HWC Equipped It's been a while since his freedom from the facility... not really freedom, but as far as he know, this is an equivalent for freedom. He's still tied to Rutaba, thus following him nearly everywhere for whatever business it is. He picked up some skill too after he finally out of the facility, such as reading, writing, albeit he's not as good as how he liked. Even so, it's something. The boy unfortunately often found himself have no idea of what to do. When he was in the training facility, he would be trained as much as they could, shaping what they called "Trash" like him to proper soldier. He don't mind that, and while at first he felt obviously shocked from the happy life he had before and ended up in kill or to be killed situation, he found the newfound extra time to be... a bit too strange. He have no idea of what to do... and even if he wanted to train, today he was told to stay at home instead of training. That's... that's honestly a bit hard for him. He has yet to be acquainted with the "Mistress" or so he decided to label Rutaba's... wife? She does sounds like his wife.
And now, honestly he have no idea what to do. Rutaba is away... and he was told to stay... but what to do? The appliance of this place is far beyond his previous life's class. It's too high tech for him to even understand what's what. It baffled him, and perhaps that would be one of very rare time where the boy is showing some more visible emotions. Even starting the fire made jolt and tried hard to undo his action before the stove turned off. After that, he decided to not bother. He also have no idea which one would be "food to be eaten" by him and which one is forbidden... which makes it all the more confusing for him. He would probably go on to hunt, but... he was ordered to stay so at the very least he should stay, right?
....GROOOOWLLL...
...Ah, his stomach grumbled again... He thought that he have disciplined himself to be more resistant to hunger, but in the end... he failed, huh...
"...What should I do..." he mumbled.
In the end, perhaps freedom isn't something that is suited for him. Maybe... common sense is needed first before anything else...
This thread is taking place inside of Demalia’s mansion.
Demalia let out a sigh, wiping the brow of her forehead with the back of her head. Coming back home with Rutaba was absolutely wonderful. It promised the chance of showing him her world as they got closer together. Sadly that wasn’t the only thing she had brought back from Sadal.
The sample she got from the Umbrawn that she and Rose fought was a priority. First she had put it moat of the sample into proper storage. After that she had gotten work with it. She compared it to the virus sample she already had. Much to her frustration (and partial excitement), this was proving to be much more difficult then she initially thought it would be.
She had a good amount of preliminary data going into the project. She had studied the original sample material meticulously. Which meant she had a fairly good comparison point between the actual virus and the effects it had on the DNA of the person she collected. And it was still hard to grasp just how this virus worked.
If she could study how it twisted the DNA of the victim then she probably would be able to make sense of it quickly. That meant watching it in real time though. She could get a general idea by introducing the infection to a sample of blood. That would only give her partial understanding though, as she wouldn't be able to see its specific effects on every body part. Demalia wasn’t effecting someone to see how it worked, so she was forced to work with what she had.
After about half a day working on it, she decided to call it quits. She was going to have a date with her boyfriend in a few hours, and she wanted to prepare for it before it happened. Besides, she had just gotten contacted by Rutaba and was told about a guest that they would be having shortly.
Once he had arrived, Demalia made her way out of the underground laboratory, taking the elevator back up to her mansion. She walked back into the main hallway, walking up to a monitor built into the wall and voiced a command.
“Rosa, could you please locate our guest for me?”
“He’s currently in the kitchen. You shouldn't keep him waiting for too long.”
“Thanks Rosa, I won't!"
Rose was the artificial intelligence that ran the majority of the mansion systems. Demalia found talking to her a bit more easier than most other people. The hybrid ran down the hallway, making her way into the kitchen. She found a rather are child in the kitchen, and he was…
“Wait, DON’T!”
Demalia immediately reacted when he recoiled, but she wasn’t fast enough. Fortunately the stove was turned off just as quickly. Demalia looked down at his hands. Fortunately he seemed to be unharmed. Demalia looked at him, frantically looking down at the kid.
“Stoves can be dangerous! Why on Plant would you turn one on like that? You could have gotten burned!"
Demalia’s question was answered by a resounding growl echoing throughout the room. She blinked, the worried look fading a bit from her eyes. So he was just hungry then. That made a little more sense.
“Do you know how to cook? Even if you do I’m not comfortable with you using the stove. What kind of meal would you like to be fixed?”
Demalia had just met the kid. Although he must be a nice person. Rutaba wouldn't have invited him over otherwise. She was going to make sure he didn't hurt himself and look after him while Rutaba was away.
There's so many strange things in this house. Boxes that let out fire... some doors that opens on their own...-- wait the lab have those too, but he seriously never seen any of these... items. The boy would look at the... mistress of the house. The lady? The... whatever it's called. She does indeed looks young for whatever reason, and it felt like she's only several years older than he is. Probably because she's a half tuffle. Information wise, his data about her is limited, but he was surprised that she somehow treated him far kindly than another. "...I..." Her tone was admonishing, and honestly, it wasn't as if she's truly angry at him, more like she sounded apprehensive at his lack of common sense. The way she checked at his wounds... that's strange. Normally, they would only toss salve and bandage at him, then they would go their own merry business, yet this woman did far beyond that... Outside peoples are strange. Why would they care so much about him?
"...I want to make fire for cooking food," he would answer, but looks like his stomach answered him enough. ...And she's not comfortable with him using the strange box? Well he won't fault her. "...Anything is fine. Leftover is fine, anything else is fine too... If I could be given permission, I could hunt for food myself, but I was told to stay. Order are absolute, and thus I stay. I felt hungry, but I have no idea what food would I allowed to eat. But water should be fine. I was looking for water source... yes."
It's strange talk that came from the boy, but it's seem that he doesn't have any sort of malicious thought. He seem doesn't understand what's OK and what's not and obviously lacking severely in common sense department.
It was a combination that wasn’t going to mix that well from the start. Demalia was not very confident of things that she wasn't good at. Which was why she had robots do her cooking for her. When she went on her trip she had brought instant food with her. She usually didn't have leftovers at home though. As a result, the hybrid ended up twiddling her thumbs, an apprehensive look on her face.
“Um… well… you don't have to take orders while you're in my place. Just don't get yourself hurt, okay? I don't know what you like or don’t like, if you're allergic anything, so I don't know what to get you. Could you please tell me what you’d like to eat. Are you in the military? I don't mean to to imply, it's just, er, the way you talk is kind of… um…”
Social anxiety reared its ugly head again. Demalia twirled one of the curls in her hair, going off to the refrigerator. She leaned down, opening it up and taking out a bottle of water. She closed it back up, going over and holding out the bottle to the kid. All while playing with her hair.
