The hours quickly rolled by which cause the sun to enter a deep slumber. The light in the sky now growing dim caused the party-goers to begin to wrap things up and start packing. They began to disperse ever so slowly until everyone heard a shout.
"Whats that!?" One of the women shouted while pointing her finger towards the ocean. The voice was so audible that even those who were at the peak of the steep cliff could catch her words.
"Looks like a Buoy!" One of the men shouted.
"Is it supposed to be coming into shore like that!?"
The device only seemed to become more and more massive as it steadily came crashing towards the shore. The individuals curiosity soon turned into a panic, as they began to scatter. Their silence flipped off life a switch, as they began to turn into shrieks in terror. Many people along the shore left their belonging as they hastily sprinted up towards the steep slope towards the cliff. The were some who didn't stop running once the reached the top of the cliff, as others stay and hide within the thicket of flora and fauna that reach the edge of the overhang.
Once the looming hunk of metal strikes the shoreline, the ones who stayed were able to see all of their belongings utterly crushed by the weight of the vessel. The group then turned towards each other and began chattering.
"What the hell is that thing!?"
"We should get out here like the others!"
"There might be people in there!"
"Don't you remember what happened to south and west city!? We could be next!"
"No, we're not getting involved with the police."
"..And why not!?"
"Are you that dense!? We're not even supposed to be here!"
Then there was silence, the few silent moments felt like hours, as the fear and anxiety slowly got to each and everyone one of them.
"I'll go."
A man proclaimed, he seemed to be a tad more mature than the rest of the group. "Obviously we can't agree to call the police, and I just don't feel right if we left if someone was actually in there" The senior now taking charge took the first thing he could find for security, which was a large branch that laid upon the ground because there wasn't anything else he could use as an improvised weapon within the thicket. "Alright, I'm gonna see anyone else is left inside!" he exclaimed before he hurried down the trail leading back to the coast.
"Mark, wait!" A few of people exclaimed reaching out to him; however, it was too late. Mark was beyond their reach and none of them could strike up the courage to follow him down towards the machine.
After reaching what seems to be the bow of this ginormous vehicle, he took a better look at it. At first he noticed the plethora of windows that circular windows that surrounded the bottom portion of the ship, as its shape seemed to come around similar to that of a disk. However there didn't seem to be any logo to identify the ship in anyway while the design itself didn't seem too far of from being human in nature. "It doesn't seem to be alien.. at least I don't think it is, but how did wash up onto shore?" Mark said to himself as he began to survey around the ship. The length of the machine seemed to be never ending, as the man steadily crept around it. Along with each step he could feel his heartbeat rise until he could hear a faint humming emanating from the metal husk.
"What's that..?" The brave human then promptly swallowed the fear growing within him before getting up close to the machine, as he then placed his ear up to device. The crowd behind him growing ever more nervous beckoning him to come back up the cliff. The sounds only echoed louder and louder once he pressed his ear up the cold shell, until he could clearly tell what it was. "An...an alarm?" Mark quickly stepped back away from the ship, and hastily ran to find the entrance, knowing whoever was inside might be in grave danger. His heart began to quickly race faster than before while his muscles tightened, as he quickly noticed a hatch to the side of the machine. He prepared his makeshift weapon. He was now ready to sprint towards the entrance until a bright light shined through the cracks between the edges of the hatch, as the door it self explosively flew off its hinges.
The human was taken aback, quickly falling onto his rear, as he used his arm to cover himself from the smog. His body now actively rejecting the smoke with harsh coughs. His eyes focused back onto the door, as a foggy shadow came swooping out of the tunnel. The soaring creature quickly slammed onto the floor.
"Oh, shit are you alright!?" The man shouted out, as he immediately stood up and ran towards the creature hastily to get a closer look, quickly losing his footing as an eruption began. The vehicle behind him began to detonate like a series of fire works bursting on the edges of the husk, as the explosion sent the man flying forward like a rag doll across the shore before he struck against the rocky roll ahead of him. The sudden impact sent his vision to fade to black, as the sudden pain causes him to lose consciousness. Debris promptly then began to rain down onto the shore line burying the man and the mysterious creature in their new metal graves.
About half the group escaped due to the explosion , as the rest came down swiftly to save their companion. Their hastening foot steps were drowned out by the roaring fire. Their once peaceful getaway was now turned into complete and utter chaos. The individuals quickly began pulling and tugging at the debris to making sure their senior was alright.
"Don't worry Mark, we will get you out of there!" Said one of his companions.
Everyone seemed to be working together, as each piece of scarp slowly dug mark out of the junk pile he was now in. Suddenly a sharp scream could be heard within the chaos, causing a panic among the others.
"What, what is that thing!?"
"Oh my god... That's a huge bug..!"
"Wait a second what's that on its-"
"Holy... it stabbed Jason! It stabbed Jason!"
"What, what was that...?" The man began to mutter. He was in a daze until he heard another scream of terror that convinced him he needed to get out of his new iron coffin. His body hastily tossed and turned, but to no avail he was stuck. It didn't take too long for the screaming to stop, as he could hear something crawling up the heap of metal the surrounded him. He was now in a nightmare, as each step on his metallic covering felt he was edging closer and closer. Closing his eyes he hoped that it was exactly that, a nightmare. That after he counted to ten it'd all be over. "One.. Two...Three..Fo-.." He couldn't continue it was now too hard to breathe, it felt as though something had pierced him. He tried to open his eyes, but all the energy from with him seemed to be escaping his body. His struggling body slowly came became still.
Mark began to open his eyes and felt nothing but darkness, as he heard a voice.
"Mark was it?" questioned an ominous voice.
"Wait... Who is that?" Mark promptly replied.
"My name is Cytos, it seems that your life has been cut short, and for that I am sorry."
"Wait.. I'm dead? Where are my friends?"
"They are no long with us, and the same fate awaits for you, but do not worry your sacrifice will not be for not for I am Dr. Carmine's greatest creation, your essence will be used for something better."
"Who the hell is Doctor Carmine! Tell me where the hell am I-" Mark's voice fell silent.
'Mark? ...Mark! ...I suppose he is dead now...' The beetle thought to himself. 'However, I am glad there were people here I was quite hungry.' Cytos' head then turned towards the now burning metal heap staring at it. 'I guess Dr. Carmine is also dead if I was born prematurely. I will live my life out just as you wanted me to... father.'
