaela, the Previous Guardian of Earth.
So... The Knight was merely resting from it all. The exhaustion she felt from her loss, her constant training, the stress. Everything that was weighing her down had finally been lifted, and she was able to let herself recuperate physically and mentally; she wouldn't make any promises that she could just cast aside her hatred of the Saiyans... But she was getting better. That was a start. The Albino Saiyan was eventually called out of her thoughts as she walked around the Timeless Lookout, by none other than the Oni that was sent to help her with all of this.
The Saiyan smiled lightly, and returned the greeting gesture. "Hey... Sorry about keeping you in the dark for so long, I had a lot on my mind.", the Knight would openly admit. "But things are starting to get better now.", she added. Atsuko opted to then look out towards the Earth, it was always such a relaxing sight... With Far Seeing Arts, she was able to take in the beauty of the entire planet at her leisure, never having to move from her home. Of course, that wasn't the only reason she had such a skill, but the benefits, right?
"The Previous Guardian of Earth came back... My Mother, in other words. Adopted Mother, in any case.", she began to explain. "It was due to her help that Komatsu and I were able to resolve all of our issues. It's still a little rough... We're trying to figure everything out, and we still have to be careful with what we say, but we're getting there.", the Saiyan explained in a calm tone of voice. "I don't know how the other Saiyans will act. Whether or not peace is actually possible... But I'll give them a chance, for Natto and Tomoroko. Komatsu, too."
She added. The Knight would then let out a sigh. "Although in regards to the Demon Queen, the Sorcerer, and even the God King... We haven't decided what to do. Although Komatsu has challenged Jarvis to a duel, and he asked for my help. I allowed him the use of the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, I just hope it will be enough.... Nasu is going to use this opportunity to strike at the Cerulean Empire while Jarvis is distracted. I have a feeling that this is going to spark the war. Not just between the Alliance and the Empire."
Atsuko continued. "...The Demon Queen cares a lot for Jarvis. I have a feeling that this will cause her to become more active as well. Abzerute is apparently still marking individuals whenever he can, and I just have this... Foreboding feeling, that something else is about to happen. Our enemies are growing in number and strength, and the Saiyan Alliance is too stubborn to see that this might trigger all out war between all factions. I've shared my concerns with Komatsu, but there's only so much he can do. He agrees that it isn't the right thing to do, at the very least..."
The Albino Saiyan would finally glance over to Soragami once more. "Once I'm done resting, I need to return to my training... I'll need to be prepared for the future battles.", she paused for a moment. "There's a decent chance that your Master may already know all of this... But I wanted to tell you, so that you might share it with her in turn in the event I am wrong. Whatever she decides to do with this information is of her own choice, regardless.", the Albino Saiyan then added. It was rather long winded, yes...
But Soragami came here to help, and to act as a link between the Living Realm and the Supreme Kai she worked with, so this offered her the opportunity to do exactly that. Still, that was all of the business out of the way. Maybe it was time for them to actually just... Talk. Soragami seemed nice enough, and the Knight could openly admit that she'd never met or even heard of an Oni before. At least, not before she came to the Timeless Lookout and read through a portion of the archives available. So with that in mind...
"But, that concludes business... How have you been adjusting to Earth?", Atsuko asked, a little curious of an outsider's perspective. At least, one that wasn't a Saiyan. She already knew full well what her race thought of Earth and it's people... Even if Komatsu would swear up and down that not all of them thought that way, she only had her present interactions and observations to go off of. Still, it was neither here nor there, and she would keep herself from badmouthing the Saiyans any further; only pointing out the facts of what had happened. If they couldn't handle that much...
Then they should work to change themselves more. It was as simple as that.

Sora simply gave a light chuckle at Atsuko's apology. She seemed to attract Masters like this, the kind of people that made something as simple as not speaking to someone a thing to be sorry about. Rumia was much the same way. It was.not her concern, she was here to help the kami, not the other way around. As much having information from her wouldn't make her more effective at her job Atsuko was by no means required to do so. Sora was a warrior, she would fulfill her mission regardless.
"No need to fret, it dosn't bother me, it's not your responsibility. Take as long as you need, I'm not going anywhere anytime soon"
She would nod as Atsuko continued to speak, a light smile formed with the news. It was pleasant to know that Atsuko was getting better. She hadn't been here long but the girl had been through a lot from what Rumia told her, besides that she seemed more than a little stressed around the lookout lately. It was good that she was recovering. Perhaps she could help in the same way that she helped Rumia back in otherworld when the stress got to her.... of course she would have to inquire further, in order to assure it was the proper course to take. Sora, knowing Atsuko's mother to be dead and in training back home was at first confused by Atsuko's words, at least until she mentioned the 'adopted' part. Ah right, the previous guardian, the one who raised Atsuko in Tomoroko's place. That made a considerable deal more sense. So she was active again? She knew she wasn't dead... her name wasn't in Yenma's records. Hmmm.... what had the woman been up to until now? Perhaps she could ask later, not like she was going to Otherworld anytime soon, ether one of them.
"A wise decision Inoue, I am glad you were able to come to terms regarding them. Hate only clouds a warrior to the world around them in the end. Although unstable, they are not the greatest threat to the universe. Though their leader.... your other brother correct? Quite the interesting piece of work, that one. Will you be able to do the same with him?"
Sora's words were not forceful, but simply spoken in a cold sore of neutrality. It was a simple question with all the complicated answers in the world. It was not her intention to upset Atsuko, far from it. But if she wished to deal with the alliance that rather unstable being was par and par with it.
"Regardless, I'm sure Natto and Tomo are thankful"
Sora gave a heavy sigh in response to the kamis next words. So that was it then. It was good they were trying to deal with Jarvis, even if the subject needed a more permanent solution. Simply killing him would not do the trick, with his power he would simply escape the bonds of the afterlife in time. Perhaps a seal? Or perhaps Caesar held some semblance of honor, and would simply stop if he lost the duel. She very much doubted it though.
"Do not rush yourself.... such imbalances should be dealt with in the proper manner, jumping the gun will only result in more pain. Besides.... one must consider the personal feelings of those that met her, such as you. You acknowledge her as an enemy... but I doubt its so easy to actually do it, so I would advise not jumping the gun, though it is my duty to follow you if you do. Now... this plan to deal with the brother killer, do you believe it will be an effective one? Komatsu would need to gain quite the spark of power if I don't miss my mark"
Yes... the God king Caesar had killed Rumia's brother, who also happened to be the supreme kai of this quadrant.
"War... it's never wanted, yet always comes. I believe your right in that assumption. I very much doubt Caesars people will simply sit back and take the attack, I'd say the chances of war... are high all around. The imbalances are as such for a reason, their actions are almost guaranteed to bring discord in their wake. War is fun for no sane man, but anyone will flock to it under the right cause, it's a unfortunate truth, but one we must live with I suppose. At the very least your brother listened, that should help some, I would imagine"
And with that all the suffering.and confusion that followed, it would not be a pleasant sight.
