Ah wastelands... Ironically one of the most populated areas for training. With little to no life in the area and plenty of destructible targets, there was little wonder why people would favor this environment. It was late at night, a time when Liari was able to sneak some time alone amongst the many rock-pillars that dotted the wastes. Dusty winds blew around the majin who squinted her eyes in a protective effort, trying to peer through the veil and find a nice little rock to punch... Besides absorption, Liari knew little about how to actually "power-up" as these people liked to say. She often saw the inhabitants of this planet punch stationary objects like rocks or trees... or the air like there was some kind of invisible opponent dodging their every move. She would NEVER just flail herself around in the air like some of those humans did... It was so... embarrassing... How they just stood their kicking and punching and screaming and blasting at nothing with such concentration on their faces... She just couldn't bring herself to be demeaned in such a way... Should anyone be watching, it would look like some kind of mad-dance, the movements of a lunatic! That's how it all seemed to her...
SO! Instead, she picked out a nice little rocky pillar around the center of the wasteland where the storms were few and the ground was solid. The young-looking Majin lowered herself into a stable, strong stance, both of her fists cocked back by her sides, a strong if immobile position to throw a punch from. With a quick yell, she threw a straight punch from her position of power, her fist digging into the rock somewhat deeply, up to the base of her thumb before coming to a sudden halt. A comically large shiver crawled up Liari's arm and shoulder up to her torso and she slowly retracted her hand to reveal a bunch of scratches upon her knuckles and fingers, a clear sign that she did, indeed punch a rock. She winced in pain, staring a the marks, surprised how easily she came across such damage... And how little she inflicted.
"Oh... Ouch..." She whispered softly, the marks soon disappearing as her body quickly regenerated. She looked very disappointed, almost heartbroken... She remembered the days she could level level rocky pillars this size NO PROBLEM, likely without even needing a fist to do so... Was this really all she could do now...? Was this truly the best she could do...?
’You’re doing it wrong,’ the snide and somewhat self-assured voice of Sinthe the Destroyer would be the first thing which the Majin would know of his approach or arrival. It was not uncommon for him to chase down this or that power when they took his interest but in this case he had taken a particular care to conceal his own presence being that he so far outclassed the one who’d taken his fleeting fancy. That was the other thing which was radically different, oftentimes he would scour far and wide for a worthy challenger to keep him from succumbing to boredom but in this instance it was because whatever he was sensing he had no conception of what it was. If there was one thing which he hated more than boredom it was most certainly not knowing. In the course of his long, long life he had terrorized the universe entire from one side to the other and seen many a strange and fantastical thing.
At this point gaps in his knowledge were embarrassing as much as anything.
’Internal pressure, not external force,’ yet as much as he was several systems’ worst nightmare he could also choose to be helpful when he was feeling up for it, the… off blue blob… woman… he guessed was lucky to have already taken his interest in that regard. Not merely that, but he highly suspected that Earth was rubbing off on him poorly. Or maybe he was just having a mid-life crisis. ’No matter how powerful you become it’s no good if you just throw your weight into a target, if you master your inner ki flow however…’ The Anubian trailed off, looking one way, then the other as he searched for something to demonstrate his point with, eventually he seemed to settle on the similar if much larger rock pillar behind him and stood up straight from where he’d been leaning on it.
With one hand nonchalantly tucked away behind him he brought the other forward, still looking entirely relaxed in stark contrast of his impromptu understudy’s very proper, very rigid form. Taking a deep breath he let his power slip again, capping it at roughly three or so times that of the… he really needed to ask what she was at some point. Whipping the hand to one side he struck at the pillar with a chopping motion that was more akin to the way someone might bat away a fly. Indeed the edge of his palm seemed to make contact with only the lightest of taps before he started sauntering over to the strange being he found himself with, apparently unconcerned that his little demo had yielded no real fruit.
