It was a lazy day for Celerous. He stood in the backyard of his newly christened Fark Villa, lounging on the deck near the pool, staring at the base of Mount Paozu. The two story villa (with two sublevels) was all he ever wanted. The plot of land he settled on was surrounded by hedges seven feet in height, and they ran along the entirety of the border, only ending at the clay gatehouse (with an iron gate) that opened up to a stone walkway that circled a fountain. All in all, it was a very private spot, the back deck and pool even more so.
Celerous had been thinking about throwing some kind of party at his place, but truth be told, he hadn’t made very many friends aside from Liari and Galen. He didn’t think Plasma and Ebihan counted, as he’d only been around the two of them for about ten minutes. Celerous wasn’t super eager to see the bio-android again anyways. He’d probably welcome Ebihan into his villa though. That guy seemed to have a decent head on his shoulders.
Celerous yawned, feeling a little weary, but not quite content to sleep just yet. He was expecting Liari to show up sometime today, though when she was going to arrive he wasn’t sure of. They were supposed to do a little training, but Celerous had a feeling it would benefit her more than him. As no one had seen the house yet, he figured his first guest ought to be the person he knew the best, excluding his family. Or well, had known the longest. Truth be told, he didn’t know a damn thing about Liari, but he enjoyed the little Majin’s company nonetheless. Her cockiness and apparent disgust at others bothered him a little, but he supposed no one was truly perfect.
Celerous knew that he certainly wasn’t.
Standing from his chair with a groan, the hybrid began to stretch a little. If Liari was gonna be a while, he might as well start training on his own.
Liari had gotten the little invite from Celerous through means she wouldn't bother to recount, though suffice it to say it was... uh... a doozy. She needed not directions as she had memorized the power of this man, having spent a bit of time with him and a few other freaks as well as solved a crime-case together. The little invitation he extended to her was for some training and at first, she was just going to decline... She didn't really WANT to go out of her way to train with him... It wasn't like they really WERE friends or anything. After all, The guy didn't even take her out to dinner yet! Or was that for "dates?" Nah... dates were things on calendars...
On the other hand... the guy was nice enough that she didn't out-right hate him and he DID know how to cook... she remembered the smell of the deer he was cooking... SO maybe he had food prepared for her and that... along with the promise of strength was good enough for her! And so she set off not long after she got the invitation, shooting off in her weighted clothing in the direction of the guy's power. Even in her weights, her travel-speed was greatly increased, MUCH faster than when Celerous encountered her before.
She'd land before the front door to his villa with a loud thud, falling heavily out of her flight, though on her feet, much to her relief... She didn't need to embarrass herself again in front of this guy... Walking up to the front door, Liari raised the back of her hand just in front of the door and lightly rapped it with her knuckles, somewhat certain that's how one got the attention of others inside their own homes... In the meantime while waiting for the guy to come answer, she gazed around the villa, surprised that THIS was where this guy was spending his time.... After all... who NEEDS a space this big...?
Finishing up the last of his stretches, Celerous let out a contented sigh. He looked out on the view from his back patio, drinking it in. The bright blue sky, with a few wispy clouds, was beautiful weather. Mount Paozu standing in the distance felt oddly comforting to Celerous; it made him feel safe. As if the mountain itself could stop any invaders his home might attract. He gave a slight chuckle at the thought. More than likely, Celerous would have an easier time of dealing with thugs and vermin than that mountain would. Still, it was very pretty, and Celerous knew without a doubt that he'd picked the perfect plot of land to place his villa down on. With a contented hum, the hybrid turned around, and made for the interior of his home.
Celerous entered his villa from one of the two back doors on the patio. It slid open, revealing the back of the base of the staircase, and he walked around it and into his foyer. His sound his boots made echoed off of the off white walls, sounding like sharp clicks on the tile below him. He moved to reach out at the portrait of his father, which hung on the far wall, when he heard a thumping resound through out the room. His eyes immediately leveled at the door. Liari must have finally arrived.
He turned and headed for the double doors. Grasping an iron door handle in either hand, he pulled the heavy iron doors back towards him, swinging them open. Celerous was met with a slight breeze, and the sight of a small blue Majin on his doorstep.
He raised a single hand in greeting, "Yo. Come on in."
He turned his body to the side, and gestured towards the large foyer with the arm he'd waved at Liari.
