Her trip to East City awhile back, and the landing she had gone to investigate, didn't really bring any new servants to her cause. What she had got out of that trip however, was not only more knowledge for her servants, but also a new sense of power, and the feelings it bestowed upon her.
Whether or not she would actually be able to find success in recruiting the defensive ally she needed, she now had the confidence and belief all she had to do was keep trying to succeed. This was the sense of accomplishment that this new strength was giving her. That she was capable and could make things work in her eventual favor. It was rather appropriate now, to declare that her fledgling days were now over, and with it were a couple of new changes.
While her bat form would still see use, her trip to East City had gone and proved it was a lot more entertaining to be seen as a blur and rumor. The speed she could reach in her regular form, was a lot more faster than anything a bat could reach. And then there was her habit of suppressing her true strength.
This scare tactic of increasingly letting it come out, would be more interesting to watch, if she had done the complete reverse. Having it all out at once, and then as she moved throughout the city, lowering it until it was no longer distinguishable from the common population that was around here.
If there was anyone worth an observation in this city at all, then it would be better to have them come to her, rather than the other way around. For people like her Saiyan servant, the idea that a challenging fight had slipped away from the younger girl, was one that easily made her someone to manipulate.
She saw no reason the same couldn't have been said for other species, no matter what their purpose here on earth was. With these displays of power in mind, she had once again left her two servants to care for the mansion, which although was an odd sight out in the snow, that was the benefit of Capsule Corp technology. Dressed comfortably for the weather in head to toe, with a school uniform shirt peeking out from under her jacket, she joined civilization.
One thing she wanted to do more of, and make a game out of, was seeing how fast she could go through the most populated parts of the city, then back again. With this new method of drawing out any potential observations, this power suppression would act as a timer of sorts for her to go try and beat.
In this heavy climate of snow, speed was what she would need to beat out the cold brushing past her body. Kicking off the start of this search, she had ran with the same methods in mind, which she had gone and used back in East City. Buildings she had thought would obstruct her view enough, were places she used as markers, as she stopped to rest for some brief moments. The gust she would leave behind as she passed certain people, might have been indistinguishable in this kind of weather, but power wasn't something that could be mistaken. Before anyone could go on and even turn around though, she would be gone.
Against the climate and rather rough landing it brought, the exertion she put onto the muscles in her leg, was noticeable, but rather temporary until she had gone and stopped for a moment. Within that brief period was aching, the way a human would normally feel from speed walking, instead of breaking out into an all out run. The feeling was weaker than the gravity training she normally did, but the soreness was still something to wait on in going away, once she was done with this game. It was times like these where she would usually rely on her other forms for recuperation and to ease the weight on her legs.
But using such forms would be a waste on what she saw was just a simple run through the city. If she couldn't handle this kind of exertion and push that she was doing, what exactly would make her think she would be able to handle twenty times of earth's gravity? The next milestone she was planning on pursuing.
This was something her Saiyan servant would smirk at, while her Majin servant, with those flexible and fleshy limbs of hers, wouldn't even feel this kind of pressure. No, this pain she was feeling was temporary, and nothing a good soak back at the mansion wouldn't be able to fix. She kept this thought in mind, as she worked on controlling her breathing. A weakness that although was a far step above that of a human, was something that she still had to deal with.
There was yet actually, only a few her servants had met, that showed they could prolong the need to take a breather. A feat that she would always see as potential, although however was simultaneously threatening. The Namekian that she had met a month or so back, here up in the Cold North, had his lungs coughing up blood after awhile of being under the pressure of ten times earth's gravity. A reaction that she wouldn't see with such a capability.
Those she had found interesting enough to invite back to her mansion, to study their tactics and behavior, she would expect to at least bleed at one point. Gravity training was far from being anything which she would consider to be something free, regardless of how much interest she had in them.
That was just how life was. Regaining her breathing enough to feel she could go past a few buildings more, before having to recover again, she continued moving. Whether actually going through the city, or taking a break, her power level had continued to be suppressed after entering inside of the city.
It was up to chance to decide if it would result in anything.

The cold flecks of white that left a small burning sensation on her skin.
That was what this thing called snow had felt similar to when it had landed upon her. Snow, a word that she only had learned of recently from her teacher. It was such a weird thing to feel upon this world. Yet it was also a bit of a relief in certain ways she just couldn’t understand. Something inside of her felt reminiscent of the feelings from the touch of it. Something she couldn’t place but anywhere near maybe her slight memory loss. Even then over the few days she had began to recover more and more of her memory. She began to discover more and more of her own self even. Only bits and bits, but yet another of which she did understand. She knew exactly what she was herself now. This form she was in was nothing but a change of her biological structure. A simple disguise to hide what she really was on the inside. However the form was simply external, internally her body’s primary organs were still very much the same.
Still it was all a steady process of gaining her process towards that of her original design. One that undoubtedly would take time indeed before such could possibly happen. Her evolution would come of which one day, and with it maybe she would have been able to find her true purpose. Until that day was to come maybe she could even assimilate life forms that contained her DNA structure. It would be a rather decent way as well to grow faster in strength as well as evolve. Either way she was going to take a look at every idea she could muster. The type of creature she was, if it was ever found out. It could call for an immediate kill on sight for one such as herself. It was something very peculiarly that she was going to have to stay rather cautious towards until her power was large enough for it to not be such a dire duress. Even then the very thought of what made up her DNA, the details not exact. The power and rush it gave her. She felt faster than many others. Fast enough to do anything. Simply the rush running through her blood was making her hungry.
As the girl began to walk down the streets, her power not suppressed from a mere lack of how to just yet. That memory just wasn’t available to her. So for the mean time she had simply kept to using her heavy weights, as frankly they had been quite the excellent source of keeping her power sustained. Still as is, she knew that as her power would grow as she herself would. It was only going to be a matter of time before her power was too great for herself to keep suppressed. She wished frankly for a friend, someone she could actually trust with such a secret to keep. Someone who would have been able to help her keep a cover while such evolution occurred. There was no such thing as a true trust though, everyone and anyone would betray a friend for money or anything really. Heck she would herself if the offer was good enough. A bounty hunter couldn’t keep such bonds after all..however an assassin was another story entirely.
It had only started, but a single day ago. In the midst of the night in a deep slumber she had began to have visions of a face. One she couldn’t recognize as simply familiar in a way. A saiyan of some kind she could tell from the spiky black hair, but who for sure was another question. She had no understanding of it until the morning. When she had awoken she had began to understand why she had seen their face. They were simply meant as a target for her to hunt, kill, and to reap of rewards. Frankly it worked well with the bounty hunter business, there was no better way to conceal such. Even then it had it’s problems though. The first issue was to hide as a killer, mainly to gain some kind of hobby to conceal her true personality. That was how we were led to an always happy girl ready to help her friends and to train in martial arts...at least on the outside of appearances. On the truth beneath the layer of biological skin, the heart inside of her sought for simply nothing more but to grow and assimilate. Power was the true way to victory after all, not petty friendship.
As Duvainel trotted through the back lots and alleyways of the city, a pouch of zeni hanging to her side close to the two hilts of a futuristic design. She had just gotten back from a very successful job. A merchant had well..made the wrong person mad so after a bit of talking she had got them to pay up their debts to the guild. Splitting off her own personal share she had been rather delighted to gain such a graceful amount. Whatever it took after all to keep bills paid and warm food on the table. Divines know she needed it with her appetite. She just hadn’t been able to find anyone yet who satisfied her desires to assimilate. Soon maybe she would find someone, but for now it all was a matter of keeping her stomach full and her powers at bay. She needed to keep this form up after all, she couldn’t risk her real form being seen just yet. It was far too much a risk for her safety.
It was at this very moment that she had bumped into a girl while in such deep thought. Unknowing of the creature of night she had just bumped into. Duvainel herself had been sure almost that this person was simply a human. She had thought it was strange how cold their skin had felt, but surely that was simply the cold weather at work. ”I'm sorry there, I wasn’t paying attention to where I was going. The name’s Duvainel though! It’s a pleasure to meet you.” She would begin to say with a friendly smile, her shortcut pink hair no doubt a sight to see of its rarity. Her own ki rather strange as well with its mixture of types between that of an elemi and brenchian ranging to a demon even.

Back pressed against the wall of this last building for today's warm up, her body was hunched over just a bit, as she had gone and paced her breathing again. A bit of sweat had been worked up, both from this workout, and the weight of the clothing covering her body, but was nothing that couldn't be dried up with the climate here. Her true strength had now been suppressed down to that of an average human, to avoid any unnecessary attention to her.
At least, more than being in a place like this had already caused. Though she couldn't really care less about who saw her, considering she wasn't even a local. Just visiting, in the hopes that this other landing she had heard about, was a lot more promising than the one that happened in East City.
Anyone who could sense energy, and had been around through that whole run, if they cared at all to follow after, then it shouldn't have been too long until she had met the one she was looking for. It was a hopeful thought which might or might not come true, but whether it did or didn't, she did have other things to do. Tracking down the one who had landed back in East City, actually ended up requiring her to go around questioning the locals about it.
She was the type to do things on her own, rather than relying on others for information, so it was rather displeasing to have resort to such an easy method. It would be a consideration, but if it turned out that drawing people to her didn't work, then she would go and put better use of her time at the mansion.
