"Hmmmhmm, let's see, where am I, where am I~?" purple hair fluttered gently as cool breeze blew from the direction of the sea. A chic looking girl that normally not supposed to be around here somehow visited that place, the Korin's tower. The aura around her made her looks like a tourist. It kinda helped that she's dragging a big travelling suitcase. Inside? One might think that it's full of clothes or something else, but she admitted that inside probably more like treasure trove of cosmetics, hair extension, cute clothes and many more. Daily necessities? None at all, which is ridiculous.... Even so, those with more trained eye probably could see that she's an oddity, more than because her luggage or how she carries herself. It's more to her appearance. Her skin was way too pale, like someone who never came out--almost sickly pale even. Despite the temperature outside was quite warm, her temperature was even lower than the surrounding water. Yes, she's... a walking corpse, or so she would say. Even so, only those that touched her would know that, right?
"Let's see, let's see... have I visited this place before? Beat said that this place is called... Korin's Tower or something, right?" the girl muttered. "...It's tall, really tall... I don't get why someone like him loves to train in place like this... isn't it a hassle?" Alluca muttered. "Welp, boys will be boys, I guess! Let's see... maybe I can ask whoever here if they have met the guy... Gotta thank them for their hospitality to him. Can't imagine what would have happened if a kid like him fell from such height... Won't it hurts?
She steeled herself and approached the tower... not to to top itself though, but more to the base. "HELLOOO, anybody hereeee~?" she dragged her voice in purpose, hopefully catching attention of anyone that trained here. She wanted to make sure that she won't be treated as an intruder too. "Fumu... now to wait..."
Alluca gently laid her suitcase down and take out a foldable chair. If there are no one coming out soon, she guess she better call it quits and go home. The kids must be starving... ah, right, she is also starving. What would be good she wonder? Boar? Rabbit? Deer? Thoughts of venison steak made her drool... ah, deer it is! Yes, tonight they'll feast on a deer! WC: 399 Celerous

He’d felt the energy from a mile away. It was small, and insignificant compared to his own, but it far surpassed the Power Level of an average Earthling. Celerous allowed himself a sigh. It seemed that, day after day, he was chasing people away from Galen’s Tower and the Lookout above it. Who knew that, with Earth half dead, so many people would visit the ruined Northern Hemisphere. The Sacred Lands were nothing oogle anymore, having been reduced to nothing more than dead trees and browned grass.
And yet, for some reason, everyone and their mother’s still came to trespass on the land.
Sending people away from the Tower wasn’t even his job. Galen was the true Towerkeeper, not Celerous himself. Yet, with Galen missing (or more likely, dead) and Kami having seemingly vanished, someone had to step up and keep watch over the Earth and her people. That person should not have been Celerous Fark by any means. The hybrid carried a fraction of the power that the once great Earth Special Forces had, and if any true threat came to the planet, there would be nothing he could do to stop them from taking what they desired.
And yet, he stayed. For, if Galen and Kami were gone, then Celerous didn’t know who was left to defend the Earth in their place. Hell, for all he knew, there was no one. He certainly hadn’t met anyone capable of taking his place as Galen’s stand in. Not that he could truly call himself Galen’s stand in anyways. Oh sure, Celerous could keep an eye on the Sacred Lands and chase off trespassers, but Galen’s duties went much further than that, and Celerous hadn’t a clue as to how to fill those.
The Karinga Tribe, the people Galen had once watched over, had all but vanished to the South, where the Earth’s bounty was still plentiful. The Senzu Bean sprouts, magical beans that could rejuvenate the flesh and soul, had died out months ago. Celerous had tried to take care of them, he really had, but it seemed his nineteen years of farming experience didn’t translate to growing magical plants that could heal all wounds. And despite searching high and low, Celerous hadn’t found a page of literature on how to take care of Galen’s sprouts.
Perhaps that was intentional. If Galen knew he was going to die, or disappear, or whatever, he probably would have hidden that knowledge, so that the evil forces that had gripped the Earth didn’t get their hands on his clutch.
And so, Celerous had relegated himself to being the Sacred Land’s security guard, and the Tower’s maid. The damn thing sparkled from base to peak.
It was when Celerous was in the middle of his sword training drills, when the power he felt had made a beeline for the Tower. He let out yet another sigh. He had been hoping that the individual would turn around, or just skirt the edges of the Sacred Land, but obviously that wasn’t going to be the case. He’d have to chase this person off, just like all the rest.
Why couldn’t everyone just leave Galen’s home alone?
Celerous had just sheathed his sword, and adjusted his weighted gi top, when the echoes of a voice far below resonated from around the chamber. At least this guy, or girl, hadn’t just barged into the Tower. Celerous hated when people did that. It was so rude.
