Running away, tactical withdraw, being a coward. However you wanted to phrase it, Crana knew sometimes you just couldn’t stick around and get killed. Heck, the only reason she’d survived some of her brushes with death was because she knew when to run. So many of her kind spoke too much of honour in a fight and of the noble art of conflict. What was noble about having your face broken in by a Saiyan that knew how to use their energy properly when you couldn’t? Being lumbered with a blaster that was so much slower than their quick bursts was no way to compete.
Crana muttered to herself that she was overthinking things, she always did dwell to hard on the stupid stuff when she was travelling. She’d had a really bad hunch regrading the PTO and the likely hood of the Saiyan empire just stomping up onto them again. She’d taken the time to listen to that hunch and get her behind out of there for a little while. Defecting wasn’t exactly the word she’d use for it, but she was probably going to be in one heck of a lot of trouble when and if she came back. Ah well, she’d ride through the bs whatever came.
Right now though she had to deal with a different problem, landing this damn pod which seemed to be struggling when it came to riding through the atmosphere, she could see the usual build up of heat straining against the front of the dome and, more worrying could hear the pings and pops of the metal starting to buckle. The stupid thing hadn’t been repaired properly had it. Typical. She was going to be in for one hell of a rough landing. Was it worth trying to evac the pod after the fire had died down some?
She decided she’d have better luck sticking it out as the viewport started to clear and she was able to see the picturesque planet below, Namek had been one of those strange worlds, apparently a peaceful and passive place that the PTO under the rulership of Frieza so long ago had invaded for reasons that Crana had never found out. That the world was still here and not owned by them was something of an odd spot for the Uchuoni. Either here was a world that would not be disturbed due to past failures. Or was strong enough that it could repel such things.
She grimaced and braced herself as the pod came slamming down, the craft impacting hard enough and in a slight spin, enough so that the damn thing bounced, throwing her around in the tiny space before coming to a halt with the woman upside down and unconscious as her body slumped out of the chair and against the pod door against the dirt. Her last thought as she blacked was that she hoped that she’d recover faster than someone found her.
The pod sat within the base of a self made crater, fallen trees practically pointing out the partial wreckage and the long trail of torn ground as it passed to close, to any who saw the descent it would have been clear that the pod was less in control of itself than was usual for such a landing, whether they cared much or not was a matter of choice
Biological Limiter Active! Actual Power Level: 11,245 PL/8434
PWC: 380 TWC: 380The punched whizzed by Abscis as the creature casually slid his head to one side, throwing the Namekian off balance from the lack of resistance. "Abscis no think you are very good this green one." The bio-android observed, hissing with laughter. The Namekian gritted his teeth, "SHUT IT MONSTER!" The Namekian roared, unleashing a good-sized explosive wave point-blank into Abscis. However, when the smoke cleared, the bio-android still stood, unharmed but for a few scratches and scrapes that were rapidly healing. The bio-android shook his head sadly, "Me thought you worth assimilating, but now no. You power not effort." Abscis raised a palm, blasting the poor namekian through a cliff, leaving him badly wounded and deeply unconscious.
The bio-android had been experiencing a new feeling, boredom. He had never before in his existence experienced this feeling, as he had always been so focused on surviving, evolving and generally clawing his way to the top. But now, with the amount of power he had gained after all those fights, nothing on this world seemed to be able to challenge him in the slightest, other than those strange humans in their gigantic house to the north. The problem was that those humans were so abnormally strong it wasn't worth the effort to even try to engage. Every time Abscis tried to approach the house, every instinct in his body screamed at him to run, so he did.
Today, however, something out of the ordinary had occurred. A metal sphere, not unlike the one Abscis himself had taken to this green ball, fell from the sky, carving a path through the landscape before finally coming to a rest. Abscis watched the event with excitement. The one in the pod wasn't incredibly strong, but it was still beyond the green ones he had been fighting for days. The bio-android excitedly picked his way across the trench, eventually arriving at the damaged metal ball. The bio-android tore off the door like it was tissue paper, examining the contents within. The alien was not like anything he had seen before, sporting pink skin and some sort of device on it's arm. Abscis would poke the creature with a talon, hoping to determine if she was awake and able to defend herself, or too injured to stir.
