It had been another casual day on the Planet Earth, Athren had awoken from his sleep with quite a proud and confident attitude. He had already known exactly what he had wished to do with his day and it was quite a simple idea. He had wanted to take his Nova Storm technique and push it above and beyond it's limits, he wanted to create something much more devastating and much quicker to pull off. He didn't want to swipe his hand across the landscape, no. He wants to simply raise a finger and watch the fireworks below blow up. His idea for this technique was inspired by countless of battles in his childhood. It had been the perfect technique to wipe out a location or a large amount of enemy forces that occupied a relatively medium sized area. There wasn't anything in his lifetime that he had seen more effective for that precise task, surely he'd find a use for it in the future. Whether he decided to wipe out a city or go up again an army, he'd find plenty of uses for it. It had all been a matter of how at this point, how would one find a way to execute it properly? Athren knew how to make a chain of smaller explosive waves but how would he make it a large one that could be summoned upon command? Athren thought about this for a moment or two before getting himself out of bed. It was quite an easy task to be honest. All he had to do was focus all that energy upon one single spot instead of focusing it in a row and BOOM. It'd be a large explosive wave where ever he demanded it. The thing about this was, Athren knew that the enemies could not see it coming, there was little time to react once it was triggered and anybody too slow would get destroyed by the massive attack. The thought of this had brought a faint smile to the young warriors face. He visualized it, countless enemies dressed in Planet Trade Organization armour getting vaporized by his attack, all of them screaming in fear as they realized they couldn't avoid it. It was a beautiful though indeed. Of course, he needed to learn it to make it a reality. With that being in his mind, Athren didn't want to waste any more time. He had gotten himself geared up with his scouter, his heavy weighted gear and headed out the exit of his ship.
It didn't take long for Athren to reach his ideal positioning, he hadn't been to far away from his ship and he was airborne. The simply reason for this was for him to pick out locations around him and test his new passion for the technique in mind. He'd be at a vantage point to see the damage it would do and when and how to change any of his methods of delivering the payload. To begin, Athren closed his right fist tightly and began to charge his energy into it. It began to glow his signature orange colour, as it began to do so Athren smirked. He was looking forward to the light show that it was about to produce. Surely, it'd be something incredible. He continued to charge his energy into his hand for about a minute, it was at that point he was ready to unleash it. Though the time he took wasn't effective enough in combat, he'd work on that once he got the basic launch of his technique down. He had firmly believed in taking his time and doing a step by step procedure to insure that when the time came to use it, it wouldn't fail him and leaving him stranded or looking like a fool. He was a saiyan after all, he couldn't accept either of those. Failure simply was not an option. It never would be.
Finally the young saiyan prince had decided to raise two of his fingers, this was his pointer finger and his middle finger and once he did the area on the green landscape below sparked a tiny white dot before exploding into a beautiful, large, orange explosive wave technique that completely lit up the landscape. Upon succeeding, Athren couldn't help but smile. Surely his comrades in his ship would come check on what was going on, it wasn't quiet by no means. It had been extremely loud plus Athren wasn't far from his ship. He assumed it would be enough to spark their attention. With his first attempt being a success at the cost of a risky time frame of charging, Athren lowered his fingers and made a fist once again. It was in that moment that he was again began to repeat the process he just did. He wanted to charge up energy once more but this time cut back on the time required to unleash a massive payload. Of course he would not expect it to be reduced within just a few tries, if Athren needed too he would spend a majority of his day doing this. If it came to that, so be it. He wouldn't stop until this variant of his technique was completed and effective. It would be pointless to have an attack that took an eternity to charge. This time instead of giving it a minute Athren gave it about forty five seconds or so, once he had felt that was enough time he once again sprung his two fingers up and let off another one of his Nova Eruption techniques. Once again the explosive wave was detonated flawlessly, it was a very simply technique to learn and Athren wasn't having any issues with it. The creator that Athren's first attack had made grew even bigger this time. He had kept it to that single spot to insure that the landscape didn't get that badly damaged. Out of his time on Earth, he had grown accustom to the beautiful green landscape. He didn't want to ruin that with pointless scars of battle that hadn't been earned. Komatsu had taken the day off of training within the gravity chamber to instead train at an easier pace at Earth's regular gravity. He currently found himself within the bamboo forest, his hands placed together as if he was praying. His eyes were closed as he focused as much ki as he could muster into his upcoming attack.
"The basic version of mom's technique is a quick attack... she showed me this version before... I know I can do it too..." The young saiyan would mutter to himself as his hands began to glow red with energy. At first, two separate balls of energy were created in each hand, smoke coming from Komatsu's feet as he attempted to ignite the same orbs of energy there. It was difficult for him to try and concentrate the two extra points of energy while maintaining the one's in his fists. on several occasions his attack had ended up just blowing up in his face, getting him absolutely no where. This time however... he felt it... he felt like he could actually succeed this time.
Slowly, the two orbs would begin to form , the energy shaking as it attempted to stabilize. He was almost certain that they would blow up in his face once more, but pushed himself to the limit anyways. Soon, the energy stopped shaking and he could see the two orbs radiating from his feet. Komatsu couldn't help but grin at his success, suppressing the urge to cry out as if he had just achieved some great victory! However, his success was short lived as a blinding white light suddenly appeared all around him, exploding in a brilliant display of light.
