Another day of searching for her sister turning up fruitless, another day Liari spent alone to herself. She kept even further away from human civilization than normal, chasing higher power-levels in an effort to either take out her frustrations on someone or have someone beat the frustration out of her like a reverse stress dummy. Most Powers she got close to disappeared as she approached, others just turned out to be a coagulation of other weakling powers, nothing with her time... It was frustrating her so much she was literally on the verge of tears.... either that or mindless aggression. It was hard to tell right now...
It was then that her eyes snapped in the direction of a great power, one stationary, solid and FAR away from any civilization she knew of... And VERY high up... It surprised her that anything like that would be somewhere that far up, especially since all the once she's seen so far had been all down below. Curious, she immediately shot off in the direction of that power, pursuing it with gusto. It was strange... These new clothes she had bought with her new earth-money were heavy and restricting as hell but she still felt more powerful... It felt good! It really did... made her think she was already surpassing her sister, wherever she may be. They never used weights before when getting strong so using them now... helped.
Liari flew and flew until she was nearly out of breath by the time she saw the large lookout seemingly hovering above a very tall, very thin tower... She would've questioned how that was even possible if she wasn't so out of breath... The majin hadn't grown used to the extra weight or the thinner atmosphere up here, leaving her slightly out of breath as she hovered up to the ladder on the side of the structure, grasping hold of one of the rungs and climbing up.
The Majin stared off over the flat face of the lookout a building off in the distance though it was hardly complex.... Humble really. This place was as barren as the wastelands and deserts she frequented, though hardly as messy. Frustrating.
If whoever was up here responded to her presence, they would see a little 4'6'' Majin in a heavy black shirt with a thick, heavy black belt and thicker red boots and gloves, quite obvious they were straining her with how tense her arms and muscles were. Her cape was also among her waited clothing much to her discomfort, grimising as she adjusted the tie on her throat with her finger. Slowly... she was starting to hate these weights...

about Jie Shan Lan Dian
"Quotes are a waste of time. Actions speak louder than words."
Jie Shan sat atop his humble and decidedly cozy Lookout, sitting in the foyer of the building that sat atop the Lookout. Jie Shan sat cross legged on the floor, the white and stone interior made in an ancient and bygone era a stark contrast to the silvery haired individual dressed in an obviously modern fashion: a simple white tank-top and a some orange pants that Earthlings referred to as 'basketball shorts'. It had been near an hour ago that Jie Shan had finished another daily workout session and had started another bout of exercise, albeit this one of a mental variety. Jie Shan sat with his arms spread wide, holding an ancient scroll as he buried his nose in it and was deep into reading the scrolls of ancient guardians and their knowledge.
It was truly fascinating material, thought Jie Shan, and while not all of it was pertinent to his new duties as Kami, Jie Shan lapped it up with vigor. The Saiyan hybrid had always been the curious sort and such histories were fascinating, new and foreign. And besides, he thought, reading of the Kami's of bygone eras was a worthwhile endeavor. His readings would provide the template with which he would administer this new planet as its local deity and protector.
And how desperately he wanted to be a good one. His brown Saiyan tail twitched behind him, as if responding to his want. There was so much responsibility. . . Jie Shan was no stranger to such responsibilities, of course, having acted as a Councilor and administrator within the Saiyan Alliance, but this was something new and much larger and more important than that old life he had lead. These scrolls would be his guide down the path to protecting Earth and he cherished their ancient and venerable contents.
Of course, he could not do it alone and he did not have to: plenty of people frequented the Lookout and he counted them among his many allies. People like Chris, Flare, Galen, and maybe even that stupid brat Komatsu, they all were on his side, at least in some ways and some more than others. . .
Jie Shan's ears suddenly perked up as energy pinged and skipped against his mind, much like a stone across the surface of a lake. Grunting, Jie Shan set the scroll aside and lumbered to his feet, Saiyan tail coiling tight around his waist. A visitor? Who could it be? Chris? Flare? Komatsu? No, no, and no. This energy was much weaker than any of those three or anyone he really knew at all. And, not to mention, it was unfamiliar to him, a newcomer, somebody he had never met before.
Stumbling towards the door, Jie Shan suddenly thrust himself into sunlight beneath a bright blue sky with not a single trace of cloud around them, save for below. His dark Saiyan eyes darted around the Lookout, looking for this sudden source of energy that had crept up on him before it fell on a strange, young. . . girl-thing?
"Oh!" He exclaimed, "Hello, and welcome to the Lookout. Might I ask what business you have up here?"

