[Thread PL: 81,520 base. 20,380 with Heavy Weights on]
Atsuko had just crossed the threshold to another dimension, on the Lookout there was a mysterious door. During her studies on the Lookout, she learned that there was a room where time operated on a different scale. It was called the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, as Kami, she had the right to make use of it, and to grant others the use of it as well. There were some limitations, however. You can only go in for a day. However, time works differently inside the Time Chamber itself. Instead of merely spending a day inside, one can spend an entire year in here.
An entire year's worth of training, all in a single day. It sounded too good to be true, but the Albino Saiyan wasn't going to pass up the opportunity to try it out for herself. Nasu made a dangerous claim before he left... That he would return to take revenge upon them all. Atsuko wanted to grow stronger so that she could better perform her duties as Kami. However, she knows that it's wise to not go into any battle alone. Due to this, she picked one person to go into the Time Chamber with her. That person is Bernael.
He was an easy choice, already staying on the Lookout for the most part, and they had worked together before. They would be perfect partners for this type of venture. Another key aspect in picking him is that he is also a very skilled warrior. Honestly... The Knight was proud to see how far he had come. She still remembers the first day that they met, he didn't even know how to control Ki back then. Now he was someone that held a fierce might that surpassed even her own. He was a capable friend that Atsuko could always turn to for aid.
It turned out to be a good thing that she brought someone with her. What was inside the Time Chamber was... A massive white void, and a small living space for them to make use of when they weren't training. The Saiyan still had her Heavy Weights on, but... The air and the gravity, they were different here. She felt as if her steps were noticeably heavier. Her training here would have massive results, without a doubt. The Saiyan makes her way over to the living quarters to examine everything first. Beds, bathroom. And a full stock of food and drinks.
Everything was in order, so she made her way back and then stood at the edge of the stone platform. Atsuko carefully begins to step out into the white void, a little scared of what might happen. But her foot presses down on what feels like solid ground. Soon enough she's standing on top of the pure white floor, and then the Albino Saiyan turns to her friend. "Well. Here we are... I guess we just get right to the training, then?", she spoke. Her voice echoing throughout the massive empty space around them.
"Hard to believe... An entire year will be spent in here. I never thought something like this could be possible.", the Saiyan commented as she glanced around. There was nothing for miles, it just stretched on endlessly. And frankly she didn't want to test her luck in going out very far. "One thing we can both agree on... We stay close to this structure. We don't want to get lost here, who knows how we'd ever get back.", she added. Well, it was time to stop beating around the bush... Her gaze once more settles onto Bernael, and she waits for what he has to say.

Bernael would just nod to himself, stepping into the time chamber and feeling a massive pressure on the entirety of his body. He didn't know what he was feeling, but the place they were in was certainly, different to say the very least. It could have been because he was still wearing his heavy weights, but even if he would have taken them off in this place, he still feels like the massive pressure would continue crushing his body even then. Bernael was sort of surprised that he was the one selected to train with his friend in this place, for an entire year no less. When you have to be with someone else for an entire year alone, you have to pick through all of your options carefully and select someone that its alright to be with. The boy was just sort of surprised that it was him, though he supposed that would mean that he was a cherished friend and was trusted by Atsuko, or at the very least of it his power was good to be with and he was trustworthy as an ally. Either way he was happy that he was going to be able to get this training session in, though the lack of social activity aside from one person could drive him to becoming a little dependent on his friend in terms of interactions.
That wouldn't really matter though, Atsuko and him had a lot of times where they would just have nice chats together, so it wasn't like it was going to be hard to keep up social needs, even with only one other person around. He would sigh to himself as he would stay on the first steps into the dimensional hyperbolic time chamber. Bernael wasn't quite sure how to take all of this in, it looked pretty dull and wasn't very beautiful, but it had a calm, very light tone to it as well with the gentle white. So it was either a bad place or a good place to be in terms of visuals, and his eyes and brain couldn't really make up their mind. Though the void out there was sort of scaring him, how far would it go? Would it be something that they get stuck in forever, if they flew too far out and lost their way back. The boy didn't precisely know but it was then that he snapped out of it and looked to his friend.
"Yeah... we don't want to waste any time in here, training all we can and then getting any bodily needs, and then training more is probably our best course of action to get the best out of this..." Bernael would respond, stepping out onto the pure white floor with Atsuko to look around. "Hmm, an entire year will be very long, its just good that it wont take up an entire year outside too.. think if we spent an entire year in here only to come out and realize the same time passed out there and we missed so so much... good thing that this is already proven to be real. And definitely, there is no need to go out there anyways, this structure has all we need and the space right outside of the structure is a perfect spot to train, going out into that endlessness will only prove bad for ourselves" he would continue on, staring out over the abyss of nothingness. The demon boy would nod to himself, slowly rolling his shoulders and looking back to the saiyan woman.
He had a smile on his face, a very light and determined one. "Well then, I suppose there's enough talking for now huh?" he would say, staring over at her "How would you like to proceed with this, Atsuko?" was how he would follow up, crossing his arms and continuing to look determined with how this should all proceed.