As a response to the yelling below him, Celerous raised his power level in a quick flash, as an affirmation that someone was indeed “here.”
The hybrid then jumped out of the Tower proper, and soared to the ground below. As he approached the dead dirt below, he made out the figure of a small girl. She seemed young and unassuming, and had what looked to be like a suitcase behind her.
Great, another tourist.
Celerous made a big show of landing on the ground, letting his aura flare as it kicked up dirt and dead grass. He let his power die out, and crossed his arms as he leveled his gaze at the girl in front of him.
“The Towerkeeper isn’t in currently. You’re trespassing on the Sacred Land, beneath Galen’s Tower and Kami’s Lookout. If you have a purpose here, I’ll hear it. If you’re just touring, please leave.”
Celerous tried to make his tone kind and chiding, rather than annoyed and scathing, but in truth he was sick of people traipsing around the grounds below the tower.
WC: 757 Celerous unsuppressed his power upon Alluca’s arrival to the base of the tower.

...Who in their mind have really rude way to tell that they're there? She honestly can't believe what she's experiencing at the moment. Instead of answering in the way like normal human that they're there, they raised their power level! That would make a vampire like her salivate from such high reading! Who is this!? Seriously, who is this!? He's even stronger than the half saiyan Beat! Nice looks by the way, but for Alluca at the moment, he's like... a really huge slab of steak walking toward her. She know she's severely outclassed, but c'mon... this seriously is delicious you know?
...Unfortunately for onlooker, a girl salivating while looking at a guy, enough for it to trickle on her mouth slightly... would look really perverted, right? Imagine it, someone with huge, well built body, and there's this girl that seem to salivate upon his sight, although it was because he looked like a walking premium grade wagyu steak for her.
"...A-Ahem!" the girl cleared her throat to stop herself from drooling even further. Bad Alluca, bad! Not everyone is your food! They're human--human... yeah, human... mortal... eheh, food. No! "...Hello, but I'm not really a tourist. That was a bit rude of you though! I mean, I come here with some offering, a thank for hospitality so to say! There was a boy that came here few months ago, right? Ummm, how does he look... red hair, with mohawk, but with the sides not completely shaved? His gi is purple with black inner shirt. He often heads here to train, so I was wondering if there is someone here who helped him to train you know? He's a nice blo--I mean, friend! Yes, friend! You can say that I'm someone like his big sister? Well, we're not related by blood, though..."
...Still, to prove her ingenuity, she took out a huge bento box, the kind that you see when you're going for ohanami. She opened it one by one, revealing various homemade dishes. Most of them are made from wild games, but it should be noted that her technique wouldn't lose to a first class chef. Perhaps cooking was her calling, perhaps it's just hobby. But at any rate, the dishes that lined in front of the man perhaps cooked just about few hours ago. It could be assumed that she's really preparing this specifically for the person that guarded this tower. Without even minding his reaction, she would unfold picnic carpet and laid the food there, also some teas as refreshment.
"Well then, would you like to have a picnic?"
...The leap of logic was amazing, but this is how the vampire-- Alluca Arcus rolls.
"There's no need for the scary face or unfriendly attitude. They're not poisoned or spiked, I assure you that!"
...Had she know that she would find such a fine specimen of a morsel, though, she probably would put some form of sleeping drug just for a taste of his blood--but that probably a bit too direct. She learned from the time she made bad first impression with Beat. WC: 515 TWC: 914
When the petite girl started drooling in front of him, Celerous honestly didn’t know what to do. Did he smell like food or something? Or… or was she one of Rukia’s little bloodsuckers? The first one he could deal with, but the second one? He’d kick her all the way back to West City. He’d had his fill of Vampires back on Namek, and he’d only met the one. Still, despite his hesitation, Celerous made sure he didn’t jump to a conclusion just yet.
Though he really wished she’d wipe up that drool. He didn’t know how to tell her without sounding rude, though.
Thankfully, she caught on to her predicament, and wiped the saliva from her face. With the clearing of her throat, the girl tried to assert herself, which only made Celerous raise an eyebrow. She made a fuss about thanking him for something, or offering something, but Celerous tuned it out. Most people tried to blabber their way out of trouble when he caught them too close to the Tower. At this point, Celerous was a pro at sniffing out liars.
Which is why, much to his surprise, this girl didn’t ring any alarms in his head. She didn’t claim to be a tourist, yet she carried a suitcase. Somehow, though, she seemed genuine to Celerous. That was a new one for him. Most people he ran into up here were looking to either pilfer the Tower (assuming they could actually reach the top), or were looking to raid what little supplies the Karinga Tribe had left behind.