She would simply shake her head at Atsuko's next words, a knowing smirk on her face as she gave a brief whistle.
"Speaking of training... if.all goes well you may have another visitor in the next few days, she talks about wanting to see you quite a bit lately, from what my master says. Perhaps.... you should wait on her"
She then nodded again as she continued.
"Kai's can see a lot, but despite popular belief they are not all knowing, I will contact her later on today"
Having concluded their more serious business Atsuko would proceed to ask her opinion of the earth, to which she responded by looking over the lookout for more before answering. It wasn't obvious?
"I can see why you and the others that reside on this planet fight so hard to protect it, ot is a beautiful place, with a lot to show those that come here"
After answering her question Soragami decided it was time to as one of her own. Turning to face Atsuko began her explanation in a matter of fact tone.
"Atsuko, if you are still stressed I have a technique I often use to help Rumia in these situations. It will be... quite the experience, but if I may be so bold I think you need a bit of entertainment in your life, somethin to melt away some of that stress.... this technique can allow that, if you permit it"
Sora would simply remain silent of Atsuko denied her offer. However if she accepted a rare grin would cross Sora's face as she gathered energy around them, forming a small dome that enveloped their bodies for a brief moment. Quite a surprise was on the way for the kami.
But only if she accepted.

(Attempting to use Sora's 'Change Now!' Tech, but only if given permission from Atsuko)
Soragami opened with a light chuckle in response to Atsuko's apology about being so busy. Was this sort of thing a common occurrence for her? The Knight couldn't help but be a little curious about it, but it was enough to cause her to relax a little despite her curiosity. It wasn't a mean spirited chuckle, so there was that at least. "Still, I feel as though I should be an accommodating host, and I must admit that it seems I'm doing a poor job as such.", the Knight would respond. But if the Oni really felt that it was fine...
The Knight wouldn't press on the issue. So their subject turned to the Saiyans, which made sense as Atsuko had brought them up. The Oni seemed to approve of the Albino Saiyan discarding her hate for her people, as it was something that clouded a Warrior. It made sense, even though Saiyans tended to use that emotion to grasp hold of their greatest powers... She didn't need to do that anymore, certainly not after so effectively mastering the third Super Saiyan form. It was difficult to describe, but she felt so attuned to it, it was like a new base form.
She felt that way about all of her transformations now, but that one most especially. The only reason she was able to use her emotions as fuel was because of her trauma and unstable state. That was changing now, even if slowly. But it wasn't all a pleasant conversation; Soragami asked if Atsuko would be able to do the same for their leader. That... Was a difficult question. The Saiyan merely lets out a sigh in response to that. "Unfortunately, I cannot. He has committed the greatest crime. To so foolishly allow himself to be reeled in by Abzerute's power..."
The Knight began. Surprisingly, she was remaining rather calm however. "Then he marched towards Earth with an army in tow, and even after breaking free of the mark, his victory was more important than anything else. When our true enemy appeared to steal me away, he only saw his victory being stolen... Things could have gone much worse at that moment because of his actions. On a personal level, I can never forgive him for such a betrayal. He's lucky not to be at war with Life itself at this point.", the way she spoke, it was clear she held no affection for Nasu.
To the point of not even considering him a Brother anymore. "It is due to this that I have allowed the Saiyan Alliance a presence on Earth; even if only as Emissaries right now... But also to exile Nasu. He will never again set foot on Earth's soil, and it's people will never welcome him. He is as much as an outcast as I would be among the Alliance. No amount of fighting or power will change that, and if he violates his exile, it will spark a war. One that I will finish."
Komatsu would hate her for talking like that. But she would remain true to her word. Even he couldn't change that. Soragami then asked if the plan to have Komatsu duel Caesar would be an effective one. The Knight merely shook her head in response. "I can only see it going horribly. But Komatsu has already agreed to the duel, and a mark both on him and Jarvis has made it permanent. They must battle one day, and I can only hope that my little brother will be ready...", the Saiyan explained. Her tone of voice was still calm, but it didn't carry any hint of joy either.
"Because when that duel starts, Nasu will organize his army to attack the homeworld of the Cerulean Empire. There is no doubt in my mind that Jarvis will know right when it happens, and he'll lash out accordingly... I don't know what he'll do. But he will be like a beast, nothing to cage him... And he'll have nothing to lose. He could merely teleport to his world to defend it. Or he could use his full power in attempts to kill Komatsu on the spot. No matter how the duel plays out..."
The Knight sighed once more. "He won't abide by the terms. Jarvis will have no reason to keep peace for one hundred years even if Komatsu wins. Because the Alliance used such a cowardly and dishonorable tactic... So soon after what they did to me, too...", she tried not to linger on that. She tried not to hate the Saiyans. But putting all that trauma behind her was difficult. In the end, all she could do was agree that war was a horrible thing. Thankfully, their conversation would change subjects once more, as Soragami mentioned understanding why Atsuko fought so hard to protect Earth.
The Oni then mentioned that she had a technique that she often used to help her Master with stress, and she was willing to use it right now to help the Albino Saiyan, if permitted of course. The Knight arched a brow. Just what was the technique? She was a little curious. "Well... I don't wish to seem rude, but I'm curious what the technique is. Could you tell me more about it?", the Albino Saiyan inquired. But hey, if it was going to reduce stress, it might be a nice thing to do either way.
"I suppose I don't mind, though. Given that you work for a Supreme Kai, it's not like I have a reason to distrust you.", with that, an energy would began to envelope the pair. The Knight closed her eyes in response, it was a tad bright for her tastes... But maybe it was like meditation? You often closed your eyes to do that. This could be a very advanced form of that, for all the Knight knew. So the Saiyan just waited patiently to see the results of this technique. This was rather exciting, in a way. A technique developed by an Oni!
One working for a Supreme Kai, no less!
WC: 1,012 Total WC: 2,028 ____________________ Atsuko has accepted and will fall under the effects of the 'Change Now!' technique!
Sora would attempt to leave their initial conversation there. Atsuko was handling herself surprisingly well all things considered. It seemed she was beginning to recover and even to some extent grow from her experiences. A girl could only take so much backstabbing, She didn't expect it to be easy for the Kami... but she was doing well so far. However Sora did not wish to push her to far to quick and as such decided it best to move on to a different subject-which was good because Atsuko seemed curious of the technique she wished to show her anyway. Well then... how to explain this to a mortal without scaring em away from the idea?