WC: 652 [Thread PL: 53,487 ---> Heavy Weights: 13,371]
She listened intently to what Bernael had to say. What he said was true... An entire year dedicated entirely to getting stronger through constant training. Atsuko probably would have found it intimidating if not for the fact that her entire childhood was exactly like that. Hell, her entire life too. All that changed was the scenery. One thing was certain about all of this, she would come out of the Time Chamber with a year's worth of experience under her belt. And Bernael would show just as much progress. The Knight silently wondered what it would be like to see all of their friends again...
How would they react? It was sort of exciting! But now was the time to set those thoughts aside, Atsuko began to enter her stance, though she didn't draw her sword. "Far as I can tell, we have two options for now...", she began. Her eyes once more scanning the endless horizon around her. "We can take some time to move around, maybe throw a technique or two and just get used to moving around here...", she stated. Her eyes then settling back onto Bernael again. "Or, we can jump right into sparring! There will be plenty of time for breaks and chats, too."
While she waited for Bernael's answer, she decided to take a bit of time to get ready. Atsuko started by stretching a bit more than she usually did. Getting used to the weight that was being placed on her body. Her movements would be slowed, but that was fine. Slowly the Saiyan could feel herself getting used to the added strain. The Knight always kept that cape on except for the most dire of situations, so it really didn't feel like anything new. Just... More added to make the training even better.
Once she finished stretching and then relaxed into her proper stance once more, the Saiyan tried out a few of her skills. First up was Sentinel's Charge! Her body was enveloped in a golden, glowing energy and then she began to speed around the white void. The Knight was making certain not to wander too far from the structure, of course. The last thing Atsuko wanted to do was end up getting herself lost in here. It was actually pretty difficult to move and use her techniques here... Hopefully, she would get used to that within the year's time.
Finally the Saiyan came to a stop, and then she proceeded to pull out her sword. The Knight eased into the ever familiar stance and then began to channel her energy into it. Next was to try her most favored technique up to this point, Holy Sword Wave. With a massive slash aimed at the middle of the vast nothingness, she unleashed a wave of energy that wasn't quite as large as it normally was. The gravity here was definitely taking it's toll on her. The Albino Saiyan proceeded back over to the steps and took a few minutes to catch her breath.
She let out a small chuckle. "Haha... Okay, I definitely recommend getting used to this place first. I wasn't expecting it to be so draining.", Atsuko stated as she smiled at Bernael. "Well, once you've had a go, come here and sit with me. We can still use the time to talk while we rest.", the Albino Saiyan added. It would be easy to lose track of the time here, if not for the hourglass and clock. Frankly, she couldn't imagine being in here all by herself. It would be maddening, as far as she was concerned.
Luck was on her side then, for Bernael was here with her. They always seemed to have a lot to talk about... And plenty had happened, too.

The demon boy slowly nodded to the saiyan. "Yeah, those would indeed be the two options..." he would say, but by that time she was already getting into her own little set of training her body against the room. He certainly didn't want to stop her just yet, but he still had to think on which option that he wanted to pick of the two. They could possibly take time to get used to the pressure exerted from the room, which would certainly benefit later training as they would be prepared for the pressure and eventually get used to it in fact. However, the only side of the spectrum was that it could entirely throw out some early spar training that could be gained at the start, and he didn't know if he wanted to lose that just yet. The other option was to spar right away, which could get some great early training but they could put too much strain on their bodies and get hurt, causing some time of losing training to recuperate. That could prove bad if they didn't get used to the place and they hurt each other as well. The boy was very unsure on which option to take but it seemed that it was already decided for him as he watched Atsuko test out some of her techniques.
"Alright, I suppose it is option one then~" he would say, a light smile over at Atsuko as he looked back at her. He nodded gently when she said to come sit with her after he had his own go. With that said, he slowly would hold his hand back, focusing all of his power into his right hand. As he would focus, purple ki would star flowing out of him and into his hand, slowly stacking along itself to form a large sword, his demons unholy ascalon was a skill he had recently learned, and it still needed some training till he could use it without burning himself out instantly. However, he wanted to at least try it in the airspace. Instantly, the sword would start decreasing in side and he would take the time to swing it without hesitation at the air, causing a miniature shock wave of pressure to fly out from in front of the swing. The sword would disperse and Bernael would sort of slump over. "Ugh, yeah this place is a bit much to just start out doing stuff with." he would say, being entirely spent from using his ultimate technique for the time being. Bernael would slowly turn and walk back over to Atsuko before slumping down next to her, sitting down. "I am glad you asked me in here, I think this will pay off a lot, just the essence of standing around in here and throwing out techniques is tiring, let alone all out training." he would say, smiling over to her before looking down.
"You have really nice techniques by the way, the golden glow that they always give off is so pretty go look at~" he would say, with a sort of happy tone in his voice, he just wanted to talk about something while they relaxed, so he thought that he himself could kick off the conversation with something random. "I am not too proud of my techniques, I've only really been able to use that purple energy that is built up in me for them, its always so dark and brooding, I don't really know if its even that nice to look at" he would say with a sigh, it wasn't a very sad one though. "Hmmm, why did you pick me.. of all people, to be in here with you anyways, Atsuko?" he would ask, quizzically looking over at her with a sort of blank but curious face, trying to press on more conversation with the Saiyan.