It seemed that Liari didn't need to call out the power within the building seeing as he actually stumbled out to meet her. The guy was actually... very unimpressive. He didn't have the large bulk she was expecting to go with his HUGE power, his stature the way he came out to meet her was.. different to say the least and his greeting really didn't have the impact that she was expecting. The Majin would normally show very little respect for him due to his appearance, taking him SOLELY at face value but this power... this beautiful, beautiful strength that seemed to have no end... It inspired a great admiration in the Majin... she wanted that... she SO wanted that... And because she craved the strength that bubbled beneath this man's less-than-intimidating exterior, she bowed before him, much to her physical discomfort. She had seen humans do it before in front of those that held their little lives in their hands... a sign of... submission...? Esteem to their power... The man welcomed her to "The Look-out" (a name she'd never figure it'd be called because all the clouds got in the way of seeing anything) and asked what her purpose here was...
"I sensed your power..." She explained, not raising up from her bow. "You're very strong... Please... Fight me... Help me become like you are..." The majin had no word for the concept of "training". After all, a train was some kind of big metal rectangle that rolled around on tracks! She still hadn't learned all the words there were in the Earth-Language but she was trying... she was really trying.
The Majin glanced up from her bow, looking to check the almighty being's reaction to her request, her expression hopeful if nothing else.
"I... I need to get stronger and you're so powerful... please help me...?"

The little Majin thing offered Jie Shan a bow, and an odd feeling struck him. The Elemi halfblood had never been one for formalities, as he often told Dou Furu and Galen. Even titles made his skin crawl a tad, and they felt wrong when assigned to him, at least from Jie Shan's point of view. Even back during his Saiyan Alliance days, he had never liked to be called Captain or Councilor, or whatever other titles he had held on the Saiyan planet; the young Saiyan was simply not one for formalities, at least as far as his self was concerned.
The thing that he thought to be some kind of girl offered an explanation as to her purpose on his Lookout: she sensed his power. The urge to slap his own forehead came over him; Jie Shan was very bad at remembering to suppress his own power, very rarely remembering to do so passively. And while it seemed to do little harm in this scenario, Jie Shan knew that in the future he might not get so lucky with his strange new visitors. The Saiyan would need to right himself a note and get in the habit of checking himself at times.
The Majin girl requested that Jie Shan fight her, and the Saiyan hybrid had to grin. Was the Majin a Saiyan after all? Very few people would so willingly throw themselves at an opponent on the level of Jie Shan, save for Saiyans. But there was another caveat to it: the girl wanted to grow strong like him.
Jie Shan lifted an arm and planted it on the back of his, burying it in silvery locks and massaging the back of his skull. Did the Majin want Jie Shan to train them? Jie Shan knew well enough that the Kami had a duty to do such things, as a way of cultivating and protecting Earth, but there was some measure of hesitation: what was her purpose?
"Sure," he said, "But first, tell me why you want me to train you. Like, what's your purpose for getting stronger? I'm not fixing to help the next genocidal maniac, you know!"

