Galen had completed the training with King Kai and learned the secrets behind the technique his friend Christopher knew and they were absolutely impressive to say the least. On top of that he had the opportunity to train with his Master, Cornatto and to improve himself and regain his self-confidence. He felt like a warrior again, a capable one even though he knew he couldn't really compete with the saiyans in term of raw power. Now, they had this Tournament of Power to take care of, but Galen knew all too well that while they were away, his home would be vulnerable to the forces of evil. That was pretty much the reason he declined to take part in that competition and, on top of that, he knew that there were plenty of stronger warriors on the universe so that he wouldn't be really missed. Therefore and with a clear consciousness, Galen was flying back towards the check-in station so he could ask if it was possible for him to go back to life, explaining all his situation.
He wasn't sure it would work out, but he was at least hoping they would be willing to listen. However, before he could even reach halfway through the Snake Way, he saw a figure standing in the middle of the road, staring directly at him and that caught his attention. "Uhn?" he exclaimed as he made his light blue aura vanish and slowly hovered toward the road, where this elderly yet strong looking human stood.
As Galen landed, the man quickly greeted him with a polite bow. "Hello young man." and Galen, polite as he was, quickly replied with an even more respectful bow. "Hello mister, what are you doing in the middle of the Snake Way, if you don't mind me asking? Heading to King Kai's planet?" he innocently asked to which the man chuckled, cracking a gentle smile on his face. "Oh, I've been there a very long time ago. No, I'm not going there. I was waiting for you." the man's statement caught Galen off-guard and he couldn't hide the surprised look on his face as he pointed his index finger towards his own face, rather goofy. "Me?" and the elderly man chuckled once again while nodding. "Yes, you! Galen, the Towerkeeper!" and that was enough of a clue to indicate he truly knew who the swordsman was.
Galen scratched the side of his head, unsure on what to think and seeing that he was like that, the man was kind enough to explain to him what was going on. "My name is Mutaito and I was a martial artist of Earth a very long time ago. You might not know me, but my two disciples got themselves quite the name as the Turtle Hermit and the Crane Hermit." and upon saying that Galen's heart skipped a beat and he gulped with sweat running down his temples. "Y-you mean the legendary warrior who fought against one of the first demons who attacked mankind?! That Mutaito?!" and in contrast to the swordsman shock, the elderly man just smiled and nodded and thus he began telling him his whole story on how he became a martial artist, settled his school and fought Demon King Piccolo Daimao over one thousand years ago.
His tale was absolutely impressive and Galen was starstruck due to meeting such a legendary warrior of old. The tale took a little over an hour, but time flew so smoothly he didn't even notice. When Mutaito finished, he just exhaled deeply. "Wow! That's just impressive! And I mean no disrespect, Master Mutaito, but I felt connected to your tale, because I too stood against a demon threatening mankind and I fell." and when he started telling his tale, Mutaito nodded and interrupted. "I know, young Galen. You and Jie Shan stood alone against the King of Hell. I was quite impressed with your bravery and that's why I'm here." and when he said that, Galen narrowed his eyes. "What do you mean, Master?" he asked and Mutaito stood up again and turned around, starting to walk the Snake Way towards the check-in station.
"I decided I should pass on my knowledge to you. I know some techniques that may help you stand against the likes of Caesar." he said and Galen felt a bit divided; in one hand he liked that Mutaito believed in him, but on the other hand he had experienced fighting with Caesar with the help of a saiyan and even though they fought together they lost, so he didn't believe learning new techniques would help. Not even the Spirit Bomb may be enough against such a beast, but almost as if he was reading his mind, Mutaito spoke once again. "Victory is not only achieved by the most powerful damage dealing techniques, nor a valuable warrior is only measure by his brute strength. Come with me, boy, for you have much to learn." and with that incredible argument, Galen couldn't even contest and just nodded and followed Mutaito in silence.
The two walked for a while until he started flying high up into the pink skies of the otherworld, heading towards the upper realms, which some people called Heaven, the same place Galen was offered to go in case he didn't want to train with King Kai. He couldn't help but to feel rather curious about what those techniques were and, to be frank, most techniques he had learned were quite straightforward and combat directed.
His training was about to begun and his world would be expanded far beyond his comprehension.