Wait for it…
Suddenly the spot which he had not really struck very hard at all cracked, it was nothing, just the smallest chip imaginable flinging itself free of the rock surface, leaving a gap and two teeny little hairline cracks where it had been. These cracks though soon grew longer, wider, split and multiplied until the entire rock face was a spider web of such flaws all off-shooting into three or four more at a time. It didn’t take a genius to see what would happen when the linked up. Beaming a warm smile that still somehow held an air of quiet menace as the whole thing came crashing down behind him, Sinthe concluded his lesson and got right down to the reason why he was here. ’Cool stuff like that can happen. Now. What are you exactly and what are you doing on my planet?’WC: 598 Thread PL: 111,733 Initial Suppressed: 1 Supressed Pl: 10,000
Liari grimaced as some voice out of nowhere judged her attack. Why couldn't people just leave her alone...? She had been in tiny planets with populations far bigger than this and somehow she had been able to find more time to herself THERE than her time HERE... She was starting to suspect that this planet's inhabitants were moving against the Majin in some way, that they somehow knew her distaste for their kind and were actively trying to stick it to her any way they can... If she was a tad more callow and hadn't lived as long as she had, she might've actually believed that was the case... For now, the little majin merely believed she was woefully unlucky.
She looked up and around the pillar from where the voice originated to be met with some kind of purple dog-like creature, staring down at her with a condescending look to match his tone. His power was greater but not very much so and she had no reason to suspect he was holding anything back. She merely huffed at him as he gave his... "Enlightened opinion" on the matter of her strikes, Liari crossing her arms in frustration.
"I don't want your help." She objected but the Anubian didn't seem to care. He continued on, stating that it was all "in-ter-nal", that she needed to focus less on the outside and more on the flow of Ki. What in the realm of hell did that mean? Was he some kind of riddler on TOP of being an annoying intruder...? Liari's face contorted in frustration and slight anger as the being set himself down besides the Majin, scoping out something with his gaze. Coming across a large pilar of stone, he merely tapped the side of the construct with the side of his hand the way one might chop a brick and, after a moment, nothing happened.
The... after two, the whole thing came crumbling down... Liari's eyes widened somewhat, mildly surprised but not much... That wasn't impressive at all! She had memories of doing the same thing with a finger. Still... this being DID just show up here apparently in an effort to show her up... and that got under her skin.
"Show-off..." She muttered, nearly spitting the words out. Without the slightest hint of manners or tact about him, the anubian asked what Liari was and what she was doing here, the glint in his eye showing a casual brutality just below the surface. His arrogance frustrated her among all the other things he's done today and that LOOK... He looked like he deserved a good punch in the face...
"I am "Ma-jin. That's what your earth-people call me." She explained roughly, letting out a sharp sigh in an effort to keep herself calm. "I am on your planet to find someone, if you must know... Will you leave me alone now?"
To her credit she had proffered the answers as requested but there were ways of doing things which were implicitly hostile and honestly she might have known better how to pick her battles. Majins though, he didn’t recognize the name, although she had also said that was just what the people on Earth would call her, He almost felt sorry for her, having a name imposed on her whole species by the Dirt People. Almost.
Staring the self identified Majin in the face his own expression cycled through a few variations, not quite sure what to make of what just happened. He blinked, raised an eyebrows, smiled as though he were about to laugh, all of this coming with the now familiar overtone of subsumed menace before finally he settled for an honest scowl. If she didn’t want his help that was perfectly fine, but there was no call whatsoever for rudeness. All his long life he had made it a particular tendency of his to destroy the rude… first.
But he had declined of late, yes he had declined, now he heard whispered tales of the Legendary Super Saiyan aplenty and yet not the faintest breath of Sinthe the Destroyer. The universe had forgotten him, the way one does with nightmares, it had rolled over and resumed a blissful respite at least for a time. No more.
Of course she was not to know and so as he straightened up, turning his nose nearly skyward as he stood over her it was already his intent to be merciful. ’Parts of you, yes…’ he trailed off a deep, low rasp of irritation as almost without knowing he let slip his energy again, the bloom of his aura surging up around him as he did, unacknowledged by its owner who had only slightly larger concerns on his mind.
