"Passenger you are arriving at the Planet Plant. This is the Homeworld...of the...Tuff...les..." The computer started out clearly and the slowly degenerated into a static state of unpleasant system failures. Harumaki, who had fallen asleep listening to some relaxing tunes from his home planet, did not hear the warning of the ships malfunction and all necessary personnel to eject immediately.
The already battle worn space pod that Haru had salvaged from the now defunct Shattered Skulls, trailed across the beautiful sunlit sky of the Tuffle home world, its cargo the worst gift any planet or person could ever hope to ever receive. "Sy...stem...Fai...Good...B..!" The stuttering fractured voice of the ships computer said before violently exploding dejecting Harumaki from the one man pod and sending his body rag dolling around a few metal post before slamming face first into nicely paved sidewalk.
A Few Minutes Passed...
"Why am I on my face?" Harumaki asked himself as he picked his head up, his vision a little blurry from his eyes being closed for so long. Pushing his self up Haru was now sitting with his legs straight out and his arms behind him his hand taking most of his weight. Looking around he could see the debris of ship scattered around him nothing of value was left except for the black capsule which was still safely tucked in his inner most pocket.
"Let's see here before I go through with this I need to find a worthy opponent to test my abilities on. So far I can only pick up weaklings in this area, if i fly up maybe I can find someone worth my while." Haru muttered as he manipulated his ki to levitate into the air so he could better increase his range of sensing.
In a couple minutes Haru picked up an usually high power coming from a mansion that was not even a mile away from his location. The young Saiyan smirked as he reached into his pocket, grasped the obsidian capsule, pulled it out, as a red aura engulfed him and he flew in its direction.
Upon arrival Haru, calmly walks up to the door, with his headphones still in playing music and knocks three times and waits for an answer.
Demalia wasn't anywhere near the front door when Harumaki knocked on her door. She was down in her lab, typing away on her computer and designing the plans for... something. It appeared to be in the initial concept stage, whatever it was. It seemed to be some kind of disk that had quite a bit of mechanical parts inside of it. She was interrupted from her work though when a security console on the wall let out a few beeps before producing a hologram of the front door of her mansion. Demalia pushed out from her table and walked over to it calmly. It was just a standard notification that someone was there, so she wasn't particularly worried. She took one look before heading up to the ground floor. It took a few minutes, but she opened the doors soon enough and greeting Harumaki.
"Um, hello there! I don't know what a Saiyan would want with me, but guests are welcome here! You're a little too tall to be even a hybrid Tuffle, so I presume you're a Saiyan. Forgive me if I'm wrong about that though. What's that in your hand?"
Demalia was looking down at the hand that was grasping... a capsule? This was the thing that was piquing Demalia's curiosity the most. Even his appearance and the headset he was wearing wasn't as interesting to her. What could possibly in that capsule? Was it something he needed help with? Maybe it was why he came to her house in the first place. Whatever it was, Demalia was excited at the prospect of learning what it was.
Harumaki let out a sigh as the door opened and a girl who was shorter then his sister answer appeared before him. She was going on about something but due to his music he could not make out what she was saying. She wore red-framed glasses, had long pig-tails, and looked more like a scientist then a fighter.
"Listen I came here to test my new power out on someone but I don't want to end up dying or worse wasting the power on a bunch of weaklings. So how about it short stuff... you, me go all out and see who is the alpha here?" Harumaki offered in a sly, convincing tone, clicking the obsidian capsule and revealing an advanced medical syringe filled with an unknown dark substance.
Harumaki waited patiently for Demalia's answer hoping to get the fight that he had been looking for.
All of a sudden she found herself at the end of a bunch of unpleasantness that she did not expect to happen. This guy was demanding a fight with her. It was clear from his tone that he meant everything he was saying. Demalia looked at him with shock, reaching up and taking off her glasses.