She watched as her friend began to get used to the environment as well. She noted the purple coloration of his Ki, she had seen it a few times before. Particularly when he was under threat of losing himself to the demonic energies, but now... He seemed so much more in control of it. Atsuko smiled as she watched him begin to form a large sword. That was an interesting technique! Rather similar to her own, in some aspects. It made sense, Bernael had a blade of his own. They weren't just warriors, but swordsmen! She was a little concerned about how he got his sword...
But just like before, he seemed so in control that she couldn't bring herself to mention such concerns. It would be an insult to him, he was doing well. The Albino Saiyan let out a small laugh as Bernael began to slump over after using his technique and pointing out that it really does take a lot out of you here... "I know, right? Still... All of this effort is going to be worth it... We definitely need it, protecting an entire world... It sounds pretty unreal, doesn't it?", the Saiyan stated to the half demon.
He sat down next to her, and she smiled once more at him. "Well, I'm glad that you accepted coming in here! To be honest, I didn't really think that anyone would want to... I mean, I don't mind taking on such an extreme challenge, but not many people would be willing to spend an entire year in here, just... With one person. Nothing to really do but talk, train, eat and sleep.", the Knight responded. Even talking about it now, it just seemed like no one would agree to that sort of thing. But Bernael didn't even have to think on it.
Here he was, taking on such an effort right alongside her. Finally he mentioned her techniques being nice to look at. "Ah, you really like them? Thanks. I've been working hard on developing them. I don't have the largest selection of skills, but what I have is practical. I could probably learn even more if I wanted, but... I don't know, I haven't really found much of a need, if that makes sense? I've been learning other types of abilities. Like sensing energy, how to suppress my own energy. Things like that... And as a Kami..."
She paused briefly. The Albino Saiyan was still a little amazed that she could refer to herself like that... She hoped that it didn't come off as egotistical or something along those lines. "Well, I can't really be everywhere at once. I've been reading a few of these books that talk about how previous Guardians were able to see the entirety of Earth from the Lookout! And some of them could even speak to people with their mind alone! I... Don't know how I'm going to pull that off yet. But I'm going to try. They seem vital to being a Guardian of Earth."
She finished her response. And then the half demon began to speak about his own techniques, and how he didn't really care for their appearance... The Knight simply shook her head in response. "Do you know what I see when you use them? I see someone that has conquered their inner self. It's not exactly the same, but... I struggled with it as well, being born a Saiyan. You have such great control! Anyone can set free a wild beast, but it takes true skill to tame it.", she then gently placed her hand on his shoulder.
"You have that skill. No matter how dark things get, you won't lose your way. Besides... If you ever need a little light, I'll help out.", she finished by sticking her tongue out at him. The Albino Saiyan couldn't resist making a few puns to help brighten up the otherwise dark mood. Though once she finished, Bernael then asked why she chose him to bring into the Time Chamber. The Albino Saiyan pondered it over for a moment, though it wasn't like she really needed to take very long to give her answer to the curious half demon.
"Because, you're someone I can rely on. You've been there through a lot. You've pulled me back from doing things that I might regret. And... Ultimately, you don't see me any differently despite the fact that I'm something as grand as 'Kami' now. It's kinda nice... I thought that once I took up such a position, it would mean everything would change.", she then lowered her head slightly, looking to the ground as she smiled. "But... I still have everyone that I met. You didn't even hesitate to give me an answer when I asked you about joining me in here."
The Albino Saiyan then looked back up into the endless white void once more. "Not just anyone could agree to this type of thing... I'm really grateful for everything that you've done, Bernael. I'm glad that we met in that bamboo forest.", she then finished, now turning her gaze back to the half demon, the smile still present on her face. Honestly, she was beginning to view him as more than a friend at this point. The Knight couldn't quite put her finger on it, but maybe it was love. When she mused on that, her face began to blush a little.
She lets out a small and somewhat nervous laugh as she then scratches the back of her own head. "It sounds silly, doesn't it? But... I really mean all of it. So really... Thanks.", she finally finished. The Albino Saiyan then chose to fall silent to allow her friend some time to speak for a change, and perhaps to make less of a fool out of herself. Though it wasn't unpleasant to open up about her feelings like that. She used to view him like a little brother, but now... That was beginning to change. Atsuko wasn't sure how to deal with the emotions just yet.

"Hmmm, thank you for thinking that... it means very much to me Atsuko, I don't know what I would do without someone like you there to keep me company" he slowly said to her, referencing how she talked about his attack. It made him happy that somebody looked at it in a positive light instead of something bad like he did from time to time. He just slowly looked to the floor. "I truly am grateful but... this skills I used was obtained in a negative light. Its the holy sword ascalon... something of legend per say... but its just a replica of course, but somehow it burned me whenever I tried to use it in battle when I kept it that way... even though it is still a replica I had to make it corrupted and unholy, it just makes me sort of sad that its my strongest skill." he said, with a bit of doubt in his eyes, curious how even ki replica's could do so much to him even though it was his own skill, he sighed and shook his head.