The advanced atomic strike he had been working so hard to build suddenly exploded in his face, sending his hurling backwards into the blast created by Athren, then flying forward once more as it too, exploded brilliantly. He couldn't help but curse loudly as the explosion seared through his armor and torched at his exposed skin. Who the hell was out here blasting the place to all hell!?
When Komatsu finally stopped being tossed around, he soared up high into the sky to avoid any further explosions. His ki would flare up around him violently before being drawn into his body once more. Any visible wounds on his face or arms would slowly begin to disappear as he healed himself.
"What the hell was that..." He growled as he scanned the area, his eyes finally landing on Athren who wasn't that far off away from where he had been training. He raised an eyebrow at the older saiyan, waiting until he was sure Athren noticed him before flying over to the prince.
"Was that you? That hurt like hell, that was awesome." He complimented as he rubbed his sore shoulder.

Athren had began to charge up his energy into his fist once again, his ocean blue eyes began to scan his surroundings as his scouter beeped. It indicated that there was somebody near the blast radius. It claimed that they were so close to the explosion that they most likely would have been caught up in it. Damn shame, huh? People just couldn't get out of his way when he needed to train and it was getting to the point where it was getting annoying, regardless. Athren didn't find a need to stop until his eyes hand landed upon the figure. He made out the approaching warrior instantly, he had quite the tiny figure compared to most and wild, reckless hair that was almost as long as he was tall. "Seriously Koma..?" Athren mumbled to himself as he shook his head. It wasn't due to Koma interfering but more along the lines of him getting caught up in the blast. ~ You could've been killed kid, Pay more attention to your surroundings next time! I wouldn't want to accidentally kill you while I train, that'd be a damn mess.~ Athren thought to himself as the kid continued to approach. It didn't take much longer but Koma had finally been at Athren's side. It was clear as day that he got himself caught up in the blast of Athren's technique. It had been then that the kid complimented the attack and how it had hurt, Athren couldn't help but smirk as he turned his attention back to the creator he had formed. He continued to charge the energy into his fist."Well Kid, It wouldn't have hurt if you weren't in the way." Athren stated firmly, he wanted to be tough on Koma for his own good. Sure, if a softer attitude was necessary it would be there but he'd rather avoid sentimental crap. That wasn't exactly Athren's forte, plus it made him quite uncomfortable. He believed that a saiyan should never be soft, yet he couldn't help but apply softness to certain situations. It was quite ironic. After his comment Athren had quickly thrown out another statement regarding Koma's. "It's called Nova Eruption, It's going to be ideal for wiping out locations or a large number of enemies. It'll work against a single opponent too but I think that would just be a little bit over kill." Athren paused for a moment as he lifted up his two fingers again. He had begun to tell this kid the technique name and it's purpose for a reason, though it had seemed irrelevant Athren thought it was very important to keep an open line of communication. Athren didn't want Koma to think he wasn't welcomed around the prince, he wanted him to feel as if he were at home. Though Athren couldn't hold in being a smart ass at times, he generally cared about the brat.
Once his fingers were sprung up to their maximum, Athren's Nova Eruption technique once again lit up the area. The creator had continued to get bigger and bigger. As the orange explosive wave grew large and began to vanish a huge gust of wind rifled against his body and ruffled his hair around violently. A large cloud of dust had formed as well but the two had been high enough for it to blow right underneath them. Being curious as to why Koma had been outside Athren decided to ask into it. If the brat didn't wish to discuss it Athren wouldn't push any questions further. "So kid, What the hell are you doing out here anyway? You're lucky that blast didn't make direct contact with you. You probably wouldn't be alive if it did." With that being said Athren went silent once more, he was going to let Koma talk his part. He was careful not to talk over him, he wanted the kid to feel as if he were respected, which he was. Though once the kid spoke his part, Athren would have much to add. He wanted to inform him of the plans and how the saiyan known as Nasu had decided to drop in and do some recruiting. He wanted to see if the pre-teen was interested in joining the fight and tagging along. Athren had figure Onio would be so he wasn't going to get all formal with him. Given the age, he'd assume Koma might need some additional motivation to go. Now that Athren had gone silent he continued to charge energy into his fist again, he was going to rinse and repeat it time and time again until it was smooth, fluent and effective. He didn't want any delay. He wanted it to come out into play on demand. Every second counted in a huge fight and he wouldn't let a short period of time be the deciding factor in whether he were to live or die.
Athren had also been hoping Komatsu had something up his sleeve, if he had said yes and decided to tag along Athren didn't want him going in blind. He'd want him to be semi prepared and have some kind of manoeuvre or trick to get himself out of trouble because Athren knew damn well that if he didn't, the ace up his sleeve was going to be himself and if he was too busy or occupied with fighting somebody, that ace might be hard to slip into the field. There were going to be a lot of factors at play if the kid did accompany the group and for Athren it wouldn't just be about destroying the home of the fighters that beat up Nasu, it'd be about doing that and getting the kid back to the ship in one peace. He truly didn't want Koma to suffer over their decisions, it'd be a damn shame if the brat ended up killed or hurt. ~I suppose I'll just tell him of all the risks... That way, He'll be knowing what he gets into. Though.. I don't know if he can take the heat.~ Athren thought that to himself, there were going to be quite a few big players at this fight.. or so he assumed. It would be risky, for all of them. "I might of been on the edge of your blast radius then... or my Rail gun might have thrown me far enough back to get out of the dead zone." Komatsu stated with an 'almost' innocent smirk on his face. Truth be told, he probably would have been smack in the middle of his attack if it hadn't set off all the energy he had built up for his Rail Gun. Sure it had ruined his concentration and his own attempt to learn a new technique, but he didn't mind too much now that he knew it had been Athren, and not someone else out to kill him. He could always push himself later to learn the Advanced Rail Gun, it's not as if there was an immediate need for it.
