Now that Athren had mastered the first stage of his Gravity Chambers capablities it was now time for him to move onto the next stage. With the help of the saiyan named Orio, Athren had managed to conquer the setting of Ten Times Earths gravity. It wasn't the easiest thing in the world to do, nor was it the hardest. You see, Athren's home planet Vegeta had the gravity that was ten times Earths. Athren had already been adapted to it, the factor that made it somewhat difficult was that years had gone by since he had been put under that pressure. His body had grown soft. Though, with his will and determination the saiyan put himself back in his rightful environment, the one the prince belonged in. It had felt good to bring his body back to the environment he had spent most of his time on, After all. It would look extremely pathetic if he had managed to land on Vegeta and struggle to walk. What would the saiyans have thought of him then? That though running through Athren's head had made him even more sure in his decision to not pursuit the throne, it had made him at ease that he decided to focus on transforming into the legendary super saiyan instead of chasing after his mothers ideals. He was his own warrior, he had chosen to live like it. In all honesty, What would he become if he let his mother chose his destiny? Sure, she might have been a great leader and queen but she wasn't a good mother. Even to saiyan standards, she was awful. Regardless of all the minor details though, Athren respected her choices and her actions that forced him into the position he was now. He struggled plenty and he became an exceptional fighter.
He was proud of himself and even prouder in his decision to pursuit another path. Surely, he'd rise to become one of the strongest fighters in the universe. Where he'd align that future power, he wasn't sure. Time would be the deciding factor in that, with time would come special events that sent a ripple through the course of Athren's destiny. Who knew, maybe he'd find a special someone and settle down on Earth and spend the rest of his life defending the beautiful land or maybe he'd be convinced to destroy it. The options were endless. All Athren knew was that he needed to acquire the power before making any decisions on how to use it. He understood full that it was a very long way away, it wouldn't come over night nor would it be effortless. He was completely aware that this goal of his would require all of his efforts and attention. He'd have to train as hard as he could on a daily basis to achieve the power level and transformation he wanted. As physically demanding as the task was going to be, he'd also have to be mentally prepared for it. He couldn't expect it to happen at any certaint point, it would come to him when the time was right. When his body could handle all that power flowing through him. He used the concept of a fire to justify it, sometimes it takes more than one spark to light a fire and even then, sometimes one needed gasoline to start a fire. Athren was also fully aware that things didn't always go as planned, he needed to be patient with himself and patient with his trainings if he wanted to pull this off correctly. Though, with his pride that would be difficult. Surely, if Athren were to have a long period without results he'd begin to question his methods and how effective they are. This would send the saiyan prince into a spiral of doubts within himself and in turn, that would decrease his training efforts and methods. To be honest, he debated on taking some advice from Atsuko. He debating on mediation if things were becoming too heavy on him, if his plans weren't working out. If she claimed that mediating can keep ones emotions in check, he'd surely attempt it in the worst case scenario. Though, he wouldn't ever admit to her that the idea was sitting in the back of his mind. If his progress wasn't going the way he had pictured it, he'd need to keep his emotions in check somehow, he'd need to stay calm. Hmph, It had appeared she was a better asset to him than he had thought. Sure, she was easy on the eyes but for the most part she was quite annoying but regardless of this, she had given the young prince an alternative path to keep himself calm, one that wouldn't require him to go blasting countless innocent Earthlings. It was a good thing too, if it had come to the point where Athren needed to relieve stress and he ended up taking it out on the Earthlings, there was a good chance he'd begin a conflict between both him and Tau and him and Atsuko. Neither of these would have been good decision, this would have been due to both of them trumping Athren in strength. This was enough to drive the young saiyan warrior absolutely mad. How could they achieve such a high power level while he was left behind to eat their dust? Even if Athren had decided to protect the Earth, what good would he do when they'd simply beat him to the opponent. Damn it, surely it wasn't right. Since when had Earthlings been on top of the pecking order? It wasn't supposed to be like this, the saiyan race wasn't supposed to be trailing behind anybody, especially not Earthlings! Blast, It wasn't fair!