He continued listening and nodding to himself. A bit of tears would start coming down his face, he would put his hands to his head and shake his head. Out of all the sadness and hate in the world, his friend was so close and so kind to him, saying stuff that completely negated any negative feelings in his head, instead of being the person that was hated and couldn't be trusted with anything, he was something that she could rely on? She picked him to be with for an entire year, and he was someone that she relied on? That was, on the outside of things completely an understandable thing to be with someone because you can rely on them, but for an entire year alone with them, something like that made him completely break down from a bit of joy. He didn't make any noise and his emotions got under check as she finished talking.
"I'm... really grateful for everything that you've done too Atsuko... thank you for absolutely everything truly, I too am glad we met in that forest... you're probably the closest person to me ever, aside from family... its just something wonderful to me" he would say, shaking his head with a happy smile on his face. "And no, its absolutely not silly, and thank you too" he would add on, before looking over at her. He saw the blush that was on her face and then just sort of looked down himself. He didn't know why she was blushing, maybe she was flustered from letting out such compliments to somebody, but he couldn't complain at all. Though he just shook his head as he gave a smirk to the ground.
"Hey uh, on a sort of subject change... do you think that its possible to push a body past its physical limitations, so much so that it takes on an entirely new form, making something different when looked at from an outside force?" he asked, looking over at her again but remembering how she looked before, he blushed a bit himself and looked away again, not sure how to look at her for the time being with all of those thoughts flowing through his head. "I know it sounds a little odd but... I had a dream about my father... and even though I never even knew about it before then, something called a... makoho star... makyo star... makoto star... I don't know, something odd like that, appeared in my dream and my father was able to use it to his advantage." he would press on, trying to explain what he meant. "I don't know if the star helped the transformation or if the transformation is possible and the star had nothing to do with it, but it was all in a dream so I am not sure. But his body grew so much larger and more muscular, and he even looked a lot more demonic and was so much fiercer, far surpassing the limitations of his body that he gave before then in the fight. Do you think something like that is possible for people who want to get stronger? Maybe in here we can even pass our bodies current limitations like that..." he would say, looking more at the ground wondering if what he was saying was just crazy talk or if he was actually going somewhere with his thoughts.
The boy wasn't quite sure himself, but if there was a way for him to unlock a transformation like that, he wanted to get it. He had slowly fell out of the desire to look to his father, he wanted to get stronger and hopefully draw his father to him, while protecting the planet he was living on and meeting new people and being with the ones he had met. Something like chasing an unknown trail was just unpleasing to him. But if he could get that transformation, maybe the spike in power would appeal to his father coming out of hiding, as he had to be out there somewhere, just not wanting to come out to see his own son after all this time of life.
Bernael slowly looked back over to Atsuko, wanting to get off topic of what he was thinking of and moving past it. "Well, for a change of pace, how are you feeling Atsuko? Are you doing alright, whats on your mind perhaps...?" he would say, thinking about the face she had earlier made him curious. What exactly was on her mind? Perhaps whatever it was that made her blush could be a topic of conversation, or at the very least it could carry their rest time faster as just doing nothing would be slow, plus they had a lot more time to train throughout the year, they needed this little bit of rest for the time being after burning out from the pressure of the room.
He first started by thanking her for what she said about bringing him here. It prompted Atsuko's smile to widen a little more in response, as well as the blush to grow a slightly more noticeable shade... Though, he began to look down at the floor as he began his response. His skills were obtained in a negative light, that may very well be true... But he wasn't using them that way, when Bernael began to break down into tears, Atsuko responded by gently moving an arm around him in order to hug him close. "Hey, hey... Remember what I said, you're not a bad person."
The Albino Saiyan began her response. "Whatever your powers are, whatever your bloodline is from... You're not using it for evil. Your heritage doesn't dictate what you are, just look at me. I'm a Saiyan, apparently a very war-like race that loves to conquer and destroy. And... Here I am, settling onto a humble existence dedicated to protecting others. And you're taking up that decision as well, no one asked you to.", she added. Her smile and blush had faded at this point, but... She didn't look unhappy either. "I didn't even have to ask you, you came to that decision all by yourself."
The Albino Saiyan continued. "Someone who can come to that conclusion without any outside interference? They can't be a bad person. So continue doing what you're doing, you're a good person as far as I'm concerned. And I can't think of a reason for anyone to say otherwise!", with that, she finished. Even if he wasn't sad like she had first thought, the Knight didn't want to see him feeling bad just because 'he's a demon' and using 'unholy powers'. It didn't work like that. Bernael wasn't evil, and she could never think of him that way...
Finally, he was back to his normal self, the Albino Saiyan proceeded to release him from the hug and resume proper posture as she was sitting. Bernael went on to say that it wasn't silly that she was saying all of that. Which put her at ease, she'd never really said anything like that before... "I'm glad. It was something that seemed so frightening, for some reason! Like if I went and said all that and you refused it, I wouldn't be sure how to react. I guess I just overthink things, don't I?"