As the girl rambled on about some red headed kid she knew, and image sprang to Celerous’s mind. That kid’s name… What was it? Beef? No, Beat, it was Beat! He vaguely recalled showing the kid a few moves, though nothing as substantial as proper training. Celerous had felt the kid’s energy as he had approached the Tower, but stopped himself from interfering as the younger hybrid started climbing the base. He’d climbed his way up, without the use of Ki Flight, just as Celerous had with Galen so many months ago.
Though it was stupid to let him continue, and disrespectful to Galen’s memory as well, Celerous had convinced himself to let Beat climb to the top. He gave the kid a few pointers, a meal, and then sent him on his way. When he returned to the Sacred Land to train on a few other occasions, Celerous didn’t head out to meet him, nor did he chase him away. Much to his own surprise, he actually found himself comforted by the presence of another Human/Saiyan hybrid.
But then the kid had vanished, and Celerous’s memory of him had bled into the background of the last four months, just as his caretaking of Galen’s Tower had.
“Yeah,” Celerous started slowly, “yeah the kid was around here a bit. I’m not sure what you’re thanking me for though. I didn’t really do much.”
Celerous didn’t have anything to pass on to the kid, not like Galen had with him. Galen had trained him in the Kikoukenjutsu Style, but Celerous didn’t offer Beat anything like that. For one, he didn’t have Galen’s blessing to impart his sword skills to others, but even if he did have his blessing, Celerous wasn’t well versed enough in the style to teach others anyways.
All in all, he didn’t really feel like he was owed a thank you.
But then the girl whipped out a bento box, and Celerous felt his stomach growl. When was the last time he ate? Sometime yesterday? He’d been busy trying to catch back up on his training, and applying the second layer of wax to the Tower’s upper floor, that he must have forgotten to cook himself some dinner. Or breakfast. So, maybe just this once, he’d accept this gift he didn’t deserve. After all, his mother had taught him to never let food go to waste.
So a picnic it was.
“Yeah,” Celerous rubbed the back of his head sheepishly, “I guess I do owe you a bit of an apology. Sorry, I’m just so used to people coming up here to rummage through the Karinga Tribe’s stuff, or to try and mess with the Tower.”
The fact that the girl specifically mentioned the food not being poisoned, made Celerous think that it might actually be poisoned. But he decided to take a chance, and give this girl the benefit of his doubt.
“If you’re still inclined to share it with me, I’d be delighted to have a picnic with you.”
He could use the company, anyways. WC: 771 TWC: 1528
Oh my, did he caught on quick? The shift on the mood was enough for Alluca to consciously suppress her bloodsensing prowess... even so... dangit, how could she resist those thick neck that just begged to be bitten? Thick as it is, many vampire probably would be turned off, but in her case, she prefer some resistance. The thicker the better, enough to stop her fang midway, but enough to draw blood, ah-- no, Alluca, stop, don't think about food! You're hungry, yes, but don't be rude! Don't ask people if they want to donate blood too! Don't reach to your suitcase to get your empty blood pocket out! Dangit! Why is it so hard for her to keep her thoughts straight!? She had turned off the sense too! Don't tell her it's because she's hungry!? Or because she already dead set locked on this guy as a meal!? Oh, dangit! Luckily, she didn't expose the blood pocket, mainly because her hand only partially reaching to her suitcase.
"Ahahaha~"
Yes, she tried to hide her nervousness from her suspicious action by laughing and tried to look like a proper lady. It honestly, has failed so bad that it's not even funny. There's this massive desire for her to go "orz" right here and now. Even so... that would make her labelled strange, right?
"Oh, um, are you interested in my suitcase? Did you think I'm a tourist thanks to this? Well, you see, you can say it's all just treasure trove of a girl, you know?" to lessen the suspicion, she unzipped the suitcase and showed him the content. Yes, a treasure trove of a girl indeed. Inside are lot of clothes, cosmetics (mostly this), hair extensions and some some more stuff. It's literally a walking wardrobe, only packed in such way that make it compact. However... what he wouldn't know is this suitcase have "Secret room" to hide blood packs. It's animal blood, but still blood nonetheless.. Oh, empty blood packs are on the outermost part of this secret room... mainly to not freak people out. Even so, she guessed that anyone would be freaked out if a girl suddenly ask if they want to donate blood (for her meal).. or if she can buy their blood.
"Oh, looks like I hit the right guy!" Alluca chirped "I think he said he's going to Bris, you know, that Beat. His spacepod apparently programmed to go to Bris. I dunno how he ended up, but I sure hope that he met his mother. Most of the refugee gone there, right? Come to think of it, people are slowly returning... I wonder what's wrong. Earth is half dead, but they're returning. Is the queen alright or has she find some way to restore the earth? At any rate, thank you for believing me! Here, what would you like to eat first?"