Easier to think while in there, then out here in the cold. Just as she had gone and properly stood up, someone had bumped into her. It wasn't enough to really knock her down, with some proper footing on the ground, but she did expect an apology to go on and come out of it. Which surprisingly, she did.
Usually anyone who had made that mistake, involved her bringing it up first. Taking a look at who had bumped into her, she found a girl with pink hair, who happened to be around her age. The color had reminded her of one of the girl's she had met only her Freshman year, and along with a blonde, had quickly warmed up to her. They were still back in West City, doing who knows what together, while waiting to hear what she had been up to so far.
The girl seemed friendly, and much like when she had met that man, who was a hybrid, words were trying to be put into her mouth again. She would hardly call running into someone a nice way to meet someone, regardless of whether or not, what the girl had said, was just a common thing to say to people.
There was also this weird feeling she was getting from the girl, which she just couldn't place. The kind that seemed familiar, but couldn't have possibly be, seeing as how she was positive she didn't know the girl. Was it just the friendliness? Or maybe something more. Hard to tell, since she couldn't really sense a person's strength without them at least bleeding first. A part about herself that she would work on fixing, but it wasn't one she would rush.
"Rukia. And not really the best thing to say in a place like this, and with that hanging around."
They were practically in an alleyway, and hanging from the girl's side, was a pouch of zeni. Her words could have easily be seen as something criminal, and the friendly attitude wasn't really helping. Though if she was any least bit worried at all, she would have done more than joke about the situation.
The girl's greeting wasn't something that needed to be returned, with the way she had phrased things, although would certainly be a piece she would lead to where she had wanted. This girl couldn't have possibly be the person she was looking for, seeing as how the girl seemed to be just a human.
Though it wouldn't really hurt to go and have the girl make up for bumping into her, that a simple apology just couldn't do. With enough reasoning behind it, words could mean something. But what exactly had the girl been thinking of, for her not to pay attention to her walking, was something peculiar. There was reason behind this, and if she couldn't hear it, then at least she could go and gather information from a local like she had wanted. Assumingly.
"I won't ask what kept you so lost in thought, but I will ask if you're a local, and if you know anything about the most recent landing around here."
With the kind of technological breakthroughs that Capsule Corp have long since made, as well as the Saiyans constantly coming to earth, and leaving their own planet, visitors from space were hardly anything new. But how people felt about this, was a mix of either acceptance, or dislike that this happens.
So her question wouldn't really be anything odd. It was really her not being from around here, and supposedly having come here to look into this landing, that made things fishy. But whether or not the girl really knew anything, it would lead to other topics of conversation, and where she wanted.
She was hoping, at least. While yet to really meet a human who could really give her a challenge, it didn't mean she wasn't still looking to run into one. She knew there were those like her blonde friend back in West City, who were interested in martial arts, but those type of events were usually limiting.
If whatever was familiar about the girl, had ever revealed itself, or at least come back to her, then maybe there was a chance it meant there wasn't something promising about the girl. One which she could go on and study for herself, and make her own, but with a noticeable flare of speed to it.
There was a chance.
(Note: The whole landing thing is just something I'll do for a solo. And the whole familiar thing, is the demon side of Duvainel, from meeting Marcel.) WC: 1040 TWC: 2066

A day of adventure none the less, filled with simply excitement and turns of fate around every corner.
That was the best way to explain how her day was going so far. As with every step further, her destiny was coming closer and closer, Slowly to surely be revealed as time would tell when the moment shall come. Now though fate had its own means of moving things alongs, for instance. Arranging such a meeting between the Daughter of Night and the Daughter of Twilight. How fate was so.. Unknowing of bringing such creatures to each other was simply a mystery within itself. One that possibly the gods above could not even answer. The gods that would one day see their own downfall under a shroud of eternal twilight. This realm was going to be covered by its beauty one day and nothing would cease to change such. Little did Duvainel know of the plans held for her, far to exceed even her creator's own wishes.
Duvainel truly had not meant the intent of bumping into this girl. She was going to need to be more careful when she was moving around. She couldn’t keep getting lost in thought like this every time she went out. One day she was going to get caught by someone, and when that day comes she would have to show her true form possibly to the public. A fatal risk that just couldn’t be afforded. It was something without a doubt she was just going to have to work on over time, either that or learn to process her information faster, fast enough so she could remain aware while in thought. Anything that would work to her advantage would do as long as she could find a means to do so. Risk was a factor of which that she had to take with the utmost concern. Maybe this blending in though was going to be a lot harder than she had originally factored for. Recalculations were going to need to be in order.
As the foreign girl would give out her own name along with pointing out the bag of zeni to her side, Duvainel couldn’t help but laugh a bit. “Well it’s nice to meet you Rukia, don’t worry about this though. I can handle myself quite well. I’m actually a lot stronger then I look.” She would say with simply a wink as she began to move her hand to point at her clothing. “This clothing is actually heavily weighted, enough I would even go as far to say that I’m only moving at about a quarter of my speed. They were a gift from my caretaker, apparently from the last person they had trained.” Duvainel would continue to say withe friendliness in her voice never ceasing to stop. The smile on her face though, warmed to the bone of her teeth. It really did seem like this was simply some friendly girl of some kind. “Let’s just say danger is in my blood.” She would say once more with sheer excitement. Even though the term was simply a metaphor, for Duvainel the term was in other ways quite literal.
As she began to back up to lean against the wall she couldn’t help but feel the pinprick of metal. Quickly letting out but a hiss of pain. She looked at the back of her arm and noticed the piece of broken shrapnel she had laid back on. The remnants of the needle like piece of shrapnel she had laid on, dissolving away from her very very corrosive blood. While that had indeed hurt, it was merely more of a nuisance than anything else. “Well then, I guess that teaches me not to lean back without looking.” She would say with a smile along with a slight chuckle. Reaching into one of her side pockets, she would pull out a bandage roll it seemed, yet one side of it seemed to be covered in some kind of glazing, Whatever that glazing was, it seemingly kept the bleeding pinprick from the back of her arm from corroding through the bandage. It was around this timing that Rukia’s second question came through.
As Duvainel began to think for a moment on the question, was it possible this girl had noticed her landing? If so where had she been that night? She hadn’t even sensed her before, heck she didn’t even recognize her. “Well, I am technically a local, but not by long. The most recent landing I know of though was my own, after I got seperated from my mother and father on our original ship. Well..I landed here on this planet. If it’s my landing you wanted to know about then I’d have to ask why, if not well..then I’m sorry to say I don’t know. I haven’t heard of any other landing as of recently.” She would say mostly truthfully. Technically her mother and father did abandon her...they just weren't exactly people, she was after created by advanced machines. In truth she really hadn’t heard of any other landings though, maybe she would have to expand her search farther in the future to understand this world fully.
Duvainel did still have her own questions though now about this person. It was a little strange of how interested she was in finding out of some kind of landing, and frankly she was quite curious herself now. “If you don’t mind me asking a question? Where did you come from? I haven’t really seen you around here and you're obviously not much of a local yourself, if well, you were asking me a question about the area.” She would ask in her own amusement of questions. As she waited for her own answer she did begin to notice the shadows in the corners beginning to grow, it seemed that night was coming to approach soon. It was hard to tell exactly when though without some kind of clock. A strange day seemingly soon to end. That really was good to her though, she personally was more of a night person after all.
Her body might not have been as toned as her Saiyan servant, or really even noticeable under her clothing with this kind of climate, but there have been couple of events in the past, where she was accused of not being able to handle herself. It wasn't intentional, but now it had been the reverse.
Though the interesting thing about the defense the girl had given, was revealing her clothing was weighted, and that she was supposedly a lot faster without it. The idea of wearing weighted clothing had been on her mind, back when she had been shopping for her mansion and gravity room, but one she had decided to opt out not to go for. Her reason being that even if she had gotten it custom-tailored for everyday wear, it still would have looked bulky in places.
For someone who cared about what she would wear for the day, yet still kept in mind of the climate here, the jacket she was wearing was bulky enough. Both the claim that she was faster, and the girl's use of such clothing, was enough reasoning to imply that she really wasn't just a typical civilian.
There was something more about the girl, which was another thing that they might have had in common. Though this friendly attitude was something to get used to, since it was only similar to the friend she knew, who was the type to invite people along, despite there not being a discussion about it beforehand.
"Funny, that's usually what I tell people."
While she was referring more to the girl's defense, she could say the same for telling people a sample of her speed, wasn't as fast as she could really go. A rather bold, but interesting claim by the other girl, since she appeared to be human. Wasn't really the only interesting part about her either.
Hearing her say that she had a caretaker, was an implication of wealth, or at the very least, being adopted. Either one was likely, and the expression the pinkette had used, didn't really help to clarify that question on her mind either. Though both gave different insights and explanations of the weighted clothing, along with the kind of training, the girl must have been involved in. A lot different than how she had gone and learned from her coven.
Before she could really go and comment on what had been said, the girl had leaned back, and started hissing in pain. A reaction that had her raise an eyebrow, as she had revealed the cause had been a piece of shrapnel, which seemed to shortly disappear away, like it had been hit by acid.
