Hell, it wasn’t the place Tomoroko ever wanted to find herself, let alone her children. She had been lucky enough when Komatsu passed that he was granted access to the upper worlds, but unfortunately his older brother wouldn’t be granted the same forgiveness. She knew that long before she felt Nasu’s energy slip into the world of the dead.
At first, Tomoroko was ready to leap into the depths of hell to find him but soon found herself hesitating. His presence would vanish completely for a long period of time, making her wonder just why it was he was using his god form in hell… As time went on and she still couldn’t sense him she started to fear that something had happened and he had been erased from existence. Her heart was heavy in her chest, she felt sick, worried to death that she had lost her son now just as she had lost her mate… If they were both gone then she’d find a way to destroy her own soul. She didn’t want to keep continuing without them…
However finally Nasu’s power re-emerged and a huge weight was lifted from her chest. She could finally breath much easier. With the assistance of the Kai’s magic, she suddenly vanished and reappeared in hell. Honed in to Nasu’s signature, she appeared right behind her eldest son, a smile coming to her lips which quickly faded at the halo over his head. As relieved as she was to see him, the fact remained that he was dead.

Nasu had an interesting time with Mira and he learned quite a lot, not only in techniques and fighting skills, but he learned as a whole and, somehow, he felt like a changed man now, a better one, a more fitting warrior and perhaps a leader if there was still a place for him among his peers. However, he didn’t quite know if he would be willing to fight for his old position and in all honesty, if he was to lead, he would do so because his peers, his fellow saiyans wanted him to, and not by imposing his own will above them.
He was walking through the dead forest land of Hell, all alone, once he was finished his training and suddenly he sensed a familiar power level appearing right behind him and that made him stop, but not to turn back. His expression remained quite serious and serene and then he closed his eyes and kept them that way. The golden halo was above his head, glowing just enough to show its mystical properties; the bound of his body to the world of the dead, his freedom and his shackles all in one.
The woman spoke nothing but his name, and for a moment, he did the same. ”Mother…” he said and then paused for a few seconds which seemed to last way more. Slowly he opened his eyes and finally he decided to turn around and look at Tomoroko. She had that halo above her head, just like his and she hadn’t aged a single day, which made him think the same fate would befall him if he was to stay – which he didn’t plan to – and he considered what he could accomplish there. But then again, it would be meaningless, because the dead are meant to be forgotten, no matter what, and the clouds above him, those impregnable clouds were enough of a reminder.
”How may I help you?” and this sentence was odd, because while it was much better than Nasu’s normal angry and read to strike behavior, it was ice cold. His eyes held no affection anymore, not for her at least.
Her eyes were gentle as she looked upon her son. He kept her back turned to her and that was more of a slap in the face than if he had actually turned to do just that. She was quick to close the gap between herself and Nasu, quickly wrapping her arms around him and hugging him from behind, resting her head lightly on his back as she held onto him tightly. She could have cried as she held him, but she didn't... somehow she managed to compose herself just enough to keep the water works at bay but the tone of her voice carried all the pain that weighed down her heart.
"I thought I lost you too... I'm so... so sorry Nasu. I never imagined they would go that far, I never thought... no I never hoped to see you here so soon. When you used your god form in hell... I couldn't sense you, you must of maintained it for quite some time I thought maybe... maybe you were gone for good too..." She said softly, tightening her grip around him almost as if in desperation. She'd felt so lost when she thought Nasu might have vanished forever. Of course she had confidence in his incredible strength but her fear was more powerful than her right now... it had been ever since Natto passed. She hadn't been herself, and she hadn't been able to muster up the strength to even try to build herself back up to what she had once been.
She must have looked so disappointing to her eldest don just then... a desperate woman coming to him for strength she couldn't find in herself. She'd really hit rock bottom, and she was clinging to her family to keep her afloat.

Tomoroko hugged Nasu and he let her for the time being and remained there in silence while his mother spoke her mind. He didn’t show any trace of emotion as she did so and allowed her to end her speech before he managed to get himself out of her embrace and then turned around to face her. Nasu had nothing but coldness in his eyes right now, at least that was what he was giving her.
”How naïve and delusional are you, mother?” he bluntly asked, pausing briefly. ”Why wouldn’t they do that? Why wouldn’t they go that far? I was killing their friends one by one.” and that was the harsh truth he was well aware of, and in all honesty, Nasu was way too tired of sugarcoating things, of pretending they were capable of saving any trace of family they still held in their hearts. No, Nasu had buried that when he decided to try to kill the fused warrior and he didn’t feel like changing his mind right now.
”I’m not like you or father. I never was, even though I tried to be. It’s not within my nature. I’m not like Lettis either. I’m myself, my own type of saiyan and I’m satisfied with that.” his tone was still cold, but there was a bit of irritation in it. ”The only reason I stopped the Tree of Might was because of what your boss said. About the mortal level, and I only believed him because I know there are beings that are far above us, but I don’t plan on letting them belittle me for long, but that’s none of your concern.” he paused once again.
”But I’m done with attacking people. I will find a suitable planet for my kin and be there, if that’s what you are worried about. If that’s all you want, then you should get out of this place. I can’t go up there so you shouldn’t be able to get down here!” his tone became a tad bit harsher now.
She held onto him as long as she could, but as soon as Nasu began worming his way out of her grasp she didn't attempt to stop him... She would loosen her grip and let him step away from her, drawing her arms towards her chest as she listened to his words. While they were harsh, it wasn't like they were hurtful, at least not in any sense Nasu knew of them being hurtful. Sure he was cold, but she really couldn't expect more then that.
