The Golden Fruit flower has bloomed on the World Tree. This was her very first heartbeat. Days later, it would slowly enlarge and filled with the divine energy of the world. It's a birth of new God of Creation, a Kaioshin. There are cases of Kaioshins born with past memories, but all in all, perhaps this is the very first time a Kaioshin born with memory of someone from another universe. The fruit fell to the ground, and from it emerged a blue skinned maiden. Her clothes appeared a split second later, slightly different from how a normal Kai clothes yet still modest. The newborn Kai stumbled on her feet, tripping suddenly like a newborn foal. The moment she stood up again, she examined her hands.
"..."
It was such a strange thing, almost as if she's not used to her hands. Rather than feeling difference of size or something else, it's as if she's also not used to feel texture or the feeling of having flesh body. Her bare feet touched the grass, and finally... She inhaled. Her first breath. It felt so different, so strange, yet so right. And that's when flood of information began. She remembered her final moment, yet at the same time... there's no fear, there's no anger, only regret that she failed. The dame slowly walked toward where would be her destination. It's a strange feeling, but she had a feeling she have to met with someone around here. New body, new life, new power... The first image that crossed on her mind is a snow crystal.
"...Chione... yes, my name is Chione... Chione of the South."
Gone was the Metalman. In his place, a literal goddess of life sprouted to life. Like how magma carried minerals from underground to the surface, the fire that once extinguished so many life now became the true force of creation.
The human was sitting atop of a rock in the Supreme World of the Kaioshin. With a small whetstone on his right hand he was sharpening a blade, a Katana sword, slowly and steadily, with the sound of stone and metal almost as if a music, a prelude of story of life, honour, death and hope. As he stared at the sword, he couldn't help but to crack a smile on his face as a familiar energy could be sensed. It was a person he knew, even though the way this person came to this new Universe was quite different, dignified and, on top of it all, deserving. His eyes were closed as the whetstone continued to sing as it touched his blade. "So you finally woke up... Fusa-Zoddo. Or should I now call you, Chione of the South?" and upon saying that, the red-haired human finally opened his light blue eyes and stared at the new form of the person he knew all so well.
"A Kaioshin... I have to say it's well-deserved. Quite fitting for the lovely gardener I knew." he said as he finally put his whetstone to rest and sheathed his sword, placing the scabbard with the blade in it back into his belt. Serge hopped off the boulder he was on and took a few steps towards the newly born Kaioshin. He had no halo above his head, showing he was indeed a living being, a mortal, and yet he was in the world of the Gods of Creation, a privilege not many could claim they had, not even back in their original home, Universe 4. Truth was, he was being trained by Kron, the newly appointed Grand Supreme Kaioshin of Universe 7, who was formerly the one in charge of their original home.
"...Long time no see, old friend," Chione would greeted Serge with a smile. "I have no idea that you were the one that powered my core for years... yet, the moment I looked at you, I knew that you felt familiar. Our ki connected with each other... yet this is the first time I saw you myself. It's a honor. Aye, my name are nothing but an identity. Do call me whatever you please, man who was mine other half."
A Kaioshin? Yes, she's now a Kaioshin. It's strange feeling, yet at the same time she would not complain. Out from nothing she would create a sizable rock for her to sit on. "Fufu, I indeed wished for this form once. I thought I would be punished for wishing something outside of my caliber. I despised our Hakaishin Weiss and wished to took the power that she once hold. I despised her her incompetence, and wondered if our universe would be better in my hand. Yet, for my foolishness, and for my arrogance I met my end. 'This was the end', I thought... yet here I am, entrusted with a duty so massive. It made me wonder if no mistakes were made..."
She noticed that her talking partner no longer have a halo above his head. "The Eternal Dragon revived you too I'm assuming?" she asked. "Yet, you felt weaker than before... as I am. It's strange isn't it, friend? We fought for our universe, and now our universe become part of this one. We were one strong, now we're nothing than more than a fifth of our previous power. Yet, for some reason, we somehow took new part of this new life. A Kaioshin and a warrior. How I wished to ask you to be my guardian almost immediately, yet I don't feel like it's right... What have you been up to?" she would ask. "If my sense of time is right, then... a year has passed since that event. Perhaps more... Would you be so kind to fill me in?"
Serge chuckled and nodded. "I shall call you for your new, fitting name, old friend. And it was a pleasure and an honour for me to power your core. You gave me hope that even our universe could improve. Ultimately it did not, we didn't have the time, but fate bestowed us with an opportunity. And... In all honesty, you were the one who opened the doors for that opportunity and I only continued to follow the path you carved with your pure heart." the change of heart in Tomina was only possible because of who Fusa-Zoddo was. His purity managed to touch her cold, warrior's heart and Serge only managed to form a pact because of that. Ultimately, the credits for that belonged mostly to Tomina and Fusa-Zoddo, with a tiny contribution from the human.
