LET ME GO! I HAVE TO GO BACK AND WARN THEM!
Shiori screeched, punching and kicking Lumis even as he flew off with her. They didn't even register to the Magi though: he was simply too strong for her to do any damage too. Although he was visibly annoyed by her constant wiggling. It made it a bit harder to hold on to her.
Despite her best efforts, Lumis managed to make it to the spaceport. Unfortunately he didn't make it there quickly enough: Shiori witnessed the demise of the refugees. She watched in silent horror as the energy ball came crashing down. The ground trembled from the impact, and Shiori could feel the energy of the Earthlings vanish.
“No…”
It was all Shiori could do just to get that one word out. She slumped against Lumis, tears running down her face as she sobbed uncontrollably. Lumis made it inside the spaceport and quickly walked towards a modified pod. It was faster than a normal pod and could house two people.
Lumis set Shiori on the ground as he prepared the pod for take off. Shiori leaned against the pod, practically bawling her eyes out. She had lost absolutely everything within a week. She had no home, and her friends and family were now. Dead. Shiori sniffed, trying to get herself under control enough to speak normally.
“Why?! Why have all these things been happening to us?! We’ve done nothing wrong, so why do we keep getting attacked?!”
Lumis paused with what he was doing for the moment. He looked down at the distraught girl. He didn't really know what to say to her. He didn't fully understand it all himself. But he would explain it the best he could.
“It seems that the majority of other species believe that might equals might. Since they're stronger than us, they think that laws don't apply to them. They’ll get their due in good time though. I’m sorry for your loss.”
Lumis reached out to put a comforting hand on her shoulder, but the silver haired girl brushed his hand away from her, pulling her legs up and burying her face into them. Lumis heard a few muffled sobs, and decided that it was best to leave her be for the time being. So he got to work on the pod again.
He had just started it up when Shiori rose her head. Her eyes were puffy and her face was red from all the sobbing. Much to his surprise though, sadness wasn't the emotion that was there. There was a look of hatred so intense on her face that Lumis felt a chill run down his spine. She turned her gaze towards him, causing him to back up a couple of steps.
“So in order to bring them to justice, I just have to become stronger then them, right?”
This girl was terrifying when she was mad. Those red eyes almost seemed to glow with rage. Lumis was much stronger than her, yet this girl made him nervous.
“You have a long way to go, but yes, that's the gist of it.”
“I don’t care how long it takes. I will become stronger than these beings. They can't be allowed to slaughter us like this. They’re going to pay for what they’ve done to me, to the entire human race!”
Lumis paused for a moment. Should he mention the program to her? She was very young. But the determination she was displaying was impressive. She certainly had the will and motivation to get stronger. She was able to sense energy as well. That made her the perfect candidate.
“I’ll give you an audience with Holly. She can help you become more powerful. Come on, we have to leave here though.”
Shiori and Lumis climbed into the pod. The doors closed behind him, and it shoot up into space. Lumis spared a glance over at Shiori, whose furious glare was fixated on Planet Bris. Lumis had one glaring thought echoing in his mind.
<That Kold Demon might have created a monster.>