"Honestly, probably very delusional at this point..." She muttered, having clung to the idea of her family so tightly since Natto's passing that she had gone and meddled far more than she ever should have. She had always followed Natto, at least for nearly as long as she could remember. She always had him to guide her, always had him to look up too when she needed guidance but now... she didn't, and she was screwing up everything she held dear.
" I know you were, I was watching... but Koma... Komatsu's never been like that before. He idolizes you, ya know? I was so sure he wouldn't even consider killing you, only stopping you from hurting the one's he cares about. " She said just as lowly, looking and sounding like a shell of what she formerly was. She stood so unsure of everything, compared to the strong female leader of the Saiyan Alliance from back in the day.
"You know, you're more like your father than you realize. Your hearts might had led you both in different directions but you're still both very similar. Your both strong, and not just in strength but in character. You're proud, unyielding and someone those who follow you look up too. He would be really proud of you, even now you know if he were here..." She stated, letting the first hint of his absence slip. Now that they were in the after-life, there really was no reason for Natto not to have come with Tomoroko to hell to find their son. Had Natto still been around, surely it would have been the first thing he did.
Whenever Nasu started to talk about not letting those above him belittle him Tomoroko raised her eyebrow and stood up a little straighter. Was NAsu truly going to try and challenge the gods themselves? She understood his new god powers were incredible but what he was thinking was suicide.
"If you're thinking of what I think you are, please don't... You might not care for me at all but I still care about you Nasu and I can't... I just can't lose you too. I didn't come here for any other reason than to just be with you. Again you might not like it but you're still my son, and I"m still going to dote over you no matter how old, no matter what kind of person you become." She stated, refusing to simply leave hell by being shooed away by her child. Honestly she really should pick herself up at a time like this but it was like every moment, the wound inflicted by NAtto leaving her kept getting deeper.

The Earthling Saiyan had already felt Nasu’s energy as he was sent to Hell-- it would have been weird not to sense it when he transformed into his Super Saiyan Three form. After all, the guy was potent and not only that, but the string of power that separated both Super Saiyan Two and Three was vast.
The mere force of the long-haired and browless transformation itself was enough to shake the same dimension one was located within-- no wonder that the Saiyan had felt his kin all the way beyond the clouds that divided Heaven and Hell.
It was a straightforward system that Cornatto had realized after he had been given judgments; based on your deeds, you’d go either there or on the other side, which at times, could be different given on your acts themselves. An example of it is how the Earthling Saiyan was sent to Kaio-sama’s planet, although that crimson Oni had also offered him the chance to just go straight to heaven.
But, he had chosen for Kaio-sama’s training. He wanted to get stronger and had also grown a little curious to meet the guy! It turned out that he was a lot weaker than the raven-haired alien, but he had some interesting techniques-- such as the Kaioken! Then again, the Kaioken itself had its perks and drawbacks; he couldn’t certainly use it way too much in a fight, especially with a transformation. That would have been a huge problem, for sure, given it’d strain to the point of death at a certain point. He guessed he could work around a way even with the Super Saiyan Three transformation, but he’d have sure needed some time to master the Kaioken technique better first.
Either way, though, what mattered now was Nasu. In a lot of ways, honestly. The man could already pick up on Tomoroko’s energy which made him smile quite a bit! “Hehe, I guess they’re having a family reunion. Too bad Natto isn’t here… I wanted to fight him again!” - he said to himself as he pouted before he let out a faint breath from his lips.
The man stood with his shoes planted firmly on Kaio-sama’s planet; his fists closed on his hips as he watched the skies with interest before his gaze eventually fell to stare at the massive gathering of yellow-colored clouds. “Man, I need to get even stronger for this tournament… Galen is a good training partner, but I need someone even more powerful than me!”
The Earthling Saiyan’s thoughts naturally dwelled on Nasu; he was probably the right person to go for a challenging fight, or well, perhaps even impossible given just how strong he was in his Super Saiyan form-- but it wasn’t like there were many other people in the Afterlife whom he could fight. The armored Saiyan himself was probably the best option; perhaps he could manage to draw something out within his body; power would usually come in response to a need, not a desire, after all. But he was sure he wouldn’t have indeed unlocked Super Saiyan Three in his state, Corn felt it-- it was close, but he needed something more to tap into it, and yet, he needed a far higher power than the one he already wielded. He didn’t think it was impossible, after all, he was still weaker than what Natto used to be-- the latter one had reached levels that were then surpassed by his son.
“Maybe I should go and see how it goes, even because the tournament--”
The Earthling Saiyan paused for a brief moment and blinked his eyes quickly. “Oh right! The Tournament of Power! I guess I’ll catch the two birds with one stone,” - he said to himself as he realized that he had yet to tell Nasu about the tournament given how hard he had been trying to improve himself. He still needed to find a handful of members to join the competition. Nasu would have made a perfect ace given he was smart and also the most potent Saiyan alive at the moment-- it made Corn glad that Nasu was that powerful honestly-- if not the father, then Cornatto could have looked up to Nasu's power as a point of reference and drive himself to get stronger. He only hoped that the son of Natto would accept the offer to join the tournament, but if he could guess how Nasu had become, he was undoubtedly going to do so.
And thus, the Earthling Saiyan jumped down Kaio-sama’s planet and then dashed in the otherworld’s skies as a ghostly-white aura flared around his muscular form. The Saiyan easily pierced through the golden clouds as they departed at the mere contact with the Turtle Hermit’s powerful aura. It took Corn a few moments to get past the thick formation of clouds, but as soon as he did, he could easily see a far more twisted and bizarre place than Kaio-sama’s peaceful planet, it wasn’t all that scary as he had imagined, it looked a lot like Planet Vegeta.
“So this is hell, huh? It’s not so bad… I had expected worse.”
