For mortal time, it had been almost an entire year since the fateful day when Northern and Western Kaioshin tried to stop the rebirth of the Evil Sorcerer at the Demon Realm. During that fateful confrontation, the protector of the Northern Galaxy almost managed to defeat him, despite the odds, but the wicked creature survived and accomplished his goal. Northern Kaioshin had been slayed by the wicked Cerulean King, while he was still just a mortal and sent to the afterlife. Obviously he was sent to heaven and could come back to his home world to continue his duties until a worthy successor would come, but he decided he had done enough in his 4 million years of existence. Northern Kaioshin could finally rest at peace and that was exactly what he did on heaven, trying to keep himself away from all the events on the mortal realm.
For the most part he was able to ignore it, but after the battle between the Overseer of the Saiyan Alliance, while under the foul influence of the one he tried to kill, and the Kami of Earth, who was beginning to make him doubt if she was really fit to the position. ”Actually… Are saiyans really up to any good at all?!” he would begin to question himself. Of course there were heroes in the past that made sure history would survive, but, honestly, they were just selfish beings, fighting for the sake of fighting. It was, in the end, just a happy coincidence that they chose to fight for the side that ended up protecting the universe. It was just that, not something guided by admirable moral standards or anything, as the Kaioshin was starting to believe.
After that, Jarvis had become a Kaioshin himself, which deeply shocked him. The Dragon made what he thought it was impossible and transformed a mortal into a god, and that was a sin. An unforgivable sin that another mortal, and a saiyan had done. That fateful event made Northern Kai decided to go against his initial will and to go back to his duties, even though he was dead; a minor situation that him, as a Kai, could soon revert if so he wished for. And he would be doing that soon.
Northern Kai took his time thinking thought all of it, and something changed inside of him. ”We Kais are weak. We are weak because we rely entirely on the Gods of Destruction to pass judgment while we just oversee and create. But that’s just wrong. We can’t stay still while the universe is thrown into mayhem once again. During Majin Buu era, Beerus was asleep and that led to a major destruction where almost every Kaioshin was killed. The fool would’ve died too if it wasn’t for the final sacrifice and survival of the previous Eastern Kaioshin. That was one time we fought and, if we had done it properly, if we had trained and shouldered the burden, things would’ve been different. No! It will be different from now on!” and with that in mind, Northern Kaioshin finally opened his eyes from his months long meditation and got to his feet.
With eyes filled with fiery determination, his almond-shaped black eyes stared at the skies above him as he voiced the magical words. – Kai Kai! – and with those words, he vanished from paradise and reappear on the Supreme Kai’s World, his home world, where he truly belonged.
To see his home world again made him feel nostalgic and happy, but that feeling soon faded away, giving its place to a much darker thought. ”This place… Has been tainted again by mortals… What happened?” he wondered. Northern got down to his knees and touched the ground beneath him with his fingers, feeling the voice of nature speaking to his soul. A saiyan again, the one named Natto – not the worse of his kind, but still a troublemaker – had just destroyed the fabric of reality and broken the boundaries of life and death, committing, yet, another sin. That angered him so much that made him grit his teeth and frown his brows. – Dammit! Those mortals! They respect nothing! – he roared to himself. Once he did that, though, he took a very deep breath and got back to his more serious feature.
Northern Kaioshin stared at his own hands, seeing his body that, while deprived of life, as it could be confirmed by the halo above his head, was still the same – the mark of the gods, the privilege of keeping their real bodies, even after such fatalities. – Still… I’m not the same anymore. – he said in a thoughtful tone. By closing his eyes, Northern Kaioshin used his magical godly power to change his outfit a bit. He acquired a long white cape, with something like a scarf around his neck. His red Kaioshin outfit became longer than before and his boots details changed ever so slightly. On top of that, his red Mohawk grew a little bit on the back. – Better… Yeah… Much much better. – he said to himself, opening and closing his hands as he felt the subtle differences on his body.
– Now, where are my siblings? – he spoke to himself, as he focused on using his perfect ki sensing skill to try and pin down their locations. The first one he was looking for was Rumia, the one who fought beside him against the wicked Sorcerer and, as far as he knew, she was the one dealing with the saiyans right now.