The blackness took some time to fade, she’d started to recover from the state of unconsciousness, due to the rather horrible straining of metal. The door had been torn from her pod or the pod had been carved into. The Uchuoni didn’t quite open her eyes yet, hoping that if it was just some offended wildlife it’d assume there was nothing important within the metal pod and then wander off. However, when she was gently poked, she moved and fast. The woman’s eyes snapping open while her arms moved in a blur. The arm canon raised and charging as it was pushed up and towards her strange poking creature.
She then got to see just what it was that was poking her, her eyes widening even wider than normal. She was clearly horrified by what she was encountering. However, she did manage to stifle her horror. She needed to try and talk it down, she had no idea how strong it was. Or just what it was doing on this peaceful little world. Had it all gone to crap since she last heard about the place?
“Uh… Hi? Back up a bit. I want out of this pod”
It was about the best she could do as she tried to right herself within the pod while keeping that gun aimed at the creature, just in case it was some savage creature and not a sentient alien like she really hoped it was. With any luck it’d be able to understand her and she’d be the right way up and able to flee should more creatures show up and prove hostile towards either of them. At least she could toss the pod at them and detonate it as a distraction./
The strange being abruptly woke, pointing its arm at Abscis' face without even missing a beat. The bio-android's face stayed impassive as she did this, he had long seen the uselessness at raging at those who judged him based on his appearance. It was far better to wait, see their reaction, and then tear their arms off if they kept shouting at his monstrous appearance. At this point, the endless declarations of 'monster' bored Abscis rather extremely. He tapped the creature's metallic arm, "What this, is this metal spitter? Earthling found they not helpful." Abscis hissed, laughing slightly at the memories.
He would attempt to grab the being by its arm, dragging it out of the metal sphere and roughly depositing it on the churned turf a few meters away, "So why you here? You come to punch Abscis like little girl? Or you come to join tail men? Me curious." Abscis stated. One of his arms lashed out, grabbing a small frog for a snack as he listened to the alien's story. Perhaps some entertainment would be in order, and if this alien tried to attack him, her power was enough that an absorption wouldn't be hurtful/. PWC: 198 TWC: 578
She narrowed her gaze slightly as the creature tapped her arm, the charge on the shot building a little and then falling again as the creature decided to talk. Okay, that was a nice touch it was intelligent enough to be able to talk. Okay, things were certainly looking up for her not just being eaten by some random ass creature from this planet. It was asking what her arm canon was and she wasn’t sure how to explain it exactly, it implied that some Earthling whatever that was didn’t make good use of a metal, spitter? Is that what he called an arm canon? She gave a bit of a startle at the thing pulling her out of the pod, wriggling her arm away from it’s own and just dusting herself off when put down on the grass. She answered his question in her own way, allowing her weapon to fire off skywards, the blast sailing off harmlessly and her gaze keeping half an eye on the creature and half on the blast.
“Why? Uh, Who or what is an Abscis? What little girl? T-Tail men? What do you mean tail men? Is tha-… Oh crap, the Saiyans are here? Really? I cannot be dealing with more Saiyans.”
She sighed and her shoulders slumped, the Uchuoni genuinely seeming disheartened at the very foe she had left for this world to avoid showing back up and causing her more bother. If the damn monkies were here, then she didn’t have much of a chance on her own. It, ate a frog. It just up and ate a frog, so it was carnivorous as if that wasn’t obvious from the look of the creature in front of her. It also seemed to have a bit of a talking issue, maybe not as bright as she’d first thought. But that just meant there was a chance that it could be trained if it didn’t have a lot of free thought.