Liari glanced up as the practically all-powerful being inquired why she wanted to get strong in the first place, that he wouldn't EVER train some "jen-oh-sy-doll Main-ee-ack", whatever that meant. She had know idea what that meant let alone assure him she wasn't, so instead, she'd just respond to his question... It was the best she could do, after all...
"I-I need to find my sister..." Liari said, hesitantly, this guy being the first person ever she had confided in. Liari wasn't in the habit of lying so she couldn't POSSIBLY come up with anything convincing nor would she try too... that would be disrespectful to someone so utterly radiant in ki. "I have gotten weaker... a lot weaker... and I need to get back to full power... I d-don't want to hurt this planet or it's earth-people... I just want to find my older sister again..."
There was very clearly sorrow in her voice, this confession heavier than the weights on her body, perhaps even heavier than this lookout. The fact she had gone this long without confiding in someone was a great feat in it of itself, though she hardly believed so NOR did she expect this man to be impressed by her struggle. She didn't care if he was disgusted by her weakness, coming to him for help or if he took pity on her and indulged her request. Liari just wanted more power... NEEDED more power... AND granted, her request was selfish, there was no doubt and she didn't even seem interested in protecting the planet this guy apparently looked-out over and that sent fear into her heart. What if this guy would take that as a sign of offense and said no? What if he would only help her if she'd take on a guardian roll?
"I-I will do anything I have too..." she said quickly, tears of disgust forming in her own eyes at her own utter weakness... She hated this... HATED showing her belly to someone she didn't know but she was desperate...

The Majin girl seemed visually distressed about something, even more so than moments before. Jie Shan cocked an eyebrow as he wondered just what was about to be said, not quite sure what to expect from the young creature. Jie Shan was passingly familiar with the Majin people, though they remained an anomaly to him, they struck him as an odd and almost childish sort of people. This was actually his first time interacting with one at length; this was sure to be interesting. What reason would a child-like bubble gum monster desire more power for? To pull some really cool pranks?
But what the Majin said surprised Jie Shan, coming entirely from left field: the girl sought more power so that she could find her elder sister. Jie Shan paused a moment, and considered her with softer eyes. Though, of course, the first thought was: could Majins have siblings? Though he quickly chased the thought away: Jie Shan should know best of all people: blood relations did not matter when it came to matters of family, not one little bit.
The second thought was much more personal: he could understand the longing to find a loved one.
"Alright," he said with a sigh, "I'll show you a few things, no strings attached. Who am I to stand in the way of someone just wanting to find their family?"
Jie Shan shook his head and sighed. "Okay," he began, "The best way for us to go forward is for you to show me what you already know. I can feel your power and the fact that you were able to even get up here in the first place proves well enough that you're not some random nobody."
Jie Shan folded his arms. "So, go ahead, throw a punch at me or something."

Liari's smile widened as the being accepted her offer generously, claiming that he would show her a thing or two with no strings attached... whatever that meant! She got the gist! Liari reached behind her, between her weighted cape and back and withdrew a long metal pipe, clean and slick with a slight curve on the end, almost in the way a cane might have. It was like one of those pipes a... uh.... "gang-ster" might use to beat the insides out of some poor defenseless sap. Say what you will, but it's the most satisfying thing in the world to beat someone over the head with a club... Something about how the impact reverberates up your arm and the sound it makes when metal strikes something.... So good... The Majin held her pipe behind her as if already preparing to swing before, with one mighty jump, she lunged towards the man, tightening her grip on her weapon all the while.
The instant the man fell in range of her pipe, the Majin brought it around, attempting to smash the head of the weapon into the right temple of the man's head. She quickly retracted her pipe, whether it hit or not, and brought it up in a sickening arc, attempting to strike right under the guy's chin, a blow that would send any normal man reeling. Finally, she'd retract her pipe one more time, shifting her grip so that she was holding it with two hands, almost like a spear with no point before jabbing it forward towards the man's gut in an effort to take the air out of him...
Liari could feel, though, that her movements were sluggish, almost painfully so. She could completely feel the difference between her now and at max power and she knew that if she hit this guy like this... he'd be letting her... THE SHAME! But then... she had to show this guy her weaknesses for him to help her fix them right...? That's what teachers did for the stupid... and what masters did for the weak...?

