Thread PL: 4382 - Untransed, as of yet in the story.
"Go get used to the body you're in," Nori was told, almost like now that the consciousness transfer was complete, they no longer cared about him. "Go for a walk on the town, find something interesting to do. Preferably something physically exerting."
So, in essence, they stranded Nori on a planet he had never been on with a climate so cold he could swear that his joints were freezing together - That isn't a possible threat, now that I'm mechanical, is it? - and no knowledge of the world he was in, where anyone was, or what he could do to 'exert' himself. Lovely. This guys didn't work this out at all, did they? Nori internally huffed and puffed as he strolled around, reflexively tightening his right arm around himself even if he no longer really felt the cold, before, and suddenly quirking an eyebrow as he did, bringing his right arm up to his side.
Nori wasn't used to having a left arm again, for sure. It had been fascinating when he had first seen he could swing it around again, but he had become so accustomed to missing an arm that his mind no longer reflexively had it do anything, like open doors or even basic punches or blocks. It was inconvenient, if nothing else, and something that Nori would need to fix quickly. He had grown pretty attached to his leg-based fighting style, so he didn't want to give that up, but he would need to find a better way to incorporate his arms into it. It would be a waste not to, now that he had both again.
The town seemed to be pretty lively - or as lively as it got in the fucking Arctic - but Nori couldn't really bring himself to talk to the other beings there, instead opting to spy on them from afar, taking note of how they acted toward each other and the wary glances they all shot at him. Well, that suited him fine. I didn't want to talk to them anyway. shot through Nori's mind, and with it all of the maturity and grace of a five year old as he made a point to fold his arms up and look away from them.
One of the first most fortunate things, Nori would realize, was his lack of hunger, which was always convenient. Unlike he typically would when browsing over meals, regardless of how alien and unappetizing they looked, he no longer felt particularly hungry. Hell, he wasn't even sure if he had taste buds anymore - Oh, man, I'd better still have taste buds. - and it made it all the weirder wandering through town. He could agree he was acting more 'efficiently' - whatever the hell that meant in this context - but not needing basic necessities was something that would take some getting used to.
After a while of wandering around, Nori would stop on a bench and give a huff. While it was alright to wander around for a bit, he needed a way to test out the body's durability and abilities when compared to his own. While he could feel how ridiculously heavy it was, it seemed scrawny and unable to throw a serious punch, and in his line of work, that was a problem.
And, as he thought that, he would very conveniently catch the eye of one the Koldians(?) running around, and, giving a swift nod to a few others, who would quickly spread out to places Nori couldn't see, the Kold race member would approach Nori, giving a polite smile. "Hello! I couldn't help but notice you don't seem to be from around here. What's your name?" Nori gave a confused look - given how he was practically ostracized by everyone else, this seemed shady - but answered anyway. "Nori. I'm a Saiyan." He would patiently respond, before giving a snarl and looking down at his body. "Ugh. Well, used to be."
The person seemed confused, but didn't press the issue. "Ah! Well, my name is Frigid. Nice to meet you." He would swiftly respond. Nori had to stop himself from snorting at the obvious 'cold' pun. Frigid would, on that note, suddenly give a quick look around. "Say, if you're a Saiyan..." Frigid tentatively began, with a worried look on his face, "...I've been worried that someone has been following me recently, and I'm worried someone may be out to attack me. Would you please accompany me?" He offered. Nori perked up immediately - it was almost perfect how well this lined up with he needed to do. "Sure thing." Cyn nonchalantly responded, jerking up from his seat. "Where are you going?"
Frigid would give him a relieved smile and gesture down the road. "Come on! I'll explain along the way." He would cheerily respond, hiding a snide smirk on the other side of his face. Nori wordlessly followed, continuing to look around. As he walked along with Frigid, people would take a look at Frigid and run away. Red flags were being set off everywhere. Frigid would keep going, not bothering to explain where they were going. Nori gave a confused look at him, but didn't question it.
Before long, Frigid would lead him a bit out of the main part of the city into a more run-down area with a lot less people. In fact, almost none at all. Nori would continue looking around at the scenery - run down houses, poorly-maintained yards - and compare it to Frigid - Frigid, now that he noticed, seemed to be wearing some pretty high-quality - and would finally stop walking, sending a glare in Frigid's direction. Frigid didn't stop intently walking until he heard Nori's voice from behind him. "No one is following you, are they? Where are you leading me?"
Frigid almost seemed like he would give another cheery response, but halfway through, he took a good look at Nori's expression and instead let out a condescending sigh. "If you had played dumb for just a few more minutes, this would be a lot easier." He mused, almost as though Frigid were talking to himself, before he gave a wild, sadistic grin and snapped his fingers. From the alleys nearby, more Kold Demons would leap from their cover - two, to be precise - and, with Frigid included, make a circle around Nori to prevent escape.