The vampire offered some rice balls with some side dish. A lot of thoughts gone to the bento box, that much is obvious. It's very nutritionally balanced, and definitely suited for people with huge appetite. However, if she could be honest, she did not expect for the one helping to be entirely- entirely just one person! But even so, this guy... he... doesn't feel entirely an earthling.
"Oh? Karinga tribe? What are those?" she honestly asked "...and what is in the tower anyway? Honestly, if they don't have any clothes that I can buy or something like those, I'm not even interested to do anything to them. I'm not a barbarian trust me. I'm just a funny... girl who loves good food, good talk, and good friends~"
...She nearly slipped and outed herself as a vampire there. Luckily she called people with "friends" this time around instead of "bloodkin" otherwise that won't go well at all.
...By the way, by this point Celerous might noticed that the dishes that normally got garlic on them completely devoid of them. At most it's onion, but garlics... completely absent. Looks like in her absentmindedness, she did not expect for someone to know about vampire to be here.
Celerous was definitely starting to have second thoughts about this girl. At first she seemed genuine and nice, if maybe a little quirky. But now it seemed like she had a screw, or ten, loose in the head. She was staring at him like he was a piece of meat, dammit! And though, by a loose technicality he was meat, that didn’t mean he was meat meant for eating! Something was definitely up with this girl, and it honestly kind of worried him, despite her miniscule power.
After all, she could have been suppressing that. He didn’t think it was likely, but it remained within the realm of possibility nonetheless. He also didn’t know what kind of Martial Arts training this girl had, if any. Though honestly, if he power really was this low and wasn’t being suppressed, the chances of her having any form of professional training was slim to none. Hell, Cel himself was almost ten times as strong as she was now, before he received his formal training from Galen.
When the loli mentioned her “treasure trove,” Celerous had no interest in seeing what was actually inside it. Bully for him, then, that she decided to pry it open and show it off to him anyways. Of course, Celerous had absolutely NO CLUE as to what any of the crap in the suitcase was. He noticed some cosmetics that his mom kept back on the farm, but he still hadn’t an inkling as to what they actually were, or how they were used.
He kinda wished the girl would close her suitcase, and get to the food part. As rude as it might seem, that was the only thing he was interested in at this point. That, and deducing if this girl was, in fact, a Vampire. He still didn’t like the way she had eyed his neck.
Celerous let his train of thought be derailed, as the girl brought up the fragile state of Earth. Considering the their dead surroundings, the hybrid was pretty sure he could say with certainty that, no, the reigning “Queen” hadn’t quite come up with a way to restore the Earth. But what did he know? He stopped paying attention to the political stage of the planet after Queen Rinako was killed by the Saiyan Galactic Alliance.
And then this very… eccentric girl derailed his thoughts for a second time, by finally unveiling the meticulously wrapped bento she had offered him. He took the offering from her, giving her a brief “Thank you,” before beginning to devour the, admittedly, very delicious food. It was in the middle of pondering how a bento could be so tasty, that Celerous realized that he hadn’t eaten a properly cooked and seasoned meal in months. He mostly made do with simple vegetables he grew in his garden, along with whatever Legate brought back from his hunts.
At the mention of the Karinga Tribe, Celerous stopped inhaling his food, and wiped the back of his mouth with his hand. He swallowed the food in his mouth, as his mother had at least taught him some manners, and opened his mouth to speak.
“You don’t know of the Karinga Tribe? Well, I guess I can tell you about them. They’re a tribe of people that, until recently, lived here below the Tower with the blessing of the Towerkeeper. In fact, it’s the Towerkeeper’s job to keep watch over the Karinga people.”
Celerous stopped himself for a moment, before frowning.
“Of course, with the Earth in the state that it’s in now, the Karinga Tribe have been forced to migrate South. I’ve been keeping an eye on them, but it’s a little harder to do when they’re so far removed from the Tower itself.”
Celerous stroked his goatee for a moment, pondering to himself just how much information he should give this girl about Galen’s Tower. It wasn’t exactly information to divulge, but he figured telling her a little bit of general knowledge wouldn’t hurt. So long as he didn’t mention the Senzu Beans, the Earth’s best kept secret, Galen probably wouldn’t mind.
“Uh, the Tower definitely doesn’t have a store. I can assure you of that. It’s basically… It’s kind of like a home for the Towerkeeper, so that he can live near the Karinga Tribe and on the Sacred Lands, and uphold his duty. Back in the day, visitors to the Sacred Lands used to scale the Tower, without the use of Ki Flight, in order to receive a boon from the Towerkeeper. In fact, I scaled it myself once. Your friend Beat did as well, though, he didn’t pick the best time to do it.” WC: 780 TWC: 2308
"Not quite the talker, are you?" Alluca commented, trying to smile in what she assumed to be a friendly smile. Luckily, she is right on this one. Her smile looked like those of a normal girl of her age. "Or is it that you're too hungry to talk?" at least she hope that it's either of the two. She don't mind, of course... but she sincerely hope that he's just a socially awkward guy or just too busy with the thought of food rather than a possible hostility. She closed the suitcase just in case that he got uncomfortable...or maybe uninterested. Well, that's fine, to each and their own she guess.