The man quickly sped up as he reached the two in depth of Hell’s forests as he halted in the skies and heard them speak of the gods and how Nasu was apparently not going to let them belittle him ‘any longer’ soon enough. The Earthling Saiyan quirked an eyebrow but also formed a genuine smile as he began to slowly lower himself to the ground.
“I am with Nasu on that one! I fought the God of Destruction--, yeah, not much of a fight. She destroyed me, hehe! But I’ll keep getting stronger until I can stand up to the likes of her,” - the man announced as his shoes made a faint clicking noise as soon as they stepped on the firm ground of the ‘lower realms’ of the Afterlife. The two obviously had different motivations but also a common goal, apparently.
The man soon lifted a hand up in greeting. “Hey! It’s been a while since we got to talk, Nasu. I know this may be a little out of place, and you’re all grown up and whatever, but treat your mom a little better, will ya’?” - he snickered-- although maybe it was a little forced of a friendly behavior; he hoped that perhaps he could ease off the tension a little. But forced or not, he didn’t hold any grudge towards Nasu at all.
“I heard you lost your fight pretty bad. I don’t know how or whatever happened, but hey, I see you’re not down with the mood at all. I sense a power even higher than when I saw you on Earth,” - he paused as the man’s peaceful expression was quickly overwhelmed by a warrior’s smirk.

Nasu didn’t doubt his younger brother had looked up to him in the past. No, he was pretty certain he did, but it didn’t mean he was still looking up to him when he antagonized him in plenty of occasions. He couldn’t really blame him for keeping himself attached to the peaceful ideals of the Saiyan Alliance, but that meant things between them changed too much to the point he believed all the bridges that connected the siblings had burned out. ”And yet, he was the one to kill me. Like I said, I don’t blame him. But you are indeed delusional, if you think he still looks up to me. I’m fire, he is water. That much is clear as day light.” Nasu coldly said, shaking his head in disapproval of his mother’s claims.
However, when she said that Nasu was very much like his father, he arched one of his eyebrows, feeling rather intrigued – it had been a very long time since the last time he saw himself following on Natto’s footsteps – and he almost protested immediately, but he decided to hear why she believed they were alike and thus he tightened his arms near his armored chest. What Tomoroko said, though, made sense and he lowered his emotional guard, his mental defenses for a moment and, out of pure instinct, he reached for the cross-shaped scar on his left cheek, the one he made on himself when he watched his father die, as a reminder to never trust the other races again and that made him sigh deeply and sharply.
For a moment, he didn’t know what to say and that sensation was irritating and thus he scoffed, gazing away for a moment, while still touching his scar with his index and middle fingers of his right hand. All this conversation made him realize one thing: why his father was always mentioned in the past? Why was he never there? Komatsu claimed he came to greet him, and even Akiko claimed the same, and yet, Nasu was there and only his mother came to him. This thought was bugging him and he stared back at the saddened saiyaness with questions inside his eyes, but not expressed through his mouth.
Finally, when she said that, in the light of him challenging the God of Destruction, she couldn’t lose him too, he finally understood that somehow his father was no more, not even in the world of the dead and for once, that hit him hard and he felt like his legs were about to fail him. Nasu became pale and he gulped. A cold drop of sweat ran down his temple and he could feel his heart beating faster and faster.
”Y-you… You mean to… To tell me he is no more?! Is that it?!” when he finally mustered enough will power to ask what happened to his father, he noticed someone approaching and speaking; the shock prevented him from sensing his considerable ki approaching, but he was way too distressed to even get angry because of that. Cornatto claimed to have fought against Lagerus and lost, but Nasu just stared at him without saying a word. After that he greeted the saiyan and then told him to treat his mother better and finally the shock was disappearing a bit and he managed to get enough of a grip to answer the earthling saiyan.
”Why don’t you go mind your own business? You are annoying even in death…” he scoffed in mild annoyance. Still, his words had no effect on Cornatto and he continued by mentioned how he lost and Nasu gazed away for a moment and clicked his tongue. A vein popped out in his temple, showing he was irritated by that conversation and he once again folded his arms, but it lightened a bit when Cornatto complimented his power and Nasu stared back at him with the corner of his eyes.
”You have no idea. I’m stronger than ever and I will soon get out of this place.” he coldly stated, still oblivious to the dread situation his universe was in, or to the fact that his Kingdom was shattered and his planet was no more.
"I know... Nasu and I'm sorry... but I think you and Koma have more in common than you think, maybe the two of you should talk privately without anyone else influence? Even if you two don't get along I know there's a middle ground you two can reach." She said softly, her voice losing all traces of it's usual strength and passion. She just sounded incredibly sad speaking to him. She didn't move from her spot though, even as Nasu would huff and puff, crossing his arms and shifting around like an anxious kid. There was a long silence between the two after her words as it was clear that Nasu was putting the pieces together, why it was that Tomoroko appeared so often but Natto did not, why she was interfering so much but his father remained in the after life. When he spoke, he definitely hit the nail on the head.
"I haven't told anyone I... It's been months and I just... I don't know... I can't..." She couldn't even find the words to describe why it was she had kept the news of Natto leaving a secret. It hurt her too much to talk about it, she still refused to believe it and with all her heart she hoped that Rukia had been right and that he had been reincarnated... even if he wasn't the same anymore he would still be her Natto...
"Do you remember... when you first let the Demon Queen mark you? I got so...mad! I just wanted to get back down to the living realm and hit you for being such an idiot... The only reason I got too was because of Mayuri. That's when we both realized that... maybe we weren't meant to stay dead... we realized that you and Koma, even Akiko needed us alive. We weren't sure how to do it but then your dad..." She paused as she let a heavy breath escape her lips. Cornatto had arrived in the middle of her story and she paused it during the banter between the two boys, resuming it to cut the tension in the air between them and finish letting Nasu know what happened.