"Of course, it is a technique that to put it bluntly... allows one to see the world from another person's point of view, quite litterly. Rumia often has me employ it when she needs to get away of dosn't want to go to one of the kai meetings. You'd be surprised how much less they search for us Oni's! However... I'd prefer the rest stays a surprise for now. It is.... a bit fun I must admit to see how people react the first time"
Being granted permission by the Albino Saiyan the oni would then envelop the two in a bright energy. Slowly the pair would feel small things change, like their height their center of gravity and where they actually were... changes all to familiar to Soragami but Atsuko? Probably not so much. When it was All done and the energy dissipated Sora would stare over the body of the Kami, making sure the process had gone smoothly. She sure did wear a bit of armor didn't she? Fair amount of clothing all around come to think of it. She could feel what the kami usually felt in this form yes, but she had by no means taken her power. No that had gone with Atsuko... into her body. Speaking of which Sora turned to face the kami in question with a grin that probaly seemed quite foreign on the knight's face, at least lately.
"So how do you feel? Weird right? That's ok, people tend to the first time around! Rest assured you still have all the power and skill you possess in in this form..."
Sora-suko would point to herself to indicate whom she was talking about before continuing.
"It's simply been transferred along with your soul to my body, and vice versa. If I am correct... you probably couldn't access the super saiyan transformations since your not technically a saiyan right now.... however I don't think you would have much trouble releasing the energy for my own, Heck you could probably go higher, this is how the technique works.... and we can do it anytime you need! Sometimes it's just good to get away no?"
Sora would nod in a matter of fact way as she explained the technique in full to Atsuko. She would then stand back and watch how she reacted to the situation. She doubted she would be mad, but she was quote curious if she would feel the same way her master did regarding it.
The change was sudden, and it wasn't really anything that you could prepare for. Her center of gravity and even her overall balance changed entirely in a rather sudden moment, it was disorienting. It felt like all of her senses were in a haze, at that. Slowly, everything came back into order, after a few quick shakes of the head, in any case. Atsuko opens her eyes and after the blurry vision subsides, she comes to understand that she's standing in a different spot now. What was that technique? She did hear what Soragami had to say about it. Seeing the world from another person's point of view...
Eventually it dawned on her that the person she was looking at, the person right in front of her... It wasn't Soragami! Well... Technically, it was. The energy reading she felt confirmed that. But it wasn't Soragami! It was her own body. "E-... Eh?!", she let out in surprise. Even her voice sounded different now, which took her by surprise. Soragami mentioned that she wanted the rest of this to be a surprise, well... It certainly was! Finally, the Oni then began to speak, asking if it felt weird. Atsuko just gave a quick nod in response.
But then Soragami simply followed up with that it made sense for the first time around. "So I still have all of my power and skill...", she would mimic Soragami's words slightly. After that, the Oni began to explain more about the technique and it's uses. So Rumia often employed this sort of thing? That must have made for some interesting meetings... So of course, the only thing she couldn't do right now was transform into a Super Saiyan, given that she wasn't... Well, a Saiyan right now. That fact still took a little getting used to.
Atsuko began to look herself over, still taking a moment to adjust to the foreign body. "Whoa... I'm really not used to being this tall.", the Knight stated. After that, she glanced up to notice the single horn protruding from her forehead. "...That's gonna take some getting used to. Remind me to duck whenever there's a low ceiling or doorway.", she added. Still, after adjusting, she seemed to be taking to it fairly well. Although the Saiyan had to regulate her power a bit, as the sudden increase could prove to be taxing on Soragami's body. And.... Well, she'd rather not endanger the Oni.
"This is... Pretty different.", the Albino Saiyan then admitted. "Hmm... If I had to learn how to fight like this, I might be able to count on my mastered form of energy to help unlock greater amounts of power, just like with Super Saiyan... It'd still take some getting used to, though. I never thought I'd get to say something like this, but it's completely different from my own body.", the Saiyan then added. A small smile on her face, probably one that looked quite foreign to Soragami on her own face. Given that the Oni seemed to be more the type to grin widely.
"With this technique, I really could get away... If I were to suppress my energy, no one would know that it's me. I have to admit, it's pretty enticing. Maybe I'll make use of it sometime if things just get out of hand and I just need a little time to rest... Well, that's what I'd like to say, but I can't exactly stop my duties.", the Saiyan continued. Sure, it'd be nice to have a vacation, but in her absence something bad could happen, and that was just something she couldn't do.
That and, it's not like it was a permanent solution, Soragami likely wanted her own body back, and Atsuko would like to have hers back eventually as well. It would also be unreasonable to expect the Oni to take up her duties while she was resting, so as tempting as it was, Atsuko felt the obligation to refuse using it in that manner. Still... That definitely took her mind off of all of the trauma and stressful situations. It's hard to keep focused on all of that when you have a literal out of body experience.
"Still... I think this helped. I don't feel tired in this body, either... Ah, about that. If you feel fatigue I was sort of... Pushing myself a lot in training.", she then explained. Feeling a little sheepish as she hadn't really been taking care of herself very well. She was resting up now, sure. But there was just so much that she had gone through, and her recovery time had only started recently. So now the question was... What to do from here? Atsuko felt the first instinct to try and see what powers she could unlock in this body.
But she wanted to be mindful of that, constant training was what wore down her 'first body' in the first place. "Heh, so... What should I do now? I have to admit that I'm at a bit of a loss. I don't think I should go right back to training, even if I'm curious of what an Oni can do at full power.", she inquired. There was also the chance that Atsuko couldn't unlock the highest transformation anyway. Her power was pretty significant, but every race was different. Maybe the full potential of an Oni required more than what she had right now.
Which was... Rather surprising to admit. Given that she had mastered the third Super Saiyan form and all. The peak of power, or so she believed it to be. It's possible that there were other forms still yet untapped by any Saiyan. Maybe she could glance through the archives on the Timeless Lookout to try and find out something... She needed something new to aspire to, after all. Something a little more positive than 'being stronger than Nasu'. Besides, she had already accomplished that. She had an impressive lead on her older brother now. But, in any case, she'd wait to hear what Soragami would have to say.
Atsuko seemed quite surprised by the change. But really that was to be expected. It wasn't everyday that one was thrust into the body of another after all. Personally it had been a while She herself had done it with anyone bit Rumia. She had also never shifted bodied with a saiyan. As such if Atsuko were to watch her body she would notice the oni taking considerable interest as she looked it over piece by piece, even letting the tail that usually lay under her armor and clothes free to hang out. Yes Atsuko was quite cute as well. Perhaps she should bring her back to Otherworld for Rumia... or convince the kai to come herself. It had been a long time sense the incident with Mrs Dawn... Rumia had yet to move on completely from it. Perhaps if she could bring another kind spirit into her life.... someone like Atsuko... well, she would just have to see how things developed wouldn't she? Besides if the Kami already possessed a mate it was not to her right to intrude upon that relationship ether. Still it was at least something to come in mind, if it could make her master happy.