Abscis ignored the alien's wriggling, tightening his grip to prove a point before he tossed her on the dirt. It wouldn't do for this one to think she had authority over him, it wouldn't do at all. If she wished to push the bio-android around, it was obvious she would have to try harder than a bit of disobedience or blasting recklessly into the sky with her metal arm. Speaking of which, Abscis would give a heavy shrug as the alien fired a ki blast from her strange arm, rather rudely in fact. "So it just an arm? Everyone Abscis meet do that." The bio-android hissed, before raising a claw and generating and firing a small ki blast towards the alien's attack. Despite being comparatively smaller, Abscis' attack utterly annihilated the alien's assault, carrying on into the green sky without any significant loss in energy.
He shook his head as the alien fired off a string of questions, none of them answering his own queries. "Me Abscis. Little girl is little girl and tail men are tail men, not these Say-ans you speak." Abscis said in a mocking tone, placing a rather blunt emphasis on the statement that this all should have been rather self-evident. Honestly, Abscis knew that he wasn't the smartest on the green marble, but he was obviously smarter than this strange creature. He was beginning to lean more towards the absorbing side of things if this alien couldn't even provide the most basic scrap of useful information. "Where you come from? Why you here? Why you care about tail men? Me getting bored of you." Abscis hissed ominously.
Abscis hissed as the woman quiered him again, "No, me eat and then no eat for a week. That me designed for." Abscis said shortly, "Me can also assimilate people ki and get stronger for it." Abscis said bluntly, eyeing the alien, the underlying meaning clear as day. PWC: 319 TWC: 897
She smiled a little at the comment of it just being an arm, pretty much yeah. He was on the ball with that one and more importantly damn that was a heavy hit he just threw into her own. Okay so it was stronger than her, clearly not the most friendly of things, she’d have to be on the careful side at this juncture. She couldn’t assume anyone else would show up to take it’s attention away from her and give her time to just leave the area and find some of the natives. She gave a little half shrug and added back to him about the arm canon.
“Eh, it’s an aid for my kind. We ain’t so good at making the external ki.”
She floated just a little, using the opportunity and the slight elevation of the ground, maybe a foot or so to look around. Realising that this wasn’t going to be anything like enough to see over the bulk of the treeline, but it let her look back down into the crater she had made with her pod and to see the damage done to it properly.
“Well, damn. There goes my ride off this rock if things go bad. Wait, what little girl is the little girl. You mean me? I didn’t realise someone my size and build was considered little these days. Talk about behind the times.”
She didn’t have any further answer about the tail men. Other creatures that had tails. The kold-demons maybe? Actual demons? It couldn’t be the natives, that she knew of the Namekian’s didn’t have tails, weird that he didn’t mention the natives at all. Had they been wiped out? She’d been really hoping to find some kind of peaceful world, though she stared dismissively at the creature when it talked about getting bored and eating people’s ki. Though damn it eats, what a small frog and it’s done for a week. Damn she’d kill for that kind of effeciency.
“Well Abscis, then shoo. I ain’t got a particularly impressive ki store for you to get stronger with and if I’m boring, go find someone more fun to play with. If you stick around a boring person, it’s your own fault if you’re bored.”
She started to use her non gun arm to tap at her scouter, looking for any incoming ki signals with care and taking a moment during what looked to be a fairly careful sweep to check the difference between the pair of them. Whelp, that sucked if this thing tried to kill her she didn’t have a hope in hell without her squad to back her up. Why did she leave them behind?
So apparently the metal arm was to help them generate waves of ki, instead of just generating it naturally out of their palms like everyone else the bio-android had encountered. Really, it wasn't too hard of a skill to learn, Abscis had watched children do it with little or no trouble, so why couldn't this alien, with an above average power level accomplish such a simple task? "You train so you no use metal arm? It simple." Abscis suggested, reaching out as to take the device and force the alien to learn on her own. Honestly, if this one tried to get in a fight, even that unskilled little girl from before should have the fighting savy to aim for such an obvious weak point.
