Aayla found herself outside of the Satan City hospital once more, fresh bandages adorned her forehead and hidden away underneath her shirt. She could hardly believe that she lost to a bug... a BUG! How was she ever going to get her dojo re-opened if she couldn't even beat a measly bug on her own? She let out an exasperated sigh as she walked down the path that would lead her outside the hospital gates. She needed something to take her mind off of what had happened... She'd love to go out and pamper herself, maybe buy a new outfit, go to the spa and just relax, but along with her village burning down, all her money had gone with it. The only reason she managed to eat at all was because she found herself at the hospital so often.
"This sucks... if I don't do something to get stronger, and something to get money... we're never going to get anywhere... At least Yukio is having better luck than me..." She grumbled as she pulled out a cell phone her brother had given her and quickly checked to see if he had sent her any other messages. Regretfully there were no updates and that just caused her to pout.
She continued to walk through Satan City while looking at her phone, and before she knew it, she found herself back at the city outskirts, facing the forest she had met the creepy bug in. A drop of sweat creeping down her temple.
"How... did I end up here! AHHH I don't want to face that creepy bug agaaaaain!"

Bernael found himself walking through a forest, sighing to himself. He didn't care to be alone in the middle of a forest like this, it reminded him of his times having nightmares in fukurou forest. In fact he needed a friend of some kind to spend time with, but he had just broken away from some of the others and had lost his chance to stay too close to them all. Another sigh crept out of the lips of the demon boy "What a hassle" he said to himself as he came out of the forest. In front of him he saw the outskirts of Satan City. It didn't look like a bad place to end up, was at least better than a desolate cold wasteland filled with angry people.
From so far away, he saw the girl with her blue hair standing on the outskirts, and accidentally mistook her for one of his friends that has a similar hair color, just not the same hair type. He began to jog over there but before long, he noticed the difference in hair and entire appearance, he couldn't believe that he mistook someone for someone else, but at least he stopped himself from mistaking her too closely. So he dropped back into a slow paced walked, aside from the bright hair she looked all around normal. However something seemed to be bothering her, did he remind her of something bad? Or maybe it was the forest itself. Bernael had no idea which it was, but he thought since he had came all that way he might as well check it out.
"Hey ma'am... is something wrong?" he would ask, seeing if he could help in any way. If there was indeed a problem he wanted to at least try and help, he just got done talking with his friends about looking over the earth anyways so starting with peoples problems was a start at the least.

Fenris had long since lost track of the appeal of the open road. For him, it was as familiar as a home was to a married couple. Beyond his basic needs of food, clothing, and shelter, he needed little else except a challenge to keep him sharp. Since the whole incident in the Southern Islands, however, he had made it a point to leave that region behind for a good while and pushed the events from his mind. His focus became on putting one foot in front of the other, not really caring the direction he took so long as he kept on going forward. The weather became crisper as he traveled farther from the equator, though he didn't go so far north that things turned snowy, and eventually he found himself wandering through an unfamiliar forest. Leaves crunched under his feet as the demon covered the long miles, oddly introspective.
What had happened to drive him north was... freaky as all hell, if he were brutally honest, but beyond that he was uncertain as to where he stood in things. His whole life he had been treated as a freak, an outcast worthy of little more than scorn or outright hatred simply because of the circumstances of his birth, which he himself didn't even know to begin with. And now, to know that there was a greater threat than anything he could have imagined, threatening everything he knew... Well, he didn't really know what to think. On the one hand, his survival instincts told him that it would be a good thing to fight and if not protect the people on Earth, at least protect the planet itself since he resided there. He honestly doubted that he would ever fight for any one person besides himself, since no-one wanted his help to begin with nor was willing to stand up for him.
Fenris was brought out of his reverie suddenly by the registering of a huge power level on his ki sense, and he cast his gaze about for the source. A rather... youthful male was talking to a bright-haired female nearby, and he arched an eyebrow momentarily at the contrast between the mental image he'd had and the actual appearance of such a powerful fighter. Mentally shrugging, the demon continued on his way until he passed the female, hearing her reference a "strange bug monster".
That stopped him cold, turning to glance back. It couldn't be.
Gritting his teeth against the need for social interaction (with the opposite sex, nonetheless), Fenris nonetheless approached her with what he hoped was... well, at least neutrality if he couldn't manage outright friendliness. His eyes locked onto hers, and he made certain to not assume a threatening stance.
"Apologies, but... describe this monster you saw." Please don't be what I think you are...