The little Majin girl fussed with her cape and withdrew a long, metal pipe from within. A weapon, thought Jie Shan, albeit a very sad one. The young hybrid Kami had encountered a fair few unusual fighting styles in his day, but never anything with something so. . . domestic. Weapons were rare these days, he noted, outside of arm cannons and the like for the less ki inclined individuals. A shame, he thought, as the way of the weapon master was an art unlike any other, a calling that had a certain kind of grace that the fist swinging fools that ruled the universe lacked.
But a pipe? It was almost sad.
Jie Shan did nothing except watch the girl with simple bemusement as she rushed him. He could have reacted, he could have done anything at all, but instead he just stood there as the girl rushed him slowly. Slowly, of course, by his standards. The eyes of the Super Saiyan tier warrior had no trouble following the girl, but she was well above that of the standards of this planet. It just so happened that she was in dire straits compared to the powers that mattered in this universe.
The pipe collided with his face, then his gut, in a quick flurry that made Jie Shan feel absolutely nothing at all, aside from a dull thud that carried no real power behind it. As the girl came to a stop, Jie Shan tilted his head and looked at her with cool regard.
"Man," said Jie Shan, "you really could do with some training, couldn't you?"
Jie Shan shrugged.
"Alright, now tell me- or show me-," he continued, " if you can you manipulate ki. It's er. . ."
He trailed off, thinking about the best way to explain it to somebody who might not understand it at all. He raised a hand and a small, glowing ball of energy formed in the palm of it, twinkling with soft yellow.
Liari's blows bounced right off God's body harmlessly with each strike, the recoil snaking it's way up her arm an and into her shoulder uncomfortably each time... It was like she was striking a human sized pole in the ground with how little he gave... Heck, she didn't even spot his skin being pushed with each blow... Was this how strong the guardian of the planet was...? After her quick barrage of strikes just bounced off with no indication of damage, The majin pouted, clearly offput by her utter incompetency but also... intrigued...? If her attacks did this little to this guy... What could he do if he had to actually try...?
The man then seemed to... mock her...? Stating that she REALLY DID need help... Well... yeah... she did... that's why she was up here in the first place talking to this schmo. He raised his hand and summoned a small ball of energy, asking her if she knew how to do something like this... To that, the majin nodded and smiled, tucking her pipe back away behind her cape before pointing both of her hands at the man, two pink energy balls forming just before her palms.
"Ha........ah!" She growled, forcing more and more Ki into her palms, making the balls grow larger until them encompassed one another...
In a flash of radiant pink, two energy beams would shoot forth, shooting straight at the guardian of the world, a show of a general mastery of Ki she didn't expect he'd expect...

The girl abandoned her pipe, tucking it back to wherever it had come from. But the mention of ki seemed to stir some emotion and it looked as if she even recognized what he was talking about. Jie Shan arched a silvery brow as the girl raised both of her hands at Jie Shan and little balls of pink energy began to form in the palm of them. So, he thought, the girl could manipulate ki after all. It was, quite honestly, more than he was expecting, but given how she had made it up her, he ought not have been surprised at all.
Suddenly, both balls of ki shot forward, coming right at him. His mind tingled, sensing the energy and his body flooded with ki as he prepared to respond; a warrior's reflexes. As the pink orbs of power drilled towards him, Jie Shan raised a single hand, and swiped his hand in front of himself, batting both ki orbs harmlessly away and into the sky.
Jie Shan nodded to himself.
"Not bad," he said to the Majin girl, "not bad at all. Sure, you could use some work, but it looks like you've got the basics down. A little refinement, and you could be pretty decent- hell, maybe even good."
Jie Shan crossed the Lookout, moving past the girl, his stride taking him across the pure white tiles of the Lookout. He crossed to the edge and sat down, looking over it to the sky and clouds beyond, his legs crossed. Jie Shan turned a gaze back over his shoulder and looked for the Majin girl, to see if she had followed him.
"Come on over here," he said, "let's meditate for a second and talk a bit. Consider it the first step of your training, you know?"