"...he thought he could break through the barrier between the living world and the other world. Basically resurrect himself with pure strength. He used a technique called the Kaioken and pushed it to 100 times what anyone's body could take. The kaioken technique completely destroyed him, vaporized him right in front of me. I... told him not to do it but you know your dad... he had his mind set on getting back to life." At this point, Tomoroko's teeth were clenched so tightly to try and prevent herself from crying it was physically hurting her. Her eyes were watered over but she didn't let herself cry. She had done enough crying because of this, but no matter how hard she tried to move past it just talking about the memory brought all of the pain with it. She didn't want to tell either of the men here that there was a possibility Natto was reincarnated... it could be that he hadn't, so she didn't want to give them a false hope... In her mind it would just be better to let Natto rest, let his story come to a close...
She glanced back towards Cornatto to see how he would react to the news that he would never get to see Natto again, waiting for both of them to get angry with her for not having said anything sooner...

Cornatto let a grin crack on his face as he laughed faintly at Nasu’s reaction. Things hadn’t changed at all, no matter how many years, it seemed like Nasu couldn’t still get that much along with the other Saiyan but hey, it was always as funny as ever to the Earthling Saiyan, so he didn’t complain too much. But hey! They were both dead, so they had something in common, right?
“Haha! C’mon, don’t be like that, Nasu! We should become friends, we’re both dead now, after all.” - he said. The man had also realized that Nasu had gone entirely beyond what he was on Earth-- although he didn’t know too much about the whole God stuff, Corn could tell that Nasu seemed quite confident about his power, just like he said. It made Corn feel a few shivers down his spine; he was eager to see his full potential promptly-- perhaps that very same day and given the fact Nasu probably looked forward to beating down the Saiyan ever since he was a kid, he’d likely agree-- or that’s what Corn hoped at least.
The Turtle Hermit snickered a bit to himself as Nasu mentioned that he’d get out of Hell. He could see it quickly happen; his Super Saiyan Three power was one that he had sensed quite immediately when he powered up that other time, but probably not enough to escape the Other World. That being said, though, he did wonder if there were different ways to get out of the Afterlife aside from the Dragon Balls-- if there were, that’d have been pretty neat.
“Hehe! I am sure you will, buddy. Try not to go too far-- I have something to tell ya’ and trust me, I am sure it’ll get you excited cause we’ll get to fight very strong guys!”
Cornatto himself was still unsure whether he’d have decided to stay or just go back to the world of the living. He guessed he’d have made a choice after the Tournament of Power, though. For the moment he needed to stay around both for his training with Galen and King Kai and also so that he could keep on recruiting the remaining team members, one of which was Nasu and he was aiming to tell him right away.
However, before the Earthling Saiyan could go on about that, he realized he had interrupted something, and thus he let out a goofy chuckle and rubbed the back of his neck. “Oopsie, sorry! Haha…”
The man gradually became silent as he let Tomo talk and now that he was there, he decided to take part in the conversation as well and just listen to what the female was talking about. It was seemingly something pretty valuable as he could tell that the Saiyan mother’s mood had turned way down the pit in a matter of moments as she said the tale of someone who had managed some crazy feat; to push the Kaioken to times one hundred.
Cornatto widened his eyes for an instant and blinked, in wonder to what incredible strength such a feat must have granted him; he aware of the technique and had learned it himself but he could only imagine just how powerful a Kaioken X100 could get him. Probably above anything else he had ever faced before, but such was not what most concerned him but rather the fact that the Kaioken had vaporized the person entirely.
The man’s face twisted from one of amusement and turned rigidly into one of concern, with his eyebrows that arched and slowly lowered down to his facial features as he eyed the Saiyan girl.
Being vaporized was something that had also happened to Cornatto, which was how he found himself there at the moment but what would happen if you were already dead? That was quite a mystery to Cornatto; he assumed that you’d just go back to the station but not even that, as Tomo soon mentioned that the man that had pushed himself a hundred past the limitations of the Kaioken technique was Nasu’s dad.
“Natto?... So that means…”
The man mumbled under his breath as he stared at Tomoroko shockingly but soon enough his gaze fell for him to stare at the ground and scowl silently as he clenched his teeth. His facial features rose, slightly curving the outline of his eyes as they stared at nothing, although his glance was indeed aimed at the ground he was standing onto.
The Earthling Saiyan and the former Saiyan Commander had been good friends given how alike they were and their good chemistry, for they had both also put a lot of work into the Alliance but in the end, Natto died and left the living realm forever. Cornatto had already put all of that past him, despite how difficult it was for him at first to accept the deaths of his friends but somehow, he hoped that he’d get to meet them again one day.
He could feel his face slowly more livid as his raw emotions quickly heated him with anger. He grunted silently in pain that he had not felt in a while that quickly maddened him but as much as the man tried, he couldn’t get that tightening sensation up his chest to stop and cease as his breathing pace promptly increased.
“Is it… Is it really the end of you? Natto…!”
But he had realized it when Tomo had told him that he wouldn’t have probably shown around at all, but now he guessed that at least he knew what had happened, but it was indeed a massive disappointment for him and also a sharp blade of sadness for the man to meet with the truth that his friend has forever lost his life. Cornatto had always counted on him because he knew he could, but in the end, could Natto have ever said the same?
The martial artist left the Alliance when it needed his help, and he wasn’t even around for when his heritage could have used a hand and perhaps the planet as a whole. Natto was a good friend, but the Turtle Hermit had barely been there for what he had left and for the man himself, who ended up getting destroyed. The man wasn’t scowling, and his lips were as flat as they could get as he stared beneath his feet and tightened the grasp of his fist ever so slightly but hard enough for his veins to be visible over his skin.