Aayla shuddered as she wrapped her arms around herself, wincing lightly as she accidentally rubbed one of the injuries that was bandaged there. She still couldn't believe she let herself get beaten up by a bug... no doubt her family would really be ashamed of that one... how was she ever expected to uphold their family name and rebuild the dojo if she let things like this happen all the time! Ah it wasn't fair!
Just as she was about to voice just how unfair her lack of strength was, a red haired person walked up to her, asking her if everything was alright. She squeaked lightly, not having seen him and jumping back in surprise at his appearance, her right foot slipping behind her left to steady herself as if she was getting ready to fight.
"Ahh! no i'm not going to fight you again! You gross bu- oh i'm sorry..." Aayla's arms stopped flailing at this point as she realized the red haired person that approached her was just that... a person and not a bug. She sighed in relief as she stood up straight once more.
"I"m sorry... yes... everything is fine you just startled me... there's this creepy bug thing in these woods and I thought you were it... sorry I guess that was kind of rude hunh... you don't look like a bug or anything! I"m sorry... let me start over... My name is Aayla, and everything is fine, thank you for asking..." She tried to clarify, fumbling over her words as she tried to correct her insulting mistake! She needed to be more aware of her surroundings so that she stopped getting into these awkward situations! That was when she saw a second person approach them... this guy was also not the bug thing from earlier... but where the heck where they when she was fighting!?
"I... never said monster... I said bug, but I guess you could call it a monster... it was really huge and reaaaaaly ugly... it had like these... antler things on it's head with these reaaaaaaaaaaally big teeth and buggy eyes... It talked with this high pitched voice too! and it had this long tail with a needle at the end... it could actually fire ki energy, if you know what that is... see ki is found in every living being, and certain people can learn to manifest it in many different ways." She began to ramble again, going on to explain how people could use ki as she had no idea if any of these two boys knew about it.

The demon boy quickly tensed up, getting in a ready position just as the woman would, almost as if a super reaction time because of having to fight so much. But then he slowly dropped his arms as he realized it was all a misunderstanding. "Its quite alright... I am sort of sad that I was mistaken for a bu- oh... yeah I would hope I don't look like a bu-... well, hello Aayla, my name is Bernael, and that is good if everything is fine... it just sounded like you were sort of in despair over something, didn't want to leave you hanging or something, but I suppose that doesn't matter too much now, anyways... you seem a little off anyways, you sure yo-" he would keep saying, trying to keep up with the woman's changing words, but then he saw a man come up to them, he cut himself off as soon as the person walked up to them.
The person asked the Aayla to describe the bug creature, and the lady ended up doing so. Her description didn't sound like anything he had ever seen, so he couldn't really help in talking about it in that regard. So he just nodded slowly as she described ki to the two of them. "Yeah, ki really is an interesting source of power, it is especially fun to use to intimidate opponents if they are really worried". He slowly nodded to himself, as his demons heart activated, flooding himself all around in a purple demonic ki aura. Bernael's power would double just from him doing that, to anybody that could sense energy. Then, he would start forming an orb of ki in his hand and sort of juggle it between his hands while still in the form, making it a ki aura and a ki ball that he was playing around with. "I myself am sort of new to the world of ki, but mastering it is indeed a lot of fun, and it's good if you happen to... get in a fight" he said, slowly letting the ball of ki die down and disappear as his aura would start to diminish away, his demons heart ending.
Bernael gave a little smirk to the two of them. "So a demon bug that can shoot ki energy... and it is hostile? Sounds like a possible problem... are you sure that you are entirely alright ma'am?" he would ask, sort of hoping that even though the creature could shoot ki energy, that it wouldn't be too big of a problem, it didn't seem to entirely hurt this girl, even though she had injuries they didn't seem fatal cause she was standing here, so hopefully the bug was just a small time threat, but of course there was no way to find out without further investigation.
Upon hearing the girl's description of the creature that had, apparently, been her reason for admittance to the hospital, Fenris's pupils became pinpricks, nearly disappearing amidst the red disks of his irises. He was certain now, that the horror that had appeared in the nameless Southern Island village he'd "visited" recently, was the same creature she had described. His breathing became deep and rapid for several moments, taking a step back and utterly ignoring her little lecture on ki, but when the strange boy's power exploded, he came back to his senses as he reeled from the pressure. It was entirely over the top and unlike any power he had sensed before.