Liari wasn't too Surprised that the guy managed to deflect her attack with a mere wave of his hand and only served to make her smile wider, another display of this man's gorgeous power... Her chest swelled with pride as she was complimented, practically glowing as she followed her new mentor to the end of the lookout. Coming from someone such as he, being told that she had potential to be "good" meant something too her... In her mind, this meant she could EASILY progress past the point she was in her original state before she was sealed, that she could be much stronger than her older sibling... OOO! SHE COULDN'T WAIT!
Liari's expression of pride turned to one of mild shock and confusion as Jie suggested that they sit upon the edge of the lookout and merely... talk... and "med-i-tate". What... This was it...? Just... sitting around...? The little majin didn't quite understand the concept of meditation and how that would help her become stronger but, considering that this guy just tossed one of her strongest attacks into the air like it was a toy, she wasn't about to object. Maybe there was some kind of secret to this... sitting-around thing...?
She sat herself down besides the stronger man, mimicking his position of crossed legs. She glanced at her mentor as he remarked that this would be the start of her training and she sighed, her disappointment as masked as she could make it... She didn't have that much patience... She wanted immediate results... But she kept quiet about it lest she anger her only source of rapid progression.
"Uhm.... So... We just... sit here...?" She asked, her hands resting on her knees. "Do... we do anything...?"

The Majin girl joined him near the edge and Jie Shan nodded before looking back out over the sky which was his domain. He sat in silence for a moment and let the girl ask her question. He tilted his head and considered it. How to explain it?
"Hmm, well," he began, "you don't necessarily have to sit still, though I find it pleasant in the context of meditation. This is more about the mind then the body, you know? But, I suppose, if you really preferred, you could stand or jog while doing it. It's about a kind of concentration- no, that's not the right word."
Jie Shan sighed.
"It's hard to explain. It's about achieving a sort of mental peace and mental awareness, though also unconsciously."
Jie Shan smiled.
"Don't worry about it, just let your mind go and kind of move it 'up', if that makes sense? If you practice it, it'll make sense in its own time."
Jie Shan paused and would let her do her own thing for a moment or two, if she so desired. Then, Jie Shan nodded to himself.
"I do this a lot," he explained, "being a warrior is equal parts physical and mental, despite what. . . some people might say."
Jie Shan nodded towards the horizon and lifted a hand towards, extending a single finger and pointing it towards the distance.
"If it helps, focus on the horizon and lose yourself in it. Kind of makes you think about how small you really are, you know?"Liari

Liari stared blankly at the divine being as he attempted to explain the purpose of this inaction. She did here every word and she tried to process what she could, but she didn't nearly get as much out of it as what went in. From what she understood, she should just... do something that is so mindless it takes away her ability to think for a bit, be it jogging or sitting like they were now, forcing her thoughts into the background so that she could tune into everything else. That... sounded... frustrating. And hard. She huffed in exasperation, giving up on trying to make sense of his instructions and just tried to follow them, shifting herself into a kneeling position, crossing her arms and closing her eyes. It was so hard to not think... Too many distractions... There was the wind blowing against her cheek, the sensation of her knees pressing against the tile. The almighty presence of a god beside her and then there was the fact that she was starting to get a little bit hungry. Ignoring all these things were extremely difficult and, suffice it to say, her progress was slow... She found her jaw was tightening with effort, her features scrunched, not at all the peace Jie had promised. He had claimed it would take practice to get better at wiping one's mind and that she'd understand then but... How was she supposed to accept that as true when it made no sense now...?
She opened one eye and looked at her current mentor as he remarked he does this all the time, that fighting was as much of a mental game as it was a physical one. THAT... she kind of understood... Punching someone hard doesn't necessarily make you a good warrior... You had to punch them in the right place... the right time... in the right way. And you had to do it better than the other guy... She knew all of this but what did sitting still have to do with anything!? Shouldn't he be teaching her how to use her mind in combat rather than out of it? How does this help anyone besides give them an excuse to nap!?
The Majin opened her other eye when Jie made his suggestion, turning her eyes off in the distance down below where the world rolled around.
"The... Horizon...?" She questioned, looking at that wall of nothingness in which the planet spilled. "O-okay... I guess..."
The little blue majin stared off over the edge of the world, just staring, wondering what would happen if she stared long enough. Would she feel afraid that she was so small, that the planet would just... suck her up and she'd be gone? Would he have a moment of clarity where everything made sense? Would nothing happen at all?
Eventually, these thoughts were silenced by a growing pulsing in her head, her pulse, as her stare became more solidified at that one point at the edge of the world. No longer did her eyes mimic her mind and wander. Everything seemed still while everything else came alive... It was... strange... The distractions became more pronounced and yet it didn't break her from her trance... Liari felt the wind's caressing become a kiss, the slight ache in her knee-caps as they pressed against the hard tile, she was aware of the big blue dome above them that made up the sky... Not a single thought accompanied her observations... It was like... they were just known and had no excess baggage.
They just were.
The pulse in her mind grew more pronounced, a state of thought... contemplation. Not about anything, not contained to any topic.