In other news Atsuko was as expected quite the intelligent woman, especially in regards to training and combat. She was unused to the form she now possessed, yet already she was contemplating different ways to use her energy in that body. It was quite amusing to listen to her creative approach, as well as ones regarding the oni's body itself. Sora would chuckle with Atsuko's voice. Despite not being used to the form the Kami did seem to be enjoying it a little, in her own way. That was good, she had been through a lot lately-she deserved it
"Yes, it quite the interesting experience isn't it? Like seeing things a whole new way... and yes, it's also good at poking eyes out"
Sora would chuckle at her little joke. Out of the myriad of things she could have noticed... she supposed it would make sense that her horn was one of them. She was normally so focused on training and protecting earth. It was nice to see her loosen up a bit, even if only about her horn.
"Yes, we Oni are natural denizens of Otherworld. I imagine our bodies feel quite different, as well as have quite a few features a saiyans don't. Though I must admit the same holds true of a saiyan...."
Sora would emphasize her point by wagging Atusko's freed tail back and forth in the air, herself leaning down in the process as she faced her body with a grin. The oni warrior would frown however as Atsuko seemed to refuse her offer of continuing to use the technique.
"I think you misunderstand the purpose of this technique Mrs Inoue. My master does not use it to runaway or shirk he duties, the meetings she ignores are not important ones, and tend to just be the annual meet ups... this technique allows someone a break and a chance to gain relief from their rather strenuous life by giving them an escape through me, for however long they need that to be. What they do during that time... I am unconcerned about. My body should be able to handle anything short of ripping it apart with energy. I am not saying you should run away from your duty Inoue. I am simply offering you a break, whenever you wish it, for however long you wish-That is the purpose of this technique, how you use it is quite up to you, even if it be for a few minutes.... or to play around with others"
Sora would give a wider grin as she finished her explanation to Atsuko. She felt she had now properly conveyed the use she intended for this ability, how Atsuko utilised it was entirely up to her. She was glad that, despite her decision this first use had helped awesome of the stress and trauma she had been through. That purpose still happened it seemed. Now that she mentioned it... She hadn't noticed in the heat of the body swap but this body did have quite a bit of fatigue with it now that she stopped. She could feel how tired it was. Atsuko... She really was pushing herself to the limit wasn't she? She should stop, take some breaks like She was now! To much training and physical stress could be bad to.
"Yeah... you've really been pushing yourself huh? How about I give your body a spa weekand hmmm?"
She was joking of course, but that didn't.change the fact her body defiantly needed something like that. Sheeh she knew it was important that the earthling defenders get strong, by they didn't have to breaking themselves in.the process! Atsuko would then ask what she was to do in her body. Now that was an interesting question wasn't it?
"You do as you wish Master Inoue. While in my body, much like me myself I am at your disposal to with as you wish. If trying to tsp into the powers with an Oni is what would help you have some fun then by all means do so. In exchange... I could switch out of this armor and see what clothes this body looks cutest in"
Again she was joking, but the Oni's typical way of speaking was usually so monotone and serious that it was hard to tell when she was joking.
Still this woman Atsuko. She had first beloved that Rumia had sent her here to reinforce her defenders. However given the power of the Earthlings and her speaking with the Kami now she was convinced it was for much more personal reasons. Rumia had a habit of not wanting people she knew to suffer.
Kai's sad a lot and she had to wonder, did Rumia know that this would happen?
Atsuko laughed a little at Soragami's jest involving the horn. Well, it certainly looked sharp enough for that purpose... Although, the Albino Saiyan had no intentions of using it that way, either. If only because she didn't want to risk breaking it. In fact, a certain level of her wanted to treat this body with respect as it obviously didn't belong to her. Even though the Oni likely wouldn't mind, it was still a principle of the matter. "Seems like it'd be a little hard to aim for that... But then again, it looks sharp enough to not really matter."
The Albino Saiyan would respond. Then Soragami began to explain why the Onis were so different; they were inhabitants of Other World, so it of course made sense that they were unlike any mortal race. That much was certainly true, the very few Oni to come to the mortal realm were documented mostly as mythical creatures. The Timeless Lookout was one of the few places to have extensive knowledge on them, and, in turn the Kais as well. It was just something that came with the position of being a Guardian of Earth. Access to the Other World was a necessary thing.
So that the Guardian may vouch for notable Warriors that prove worthy in the line of defense for all that was Just. Of course, what interrupted her line of thought here was Soragami allowing the white tail to flow freely from underneath the protective shell it had. "You know... There's been some days where I still question why I've kept the tail.", the Knight admitted. "...Do you think it's wrong that I feel ashamed about my race? They're nothing like me, and they seem to stand opposed to all of my ideals, both as a person and as a Guardian..."
The Saiyan continued. Her tone of voice was a little sad now, but she seemed fairly well composed, all things considered. Still, at least they weren't dwelling on this too much, as Soragami then pointed out the real uses regarding the technique. Ah, so Rumia wasn't the type to abandon anything important, she just sometimes needed a bit of time away from it in order to rest, or just have fun. That made sense, although it was odd to consider that something as important as a Kai would be doing that. Well, there really were exceptions everywhere, hmm?
"Well, I suppose if nothing is particularly going on, I could certainly play around with it a little.... I'll keep the offer in mind, then.", the Saiyan would reply. A part of her was mostly worried about being caught unprepared. Being trapped in a body not used to this level of energy, and not being able to tap into the full power that it had to offer... Well, that would be pretty bad considering the line of work she was in, and the type of trouble that stalked Earth at any given moment. Which of course prompted Soragami to comment on how exhausted the Saiyan's body was.
"Ah, yeah... After that duel with Nasu, I felt compelled to improve myself. I lost so effortlessly to him... Just a single warrior was all it took, and that one moment could have spurred so many horrible things. I could be working with Nakiya right now, poised to enact genocide on the Saiyans.", the Knight stated, not without some shame however. "Or I could have succumbed to darker tendencies... Acting of my own volition, but no longer caring about my ideals, either. Only to strike down everyone in my path.", she added. It was clear how much it bothered her now.
"All because he needed his victory... I'll never understand why Komatsu defends him. All I can do is simply avoid the subject whenever he's here. I don't want to upset my little brother anymore. But what Nasu did to me... I don't think I can forgive it. Is that wrong of me?", she once more inquired. The Oni likely didn't hold all of the answers, and maybe meeting with Rumia somehow in order to discuss all of this would end up serving her interests better, but even so she felt compelled to ask.
All of it had been on her mind. The Knight spent so long merely distracting herself from the issues by training. But it was hard to forget when you're constantly faced with the source, too. Komatsu wasn't the one at fault, and she would never say that... But she couldn't lie that it brought her thoughts back onto the present matter, that was why it always turned out so explosive. It was no excuse for her to always take it out on him, but it was a very legitimate reason as to why she always did. She wasn't properly dealing with her emotions.
Now she was. Which in turn let her focus on recovering both physically and mentally. But it would still take time, she just hoped that everyone would be patient enough with her in that regard. "Ahh... I don't mean to dump all of these worries on you. I guess I'm just wondering what I should do anymore. There are times where I feel like I'm not fit to be a Guardian of Earth.", Atsuko pointed out. Maybe she was just overthinking it all. But who wouldn't in this exact situation? Especially as young as she was.