"There are no mistakes, for even the gods have flaws. Although belonging to whole different realm and shouldering the burdens of both creation and destruction, the gods are still beings. They evolve and they fall, depending on the choices they make. True, they have way more enlightenment and knowledge. But that alone does not determine a person will follow the path of righteousness. This is, ultimately, a matter of choice. You were rightly blessed with this opportunity, and I know you will honour it." he said with a gentle smile on his face, nodding as she asked if the eternal dragon had resurrected him as well. "It did. And for that I'm grateful. I'm alive again and I hadn't been alive for over four hundred years. It's otherworldly to breath and eat again. I'm not sure how I feel about it entirely, but I guess it's fair to say I'm happy with this outcome." and he chuckled a bit more, gazing to the horizons of this mystical world. It was so different from the Supreme world of their own Universe. It was all the more natural and beautiful, showing that this Universe was indeed the better one, though with lots of room for further improvement.
"Changing universes entirely is rough on our essence. It's like we have to adapt to an entirely new reality. We lost most of our power, but I like to see this as a humbling experience. I lost what I gave so much to acquire and yet... On this Universe, Earth is alive. My people are alive... I couldn't have asked for greater blessing." and the thought of seeing humans thriving again brought tears to his eyes, to which he quickly wiped out with his wristband. "Being your guardian would be an honour, but I feel my body being slowly pushed away from this dimension. I now belong in the world of the living. And in truth, my heart desires that as well. To walk on the green plains of Earth once more. To see the smile of my fellow humans. To cherish and protect that world." he said as he looked back to his old friend. "During this time I have been training, adapting to this new world, this new body. Master Kron has been ever so kind as to take me in. And now I will be departing. I will fight on a tournament on the Grand Kai's world, to test the strength I managed to gather within this year. I'm still a shadow of my former self, but Master Kron feels it would be appropriate for me to try my luck in a battle with fallen heroes." he explained. "I would invite you to watch it, if you may. Though I wouldn't be surprised if you currently feel reticent about watching a tournament. I understand the grim sensation it may bring..." he said, mentioning the Tournament of Power, which was quite the traumatic experience to many of them, no matter the Universe.
"Come to think of it," Chione began "you and Weiss should have been on the same race albeit different species. Yet, you were the last of your kind, dead at it. Has Weiss' own hubris made her completely unsympathetic to her own race? Have her hubris of her power seriously led her astray, to the point of which race's survival no longer a matter in her eyes?" then again, Chione, as Fusa-Zoddo, ever heard of how Weiss was so vain that she would require a lot of planets to erect golden statues of her, holding the planet's own survival at gunpoint. By then, even if they did manage to build the impossible statue of her and she left the planet be, she would ended up draining the resource from the world, thus destroying their economy and survival anyway. It's no different than slow, painful death for those planets. Very little managed to spring back to life. He have no idea how the other Kaioshin works, but Kron definitely had too many weights on his shoulder.
"You think I will be a righteous one? Fufu it's reassuring to hear you to say that. In my opinion, regardless of mortal or not, god or otherwise, the true power lies in experience. Strength, wisdom, anyone with more experience than me, be them mortal or not, should be honored. As I am, I'm naught but a fruit unripe. My plan is to seek wisdom from various mortals that has shaped this world. Who could help me better but the local? It didn't help that my predecessor apparently did not leave many records that I could study on. The planet I hold power over apparently was an idyllic planet until few year ago. It's now bustling with trades never seen before. The planet's nature shifted significantly, and I'd love to build a great relationship between me and the people there."
However, it seems that she was being misunderstood. "Aye, but like I said, I didn't actually plan to act on it. You're a free man, friend. Therefore, you should be free. I guess it's reassuring to have someone beside you, someone that you already know since long. It gave me a sense of security. However, that's only my selfishness. I cannot take you away from your new home, and it's only fair for you to enjoy the fruit of your labor. I do hope that whoever in charge of Earth would give you peace. It saddened me that apparently Earth and Namek isn't in the best relationship... if it's possible, please do give a nice word in to your leader. Harmony between planets are the best thing after all."
Alas, to the invitation, she only shook her head. "Friend, just like how you are to be free soon, my new role requires me to assume my position right away. I did not have the leniency to leave my office and watch directly, but I will definitely watch it from the Kami Tube. I do hope you forgive me. My hope for victory be upon you, though. May you win, or... should I say... may you have fun? Would you like me to give you some lucky charm perhaps? I heard a lot of warrior request it from a dame... but then again, I wasn't a dame until very recently," she joked.
Serge took a deep breath and closed his eyes for a second. His mind powers opened up and Chione would be attracted to a brief memory of Weiss' first visit on Earth of Universe 4, over four hundred years ago.