And he wanted it for himself. He knew that particular type of energy, being a demon himself, and while they weren't entirely the same, they were close enough for him to assume the male to be a half-blood at least. His interest piqued, Fenris focused until wounds were mentioned, truly seeing the bandages the girl sported and starting. He may have been dour and wary of others at the best of times, but he still liked to think that he was capable of caring for others. That the girl had been hurt by the very same monstrosity that had caused him no end of grief in the very recent past only exacerbated the issue. Curious, and sympathetic, he stepped in again and peered at her wounds. Heavy bruises and ki burns, reminiscent of his initial encounter, though that could be explained by any particularly powerful foe; the half-breed, for example. There was a familiar pattern, though, something about the wounds themselves, that seemed intimately familiar to Fenris, and his gut told him beyond any doubt that he was right.
"I know the thing you're talking about. It first appeared in the Southern Islands a short while ago," the demon said softly, his eyes hooding at the memory as he suppressed a shudder. Bugs. It just had to be a bug from Hell. He didn't mention that it had apparently grown immensely in power in a very short period of time, which was worrisome. "It calls itself Blood and it has one nasty temper. I don't want to pry, but where did you... encounter it?" That was good, right? It seemed to be how normal people talked when they were trying to be persuasive, at least.
The socially-stunted demon hoped he would get through to her without any of his nervousness showing. Gods knew he wasn't the best at this "interaction" thing.
"Woaaaaaah!" Aayla finally stopped talking about Ki energy when the red haired man stated he knew about it and went on to display said energy in a brilliant display of power. She couldn't sense the mass amount of power radiating from Bernael's body but still looked on the half demon with fascination and awe! She hadn't met anyone besides her own family that could use ki! and to be so good at channeling it was simply amazing to her! It was so bright and almost felt cold to the young woman, but she didn't care. In fact she just remained fascinated.
"That's so cool! You're so good with it! my turn my turn!" She expressed in excitement as she flared up her own ki around her in a brilliant display of blue. While her strength was no where near Bernael's she was determined to make herself look just as impressive! She began changing her Rainbow Hurricane attack which caused the wind to pick up around her as her ki began to spin faster and faster. Eventually, as the light began to reflect off of the ki, it would look like Aayla was surrounded by a spinning rainbow as the energy took on many different colors.
"I haven't had the change to use any of my skills in a real fight until this bug thing... I saw it just over there..." She stopped speaking as just as her energy died down around her, the colors fading into the wind. She wasn't even able to point in the direction she had fought blood before she brought her hand up to her mouth and began to cough violently. She crouched down so that she would be closer to the ground in the event she ended up passing out once more. She hadn't fully recovered from her fight with the bug creature, and her frail body was beginning to grow sick yet again.

The demon boy would chuckle lightly at how the girl was reacting. Apparently even though his ki was sinister and demonic, she wasn't very afraid of it and she looked like she was enjoying it instead. That brought a gentle smile to the young boys face, he was glad that there was more people who would be accepting of his ki, even if she didn't know it was demonic in the first place. But his eyes slowly drifted to the man that was with them now, giving him full attention.
"A bug that calls itself Blood... shoots ki attacks and has a nasty temper. Well, I can't say I know for myself anything about the thing, but I hope anything with it gets taken care of soon, it would be bad if a lot of people got hurt or killed by it..." Bernael would say, he pondered on the thought of it before, could that thing be that powerful? The lady in front of him was actually quite powerful, compared to just anybody around that is. If the nasty bug was big and could fight, and give this lady these kind of injuries, it probably was nothing, but Bernael didn't know if he should take his chances, as they could be fatal and he wanted to protect people, he wouldn't be able to do that if he was just letting things roam and hurt people. He slowly shook his head, it wasn't his problem for the time being, he would look into it soon perhaps.
Bernael slowly pulled his gaze back to the woman, the ki she was showing off was quite beautiful, the rainbow clashing quite nicely with her own colors. He sort of smiled to himself "That certainly is some ki skill you are showing off there, good job" he would say, nodding as she continued the display before it ended. But as it would break, worry would fill the place of his amusement as he would go to the side of the girl, kneeling next to her and placing his hands on her to try and stabilize her "Hey, hey whats wrong... you're really not okay... are you..." he would say, worry in his voice before he would slowly just look over at the other guy to see if he would do anything in this situation.
Fenris didn't know what precisely he had walked into, but apparently it appeared to be the middle of another nerd-out session regarding ki between the two strangers. Not really being an expert himself, despite being capable of using it extensively, he decided to stay quiet and only nodded in an acknowledgement of her skill. When she dropped, however, his brow rutting in unexpected concern. It wasn't like him to show care for others, yet a wounded and bandaged woman (outside of a hospital, no less) falling to her knees and heaving violently as whatever had happened to her took its toll on her body once more.