When Athren asked him what he was doing, his smirk widened as he rubbed the back of his neck, flying back slightly so that he wasn't in Athren's way as he continued to set off his attack.
"I was actually trying to advance an old technique my mother taught me. I've been in the gravity chamber so much I thought coming out to get some fresh air would be better. If I could perfect the technique out here, then it would still prove to be a challenge under 30x gravity which might make my training more intense there... The Rail Gun definitely isn't as impressive as this though... this is incredible. You could raise a whole city with the flick of a finger..." Komatsu stated, clearly very impressed with the attack. As the smoke billowed down below them, Koma couldn't help but feel inspired to master his own technique, and possibly even learn better techniques, like this one. He had so much to learn as he grew stronger, he couldn't see the finish line to his growth yet.

Athren listened closely to what the kid said, it sounded like the kid was quite lucky that he didn't get caught in the blast. Surely a few feet differences in distance and Koma would've been completely wiped from existence. The eldest of the two saiyans had hoped Koma would be that lucky in the days to come if he had chosen to tag along for the mission, if he had that kind of luck on his side he just might scrape through the battle with minor injuries. That was the Athren's hopes anyway, if it didn't go as planned Athren wouldn't necessarily be shocked. He was quite impressed that the kid was working on his own techniques though, it was a sure sign he was actually trying to become a true warrior and have options. Athren strongly believed that having plenty of options in battle gave a person an edge, if one knew more combat techniques than the other they had a variety of ways to attack their opponent and they could remain fairly unpredictable. Athren had noticed the smirk on the kids face, it was 'almost' innocent. Though it was a scary situation the kid didn't seem phased by it, he nearly lost his life in an accidental matter and he brushed it off like it didn't happen. It was impressive, it was showing that he was forming the mentality of a true warrior. This was good, especially at such a young age. Athren had high hopes for the brat and he saw the potential he had. If only Athren had that kind of power at that age, it was mind blowing. Athren honestly thought Koma was something special and unique, he didn't know any saiyans that young with that kind of power, even in his own day that situation didn't exist. If a saiyan had reached the power level of twenty thousand by the age of twenty they were typically ahead of the pack, yet this kid had already beat that by the young age of thirteen. ~Incredible..~ Athren thought as a slight smirk crossed his face.
Athren had listened to the next part as his smirk changed to a smile, so the kid was challenging the gravity chamber? That was even more impressive. After hearing Koma's words, Athren had thought of something appropriate to say. It was a moment in time that it seemed fitting to act as a teacher, one to guide the boy through his thoughts. "It might not be as 'impressive' as the one I just displayed but every single technique has it's own purpose. The more techniques that you know the better off you are in battle. I believe having options is good, it leaves you less predictable as the enemy might never know what's about to come their way." With that being said Athren had formed his fist again and began to charge energy once more, the orange glow of his ki overwhelming his fist once more. He then commented on the gravity portion of Koma's dialogue. "I'm impressed kid, You managed to catch up with me. I'm only at Thirty Times but I hope to clear fifty in the next few days, I'm preparing for a mission. Though, It's good that you're giving yourself a break from the gravity. Your body needs to rest as much as it's been worked in order to avoid strain." After Athren gave the boy a little bit of advice he had paused here for a moment as he unleashed his Nova Eruption technique once more at the exact same spot on the landscape. It was at this moment he turned his whole body to Koma and crossed his arms against his chest, his ocean blue eyes resting upon the boy. It was obvious that Athren was being serious. Hell, even his tone changed to fit what he was about to say. He was about to open up about the saiyan that approached him and what the plan was. "The other day a saiyan had come by to investigate the ship, I had intervened to see what he was up too. I was quite curious if he was one of the two you had mentioned tagging along with you to find me but it turns out he wasn't. His name was Nasu and he claimed to be a 'rogue saiyan." Athren paused for a moment to observe the kid for any kind of special reactions before continuing his little information rant. "It turns out that he's been having a rough time with some of the locals, apparently he's even had to fight off four of them at once." Athren smirked here with a faint chuckle as the thought of their attack plan had popped into his head. "Long story short, I may have offered him my assistance in the matter. In a few days, we plan to head to their home and wipe it out, potentially taking them out with it. That brings me to ask you this question, are you interested in tagging along? Though, it WILL be dangerous. You might not even make it back but, You're a saiyan after all. Regardless of your age, You LOVE to fight. It's in your blood." With all of this coming out and into play Athren paused, he took note on any of the kids facial expressions, his tone of voice, anything. If the answers was yes Athren would try to see if there was any hesitation or doubt. He wouldn't allow Koma to tag along unless there was ZERO hesitation. He couldn't risk taking a young fighter that wasn't prepared for the situation, that would not only put the mission at risk but the lives of all of them. He needed somebody he could rely on to stay sharp and involved in the battle, he needed somebody who could play their part and not back down. Though Athren's confidence in Koma was very high, he was still just a kid and this was a LOT to ask from such a small fighter, though Athren couldn't help but wonder.. What was his answer going to be? Word Count: 1,020 Total Word Count: 3,082

Koma had chosen to emit the fact that he was able to heal himself, at least to some degree, and that was how he had gotten out of the blast 'unscathed'. The longer he could keep that little skill a secret, the better for him. It would keep everyone guessing as to how he was constantly getting back up. Whether he was facing friend or foe, he would keep this secret for as long as he could.