Atsuko asked in a rhetorical manner, but then their conversation turned to whether or not it was possible to push one's body passed it's normal limits. The Albino Saiyan pondered on it for a moment. She wasn't entirely sure herself, but she remembered hearing a few stories about how people could tap into a great hidden power within themselves, becoming extraordinary beings capable of otherwise unimaginable power. With that in mind, she began to speak once more. "Well, I don't know of any such abilities myself... But I do know there's a number of stories that fit what you describe."
The Knight stated. "And if anything could unlock such a potential, it would be an extreme method of training such as this!", she then added. Once more Atsuko fell silent as Bernael then went on to describe the dream that he had, it concerned his father. So that was what spurred on this entire conversation? It certainly lined up with the stories she had heard and read. And that odd star... It must have had something to do with Demons. Dreams were hardly ever a baseless thing. "Well, if you had a dream like that, there must be truth to it."
The Albino Saiyan affirmed without hesitation. "I don't know how much I can help you with unlocking any such abilities like that, other than what we're already doing, of course! But if you have some ideas, I'll do what I can to help. I also wonder... If Saiyans have something like that. I've been feeling like there's some sort of power hiding away inside of me. It's hard to describe, almost like waking up from a really long sleep? I feel like it's close to waking up, but it needs something more than just effort... I just don't know what."
The Saiyan stated. And thought it over silently to herself... When she said it aloud, it made even less sense than it already did in her head. But she had these types of feelings before, and it led her to becoming Kami, so perhaps she should heed it... "Whatever it is that I'm feeling... It's led me to all of this. I'm not even sure I can say that it 'sounds unreal' anymore. I mean, we're in another dimension now, where time works differently. There may just be some logic to all of this, though I couldn't even begin to make sense of it."
Atsuko finally finished her thoughts on the matter, she looked down at the ground once more as she continued trying to find some sort of answer, but no matter how long she worked at it, nothing came of it. She lets out a small sigh, and before she could frustrate herself too much more on it, Bernael chimed in with a bit of an awkward question. The blush was apparent on her face once more. "W-...Well, I'm not sure, really. I feel like I see you as more than a friend, if that makes sense."
The Saiyan began her confession. "But, it's not on the level of family, either. I don't really know when I started feeling about you like that, but... That's how it is now.", the Knight continued, her blush growing more apparent seemingly with each word. "I guess... If I had to say it was something, I admire you? You don't have to return such feelings, too! I just wanted to answer you truthfully.", she spat out at a rather surprising pace towards the end. It seems that she really didn't have much experience in dealing with romantic feelings. It might have come off as a little surprising.
But it also made sense, given just how sheltered her life was... And still is, technically. She never had any time to really interact with people. And Bernael? Well, she did often say that he was a really good guy. It made sense the more she mused on it.

A small blush would form upon the boys face, hearing Atsuko's words and facial expression brought a lot more thoughts to his head, but he didn't know how to deal with them for the time being, or if he was even all that ready to get those feelings brought up once more, something like that was hard to get through again, especially after the last time that he had to go through everything. Though he sort of thought that it could be okay if he was to fall for someone else, it wasn't the same circumstances. He was a lot stronger than he was back when he experienced those losses. In fact, his power under the weights almost surpassed his base power from when he experienced those losses, there was nearly nothing to fear at that point, he was stronger. Plus if he was to fall for anybody, the only person he really felt a close enough relation to, to even allow that sort of relationship to happen was the person with him right now, somebody even stronger and more capable of taking care of themselves, than he was. This brought a bigger blush to his face as a very light smile grew on his face. Maybe not just yet, but throughout the year, they were going to be together for an entire year. There was a possibility that his feelings would develop more and maybe he would be able to accept the feelings fully, and maybe even express them further. "Hey Atsuko..." he would say, looking over at her with a blush of his own on his face. "I admire you too, absolutely... And I know I don't have to return those feelings but, there is nobody better that I know for me to return such feelings too~ And I want to answer you truthfully too, you're a very close friend... or maybe something more than a very close friend... but I need to be entirely open to you, tell you everything that I am feeling" he would say, adding on to his first words to fish for her attention.
He sort of blushed a lot more and looked down before standing up. The demon boy didn't want to take too much time on the subject, if he was getting too emotional and into this, he could accidentally weigh her down, and he definitely didn't want to do anything like that. "Hey, I am really sorry if I weigh you down a bit in here by not being able to keep up, or perhaps being too talkative and emotional towards you, I don't want to make you blush too much with thoughts, it might stray away from training a bit. I suppose we can continue this sort of talk for when its time to rest or sleep, perhaps during a meal and such, that could be a good time to continue this kind of conversation." he would say to her, his blush fading almost entirely, but it was still a bit there from it being too big to just leave instantly. He would slowly replace his regular standing stance with a ready stance. "Perhaps its time to move around a bit, maybe get into some movement to get used to this place more, start a spar or two." he said, with a bit of determination on his face, his smile was still very present and he didn't let it fade, not even for a single second. His stance was very prepared for anything that would come from the saiyan, whether she would want to start a spar, or if she would want to do advanced movement to attempt to get used to the atmosphere a bit more, he would be ready for that as well.
