Liari had had it... She couldn't find her daughter... The little blue Majin knelt there among the rocks, her hands digging into her baggy majin pants, her eyes clenched shut in utter frustration... Her own aura faded weaker and weaker as her anger mutated into despair. Her baby... her beautiful little girl she wasn't here...? Why couldn't she sense her ki...? Where WAS IIIIIIT!? It was as if the question were directed to the universe itself... but there was no answer... there would never be an answer. Why should the Universe answer to her? Why should it part with one of it's secrets for just one suffering being among many?
Bastard...
"Where is she..." She growled, her hands shifting from her pants down to the rocky earth at her feet, digging into it as if the stone were nothing but dust... "Terra... My sweet.... WHERE ARE YOU!?"
And for that matter, where was Bernael!? Didn't he say he'd find her on earth or something at some point on Namek!? It was like there was nobody here at all unless she was right next to them! UUUUUUGUH!
"I HATE THIS!" She seethed, slamming her fist into the rock so hard... it got stuck! It dug in so deep, the jagged indentions of the stone she'd just shattered dug into her doughy flesh, preventing her from pulling it up! "AND I HATE YOU TOO!" She tugged and tugged but her arm just wouldn't be freed! It was as if it REFUSED to let her out! Damn rock... damn planet and damn EVERYTHING NOW THAT SHE THOUGHT OF IT!
...Except Saibacus... he was nice... Her fit of rage paused for a moment as the image of the cute little saibamen flashed across her mind, cooling the flames that burned in her head... and reengaging the tears that ran down her cheeks... So helpless and small... so cute and gentle was he... She just wanted to cradle him to her chest forever and protect him so that he didn't disappear too... She was so afraid.... Isabella was gone... Bernael and Terra were gone... Her sister abandoned her... She... she didn't want to be alone anymore... Liari curled up into a ball on the ground, weeping softly to herself, imagining each of her friends fading to dust all around her... only she alone to face this stupid, unfair universe...
He'd been tracking a new interest the last few days. The wilds and wastelands of this world weren't anything to take on light heartedly but for someone like him he could take even some of the most harsh conditions. His people could survive conditions most would find both unbearable and unlivable. Their bodies could adjust and take such environments as they came at them. While he also felt at home among the humanoid of species in settlements and villages with the like. He couldn't help but also always feel at home and the call of the wilds. Beast and fauna were as familiar to him as anything else. Nature had a way of feeling at home to him when he traversed such environments. The target he was after was something that gnawed at his curious mind. Something truly powerful that was a king in its own right in the forests and wastes. Something of note that he just couldn't help but be drawn to in his curious hunt.
But as he continued down this path of exploration his pack and weapons secured together and held upon his back, keeping his dagger however at the ready in this thick leather belt. He found himself at first thinking he'd found a climax to his tracking only to realize when he happened about some of this new rubble and broken rocky surfaces that the damage didn't match what he'd previously seen. Nor were there any familiar tracks or other signs of the beast he'd been tailing in the last few days.
He did eventually happen upon the cause of this likely and surprised to see a familiar face attached to it. Leaping atop a rock near the curled up heap of sadness. He still found himself curiously taken by these strange beings. He'd now seen two like this and still had so very little idea of what they actually were. Creatures or aliens he'd never heard of thus far in his studies and journeys. Fascinating and thankfully usually kind from what he'd gathered so far. It didn't really suit his needs to stop and see what was happening but given the shape she seemed to be in his spirit wouldn't allow him to simply walk buy or pretend it was of no importance. She could have been hurt or in some form of danger or worse!
He looked down at her upon his rocky perch a few feet above her as he stood atop the most intact boulder like rock. "Its not exactly safe in this wastelands. The wildlife can be quite fierce... You might be safer as well as happier at some of the villages or cities further inland?" He'd ask curiously as a green brow raised and his crimson eyes studied her briefly. Looking down at her calmly from above. Of course if she'd stand up He wouldn't be that much higher up then her even on his rocky perch. "You're not harmed are you? I could offer support if you need it getting back to a settlement? Are you in need of any assistance I might be able to provide?" He'd ask curiously seeing what sorts she was in. It was enough to move him to at least wish to be of aid if he could be.
Liari jerked up the instant she heard that familiar voice... only to get pulled back down on her butt, staring up at a little saibamen, shocked she didn't sense him coming! Heh... That was probably why she couldn't find anybody... She couldn't sense energy to save her life... With that self-harming thought out of the way, the little blue majin's previously distraught expression arched upwards into a noticeably forced smile, tears still flowing down her cheeks as she used her good hand to wipe them away!