"Well, I'm trying to master the techniques that I know... make them as effective as I can before I learn new one's, but even then those techniques can do a lot more than just... blow up." He explained to Athren, thinking on his Atomic Strike. Now that he had gotten pretty good at using the technique, he could use pretty much any point in his body to strike and cause a ki explosion. It was extremely versatile when it came to hand to hand combat and he could now use it like his mother had taught him to, a combo attack with his rail gun. If he could pull that skill off, it would no doubt hit his enemy every time.
However, he knew that Athren was right, while it was important for him to know many different attacks to keep himself as unpredictable as possible, it was difficult for him to give up on the attacks that his parents had taught him. Had he met Athren before he found Nasu here on Earth, then he might have tossed those techniques aside in an attempt to learn new, more powerful ones... but since his brother informed him of his parents death... he couldn't bring himself to forget those techniques... they were the only thing he had left of them.
He listened intently to all of Athren's advice, nodding every now and again as he listened, absorbing the information like a sponge and changing things in his mind accordingly. As he planned out new ways to use his techniques, or thought of new ones that he could learn, he froze up when Athren began to talk to him more seriously. He spoke of a saiyan that had come by to investigate the ship, and as Athren suspected his mind immediately went to the two soldiers he had come to Earth with. However, the name that came from Athren's lips left Komatsu dumbfounded. He didn't say anything, didn't move... didn't seem to react to anything at all as Athren spoke.
Judging by his words, he didn't know just who Nasu was in relation to him... he didn't know that he was his brother. How would he react if he knew? He had been very accepting of Koma but Nasu was a lot older and could present real competition to Athren if it came down to it... would he be as accepting?
When Athren then went on to say he had agreed to help Nasu with some sort of assault against his enemies, Koma couldn't help but scoff as he crossed his arms.
"Go figure... get's into a fight he can't handle and goes running to the strongest person he could find..." Koma grumbled as he silently began fighting himself for a decision on what to do. On one hand, he wanted to watch his brother fail... the last thing he wanted to do was fight alongside him. Who says he wasn't going to leave him behind if they lost? The only inkling of good faith he had for his brother, was the time he had come to his rescue against the pale saiyan woman and her group.
'Maybe...' He thought to himself, sighing finally as he looked up to Athren, just as seriously as he was looking down at him.
"I'll help... but not to help him." He stated clearly. He wanted to impress Athren. He wanted to make sure Athren could see him at his best and truly be impressed with the young saiyan.

Though it was odd that the young fighter came out of that blast with very minimal damage, Athren didn't really pay attention to it. He was too focused on the task at hand. There was a goal to accomplish and that was top priority. The minor damage didn't even strike Athren as a factor at the moment though if he had known about it he'd be even more impressed with the kid. That was a top skill that was unheard of in the saiyan bloodlines. In fact, Athren had never heard of a saiyan with the capabilities to heal themselves. It was unique and it would have been just another sign to show Athren that he didn't make the wrong choice by accepting this brat into his ship and his life. The kids potential was real, it was scary what he could turn into when he was fully grown, regardless. All of that was irrelevant at the moment. The kid had a secret that would benefit their cause. It was good. The kid had then briefly mentioned that his techniques did more than just blow up, this was another GOOD sign. They would need a variety of technique in the battle to come. The more diverse warrior types they had the better, they would need to work as a team and use their differences to their advantage. Combining two attacks could prove very lethal and devastating for the ones they'd face. Maybe it'd even end the fight early, though Athren had his doubts there was a slight slimmer of hope with that. The less time they spent fighting the higher the chance of survival for the whole crew. "Good, kid." Athren said as the kid mentioned the technique, though at the moment Athren didn't want to hear about it. "Don't talk about it, just show me it when the times right." With that being said Athren smiled faintly. He rarely did this before but he almost felt as if this kid was actual family. It was odd but fitting. He himself had fit the role of a big brother quite nicely, to his own surprise that is. It was clear as day when Koma had a stunned look on his face, something had triggered a crazy thought process, but what? Athren didn't know at all. There wasn't anything unusual said, or at least to Athren's knowledge. The brat then crossed his arms against his chest, hell.. he almost managed to make himself look tough. The brats next words indicated that he knew of the saiyan, this forced Athren's right eyebrow to arch slightly. Athren wanted to know more about this connection between Nasu and Koma. It was then that the kid had said he'd help but not to help Nasu. This indicated to Athren that there was some kind of feud between the two or some kind of competition, maybe a rivalry even? Hell, he could take an accurate guess but he wouldn't be right at all. Athren was completely clueless to what it could be. He'd speak up about it AFTER he spoke more of the mission, the prince had his priorities after all.