It felt like the Knight had been in at least ten wars, and she wasn't even that old yet. In many respects, she was still a young girl. Though her current form betrayed that particular image, it was still plain enough to see. The Knight was a prodigy, a fine enough one at that, but that sort of potential only took you so far, and her inexperience showed in her more vulnerable moments. She usually hid that away, but she was trusting Soragami enough to share those concerns. If only because she knew that the Oni would be discreet about it all.
For a moment the oni would remain silent, taking in what Atsuko had to say. It was amazing how much her two charges had in common. She had been mostly joking before but... perhaps they really did need to meet.
"Inoue... no, Atsuko? A long time ago my master... well she once hated being a Kai herself. She bonded with a hybrid born into our realm, something kai's are always taught not to do. To sympathize is weaken rational judgement, it is to mess with the choices one should make for balance. Your emotions are not meant to get in the way of your duty... you cannot cloud yourself, or else you lose your way"
Rumia would pause a moment, a saddened expression crossing her face.
"From the moment Rumia was born from the tree she was always emotional, munch more emotional than any kai before, perhaps that was why she was given watch over a quieter section of the galaxy, I'm rather unsure. Anyway... one day Rumia's kind nature got the better of her, and caused a lot of trouble for Otherworld in the process. She let one of her corrupted breathern into the heavenly point of Otherworld, having been convinced he would not harm anything"
Sora would sigh, shaking her head in the process. It was taking a while to get to the point, But she was getting there.
"As you can probably guess, the corrupted one did the exact opposite, causing havoc throughout the realm. Rumia was the only one with a technique capable of purging the creature completely but... she couldn't bring herself to do it, in her place the hybrid to whom she was bonded stood before the creature and used what was required to purge him. The cost was... her soul, her body was left behind as an empty shell. One that Rumia has around to this day. All she wanted.... all she asked of her kin was to find a away to restore her beloved. Ulimatly she was denied, any action that could bring the woman back would ultimately interfere with the balance of the universe and as suck could not be allowed"
It was time to finish it up she supposed...
"For a long time Rumia hated her station, hated her very race after that... it was what she what was born for, that ultimately prevented her from saving the one she cared for most. It is not the same as your situation, I realize this. But I feel that one day you would benefit from speaking with one another. No, I do not think it is wrong to be ashamed of your kin, but much like my master you will have to move past this shame... it will only hurt you in the end, cause you to make choices you shouldn't. I am... not your master and I have no right to command this of you bit it is... my opinion none the less. The way Rumia was able to get past it... She was not a 'Kai' she was Rumia. Atsuko... your race does not define you are not 'Saiyan' Heck, depending upon your opinion you might not even be 'Kimiko' you are Atsuko Inoue, a person and an individual before anything else. That is... what I can tell you, does that make any sense?"
The subject was turned back to her ability and Rumia would give a light nod at her answer. As long as she understood that's what was important. She would do as Atsuko wished regarding the use of the technique, but never the less thought it would be good for releaving her turmoils. To assist the Kami of Earth... ha, Rumia was emotional as ever. Soragami had somewhat misread her true intentions for sending.her here it seemed. That girl... she saw with a lot more than just her Kai Kai. With Atsuko's next words a rather stern look would cross Sora's face as she moved closer to her own body, placing the hands of Atsuko's body on her bodies shoulders.
"I could have done 'this' I could have done 'that' the point, in the end is you did not. You did not commit genocide against the saiyans. Nor did you lose your ideals. I have also yet to see the innocent marred by your own hands. Nasu was a rather chaotic element, and I can understand why it may be impossible for you to forgive him Inoue. However tell me what good dwelling on the past, what good telling yourself what you 'might' have done, tell me what good that does for your future. Because I see no benefit in dwelling for the rest of your life on what might have happened. You also could have been born and raised as Kamiko on planet Natto. You could have been on Natto's side when he attacked Earth. You could have never been raised by such a loving person as the former guardian of earth... or be Kami to begin with. What might have happened in the past does not matter Inoue, because the simple fact of the matter is it did not happen and now that it has passed... it never will. The future is what one should focus on, because that is the one thing you cam change"
Sora would gaze at the ground as she explained this, a rather serious expression on her face.
"Komatsu defends because that is the world he knows, that is what he was raised in, alongside his brother. Nasu is his family just as much as you are... I can only assume that in his eyes what he is doing is the right thing, Jarvis... the alliance... all of it. I... do not believe it is wrong of you to be unable to forgive Nasu for what he has done to you, but I do believe you should move past it. If Nasu shows up again... deal with him then. But do not let him hold a grip on your life and your emotions, when he is not even here!"
Soragami raised her voice near the end of her words, before immediately shaken her head and quieting herself back down.
"Because as long as he bears sway over your emotions... he will be able to hurt you, no matter how far away he is. If he comes deal with him but until them I must advise freeing yourself of his influence m'lady, you will feel much better."
Sora would give a single shake of the head at her next words, a response indicating her disagreement with the Kami.
"If you were not deserving of your station, then why would my master send me down to assist you? She's a very kind woman, but she's not very optimistic. And you... You don't have to worry about dumping anything on me, it's in the job description. I'm perfectly ok being your confident it that is what you and also"
Sora-Suko would give a bow towards her body, the form one of apology.
"I am sorry if I spoke out of turn earlier"

The Oni began to explain a little bit more about Rumia. Specifically that there was a point in time where she hated being a Kai. Really? That was something that proved to be surprising to the Knight, and she listened intently as Soragami explained further. So she had met someone, and developed a relationship with them... On a certain level, she could understand why this wasn't particularly allowed. But it seemed like there wasn't much stopping her, either. Atsuko certainly wouldn't take up such a task, this sort of job got lonely. And she had only been doing it for a few years.
For just a single planet. She could only imagine how much worse it was as a Kai... Especially one as emotional as Rumia apparently was... There were corrupted Kais? Well, technically there was Jarvis, so that made a bit of sense... But Kais that were 'born' could be corrupted too? Atsuko attempted not to dwell on that piece of information however, the Oni pointed out that Rumia had allowed one of her corrupted brethren to come to the Sacred World of the Kais under the promise that no harm would come to it. Which of course turned out to be a lie.
Of course, further tragedy would strike in the form of the one that Rumia loved resolving the matter, at the cost of her own soul. The Knight couldn't really think of what to say, it was just a horrible situation to be in... Rumia's hatred and anger was justified. But the way she was able to get over it was apparently coming to the conclusion that she was 'herself', not a Kai, or anything else. It was a message that was a bit confusing at first, but really thinking on it cleared up the meaning.
But all Atsuko could think about is, such a conclusion wouldn't make her any less lonely or less of an Outcast. A part of her wondered how Rumia was coping with that. Their conversation would then turn towards Nasu, and how the Albino Saiyan shouldn't let him hold such a sway over her life and emotions... It was true enough. Somehow her older brother was able to throw her entire life into chaos, and he wasn't even here. He wouldn't be back either, he was exiled from Earth. The next time they met, it would be a battle to the death.