"Ah, it's kind of rude of me, but my name's Alluca, Alluca Arcus, nice to meet you."
...Nice to "meat" you instead maybe? Alluca, stop thinking about food so much. She guessed if she got hungrier than this, it's best to just came out directly in front of this guy as vampire. Clearly she can no longer keep her cool with the thought of premium quality blood in front of her. Yes, she can't defeat him, not now, not in a week, not in a month. Well, probably in a few month but she's not interested in getting stronger. She's simply a gourmet at heart, a gourmet who would love to taste all blood of her "bloodkins", or better said, "friends".
The way the older(?) guy ate her food however was very charming. This time, instead the hungry stare that she gave him few seconds ago, Alluca's gaze softened into those of a more motherly way. She giggled at how he seem to just eat and eat. "The food won't go anywhere, you know?" she pointed out the obvious. "So just take it easy. Here, a napkin." What with boys and their love to wipe their mouth with whatever available? She can't help but to take note to those. Why don't they just use napkin? But that sort of roughness is their charm, she guessed.
Her face gone blank however when he talked about there are no shop up there. She immediately exploded in laughter at that.
"Oh boy that was riot! If there are shop on top of that thing I've probably seen a lot of airships already! Oh dear... I meant it to be a joke! Ahahaha! That was the best! But really, I don't meant to defile anything. I'm seriously here just to thank whoever here for that guy really, so don't worry... Although honestly some food would be nice, but I won't take anything without proper give and take really. Anyway, back to the topic... Hmm, so they're tribe that used to live around here? I kind of want to see just how good their fabrics are. A pity that the disaster happened, huh? A lot of life lost, a lot of building destroyed... and I guess it's affecting the planet too. Even so, are you this place's guardian? Normally, people would immediately move away from this half dead earth in look for new planet. It ain't farfetched, I guess, with how advanced technology nowadays... Oh, wait, you did refer the towerkeeper in third person... so that's not you... are you just some kind of the housesitter or something? That's quite admirable."
...Housesitter sounds a bit rude, but she can't find another word to describe it.
"...Ah, well... By the way, pardon beforehand, it's time for me to take a bit of my med."
...yes, she can't hold it back anymore. With how much she's salivating, her stomach growled in protest for luxurious blood. No matter how much she eat normal cooking, they don't really fill her up. Only blood does. But this man probably gonna punt her to the other side of the world if she brazenly asked him for his blood, so with no choice... she'll just settle for a... tomato juice pack. She popped in some iron supplements inside and shake it. What, did he thought that she'll take a blood pouch? Not so fast, seriously. She'd rather be discreet about it. Alluca popped the straw part open and drink it. It's not blood, but at least this could hold back a bit of her craving... something like a vapor cigarette compared to real one.
"...Oh, that's right, he did said that he's climbing there... so it's how the training was? Just climbing to the top? No holy water or anything like that?" she asked curiously.
Well, the girl was right. Celerous wasn’t much of a talker. He preferred action to empty words and posturing; a preference the rest of the Universe didn’t seem to share, if his experiences on Namek were of any indication. That, and in the past few months, he hadn’t exactly had many people to share a conversation with. Legate was anti-social at best, and Aya… Well, the less said about her the better. Either way, most of Celerous’ days passed in silence, as he carried out his duties to the Earth.
Though, the way he practically inhaled the girl’s bento probably didn’t do him much credit either.
As the girl introduced herself, Celerous stopped to gulp, swallowing the load of food that had filled his mouth. Alluca Arcus? Talk about alliteration. Still, it sounded better than “Celerous Fark.” Celerous didn’t even know where his last name had come from.
He had just opened his mouth to make a comment on her name, whether a joke or something else he wasn’t quite sure yet, when the girl began to ramble on about her comment about the Tower containing a gift shop. Celerous almost felt kind of stupid, once she told him that she’d been making a joke. Oh well. He at least had an excuse: he’d grown up away from the big cities, and therefore missed out on socialization, for the most part. Farming for nineteen years tended to do that to a person.
And then, she kept rambling on about new stuff. It as almost ironic, how she noted that Celerous himself was quiet, yet she didn’t actually give him a chance to speak. At some point, she got onto the topic of the Karinga Tribe’s fabrics, and what they were like (they were really nice, and Celerous might have asked for some new threads from them, had he thought it an appropriate time to do so). He quickly racked his brain to see if he could recall and fabric the Karinga Tribe had left behind when they migrated South, but he came up with nothing.