"Oh hi, mah cutie!" Liari giggled, her voice perhaps more shaky than it should've been. "Nah, don't worry about me! I just got something stuck in mah eye! Dust or something!" She again tried to stand up, completely forgetting that her hand was stuck in the ground! Again, she fell down hard on her butt much to her frustration, Liari's fake grin devolving into an aggrivated frown as she turned back to look at her ensnared arm...
"HAAAA!" She roared, energy EXPLODING from her palm, ripping apart the stone entrapping her in a powerful kaiai! Normally, such releases of power would invigorate her... encourage her to keep doing it! You know... training and stuff! Not today... She didn't have the energy for it... It was like her body was an intensely heavy body-suit that her real self was being crushed under... She could STAND weights for a long time but even Majin grew to suffer under the strain of it all...
"I was just training and stuffs and... uh... that happened!" She explained, finally drawing to her full height and walking over to the tiny green man. His concern for her was touching... but not nessesary. Majin were able to repair any damage in a matter of seconds... well... except her heart... Still, the smile she wore was a genuine one, a heavy, worn, tired smile but one nonetheless! She would gently reach out with her freshly released hand, attempting to take Saibacus's cheek in her palm her thumb gently stroking it...
"You're really nice, you know that?" Liari whispered softly, pulling her hand away only to poke his cheek! "Nah... don't worry about me. I'm just... tired..."
He observed from his boulder or stone like perch thinking to himself as she wiped away her tears with her hand. His dark crimson eyes watching her closely not really believing her words. But at the same wondering if it was his place to question them either. Sometimes one's ghost and demons were not a place to go meddling after all. He leaped nearly falling off the rock though when her power roared out as she shattered a rock that has been revealed to be pinning if not trapping her in place. He wobbled lightly but caught his balance and manage to keep himself from falling. Taking a moment to secure balance before finally speaking again. "That's quite some force you have there... Heheheh... Are you sure all is fine. This is not a safe place and if something is troubling you a safer place to grieve might be better." He'd say calmly tensing lightly when she rubbed his cheek but resisted any temptation to leap back or away. She had proven kind before even if a bit eccentric. He allowed this trust for the time being and remained still even allowing her to poke his cheek. He had to resist the urge to laugh as it had a strange innocence about it. A being so kind as this compared to what other wrought the galaxy had to offer.
"I am on a hunt for a creature but I can take some time to break camp if you'd like? I would not wish to see one left along who seems... tired alone here." Choosing his words carefully as he could tell something had bothered his sweet soul. A innocent light should not be left wounded. He knew all to well the pains of being looked past or not being seen at all. Perhaps she may have needed some company or something to help even if she didn't wish to say it just yet.
Liari truly appreciated him letting her touch him... She could sense his discomfort, something she was apparently good for. She smiled thankfully, gently reaching down to take his three-fingered hand after poking his cheek... She was always a touchy-feely majin, needing some kind of contact with someone to help calm her. Knowing that she wasn't alone... even if she could see others... To hold someone close, feel their warmth... She needed that... It was as if their presence provided her safety. In this case, she needed Saibacus. Why? She knew near nothing about him, he knew nothing about her and, to be honest, if she was in her right state of mind, she would've thought his nothing less than awkward and embarrassing! This was an emotional time, though... And she needed someone's help... Thankfully, the little green man was willing to be her helper today... He was strong so she could hug him, he was smart (if his big head didn't give it away) and he was kind... That's why she chose him. Not to mention cute... but that was a lesser reason.
"A... A hunt?" Liari asked, tilting her head to the side as she gently cradled the Saiba's hand in both her own, her silver eyes gently running over the smooth white claws. They were large... smooth and sharp... She wondered if he used these to hunt or if he used weapons like the other humans here... She wouldn't know why... his power outstripped just about everything on this planet by FAR! He could gore a Dinosaur in his sleep and still have time to butcher another one! She smiled at the thought of something so small and cute taking down something so large... "Oh! You're hungry then! I kinda am too..." Not for candy. She lost her appetite for such things when she got like this... Turned her stomach... When one lost the taste for home-made chocolate... you knew you were in it... Still, that didn't mean Saibacus didn't like it! Taking one hand from the plant-man's, she reached down into her pants where she stored her stuffs, her hand coming back out holding a few balls of tasty milk-balls!
"Here! Have one!" She offered with a weak smile, her gaze looking so tired... so weary... But there was a small glimmer of anticipation in her eye. Should Saibacus take one, she would grin happily... before tossing the rest over her shoulder and off the cliff, revealing her true feelings... No majin would EVER toss candy away like this... Something must've really been gnawing at the little blue majin... If he didn't, she'd toss them over her shoulder anyway.
"Don't worry about me!" She giggled lightly, desperate to keep the mood light... For herself and for him. "I'm strong! I don't...... hurt..... or anything!" Her breath caught in her throat on the word "hurt", almost choking her in one sudden move. It was so painful... not the choking, but the sharp, stabbing pain in her chest that came with it. Each sin that she practiced, even those as minor as a white lie stabbed her heart... Heh... so much for being strong.