Soragami then proceeded to apologize for speaking out of turn, but the Knight merely shook her head lightly. "It's alright. I just wanted to listen to what you had to say.", the Saiyan responded. There was a lot to go over... "If I have to be truthful... I don't know how she deals with that type of pain. I know that time helps, but to be in that position, that constant reminder. It has to be a living hell.", the Albino Saiyan commented. She hadn't met Rumia, or just how well she was actually coping with all of that...
But from what Soragami was saying, the Kai didn't hate her race or her position NOW. "I at least have a small grace of being able to distance myself from what has wronged me, but... Rumia really doesn't have that type of choice, does she? With such an outrageous ruling against someone who preserved balance, at that...", the Albino Saiyan's hands tightened into fists out of reflex. "They're so afraid that they won't even entertain the idea of trying to help her. That makes me sick...", the Albino Saiyan added. It could have been anyone that ended up just like that.
"It's not the exact same thing... But I know what that type of betrayal feels like. To just leave someone to die like that...", the Saiyan's expression clearly reflected anger at this point, although it was directed down towards the ground, showing that she wasn't angry with Soragami. "It makes me want to fight. I don't even know who or what, or even what it would accomplish. I just know that it's what I feel like doing.", the Albino Saiyan added. Pummeling the ones responsible would have been a good start. Soragami was right in that it wasn't entirely the same thing.
But Atsuko could still relate to this story, if only because Rumia had fallen in love with someone that had been ultimately left for dead... No less, that person fought to save lives. Some idea of 'Balance' prevented them from even trying to help her, even though it was precisely because of her that Balance had been preserved in the first place. "I guess that's just been my response to a lot of things, recently... Wanting to be strong enough to beat down everyone and everything wrong into submission.", the Knight stated. A part of her felt compelled to get right back into training.
"I know you said that I shouldn't let Nasu hold sway over me... But I couldn't stop him from doing anything, no matter how hard I fought. If I can't even stop one person, what good am I as a Guardian? I have to be strong enough to stop things like this from happening. The only way I can achieve that is by training.", she continued. It may have seemed like there wasn't a lot of progress being made, but the Oni had more or less just learned the entire reasoning that drove the Knight to push herself so much.
And now had the opportunity to try and change it, or at least help her through it. "Maybe it's just a way for me to cope... But it's the only way I know how.", Atsuko admitted. "If Rumia has some other way of coping... Maybe I should meet her some day. But a part of me doesn't want to bring all of this up either. I feel as though I would say the wrong things.", the Knight added. Finally, she had fallen silent once more. It ended up being a rather long conversation.
But she was actually able to talk with someone for a change, rather than just bottle it all up and train it away. It only got her so far. This was doing so much more.
Heh... she did. This young woman truly did understand Rumia quite well. Or at least that's what she thought from her reaction to Sora's story about the kai's past. Sora would give a firm nod in response to her words, tinkering around with the different parts of Atsuko's body as she did so. Nothin perversive of course, no the oni was just honestly curious how the kami was built. She was the earth's guardian after all.
"Now we get to the heart of the matter eh? The thing is... she deals with it by having as much fun as she can. When she can't well... that's one reason I step in to assist. If I can be perfectly frank. You two aren't very different in several respects. Though... you might find shes a bit more... playful, if you ever meet her. Hmmm.... her girlfriend, a hybrid named Dawn. Rumia has not been able to let go. Though her soul faded away, her body stayed, although empty. It is... still contained within the house on her planet. She simply... has not been able to let go of her feelings. Heh... even gods have those you know?"
Sora would pause for a moment as Atsuko continued. Nodding her agreement to the saiyan's words. Yes... they were very similar indeed.
"Yes, it is quite the upsetting situation. One that hurt Rumia for a long time. However consider this, is their any logical cost one could pay to retrieve something that is no longer there? And even if you could... would IT be the same soul as before? I do not condone their choice, for I care deeply for my master. However... Any cost that would retrieve Dawn's soul, it was simply to much of an imbalance to risk. Have you ever had something you wanted more than anything, but in your heart it just wasn't possible to obtain? That... is what Rumia feels I think. It is.... quite the disappointment, especially considering what Dawn did to put herself in that state You are correct Rumia can never escape that. You'd think a God would be able to get over losing something easily right? Well... it's been over a million years.... I doubt she'll ever truly get over her loss, to be frank"
Sora would give alight chuckle at Atsuko's next words, as if pulling at a latent memory, she then crossed the kami's arms and gave a light smirk in her direaction.
"You know, their are some among the residents of Otherworld that believe that's all mortals know how to do, fight and kill. That's another thing me and my master don't agree with. However I suppose it might be better to ask one than assume. What do you think? I feel as if... theirs so.much more to the denizens of the living realm than fighting, killing and betrayal for power... perhaps that's simply an ignorant notion on my part as well. After all their are the people like you that we believe in... and then one's such as Caesar or your brother. Perhaps they mean well, but the methods to reach their goals... are simply to chaotic"
A rather sullen expression would cross her face with the next subject. The oni within a saiyan would place her hands on Atsuko's shoulders, In an attempt to comfort her.
"Their is a lot more to strength than pure power, I will say that much. It is my not my place to tell you what to do, but it can't be healthy to train by yourself all hours of the day. You are still young, and you should consider more than fighting your way into an early grave don't you think? It does no one any good.... if your all alone. That is... no better than how my master ended up. As I said before Kami Inoue. I'd you were not a capable guardian I would not have been sent to help you, If anything for Rumia to send me here... you are quite exceptional, at least in her eyes, I think and I feel... you to would have a far more interesting conversation than you might think, perhaps you could come up with the perfect solution together"
The Oni would then step back and await the kami's answer, prepared to listen to any complaints or worries she might have.
If their was one thing the Oni warrior good at, it was listening.
So Rumia dealt with her problems by having as much fun as possible... It wasn't really a bad way to look at things, at least at a glance. But the Knight had to admit to a little bit of concern on just how much of it was a false smile; though according to Soragami's words, she stepped in whenever that became apparent. Well, that was good at least. Still, the Supreme Kai had a long time to adjust to this, find the right method to cope with it as best as she could. For the Saiyan, it was pure fighting and training.
But when the only other person that could give her a challenge was someone she wanted nothing to do with... Well, all she had left was training. Maybe it was her own fears that made it that much worse, as the Albino Saiyan felt compelled to train at every waking moment. Under the belief that she had to be strong enough to resolve it. In any case, a hybrid girlfriend named Dawn, huh? And the body was still kept... She couldn't disagree with that notion. Maybe someday there would be a method to bring her back. Although Atsuko would refrain from saying that.