Abscis watched as the girl floated upwards, somewhat bemused by the spectacle. Flight seemed like a useful skill that he should probably learn someday, jumping long distances was nice and all, but it couldn't substitute for the real thing. Abscis slapped the ruined spacepod, "It fine, just steal one from the tail men. They leave them outside when they sleep. Very easy." Abscis said, forgetting to mention the obvious danger inherent in such a venture. The tail men were very touchy about people invading their space, truly a failure on their part. "You no little girl, you alien, little girl is little human girl." Abscis stated testily, starting to get annoyed by her failure to understand.
The bio-android let out an angry hiss as the creature once again failed to answer the most basic of questions he had posed to her. Clearly, she had very little social skills. "Me no leave. Me stay and learn about where pink one come from. Me not staying on green marble forever. Why cant pink one answer a single question Abscis ask? Is pink one scared of talking to Abscis?" Abscis asked, his tone revealing his frustration. He had finally found someone that would carry out a conversation with him, but it refused to answer any of his basic questions? Was this a personal failing, or did it extended to others of her kind. If this extended somehow to a fight, the bio-android would enjoy beating some sense into her. PWC: 371 TWC: 1268
Crana gave him a bit of a dark look at the comment about being able to use offensive ki without the use of her arm canon. If it was really that damn simple, she’d already have been able to do as such. However despite her best efforts she’d struggled to do anything aggressive with her energy levels. How best to explain it to this creature, landing with care again she addressed the shorter creature.
“Offensive ki isn’t something we’re good at, the canon helps. Mostly my kind is exceptional at self improvement using our energy, flying. Running faster. Making ourselves stronger, but firing it out of the body seems to be a trial for us.”
She examined the pod with something of a dis-hearted expression on her face it was totalled, at least as far as spaceworthyness went. There was just no patching holes that the heat had burned into the edges. Surely the creature understood attachment? She’d been using that pod for years, to just replace it so unthinkingly was somewhat painful to her.
“Replacing it isn’t the problem, this pod was mine. It’s been mine since I started fighting. It’s, important to me and it hurts seeing it so busted up. Also, what’s a human?”
She sighed when the creature said that it wasn’t going anywhere and was insistent on getting it’s questions answered. The Woman turned with her hands on her hips to stare down at him for a moment or two before sighing dramatically and answering.
“Okay I don’t like answering questions, I still don’t know what or who you really are and if talking to you is a good idea, so I’m being a little guarded. I come from another planet, that no offence meant, considering your strength I don’t want something like you anywhere near. You’d likely drain the place dry in a few months since you can steal ki and my kind aren’t the strongest of things. Yes I’m scared of you, why wouldn’t I be? I’m in the middle of an alien world talking to something that I know isn’t a native and is clearly carnivorous and kivourous at that, and all I have is a piddly blaster and no backup. If things went badly and you decided to kill me, I’m dead. So go ahead Abscis. Tell me why I shouldn’t be scared?”
“So annoying pink one can use ki, use well, but no shoot ki? Shoot ki easy!” Abscis declared, still very confused why the alien couldn’t accomplish the task that was as easy to him as breathing. The other ki skills she mentioned took the same kind of ability, but these purple ones couldn’t simply pool their energy into a ball and fire it? It was truly strange.
The purple one’s next action was even more confusing, as she stared as the gutted metal ball with some odd look on her face. Was the sphere somehow causing physical injury to the alien despite it’s relatively destroyed state? The bio-android couldn’t remember his pod having the sort of feature, but then again he stole it. Was it an option if you used those strange metal discs the Earthlings loved so much to obtain it? Abscis didn’t know, but perhaps it was an idea worthy of further inspection if he ever left this planet. “So? It you pod but it broken pod. Is just metal. If it hurt you kill it, then get new. Simple solution. Abscis do for you if want?” Abscis asked, holding a flat palm towards the pod.