Cornatto soon lifted his gaze up and exchanged looks with Tomoroko for a few moments; he didn’t aim angst towards her but he wasn’t naturally happy at all, on the other hand, he was furious. But he knew that Tomo had no blame in any of this, and suffered more than both the men probably did at the moment.

It was funny to think just how much Cornatto annoyed him, and that made Nasu scoff, getting a bit irritated with himself that he allowed the earthling saiyan to exert this kind of influence over his mood. ”Grrr… This short temper of mine will be my doom… Honestly…” the realization was overly annoying, but at least he was maturing a bit; death, oddly enough, has been a good experience to the young Saiyan King, and because of that he was able to see some of the errors of his way. In any case, what Cornatto said made no sense and, after a little struggle controlling his own anger, he coldly stared at the saiyan. ”Your argument makes no sense. Why should death brings us together? We are not even in the same spectrum of death, you idiot.” he mentioned, pointing out that while Cornatto had been sent to the upper realms, Nasu was condemned to Hell due to his actions, showing just how different they were in life.
But what he said next picked up his interest and thus he narrowed his eyes, locking his glare onto the goofy looking saiyan. ”Fight strong guys?” he simply asked, being unable to hide his interest. After Nasu’s training with Mira, his eyes were once again opened to the marvels of a bloody battle against a wall that was way too hard to climb and that got his blood running fiercely, despite how odd it was that he still had blood in his dead body; Nasu had given up trying to understand otherworld biology, because everything seemed way too similar to what it was in life, despite the fact that he didn’t tire quite as much as when he was alive.
Once this small conversation was over, though, he turned back to his mother and the news of his father demise struck him once again and he held his breathe while his heart skipped a beat. He didn’t really listen to her telling him and Komatsu had things in common, he was still sore he decided to become one with that disgusting Christopher and because of that he wasn’t really open to forgive his brother just yet. Apparently his father had been gone for quite a while now, but how? Why? And Tomoroko wasted no time in explaining and what she said next hit him even harder than Rutattsu’s Rebellion Spear empowered by the Kaioken.
The saiyan’s eyes were locked onto his mother as she told him her tale and when she got to the part he used the Kaioken up to one hundred times, Nasu gulped and the shocked expression on his face couldn’t be hidden.
”W-what?! One hundred times?! T-that’s insane! Even I can only hold it up to ten times!” and without realizing it, he revealed he had also dominated the Kaioken technique after his training, or something way too similar to that at the very least. To think that Natto even managed to summon a power so intense and absurd just showed Nasu that even though he believed to have far surpassed his father, he was wrong. In terms of sheer will-power and willingness to break his limits, Natto was still worlds above him and that made him feel small and pety. ”Dad… How can you do that?... Why?...” he asked himself in the intimacy of his mind. And that was how he was gone, erased from existence itself, because one thing Nasu knew: if your spirit is destroyed, you are gone, there are no second chances, no second afterlife to go.
The body is a shell in order to protect the spirit, and that’s what make the likes of Nasu, Tomoroko, Jarvis and even Cornatto fearsome: because they can recreate this shell in a world they are supposed to be nothing but vulnerable spirits.
Nasu’s heart was beating fast and soon he tightened the grip on his folded arms and gritted his teeth hard, but then he closed his eyes shut and sighed deeply and then returned to a more serious expression. His heart was in pain, but he knew that one heart was bleeding way more than his own and he needed to do something about that.
He slowly walked towards Tomoroko and, against all odds, he embraced her, hugging her tightly and pressing her head against his chest while he leaned his own cheek against the top of her head. ”I had no idea. I’m sorry mother. It’s also my fault he is gone… I was too blind by my own ego… All this time.” he said and with that, he sighed deeply and closing his eyes once again, he spoke a bit louder, to Cornatto. ”You can keep that fight you mentioned for yourself. I don’t feel like fighting anyone now. I have more important things to do now. And I have to atone for what I’ve caused.” and for once, Nasu was letting go of his pride, his warrior’s spirit in order to be there for someone else.
He was being a true king, even if not as much of a saiyan one now.
It was easy to tell what Cornatto was feeling... the man was usually so happy go lucky, nothing in the world ever seemed to bother him even when things were at their worst. Now though he just looked, blank. She knew he was hurting from the revelation she had just made and she couldn't help but break eye contact with him, sucking in a deep breath as she looked up to the orange skies above in an attempt to fight her tears back into her eyes.
She would look back towards Nasu when he exclaimed that even he could only get up to times 10 of the Kaioken and that's when Tomoroko felt completely defeated, a hundred percent useless. Nasu knew the Kaioken... Cornatto, Galen, Chris... All of these warriors were learning how to achieve such great leaps in strength but not her... Nope, the great and powerful Tomoroko was going backwards! She was becoming weak, useless and incapable of helping anyone let alone the Supreme Kai's! Natto would have been more suited to it... Maybe if she had told the Kai's to take him on instead of her she wouldn't have lost him. This definitely wasn't Nasu's fault as he claimed... it was her own.
She opened her mouth to say something, to apologize to Nasu whenever the boy seemed to just grow angrier with the situation. Though to her surprise Nasu came up and put his arms around her, holding her tightly against him and that's all it took... Tomoroko let out a light gasp as her sadness came boiling over, her eyes sprung like focets as she buried her face against Nasu's shoulder to muffle the sound of her crying. Her arms would reach around him and cling to her son tightly as she couldn't help but let out the sad part of her that had been feeling guilty all of this time... the part of her that blamed her for everything, his loss, her failure as a warrior, as a mother... her inability to tell her own children that they would never see their father again... that death really could be permanent after-all.
"I'm sorry Nasu!" She cried, not specifying exactly what she was apologizing for... she was sorry for so much she couldn't even begin to list it off.