It wasn't long after the little blue majin knocked did the massive iron doors swing open, revealing her host who greeted her with a simple "yo". Ah Celerous... As tall as he was imposingly powerful the guy towered over her as usual in both energy and physical height. Funny... He didn't look all that much different nor did his power increase all that much if at all... Still, she nodded her head silently in something of a greeting before heading inside, her jaw dropping somewhat as she observed the massive space that was his foyer.
"W-wow..." She murmered, taking in how large this one space was. "This place is big..."
If this was just one room... she wanted to see the place they were gonna train in.. Surely it would be MUCH bigger than this... The small blue majin imagined a massive outside-like place, constructed soley for the art of combat. It would be harder to move there... the force, gra-vi-ty would be multiplied several times making it a rough dangerous and straining place... just the way she would like it... These weights were already painful enough to move in, distracting on her best day but a room where she'd fight under difficult and possibly dangerous stress!? It made her eyes sparkle with the possibilities.
"Well?" She asked, casting her silver gaze up at her host. "Where are we fighting?"
Liari came in after offering a simple nod. Not much of a greeting really, but Celerous had a feeling that the little blue Majin didn’t often greet people *at all*. With a slight shake of his head, he closed the door behind her, and turned to face the back wall of his foyer. He heard Liari’s gasp, and he allowed himself a small smile. Celerous wasn’t usually one for bragging or showing off his wealth (he had grown up with little money), but he felt his chest swell with pride nonetheless.
“Yeah,” Celerous said, walking to stand beside her, “a little too big, really. But I got this place for a good deal, and I’m more than happy with my purchase.”
Liari asked about where they’d be training, and Celerous moved to the painting of his father on the far wall. He pressed a button on the bottom of the frame, and the section of the wall that the painting hung from moved away from him, and slid behind the rest of the large foyer wall that remained. The new open space revealed a spacious elevator, one that could easily fit ten people with space to spare, made of glass and iron.
“It’s nothing fancy,” Celerous said to Liari as the glass door hissed open, allowing him to enter the lift, “just a very large and spacious room with padded walls and floors. We’ll have plenty of room to move, and even enough to fly around a little bit. It should be more than sufficient for a fight or two.”
He waited patiently, expecting Liari to enter the elevator and stand next to him. Once she did, he would press the bottommost button on the small panel on the left of the door, so that they might descend down to the second sub level of his villa.
"'Per-chase...?'" Liari questioned, looking up at him confused. "You mean buy?" She looked around once more, crossing her arms. Yeah... If she had any kind of money or any comprehension of how much a place like this would be worth, she too would happy with this... villa. It was so big that she could fly around happily with little (or rather less) risk she'd smash into something, isolated enough that she wouldn't have to worry about people coming to haunt her with "neighborly activities" like parties and meet-and-greets. She could be in any part of this place and completely ignore whoever was at the door whenever she wanted! Her eyes sparkled with envy. She wanted this house...
Still, when Liari pushed forward with her purpose for even being here, Celerous ran his hand along the bottom of some nearby painting... to have that entire section of the house get an entire section of the wall to get folded up into where, the majin couldn't say or see... Only the fancy elevator that apparently lead downwards. The bigger man claimed that there was nothing "fancy" down there, just some big padded room with enough space for them to use all their power. Even if that were true, Liari marveled at the glass elevator before her, wondering what other little secrets this place had....
She must've been staring for some time because when she snapped out of it, she saw that Celerous was already inside, waiting for her to get in so they could get on with it... Blushing a dark blue in embarrassment Liari slipped inside the elevator besides the sayan/human, glancing up at him for a moment before looking down. Quiet.
“Yeah, ‘purchase’ is just another word for ‘buy.’”
Liari strode into the elevator, albiet a bit more delayed that he’d expected, and Celerous pushed in the button with his finger. There was a brief moment of silence, before the door slid shut with a hiss. The elevator hummed momentarily, and with a series of mechanical clicks, the pulley attached to the elevator began to lower them down. They passed the first sublevel, and for two seconds, Celerous could see all of his wine barrels beyond the glass door. Alas, the elevator continued to descend, and the sight of his useless alcohol was robbed from him. Not that he truly minded. He didn’t buy the place for all the wine.
The lift finally reached the bottom of the elevator shaft, and the glass doors slid open. Before the Majin and the hybrid was a humongous room with metal floors and walls, covered in thick blue padding for protection. With a contented smile, Celerous walked out in front of the Majin, and turned around. He continued to walk backwards as he gestured to the room he intended for them to train in.