She didn’t stop there, either. Before he could even give her an answer to her question about the fabric, she just jumped onto the next topic. Celerous forced his visage to remain neutral, but he was hoping he’d actually be able to open his mouth soon. Maybe he’d even get to say something.
He swallowed his annoyance quietly, making sure that he didn’t betray his thoughts to his visitor. He shook his head at her when she asked him if he was the guardian of this place. No, that title belonged to Galen. Celerous was just… filling in for a little while. Until Galen came back, or someone worthy of calling themselves the Towerkeeper claimed the position properly.
The girl finally ended her spiel (rant, ramblings, what have you) to sip some sort of beverage. The color of her chosen drink seemed to be red, which almost confirmed Celerous’ suspicions about what she was, until he noticed the consistency of the drink as she slurped it through her straw. It wasn’t nearly thick enough to be blood. Maybe kool-aid, or some sort of juice. And she did put some sort of supplement in it as well. Celerous was pretty sure blood didn’t need supplements, at least, not if it was being consumed.
But what did he know? The only thing he knew about Vampires was that he didn’t like the two he’d met.
“The training?” Celerous asked, before opting to speak once more, if only to ensure that Alluca didn’t go on another tirade and rob him of the opportunity to impart his words, “simple really. My Master taught me swordplay as my 'boon.' Unfortunately, I’ve neither the permission nor proficiency to impart my knowledge of the Towerkeeper’s swordsmanship to others. So we spared for a bit, before I advised him to head to Namek. If he did end up going, I’m sure he found a proper tutor there.”
Celerous then frowned. He’d never heard of this “holy water.” Or, at least, Galen had never mentioned it. For all Cel knew, maybe it was another Towerkeeper secret. Like the knowledge of how to care for the Senzu Bean sprouts. WC: 704 TWC: 3012
Well she might be an airhead, but at least she know that he doesn't seem to like her all that much. Oh well, that's a pity. Should she just drop her cover? Or maybe---wait! He heard him saying that he is some sort of martial artist? That would mean they can probably alleviate the mood with a bit of spar, right? She waited until he's done with the entire food.
"Hee, that sort of training huh... a sword fighter?" She wouldn't have guessed that the guy is a swordsman with that sort of body build. She had thought that he would be some other kind of martial artist, probably one that could destroy boulder with a flick of his finger from how solidly build he is. "...That's actually interesting. A swordsman huh..." Despite she's not a martial artist herself, she felt some certain affinity toward swords, or spears, or weapons in general. "Speaking of which, do you mind if we spar? I won't ask you to teach me about the swordsmanship of the towerkeeper, but I do feel like I need a bit of sparring."
She let him swallow the sudden information a bit. After a while, she continued "...I'm not a martial artist myself... but I think Beat have told you, but we got a group of kids with us. They're still very young, like, probably about 8 at the oldest. With that being said, I too lack the experience to teach them self defense. Hunting is easier, self defense meanwhile, probably going to be harder. That's why..." Alluca got up and condensed water particles on the air, creating sword from ice. "How about we spar? Of course I'll drop it if you don't want to, probably will leave too, as it seems I overstayed my welcome hmn?"
Then again, he might gonna point about her logical fallacy on the kids. Why not take them to West City? Now, as for that, she know how to answer: ...It's too suspicious for her liking.
It had been awhile since Cel had gotten into a good tussle. Legate wasn’t really one for sparring, and Aya only showed up to drive him up the wall, so almost all of Celerous’s physical improvement came alone, as he silently ran through his swordsmanship drills in the Tower. And even though this girl was nowhere close to his level of strength, at least not that he could tell, she’d still be an enjoyable sparring partner. Hell, at this point, Cel would have willing sparred with the Vampire from Namek…
...Actually, no, he wouldn’t. She still scared the snot out of him, and he had no doubt that she could kill him with her pinky finger.
As he finished up the Bento that he had been graciously provided, Celerous thought of a few possible drills to run Alluca through. He knew he should probably start small, and build up to a proper sparring match, if only to give the girl time to warm up. And he should probably stick to his fists for this one, lest he accidentally take off one of the girl’s arms. That wouldn’t be a pretty sight.
Any real Ki blasts were out of the question too. The Flare Fire, even fired at its weakest charge, would no doubt kill the girl outright. Having been occupied with practicing his swordsmanship, Celerous hadn’t found the time during his training to work on suppressing the power of his more advanced techniques. Even some of his more advanced physical combos would be too much for the girl to handle.