Athren wouldn't allow himself to be made a fool of or to be left behind. It wasn't something he would accept nor let happen. He was going to surpass them all, he was going to become the most powerful being in the universe and he had all the tools to do it. With the combined efforts of his heavy weighted gear and his gravity chamber, surely he'd catch up in a very short period of time. They'd never lip off to him again without consequence. He'd show them who the boss was and why to show the Prince some respect. Currently, Athren had been standing in his Gravity Chamber. This is where all these crazy thoughts had been rolling through the young warriors head. His posture and attitude were firm. His arms were crossed as his heavy weights attempted to bring his body down towards the ground. Of course, Athren wasn't going to let his weights have any kind of pull on him. Athren's stance was that of his usual and his ocean blue eyes were locked onto the blank wall that was in front of him. It wasn't that he had found it appealing, it was simply that he was lost in thought. The only motion from the saiyan would be his blinking every now and then. He continued to think of all his options and all his annoyances, they ran through his mind like a river about to meet a cliffs edge. Rapidly changing and fast. It wasn't the most entertaining time but this was something that needed to be done. He needed to know he was aware of all the circumstances effecting his training. He couldn't help but debate on whether or not he should cut some out of his life, hell. He even debating on blasting into space for a while where he could train all by himself without distraction. Sure, Orio's assistance yesterday was quite useful but Athren couldn't see it working in the long term. Though he was an effective fighter his personality nor his tone didn't rub the Prince right. Just the way he spoke was enough to annoy the prince. It wasn't just that, in fact Athren couldn't find himself in the position to trust a warrior who did what he did for money. There were just too many damn options and things to think about at the moment. "Hmph." Athren mumbled to himself as he began to shake his head lightly to try to bring himself back into the present, the here and now. "Alright, Let's get started." Athren said to himself in a tone that was full of confidence.
To start off his session of training he had figured some stretching would be effective, it would do him good. The last thing he needed was to strain or damage some muscles. If he were to do that he'd either need to push through the trainings at a much higher challenge or rest a few days until his wounds healed. It was truly a double sided blade that could go either way. Regardless of the chance of injury, Athren was damn well sure he'd do his best to avoid it. He didn't want to let anything happen to wreck his training. If there was any chance that he'd be forced to postpone his training he'd surely be angry, and he wouldn't accept it himself. He'd force himself to train even through an injury which could cause more damage. Though he was a proud and eager saiyan, he wasn't always capable of making the best choices for his own benefit. Sometimes he thought choices were in his best interest but completely acted against his best interest. It was kind of funny how it worked but then again, he was occasionally blinded by his pride. Sometimes his pride was one of his greatest assets and at others it was his worst. Before Athren had gotten started he decided to take a deep breath to calm his nerves. They were all quite ancy due to his current processing thoughts. It wasn't easy being a royal blooded saiyan on Earth with countless power levels that made your own seem like it was completely insignificant. To begin his stretches, Athren placed his left arm on his right shoulder and he began to rotate his right arm around in a large, wide, forward circle. He was trying to loosen up his joints and all his muscles to make them prepared for what was to come. Athren intended for this training session to be much more intensive than the last. Hell, he even made sure that the ramp to the ship was declined and that the main entrance hatch was closed and locked shut. At this point, even if a power level did approach he'd simply ignore it. Unless they decided to attack his ship of course. After about twenty five forward arm rotations Athren decided to do it in reverse. He yet again let another twenty five rotations go before calling it quits. Once his right arm was done he repeated the same steps with the left, he could already feel a slight difference in his shoulders after doing the light stretches. From there, Athren bent his leg and brought his right foot up to his rear end, his right hand wrapped around his foot as he stood there solidly for a minute and balanced. It didn't take long but the young fighter shortly moved over to his left leg and repeated the same steps that he had done for his right. After all this was completed Athren tilted his neck back and fourth from the right to the left. In the first two instances Athren could hear his bones crack, the crack echoed throughout the large, quiet, gravity chamber. After all this was completely, Athren leaned forward and bent down. Both of his arms extended as well as his fingers. He tried to touch his toes while keeping his legs completely straight, though he wasn't exactly able to do it the young fighter managed to come up shy by about five inches total. It wasn't bad for his first attempt, yet it wasn't as good as he expected either. The pressure was already on and he was being quite strict with himself. Athren had spent the next ten minutes stretching out various parts of his body to prepare them for the extreme training that was about to come, he didn't want to allow for any chance of failure or damage to his own figure. He couldn't hold off on training any longer than he was already forced too. Now that he had all the equipment, he needed to be damn well sure that he wasn't going to screw it all up. Of course, there was always going to be that chance though. After all of Athren's stretches had been completed he was now prepared to use the Gravity Machine at the twenty times regular gravity. This was double from what him an Orio had played in previously. Surely, it'd be a struggle to even stand. Though even though it was going to be a struggle, the young saiyan warrior was quite welcoming to it. He wanted to accept the challenge with open arms. Now, It was time to get to it.