“It’s not at all fancy. Doesn’t have any sophisticated technology to help us train, but it’s large and spacious, and I think that should be enough for the two of us.”
He leapt (more like flew) to the far end of the room, and landed, facing Liari the whole time.
“I’m sorry that I’m not a more gracious host, but I kinda just wanna get into it. So, just like-”
He paused for a moment, stumbling over his words in a way he hadn’t done before.
“Basically, I just want you to punch me in the face. Or try, at least.”
He lowered himself into a practiced, but flawed, fighting stance.
The ride down was quiet indeed, the little majin doing her best not to look up at her host lest she spark her embarassment once again. Liari crossed her arms in a way that was adorable for someone her size, similar to a way a child might react to her parent making her dress in something she didn't like: Her stance was ridged, her head was turned slightly in the other direction, her eyes taking her vision as far from Celerous as they could... Her cheeks were puffed out somewhat, a clear sign of her frustration and embarassment, her cheeks and where her nose would be were splashed with her blueish blush in such an adorable way...
She was so far inside her own head the little majin missed the sights going down, simply thinking about what she was going to do when fighting this guy... She knew she couldn't win... her power was at least a third of this guy's... The best she could hope for was getting in a few good hits and, if she could... she'd be satisfied...
Eventually the two of them would reach the bottom floor and, sadly... it was just like he said... the room was LARGE to be sure, surely big enough for anyone of their level with padded walls and floors to cushion falls and tosses but sadly there were no obsticales to avoid... the place was exactly as empty as he described...
Celerous commented that he just wanted to get started, apologizing for not being the best host before flying on over to the other side of the room, lowering himself into a stance.
"That's fine..." Liari responded, pulling a long, strong pipe out from behind her front of her, cocking it behind her head almost like a batter might would their stick. "I wanted this anyway..."
With that the majin lunged at her sparring partner, swinging her pipe around hard at Celerous' temple as soon as he got in range...
Liari didn't seem immediately impressed with the new space, but Celerous didn't let it bother him. It was, after all, just a giant room underground. Besides, he had other things to worry about, like having a good spar. He asked Liari to punch him in the face, but was very surprised when she came at him with a fucking pipe. Where the hell did she get a broken pipe, and where was she hiding it? Who... who used a pipe as a weapon?
Celerous decided that he'd ask those questions later, and quickly ripped his sword from its sheathe. As Liari finally closed in, and swung her makeshift weapon at his face, the hybrid brought his weapon up to block the intended bludgeoning, and met her pipe with the flat of his blade. The clash of metal rung out through the air, and Celerous took a small leap backwards. Her blow had been quite easy to block, and it wasn't just because he had a large advantage in power over her. The Majin had telegraphed her swing as she ran all the way across the room.
"A little bit of advice: don't let your opponent know how you're gonna attack, until the second before you actually intend to hit him. You came charging at me across the room with that pipe cocked back behind you. I'd have to be pretty dumb to not know what you were gonna hit me with."
With that, Celerous dashed forward, quickly closing the distance between him and Liari. As he did, he brought his sword to his side in both hands, purposely telegraphing his intended sword stroke in the same way she had with her pipe. But once he had closed the distance between them, his left hand quickly left the bottom of his sword, and instead he used it to throw a punch at the blue Majin's gut.
Whether or not it hit, Celerous would then stand to his full height, and gesture to his blade.
"You see what I mean? The whole time I was planning to punch you, but I didn't want you to know that, so instead I feigned a sword swing. You don't have to do something tricky like that, just don't charge with your hand held back to punch someone. They'll catch it. Don't even show that you're going to throw the blow until the last possible second."

Liari "tsk"ed as her pipe struck a different target, a sword that had somehow gotten between her and her target. The clashing of metal could likely be heard for miles were it not for the immense padding in the surrounding room. In fact, she could feel the ground beneath her squish and contort as Celerous retreated, a sensation that was... distracting to say the least... And speaking of distracting, the man decided he'd teach her a thing or two instead of just... you know... fighting her as he had promised, advising her to be "less obvious" and stop "telegraphing her attacks" so much, whatever that meant. Still, she could pick up on that slightly sympathetic, forceful tone teachers always used to grind information into the stupid and it made the young majin blush in embarrassment... Liari said nothing and only raised her pipe in front of her defensively now that the man decided to take the offense.