The girl trying to make light of the situation, only brought a bit of a frown. It was a bit annoying just how common this sort of front was for people. Especially when the times she had seen people do this, both in life and media, was when they were trying to hide the pain of facing an injury.
That kind of thing could be detrimental, if one were apart of a team, and was playing a necessary role, that could have otherwise been filled by someone else. An annoyance that practically made the person dead weight, depending on the injury, as it would mean having to rely on someone else.
Perhaps even enough to warrant death being the better option. The outlook wasn't one that should be mistaken for concern however. An injury that was serious or purposely hidden, was just one she felt should speed its process, or punish. Neither of the two were really ones that couldn't be avoided, but it was such practices that had either gone and proved that there hadn't been enough training to avoid a serious injury, or enough discipline being shown.
Effort that would have her be somewhat at fault.
"I wouldn't make such light of an injury, even if you have healing gel."
That was what the liquid on the bandage seemed to be, anyway. One she recognized that came in copious, and a more liquidized amount, in that of healing tanks. Which were worth just a bit more than her mansion was, but not enough to where it costed more than her gravity machine. Still, it was useful.
What she had seen that happened to that piece of metal though, was something to question. It wasn't really normal for objects to react that way to blood, which must have meant that this girl had to have been more than human. So many species had such uncanny resemblances to humans, for people from space.
Although whether or not this girl was one of them, and was also the one she had been looking for, she had her doubts. She was expecting someone more alien, if they had came to earth from whatever space ship they had. The only exceptions she had seen so far, had been Saiyans, and that one 'God of Destruction'.
"I won't ask about the separation, and whether or not you're the one is questionable. That blood thing wasn't normal, but you look human enough, and I'm guessing it's just some kinda space snake ancestry."
The girl's separation from her parents, interesting as it was to imply there must have been disaster, she didn't care for. Though it did go and explain previous questions she had about the girl, like why she had a caretaker. Info like that was more than enough for her to go and fill the gap on her own.
Her being a hybrid of sorts with reptilian genes, was also the only thing she could compare the seemingly acidic properties too. Which was rather a shame, since it means if they ever met again after today, the girl's blood would be off-limits, until she was strong enough to overpower something like poison.
"I will say my reason for hoping for someone more alien, is because they would be potential help for certain plans I have. I'm not as human as I look either."
Since the question had been essentially asked about what she was, she saw no reason in telling such info, despite the pinkette apparently not knowing any useful information about the landing. The girl's own questions for her, wasn't anything she saw as too important to not go and mention either.
This had actually been a question that she had been asked before as well. Most recently by a halfling Saiyan, who hadn't actually been comfortable with explaining the other half of his heritage, despite there being evidence that she could piece together on her own, with or without his confirmation.
"West City. A long trip, but it's not a place I haven't been here before with my servants. I assumed it had been worth visiting again for a potential recruit."
Night was beginning to come to the city, which was a sign that she should go on and head back to her mansion, before all the places around here had closed up for the night. Both darkness and a climate like this, weren't exactly good combinations together, as much as she wanted to do investigations.
The day hadn't exactly been much of a waste. There could have been more productivity on her part, but it wasn't anything she couldn't make up back at the mansion. While she didn't want to be the one to bring up how the day was coming to an end, she did want to invite the girl back for observation.
With the assumption the other girl had a couple of hours to waste.

Duvainel was learning more and more the longer she was with Rukia here. Even if it was only bare bits of information she could gather from her comments. Something about the way she worded things almost sounded like she had secrets of her own, similar to herself. The question of what those secrets were, did in fact leave a quell of confusion inside of herself as to what they could be. She even thought of asking the other girl about it...but..the girl, Rukia, had respected her own privacy enough to not ask any question of what she had been thinking herself. She at least...could give her the same respect, it was only polite after all. Something someone did for another out of..respect..yeah that was it. Nothing more, nothing less. At least..she thought it was. She thought maybe it was right. Unless..no, they really weren’t friends, just acquaintances who happened to meet.
Why was she feeling so confused though? She wasn’t designed to have friends. Bounty Hunters didn’t have friends, Assassins were not to make friend either. So why is it that she felt happy having someone to talk with? It just didn’t make sense. It shouldn’t make sense. Her whole story was a slight fabricated being. She just didn’t know exactly what she was to do. What it was that she needed that made her stay here? Why couldn’t she leave? What was happening to her that kept these feelings in place. Why was it happening to her? Was her creator trying to mess with her or..what? She had thought she had been doing well since her landing and her creator hadn’t placed any task to her just yet. So what was this feeling coming from? Who was it really coming from? How was she going to find out? Was there anyway to find out? So many questions and yet no answers to come. Why was life so confusing…
It was then that she had a brief glimpse, it was in a first person view as she heard herself laughing with a few others near her, seemingly a saiyan, a robot, and a mechanic. Who were these people and what did they have to do with her? As quick as it came though it faded away and she was brought back to reality, no time having passed on the outside while her mind had seen that image. What a weird occurrence however, it might have to be something she would have to report to her superiors. Hopefully to see if they would know what it meant. For now though she needed to continue on her conversation. She couldn’t just stay silent for too long. That would just leave thing rather quite awkward. It seemed timing was perfect as Rukia mentioned how she would tell people the same. Her power felt so low though? Was it possible she was just suppressing it, and if so..how powerful was she really?
“Really now? Hehe I guess that is quite funny then now isn't it. It makes me wonder how strong you are as well somewhat. I guess that’s the warrior blood in me from my father heh.” She would joke very slightly as her curiosity was peaked on how strong the human in front of her was. It was really a matter of such intense curiosity. She had noticed that having been with Rukia, she didn’t feel that hunger she always felt around others. Something about her just lacked that sense of proportion that always garnered her interest. It was strange considering almost every other living creature she had met had dragged upon such beforehand, even the man from her last job. It felt..nice not having to fight to stop that hunger in her stomach. Still there were question to come after such.
The next one was about her injury from the shrapnel. Said piece of shrapnel was nearly completely burned away almost. That made this awkward and the excuse that Rukia had stated..was interesting itself, but it wasn’t something she could use. She couldn’t form scales properly and thus it would have been hard to say that was the reason. “It’s..it's complicated..the reason I used the bandage wasn’t because it was a nuisance to me, no it doesn’t hurt that, it was just more the surprise of it. The reason is I just didn’t want any more of my blood to spill say on the ground or on another person. As fun as it would be say I have snake ancestry that isn’t the case. My mom was a demon human hybrid and my father an elemi brenchian hybrid. For reasons I don’t know still the radiation of my father’s genes combined with the demonic one’s of my mother had caused my blood to lower and lower in ph levels to a point of zero point two. Therefore, very very acidic. As in for normal humans it would probably burn them quite easily. The only reason it doesn’t burn me I think is because I still have my mother’s demonic orgins. That is why I hurried to put the medi gel on, I didn’t want it to leak on well..you.” Duvainel would say with quite a silence afterwards, seemingly a look of embarrassment from her of the whole thing.
As she shivered from a chill of the approaching night, she noticed how Rukia began to explain of her own plans, of where she came from as well. “West City huh? I’ve never been there. Maybe I can help you with your plans though? I mean, I have some experience with various kinds of jobs. I don’t think it would be too challenging for me to help out with what you need. Though if we talk about it more, do you mind if we head some place warmer? Its starting to get a bit cold out here with the night approaching.” She would begin to ask as she would look to Rukia. There was something about her that drove this feeling inside of her that she couldn’t explain. Only a word she could thinking of was formful and fitting of such. Was it possible that maybe..she was just beginning to feel what friendship was?
The warrior blood the girl had mentioned was another interesting bit about the pinkette, but what stuck out to her had been this part. It might have been just a jest, but she couldn't personally say she wasn't curious about the girl's supposedly real speed. An opportunity to see it, wasn't something she would really oppose either.
Thought tact was a part of life that was needed, in almost any given situation, no matter what her feelings on the matter were. Without it, there would be many events in the past where she would have been susceptible enough to be manipulated, and fulfill the interests of the other person, rather than what she wanted to know and hear.
The lesser option to take for now, would normally have been the subject about this warrior blood, if not for her having already said she wasn't going to ask. But there wasn't a real need to do so either. That alone, was enough of an indication to explain the girl's reasoning for training, as something that was built up through family.
"The same goes for your speed."
What difference her words had, compared to the girl's own, was that her opinion on the matter wasn't outright stated. It wasn't really necessary to be cautious for something like this, but it was a habit of hers that had been put to use, ever since having been turned into a Vampire. Her people were the sort to hide themselves from society, rather than interact with others in a public manner. Unsurprising, since this power was dark, and comparable to the cults that started rumors of their existence.
Nevertheless, the secret was one that would be kept, and continue to, until that line of thinking would change. Her revealing what she was to people she would likely not see again for quite some time, was far from being something that would impact what her own kin had built up for years. Not until she made more of a claim to fame.
Listening to the girl explain about the strange properties of her blood, had came with a lot more information than what she had been looking to hear. Though it was useful information, which only continued to reveal and answer what she had on her mind, for the most part. The most peculiar though, was the pinkette's honesty with this.