Sighing, he nonetheless knelt down on her other side and eyed those injuries that were visible. Not being skilled in any sort of healing techniques, nor having any medicine in his duffel, the demon wasn't sure what good he'd be beyond manual labor should she faint. Good thing there was a hospital placed so conveniently nearby...
"Where does it hurt?" he queried. If they could get a coherent response, they might be able to be some good for her.
"No... I'm okay..." The girl would wheeze through the two men's worries. Her sickness picked a hell of a time to creep up on her... it was embarrassing enough to walk into the hospital and have nearly everyone know her, but now she was making these two worry about her, and no doubt they would want to bring her right back there.
As she coughed, she would keep one hand covering her mouth while the other quickly flew to her pant pocket, fishing deep inside it and pulling out a small spherical container. She popped the lid open as best she could one handed then brought it to her mouth, downing two of the pills and struggling to keep them down through her coughing.
"I'm sorry... whenever I... use energy it.... irritates my body and... makes me sick... I just didn't... didn't think I was so low on... energy." She said as she forced up a smile, sitting back down on the grass to get off of her knees. She would look between both Bernael and Fenris with a smile.
"Thank you... but I'm really okay... my lungs and head hurt a bit... but that's probably just from... the fight." She assured them. Slowly but surely, the girls cough would slowly start to die down, the only evidence of what had happened was the spots of blood on her hand which she was now keeping hidden by placing it down on the grass.
"Besides... we were talking about that... bug thing right? You sound like... you've seen it before mr... uhm..." Unsure of Fenris' name, Aayla had to stop talking, trying to think of an endearing nickname that wouldn't be insulting. However, anything that came to mind just sounded stupid.

The demon boy would nod to Fenris as he asked his question. It was the right question to ask in this situation, and they certainly needed to find out, and fast, if they were to help this girl who was on her knee's coughing. Though in the end it seemed like the efforts of those two were sort of in vain, as it seemed that she wasn't really all that bad, it was just some kind of condition. "Well then, that certainly does sound like some bad situation to be with in your body." the boy would say, standing back up and stretching. "Getting sick and stuff is certainly dangerous in battle if you need to use energy, don't overdue it alright? I would feel bad if you badly hurt yourself because you were trying to show off something to us and it ended up doing this again" he would follow up with.
He was genuinely concerned about if she was truly okay, but it seemed like if there was any more than what she was talking about, it wasn't going to come out of her for the time being, so the boy would just lay off of it for the time being, though it did seem like whatever fight she got in with the bug ended poorly for her body.
The demon boy quickly panned his vision back over in the direction of Fenris. It seemed that both the girl and him had seen the bug that the lady was talking about, sadly Bernael was out of the loop on this one, but he didn't need to be in the loop to be curious about the information of the matter either way. "Hmmm, true what is your name...? And yeah, it seems like you know exactly what she is talking about, you gave it a name and everything, is it all okay?" the boy would wonder, staring the man down but in a non hostile way. He truly wanted to know the state of affairs with everything going on.
Not really having much in the way of inter- (or intra-, for that matter) personal experience, Fenris simply remained close by and didn't offer much in the way of aid beyond being a physical presence. He could empathize with having one's body being nothing but a source of pain, and advised, "Just take it easy."
An itch alerted him to a pair of eyes on him, and his gaze slashed to the girl's other side. Having the red-haired boy staring him down caused the muscle below Fenris's left eye to twitch out of irritation. Why the hell was he staring? In the ring, that was grounds for a beheading, usually in spectacularly bloody fashion. Given their power disparity, however, that was out of the question. He was rather certain his intent wasn't hostile, either. Nonetheless, the demon did not break eye contact, stubbornly refusing to even blink as the boy questioned him.
Fenris really didn't want to give his name away, even if it meant little in the overall scheme of things. At this point, he was largely just being stubborn and unsocial. Neither of those were good justification, though. "I didn't want to" did not qualify, especially if he wanted to get any more information regarding Blood's whereabouts. After a few moments, he capitulated, sighing and rolling his eyes.
"Fenris..." he said in a voice little more than a raised mumble. He raised himself back upright and set his duffel against the trunk of a nearby tree before sliding down into a sit. His head lowered a bit as he thought for a moment, then looked back up at the two.
"Blood first showed up in the Southern Islands..." He then went on to explain the ordeal in detail, from the missing villagers, the bloody rituals, and even the bug-monster's ability to completely hide its ki signature. He left out the details of their clash, however, more than a little embarrassed that it had happened in the first place.