"Honestly... I almost want to hug her when I see her.", the Saiyan admitted. It sounded like Rumia could honestly use one of those... Still, Soragami's words weren't without their merit. There was a reason that the Kais did not act to bring her back from that event. Still, Atsuko sighed lightly at it. "To be truthful... I don't really know what it's like to want something that badly. The only thing I've cared about is trying to be strong enough to defend Earth. I thought for a time that I managed it.", the Saiyan would explain.
"Evidently, being defeated by Nasu, and dumped into the Realm of Demons is a pretty good eye opener... I'm glad that none of the horrible events that could have happened took place, of course. But it reminds me that I need to do more if I want to prevent something like that from happening again.", the Albino Saiyan reasoned. Maybe it was just an excuse for her to train and ignore her problems. If all she did was constant, exhaustive training until she felt too tired to be angry... It wasn't really a way of coping, and she knew that.
But what was the alternative? Too many times she had taken her built up frustration out on those around her. In any case, the Oni then pointed out that some believed that was all the mortals knew how to do. "Well, I think there are exceptions as with everything; I'm certain not all Kais remain pure. Some may fall into corruption, perhaps? However unlikely, the chance is there. Just as there's a chance for someone like Rumia to come to be... I can't claim to be an expert on the subject, but if what you say is true, she's a bit of an exception to her people."
The Knight observed. "Mortals are like that, but on a much larger scale. There's a lot more of us, and we come from vastly different ways of life and upbringing... Here on Earth, most people live in peace, or fight as a hobby. There are some that do it for sport, or because they want power. It's the same anywhere else, but you might find the amounts to differ in each location.", the Knight stated. "Then there's some people like me... Fighting so that others don't have to.", Atsuko then added.
Soragami's next words were not lost on her, however. True, it probably wasn't very good for her to spend all of this time training, and trying to shoulder all of the fighting by herself. But the Knight simply knew no other way. A part of her felt wrong to bring others into such danger. "I suppose... It just feels like if I'm not the one that's going to fight for Earth, and protect it from all the evils out there in the Universe... Who will? There's only a scarce few here on Earth that have proven to be strong.", the Saiyan pointed out.
"And while I don't mean to take away from their strength, they are still outmatched by everything outside. Additionally, I feel as though that is my duty as a Guardian. To keep everyone safe, even if it means I have to fight everything alone at the cost of my own life.", the Knight would then cross her arms, musing on that... She never really was this open with anyone before. But she was sharing so much of her inner workings with Soragami. How would the conversation with Rumia go? It was something that made her very curious, to say the least.
Perhaps one day soon, they would meet and she could find out. "Well. Perhaps I can meet her soon. Maybe she'll be able to help me figure out what I should be doing from now on. I could do with a little guidance, to be honest...", the Knight would share that little secret. For so long she was just operating on what she thought was right, that was about all that anyone could do. But when the result was a Youth that was still struggling with her Saiyan side and her Earthling side, emotions drawn out by those around her...
Primarily the emotion of rage... It was a concerning prospect. Atsuko wondered in the back of her mind how many conversations were held about how reckless she was. Still, it's not like the Kais were really making an effort to speak to her; aside from Rumia that is. "So... What do think I should do from here on out? All I can think of is to keep training. Maybe I need to try and come up with other things that can be done.", the Albino Saiyan admits to the fact that her obsession with training is a fault.
A little bit of progress, born out of kindness of all things. Who would have thought that likely?
"Heh, to tell you the truth, she would probably enjoy such a hug were you meet, might do quite a bit, just don't hold it against her if she teases you a bit to, as you noted she is... very different from the norm for kais"
Sora would chuckle lightly at her words. For such a stern, knightly figure the Kami certainly had a great kindness to her as well. She seemed fully capable of emphasizing with others. Yes... that was truly a great trait to have. If Atsuko did meet her master she was certain they would get along well. Until then however she would have to do what she could to assist the kami, that's why she was here after all.
"Another reason you may not need 24/7 training. You have a lot of power from your training.... but how much have you trained having your own life, something outside your obligation to this planet. It is a beautiful place, with some truly unique people don't get me wrong. Perhaps it just isn't my place to interfere in you affairs. But if all you do is train, train to protect a singular thing and nothing else, or train to defeat your brother or Caesar... what then does that leave in your own life? Truly protecting what you care about is very important. But may I pose a question? I assume their are some on this planet you care about correct l? Are you protecting this planet because you want to, or because you feel you have to? That I think holds great significance towards what one should do"
The girl would grunt and shake her head at what was said next. Their was nothing wrong with training of course, nothing at all. But when you tied your training to close to your emotions as Atsuko was doing now it simply wasn't helping. It was an escape, to make her to tired to deal with it.
"I can agree that being forced into Makai was likely taught a great deal. Truthfully we are unable to see into that realm, so I don't know the specifics of what went on in there. Only that when you came out, corruption followed for a time. *sigh* I don't hold that event against you Atsuko, you had your reasons. I will not condemn you for them. However I cannot support training yourself into the ground to escape the greater issue. Training is ok by itself, even with a bit of emotion behind. But when That becomes the main force behind your efforts... the ending is not happy, you throw your entire life into it... and never truly live for yourself, take my words as you will Kami Inoue. That.... that is my opinion on that matter"
Sora would give a light chuckles and smile at Atsuko's answer to her previous question. She had a very good point. Heh, their was a reason she was kami. She was more knowledgeable than she herself may know. Speciully on the ethical points.
"You are correct of course, as much as they state it about mortals, we are not immune to the mistakes and corruption available to mortals. Yes... their are those that have fallen n the past, Caesar's ability to exist as he does can be evidence of that in a way. On the other hand, their are as you said expectations, As Rumia is to the Kai's on or side. Their are many reasons to fight.... hmmm even for Kami, you are... quite knowledgeable in this regard, you caught me off guard with that I must admit"
The Oni would chuckle again, before playing at the band holding the hair on Atsuko's body in place, it was an attempt to tease her a bit in the middle of all the seriousness of their talks. When she fully untied the band her hair would fall to full length on her backall and Sora would give a confident smirk as she crossed her arms playfully before continuing.
"Your are the Guardian of Earth.... I can see how you feel the need to shoulder this planet's burden on your shoulders alone. But to do so, to shoulder all this alone...if that is truly what you wish to do it will be a hard path, and I request that you allow me to walk that path with you, both to serve you on my master's request.... and as a friend after all.... you will only get so far with power alone Atsuko"
Soragami would hold out one of Atsuko's armored hands out to the kami, an attempt to seal the offer. It was more than her orders from Rumia at this point, Sora truly wished to help Atsuko on her own terms as well.
"What should be done... and what will happen in the future... as I said, if you wish to continue to down the path of training in this manner, allow me to walk it with you, so that we both may walk a new path... together, if you are not opposed"
The Albino Saiyan would make sure to note that down; Rumia was the type to tease a little. Still, maybe she could do with someone that wasn't so afraid around her. Not to the point of being rude to her, mind you. But... Someone that didn't see her as some imposing figure to be extremely polite towards, or to overcome. At the end of the day, she was a normal person same as anyone else. The Knight only commanded respect when dealing with matters of a serious variety. Most did not seem to grasp this, she couldn't change how they felt, however.