She was assuming, at least. The embarrassment helped explain the reason for why she was being told all of this, but so much honesty made her want to advise how it wasn't exactly a good thing. But knowing what she had in mind, and the girl's own confidence about handling her own, doing so would only be going back to earlier topics.
Elemi and Brenchian weren't species she had really heard of, but admitting so would put her at a greater disadvantage, than knowing what they were really were. It was easier to judge the girl's capabilities when she saw those movements and attacks for herself, rather than ask. Something which had been working fine for her, so far.
"You're being quite honest. I can't say I would do the same in most circumstances."
Especially when it came to revealing what her family and friends were like. Such a subject could prove to be too personal to go and tell someone you only just met. But if it was in the other girl's nature to do so, then it wasn't anything to oppose. Her words weren't advice, but rather her own input on the matter.
If there was any advice there to give, it would be her own line of thinking in revealing that sort of information, only if there was something to gain from doing so. But such words would reveal what she was hoping to ask of the girl, and that kind of turn around, was enough to put herself into someone else's control, rather than her own.
The pinkette's shiver, was indication of an opportunity to continue this talk elsewhere. Assuming anyway, that the girl even wanted to. She seemed friendly enough for her to think it would be something, the girl would be comfortable of. And she had heard enough from her to be interested in extending an invitation to her mansion.
"I have some reasonable doubts, though I won't oppose into at least listening. We can head to my mansion, unless you'd prefer something more familiar."
Finding a proper ally wasn't that easy. Their tactics had to not only match the defensive position she was actually looking for, but there was also their loyalties, and how submissive they could be under her rule. The landing she did investigate back in East City, and the one who was in the ship, was more of an attacker.
Such qualifications, especially in regards to being somewhat submissive under her rule, was rare. To be able to find someone who was willing to live with her under such conditions, had so far turned out to be like finding a needle in a hay stack. There was also what she had told the girl earlier, about wanting someone more alien.
Her reasons for it, was simply on the basis of studying a culture she wasn't familiar with, rather than whatever could have been taught on earth. She knew not of any civilizations where there were only just one group of a species, who fitted the description that she was looking for. Or at least, she had yet to really do so.
That could just as easily change with more exposure and recognition.

For one to gain knowledge, they must also be willing to give it.
That was a saying she had heard many times from her mentor. Something that she followed to its very core. At least with her cover that was. Ever since she had came to this planet that had been all that she had done. Building up her cover, her ego. Such a simple thing that could change nearly everything if its secret got out. That was why they had tended to be so cautious when business came up and less so when it didn’t. She needed two diverse personalities to keep up such an illusion. Both with one core to each. The friendliness that exist within only few, the kind of which one doesn’t simply betray without a second thought. That was simply not a way how one should handle such a thing. For this kind of cover one needed to keep it up to the very end, even if it means going against what they typically believed in with all of their heart.
She wasn’t dense, she knew what she was saying and with what honesty she was saying it with. She had wanted for the knowledge to be out there, the more one thought someone couldn’t lie well, the more easily a secret could be kept. Especially so if said secret was the only thing letting her live now. So while yes she may have been quite honest, all the more would it ruin the chances of others finding out of her own secret. Of her own little lie that kept her alive. It was strange how such life could hang in the true of merely a few simple words, a few simple words that could possibly end her future here and now as well as stop an entire possible future. All a possible death simply from a few words if she didn’t keep the secret shut. It did feel truly strange how vulnerable she was, it was something she truly hadn’t felt before. So powerful and yet so..easily able to be broken. Almost like simply a glass cannon. Once she took that first shot would she simply shatter? That simply wasn’t one of the risk she would take.
“Sorry for being so honest, I tend to ramble when I get embarrassed. Sometimes honesty is just the best solution to go for, it at least helps keep me out of trouble somewhat. I suppose though I might have spoken just a bit too much for any good though.” Duvainel would begin to apologize to her acquaintance, another shiver catching her a bit by surprise. She never liked the cold much, the night was something she absolutely loved, but the cold was just something she couldn’t stand. It was like the feel of such always brought some kind of reminder to her that she just couldn’t place. As she looked back to the human like figure of Rukia. She began to try to piece together everything she had gathered from their conversation. It wasn’t anything easy no, but if she could just find out a bit more about this girl maybe she could piece together what she actually was? There was no guarantee no, but if there was that bit of a chance, she had to figure it out. After all, she needed to practice her studying and musings over these creatures anyway. The more she could learn...the better the chance of furthering her own evolution.
As she let out another shiver that was when Rukia had extended out an invitation, An invitation to somewhere warmer to continue their talk. As coincidental as it being, that was Rukia’s own mansion. She truly had never seen a mansion before. How rich was this Rukia? That was what was interesting as well. If she could help out with this job, that meant she could make a rather decent pay along with a possible friend. A friend of which she could study as well and maybe learn to blend in more with the rest of the earthlings. It felt weird with that word rolling in her head. Earthling, why did it feel so..familiar. It just had to be a side effect most likely of when she was created. That had to be it, just a minor nostalgic feeling. It was probably just nothing. A nothing that held her interest for later. Maybe it would stop once she would reach her true form. Another incentive possibly for trying? It could never hurt to try..at least not for her, she couldn’t promise anything for those she would assimilate. Frankly she had no idea what they would feel? Pain, Relief, Ease? There was no way for herself to know.
“Thank you Rukia for inviting me, I would love to come along with you. Anything is better than the cold out here. I’m suprised your not shivering yet? How thick is that clothing you're wearing heh.” She would joke slightly as she bundled up her own clothing a little tighter to help keep the shreds of warmth left. It would be quite nice to get inside soon, maybe even do her own studying of Rukia to see how strong she really was. It really did peak her interest, nearly as much as Rukia’s own of her own speed. No matter where Rukia would go to get to her mansion Duvainel would simply follow. After all it wasn’t like she herself knew where exactly the mansion was. Still whatever Rukia held in store..whatever was to come was indeed going to be interesting at the very least. A good example of what one needed to know and to study especially for the blending in that she would need. This honest good hearted facade seemed to be working just as planned. How delightful, especially for the future days to come. Soon her power would be released and once it could reach that full potential the universe was never going to need to worry about the light and darkness fighting ever again.
A response that wasn't too uncommon depending on upbringing, and before she was filled with the confidence of a Vampire, had been one she tended to show, assuming it was done by those she was familiar with. But with the responsibilities that also came with being capable than those average, and the cautions she took into becoming more, there was truly few times it could be enjoyed.
Now it was more of a reminder of the human side she still had, though often pushed away for more serious endeavors that excluded life with a boy she wanted to figure out, long before she had become a Vampire. Certainly something she still had time in pursuing.
In regards to the pinkette admitting that her honesty was due to this response, it certainly explained just why she was hearing so much that wasn't asked. Though it was far from being an issue, knowing it paved way for future manipulation, or going where she wanted it to go. Things had already worked out for her so far, and by no means did she expect for it to end anytime soon.
"So long as it's enjoyable, it's nothing I would truly impose. I haven't actually had a conversation like this in awhile."
The exchanges she had with her servant, were rather quick and short, along with usually not holding anything enlightening. That Namekian she had once invited to her mansion, had been the one who held a discussion she was able to enjoy carrying.
Fond as she was with these types of occurrences, it still wasn't enough of an excuse, to really get in the way of her own benefit. She had big plans that came with growing in power, and hesitating because of something human, was far from being likely.
As they talked outside like this in the open snow, the girl's shivering was something that became rather obvious. Despite the both of them being dressed for the weather, she knew that it was far from being enough to stay as warm as being in a building.
But that was just another change that came from being a Vampire. Her body felt cold to other people, and while she could still feel what the air around here was like, it was hardly a bother. Things otherwise felt as normal as one would really expect.
"I've built up quite a tolerance, when it comes to the cold."
The best way to explain it, was likely that her body was desensitized to what humans, or surprisingly a hybrid, would feel. It wasn't gone completely, as she was still able to feel pain, but it would take more than a single punch to really make her hurt.
What she said to the pinkette, wasn't exactly a lie. Most of what she said when she met someone interesting, before revealing what she really was, was kept in mind as they talked. Only because she couldn't really be accused of anything, when the question of whether or not she really was human, was all it really took to get the answer from her. It wasn't a secret outside of her more human life at school. She might have become the type that showed she was better, but it was still tact that motivated her.
Thankfully, unlike most of the other cities, the Cold North was a place where there were plenty of open space. Not many really could, or had the desire to really live in such a cold climate, which made it pretty optimal for a base of operations.
At least, if the cold had been her type of scenery. She recognized the potential, but that was different from actually going with the decision. There were plenty and better places to have a base of operations, though before thinking of such, she needed more finance and resources. Only then would she be able to go and expand beyond what her mansion couldn't offer. A place for a queen.
Nodding at the girl and gesturing to follow, she took a run forward, leading the way towards the mansion. Sounds of the snow crackling underneath her boots, filled the short silence left by her response, while the cold wind brushed past her body.
"I should warn you my servants, a Majin and a Saiyan, might be interested in seeing what you're capable of. If you have the time, I'd recommend a spar in the gravity room."
While they were headed there, the best time, if any, was now to propose this offer. Not an outright proposal, as she had stated what she knew her two servants would be eager for, but what they thought was also something which she took interest in as well.