In all honesty, he just wanted to move past the conversation. It was a very nice one and he learned a lot just in a short time, but there was a lot, lot more time to learn even more if they were to be in there together for an entire year. He wanted to save his questions and answers, if they ran out of stuff to say one day from asking too much, the time in there would be boring so it was all up to them to manage their interactions. He also wanted to turn away from his feelings for the time being, if he let them out too much he could really develop something right away, which could potentially get in the way of their training, if there was a time for them to develop any of those feelings further, it would be towards the end of their year and when it was time to leave. "Also, I know this response is just a little late, but.. I absolutely believe we can push ourselves further in here together, possibly get better training than we've ever gotten before... no in fact, it is not just a possibility, I believe that it WILL happen... if there is any chance for us to ascend into some sort of transformation, if there is some way for us to push past our physical limitations... it would be in here. I want to work towards that, with you, Atsuko..." he would say, a smirk on his face. "I want it to be with you in fact... I want to grow stronger by your side... that is what I would truly want." he would add on, a small blush growing on his face once more, getting emotional once more even though he said that he wanted to possibly go away from that, even in his mind. He didn't care for the time being, he was gonna face his current feelings, and he wanted to be truthful with her like he said he would be. That caused him to chuckle lightly while staring at her with a big smile grown upon his face.
"So what do you say Atsuko...? Lets get stronger together?" he would say, getting back into his stance, absolutely ready for anything that she would want to do in the time chamber to kick off their training once more, if she was ready for that part of the time chamber to start up again.
Somehow, it had turned into such a tense moment between two close friends. But the next words that Bernael gave just made all of that vanish completely. The half demon stated that he returned such an admiration, and couldn't think of anyone better to share it with. This caused the Albino Saiyan to blush incredibly noticeably as she looked to the ground. "T-...Thank you.", she managed to say. Was it even the appropriate response? The Knight wasn't sure, but it seemed like the sort of thing that she should thank him for. It felt really good to hear someone say that about her...
Especially someone that Atsuko had such feelings for in kind. He then pointed out that he wanted to be open about how he was feeling, then standing up. The Saiyan gave a calm nod, listening intently to whatever he had to say to her. Bernael began by apologizing if he ended up slowing her down, but that prompted an almost immediate shaking of the head from Atsuko. "No, no! You're not slowing me down. I... Honestly like it when we can talk like this. You're the only one that likes to listen to me just ramble on like I do."
The Albino Saiyan responded with a somewhat sheepish smile, but then continued listening to him. He pointed out that it was perhaps a good idea to continue the conversation later, and after thinking it over a bit, the Knight could only agree with him. It would be unfortunate to go through all of their topics of discussion just because they were getting into another one of their back and forths while sitting together. He then added that perhaps it could be over a meal. "Well, I'd like that! But first, you're right... We do need to have some training!"
The Knight said with a smile as she rose to her feet as well, and made her way out onto the white void as well. She closed her eyes for a moment, composing herself once more. And then she eased into stance, opening her eyes again in order to properly face the half demon. An entire year of this... Just with one person to keep her company, and she couldn't ask for anyone better to do it. Atsuko really owed a lot to Bernael, and she hadn't the slightest idea where to begin on thanking him for it all.
Whatever the case, it was nice to get up and move around again. There was noticeably less of a strain from the environment this time, they would be able to have a proper spar from now on. And afterwards... Well, they could probably have a nice dinner. Continue having pleasant conversation, it all sounded pretty ideal, really. All the Albino Saiyan could think about aside from her own duties, is just how nice it would be to continue having moments like this with the half demon. The Knight never really had thoughts like this before, but... It was something she wanted all the same.
Before any action could be taken by either one, however. Bernael then began to speak once more, pointing out that he had a bit of a late response in regards to tapping into hidden powers. He felt that it was a certainty that they would be able to achieve a higher form of power just by working together here. To that, the Knight nodded. "I agree, this is our chance to pull it off, and then we can show the results of our training to everyone. We won't let anyone harm Earth, or our friends."
She gave her response. And then the half demon pointed out that he would like to spend it with her. Which prompted her to blush once more. "Y-...You'd really like to?", she questioned, a little surprised. Growing stronger with him... It really did sound like a nice thought. The Knight examined his face, he didn't seem to be lying at all, in fact that smile... Well, she wanted to see him that happy, and the only way that would happen is if she accepted! That much she had affirmed to herself! Though even with that, she still wasn't ready for his next words.
Bernael asked if she wanted to grow stronger together. It... Honestly sounded like a proposal to the Knight. Once more her face was covered in a blush as she thought over the answer. "I... I would like that, Bernael.", she finally managed to say. At this point, her stance was entirely off balance, so she instead chose to exit it and try to stand up straight. Calm down... She enters a meditative posture briefly, there. Now she was able to compose herself again. The Albino Saiyan lets out a relieved sigh, opening her eyes once more as she looks at Bernael.
"Well, I'm ready now! But... Hmm, I can't help but notice something...", the Saiyan began. She had noticed it for a little while now, the difference in power between them was too large, it was an unfair fight under these terms! The training would be far too one sided and decidedly less effective as a result. She couldn't have that, she wanted to bring the most out of it. "Hold on, let me lower my power down to yours. We'll get the best benefits if we're on equal grounds!", she stated and then closed her eyes again.