With all of this out and the open Athren began to speak up yet again, his tone still firm and full of confidence. "Alright, I figured you'd say that." With a slight pause Athren began to charge energy into his right fist once more, while they were there he figured he'd benefit from fooling around with his new technique, the more he used it the better he'd get with it after all. "As I said, it's going to be dangerous. I know few of the warriors that Nasu spoke of. One of them isn't anything special in my eyes but he had warned not to underestimate her, the other.. She's a unique case. I believe she'll be the toughest of challenges.. though.." Athren paused here for a moment again, he wanted to get into the Oozaru discussion. He didn't know if Koma could control it or not. Though, if he could he'd have one up on the prince himself. "We're doing the attack under the light of the next full moon. I don't know about you, but I cannot control the transformations due to having my time taken up with other practices. Regardless, I'll keep my eyes off the moon and try to stay on my two feet that way. I'm sure Nasu will be their main target, that gives me opportunities to strike them when their attentions are diverted." With Athren giving the kid a very low key warning about his Oozaru issues, Athren also informed him of his plan on the solution. With that all out now Athren moved onto the topic that was all so intriguing.
With the energy now charged into his hand and his hand glowing that fierce orange once more, Athren lifted his two fingers to unleash yet another Nova Eruption technique on the innocent landscape of the planet Earth. It amused Athren, he was leaving his own permanent mark on the Earth, it was a scar that would most likely remain forever. In a matter of seconds, Athren was able to permanently change the shape of the planet. He wondered if he could muster up enough energy to completely destroy it in one blast, though he shook his head to get himself back on track, he wanted to know how Koma and Nasu knew each other. "So, It's obvious that you and Nasu have crossed paths before." Athren paused for a moment as he cracked a faint smirk. "I'll take a guess and say you're rivals or something?" Even though it sounded odd due to their age difference, it was a possibility. Athren assumed that Nasu could kill Koma whenever he wanted, so straight up enemies seemed hard to fit into the situation so that left Athren believing rivals was the only remaining option. Of course when the truth came out he'd be completely blown away, it was something he didn't think about nor would he expect. What else was there to unravel in his life? KOmatsu nodded firmly when Athren told him to simply show off his skills in battle instead of simply telling him what he could do. It made sense, as words could only do so much to really describe anyone's techniques. They were always far more impressive in the heat of battle. Next, Athren began to speak about their attack plan, how they would be going in under the cover of the full moon and Komatsu fidgeted slightly. He couldn't control his transformation... as hard as he might, the beast always had a one up on him. He never truly wanted to take control of it... he had loved the pure animalistic feeling that it brought him. He could kill and destroy anything in his path without his parents reprimand. It seemed now however he might have wanted to listen to their lessons.
However when Athren admitted to not being able to control his beastial self either, he couldn't help but smile ever so faintly. He was definitely relieved to hear that. If the prince of all saiyans couldn't control it, then it wasn't a total failure on his part for not being able too either.
"I can't control the transformation either. I've never really wanted too when I was little, and I haven't seen a full moon in nearly 3 years. It's probably best I try to avoid looking at it too, I'd rather know what I'm doing if I'm going into a fight like this." Especially with Nasu there, Koma didn't want to lose control... he wasn't sure if the other saiyan could control himself or not... and if those two got into a fight in their ape forms... things would get very ugly very fast for everyone. Just as he started thinking of his brother, Athren came out and asked him about how he knew the older saiyan, causing Koma to hesitate before sighing. There was no point in lying to Athren if he wanted to remain in his good books. Besides... those other Earthlings new now, so it wasn't exactly a secret anymore.
"You... could say he's a rival in a sense... He won't kill me and try as I might... I won't kill him. See... Nasu is... He's my older brother. He sure as hell hasn't acted as one since I was a baby. Jerk never once even tried to come and find me after I was captured." At first Komatsu sounded unsure, worried about what Athren would say.. but the more he spoke about Nasu, the angrier the young saiyan became.
The kid began to speak and it was made clear that he couldn't control the Oozaru form either, which worked against them slightly. Without neither of them being able to transform they'd surely be lacking in the strength department. Athren wasn't sure exactly what the fighters they were going up against were capable of but he damn well knew that it wouldn't be easy, he also knew that any little advantage that their side received would be massively beneficial in the end. As of now, two of the three saiyans who intended to go were incapable of transforming into the Oozaru and maintaining control, there might have been a fourth but Athren wasn't sure about the status of the last. In the end these numbers meant that they'd have one controlled power house and then two fighters in base form attacking this thing. Athren nodded to the kids words, it made plenty of sense to stay in control during a fight like this. Even if they transformed and lost control, their power would be great but it would most likely be directed towards the wrong people. "Staying in control is probably best, though I'll keep the transformation in the back of my head as a last resort type idea." Regardless of this Athren didn't have to worry about it for now. He had other things to talk about.