Jie Shan stared at the horizon on his own, all the while letting the girl figure things out for herself. It was his little moment of peace in this strange scenario that had delivered itself upon him. He cocked his head ever so slightly and looked at the Majin girl. What an odd duck, he thought, certainly not the sort that he expected to turn up on the Lookout. However, he would not turn her away. No, she seemed an alright sort, and if she wanted to come by the Lookout that was alright with him.
Though, it did take him aback; he had forgotten how popular this little Lookout of his was. His first visitor was something unusual, and certainly one he would remember. Though, he supposed that she was only the beginning. Part of his duties, he realized, was training prospective warriors like this. How many more of her sort would the hybrid Kami get? Did the other Kamis experience this sort of thing? It was hard to say; Jie Shan barely knew anything of the other ones, save for Arion whom he briefly met the one time. Galen, constant companion that he was, was the best guide that Jie Shan had in this ethereal realm.
Jie Shan suddenly broke the silence.
“Kind of humbling, ain’t it?” asked Jie Shan aloud, “I find myself doing this sort of thing pretty often. Helps keep you centered, you know?”
Jie Shan gave a tiny smile.
“If you’re serious about this training thing,” he continued, more serious, “I want you to practice this. It might not seem important now, but I think in the long run, it’ll help you grow.”
Jie Shan nodded to himself.
“And by the way,” he added, “I’m Jie Shan. I thought I ought to introduce myself.” Liari

Liari snapped out of her state of pure, undirected thought with the sound of god's voice, noting how he did this all the time, how it helped keep him centered. Yeah... she could see why he'd need to up here... With so little contact with anyone and nothing to do, there was no wonder why he'd need to do this little mind-dump of his every once in a while. You know... to vent all that frustration and boredom... She had to admit though, it was a nice feeling... It really was and she wasn't thinking this sarcastically. This man had opened her up to an idea that she had LONG denounced as a waste of time, an excuse to just sit there and zone out while she didn't truly understand it's purpose... It wasn't easy to get Liari to admit she was wrong here but.... Maybe she was in this case.
"It feels nice..." She agreed, nodding her head lightly. Jie then mentioned that if she was serious with her training, that she'd have to keep at this technique, practice it for a while. It'd help her in the long run, he said and the little Majin smiled and nodded. She believed that... If she could get a moment alone for a few seconds without people calling her out or running into stragglers, maybe she'd find a nice spot atop a canyon and just sit there like she was now... She'd just HAVE to incorporate this into her routine... Maybe she'd teach Laezi these things.
"I think you're right..." She sighed, opening her eyes and turning to the god of earth with a smile on her face. "Thank you for teaching me."
Upon hearing god's true name, The majin's eyes widened with how... Common it was... But then her expression of surprise warmed into a grin. She liked this guy... She'd have to come visit him more...