"So let's say that finding you is something of a lucky break," he concluded. His red eyes focused on one or the other, switching at random as he waited for the inevitable barrage of new questions.
"I know... Sorry about that. I've been... trying to find a dr or a healer to help... but apparently this is... something beyond modern medicine." She stated with a light smile on her face. Outwardly it seemed as if the fact that she was sick didn't bother her at all, but on the inside she often wept. She hated not being able to help her family with the dojo when they were alive, and if anyone was to honour her family's tradition and build a new dojo, she knew it would be her brother and not her...
Regardless, that was not here nor there, they had other things to talk about than her health... And that was when Fenris finally gave up his name and Aayla couldn't help but think it was a very intriguing and unusual name.
"I like that name. It's unique." She said before falling silent long enough to let Fenris explain what he knew about Blood. She grew more and more disappointed with herself as she listened to his story. Had she taken this bug creature down she would have done so much good for the world... she would have avenged everyone in that village and made her parents proud... Instead she was more focused on how disgusting the bug creature was that she let it beat her. She bit her lower lip as she thought back on the encounter, looking away from the two men as guilt became apparent on her face. She hadn't done good enough.
"I guess it was...I... I'm so sorry I didn't catch him... I didn't know he was such a horrible creature..." She said lowly...

"Hmm, Fenris huh? Well nice to meet you Fenris." the demonic human would say to the man who had given them his name just then. "Sorry for asking... just, by the way" the boy would follow up, it was pretty obvious that the man wasn't too overjoyed with giving up his name at the time, and Bernael understood that it was a bit personal, he honestly shouldn't have pushed for an answer.
From then, Bernael would just be quiet till Fenris was finished explaining. From the sound of things, this beast, bug, thing... was a terrible creature of ruthless nature, honestly he didn't want to think about it at all, the way it did its dirty work, and the people it killed. Even if it was a weak creature that wasn't all that strong in comparison to others, its slaughter was unforgivable. He wanted to kill it, or at least help in killing it. But he had no way to personally find it himself, and if it could hide its ki signature completely, well, then he had absolutely no chance in helping these two catch the bug beast. The boy would sigh very lowly to himself as he held his head.
"I wish I could help you guys out... I really do... but if it can hide its power level completely, well... I have no way in searching for it" he would say in a low tone. "But when I am done with the rest of my work... that I have to do for now... I might take up personal desire to go looking, if that is alright... though I still don't know if I will be able to do it myself, this is a big world we live in, and something that can hide itself completely is nothing less than a needle in a haystack." Bernael would follow up, a disappointed look on his face.
The demon boy however was barely realizing it, he didn't really pay too much attention to the girl since Fenris' name was brought up, and honestly, she looked like she was distraught and sad with herself, and she was explaining it like she was at fault for not catching it. "Hey... come on now it's alright... that bug did horrible things, and... who knows how strong it really is, it was probably a good idea to get out of there while you still could..." the boy would say, smiling at the girl lightly, attempting to at least try to cheer her up. Before looking back to Fenris.
"Say... how strong is that bug by the way... you said it could completely hide its ki signature... but was there ever a time where you could read it, to give me an accurate description of what I should have to deal with... I assume since you know it could hide its ki signature, you have the ability to sense it... can you sense mine? Would I be able to beat it if I was to say... quadruple my current power by taking off my weighted clothing, and then power up five times above that? Or would I still be at a loss for hope in fighting it?" the demon boy would explain to Fenris. He wanted to gauge his current power to the bug, to see if the bug was a truly hopeless battle for the boy, or if he had a chance to stop it if he ever found it.
Fenris made no move to comfort the girl when she seemed to claim culpability for Blood's escape. He did, however, snort audibly. He didn't need his ki sense to tell that she was weak even compared to him. The insectile abomination that he'd fought had been a match for himself even after being powered up, not to mention the other two that had been involved. His eyes averted themselves to the side once again at the memory of that fight, almost of their own volition. No-one was to blame for that particular incident except the humans who lacked two brain cells to rub together. Re-creating a bio-android from the past, who even did that? Much less one that had nearly succeeded in wiping out the planet.
The demon paused as the boy began talking again. His particular train of thought... unsettled Fenris. And by unsettled, it was more accurate to say that a colony of squirming snakes seemed to have replaced his insides. This boy couldn't possibly be that powerful. Could he? Fenris swallowed slowly as his mouth suddenly seemed devoid of moisture.
"That much power... would stand a chance, yes. Or at least when I last saw it. I do not know what else it is capable of."
He had never felt scared shitless in his life before, but it seemed that this unassuming demon had done the trick.