It had been then that the kid began to speak again, he was going to answer Athren's questions regarding the relation between the brat and Koma. Surely, it wasn't anything of important or so thats what Athren would have thought until the moments to come. 'He's my older brother'. It was at this point that Athren's right eyebrow arched all so slight, he had the 'uhhhh' look on his face too. Of course it was going to be something he would have never suspected, that would take the fun out of it all, right? It took a couple of moments for the brats words to bounce back and fourth around Athren's thick and stubborn skull but eventually Athren had came up with something to say and it wasn't exactly smart, or reassuring. "Uhm.. Well, I'll tell you that I didn't expect that answer from you." Athren paused for a moment as he still tried to believe it all. Though, the words might have been difficult to believe, it was Koma that made it believable. The young royal blooded saiyan prince had actually trusted him completely, it was shocking how much actually. He hadn't trusted anybody like that since Zaleio or his mother back on Vegeta, since those two he trusty nearly nobody. The kid had spoken also of their 'rivalry' and how the older brother really didn't care much, Athren just assumed he was trying to follow the path of a saiyan without fault. Regardless of all that though, Athren had an amusing idea that Koma would most likely enjoy. Since they were brothers and Nasu was older and never really did a damn thing for Koma, what if Athren were to train Koma to the point where he could compete with Nasu? That would really bring a rivalry out of everything and it would be plenty beneficial for both Athren and Koma. ~Hm.. That could just work, though.. It'd take a while. Do I really have that much time to spare?~ Athren thought to himself as he brought his right hand up to rub it against his chin lightly. It was obvious that he had been thinking about something at this point he was having a rough time coming to a solid conclusion about it all. Finally, Athren decided to speak up about it, though it wouldn't happen immediately it could happen shortly after the whole attack was in the past. "I've got an idea, kid. After this attack business and over and done with, you and I can do some training. We'll get you up to your brothers level so you can mess him up, alright?" Athren had a faint smirk on his face as he said this, surely Koma would have something similar. It wasn't every day that somebody was offered to train to help beat their asshole brother up though it was kind of an amusing thought. When Athren said the idea and even spent the few moments thinking it up, he really didn't realize what he was getting himself into. He didn't think that he'd be giving up his own precious training time in order to enhance the brats, regardless. There wasn't much he could do about it now, by time he realized that he couldn't do that it was already too late. He wasn't going to back out on his word and disappoint the brat but that was something for much later in time.
Getting back to the more important topic of things Athren began to speak of what should be done in preparation for the upcoming event, Athren figured the kid could use a few more techniques and a well rounded work out to raise his power level slightly, Athren also knew a good rest wouldn't hurt either. "Alright, We'll be attack on the next of the full moons so that doesn't give us a lot of time." Athren paused for a moment. "Take the time to better yourself, do as much training as you can in the next few days, learn techniques and build your power higher, also make sure that you get plenty of rest. It's stupid going to a fight exhausted, it gets you no where." With that all being said Athren went quiet once more, he wasn't sure how Koma was going to react to it all. Though Athren took the most surprising news pretty well, he still wasn't sure about what Koma thought would happen. Sure, he didn't really care that Nasu was older than Koma and posed more of a threat. They were all saiyan warriors on a foreign planet. He couldn't afford to have pathetic grudge matches with those who needed to stick together, that would be foolish. Word Count:1,010 Total Word Count: 5,110

"I probably should of told you that he was here too. I didn't really think he was relevant enough to bring up... I definitely didn't think he would be planning an attack on anyone." Judging by the description of the one's they were attacking, he could only guess the trio that had come to take him down... the blond saiyan, the demon and the blue haired guy. No doubt they had allies too... why would he be starting a war against them? Was he really that upset that they had attacked him? No... there had to be something else that had happened to get him so pissed off.
Just as Athren seemed to be deep in thought of something, so did he. He was trying to find the purpose behind this attack, what it meant to Nasu. Personally, he had no issues attacking them, in fact he owed that demon chick a fight so at least he would be able to keep her out of the major fight for a while.
When he stated coming out of his train of thought, he saw Athren still deply in his and tilted his head slightly, curious as to what the other saiyan was thinking. Then, as he spoke a large grin spread across the young saiyan's face as he offered to train with him. He honestly felt like a kid in a candy store just then! He definitely had to make sure he came back alive now! There was no way he'd let this opportunity pass him by!
"That would be awesome! yeh! Alright we're going to kick these guys asses so hard!" He said with determination, smirking even wider as Athren quickly went over when the assault would start. He was definitely fired up for this now...
Athren listened carefully to Koma as he spoke about how he should have mentioned Nasu but he didn't think it was relevant enough to bring up. Athren shook his head lightly, Koma hit the nail on the head. There was no relevance to knowing that Nasu was on the planet or Koma's big brother. It wouldn't have done Athren any good or any harm knowing. The only reason Athren would have wanted to know was just to know Koma better, there was still a lot neither fighter knew about each other and if they planned to stick around as friends it would benefit them both to open up about their lives and personal experiences. It wouldn't exactly be easy as they were both saiyans but that would have been the best way to maintain trust and build their friendship. Of course, if Koma didn't want to reveal information Athren wouldn't hold it against him. If he decided to keep something personal away from Athren he most likely had good reason behind it. So far, Athren knew that Koma was quite nervous when revealing information. It was usually written all across his face when the time like that had shown up, so Athren understood that it might have been difficult to open up as well, regardless of that there were more important things to worry about rather than back story and personal histories. Of course, if it had been relevant to the upcoming battle Athren would encourage Koma to open up, but if it didn't have any use or advantages to being said Athren didn't find a need for it. "Well, You're right about it. It's completely irrelevant, so it doesn't matter that you decided to hold it back. Besides It doesn't matter to me whether he's your brother or not, to me he's just another saiyan. I've got the same issues with him as I do with you." Obviously at this point Athren was pointing to the obvious fact of nothing, Athren didn't have any issues with Koma. Sure, his parents might have been responsible for the death of Athren's mother, the queen but that was a fight between them. It wasn't a fight between Athren and the two brothers. There simply wasn't a need to tread into that territory over the sins of the past, that would be impractical and quite a stupid decision. Though, Athren would find it amusing to spar with the two of them one day. Both of them against himself when they all reached new tiers of power. It would be giving a little nod to the events that happened seven years ago.