In whatever case, the Oni poised an interesting question to her however. How much of her life was really for herself? The Albino Saiyan fell silent at the implications. To be truthful... "...I've not really spent any time for myself. As soon as I could walk, I was essentially put into training. All to prepare for an Age of Demons.", the Saiyan explained in a calm tone of voice. "Everyone around where I grew up viewed it as a tradition. Traditions usually have legends to give them credence, and... Well, that's what has shaped me into become the Guardian of Earth."
"After that, it was several battles that told me that I needed to strive even more than I ever had; when my allies were first unlocking higher powers... It felt like I was contributing the least to the defense of Earth. When I unlocked Super Saiyan, that was of course when Nasu managed to do the same. And Athren... He obtained a power even greater than that.", the Knight continued. "Ever since then, it's been about improving myself to adapt to the rising challenges. Like mastering the first form of Super Saiyan, and beyond it.", she elaborated further.
"Essentially, it was a never ending cycle, climbing up further and further to deal with even greater challenges. I eventually learned the third Super Saiyan form. That became my goal... Now I've mastered that too. But I know Nasu isn't that far behind me. Jarvis is getting pretty strong, too... Knowing what I'm up against, is there really a choice for me to just slow down? I need to try and find a way to go beyond what I've accomplished. Even if it means just staying ahead of those two.", the Saiyan added. Sure, a deal of it was pride.
But there was legitimate concern in that either of them could come here to Earth and be a huge threat... The damage they could unleash on the Universe itself could be inconceivable. Someone had to be ready in such an event, right? Her philosophy had become 'if I don't, who will?'. Still, something surprising was pointed out... Even the Kais couldn't see into Makai? So they didn't know what happened back then. The Albino Saiyan gave a slight nod. "Well, I don't see any reason to keep it secret from you.", Atsuko would give as a response, where to begin?
"Once Nasu fired off his Spirit Ball, I knew there was only one option available to me. Face my enemy head on. Unfortunately, I didn't know that he would follow through with his attack and strike me down. It left me broken... Entirely vulnerable.", the Knight admitted. "My spirit had been crushed. I was left without the will to fight. Ironically enough, it was the Demon Queen that built me back up. She made sure that I was as comfortable as possible during my stay in Makai, and... Spared me quite a lot of humiliation at the hands of my former brother."
Atsuko continued the explanation. "But of course, Jarvis appeared, and taunted me over what happened back on Earth. The actions he had taken. That was enough to drive me into the third Super Saiyan form. I lashed out against him, I had the opportunity to kill him. But... I didn't. After that, Nakiya allowed me to return to the Mortal Realm. But it wasn't a simple task.", the Saiyan paused for a moment. "She had already used her portal taking Jarvis back to his homeworld, and again to return. Effectively she was drained and couldn't open another portal for me."
The Knight stated. "But there was another option. I could drink a cup of water that she offered me... It would strengthen me, bring out my true self. It would also allow me to open a portal to return to Earth. That was what I did. Everything else I assume you already know.", the Albino Saiyan finished her summary of the events that took place in Makai. "The strangest thing is... She didn't try to control me. She just asked me to help her destroy the Saiyans. It... Took a lot of myself to refuse that.", she noted.
Still, it was interesting to learn that the Kais were similar in that they weren't always pure, or at least didn't always stay that way. Others still became exceptions but weren't necessarily evil. It was a fact that spoke for itself in regards to the Mortals. However... Soragami seemed intent on walking this path right alongside the Albino Saiyan. A fact which proved a little surprising to Atsuko. Knowing just how dangerous it was, she was really going to do this? Maybe... It was time to stop being alone in all of this. The Knight was a little hesitant at first.
But she accepted the gesture, sealing the offer with a handshake. "Maybe it's time that I make a change. I don't know how easy it will be, but I'm at least willing to try.", the Saiyan commented. In many ways, this proved to be a relieving moment for her. There weren't many that she trusted to have at her side as a true companion. Soragami had managed to work her way into that status. She could only guess that Rumia would manage the same feat in due time. So the question was... What to do now? The Albino Saiyan didn't know for sure.
"Hmmm.... you've had a hard life, havn't you? At least, lately. Its so easy to forget the individual for the position. Sometimes it even happens.... for the individual themself. You've had nothing bit preparation your entire life, or at least that's how it sounds. How about this? I'll stop trying to cut your training down... its not my place anyway, but how about you at least not run yourself ragged? You will do no one any good if your to tired to help when danger comes no?"
She listened to as Atsuko explained how she ended up in Makai, only offering nods as she explained herself filly. Their was no disdain or hate in her expression. She simply wanted to listen. To the saiyan's worries and her story. She wanted to aid Atsuko Inoue both for her master, as well as for herself. She was starting to grow quite a disdain for this Nasu person however. Perhaps she could get Rumia to throw a surprise down on him, he was in her quadrant after all... perhaps it would also make the kami herself smile as well. When at last she did finish and Sora replied their was no hate in her voice, simply the same talk they had up until this point.
"I see... and did it bring out your true self Atsuko? I imagine this water you drunk is similar to the holy water you have here on the lookout. If that's the case.... yes, It would explain a lot of when you returned. However... something happened afterwords. Whether it be through the holy water or the water of makai you are in balance correct? In the end perhaps that is what matters. I imagine the Demon Queen is not entirely evil if she treated you so well, even if it was probably for her ends as well as yours. Their are very few in this world that are entirely evil.... even the subject itself is open to the interpretation of the individual. I am sure that to some out there, you and I are the villains in this scenario"
Sora would pause briefly, nodding her head as she did so. To her the Demon Queen was the enemy, for much of the reasons she had stated. It was just the way it was.
"As I said before, I know you have acknowledged the Demon Queen as your enemy, But do not force yourself to fight her if you cannot, no good will come from that. You will not be forced to do so ether by me or my master, we don't believe in mindless chest pieces to do our bidding. Given your history, the kindness she seems to have showed you.... I ask that you only fight her if you feel you are able, ok?"
Sora smiled as Atsuko took her hand, she wolud nod her head and focus her energy once more. In a instant the same energy from before would surround them, and they were in their proper bodies once more.
"I maintain what I said before, anytime you need a break this technique is free for you to utilize. And yes Atsuko... I know that it will take time, all I ask is that you try, for your happiness more than anything. For today... how about we wrap up your training, if you need some grand reason.... no one's show the Kai's assitent around Earth... so how about it? Just for today. Not even Caesar or Nasu can wreck the galaxy in a day"
Soragami would follow what Atsuko chose, and follow her on her way. After all... they were friends. Whether light or dark, or good or evil. Those alignments and portrayals didn't mean a thing to her.