At the alien’s next statement, Abscis eyes flashed with anger, “Abscis answer you questions, why no you answer Abscis’? Abscis bored and no talk so Abscis want talk. Abscis no think you worth fight so Abscis no attack! Talk purple lady!” The bio-android hissed loudly, beginning to grow genuinely distressed at her continued rudeness. Why couldn’t anyone simply talk with him without fighting or growing hostile? PWC:272 TWC: 1540
Oh great, it considered her annoying already, oh well. At least it wasn’t thinking about eating her right now, that was a plus for her, it seemed to get distracted and as long as she could keep it that way. She’d likely be able to avoid any confrontation and get herself out of there to gather her wits and figure out her next move.
“It’s just something weird about our race, no one has explained it very well to me, and it just becomes habit to use the arm canon.”
She actually laughed a little at it offering to kill the pod for it having hurt her, it was in a strange way a little bit of an adorable scene from the strange and scary alien creature. She did her best to wave him back and stop him from destroying the poor pod.
“No not, not a bad way, I’m sad to see it having broken. I’ve used the same pod for a long time, it’s almost like a friend to me. Do you know what I mean? It’s the same kind of sadness as a long time companion dying unexpectedly. It’s a bit of a shock.”
She swore under her breath at it’s anger rising, the uchouni taking a step back, but not raising the canon in this instance, figuring it’d only provoke it further if she did, also she wasn’t sure if she felt offended or not by the not worth a fight comment. It was probably true, this strange creature would probably make an unholy mess out of her if it wanted to.
“Fine. I’m from a World I only got to see as a child, I was recruited and trained by the PTO at a young age to be a soldier in a stupid war that I had no interest in. It was called Puranettohōn if I remember right, if it even stilll exists with the Saiyans back on the rise. There, happy. I answered where I came from. With any luck you’ll never find the place when you’re hungry.”
Bored? Why was it bored? What did it do for fun? On one hand this thing appeared to be a simple creature, on the other it had some strange complexities, the speech problems she just attributed to the common tongue not being it’s native language, but there was something off about it that bugged her.
“What is it you want abscis? I don’t mean like right now, I mean like on a bigger scale, like for five years from now kind of thing. What is it that has you sitting here on this world being bored?”
Abscis simply shrugged as the alien continued insisting that she depended upon the metal arm, "Abscis think easier without whatever." He hissed, losing interest in this side of the conversation. If the alien's species could not even accomplish such a simple act, Abscis was completely unsure how they had survived so long. Strange.
At the alien's next statement, Abscis would tilt his head, "Friend? What friend? Abscis know no word." The creature said, quite obviously extremely confused. Now the alien was talking gibberish, it was only a matter of time before it snapped. Abscis began to prepare himself for a confrontation but did not move against the alien.
Yet.
Abscis looked up at the sky as the alien finally opened up about her past, and, to his own suprise, he found it intriguing "You no know planet? You like Abscis. Me no know where me come from, woke up on water planet alone." The bio-android let out a shaking sigh. "Abscis no know what to do now. Abscis strong but Abscis bored." PWC: 173
Crana seemed a touch confused at the creature’s lack of knowledge of just what a friend is, what a pity that the poor thing had never experienced a friend before. How best to put it that would make sense. The woman would pause a moment, trying to figure it out and slowly rub her chin before snapping her fingers
“Ah, a friend is, well a friend is someone that joins you on a journey. You have trust in them to keep look out for your back and you look out for them. There’s more, but by and large In hard times it’s someone who helps you stay alive, who fights alongside you. That kind of thing, that old pod was just about the most reliable piece of hardware I ever used.”
She gave a somewhat half hearted shrug and sat on the pod now, looking at the strange creature properly for a change. What a strange thing that she had come across, it was intelligent sure but uneducated it’d seem, and had the attention span of a child with how quickly it grew bored. She had to wonder how long it’d been here.
“Strong huh? Well you’ve got that right, definitely stronger than me, but if you’re bored. What is it you do for fun Abscis? What amuses you? Maybe I can help you out with that a little as, uh thanks for pulling me from the wreckage?