The man attacked, seemingly readying his blade but, much like how he informed her not to do, Celerous gave himself away... It was obvious that he wasn't going through with that strike... How could she tell? Because she wasn't stupid and knew that he was getting too close to use that weapon effectively. At this range, he could punch all he wanted but the best he could do with his blade was pummel her with the pommel... No... He wasn't that dumb... this was a trick!
Celerous' uppercut was met with Liari's opposite palm, surprisingly firmly catching and stopping his attempted surprise attack. The majin grinned, not letting him go quite yet... Her jaw dropped, revealing a small pink energy ball seemingly at the end of her throat where it met her mouth...
"Blaaaaah!" She spat as the energy blast erupted out from her mouth, a beam that shot right at the man's face in retaliation.
If Celerous chose to continue with his little shpeal, hit or not, Liari would smirk, resting her pipe on her shoulder before flipping her pointer finger at him, obviously very cocky after stopping one of his attacks.
"Bring it on!" She commanded before raising her pipe back in front of her. Ready.
Celerous was pleasantly surprised that when his punch met Liari’s fist instead of her gut. It seemed he had underestimated the small Majin. He was sure the quick switch to a punch would throw her off, enough for him to actually land the blow on her. But she caught on to things (at least fighting things) far more quickly than Celerous had anticipated. It looked like he was going to have to pick up the tempo a bit.
“Not bad, but I can move faste-”
Liari’s mouth opened, and Celerous’s eyes widened just a bit. He knew what was coming. He’d expected a counter attack, but from her other fist or one of her two legs, not from her small blue maw! Well, he supposed it wasn’t quite small anymore. In fact, she’d opened her mouth up far wider than any human could. But he’d save that observation for later.
The ball of ki swelled within her mouth, and Celerous knew he had less than a second and a half to react. He ripped his fist from Liari’s grasp, and brought his palm up to level at Liari’s head. A small yellow Ki blast swelled before it, and he let it fire right at Liari’s own blast! That would teach her to fire attack from her face.
As their blasts collided, Celerous took a step back and raised both of his hands out in front of him. Letting out his signature move at point blank might have been a bit overkill against anyone else, but Majin’s were known for their durability. She certainly wouldn’t be able to avoid it, not completely, but she could live through the damage it would do to her malleable body.
“Flare Fire!”
A bright red wave of Ki issues forth from his hands. Celerous waited and wondered what Liari would do to counter his red beam. Would she try and negate some of the pain by dodging? Would she block it head on? Or would she dare to counter his move with a blast of her own?

Liari's eyes widened in shock as Celerous reacted quickly, ripping his fist from her grip then extending it in the form of an open palm and blasting practically down her throat with his own energy blast. His own yellow blast pushed her own back down, forcing her to intake his energy and her own AND the explosion that happened within her... Her mouth shut and her eyes nearly bulged out of their sockets as her body suddenly expanded almost into a balloon-like shape, steam exploding out from between her lips and the holes on her arms, her form slowly withering back to her vague general shape though she was notably more crumpled... almost like a piece of paper stretched to it's very limits before being let go into a dull, wrinkled mess...
"That... hurt..." She coughed, a little bit of steam escaping her lips her eyes once again widening as they were soon faced with ANOTHER energy blast, practically RIGHT UP THERE in her face... "OH N-"
She didn't have time to say anything more... Acting fast, Liari quickly crouched low, her color and solid shape returning fast. The red energy wave would pass right over her head the sheer power of the wave nipping at her hair-tentacles as if they wanted to eat them alive. Yelping, Liari sprung into the air, taking to the skies before pointing her hands down at him, her pink ki-aura flaring into a pair of energy-balls in the center of her palms.
"Lonliness..." Liari growled, deciding she'd humor this guy by taking a page out of his book. "CANNON!" Suddenly, the two energy balls formed into beams and shot down at Celerous like twin pillars of destruction. Together, they didn't much compare to the guy's afore announced "flare-fire" but she had to keep pace with him somehow... PL: 7514 Stam: 2/3 Dodge PL: 7514 vs 4722 DODGED Lonliness Cannon: 1878
Celerous had to admit it, though not verbally, but he’d just been outplayed. He was sure that there was no way that Liari could react quickly enough to avoid his Flare Fire. But lo and behold, she’d manage to impress him again. She had simply ducked below the beam itself, something Celerous had never anticipated she would do. Hell, it was something that he would never think to do himself.