Responding to Athren's training suggestion Koma's face lit up with a smile, he was quite pleased and even impressed with the idea though his words were full of confidence Athren thought differently. Athren hoped they'd win but at no time did he ever think it was going to be easy. He didn't know the exact odds they were going to be up against. Even though Athren didn't doubt Koma's skill set or even his own, he figured there would be quite the struggle to achieve a victory. There were too many unknown factors at play and he wasn't going to go gloating around that they'd win so easily. "I wouldn't be overly confident, kid." Athren paused for a moment as he once again crossed his arms against his chest. He didn't want to break Koma's good attitude but he wanted the kid to keep a level head. He understood that the age of him may have been leading him to such a conclusion but he also wanted to make Koma understand that they didn't know what the factors were. "I don't mean to break your confidence but there are too many factors at play in this battle that we aren't aware of. I'm not saying we're going to lose by no means, I just think it's going to be a little bit harder than you think it is to achieve any kind of victory." With that being said Athren went silent and raised his eyes to the sky. Even though it may have appeared like he zoned out he was awaiting a reply from the young warrior. Of course, only after he said his next words. "I don't doubt either of our abilities in combat, I'm just guessing that they're going to be tested and pushed to their limits." With that being said Athren went silent once more, this time to listen. As he stared up into the sky Athren began to picture a dozen scenarios in his head. Little things like who was going to show up, what kind of outcome would there be? It amused him and brought him to wonder. He fully expected Cambia to be there as she was Atsuko's sister, and if she was what would happen. Would she attack Athren simply to defend her sister or would she try to sway him to their team. He just didn't know. All these factors that weren't clear were stuck in his head, they were almost distracted him from the moment here with Koma and he wouldn't have answers until the time came to strike. In all honesty, Athren expected this fight to be all over the place. He didn't expect for one side to take the victory easily, of course he could be very wrong but that was unlikely. He wondered who'd Nasu would target first, he seemed to have an even hatred for them all. That also brought him to wonder if Koma knew any of these fighters and if he did, which one would he go for? Would it be one of the ones Athren actually knew or would it be a complete stranger? The simplest decisions in this fight could become the most difficult for Athren to cope with, what if he decided to attack Cambia. He'd want neither to die due to the evening he had spent with her, yet he wouldn't want neither to win. It was a tough spot to be in and he wasn't looking forward to getting there as much now as when he initially signed up. Word Count: 1,027 Total Word Count: 6,137

"Trust me I'm not being over-confident... I haven't had much luck with my winning streak since I got here, but I've found the ace up my sleeve and I know I can at least cause some serious damage before being taken down! Of course I'll be careful, I mean I don't really know who we'll be fighting or how many of them there will be... but if I don't go in with some confidence I won't stand a chance of winning right?" Komatsu reasoned in response to Athren warning him about over-confidence. That wa definitely something Athren didn't have to worry about... he might act like a cocky little shit most of the time, but he was actually very uncertain about himself. Until recently no one really acknowledged his strength, and most of the fights he fought, he lost. He'd never been able to beat his parents, he was captured during the war against Vegeta, beat time and time again as their prisoner, hadn't been able to defeat Nasu once he got to Earth and even lost against Onio when he had been stronger than him at the time. He had no reason to be over-confident in himself.
"I'm ready for whatever comes. I'll give it every I've got." He assured Athren and couldn't help but think 'I won't disappoint you'. That was the real reason behind him going into this fight. He wanted to further impress the one person who believed in him.
Athren once more listened to the brats words, they were words of wisdom. His speech upon going into a battle without confidence was deadly accurate. It was good, it proved that the tiny saiyan warrior had a very level head. That was something Athren needed to be around due to his habit of losing all logic when angry. Of course that wasn't uncommon for saiyan warriors and he just so hoped that Komatsu would be an exception to that. His attitude regarding it all was absolute perfect, he claimed to be ready for whatever was to come and that he'd give it everything he had. Athren didn't doubt this in the slightest, he knew for a fact that Koma would try his best. "I knew you would kid, Just.. " Athren paused for a moment, he thought about the whole scenario and the potential loss of life. He knew himself that he'd have a hard time fighting his own battle and that Koma was far below himself in power. This brought Athren to be slightly concerned with Koma's well being. He'd be fighting against some very high odds, one that even Athren wouldn't want to face head on. "I might not be able to keep my eyes on you during the whole thing. Fight smart and try not to get yourself killed, alright?" This was as sentimental as Athren was going to get, though to be honest this was enough to make him feel slightly uncomfortable. It was obvious that he was concerned for the smaller warrior, Athren was kind of stepping up as his big brother after all. "Whatever happens to me.. I don't want you interfering. Focus on your own battle and toss that 'guard' of the prince stuff aside. That's assuming it's still in your head anyway." Athren paused for another moment. "I don't need you getting killed because I can't hold my own, don't try to avenge me if things go to shit either. Just focus on you." With that being said Athren's sentimental rant came to a stop. He wasn't one for displaying his positive emotions but chances were Koma could see right through his stern attitude, Athren actually cared about the kid and it wasn't just because he had a massive amount of potential. It was more than that, with Koma being around Athren felt like he had a very minor purpose, it wasn't a life long, goal fulfilling one but it was a purpose nonetheless. That minor purpose was to insure he got the best life possible and always had somebody looking over his shoulder to make sure he wasn't in danger, Athren knew that the saiyan race wasn't very liked around the Earth and Athren intended to make sure they didn't somehow take Komatsu out.