It was a shame, but Celerous would have to rely solely on simple strikes, and the odd Ki burst. That was, unless this girl in front of him was hiding some sort of huge power from him, but Cel doubted it. He could sense the energy below the surface of her skin, and while it far surpassed that of an ordinary Earthling, Celerous knew that even he wouldn’t have trouble handling the girl.
And he was far from an impressive specimen of power.
So he nodded to the girl, handing the bento box back to her, “thanks for the food. Yeah, we can do a little sparring. Not like there’s anything out here for us to disturb.”
Celerous waved his hand towards the dead landscape, barren of both flora and fauna. It was nothing short of tragic that the Earth had suffered such a fate, but at least Celerous didn’t have to worry about endangering anything or anyone. Except maybe the Tower, but Cel wasn’t sure if even he could bring the massive thing down, but he certainly wasn’t about to try. He jumped backwards with a double flip, landing on the ground with the Tower to his back. The hybrid lowered himself into one of the various fighting stances taught to him by his mother.
“Tell me, do you have any formal training under your belt? Have you learned from a proper master?”
The true mark of mastery of a martial artist was not whether or not they could blast you into oblivion; it was whether or not they could land a simple blow on an enemy that, for all intents and purposes, was their equal in power. Out matching an opponent like that, not through sheer power but through finesse, was the key to winning a fair fight.
For even a child could hurt someone with a gigantic Ki blast, should their power be great enough.
Knowing that, Celerous let out a breath as he forced his body to cede its power. He furrowed his brow as he gave Alluca a look over, not eyeing her physical features, but the spiritual that dwelled within. He dropped his power to match hers, making sure to mentally tally the adverse effects that his weighted Gi would have on his body, before nodding in satisfaction.
“If we’re gonna do this, then I need you to come at me seriously. For the time being, let’s leave Ki blasts to the side. Try to land a blow on me with your fists only!”
He didn’t mean to be rude, nor did he mean to have a lack of faith, but he was positive that this girl wouldn’t land a blow on him. They may have shared a similar power now, but like Cel had silently observed to himself earlier, his training would serve to far outmatch her. Suppressed Power Level: 1,800 Stamina: 3/3
Formal training? Strange question to ask when she just revealed that she got no formal training few moment before. "Beat did taught me a bit, but he's not a qualified master either. He taught me ki sense and a bit of ki training. I can form those ki balls thing, but in the end I'm more comfortable with my own brand of attack..." as she said this, she slowly condensed water particles on the air, then combines them into several ice shards that floats on the air. "Like these, you see?" They're blunted. Usually, she would make them as sharp as she can and shoot them at the target prey. Still, there's no need for that in here. "My own melee prowess is questionable, so I usually made sword of ice like this..." she gathered the ice shards into one detailed blade. "But if I really have to strike you barehanded, well... I guess we can play that game."
Alluca slowly took off the topmost layer of her clothes and her skirt, revealing what looks like modest looking sports bra and tights pair, both are black. She switched her shoes to one that allows better movement too. Looks like she's not here just to play around. Her stance is... right hand tucked back in what looked like how one would weld a spear while her left one on the front. The said left arm forms about fourty five degree angle. It looks like it's ready to chop or defend. "...You can say I have a bit case of amnesia, so I had no idea who am I, or if I really got training before... even if I do, I don't remember much about how to fight barehanded other than this. Make sure to remind me to get a pedicure after this, please~" she joked. Slowly, she closed her eyes. Slowly the girl inhaled, and then exhaled through her mouth. Instead of hot air, water vapor that came out from her looks like something that came out of fridge. Her lips parted. "...Lasyr aus izhn... ellu nel."
The moment she opened her eyes, it luckily still purple instead of red... yet the mood changed. The glint on the girl's eyes isn't the glint of someone being playful, no. It's a glint of someone ready to strike. An animal that only can be fight in a forced situation, like a situation of life and death, that was how her gaze looks like. Run is not an option. The only way is to fight. It's seem a form of self hypnosis that she used before a fight.
"Well then, please guide me."
The girl launched herself toward her opponent. To her, she felt her speed strangely sluggish. She goes in for a stab with her right arm. It's seem that she's not the type that uses her fists, but uses her nails for attacks instead. STA: 3/3 PL: 1792 ACT: Basic Melee attack (5%) -> 896
Hearing that Beat had pseudo-trained Alluca was a surprise to Celerous. The kid couldn’t be more than thirteen, or fourteen, and yet, he was taking on students? Celerous had to keep his smile to himself. The kid had ambition, Cel would give him that much. But ambition did not beget finesse, or mastery, and that was something that the hybrid had learned the hard way.