Taking a deep breath before he gave the command Athren tried to relax for a moment. He had his arms to his sides at the moment, he wanted them to hang free instead of being tied up with one another against his chest. Finally his mouth opened to give the command. "Activate Gravity to Twenty Times regular gravity." With that being said, it was almost immediately after that the robotic voice once again echoed throughout the gravity chamber."Twenty Times regular gravity will be activated in Three.. Two.. One." It paused for a moment as the gravity machine turned on and increased the gravity that was in the room. "Gravity is now at Twenty Times." It was almost immediately that Athren felt his body being pulled down towards the hard tile floor of his ship, his knee's slowly began to buckle as he took a much firmer posture. He wouldn't allow himself to drop to the floor, not yet. All of Athren's muscles tightened firmly, he wasn't going to allow himself to be defeated by the gravity. He struggled quite a bit to keep himself standing, it was much more difficult than he had originally anticipated. It was good though, it was going to benefit him with an incredible result by then end of this. That's really all he wanted so he knew that the struggle he was putting himself through would be well worth it. While the gravity pressed down upon his shoulders Athren figured he'd be best to begin walking around. He had understood fully that he'd have to start with the basic movements and work his way up, that was of course until he was used to the gravity being at this level. Once that point had been reached though, he'd then move onto the next stage and begin the whole process over again. Truly, this was a rinse and repeat scenario. It wasn't all that bad though. The royal blooded saiyan had now begun to take multiple steps forward, each step had taken all of his strength to accomplish. It wasn't only the fact of lifting his leg and moving forward that was difficult, the had to use his arms to keep himself balanced while his weight moved. It wasn't the most simpliest of tasks but it needed to be done. It seemed like each step had taken a year to accomplish, he went at a very slow rate and had only managed to take five steps at this point. He intended to walk around like this up until he could freely move around in the chamber. If he couldn't freely move he wouldn't be able to move up to things he actually wanted to do, he wanted to train intensely, he didn't want to spend his whole day walking around. Step by step Athren continued to make circle laps around his gravity chamber, each step had just as much weight and struggle behind it as the one before. It didn't seem like things had been getting easier and by this point he had been at it for about an hour. The young warrior was getting quite frustrated with everything, he wanted to do something better than this! Blast it, why the hell did this beginning stage have to be so damn time consuming? It was an annoyance! It wasn't fair nor was it proper! At this point Athren would have stubbornly tried to push himself from a very slow walk into a quick sprint, he launched himself forward only to have the weight of the gravity bring his whole body toppling forwards towards the ground. THUD! He collided with the tiles hard, the impact was quite impressive considering he didn't fall all that far. "Damn it!" Athren mumbled to himself as he placed both his palms on the ground to push himself up. Athren had managed to push himself to his knee's but he paused there. He took a small little break and took a deep breath to think about everything. He thought about his goal and how much effort it would take to get him there, this was simply happening to calm himself down. If he got angry or frustrated, his training would be sloppy and all over the place. He needed to maintain a decent speed, he needed to be consistant. After a couple minutes of being down on the floor Athren rose to his feet, the struggle was still there but he had been calmed down. Having being at a relaxed mindstate once more Athren felt as if it had been much easier to rise to his feet. Athren began to take steps around the gravity chamber once more, over a medium period of time Athren had began getting used to the weight. His body seemed to be able to take it and he could move with less of a struggle. It was still very much challenging but at least he could walk freely without doing it slow. It had only taken a few hours to get to that point as well, it was quite nice. He felt free and relieved when the time came. He could now focus on other training methods instead of just walking. The risk of becoming frustrated once more vanished.