Her Energy began a steady descent down to the amount that Bernael held under the Heavy Weights. Atsuko was thankful that she learned how to suppress her Ki like this. She couldn't think of a better time to use it than right now! It had other uses as well, but this was the most important, in the Saiyan's opinion. Finally she resumed posture of her stance and smiled at the half demon. "I know we're stronger now, but... Doesn't it remind you of the first time we met? We were nearly equal back then. Just like now."
The Knight commented. It seemed so long ago even though it really wasn't. It just felt like they had undergone an entire lifetime since that time in the Bamboo Forest. The only thing missing was Tau to be here to yell at them in her signature style! "Well, I guess we're missing Tau. Too bad, I think she'd like the chance to give us a good shouting in order to inspire us. But I think we can make due, yeah?", the Albino Saiyan added. It was nearly time to begin the spar. She took a deep breath, lowering herself just a little bit more in the stance...
Her legs were firmly rooted, just like last time. Her movements would be carefully taken, balance was key in battle. The Knight was capable of flying, but she couldn't rely on it too much. Right now, Bernael was equal to her. The only thing that would change how their battle goes is pure skill... Well, it wasn't that serious. They were just having a friendly spar, after all! The Hyperbolic Time Chamber would do the rest of the work, no need for serious injuries or the like. An entire year of training... Perfect.

The demon boy gave a proper nod "Yeah, for sure we can show anybody that would like to see, how much progress we made together in here, maybe that could motivate them to do the same as us in here some time, as they could benefit from it just like we are, you know?" he would say, chuckling to himself as he thought of how they would proceed with the battle. He truly wanted to grow stronger, possibly become someone that can protect the earth alongside the guardian, even if it wasn't his job, he could do that with a smile on his face, especially being alongside the Ka- no, alongside Atsuko, he would be able to do it without even needing a second thought at this time. He felt something inside of him churning, it wasn't a bad feeling but it was almost like clockwork, like something was setting itself up within him, he felt a lot better than he previously did. Perhaps it was just him wanting to be more selfless, wanting to do everything for others absolutely. Like Atsuko, Tau, Jarvis and every other inhabitant on earth. He wanted to work and use his power for them, he wanted to be a protector of the planet, and nothing would stop him mentally, from doing that. If anything could, it would have to go through a lot of work to even change him slightly, let alone making him not want to help anymore, that was near insane. He shook his head off of those thoughts, as those were important for the next outside day, those were important for a year from now, the time being would be filled with the fighting spirit these two had to get stronger.
However, he realized what his words were doing to Atsuko, her face was in a blush again and then he slowly realized how the stuff he said could have been taken. He was setting her off on accident again and he just shook his head. "Sorry about that..." he said out loud to her before shaking his head and smiling over to her. He mumbled stuff to himself, not loud enough for her to really hear unless she was super paying attention with the echo's of the room being mean for helping words carry off farther than they originally were meant. "Being with someone like her... definitely not a hassle, unlike some other things." he would say to himself during that mumble before just looking up. He honestly thought that she looked cute when she got all flustered from his words, definitely wasn't a bad thing either, he sort of liked it himself. It was then that she would start lowering her power level to his.
"Well I could have just powered up and lowered myself down to you, but that's fine to be honest, I suppose a power up would just drain me a lot faster and end up hurting me in the end, so this is fine." he would say, musing on it as he realized that even though the power level bar would be higher for their training, he wouldn't be able to keep it forever and it would catch up to him and either hurt him, or drop his power down and get him hurt in the end. He thought on it slowly and realized that, even though he could enter his forms at will, they weren't anything like an all out transformation, and his father showed him the terrifying power of a real transformation in his dreams, he just wanted to be able to counter such a transformation with his own power, some day. It was then that he would slowly shake his head, realizing that too much thought on the idea of such a transformation would make him lust for it instead of make him want to get stronger with his... honestly he didn't know what to call Atsuko anymore. He thought of her more as a romantic interest, than a friend at this point, but he didn't want to say something like that, in case she would get all unfocused again if he said something, he would just wait to say such a thing for when it mattered and they had some more good time together.
It was then that she brought up their first meeting, the one in the bamboo forest. "Yeah, we're on par once more and going to having a friendly spar too! But this time I wont be just throwing untrained moves as you, I have had experience too now, I can maybe actually do a bit more than attack at your body now~" he would say, musing on how back then he was untrained, just a bit strong. But this time it would be different, they both had experience now, instead of just a single one of them. That would raise the demon boys spirits far above what he needed to be able to face Atsuko again. "But this is indeed just like back then... and we don't really need Tau for this specific time, right? Like I said, we will be getting stronger together~ So we can certainly make due" the demon boy said, just wanting to get in one last word bit to her before he would be ready to start sparring with the saiyan knight. He didn't want to really set her off, he just wanted to remind her that this was about them, not anybody else for the time being, and that they even said that it would be together.
