Well, Celerous mused as he threw his bag onto the ground of his foyer, at least the mansion had survived. After seeing the damage done to the Earth from space, Celerous had four priorities: to check on his family, to check on his master, to check on Liari (he hadn't gotten that far just yet), and to check on his god damn villa. He'd only just bought this thing, and would have been seriously pissed off if it had gone to shit while he was on Namek. Though, if it had, it would have been entirely his own fault.
Celerous may have done so unknowingly, but he'd abandoned Earth in its most dire hour, so that he could go traipse around Namek like some kind of tourist. And sure, he did make himself useful while he was there, protecting Guru and the Dragon Balls (which no one knew about, and Celerous was going to make sure it stayed that way), but it wasn't enough to atone for his absence. What if something had happened to his family? What would he have done then?
Galen, Celerous was almost one hundred percent sure, was dead. He wasn't on the Tower, and the hybrid had flown as fast as he could around the world, just reaching out for the Human's energy. It was nowhere to be found. Celerous knew that the man could be in hiding, and prayed that that was the case, but he wasn't naive enough to believe that some like Galen would hide while the Earth was in danger. The man saw himself as the protector of the Karinga Tribe, and he wouldn't run from that.
Celerous supposed that role would have to fall to him now. Celerous had sworn that, until Galen's Tower was occupied once more, he would keep a watchful eye on the peaceful Karinga people. It was the least he could do for Galen. Still, even Celerous needed sleep, and so he'd decided to retire for the day to his own villa. Tomorrow he would return to the Tower, and float above the Karinga Tribe's lands, ensuring that their quiet lives remained so. He'd need to double up on his training though; Galen had been (or hopefully still was) far stronger than Celerous himself was now. Not to mention, he was a martial arts master in his own right. Celerous knew that, if he really wanted to protect other, he had some serious work to do. No more half ass training, and no more vacation trips.
His parents had once been self proclaimed protectors of all the planets in Free Space. And now, Celerous had declared himself the temporary protector of the Karinga Tribe. Funny how things like that seemed to work themselves out.