Athren now walked over to the room full of training equipment, his eyes scanned the room as he tried to figure out where he wanted to start. The treadmil had absolutely no appeal to the young saiyan warrior. The weights had been quite appealing but he figured he'd stay away from those for a little while. Athren's eyes had set upon something so simple and so basic that he could use to his benefit in many ways. It was a simple bar that was made for chin ups and pull ups. Athren had walked over to it, the effects of the gravity chamber still crashing down upon his shoulders. Athren stood under the bar for a moment, his right forearm came up to wipe the sweat that had build up and began to drip down his face.
Athren took another deep breath as to prepare himself for the task to come. He glanced up at the bar for a moment before he jumped and wrapped both his arms around it. For a second or two he just let himself hang, the gravity wanted to force him back down to the ground but the young saiyan had refused to let it happen. He wouldn't be beat by it. Slowly he began to use the muscles in his arms to pull himself up, it was quite a challenging thing but he wouldn't give into it. Slowly he began to ascend. Inch by Inch Athren rose higher and higher until his chin and been up and over the bar. "One." he counted aloud proudly. Now that he had one of them done Athren began to lower himself. He made sure that he didn't let the gravity be the cause of his drop. He made sure that his arms were the cause of it and that his descent back down was at his own, slow pace. Surely, he succeeded. Though once he was hanging there at his lower point he turned it right around and began to pull himself up once more. He struggled to do so but once more his chin rose above the bar that his hands had gripped all so tightly. "Two.." he counted with a light strain in his voice. He was actually being worked, it was quite impressive to be honest. Sweat rolled down his face again as he repeated this method for quite some time. After about and hours worth of chin up Athren decided to use his one handed method. He began with his right hand gripping the bar while his left just dangled there. This upped the challenge greatly but it still wasn't going to be enough to let him drop. Athren had followed the same procedure as the regular chin ups with this method, he continued to pull himself up and lower himself for quite some time. After the young saiyan had managed to hit the count of two hundred and fifty he decided to swap with to his left hand. Once he had gripped the bar with his left hand and lowered his right Athren repeated the same methods here. He spent the time and repeated pull ups until he once again reached the count of two hundred and fifty. He was making decent progress, the machine was still challenging his might but it was getting easier and easier to move. He felt a nice tingle of pain vibrate through his muscles everytime they were tasked with something though. It was a nice, burning feeling that really made Athren feel as if he was accomplishing something good. Finally Athren had let his feet dropped to the ground again, he began to lightly stretch once more as he wanted to loosen up and see if he could put some of the pain to ease. It had appeared that there wasn't a single chance that any of the pain was going to go away. "Hmph." Athren mumbled to himself as he glared up to look at the bar one more. The young warrior would've got quite the idea. He could use it for more than simple pull ups.
Athren jumped up to grip it one more time as his idea came into his head. He kept his hands spread to each side of the bar from there he brought his legs up and over it. He locked the bar underneath his knee's and kept his legs bent firmly around it to make sure that he had a good, solid grip on it. The last thing he would have wanted was to fall on his face because of something as silly as an improper grip. One he made sure his grip was solid Athren's hand came off the bar and he let his torso and upper body hang straight down. Athren hung there for a few moments on end before he began to make anything of it. After hanging there for about a minute Athren began to do his next work out. He wanted to work his stomach area and make it more durable. The stronger it was, the less effect a solid connecting punch would have against him. All his fingertips rested on the skull of the young saiyan warrior. Once he had been comfortable he began to bring his upper body up towards his feet. Once he did it completely the young saiyan warrior began to count once again. "One.." He said as he then used his muscles to lower his body back down to a fully hanging position. Slowly the young fighter began to bring his body back up again. Once he reached the position he wanted too he counted once again. "Two.." he said as there was a massive strain on his voice from the pain he was putting himself through. It was crazy how hard Athren had been training, he really wanted to reach his goal of super saiyan. Hell, he HAD to reach it. That's all he was living for these days anyway. He didn't give a damn about the throne anymore, just his own well being.