“Um, do we have to fight? There must be some other way to test your strength. I have a gravity chamber and ways of calculating strength. What do you have in your hand there? Is it some kind of substance to raise your power? Those can have dangerous side effects. You shouldn’t risk using something like that just to see what you’re capable of.”
Demalia put her glasses away, her eyes fixated on the syringe that had the black liquid inside of it. She had no earthly idea what it was. It was something she had never seen before. The Tuffle hybrid felt cold looking at it though. Every instinct was telling here that whatever it was, it was dangerous.
"Gravity...Chamber...?" Harumaki paused for a moment crossing his arms as his thick locks freely danced in the breeze that graced the two individuals outside of the magnificent mansion that was owned by Demalia. "You know what Short Stuff I don't like like Saiyans at all but you on the other hand, I like your...glasses." Harumaki noticed that Demalia had removed her eye ware as if to prepare for combat if it was necessary.
The young Saiyan smirks as walks closer to the shorter Tuffle and places the hand not holding the syringe on top of her tiny nugget. "How about this Little Sis you let me use that Gravity Chamber and I let you analyze the substance in the syringe. The only catch is you have to inject me the substance once you run all the test no matter what. So what do you say Gum Drop." Harumaki removes his hand from the top of Demalia's head and outstretches his arm expressing a shake to seal the deal.
"Do we have an accord?" Haru waited for the young Tuffles answer. With the help of the Gravity Chamber he could increase his overall stamina to whatever effects may spawn from said syringe.
Demalia couldn’t make sense of this guy. She stiffened when he put his hand on her hair. She did not like that contact one little bit. A few things were becoming clear about this mysterious individual though. Unfortunately they weren’t exactly good things.
<This person is unpleasant. If I leave him to his own devices he’s going to hurt innocent people.>
When he removed his hand from her head, Demalia slipped on her scouter and turned it on. It registered his power at 1000, which was considerably above the average Tuffle.
<Even if he can release more power, I can deal with him even in my current state. It would be wrong to attack him without provocation. He hasn’t done anything yet, but I know he will if I refuse. And he’s strong enough to do serious harm if left unchecked.>
Demalia had a very hard choice to make here. In the end, the least violent route was the one where she agreed to his terms. She reached out her hand, gripping his hand gently as she shook it.
“I accept these terms. Please close the doors behind you. I’ll take you to the chamber immediately.”
Once she was sure he was following her, Demalia led him through the mansion and down a staircase. They came to a large cellar filled with boxes and other things. At the far end was a huge steel door. It was wide open at the moment, but it appeared to have some kind of security system. Demalia walked through the threshold, waiting for her guest to do the same. Once he was through, she let out a command.
“Sol, seal the doors and activate the security system.”
The steel door closed behind them, leaving them on a in a small chamber illuminated by fluorescent bulbs. There was a staircase and an elevator nearby. Demalia went up to a hand print scanner. A white light moved up and down to read it.
“Access is granted. Welcome back Demalia. Your time away didn’t last long this time.”
A main voice tinged with a slight mechanical tone spoke through some kind of intercom system. The elevator doors slid open, revealing a stainless steel interior that was well polished and clean. She stepped onto the rug and motioned for the Saiyan to come in. She pressed a number on a touchscreen display, which closed the elevator doors and sent them downwards. Demalia turned and looked at the Saiyan wearily. Despite her power being stronger than his, he was making her feel uncomfortable within this close proximity to each other.
“Um…. I don’t suppose you could tell me what that substance is? It would make researching what it is easier. You’re a Saiyan, right? Why do you hate your own race?”
Harumaki followed the small Tuffle girl into her home as she gently clasped his hand. He was a bit confused because he sensed she was strong but she held back that strength in her grip. "So she isn't one to go flaunting her power around like some arrogant prick, I like that about you Girl Scout." Harumaki folded his hands behind the back of his head and continued onward after Demalia.