It felt like an eternity that she just clung to her son, wishing that he would allow himself to cry as well, to let his feeling show just a little bit more... but even this, this moment meant more to her than any of them possibly realized. Deep down inside her heart it had placed the first few stitches into her broken heart. Finally, Tomoroko would start to call down, taking in one deep breath after another as she untangled her arms from around him, reaching up to pat Nasu's head much like she did when he was younger. She would then lean forward and gently kiss his forehead, forcing up a smile onto her lips even though her face was still stained with tears.
"This... none of this is your fault... Nasu. If I... If I could have just a fraction of the strength he did... I would have done the same thing. No matter what you do, no matter how much you try to push us away.. you'll always be our son, and we will do absolutely anything to keep you safe." She would say as she finally brought her arm up to her eyes, wiping away the tears with her wrist guards so she didn't look quite so pathetic in front of the two men any longer than she had too. With another deep breath she would look back to Cornatto, then back to Nasu and staring him dead in the eyes.
"Anything you need to do in the living world... you're going to have to entrust to someone else Nasu. There's nothing more important than the fight Cornatto's talking about. If we don't win... our whole universe is gone, it'll be completely erased." She said as seriously as she could, finding it strangely easy to move away from the topic of Natto's death now. Was this really all it took? The forgivness of her family for having failed them so hard? She honestly thought NAsu would have taken this the hardest but he somehow was the one to start healing her..

It was difficult to understand just how painful the Saiyan felt at the moment, no matter how powerful he had already become or at what grade of Super Saiyan he might have ascended, he felt as if a part of his own heart had been ripped apart. He had sure become disappointed that he hadn’t gotten to meet Natto at first, but to learn of the exact reason of his absence was indeed something that harmed the Saiyan’s spirit. Something that he had long since had to rely on since his death and the one thing that remained within him other than what looked like a body but was nothing more than a physical feature of his existence.
Somehow Corn couldn’t help but wonder if even this wasn’t his fault; that he hadn’t been there for what Natto had struggled so much to force himself out of and lend a hand to his offspring. The Earthling Saiyan wasn’t even there for the events, and yet, he felt like he had partially caused all of this, because maybe, if only he had been there, perhaps things could have been different. From Etorin’s rule to today’s situations-- probably if the man had stayed for the Alliance and Earth, things would have been different, but he had given up on that to raise his daughter.
Not like much could be done, what had not happened was nothing more than just a little ‘what-if,’ and in the end, the present was the way fate had left them. For the warriors to fight for their existence and if they didn’t, disappear forever with the entire planet, galaxy, universe. Cornatto was nothing more than one of the warriors selected, but at the same time, his power was nowhere as big as Natto’s just yet. His friend would have indeed made the ultimate team member, but if he were there to fight, then Cornatto would have also had to fight for his will, too. There was one thing both Natto and Corn had in common other than their kindness and it was their fighting spirit, whether it to be for those they cared or to transcend their limits.
He was sure that Nasu too shared such a spirit, although he had turned to become quite a great King and, son also. Why the latter? It was a surprise for Cornatto to behold the sight of Nasu embracing his mother, it was so tender that it had almost struck him too as his conflicted expression softened, and he cracked a faint smile on his lips. Perhaps both in awe and happiness that the two seemed to be getting on good terms, even after what had happened with Tomo’s lost-- both of her husband and her power.
The man let his eyes shut for a moment as he collected his thoughts, he couldn’t quite help himself but just do that, perhaps as if at least closing his eyes would also help him feel a little bit of inner peace from the whole situation. It was so difficult to believe that his friend was gone but he couldn’t even grief over a body or anything else that’d remind him of his memory; he was erased. Which was what would have happened to them if they weren’t to win.
“One hundred times… Heh. You have caught me off guard, in the end, Natto. I thought that maybe, in death, I would have had a chance to fight you again. Not to settle the score but… I just wished to battle you one more time. No matter how strong you had become, or how much I had slacked and become weak. But, one day, I had sworn to myself that we would have fought on pair… if you were still there, maybe it’d come true, not now but surely with how strong I am becoming, it’d have happened but now that day will never come,” - the man spoke in his mind. Perhaps in the slightest spark of hope that somehow Natto would have received his speech, that maybe he could still hear them, apparently it was nothing but faith. A dream, something that would live in a person’s mind and heart but not all goals were possible, not even with the Dragon Balls.
“Hey Natto… Can you see them? Hehe, they are so adorable! Maybe it was a long time coming, but your wife has given birth to some incredible kids, they have busted through any wall that I may have expected them to face. To think that you’d even keep up and become stronger than them even while dead, though. Heh… I can’t say much. I regret how I have handled those years, if only I could go back, I’d do everything differently,” - the man’s fist tightened harshly against his skin. His nails pressed hard against his iron-like skin that was built with his history of combat and training, but it was nowhere the same as when he had first trained under the Alliance. After his slack, after all the time he had lost and the strength he had initially burned but then recovered, he felt like he could have been so much more than what he currently was but that it wasn’t too late.
That was also what drove him to get stronger. It was almost like all those years of training would weigh on him, but not as small weights but actual power, as if he had potential that could quickly burn and produce immense power. It was how he had felt ever since he had trained with the previous Turtle Hermit and gained mastery of his ki and spirit. He felt more of a Saiyan than ever, but he couldn’t quite muster out all of that power which stayed dormant within himself. He had already felt it. It was when he had first unleashed his full Super Saiyan Two power that he had sensed something more profound within himself, it was the third level of the legendary transformation, but he couldn’t bring it out quite yet.
He could almost feel how Tomo did, but at the same time, he wasn’t that frustrated. He was excited. He couldn’t wait to unleash all of his power at once and feel the greatest he ever did in his life, but the more time passed, the more he discovered that there were so many amazing guys that he couldn’t help but wonder, what would come after Super Saiyan Three? It was evident that his base form needed to be better shaped into what would have turned him to break his limits.