With whip crack speed this time he burst in to motion. Whip crack was in fact a disservice to it, the flailing end of such a thing will look like it were travelling in slow motion compared to how Sinthe now thrust his hand forward, straight as an arrow, rigid as a blade, letting his claws do the work for him as he made to plunge the hand almost up his palm into the ungrateful Majin’s shoulder. From there it would be simple enough to twist and yank free over to one side, taking off the whole arm if he was quick and precise enough which he very much suspected that he was.WC:428 New Suppressed PL: 80,000 Basic Melee: 4,000 PL attempting to wrench off an arm
"What are you talking about?" She grumbled... before the being's true power became known to her (or so it seemed). It was huge... The cat-guy's aura exploded around him, practically making the entire wasteland shake with his power or so it felt. Her cocky tone immediately disappeared and her expression dropped into one of shock and... excitement, the presence of this new power making (what passed for) her heart race. All the eagerness in the world didn't allow her the sight to see the being's movements though, let alone be able to match them as, before she knew it, she felt his claws dig into her shoulder, it's power not quite what she expected but they easily pierced her hide. She yelped in pain, her un-grabbed arm clenching and tightening into fist, getting ready for some kind of counter-attack but before she new it... she felt her arm torn from her body... Funny... it had been so long since something like this happened she didn't even remember what it felt like until now... It didn't hurt... not at first... She felt lighter... confused, surprised to see her arm dismembered from her body and in the hands of this guy, not quite comprehending how it got there... Time seemed to slow down too, her vision blurring as the shock started to fade... pain slowly being introduced instead...
Her armor drooped somewhat without her shoulder to hold up the straps, inevitably revealing her chest somewhat though she hardly noticed... The wound didn't bleed in the least, only revealing a sort of soft, torn substance on the inside where her arm was once attached, writhing as if trying to find it's lost limb to connect too. The majin began falling back, her legs giving way beneath her, the place where her arm once rested writhing more and more... before it started to expand. Suddenly, her eyes snapped back into focus, regaining her footing at the last second. Her arm began to twitch and melt in the creature's hand, losing it's limb-like form where the side it was once connected too began to take shape.... vaguely like that of an arm... Liari jerked her head forward, her expression dead serious before the limb the cat-creature held suddenly stretched and expanded in a mass of blue goo, stretching over him like a blanket.
"Close!" She commanded and the mass obeyed, wrapping around and attempting to envelop the creature. Meanwhile, Liari's new arm took it's full shape, gloves and all, the presence of the new shoulder holding up her armor once again, hiding her chest once more.

Usually when you dismembered someone there was a satisfying sort of set tearing sound, you could feel the resistance give in your arm and suddenly be free to move again, but in this case that was not quite so. It was soft, as soft as anything might be what with the admitted power gap, but it didn’t feel like gouging muscle fibers it was more like… cookie dough? He’d have to test that.
Before he could however something else noteworthy and potentially disastrous occurred. The arm which he was holding seemed to melt and spread free of his grip, instead unfolding over him like a sheet, or perhaps net would have been more accurate. While this was happening however he didn’t so much as take his eyes of the Majin herself until his line of sight was broken by the enfolding trap in question.
’High speed regeneration…’ he said from under the cowl of flesh-goo that had by now completely enveloped his head. ’Morphable adaptive physiology…’ Though his voice was still that of someone surveying from a much higher plane there was something else in it, was Sinthe actually impressed? Amused? Perhaps only interested? He wasn’t entirely sure himself though at the very least his interest had bumped up a few notches from when he had first sensed the strange power that now surrounded him, suffused into this thing’s flesh. ’I assume this is some sort of feeding mechanism?’ He asked assuming that, since he was technically IN the creature’s body that it would be able to discern what he was saying. He’d seen similar things before, giant mollusks on the Moons of Vitae that would turn out their stomachs to dissolve their prey for want of teeth or indeed any kind of esophagus. Never something quite so elegant as this though, albeit that the obvious solution remained the same.
His hands and arms already covered in the substance, though it hardly seemed to impede him, reached for the centre of his chest and flew outwards as though tearing through the cloth of whatever might have been there if he actually went in for shirts. The result was at first uninspiring, the flesh-goo stretched and the hole which opened up was miniscule to say the least, but if the Majin had been paying any attention (debatable) then she could guess what was going to happen next. It was the same principle as smashing rocks of course, open up a flaw with your physical strength and blow open the fracture with your ki, kind of like a blasting cap now that he thought of it. It didn’t take much for his aura to tear through the fleshy veil around him, staying put this time to scatter and dissolve any parts of it which hung around, save for the last squirming ounce or so that he held in his hand.
’Were you trying to eat me?’ demanded the godling, hallway not even expecting an answer to that question and going about what he meant to do anyway. Bringing the remnants of what had once been the Majin’s arm to his face he sniffed it momentarily before cramming the squirming mass into his jaws, finding that it did indeed have the approximate texture of cookie dough although it didn’t taste nearly as good. And here he had expected blueberries. ’That’s awful,’ he said flatly. ’You’re awful.’ Having swallowed the morse he licked his top lip and surveyed the Majin again, paying particularly close attention to her torn arm. Good as new, he thought with a wicked smile.