Her speed wasn't something that would be a blur to the girl, as it normally would for an average person, more so because she had a guest following her, than to really keep up the guise of her currently suppressed strength. Though it was still relatively fast.
With the running involved in getting there, the sight of the mansion had came into view far faster, than if they had simply just walked. She was quite aware there was a possibility of asking why they didn't fly instead, knowing how it was a question that was asked of her before, though it was by no means something she didn't already have an answer in response for.
The structure of the building, while didn't come with a fancy front gate, was pretty clear it was Capsule Corp technology, from the look of the windows. Despite the roof being covered in snow, and certain windows fogging up, it was still a sight to behold.
She still wanted a lot bigger however. One that could possibly serve as a base of operations or headquarters, with dozens of minions under her rule. The Capsule Corp building itself, was a good start to what she wanted, and actually rather accessible.
But if there was ever a position she'd rather have, it was Queen of Earth. The title was far better, and certainly had more political power than Capsule Corp president. They had also been under their current ruler for far too long, and needed a fresh face.
Such a goal however, was just something she was just not ready for yet. A reminder that became apparent, after entering the code to the door, both outside and inside, where she was met with an empty hall. Had she had chosen to gather more minions, rather than focusing on finding this last ally, there would be someone to greet her, going on to address her as Lady Rukia.
She would be informed on what was prepared for lunch, and offered a massage, or a better alternative like turning on the jacuzzi. Days where she wasn't in the mood or needed an outlet, the gravity machine would be already turned on for her use.
This life she felt like was so close, and she knew that she was very capable of reaching it, but this one ally was stopping her from searching for such help and loyalty. The time she spent with this search, was time that she had hoped paid off in the end.
"It's difficult to say where the two are. One of them is usually in the gravity room, while the other is at their leisure. I only know our arrival has already informed one of them to either finish up, if they haven't already, or to turn the gravity machine on. Though for the moment, I won't oppose of warming up first."
Those who she was referring to, were the only two that had been mentioned earlier. Whether or not she came from wealth, was another question that was often asked, and nice as that would be, she would have plenty of minions around if that was really the case.
The pinkette was led around through halls, of which had various picture frames, containing the overlook of a city. These shots were much too specific of important buildings, to really be anything other than personal, and in truth, that assumption would be correct.
But none of what they passed were really something she stopped for, or really even give an explanation about. Not unless the girl was curious enough to ask, which was something she went by for her own interests, when it came to leading people where she wished.
Shortly however, they had walked into what was clearly a kitchen, which if it had been a month or so before, would be filled with discarded water bottles her Saiyan servant left out. But the girl was better taught now, after a few bouts with her.
Having come up here north a couple of times enough, she had started getting into the habit of having a pantry with ingredients for hot chocolate. It was practically winter year round here, as far as she knew, making any other beverage a rather bold choice.
"If you wish to offer advice now, you can start now if you'd like."
Mixing the contents into two mugs, she stirred one then the other, taking a moment to gesture to the living room, where the Saiyan's futon laid a couple of feet away near the TV and burning out fireplace. Her movements, while still visible, had a rather noticeable dash forward that blurred. And though it was slow, her true strength had been getting steadily less suppressed.
She still didn't care much about hiding that part of her while in her own place, finding too much comfort. It felt more natural too, and after finishing up, placing the mugs on a coffee table in the next room, she had discarded her winter wear on the opposite sofa. To be able to create so much familiarity in a place like this, was something she would continue as she expanded in power.
At the end of the day, no matter what her mood was, this homely feel was rather nice to come back to.

Duvainel had’t expected for another human to say something like that. She thought humans carried on conversations seemingly constantly? She had seen teenagers that had walked around the courtyards before talking on phones to one another. It had led her to believe that every other human did as well. How strange that some didn’t. Than again humans were in fact one of the stranger races of the galaxy. Maybe though this girl was simply shy or like the excuse she had said and was embarrassed herself around people? Interesting as it was she would needed to study the race of humanity more. She couldn’t tell fully of what they were capable of just yet, but one day she would be able to know. It just was going to take time until then, time before such could be conceived. After all, she was designed to bring a balance to this universe, surely one day she would gain the knowledge of all these living beings..
“Heh maybe we're just both lonely people who just needed a good talk then. I can say the same that I haven’t had this interesting of a conversation in a long long time. I actually don't even remember the last one.” Duvainel would say with that very same slightly twisted truth. She really couldn’t remember one since she had only been created what a month ago? Who was she going to have a conversation with after all if she hadn’t been fully living. Heck if she hadn’t been fully conscious yet after all. It was rather hard to talk after without having been given a mouth yet. Still Duvainel had been one of the persistent ones after all. She hadn’t been replaced with the Mark III yet so that was a good sign that she was in fact doing good now still. Her primary objective, as long as she stayed on task, hopefully her creator wouldn’t have a reason to activate the Code Zero Virus inside of her.
Next it seemed an answer to her own about the cold. “Wow I wish I could have built one up, despite living up here. Can’t say I favor the cold too much. Hopefully I’ll have as good a tolerance as you do. Now that would be something I would be thankful for.” Duvainel would say with quite the smile on her face. One simply filled with that joy. Even if this body was a fake one assembled merely from the mass of bio energy that she was made of. The emotions it were linked to were typically her real emotions. One of the main reasons why even with the disguise she had to hold the part of an actual disguise. One could only imagine the disaster that could happen. That was only her secondary concern. Her primary one was simply the replacement of herself with a Mark III. She didn’t know what happened to those replaced, she did know though that everyone who had been replaced with a version higher..well the previous version was never seen again. That was a sign in itself, not to go digging too deep. You never knew what you were going to find. Just that it wasn’t going to be good.
As they began to head off toward the mansion, Duvainel couldn’t help but wonder what it would look like? Was it colorful or was it plain like the rest of the mansions she had seen near the town before. Plain and sometimes even completely abandoned. It was a bit of a sad sight to see sometimes, but hopefully the one Rukia owned wouldn’t be like that. As they would begin to reach closer and closer towards their destination, all of a sudden it seem Rukia chose now to ask a question. Well not so much ask as much as recommend. It was interesting to say at its very least, but surely there was no foul play meant in it hopefully. “A Majin and a Saiyan huh? Must be a pain to keep the place filled with food.” She would say with a slight joking tone to her voice. “A spar in a gravity chamber huh, sounds like fun actually. Count me in. Though I won’t be able to use my full speed with these weights on as well as the gravity. My mother came from a higher gravity planet, hence why my speed can be faster. Though under gravity once more I will guarantee I will be slower in movement. Science, I guess that is what somebody could call it. Still I do look forward to one day meeting your servants, from the sound of it they definitely seem interesting at the slightest bits.” Duvainel would say with her continued smile as she continued to follow Rukia.
It might have been surprising to any normal human how fast they were moving across the landscape, but then again these two weren’t exactly normal now were they. Finally it seemed though they had arrived and not a single moment too soon. The place was indeed massive and as she was led inside. She couldn’t help but marvel at the beauty of it. She had never been inside one and the emotion on her face was real. She truly was amazed at it. As Rukia mentioned more of her servants she felt it was polite to add on. “I’m sure if they're interested enough they will find us eventually. I must say though, this place is quite beautiful, I’ve never seen one on the inside before.” She would say with a polite smile. That same polite smile she had gave many times before. Even as they passed through the halls she couldn’t help but wonder why there were so many pictures of a city. One she didn’t quite recognize. “Rukia if you don’t mind me asking, what are all these photographs for? Are you a photographer?” Duvainel would ask rather gently, she didn’t want to step too much on anyone’s shoes. “Well advice? I guess I really don’t know what kind of advice I can offer, I mean you really do seem well prepared here. More surely than most I guess.” She would say as she studied Rukia, She was not blind enough to notice that increase in speed. Was this what she meant by being stronger than she looked? How interesting that they both shared the same situation.
She couldn't really think of a situation where that was appropriate, actually. It implied a certain weakness, a vulnerability, that she could be manipulated in a place that she normally kept separate from her affairs. That was a mistake to sorely believe in.
Though what the girl said was somewhat true. Her entertainment when it came to conversations, whether in this private life, or her normal one, didn't stem too far. Easier to entertain her own thoughts and dreams, than having to rely on someone else.
"There's more suitable words, but I can't say you're not right."
The pinkette's words also held some embarrassment to them, the more she continued to think about it on a personal level, bringing a tinge of pink to her pale skin. She might have still been working on it, but being single wasn't exactly that bad.
Hearing it be said with such care though, was rather different. Really continued to demonstrate just how honest the girl really was. What had been said about the girl not being able to recall a conversation she liked, she didn't find unusual.
It was rather easy for the mind to forget what it wasn't interested in. Some people more than others. But it was just as easy to at least jog a bit of an image, to said event as well, for the most part. With the girl being from space, and no doubt having faced danger, judging by the separation from her parents, there were a lot of more important things to be worrying about.
"It's simpler to move, costly as it can be. Though I'd imagine the cold around here is a bit of an acquired taste most here are used to."
Her half-truths, didn't really bother her, like it might some people. Becoming a Vampire was one of the most difficult things that could be done. While she didn't take part in every annual culling, it was pretty obvious you needed more than physical strength to survive. She had both seen and dealt death upon others herself, in order to ensure the status quo of her own kin.