Of course, he couldn’t just tap into Super Saiyan Four, for one reason in particular; he didn’t have a tail, but even there, it was not different from Super Saiyan Three. It wasn’t what Cornatto was looking for anymore-- not after he had tried out the God of Destruction and lost that quickly, not to mention now that he learned of the immense power that Natto had managed to use to break free from the Afterlife Barrier.
But, what could even get to reach those two’s powers? No, probably not a Super Saiyan Five, there had to be something more that Cornatto was missing in his view of things but he’d have inevitably discovered it soon enough. “If only you’d still be here, at least I could have an idea, Natto, but no matter what, even if we won’t fight anymore, I will reach you, my friend. I will go even further beyond than that,” - the man paused his trail of thoughts ever so slightly to lift his gaze and ease his grip as he let opened his eyes and let his dark orbs wander in the sky. “I sure will, hehe… Goodbye, Natto.”
In his mind, he voiced one last word to a possible presence of Natto that didn’t even exist, but such thoughts at least kept him calm as he felt his chest weightless for a moment and finally let his memories of Natto slide back where they were. Even because, if he didn’t, he’d maybe go crazy or something! That would be so weird.
The man soon snapped out of his thoughts as Nasu aimed a reply at what he had hinted at earlier but that left the Turtle Hermit to return to his goofy manners as the man gasped and quirked an eyebrow.
“E-eeh?! Wait a moment! It’s true that I wouldn’t mind either way-- more strong guys for me. But in this case, we need ya’ Nasu! You see, Lagerus-sama selected me to pick members for a tournament between our universe and another; the losing universe will be completely erased. We’ll stop existing,” - said Cornatto, hopefully, he wouldn’t have questioned it too much. “She told me to recruit you and some of the other strong people out there. I know that, well, you and I have never been buddies, Nasu. But we are both two of the last remaining Saiyans, and I am sure that we may never get along,” - the man paused a little to giggle softly with a smirk on his face as the man rubbed the back of his neck before he sighed and regained his composure and stared at Nasu. “But, we must do this. Do it for your dad and your Kingdom. I’ll also do this for my friends… and to test my strength. There will be lots of incredible guys there, but I am sure that we can win!”
The Earthling Saiyan knew that Nasu would have joined no matter what, if he were a King, he’d have done it to protect his kingdom, and if he indeed were a Saiyan, he’d have joined either way.
“No flight, no items or weapons. To win, you either knock your opponent out of bounds or kill them. Those are the rules. The best fighter also gets a wish from the Super Dragon Balls.”
The man calmly explained the rules to his friends and then just shut his mouth for the next moments as he hoped for a positive response from his friend, he did expect him to join, but whether Nasu did or not, he also had something else in mind. He still let Nasu give a response but shortly after, the Saiyan’s expression showed off a hint of seriousness in his words as he spoke up.
“That aside, though, there is one thing I wanna ask you, Nasu. I must understand something before the tournament, so I have a little request,” - the man switched into his fighting stance. “Fight me!”

How long has it been since the last time Nasu embraced his mother? The last few times they met he didn't show any sort of deep affection. Maybe when he was still a kid? Definitely never after he came from trying and conquering a planet, only to be scolded by both Natto and Tomoroko about his behavior being akin to the Empire and not the Alliance. It felt alien, it felt weird and at the same time it felt right, warm and nostalgic, enough to bring water to his eyes which, only by the sheer overwhelming power of his willpower didn't fell from his eyes, taking the form of tears, which was only made harder when she pat on his head like she did so many times when he was still a young kid. Tomoroko tried to shift the blame to her due to her lack of power, but he knew all too well that it was because she was a mother wanting to protect his kid from the pain, Kinoko had reminded him of that on how protective she was with their son. Speaking of which, Nasu just realized how much of a shitty father he had been, being overly harsh and furious with his son just because it reminded him of his dad and how different they were.
"You are not to blame mother, it was because of me, because of my problems with Kikiko, because of my unyielding rage and thirst for power and blood." Nasu was no longer a child and he wouldn't allow his mother to take the blame for his own faults. "I've been wrong regarding so many things that I'm even pushing my son away. I'm being a terrible parent even though I had incredible examples." he admitted with a long and painful sigh.
They separated shortly after that and Tomoroko said that he needed to answer Cornatto's call but still he shook his head, even though she said the universe would be erased, but that bugged him. "Erased? Does that mean everyone will die? Well... I'm already dead anyway..." but the concern seemed a bit out of place if that was the outcome of this so called battle, but then Cornatto began speaking again, prompting Nasu to stare back at him and like Tomoroko, he said they would stop existing. Nasu arched one of his eyebrows, intrigued by the statement. "What does that mean? Everybody will just be thrown into the afterlife, is that it?" he asked, unsure if that was the case.
As he continued to speak though, the prize was something that caught his interest: some sort of dragon balls. With them, just like Lettis did decades ago, he would be able to restore the saiyans and that was something quite amazing and something that would help him atoning for the wrongs of his past ways. "With that I can resurrect the saiyans... Okay, I'm interested now." he said, folding his arms in front of his chest. But then, to his surprise, Cornatto asked Nasu to fight him and that surprised him for a second, only for him to crack a smirk shortly after that.
"Fight you? Hahahaha! Okay Cornatto, you are way out of your league right now but I will do it, still... We won't really be able to call this a fight! And since I don't want to waste my time, I will go all out from the get go! Brace yourself!" he warned and, oddly enough, Nasu didn't seem to be bragging out of his pride alone, he could back it up. The saiyan clenched both of his fists as he started to channel all of his energy, tapping deep into the core of his godly ki, a mastery he had attained just a short while ago under the guidance of the former Demon King Mira.
"AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!" he shouted with all his lungs and as he did that his hair started spiking even though they were still pitch black. Then, he floated just for a bit as a thin blue aura involved all of his body and in the next second, a very bright light took over his entire body, blinding anyone staring directly towards it. His power spiked absurdly until it vanished completely, but the pressure, even to those who couldn't sense his godly ki was way too intense, unlike anything they ever felt before save for Lagerus herself.
After the explosion of light, his body was there completely enveloped by a godly blue light that started breaking down from his head to his toes. Nasu's hair was almost like his normal Super Saiyan form, only this time it was royal blue in color, just like his eyes. He cracked a smirk with the corner of his mouth as his transformation was finished and chuckled.
"I call this form Super Saiyan Blue. A simple name, but that's all that is simple about it." he said, chuckling once again.
Tomoroko and Nasu’s moment was quite beautiful, honestly. Cornatto was sure that Natto would have gladly watched it or been a part of it himself given he had always looked after his son with great care. It was quite a shame that the once Overseer of the Alliance had lost his soul forever, to the memory of time,
The Earthling Saiyan shook his head without too much of a response to his question. He did know that being erased could sound like death, Cornatto probably thought something like that himself but it had nothing to do with that, he wished it’d be like that. But unfortunately, each one of both Universes was actually at risk of erasure because of their mistakes or whatever. It didn’t matter now who did what, what mattered was that they could get to the end of this without actually losing their existence.
His brows furrowed ever so slightly to reflect the slightest hint of seriousness in the manner, evidently, something that perhaps was not so common with the Earthling Saiyan. He used to be that much carefree, that at times, it was hard to realize whether he’d be serious or joking, but at times like these, despite his excitement, one also had to consider his excitement given the fact that they could risk disappearing forever.
Cornatto, though, nodded his head. It was true that he could revive the Saiyan race with the Super Dragon Balls. By logic, the Earthling Dragon Balls could probably arrange that themselves. If these Dragon Balls were supposed to be rarer and even more ‘super’ than them, then it’d have probably been child’s play to revive the entirety of the warrior race.
“Yeah, we can probably revive the entire Saiyan race. Maybe even restore the Alliance’s planet-- I mean. I am not too sure how you guys are handling the whole thing! Being the Turtle Hermit and all, lots of other people, brought me back to Earth, so yeah. But hey, whenever either you or the Alliance needs help, you guys can count on me,” - he paused ever so slightly only to let out a chuckle. “Of course, as long as you don’t do bad stuff. But this time we’re facing something that is even farther above us than anything else we’ve ever had to deal with before!”
“No, Nasu. Death is what we’re into right now. Erasure means everything disappears, the Afterlife too. It’s… technically like what happened to Natto, by how your mother worded it. But to the entire Universe. Our home, friends, family, everything and everyone,” - the man said before his expression was overtaken by a grin and tightened his fighting stance. “There are going to be some great guys we're gonna fight. Whis-san couldn’t tell me much about them, but I am sure it’s gonna be amazing!”
Cornatto quirked an eyebrow. He didn’t actually expect Nasu to agree so easily to the fight, but if he was into it, hell yeah! Everything was going as planned, and if he could achieve what he had requested this fight for, then he guessed he could have slept soundly-- as in, not for the Tournament, but it was something that went beyond the whole point. Soon enough, the black-haired but shorter male began powering up, although, in a matter of moments, Corn noticed that he couldn’t sense any sort of energy from him but rather a sensation that almost made him choke on his own saliva.
It was incredibly powerful but he couldn’t actually sense power coming from the armored Saiyan, yet he could clearly feel himself to be speechless; he couldn’t find words to describe what he was feeling. He was sweating a little bit, his orbs trembled ever so slightly from the pressure as he was dumbstruck at what he was feeling. The man braced himself and roared out as he quickly turned into a Super Saiyan Two, with his hairstyle that immediately spiked up to a far wilder style than his base form hair, and his eyes were now teal-colored.
After his transformation, the Saiyan seemed to have regained his composure, evidently a lot calmer than before as he stared with a firm expression at the silhouette of Nasu which suddenly found itself wrapped by a bright, blue light. He watched the transformation process, now without a flinch until the blue that surrounded the armored Saiyan shattered and revealed the Saiyan’s new form; the Super Saiyan Blue.
[Super Saiyan Two Full Power [x32] | Power Level: 12.020.032]
“Super Saiyan Blue…”
The man repeated the transformation’s name in his head multiple times as he marked its letters deep within his mind as he couldn’t help but stare silently. The Earthling had felt something similar once, it was when he had fought Lagerus, although her force was above this form as well. He couldn’t sense his energy either, and yet, his arms were trembling, something he had taken note of only a few moments later as he lowered his gaze at his hands.
“I can’t stop shakin’... That must be his Saiyan instinct,” - the martial artist muttered under his breath until he dropped his arms to the side and eyed Nasu blankly until he lowered his head ever so slightly but his gaze didn’t falter at all as the man cracked a warrior’s smirk over his lips. “Not bad. I better be careful or this could get messy.”
Cornatto spread his legs wide open, as he lifted a half-clenched up to his face while he bent the other arm at a ninety-degree angle, completely closed as he placed it close to his hip. The Earthling Saiyan silently glanced at Nasu for a few moments until he took off from the ground and fired up his ki, flaring a golden aura around his frame as he left a bright trail behind him as he flew straight towards the Blue Saiyan.
Corn roared and launched his fist forth, aiming at Nasu’s face, which he would follow it with a barrage of hits. Cornatto didn’t expect to actually hit the Saiyan, at this point, he was mostly measuring himself against this new form that the King of all Saiyans had achieved.