It was but a glimpse of a moment of a memory, but one that already showed enough. Serge's Earth was far less developed than the worlds that could be found on Universe 7. Spaceships, even electricity were nowhere to be found and humans still lived akin to what was called the middle ages in this universe. In the memory, Chione could see two earthlings: Serge and a blond woman, who were charging furiously against someone and, behind them, to his probable surprise, a Metalman, also ready to fight. It was clear there were more and he made sure Chione would know that as he reached for his bag and grabbed a picture in a frame and handed it over to the newborn Shinjin, showing him along with former comrades.
"Weiss did come from Earth, but millennia before I was even born. She quickly forgot her roots as she achieved Godhood and forfeited her ties to the mortal realm." he began explaining. "The people you see there... Were my friends. Together we traveled around the Milky Way, protecting people from harm. Things started to crumble down the day Weiss set foot on Earth. Maddened by being forgotten, she threatened to destroy the planet and we stood before her. We fought the best we could and even with all our combined power, we failed. As punishment, she corrupted one of our friends, turning him into a demon... And she erased my fiance..." he sighed as his eyes became watered. "To save everyone else we had to bow before her and honour her. My friend... Magus... Became our main threat until Piero came back. Glenn tried to defeat him but died. Little by little our numbers were reduced and when Piero came, it was just me, Robo, Lucca and Ayla. I was the last one to fall, but I fell regardless. And Earth was lost. If we had Marle... If we had Glenn... I'm sure we could've stopped Piero. But it is what it is and the past is gone..." he sighed, wiping the tear from his eyes and managing to crack a gentle smile once again. "In the end... I fell..." and once again he shared his memories with Chione.
That was his last memories before he faded into the afterlife at the hands of Piero. Earth was already in the process of dying, with all the lifestream of the planet flowing out in bright blue. After him, the blue haired girl and the one known was Magus followed. It was the end of Earth, and the end of the best protectors of peace Universe 4 ever had. But Serge didn't blame the God of Creation for his doom as he knew all too well the burden he shouldered.
"Kron always tried to help. He was the only Kaioshin left alive, as Weiss didn't like to share power. But she could not kill him due to the linked lives. He had the whole Universe on his shoulders." he explained to the new Kaioshin. "And he became a good Kaioshin by doing exactly what you want to do. He wanted mortals to thrive. He trusted us, he shared with us and learned with us as well. Through his guidance, we had hope for a while. And for that I'm forever grateful, Chione." he added, chuckling lightly when she offered him a lucky charm. "For you to be cheering on me is enough, my old friend. I will do it by my own power and if I fail, it just means I will have to keep on trying and improving. Hehehe..." he told her as he got ready to depart soon.
The feeling, the sadness, the despair, it was overwhelming. The mental link was too much, yet she didn't dare to sever it. She didn't dare to turn away, and what she only could feel afterward... was hate, hate toward the injustice, hate toward the oppressor. "...I see, I see... So not enough that she created suffering left and right, she also dared to abuse her godly power... but not only she decided to trample on your feeling, she also decided that she will resort to even use you after your death?" the look on the Kai's face was something akin to those of a demon. A demon and the God of Creation. It's said some demons were previously God of Creation themselves, yet fallen from grace. While it's far for Chione to reach that point, she showed the face of a Hannya from the sheer hatred toward the now erased Hakaishin.
"...Piero... so it was true that Clown was the agent of Weiss, huh... To think that she would do exactly what Belmod of Universe 11 did hundred years prior, she must be truly afraid to be erased. Seriously... if only I had a way, I would wished that Weiss got tortured, over and over again, down there in hell for the hubris that she did. And the crime she did toward so many people. Why... why would someone be that self centered I have no idea. It was rotten, vile, completely, absolutely..."
She looked down toward the ground. "...Alas, I can't say anything else than that... All I wish for is to wish you for a happiness in this new world world."
Chione would gently take Serge's hand, then focuses her ki. "...This is a Kai's prayer.... May your path remains just and filled with happiness and smiles. Thank you for sharing your story with me. I will definitely, definitely will not give up on being a just Kai. I will not let what befall to you previously happened to anyone in this life... May the future be kind to both of us, old friend. One day, do visit my world. Even if it's just for the sake of visiting, I'll definitely welcome you with hospitality."
And with that, sadly it's time to part for the moment. Chione gently waved and chanted her Kaikai, heading toward her planet. Come to think of it, she need to check who does her subordinate picked for their fighter. She hope that it would be a strong one.
Serge's smile carried some sadness. "Do not desire for that kind of things, old friend, for they will do nothing but taint your soul." he simply said, as he didn't want Fusa-Zoddo's new life to start already guided by negative feelings. He wished him the very best, a life of fulfillment, just like he deserved. As she took his hand, his smile brighten up a bit and his light blue eyes rested on her own. "Thank you for your prayer. I will hold it dearly within my soul. Forever." he said with a brief nod. And the following moment, her teleporting ability sent him right to where he was supposed to be: the Grand Kai's World.