It wasn't really something she agreed with, but she saw enough reasoning in there, that it wasn't something that she opposed. One reason her morals and dreams were quite different than others. Attachment and finances were the only things she could really think of, as to why the girl continued to still live in this place, despite showing discomfort of the conditions that were around here.
Neither were really things that could be let go off-handedly, and both had costs to doing so, whether positive or not. Being born and raised in West City, it was a place that she would always vouch for. Though she recognized places like East City and the Southern Islands, were also good to live in. The latter was likely more costly however, being an island and all.
"It is, but it helps to discipline them."
Her Saiyan servant, was really the one who ate the most. But with the number of servants she imagined herself having in the future, and her base of operations expanding to something better, she would have enough finances and resources for more than just three people. Of who might or might not have the same kind of appetite as the Saiyan did. Only time could really tell.
With her current finances however, she wasn't above having to steal or unnecessarily hunt down game. It might have attracted attention they didn't need, and somewhat influenced the economy, but who really had enough power to stop them from doing so?
"It's nothing to worry about. I usually allow my guests to be the ones striking me, and having them dodge mine."
Excluding the Namekian, and a few others, most of those she invited however, didn't compare to her strength at all. It was the reason she never had to willingly go into a bloodfrenzy, since she had yet to meet anyone who could give her a challenge.
Though there was also the fact that while big, the gravity room wasn't a place where a person could go all out. Not unless she wanted to put her finances into repairs, like she had done several times in the past, from being interested in a session.
Things that would change when she had the proper finances, which would take her months. But the work that she would put in to get it, eventually would pay off when she grew more in power and resources. Long life or not, it was better to start while she could.
"It comes with power. Especially for those of us our age."
There were plenty of things in the world that couldn't be done legally, for a number of good reasons, such as different maturity rates, or responsibilities. Money was universal and the source of everything. Stuff can be taken by force with the right power, but it wasn't the best method of doing so. Easier to convince someone to give stuff, than it would be to take something by force.
It was a different sense of attachment, to take the belongings of another, that someone else had worked for. Reasonably, just about anybody would be upset, no matter how slight, or whether or not they had enough wealth to replace what was taken from them.
"I appreciate your assumption, but I'd rather hire for simple things like these. They're positions of power I plan to claim in the future."
It wasn't a perfect shot, since she had to find somewhat close buildings to sit ontop of to take it, or ask for assistance from her allies, but they worked. Notable places like the Capsule Corp building, their military, and monarch, would all be good to have some partnership with. She saw both finance and minions with these several choices, which were only a few of many she had in mind.
The curiosity shown by the other girl, was something which she had very much appreciated. Despite not showing much signs of being hesitant, too many of those she invited to this mansion, were respectful to the point where they were afraid to ask questions.
Made it difficult to have some kind of partnership beyond the allies she currently had. Finding like-minded individuals like her, wasn't a priority, but it certainly was a prospect that she was interested in. Would make life easier for her in the future.
As the girl answered her next question, and she stopped hiding what strength she had left, one mug of hot chocolate was taken a sip of, while the other was near the pinkette. She was comfortable, but cautiously so, knowing that too much could lead to laziness.
"For the most part. The army and servants I have in mind, extend well beyond the size of this place. But it's time and effort that can't be obtained as easily as something like allies."
Barely a portion was taken from the mug, which was placed down after, as she saw the opportunity to propose an agreement. She had no expectations for what she wanted to ask, though even with a rejection, it was far less insulting than when the Namekian had.
If only because she knew there was only so much that could be manipulated, when it came to the man. The pinkette and her honesty however, could potentially serve to be a valuable partnership, though it certainly wouldn't come without any sacrifices.
"If you're willing, I'd like to propose a partnership of sorts. In return for your assistance in opportune times, I can offer at least 5 grand of zeni a week, starting after I procure a more sizable amount of servants, and reach to space."
That was a twenty five thousand a month investment which she could keep for herself. Finance which she was betting she could obtain with the right resources and production in the right places. Legally as well, though she wasn't opposed to doing otherwise.
A rather bold move, but for someone who wanted to be in a position of power like her, this amount was supposed to be like spare change for her. Not at all an easy task, but there were people out there who were charged loans worth a whole lot more.
What power she currently had, was certainly something which could tip luck in her favor. Responsibility she just wasn't yet old enough for, could just be passed onto her parents. There were likely flaws to be had somewhere, but her lifespan as a Vampire was long enough to deal with the repercussions that could be imposed on her. And this was still mostly just working off of theory.
Reasoning was what she stuck with the most, and something needed in a society where work determines how comfortable life was. Her age limited her in ways she couldn't yet hope to see or learn, but no one was perfect. These expectations and beliefs she had, were just full of confidence, which many were too scared, or lacked the power and boldness to really impose on themselves.
A matter which she disagreed differently about. No matter what the girl's answer was, conversation on the way here, and what was to come from this proposal, was enough for a change in scenery. The other girl should have gotten warm enough, and if not, then she certainly would be, through this spar she had in mind for her. Likely nothing better to get the blood flow circulating around.
"I'd say we've been here long enough to move onto other affairs. Follow me to the gravity room."
(It's fine. These things take awhile. Depending on how fast Maiz gets beat up, I'm going with the assumption of 4 for her, and 4 for Rukia. Everybody basically just need to be exhausted by the end of the thread.)
Rukia, a being who held power and yet didn’t show it freely. She truly was a mystery that Duvainel felt a curious need towards unraveling, Someone with such a firm hold towards what they desired truly was an interesting one she could agree with. It was something she desired very well herself. Something she was positive on doing so at the cost of whatever was necessary. The kind of information they could hold was possibly something valuable in her own quest later on. She couldn’t help but weld that information deep into her memory and think upon it. If this person truly was..a friend..then maybe they would be able to help her in the future. She still held thoughts of the kill switch inside of her. If Rukia could help her with it in the future, she would be free of her creator’s control. She wouldn’t have to worry of being converted into a mark three. Her number one fear could possibly be gone in a mere amount of time.
“Heh I suppose it would be simpler just to move someplace, warmer. However if someone went somewhere warmer, you would really be able to get the isolation you desire. Personally that's one of the main reasons I stay around here. In a way I suppose it is technically my home in a way.” Duvainel would say in a thoughtful voice as she thought of her arrival here so far. It was strange how she had been here what, for only a couple of weeks? Yet she was finding this small town her home almost in thought. It was so strange and yet maybe it was just a tinge of genetic memory maybe just longing for such a home. So much about this place kept her being dragged back here, she just couldn’t help but place though. She couldn’t have been growing fond of it though, it was just a place of rest after all. Not anywhere permanent for sure. Maybe it was something even about the pain of the cold that made her stayed here? No, she had to toughen it, make sure she could stand up to the elements for the fights to come.
They got back to their conversation onwards though with the two hungry servants. “I imagine it must have taken quite a bit of discipline to get them to work out here properly.” It quickly however was moved on to their talk further on the gravity chamber. “So you let your guest strike you and have them dodge your attacks? I imagine you must be quite strong if you allow them to have the first strike. Most who were inexperienced would typically choose for that.” Duvainel would state with her own little study of the order Rukia had chosen for her words. “Well then if it comes with power, surely it must require a patience of mind as well, hopefully with some practice with this weighted clothing on, I will be able to keep up in both aspects. Mind over body after all, don’t want to grow too strong too fast and not have full control of how hard I push something.” She would make a statement as she took a sip of the hot cocoa. It truly was nice having the taste of such a warm drink, and then her eyes busted forward as she felt Rukia’s massive ki. “Rukia wow, I had no idea you were so strong, I’ve not met a human as strong as what I can feel radiating from you.” Duvainel would say in true shock, she hadn’t met a human yet who was so strong!
“Rukia I have a counter offer for you, five grand is a lot, so how about in exchange, we half it. Two point five grand a week, however I also want to form this as a Bounty Deal, essentially we will each tell each other one secret, and the secrets will be kept safe as long as the deal is kept honored. Since I offered it first, I will first say my secret before you decide. The truth is, I wasn’t naturally created, while I do have parents yes, I was biologically created. Each piece of DNA inside of me was designed from strands of my parents own. That is the real reason why my blood is so acidic. I trust you can keep this a secret please, I’ve had enough scientist try to poke and prod at me before at whatever cost, hence why my ship was crash landed here and my parents..were gone.” She would say simply as she began to follow Rukia towards the gravity chamber, it was time for bets in the chamber.
A saying which she found to be true to her own views, knowing the kind of traveling she had to do, in her search of allies. While it was wonderful being able to see all these new places, and potentially meet beings from space whose styles she wasn't aware of how to deal with, nothing would be better than to do so within her hometown.
But convenience just wasn't the way the world worked. There had been countless times where she had both baited and sensed for power levels greater than her own, only to fail in doing so due to a number of circumstances, that related to those she was looking for, to hide theirs for their own reasons. She doubted West City had anyone worth her time.
"So long as you're content."
Because that was the thing about decisions. To not find satisfaction in one, but not choosing the opportunity to change that, when the choices were available to do so, there must have been some pleasure in deciding against it.