Nori felt his guard raise almost instantly at the sight of the sneering Koldians that had surrounded him. "Mugging? That's what this is about?" Nori remarked with a snarl. Frigid gave a condescending laugh in response, not even honoring Nori with a response before snapping his fingers, sending the other two rushing at him from behind.
Nori would swiftly react - the first attack thrown at him was a punch from his left side, which was quickly evaded. Nori would take the chance to grab on to his assailant's wrist and pull him forward, twisting his arm behind his back and using him as some kind of impromptu shield against the next coming attack - a kick that would have nailed Nori in the side. Koldian 1 let out a gasp of surprise as the breath was knocked out of him, and Nori would swiftly twist Koldian 1's arm around and forcefully tug on it, giving a grunt of effort in the process. The result was a sickening crunch and a scream as Koldian 1's arm jerked up to an unnatural angle, breaking it. Nori would follow this up with a swift kick to the side of the head, cutting off the scream by knocking him unconscious.
Koldian 2 gave a fearful look and hesitated, but then quickly regained his will and dived at Nori, making as if to attack from the right, when, at the very last second, switching to a hook using his left fist. Nori gave a surprised "Hmmmph!" as the fist connected, but he would instantly follow up with a swift kick to the chin, sending Nori's aggressor careening back, before he would quickly chase after him, bringing his right leg up to the side and rapidly kicking at the Kold Demon before finally spinning around and landing a satisfying kick to the neck, which was met with the body suddenly giving way and crumpling on the ground. He wasn't dead - Nori could sense his Power Level - but was pretty damn close.
Frigid gaped at the way Nori had dispatched two of his comrades, and, giving a pissed off expression, would promptly begin blasting at Nori in a rapid-fire way. His attacks would be met with little success - Nori's legs would move faster, rapidly deflecting in the incoming attacks around him. Frigid would, on that note, blast the ground, kicking up dust in some futile effort to escape. Nori, on the other hand, would instantly turn on his scanners, find him, and pursue him, hovering off of the ground and shooting through the air.
The chase didn't last long, and Nori was almost instantly on top of Frigid. Frigid would attempt to hover into the air and throw a wild haymaker in Nori's general direction, but Nori would easily react, bringing his knee up in a casual block - when, suddenly, Frigid would twist around in the air, bringing a much more focused and precise punch down on Nori's left flank. Nori would give a gasp as Frigid did so, not bringing his left arm up to guard in time, and would be sent careening through the air, Frigid in hot pursuit. Frigid would use the advantaged state he had been given to proceed to lay into Nori, feinting a few attacks onto Nori's right side before punishing with a swift attack to the left - he had identified Nori's weakness and abused it maliciously.
Frigid's pressure would finally begin to end, however, when Nori would finally bring his left arm up in time to block an attack and promptly followed up with a swift knee to the stomach - leading Frigid to cough up blood - before Nori brought his hands together into a hammer motion and slammed them into Frigid, sending him flying towards the ground. He would bounce a few times before landing on the cold hard ground, unconscious.

"Really?" The person who had transferred his consciousness to the Android body gave a sigh. "When I told you to 'go test out the body,' I meant to take a leisurely stroll, not thwart some mugging." He sounded a lot like a parent too amused to really be mad at their kid. Nori, in response, folded his arms and gave a sigh. "To be fair, they attacked me first." Nori huffed, and the response he got was a chuckle. "Ah, well, it's no big deal. The entire scenario gave us a lot more data than we could have expected. It turns out that the frame isn't as efficient as it could be." Nori gave a tilt of the head in response.
"You sent me out there with a basically incomplete body?" Nori hissed, while his 'creator' simply laughed it off. "Anyway, I did go ahead and fix that up while I repaired you. You should be a bit better off now." He summarized it quickly, and Nori found himself throwing out a few punches and kicks, being surprised at how much... easier it felt. "Exactly how much did I improve?" Nori asked, giving a quirked eyebrow. This felt way too much faster for a bit of an efficiency fix.
"I'm summarize... About five times faster or so."
Nori gave a blink. "F-Five times?" He found himself confirming, surprised at how much he had supposed be improved. "E-Exactly how inefficient was this body earlier?"
"Very." was the curt answer, and Nori didn't press it. He felt slightly uncomfortable at the fact he had ventured outside and gotten into a fight in such an undeveloped body. Nori would then sit down. "Okay, so... what now?" The preliminary phase, as Nori could call it, was over, so he wasn't totally sure what else he would be needed for at this point on Frost.
Nori's suspicions were confirmed when a worn-out pod was placed in front of him. "It was all we could afford," a voice apologetically came from Nori's left, "after we spent so much making your body. I would recommend heading back to Sadal - it appears to be a lot more lively than here." Nori gave a curt nod, signalling his agreement on that course of action, and before long, Nori found himself being loaded up inside of the pod outside, preparing to shoot off into the great unknown...