"S-so... you... you don't... have... to... c-care... abo.....ut...." Her smile collapsed into the shattered expression of a mother without her child... A majin without her friends... a little girl without her sister. Tears flowed from her eyes eyes as her legs buckled beneath her, falling on her hands and knees as she sobbed softly...
"...I'm so scared...." she mumbled to nobody in particular. "...My baby... my little girl..."
He didn't pull his clawed hand away but his crimson eyes did watch her carefully. Her affection was strange to him but he gave her some trust by allowing her her to show it and hold his hand for longer then expected. He eyed her treats she offered him carefully as well. He was lost on what kind of being this woman was. She was kind and as the conversation and interactions continued he began to believe it was genuine more and more. She didn't seem the type to be putting on a act so he had little reason not to believe her. Even accepting one of her treats smirking lightly as his clawed hand touched the side of his cheek as he enjoyed the sweetness of the delight. "These are tasty, What are these?... We didn't have them where I was born." He'd find himself asking curiously.
He'd give a light nod though in confirmation she gave that she wasn't seemingly injured. It was something he wanted to establish quickly just encase she was in any danger or pain he couldn't see. Given how he found her it was a genuine worry he wanted to clarify quickly. Or at least that's what he would have thought if she didn't almost immediately after collapse into a heap of tears and sadness. It was so fast it left him severely taken back and left dumbfounded with his jaw hanging lightly open and wide crimson eyes looking upon her completely out of sorts for a few moments that felt like a eternity.
He leaped from his rock perch and landed with a light couple of feet pats in the soft dirt bellow next to her. A bit of dust kicking up but only a small smidge. He'd scratch his head lightly not quite sure what to say. He'd look around from right to left. His eyes scanning as far as they could towards each horizon wondering if who she spoke of was lost somewhere out here in this hazardous wasteland. It would have certainly explained her frantic quick to take over nature. Turning back to her after a moment patting her lightly on the shoulder not wanting to do to much to worsen her frantic episode.
"Did you lose them out here? I'm not sure quite what's wrong. Tell me what you need help with my friend." He'd say as a soft clawed hand held upon her shoulder briefly. They hard material that made up his hand almost feeling soft or comforting if she accepted his light touch. Trying to help her as best he could.
With Saibacus' retreat, Liari was alone in the world again, her scope of it shrinking to only the air that touched her skin. It was crushing, the distance between her and her little baby majin. It was as if the world around her was crushing the soft, vulnerable Liari into a bottle and that wasn't any light metaphor... she knew exactly how confining and powerless it can make one feel... She didn't know how long she knelt there in the dirt, sobbing her poor wounded heart out, time not being one of those few things that she kept within her shrunken perception of the world. It was only when something new entered it, a 3 fingered hand gently touching her shoulder did she look up, the concerned... almost noble expression of the green alien staring back at her.
She raised her head slightly, her silver eyes staring deep into Saibacus' red ones, a shaky blue hand reaching for the one that touched her shoulder... If he let her, she would take it in her own again, her touch as gentle and soft as the clouds that hovered above them, a soft tug coaxing the little saibaman into her arms. She didn't want to be alone... she didn't want any distance between her and him... Liari had died, felt the agony of being burnt cell by cell into oblivion but never had she felt more afraid than for the little girl she had created to be her child... Perhaps it was Saibacus's cute, child-like stature or maybe the way he talked but his presence reminded her a lot of her dear daughter. To hold him in her arms was almost like holding her in her arms. That was one of the reasons she took so much comfort in his closeness, but also because he CARED... This wasn't the first time she just... broke down in front of someone... but it felt like the first time someone stopped to care, let alone offer to help her! Most people just walked past her, sometimes stopping only to wonder the hell is wrong with her??
If Saibacus let her, she would pull him against her chest akin to the way a mother would gently coax a child into her embrace. She would hold him there, her tears gently rolling down her cheeks, dripping off her chin...
"...My daughter... Terra..." She whispered, her jaw quaking at the mere mention of her name. "I... She... I don't know where she is... She's... gone..." A shiver washed over her body as if the arctic itself had fallen upon them... Strangely, it felt... better speaking her plights to someone... even if it was a short green-guy she'd only met one other time... It... it reminded her of better times a long time ago... back before her sister abandoned her...
"I... We... fell asleep together on a planet... Namek... And... She wasn't there.... when I woke up..." Her words quaked, wavered with fragility but they still came... interrupted only by the shaky gasps for breath and heart-torn sobs of a mother without her baby. "...I looked everywhere there... S-so... I came here... I... I don't know what to do...."