From the pinkette's words, this place, cold as it was, seemed to be one the girl could go back to if she ever left. There was familiarity here, and the kind that had the attachment which even someone new to the place could fall for.
It wasn't just the power she had, which kept those who served her in line. When she sparred against them, the kind of effort that went into things wiped away any chance to do any taunting, or be able to hold any kind of conversation.
Her focus was poured in dishing out what she could, and savoring the blows that were dealt. From the way it looked, down to how it must have felt for her opponent. The separation between their relationship was something only in the back of her mind in these instances. Still conscious, but hardly anything that would serve to hold her back.
"It helps not to have a winner."
What bouts she did get into with her servants, was one which ended only because both sides were driven to exhaustion. The Majin might not have cared who won or who lost, but the Saiyan had considered it to just be something to beat.
With it being apart of the girl's culture, that kind of thing had to be accommodated. She didn't need the girl to go on some kind of rampage, just because of something trivial like not being able to win just one match.
So long as some growth was done, she didn't care either. It was rather easy to tell that something wasn't going to be all for nothing, when she had woke up the next day, and it was painful to even move. What injuries she suffered would still be around, though hardly painful enough to where she couldn't cover it up until it fully healed.
Certainly reminded her of just how much useful a healing tank would be. The observation the pinkette had of the way her sparring sessions went, couldn't have been more accurate. Though it was certainly missing a detail.
"You would be right. But what blows I take is also a reminder that there will be growth."
The earth saying that there wasn't any gains without pain, she found to be true. The problem was being willing to be injured in the first place, and the repercussions that come with healing, without the proper equipment.
A good hit to the gut could certainly do good in making one cough up blood, and to have to endure that feeling because one didn't have the proper aid to tend to it, was a risk that many wouldn't get themselves into.
A well and good reason she was often reminded of by her cousin, who although approved, still let it be known that what she was doing was crazy to go through. Something she should give credit to being a Vampire and not some miracle.
All things that she had come to know full well after being turned. Everything that she had been able to do, she had only been able to endure it the way she had because she was no longer human, no matter how similar in appearance she still had to one. Her thoughts were still mostly the same, but confidence drove her to taking risks.
"That's where I would disagree with you. There might be risks with excelled growth, but it's nothing I don't see time fixing. Even without an opponent it should still be manageable to have some kind of progress."
The idea that with strength came the lack of control, wasn't exactly an exaggeration, though as strong as she currently was, she hadn't yet faced such an issue. This interpretation gave off the image of being unable to even open doors without accidentally crushing it or snapping it off. Rather inconvenient and difficult to live with.
Releasing her true power, as casual as she saw it, was different in the pinkette's eyes. It wasn't one she wasn't used to, but the thing that stood out to her, was how the girl had outright stated she was human. While she didn't have any intentions on revealing it through her own words before, it was only because she hadn't been referred as one yet.
She remained silent about it at the moment, wanting to at least get her proposal out first, which she wanted to believe had masked how odd she was feeling, at having to put something like that off. They were already on the move towards the gravity room, as she allowed the girl some time to decide, knowing just how upfront the offer was in the first place. It certainly would take a lot of commitment if accepted, which was really the point in the first place.
Though as she led the way towards the gravity room, she thought about how it wasn't an offer that needed privacy either. At least, up until the pinkette had made her counter-offer, not only being willing to cut what she proposed in half, but also an extra deal that involved both she and the girl sharing and keeping a secret of theirs.
This girl was really an other-wordly level of nice. It was just incredible how she still didn't seem to feel any selfish intentions behind this counter-offer, like one would expect to come from offering such things to someone.
"So you're a test tube baby."
What the girl had revealed of herself, came out sounding as if there had been some kind of lie, but hearing what was being said, she couldn't help but equate it as such. From what she had managed to get out from her Saiyan servant, the younger girl had also been artificially incubated in a tube, which was why her words was more of a statement.
With this assumption, she thought it was fitting with the girl's personality, that the pinkette would find something like this to be a secret, which needed to be kept. From the sounds of it, this had to have been because of experience, both hearing and knowing that this was info the girl didn't want to share with anyone other than with her.
But it was fine. If anything, it made it easier to reveal that she was a Vampire. Though it certainly wasn't going to be something she would count as the secret they agreed on, since it was several minutes overdue in saying so anyway.
"I don't see it too different from a Saiyan being artificially incubated, but your secret will be safe. It's the least that I can do, seeing as how you're willing to cut the idea of payment in half. I won't count this as my secret, and know that I would have answered if you asked earlier, but I'm not a human. I'm a Vampire."
Though it was info that her kin wanted to be kept underwraps, one of her aspirations was to have them be recognized the same way aliens like Saiyans were known throughout the universe. Everyone she had invited to the mansion in the past, and will invite in the future, would know of this fact about her, or would at least eventually find out.
There was no hiding some of the vampiric traits she was able to show, unless she was doing her hardest to do so, like when she was at school. Her fangs, on occasion, could be retracted based on her emotions, and a big giveaway.
"As for a secret of my own that would be worth your time, I suppose it would be these nightmares I get, where I kill those I have attachment to, with my face both monstrous and hideous. It's too early for you to really know this about me, but I tend to bottle things of similar sort up, and for good reason."
If there was something she had to admit which she considered to be a secret, this was it. The girl could have any interpretations she wanted about it, but the fact of the matter was, it wouldn't change how when it came to her own issues, they weren't something which she would reveal what she was dealing with. Nor did she think she needed to.
What problems she had, like this nightmare thing, was what she would either consider to be a mental block of sorts, or an issue that would be handled on its own. Perhaps even better off just bottling it up than letting it go.
Fears and anger that she could have possibly used. Might not be the way she wanted it to, but the difference between knowing something and changing it, was that she wasn't willing to. It was much easier to deal with the issues of others than her own, which would in a way put others first, despite seeing those she resided with as below her.
Reaching the hall that the gravity room was located in, she opened the doors, temporarily filling the halls with the sounds of training within. Allowing the girl to step inside first, the sight of both her Majin and Saiyan servants fighting had greeted them, as fists were dodged left and right, with the Majin occasionally absorbing it with flesh.
They didn't stop when they had came in, though there wasn't really a need to either. Going within the gravity's range to get her body adjusted to it, knowing she wasn't going to be fighting just yet, her head turned to the pinkette.
"Since you're not like the other guests, I'll let you decide which ones you want to go for."
“Yeah I would be willing to say I’m pretty content here, something about the quiet of it. I don’t know, I suppose it’s just something peaceful?” She would say with the bits of a smile as she thought of it. If one day she could eradicate all that was good throughout the world. All that was evil as well, she truly could look forward to living here in this town. It wasn’t at all like it was a bad place to live. Frankly she could look forward to it as well. It gave her another thing to fight towards now didn’t it? One day she could retire to here, free from her master’s control one day. Free of the fear of the Kill Switch inside of her, free of the fear of becoming the Mark III. It was a peaceful life she sought, after an eventual war of epic proportions, she sought that eventual retirement to this life. A life of simple work. A life of a job she desired.
Maybe she would be able to unlock more of the hidden memories her creator locked away as well? It wasn’t outside the realm of possibility. Maybe her creator had made an error when she was designed? What if completing her genetic DNA would allow her to unlock these memories to their fullest. Sort of like a coded sequence perhaps? If so then there was a chance, and when there was a scientific chance that meant she could very well reach such eventually. No matter how many tries would take it. Until she could ask her friend of the favor though, she needed to grow stronger. Unlock more of her DNA, enough so that she could be strong, but not strong enough yet that her creator would see her as a threat that needed to be destroyed. She to play those card right, right so she could live on for another day. For every day longer she lived, the closer she got to having her dreams become a reality.
As she continued to follow Rukia towards the gravity chamber, she couldn’t help but nod at Rukia’s explanations. She sure seemed to know quite a bit about training. It was frankly quite fascinating to say in the slightest bits of reasoning. At least to her it was quite so. “I must have mis said what I meant there, I meant more that while excelled growth might be something time will heal. The percentage gained while sacrificing time lost due to recovery, is actually rather less than if one was to manage their training correctly and effectively. While having any progress in indeed a success, personally I feel it almost doesn’t matter if said success causes me to slow down for my next training exercise significantly. Heh, if I had to count the amount of windows I’ve broken in my home, simply from not realizing my own speed. Well I would be right well in the hundreds. Still I can understand what you mean by that, frankly I’ve never tried gravity training before and from the sound of it, you have in fact done so quite a bit.” Duvainel would say in a merely amusing opinion as she thought about what her friend had spoke of.
“If you don’t mind me asking a personal question? What was it like for you the first time training in higher forms of gravity?” She would ask the simple question only to hear what Rukia would state of her own secret. Comparing it to that of a saiyans. It would have been so easy to just lie there..to say that’s what she meant alright, but that wouldn’t be right. That would be breaking the bond they had just formed over their exchange. “I am a test tube baby essentially, however the way you stated is actually wrong. I’m not artificially incubated, I was artificially created. I suppose another term for it would be a synthezoid, a synthe. Ever single piece of my DNA was artificially constructed from my two parents. A saiyan is what is artificially incubated, aka, they were born naturally and raised inside those tubes so their parents didn’t have to provide while they grew. However it does come with a cost, my DNA is very much incomplete. I have to eat creatures that would contain the remaining pieces of DNA inside of me for myself to be as one would put...complete. It’s actually a bit similar in a way..to how a vampire like you would gain blood. You talk about seeing yourself as a monster in your nightmares, that...unfortunately is what I really look like, what I would be considered. This form is merely a factor of my shapeshifting that allows me to assume a form of what a child between my parents would look like. It’s what I’ve been using to fit in. That’s always what I’ve wanted, to fit in.” She would say as she even surprised herself with that last statement. Where did that come from? That...wasn’t a part of her typical personality she had been designed with. Who’s thought was that even? It had even felt similar to one of those visions?