It had been in that moment that Athren had grown to release a very loud yawn. "Heh.. I guess I'm getting tired. Too much training I suppose." He mumbled aloud for the brat to hear it. It was then that Athren turned his back to the kid and gazed off towards his The Nova. "Good luck with whatever you're working on, don't push yourself too hard. Get a good sleep. I'll see you when it's time" With that being said Athren slowly began to head towards his ship. He didn't push himself to get there as he found himself lost in thought. He thought about what his mother would think about this whole situation. After all, her son. The last remaining of the royal bloodline and the heir to the throne of Vegeta abandoning his people and taking in the youngest born son of the two responsible for her death. Surely she'd be turning in her grave, Hell. She was probably watching his growth from hell and shaking her fist at him. If they had ever crossed paths again, she'd most likely give the boy a beating.
When Athren had landed on the foot of the ships ramp he began to walk up it as he scratched his head. "Athren.. What the hell are you getting yourself into?" he asked himself quietly. There were too many factors in his life that could change instantly, first and foremost he had been bonding with the brat on a brother to brother scale, next. He had been engaging with activities with Cambia, not only that but he had been pushing his body to the limits with training. That wasn't the healthiest choice either. All of those could work against him easily and he wasn't quite fond of having a more, stress filled lifestyle. That wasn't what he had in mind for himself. Regardless of that, Athren had finally made it to his ship and began to head to his bedroom. It didn't take very long for him to get there and when he did he immediately got undressed and jumped into his bed. Though it was still fairly early he completely planned on training throughout the whole next day. He didn't want to give any breaks or anything, he wanted to go full force and conquer even more levels of gravity training. He wanted to work on a few techniques as well before the big show down. He needed to be completely prepared for everything to come, he needed to brace himself to fight against overwhelming odds and he needed to insure that he could help Koma if it came to that. Of course he hoped it didn't, he believed he'd have enough struggle keeping pace with his own battle. Things were going to get into a huge cluster and Athren didn't know if he'd manage to pull himself out of it. He was going to have to face off against few he knew, the ones who were kind to him and assisted him with getting back up to his feet. He'd need to dig deep to fight them with his full potential and that was going to be a huge battle all in it's own. Question was, could he dig deep and fight fully.. or would he allow himself to get roughed up? Word Count: 1013 Total Word Count: 7,150

"Don't worry about me, I'll be fine.I've been in battle before." Komatsu assured the elder saiyan as he suddenly seemed to be very worried about him. It was strange, to have someone care for him... but it made him happy to know that he had someone like that. Athren might not want him to fight to the death for him but he knew that he would if it came down to it. That as one order he'd have to disobey... without Athren he'd still be the Empire's puppet. He owed him so much more than a life debt.
However, as Athren spoke, the child stayed silent, simply nodding his understanding of the rules set before him. It wasn't until Athren yawned, indicating how much energy he had spent training did Komatsu speak up.
"Alright, I'll stay out here for a big longer, but I'll be sure to get some sleep as soon as I'm done. " He assured his big brother figure with a faint smile and a nod as Athren flew off back towards the ship. He sighed deeply once Athren was inside and looked out to the scar he had left on the planet.
"Nasu what the hell is this even about... it better not be stupid because I won't die for you." Komatsu grumbled, though he couldn't say dying in battle would be such a terrible thing... he did have people looking for him on the other side. He quickly shook his head free from the thought of his dead parents. As much as he missed them, he wouldn't just let himself go down without a serious fight. They would just have to wait!
In the meantime, Koma had one last ability to improve before this war took place... he had to get his Atomic Strike working to it's maximum. He would take in a deep breath as he closed his eyes, flexing the muscles in his arms and legs as he focused his ki into both hands. what he needed to do was be able to use his strike with his feet too, as well a his tail.
He would slowly channel his ki down his legs and into the balls of his feet. There he would push the energy outwards until they started to glow a bright red color, two orbs of ki forming around his feet themselves.
"Step one..." He said softly as he opened his eyes, the ki staying in place a he did so. Then, as if a sudden enemy appeared Komatsu dropped in altitude before rising again and kicking out against an invisible enemy. He would do this again and again until it became second nature for Komatsu to be able to channel the ki into his feet. He would even swing around and use his tail as a sort of whip, the same ball of ki channeled in the tip of it as he fought.
Surely this technique would come in handy, no one would expect getting ki slapped in the face by a saiyans tail.
"I need to be faster... faster...faster!" He would goat himself on as he pushed his speed to the limit as he spent the next two hours fighting the air.
It wasn't until Komatsu was 100% comfortable with his technique, and sufficiently exhausted did he call it a day and head back to the ship. he needed to get rested up, and needed to focus on the upcoming battle and what it would signify.