Ambition alone would only carry you so far in this life. Namek had made that all to clear. The Tree of Might had made that all too clear. The massacre of the Southern Islands had made that all too clear. And the slaughter of East City had made that all too clear. Celerous had been entirely powerless to stop all of it, even though he had tried his best.
Celerous shook his head free of those depressing thoughts, and instead focused on the fight at hand. He had to admit, he was both impressed and surprised at what he saw. The ice particles she had summoned could be pretty useful in a fight. He’d have to have her try those against him later. They would be great training for him; he needed to better learn how to deflect projectiles with his blade.
Aaaand now she had a sword of her own. That was cool, though, Celerous was worried that the brittleness of the ice would crack under any real pressure. Still, far be it from him to judge such a thing before he saw it in action. Mentally, he added it to the list. It had been awhile since he had a good sword spar anyways, so, ice or not, it would make for useful practice. And while he couldn’t teach Alluca the intricacies of the Kikoukenjutsu Sword Style, he could still teach her how to hold a blade properly.
When Alluca melted, or unsummoned, her frozen weapon, Celerous narrowed his eyes. Her attack was coming next, that much he knew.
Except that it wasn’t. Instead she decided to undress. Celerous averted his gaze for a moment, before peeking back. Much to his relief, the girl wasn’t going nude. She had just stripped her outerwear, leaving her in more practical fighting clothes. The hybrid could respect the change. Despite seeming green, she at least knew that fighting in casual clothes was a bit impractical.
Celerous almost blanched, when Alluca mentioned having amnesia. He couldn’t imagine what that must have been like. How could you go through life without knowing yourself? Without knowing what, and who, you were? It was even apparent in her stance: it was clearly a sophisticated style, but one that she lacked a familiarity with. Or rather, she had forgotten that familiarity.
It became even more clear to Celerous, as he tucked his leg inward, mirroring his footwork with a blade even though he wasn’t holding one, and avoided her nailed strike. The form itself was sloppy and untrained, yet showed promise. A forgotten promise, one that had once held some prospect of mastery, but had vanished long ago.
This girl hadn’t just forgotten who she was, she had forgotten even the things most ingrained into her being. She could mimic the stances, but she couldn’t execute the blows. Celerous found that heartbreaking.
Distracted by her… unusual situation, Celerous delivered a weak chop to her collarbone. It lacked the usual strength of his blows, even lacking his sword, but it would still serve to prove a point: Alluca had left him an opening.
“Keep your guard up, and don’t overextend. You already have the fundamentals down, but it seems you need some retraining. My best guess, is that it’s one of those things affected by your amnesia…”
He thought for a moment. Maybe he could jostle her memory?
“I’ve changed my mind…. Come at me with your best. Whatever that means, Ki Blasts, punches, ice swords- it doesn’t matter. I want you to try and land a serious blow on me.”
Celerous did a back jump away from Alluca, and drew his sword, expecting an onslaught. WC: 674 TWC: 4,420
Alluca managed to dodge against the chop, using the arm as a vaulting bar instead and leaped past Celerous. It feels weaker. Is it because he is holding back? Quite gentlemanly.
Everything? He want her to came to him with everything she have? For a moment her mind flashed to her bloodfrenzied form, only for her to gag at the thought of returning to such primitive form. At the very least, she know that she would have to give her all though, because he's asking after all right? "...Well, then, very well..." The girl's eyes turned deep crimson, too deep crimson for the contact lens to hide. Slowly, her form morphed until half of her body covered by thin fur... fur of a bat. Her nails elongated into claws and her legs slowly morphed into more like a talon. Wings spread on her back. Yes, her form is now those of similar to a cross between human and bat. A vampire.
"You asked me to come at you seriously, didn't you? I hate to be a mindless beast, but this much is acceptable I guess..."
Rising from the ground is small pool of blood that slowly solidified into intricate spear, crimson in color. The blood magic instead ki, its seem.
"Well, then, shall we go on the formalities again? Alluca Arcus, age, probably fifteen, or maybe hundreds. Occupation, jobless. A vampire, as you can tell. I'll fight you with all my strength, as you told me. I'm sure you can handle me though."
...The problem with this form is she's getting hungrier for blood the more she transformed. This is bad. This is not even her bloodfrenzied form but already she's feeling thirsty? She need to at least put up a good fight before she lose her own ego and slip into bloodfrienzied form. Let's see... three minutes. She probably only could hold herself back for three minutes.
Alluca immediately dashed, spear brandished. However, what's different instead it's seem she's expecting the spear to be either dodged or blocked. The moment any of those happened, she would snap her finger and melt the spear back into blood and summon it directly to stab below Celerous. Vampirish magic is fun, isn't it? She loves it, but at the same time, something inside of her also hates it with all her might. She would attempt to gain distance afterward, trying to not get caught on any attacks.