Damn it though! "Rahhh!" Athren grumbled as he lowered himself back down to a fully hanging position once again. It was becoming incredibly more difficult with every single rep he did. His body began to wear down all that much faster. He didn't know how much longer he could keep it up but he refused to stop. He refused to back down. He began to do another rep, his body raised through the sky higher and higher. "RAHH!" He shouted as his stomach ached from the pain in his muscles. Athren had repeated this over three hundred times, to the point where he had even lost count. He refused to stop though, of course that was until a little issue had rose up. He had loosened his grip upon the metal bar and the gravity pulled him towards the ground at a hard rate. His legs came undone from the bar and CRASH! Athren hit the floor once more. The second time for today. "Gah.." Athren groaned lightly as he laid there for a few seconds. "Damn it.." He mumbled again as he arose to his feet. Athren took a moment to take another deep breath, he wanted to give himself a very short period of time to take a break. He didn't want to overwhelm himself yet he wanted to push himself harder.
"I'll give myself a few minutes.. Then I'll move onto something else." Mumbled the saiyan warrior.
After about five minutes had gone by Athren was willing to go back at it. He didn't want a long break, nor did he need one. He just wanted to catch his breath and think for a minute. At this point in time the young saiyan prince wandered over to his weights, there were countless of them on The Nova. From Dumbells to leg weights. It was all here. This place was truly fully loaded, there wasn't a single thing that Athren could think of that it didn't have.
Athren gazed upon his selection of metal dumbells, he wasn't sure of which ones to go with. He didn't want to overkill it yet he didn't want to go all that lightly. "I suppose I'll take the fifties." He mumbled lightly as he gripped a fifty pound weight in his right hand and another fifty pound weight in his left. It was at this point that he walked back over to an empty spot in the room. When he got to the spot the young royal saiyan took another breather. He wanted to keep himself motivated. To do this at this point in time, Athren pictured himself once again with the beautiful glow of a super saiyan surrounding him. After Athren had taken the moment to keep himself in it. He snapped back to reality and began to get back to training. With the weights in hand Athren launched his right foot forward as he stepped forward with his right, he followed up by launching his left fist forward and took a step forward with his left. He once again launched his right foot forward and took another right footed step, he then repeated this with his left foot once more. Athren continued this method as he walked around the gravity chamber. Step by step, fist by fist, Athren made his way around the room time and time again. It was quite repetive but it was helping him to get stronger. Athren had spent roughly a full hour of his time doing this, he didn't give in or back down. He either kept pace or sped up temprarily. He continued to try to push himself again and again. The gravities effects continued to feel more natural, he was finally getting to feel like the twenty times was natural. It was almost second nature to him now. Which was good. As Athren continued the method of training he was doing he began to make his way back to where the weight rack was. It took him about five mintues to reach it at his current pace but when he finally arrived he gently set the weights back down in their holders. He didn't want to drop them down because he wasn't sure if they'd go right through the floor or not. They were heavy as it was but with the gravity turned up? Athren couldn't have been too safe. He'd much rather not fix a hole in his ships floor after a couple days of owning it.
The young, royal blooded saiyan had now come to the conclusion that it was best for him to call it a day. His body was obviously wore down due to the pain he was in. He didn't want to strain any muscles and he had put a full day of training into his chamber. There wasn't anything more to prove today, he figured he'd best go get a nice early sleep and then wake up early to do it all over again. Athren began to walk towards the elevator pad, as he did he began to speak up. "Gravity, Deactivate." With that being said the computer beeped and the electronic voice echoed through the chamber once more. "Gravity, is now Deactivated."
When Athren had reached the lift he extended his right pointer finger and pushed the button to go up to the main level. As the lift rose up, the lights in the gravity chamber had turned off automatically. The young fighter was quite proud with what he had accomplished today, it was quite difficult to substain himself at twenty times normal gravity. Though, at least he could go to sleep happy, knowing that he was one step closer towards his goal.