As Rukia would allow her the choice of who she wanted to battle. It tooth very thought power inside of her as she thought between the two. Defensive and offensive were her two choices. She supposed may she could the extra offensive power to cover her own personal defense. It really couldn’t have hurt to experience such. Combat styles. In fact she saw it simply as a variant into a look forward for the future. With the help of Rukia, she was positive that she would have her completed DNA very soon in the future, the better it was the more she could completed it. The more complete she could get, the more memories she could unlock, and the closer she would be in her step towards her own personal dream. The thought personally to her was rather well pleasing. “I will take the saiyan on for a match.”
What troubles they shared involved matters that the average human would consider to be supernatural. Displaying feats of great speed and strength, were abilities that most would only be able to dream of, rather pursuing normal jobs and a normal life, instead of the kind of danger and exploration that can come with such abilities.
This played a big role in their discussion, but wasn't the only thing. The dialect that the pinkette was using, was one that some might find difficult to keep up with. They had meaning behind it, and one that held such an analytical approach to things. Most responses are usually ones that could be brushed off, and be done with it.
For her to have misunderstood, goes to show just how much the other girl was paying attention to what was being said. When said with the kind of spirit that her guest held, this correction had came across more like a new insight, than something meant to be offensive. Which she highly doubted had been the intention here with where things had led.
Intellect and reasoning were two of the qualities she appreciated the most with coming across, but with it, was also the chance of wanting to one up the individual in question. An ignition that would kick off if the appropriate behavior was displayed. She could count the number on her hands of how many viewed her in a way she didn't like, even after revealing the kind of person she really was in her own home. The kind of respect that wasn't shown to her, because those of this sort really believed that they were on an equal standing, despite various factors.
Ones which demonstrated the fact of the matter was, it was few and between of a chance she would encounter someone above her own level, while also inviting them into her home. Those with that kind of power, to be limited in what space the gravity room had, wouldn't do her any good. The restrictions were one that brutes wouldn't abide by, nor have the decency to care for, no matter how promising an offer, that training would go and do some good.
More than likely, when she had reached the level she had dreamed of, she would be leaving behind such wakes along her path. Consideration would be given, if it meant meeting her demand, which like most, she saw as reasonable.
"It depends on the model, from what I've gathered. There are those who launch simulations, able to take those using it to false realities, which as fanciful it may be, I'd hate to be under the illusions of a machine. The model you'll find here, will be a constant weight on the limb, that had something as simple as moving difficult."
The images that came to her mind as she spoke, was her recollection of her arm just being positioned in the air, with the heavy pull using what strength she had, only barely moving away from its original position. Given a couple of minutes, or some ki flaring around if one was impatient, the body would adjust, but that feeling was one that stuck.
Those who were able to make simulations, as far as she had heard, didn't have to go through with this kind of thing. They were just given false realities to shoot in as they please, moving around like it was nothing, with only some weight on their shoulders. Compared to her machine's own model, they certainly wouldn't know pain or struggling if it hit them on the head. This was the cost of having the weight of the planet on her shoulders, times a multiplier.
"The body will adjust and all, but that feeling will still be around. Unlike the other model I've only heard about, this is one really meant to work up a sweat, and test one's resolve. A Namekian I invited once, managed to cough up some blood from the weight on his lungs. But he, like some stubborn others, refused to rest when it was offered. It's difficult not to be displeased of a guest who wants to prove something they don't have to."
That sort of consequence was just inevitable when it came to not being used to something though. If one was strong enough, she could understand there being a weight on the lungs or ribs at best, but it wasn't to be ignored.
Space wasn't breathable by the average species for a reason. To believe that something designed to tear down one's own will wouldn't have certain side-effects, long-lasting or not, was ridiculous. Durability was an extent, not infinite.
"Creation or not, it's difficult not to feel the kind of spirit that you're exuding. I..can't really say I'm keen on seeing what you consider to be an incomplete form, but I assume it's not as limiting as the Majin's shapeshifting, which still leaves behind the fleshy color, and other notable traits."
No matter what, reason was still something she looked for, even with her own words. What she pointed out was meant to be comforting in a way that addressed what she believed to be something that was factual based on what she knew and was hearing. It wasn't one she really minded more input on, but they were starting to get down to things.
However those two went about a spar with the pinkette, it would be reasonably out of her control.
Dripping warmth.
Numerous amounts poured from her body, and slid down her skin, where the pieces of armor she wore caught what came out. What she considered to be a light workout, if anything else, knowing that her face wasn't burning up the way it would with the Vampire. A disgruntled sneer was shot at the receding pink flesh that fell by her feet.
How much longer was that girl going to take? The parts of the Majin she had tore away, weren't moving as fast as they had been earlier. A sight that made her want to latch out at it again, pinning it down with her hands.
It was the only entertaining thing around, knowing that sinking in and reforming were the extent of tricks her opponent had. If they went about it any longer, she would have to go and bite one of the Majin's parts again.
Raw flesh tasted awful, but it wasn't anything that couldn't be swallowed. The way it fought back and squirmed around in her grip, was what made it something that was worth her time. There was life to take away, and pleasure for her to relish in, as her fists made contact. The body part of the Majin slithered away back to its owner, who was breathing the heaviest between the two of them. Those red eyes were no longer like her own. She saw weakness in them.
The warmth that had been built up in her cheeks, was nothing more than a reminder that she wasn't done here yet. Under the weight of fourteen times gravity, which pulled at her muscles and fought to hold her from moving anywhere, she had charged at her opponent, ki flaring around her fiercely. Her hair momentarily rose as the current in the air changed, settling down in time with her fists thrown out at the Majin sitting on the ground. Bits and pieces of body parts flew, as the girl had deformed, but the speed and effort which she took in dealing her blows, didn't die down.
Pink flesh wrapped around her arm, using it as a leverage to help the Majin get up from the floor. She could feel the mass of flesh sinking around, that the lower half of the girl's body had become to pull off this action.
Splattering away like a puddle, the flesh tried to regenerate itself quick enough to have some kind of hold or pull onto her. But each punch she gave was meant to hurt in ways that would force the Majin to heal over the damage first.
She felt life flow through her, eyes locking onto each piece that chose to recede back. Her breathing increased by the second, and as she reeled back her fists for another punch, she found that the girl's efforts was directed to stopping it in place. Though frozen in air, it was a mistake if the Majin really believe that things would really be over now.
Kicking into the mass of flesh, which was concentrated more in the upper body than the lower half, it splattered like the way the arms had, but with it was also her feeling the girl's own pain-driven grip. The Majin was too weak to put her into danger behind this, and most of the pain that was shooting through her arms now, came from the gravity.
Her body had adjusted, but its presence was still there, waiting to be ignited. Forcing her arms back and moving in the same direction, she watched with warmer cheeks as the mass of flesh receded back, and quickly reformed.
There was pain on the Majin's face, but it was one that was shouldered. Lightly rubbing at her armband, which was moist, she charged back towards her opponent again. The girl would have to keep trying, if she thought that would be enough. Her fist had hit nothing but air, as the Majin kept jumping back, simultaneously regenerating what she could.
One after another, she had failed, which only served to fuel the warmth in her body. It had been a light presence, but the ki of the Vampire, and one she didn't recognize, appeared back behind her. Words were exchanged, but they escaped her ears, as her attention was focused on landing what would be a final blow towards the Majin, before it was called.
What the Vampire had to say, couldn't have been too different from the last couple of 'visits' anyway. Whatever kind of being it was this time, she didn't want to meet another one of her own. That last one had talked too much.
From the corner of her eye, and the moving around the Majin was making her go through, she could see the Vampire moving through, heading towards the gravity machine. Her presence was very noticeable, with the way the girl didn't bother hiding her power. She couldn't help but notice herself cooling down, as she took less interest in the Majin, who was being worn out, and pushed to the brink of what the girl considered to be something normal for her.
Her ki flared around her, and lunging forward, she had managed to struck the Majin, sending the girl flying forward. Rather than be turned off, the weight on their shoulders had actually lessened from what she had been in for awhile now, catching her body off guard, as her legs buckled. A glare was shot at the Vampire, after recovering.
"If you can still go another round, you'll be fighting her."
The smile that crept onto the brunette's face, was one that was dismissive in every regard, and the tone behind it was one that said the girl's time shouldn't be wasted. It was easy to want to lunge out at the Vampire, but even better was getting to fight whatever the girl brought home. Eyes turning to their guest, whose pink hair had almost made her mistake her for the one the Vampire was associated with, if not for the different kind of eyes this one had.
"I'll be beat her weights until they're useless."
She charged straight at the pinkette.