He accepted her initial touch and her embrace as well even if he felt a bit strange about it. Being one of born into woe and pain of this world he was quick to recognize another struggling soul. One of strange being that were seen as different to most other kind of this galaxy. Once he was in her embrace though getting out of it seemed to be proving quite difficult. She held him close lovingly almost coddling him. He was aware of her tears and the intense emotion running through spilling in the form of tears and saddened words of her lost child. The loss of something so dear was something he didn't know directly but he could still feel empathy all the same for such a dreadful situation she had befallen to.
He'd feel a bit nervous and timid trapped in her sorrowful grasp. But while there when her breathe remained shaken as was her body and movements. He tried to pat her on the back lightly with his arm under hers in the embrace. "I'm sure you'll find her, I haven't seen many of your kind in my travels in fact I've only ever seen two to be honest. I imagine if you ask around to those of importance in power of this planet they may have seen her. If she's like you it might have garnished some attention after all." He'd say in positive intention. Trying to hopefully boost her spirit and optimism for a positive outcome to her plight.
Liari smiled, if very weakly at the little green man's attempts to console her... She didn't NOT believe him or anything... But she had already done so much to look for her on her own... Her little girl never ventured far from her so... Who could possibly know what she looked like? Liari was the only one that truly did! He... He was sweet for trying though... It meant a lot to her that he tried... The lonely blue majin cradled Saibacus in her arms gently staring over the horizon as she did so, taking some minor comfort in his warmth... his presence. With so many of her friends either gone or... dead possibly, she didn't have anyone she could hold, anyone to say that it'd be alright in the end... This was the best she could hope for. At least it was something. She glanced down at the little Saibaman, wondering how he felt in her embrace... He didn't struggle against her or voice protests... Was he afraid to do so...? Did he think that she would hurt him? Her expression fell into one of confusion... analyzing his features and body-language before slowly loosening her arms, allowing the little man to slip free if he so desired.
"I... Maybe..." She sighed heavily. Should Saibacus leave her embrace, she would run her fingers through her tentacle-hair, glancing off to the side as her other hand brushed away the tears that stained her deep blue cheeks. "I dunno who's in charge... everyone looks and feels the same... Do you know?" Her silver eyes met his sanguine ones, almost hopeful, before returning to that side-space off in the distance. What were the odds he knew who to ask? What were the odds they would find her little girl...? She didn't know... God, she wanted to do something but she didn't know what! It was like her mind was tearing itself apart trying to come up with some kind of PLAN! ...And then she saw the little saiba-creature and she smiled, a little peace extracted from his adorable little face. It reminded her so much of Terra somehow... She had no idea why... maybe it was just because they were short... blah... Whatever... did it matter...?
"...Thank you..." She murmured, offering Saibacus her hand. It wasn't as if she expected him to shake it or anything... but so he could hold it. To her, it was a sign of friendship... endearment even... She was always so touchy-feely and she wanted to remember him... Taking his hand would help her do that... to remember his texture, his face, his voice. "...I don't even know anything... Nobody even bothered to talk to me or even offer me help like you have... Thank you..." She smiled a little wider, her heart aching with the stretching of her lips but she cared not. Gradually, Liari's breathing came under control, her shivers relaxing as she just stared at the little green creature she held (or not).
Ah... That was why he calmed her so...
To hold something close... to claim it as your baby... to feel the connection of your hearts... This was almost like reliving the memory of when Liari first held her daughter... curled up in her arms as they cried out for one another, clinging desperately for the person they loved so unconditionally. When she held the little Saiba, it was like then... when her heart truly bloomed... and felt love for the first time...
"H-hey... so..." She muttered, shaking away the memories of her daughter before they rotted into something painful. "I know I'm kinda weird... different... But... can I just... Do things with you...? Hunt or something...? I need... to not be here anymore..."
He shook his head simply at who was in charge. As he himself was new to this planet and still gaining a foot hold upon the understanding of everything as a whole and at large. "I'm afraid the best I can tell you is there are protectors to a tower in the distances, And a military force that goes by the name of the Red Ribbon. But I know very little I'm afraid beyond that. But if you seek them out and genuinely ask for assistance I'm sure they may at least hear you out. " He simply chuckled at her requests as well after. A lonely heart and wanderer could easily spot a fellow lonesome soul. "I'm on the hunt for a large beast but that is a path I must walk alone. But besides that I need to hunt for more meat for my pack and travels. I've been avoiding most villages and settlements to avoid making any commotion by accident if the people worry upon seeing me. So I need to remain well stocked upon my provisions self gathered by yours truly. If you'd like you may walk with me help me gather herbs, or mushrooms. An if were lucky maybe hunt some good wild meat." He'd give her a warm smile at the proposition he'd laid out before her.