’Those strange abilities, I can’t say I’ve ever encountered them in such an efficient and elegant combination before. Are they just a Majin thing or are you something special?’ He really did enjoy meeting new people sometimes, well new peoples anyway, it was nice when he didn’t have to kill them all as well but he was still weighing his options here.WC: 656 Blocking the "Absorption" attempt for 4,000PL flavoured as an aura burst.
For a moment, it seemed like Liari had him, her absorption attempt seeming to surpass her expectations! Well, she didn't trust a trick like that could trap someone of such overwhelming power... So, while the piece of her flesh arched out over the dog-being's face, blocking his line of sight, Liari held her hands out before her, twin balls of Ki massing in her palms, only getting larger as she poured her ki into the attack... The cat-man asked if this was some kind of feeding mechanism but the majin remained silent, only focusing on charging her energy... A large pinkish red aura blasted up around her causing the rocks upon the ground to raise up, the energy in her hands sparking...
Then, like she expected, with a quick burst of energy that sent the majin skidding back somewhat, the creature was free of her absorption attempt, only a few pieces squirming about him... A few came flying back at her which were completely absorbed into her body akin to a drop of water entering a larger body, entering with only the smallest of ripples. He asked if she was trying to "eat him", apparently outraged by that idea after he RIPPED OFF HER ARM before he literally took one of those pieces still upon him... and ate it... Liari's eyes went wide, stunned by his actions that he would actively choose to just... eat a piece of her right there... Her jaws ground angrily, disgusted by his apparent cannibalism and his glibness after doing so, calling her attempt aweful and that she TASTED aweful. Who did he think he was!?
"Rrrgh...." She growled her attack reaching it's completion, her expression sinister. "And you're vile... actually eating me! Absorption at least keeps you alive and existing inside me!" With that, she thrusted her hands forward, unleashing a pair of large energy blasts from her palms, the pink beams ripping across the ground towards the anubian. At this point, she knew she was completely beaten... These attacks were more for her own satisfaction now than anything else... Still, she wouldn't give up... not until she was flat on her back, powerless and even then.... quitting wasn't an option.
Though his interest had been piqued it seemed that any interest this creature offered had peaked. Though, it was at least interesting to hear that whoever SHE ate seemed to have some kind of existence within her still. Existence was overrated. Life was where it was at. The two were by no means equal, in point of fact one was exponentially crueler and he would not wish it on his worst enemy. Disappointing.
’Predation is perfectly natural I’ll have you know,’ the Anubian insisted as he took each beam in hand, allowing them to flow and build into his palm as he took hold of the energy, not by any means making it his own, but as good as. Having taken the best of her attack he was left with a ball of pink energy floating calmly above each palm. Gently he brought his hands together, cupping them in front of himself as though cradling water therein. The two orbs intermingled seamlessly, becoming a perfect one which crackled with a pink purplish discharge as it seemed to strain against the ki he used to keep it in thrall to him.
’So you… what? Steal people’s bodies and ram raid their memories while they go on “existing inside you? There’s a word for that you know? Parasitism.’ Giant mollusks at least just killed you and ate you, though he understood the process to be not quite so clean cut, you could be dying still while it was eating you over the course of several months, years even but at least it just killed you. Lo-jacking someone else’s… he didn’t want to say soul exactly but… personhood. In his capacity as a destructive being it was hard not to find such a thing highly offensive.
Just as gently he placed a finger to the base of the energy sphere, freeing up his other hand which he tucked nonchalantly behind him. ’I could wax lyrical now about sword grips and broom handles, but it’s not like you can help yourself right? Right.’ With a quick flick forward of his still raised digit the ball of stolen energy shot back towards its owner, but it was HIS attack now. There was some kind of irony here but he thought it better left unspoken, he just stood by smiling his self assured smile.WC: 391 Stamina: 2/3

Liari yelped and jumped up as the creature merely flicked her attack back at her, barely able to scrape by with her own energy blast barreling towards her. Her lonliness cannon exploded beneath her, sending up rocks and rubble into the air that bounced off of her, granted, but caused her some minor form of discomfort. The Cat-dog-thing then decided he'd pass judgement upon her, implying that her way of consumption was unnatural, and something to do with "sights..." whatever that meant... This guy wasn't making ANY sense. In fact, the only thing about him that held any kind of logic was what he could do with that ENORMOUS POWER of his. Continuing to ramble, this guy mentioned something about waxing handles, something Liari secretly thought had some kind of double meaning.... One she wouldn't DARE try to speculate about though...