Her home was a pleasant one and nothing like anything he had seen on Sadal. The security system had a name, Sol, and it sealed the mighty steel doors behind them which ensured their protection from any outside visitors. Harumaki continued to follow the Tuffle female who he was now beginning to think was a scientist. Her home was coming more to life the deeper they moved into its depths.
The Saiyan and Tuffle scientist were now both in a polished, stainless steel elevator with a nice soft rug in the center. Harumaki could pick up on the small girls uneasiness and noticed her attention was focused on the syringed. It would only be seconds later before she was asking if he had any clue of what the substance was in the vile he held. She also inquired about his disdain for his own race and what caused the issue.
"Well Cupcake let me break it down to you like this. I come from a long line of people who believe in Justice so blindly they completely forget about the number one priority and that s your family, also they are weaklings who don't strive for anything but t protect Sadal and weak people, which as you can already tell I am not like that." Harumaki opened his hand and looked down at the syringe with the black substance inside and the smirk that was gracefully drawn across his face was no longer there.
"I only heard the name of this used once and it was by the head of the Shattered Skulls. He called it a Zenom Injector, so it's safe to assume the black goop inside is the Zenom stuff." Harumaki stated as he held out the syringe for the Tuffle girl to take. "Okay Sunflower put those glasses on and let's make me unstoppable." Harumaki said as he began to stretch and roll up his left sleeve to take the initial dose of the Zenom Injector.
”Er…. thanks? I’m not sure what you mean by Girl Scout, but if it’s some kind of insult on my height, It would be nice if you refrained from calling me that.”
Demalia listened to what this strange individual was saying, a frown spreading across her face. A lot of the things he was saying sounded so callus. Except for the part about family. Demalia found that she had a quite a bit to say on the subject matter.
“I admire the Saiyans for what they do. Protecting your family certainly is important, but you shouldn’t devalue everything else for that sole goal. There’s nothing wrong with protecting the innocent, as long as you don’t neglect everything else. There’s nothing wrong with being weak either.”
When the Saiyan offered her syringe and pulled up his sleeve, Demalia shook her head. He was a little off putting, but she wasn’t going to put him into unnecessary danger.
“I’d appreciate it if you just called me Demalia from now on. I won’t be sticking this syringe into you right now. We’re in the elevator, and injecting something with unknown effects in an enclosed space like this is dangerous. Actually….. I think it’s just dangerous in general to stick in something without knowing the effects. We had a deal, remember? I find out what this does, and then I inject you with it. I have agreed to administer it if you want it, but I have to make sure this is safe. Even after knowing the name, I’m still not sure of all the effects it can have on you. Things like this can vary from species to species. Maybe it’s dangerous for a Saiyan. I will hold up my end of our deal, but not until we both know what it is. You can go train in the gravity chamber until I do."
The elevators door stopped, and they ended up in a huge hallway that branched off into several different ways. There were these cubes that appeared to be transparent. It was clear they were supposed to be rooms. Although it didn’t look like normal glass, if that’s what it was. It shimmered in a strange way. Demalia turned right at the crossroad, staying at a slow enough pace so that he could keep up with her.
“Well, this is my lab. There’s usually more droids and robots running around helping me with things, but today was a day where I didn’t need to use as much power or resources. Stick close to me. You don't have a scouter, so you could easily get lost if you lost sight of me.”
Demalia led him to a bigger structure that was only partially transparent. Demalia took out some kind of card from her pocket and tapped it against a screen. A light above the door changed from green to red. Demalia turned to look over at the Saiyan.
“I don’t need as much security for my gravity chamber. The controls are self explanatory. I’d recommend starting on the lowest setting and working your way up. If all goes well, you’ll get what you want before you leave here today. I’m going to go and find out what this Zenom Injector is capable of.”
Demalia slipped the syringe into her pocket and turned a corner. This Saiyan was extremely reckless. He was willing to stick some foreign substance he didn't know about into his body just for the possibility of getting stronger. He probably wasn’t going to be happy with having to wait, but Demalia wasn't sticking in a mysterious substance into his body without knowing what it did.