At that point, he would lower himself as well, getting into his actual serious fighting stance. He broke his smile for a second to put on a serious persona to his face. He understood that it was just a friendly spar and that nothing else would really need to happen, they didn't need to go all out and the time chamber itself would help along their progression on its own. The time span alone was especially pleasant to think about, it would help them get a lot of progression even though not much happened outside, who knew what would happen to the two of them by the time they got out. But he didn't mind anything that happened in there, just so long as they remained in good relations, possibly even bolstering their relationship, and got some progression in, he was completely okay with the situation. "Alright Atsuko... Let the battle, begin!" he would say, giving a full second delay for her to react to his words so that he wouldn't get an unfair start. If she had reacted to it before the full second was up, at the very least he was doing something himself during that second, settling his footwork for a better kick off to rush towards her. He didn't know how the spar would end up, but he wanted to spar many times before the year was over, he wanted to spend it with Atsuko. That as all he needed to know in his mind to be able to push himself forward, aiming for training, he wanted to sort of catch up perhaps, or get with her, in terms of power and maybe in terms of relationships. He didn't know exactly what was going on in his head, but he was happy as a smile grew back on his face, the serious face falling.
The Albino Saiyan listened to the words that Bernael had to offer at this point. "Yeah... Just might be enough to motivate them to get stronger! I know Tau won't be able to stand it for very long.", the Knight commented with a smile on her face. The human girl always took training and fighting so seriously. She never took the same amount of time to calm down and spend time with friends like Atsuko and Bernael did... Silently, she hoped that the girl wouldn't end up breaking down as a result, but this wasn't the time to become distracted!
He mentioned that he could have just powered up and then lowered back down to meet her strength, but before she could even give a response, Bernael pointed out that it probably would have just put an even greater strain on his body. Atsuko proceeded to nod. "Exactly, so it's better this way. No fancy tricks, just our own skill and techniques!", the Knight responded. Finally the half demon pointed out that they wouldn't really need Tau this time around, and that was a fair point. They were both skilled enough now to make due on their own. But she couldn't help but reminisce on the past.
"Heheh... If you can't, I'll have to give you another lecture, just like last time! I know you don't want that.", the Albino Saiyan replied in a teasing tone of voice. With all of that set aside, Bernael then stated that it was time to begin. With that, the Knight nodded. Her expression now fading to a more serious one. It was just sparring, of course. But to give him anything less than her true prowess would be an insult, he came far enough to deserve that type of respect. That much she was certain of.
So the Knight rushed forth... And the 'days' passed just like that. A constant cycle of training and sparring. Chatting and eating. Sleeping... It was the exact same thing no matter how long it stretched on, but it honestly didn't bother the Albino Saiyan in the slightest. Bernael had proven to be some of the best company she could ask for, and her feelings only grew for him over the year that they spent together. The Knight grew certain of the fact that she held a deep admiration for him that could be described as love. Well, spend an entire year with just one person...
That tends to happen. Day in and day out, they kept up the routine. They didn't have much trouble finding things to talk about, though there were understandably a few days where they just focused on their training due to lack of conversational topics. But even in a vast white void of nothingness, there were events that happened that gave the two something to talk about eventually. Then came the fateful day... The sand in the hourglass fell completely to the bottom, and the clock's bell began to sound off. Their training within the Time Chamber was over.
Atsuko exits her stance, looking over at Bernael. "Well... It's time. Let's go, together.", the Knight stated. Then opening the door and stepping out into the world once more...

"Well, I guess I don't want to get lectured TOO badly again~" the boy would say, sticking his tongue out at her as she was teasing him back. He deserved it to be honest, he was sort of teasing her for the time being, even if the teasing was meant with good intentions and actual feeling behind it. That caused him to be fully determined with going against the knight, all he would really need is his wit and his training as of then, and he would be able to go against Atsuko as she was right now, it would be a spar to help them both progress, to get stronger and surpass their limits. The year wouldn't be easy, but it certainly wouldn't be as hard as it could be, with someone like this around.
The demon boy smiled to himself, patting down his clothes after the very last sparring session that they had together and were in the middle of. The demon boys hair had grown out quite a bit, being a more puffy, longer mess of red. He didn't mind it though, he sort of liked the look that it had, but he would end up cutting it once he got out, he wanted his old hair back just a tad bit. He spent an entire year with this woman, and he was almost entirely certain that the feelings that he felt on the very first day were real. Bernael didn't mind everything that had went down in the chamber, as an entire year passed by and they got to get all the training done. Though, a year didn't really pass, having all that time together in there and coming out to just a twenty four hour change from when they went in would surely be weird, but he didn't mind, as he had better things to focus on. Bernael's feelings were truly genuine, even if he wouldn't come out just yet and confess that he was in love, and it wouldn't start a relationship, that didn't matter. His mind was already prepared to do so if he actually wanted to come out and say it. His smile grew wide on his face as he stretched, a year with somebody surely would do that to someone, especially when there was so much they could talk about while in there for all that time.
"Alright Atsuko, I am ready to go, together" he said back to her, following towards her, he mused on the thought of them saying together to each other, even though it wasn't an official together like a couple would be, he certainly liked the idea that it could happen some day. "I am so glad with our progress over this past year... this was definitely, worth it, no matter what this was" he would say to himself, getting ready to traverse the white light of the door back into the real world as they left it, only a days events passing by for them to learn of.