"What do you want from me!?" She demanded, glaring up at the anubian. "Why are you even here right now? I can't be the only thing on this planet that int-er-ests you!"
Tired and frustrated, Liari lowered herself to the ground and crossed her legs in a sitting position, staring up at the creature in some sort of stupid defiance.

’Well before you started being rude I was trying to be helpful, doesn’t happen often let me tell you and I’m startin’ to recall exactly why.’ He definitely wasn’t up for teaching, he had decided, helping in general more than likely. Seeing the defeated form of the crestfallen Majin before him only filled him with a deep seated sense of persuasive disgust, a widening pit right down in his guts. Or… actually… maybe he was just getting hungry, he hadn’t eaten in like an hour. A whole hour! Either way he didn’t really have any kindhearted words of encouragement to offer and he definitely wasn’t the kind of person that went in for hair ruffling. So what did he want then?
’I want you to stop looking so sorry for yourself, get up off your ass an throw me another one already.’ Standing above her, his voice still filled with menace he glared down at her sideways as though she weren’t worth his full and undivided attention. ’If you’re any sort of martial artist then even faced with an impassable barricade you should exhaust all of your options before giving up, even then if it proves an impossible task you can use it to grow and learn.’
Lifting the hand nearest to her he snapped his palm up to Liari’s face, only a few inches or so separating them, the soft purplish glow of his aura floated lazily around him, rolling and breaking about itself like something halfway between smoke and water, a soft, constant breeze emanating from where he stood, whipping up dust and rolling pebbles here and there but little more. It was pretty clear there wasn’t going to be an option B, but Sinthe felt like spelling it out anyway.
’Alternatively, you can sit there and I’ll entertain myself by testing the limits of your regenerative properties. Could you survive if I turned you into a bluish smear? If I severed each individual molecule from the next? If I ground even those down to the constituent atoms? I don’t know if you have the same pain response as a carbon based lifeform, but I can’t imagine that it would feel any good.’WC: 365 Stamina: 3/3
Well... Disregarding all what the Anubian had said, he had put himself in a rather vulnerable position, lowering himself to the ground before her so he could loom over the Majin judgmentally. He didn't exactly have his guard up as far as Liari could tell though it wasn't like he needed it... His power was nothing short of absolutely, positively insane. Hell, if such a power was transmuted into numbers, Liari wouldn't even be able to count that high.
Still, his threat of blasting her to to bits on the atomic level didn't threaten her... Not really... Not since he already played on her pride, essentially calling her weak and idiotic for A, not fighting him with every ounce of strength she had and B, not taking his advice when he offered it so kindly. OH THE RESTRAINT IT TOOK to shut up... To just... let that one go... She wouldn't if she had a chance at winning. Kai's willing, she'd blast that man until dust blocked out the sky and the core of the earth exposed itself but against something like this... something so completely and utterly FILLED with energy... Laezi had filled her younger sister with enough sense to know that this was where you had to shut up and respect your elders...
"...I'm.... sorry." She managed to choke out, her voice strained but there was clear genuine intent behind those words... If less than one might expect of her. "N-not used to people like you wanting to help people like me. I keep to myself... Didn't trust you or your 'ad-vice'." Scooting back a bit so that she didn't bang her head on the cat-man's chin when she stood up, the Majin got to her feet, her power flaring up around her aggressively. She would give him what he wanted... Surprisingly, admitting how screwed she was on her treatment of this... god-powered being actually cleared her head a bit and thinking back now... she saw how... RUDE she was to him... It was honestly a WONDER why this guy didn't rip her half-particle from half-particle already.
"But I am listening to you now... Here I come."
With that, Liari dashed at the Anubian, throwing a barrage of heavy punches at his stomach, cheeks and nose in an effort to show him the BEST she could do... right now. Through the punches, the majin would follow up with a quick knee to his gut and, if that hit, she'd drift past him just a bit and then strike his neck with her elbow, pooling a great deal of her power into each attack.