He shook his head at his own miscalculation. She seemed to be teaching him just as much as he was teaching her. Celerous may have had some proper training in combat, but Liari clearly trumped him when it came to strategizing on the fly. As he watched the small blue Majin take to the sky, and charge her own Ki blast, he was sure: were it not for their difference in power, he’d be done for right here.
But it seemed he was lucky, if only this one time. Celerous knew he could dodge this attack with room to spare. In fact, it would be the smart thing to do. Afterwards, he would easily be able to throw a blow of his own. But his Saiyan blood wouldn't let him. It told him not to flip away from the attack, like he normally would have done. Instead, Celerous held his hands out in front of himself once more.
The hair on his arms stuck up. He felt the familiar feeling of Ki rushing through his arms and into his hands. The red ball of energy formed in his palms once more. Liari’s attack rushed to hit him head on, and Celerous wondered how it would hold up to his Flare Fire. He was a little winded from firing the last one, but he was pretty sure he could beat her in a beam struggle.
He waited until her beams were but inches from his hands, before he yelled it out: “Flare Fire!”
The red beam burst from his hands once more, slowly pushing Liari’s own dual waves away from him.

The Majin's blast encountered heavy resistance, more than she expected upon striking someone like Celerous (though secretly she was surprised to have hit him at all). Maybe he was... pushing it back or something...? And RIGHT THEN, as if the kais and demons colaborated to jinx her royally, she saw the red glow that shoved back her pink energy and the declaration of an attack all-too familiar... HE WAS pushing it back with his own energy-wave! The Majin pushed back for all it was worth, keeping her supply of Ki constant and flowing but it didn't do any good that she could tell... Whatever Celerous was pumping out completely ignored her efforts as if they weren't there and steadily crept up to her...
Until she was consumed by it...
The Red energywave washed over her, tearing at the Majin's body brutally like a passing school of pirana... Pieces of her seared and burned in it's evil light, Liari letting out a pained scream as she was sent smashing into the ceiling along with his energy-wave... There, she hung, pinned to the top, her vision blurred by the agony inflicted upon her...
"O-ow..." She whispered, ripping an arm free... then another... before letting out a loud yell, her ki exploding all around her which forced back all the cushions that kept her pinned. Slowly, she lowered herself to the padded ground once again, her wounds fading from sight as her body attempted to repair the damage... Attempt meaning while they could heal the burns, her chest was still rising and falling heavily, her stance slightly off-center, exhaustion obvious... That attack... that Flare-Fire literally BURNED through her power like it was nothing but tissue paper and somehow, she suspected that the sayain wasn't using ANY of his real power...
And that excited her...
"Y-you're so strong..." Liari murmured, her eyes glowing with excitement.
PL: 7514 (Light weights) Took that damage from the beam struggle Stam 3/3
Celerous could feel Liari pushing against his Flare Fire with all her strength, but he knew it would be of no avail. He simply had too much power; at least, compared to the little blue Majin. It wasn’t long before his red energy completely dissipated the pink energy it was clashing with, and then Liari was caught in the blast, and he heard her pained scream. The flow of energy faded out of existent, and Celerous got a good look at what his power had done to Liari. The poor Majin looked like melted bubblegum, stuck up on the padded ceiling of the spacious training room.
She let out a shout, and her aura burst from her being. For half a second, Celerous clenched up, expecting an attack in retaliation. He let out a sigh of relief, however, when it became obvious that Liari had no intention of striking back this time. Whatever she might have thrown at him, Celerous was sure it would have hit. The two successive Flare Fires had left him quite drained, evident by the way his breath left his lungs in labored pants. There would have been no chance of him being able to avoid an incoming attack, and Celerous thanked Kami that he didn’t have to.
Liari slowly lowered herself to the ground, and Celerous could see that she was just as exhausted as he was, and quite a bit more injured to boot. Her chest heaved rapidly, and her malleable body was still in the process of repairing itself. Even the stance she held was off-kilter.
“Don’t… don’t sell yourself short,” Celerous huffed, “you’re smarter than I gave you credit for. If we were equal in power, that little bout would have ended in your favor instead of mine.”
Celerous sucked one last big gulp of air into his lungs, before releasing it. His panting ceased.
“You adapt quickly. That’s something even the greatest fighters in the universe sometimes have trouble with. I know I do. I would have never thought to just duck under an energy wave like that." Weighted Power Level: 18889 Stamina: 2/3
