Emptiness. That’s what he felt, but at the same time a familiar feeling, or rather memory rumbled in his sleep; pain, adrenaline, and exhilaration. Almost as if there was more than what he could expect going on beyond his mind and just like that several jets of lava exploded in bursts, splitting the ground in half before everything turned black. Silence. There was nothing more, not even himself-- all he could see was the void, but then...!
“Woa—!”
The Earthling Saiyan had fallen on the ground, laying on his back before he turned and let an eye open only to see the greenness of the grass he was lying on. His head hurt, and in reaction to that, he immediately opened both eyes and took a firm grasp of his head with both hands. “What the… Holy— my head!” - he mumbled under his breath before he sat down, scratching his head as he came to his sense and woke up from his slumber. “Seriously, can’t I even stay still on my bed?... I mean--...w-wait!” - he thought to himself, taking note of his surroundings; a beach… and a palm tree.
“W-why am I even here…” - he inquired, blinking slowly as he stood up, letting out a muffled yawn as he stretched. He literally had no idea of what was going on, even if he could tell he was not supposed to be there; what he remembered from last night was that… he didn’t actually remember anything, and yet he was sleeping in the middle of nowhere. Wait, what was up with this?
He had left with Super Shenron and was on in his tracks, why was he here all of a sudden— had the dragon perhaps deemed him worthy of a stop here? He couldn’t exactly tell what Shenron had in mind, but regardless, he certainly did not recall having to visit there. Although, he could gather that he fell from the palm tree— almost as if he had descended from the skies and happened to rest on top of the tree, somehow.
Either way, one thing was certain; everything felt different. It was not another planet, it was definitely Earth, but at the same time, there was a strange feeling in the air. As if he had never been there, but it was pretty much close to home. He let his shoulders raise in a shrug as he literally just shrugged the matter off, there was close to no reason for him to be feeling that way.
“Man, what a weird dream… whatever that was supposed to be. I can’t actually remember what it was about.” - he sighed before he just gave it up and returned a smile to himself as he scratched the back of his neck. But as the male lifted his gaze up to the sky in wonder, it was about to get a little dark, but thankfully it wasn’t too late to be precise! Yet, it was such a beautiful sky.
Cornatto himself couldn’t help but stare at it in wonder with his eyes wandering from one star to the other, evidently confused but soon coming to realization.
“I sure missed seeing this place. I wonder how the others are doing… but, I can’t sense anyone. Well, Kabocha is not here… nor is the old man. They must be out, I guess,” - that was the first thought of the man, not that he’d know why the old man would be out of his household at all, but, who knew! How were his friends even faring? It wasn’t like he had said much about that dragon thing, but he was sure they were mostly okay. Hopefully. He also felt completely refreshed within his bust. It was as if a lot of weight had just been pushed off his shoulders.
Maybe it was just how it felt to be on an actual world after a while. Plus, after that whole competition. He could still remember every moment of it clearly but his mind simply dropped each fragment, addressing it to pass for the moment and left the Saiyan to smile at the starred sky. Cornatto himself couldn’t help it but finally breathe now that this story was over but it was merely the end of the journey. From now on, his goals had only increased but at the same time, he was gonna take it with his pace so that he could prioritize things.
It wouldn’t have certainly been easy, but he believed in himself. He knew he could do it, it was there; in his heart. In his spirit, he could hear a voice that would tell him to go forward and continue with no regrets or half-decisions, for him to continue to be who he had always been but to go ahead and strive to improve himself.
He could only go up from here. It would have then been up to him to decide where to be, at this point.
“Hmmm. I still don’t understand why I am here, though. There’s nothing wrong about this place. No baddies, seriously nothing… why did Shenron send me here?”
The male’s muscular figure finally stood from his sitting position and stretched out. At that moment, though, he could feel a ki signature getting closer and it was familiar at that! The man gazed out with a drop of curiosity in his orbs, mostly because it was an aura he knew too well, but could not quite connect the dot: how could this be?
This was the living world, right? Then why was he sensing Tomoroko approaching? He thought she couldn’t be revived? Cornatto stared with wide eyes until he finally saw the trail of her aura approaching; it was actually her! Damn. He must have missed a lot, then, he didn’t exactly know too much what had been going on other than some big facts here and there, but, well, that was relieving to know!
Cornatto didn’t hesitate to lift a hand as a signal— wave, whatever!
“Hey, Tomo! Over here!” - exclaimed the man before he rested his hand once more on his forehead, almost to cover any trace of dying sunlight to cover his sight and focus on the figure on the woman.
“What are you doing here?! It’s been a while. How— Like, how are you even alive?! That's amazing!”
Tomo had come to Earth shortly after she had been revived. She had first gone to planet Namek to spend some time with her sons, and as she did so, found out that a child she had long since thought dead was in fact stil alive and right there on Namek! Tokibi... the son she had sired with her team Captain from her days within the saiyan empire... She had so much t d to make it up to him... but ever since she had made it known that she was his mother he refused to see her. He needed space, and she could respect that. He was a grown man now after-all, he didn't need his mother... neither did Komatsu or Nasu. so she had decided instead t cme to Earth in search of this reincarnation of Natto. She had no specific details as to whom they were, but if he would be anywhere, it was most likely Earth (Seeing as their home had been destroyed).
As she flew over the skies of Earth's beautiful new islands, she reached out with her senses to see if she couldn't find an energy signature that was at least a little similar to Natto's. So far, no luck... however she did sense something quite interesting, and before she could even act on it, the owner of that energy signature came into view and waved her down, calling up to her and over-all looking like the big ol goof he always did. Cornatto.
She soared down from the skies, coming in for a landing in front of the saiyan. The last time she had seen him, Cornatto had also been dead and the two spent some time retraining Tomoroko in the Soy School style. It wasn't long after that, that Cornatto was forced to leave in search of warriors for the tournament of power. Honestly she felt like the Universe was against her getting her power back...
"Cornatto, I thought you were still dead. I guess it makes sense though. Uh... How? Well Tomina wished for Super Shenron to revive everyone within the last 15 years who was good to be revived. So I guess that meant me too. Guess I wasn't all that bad after-all hunh?" She asked in an attempt to make light of the situation of her revival. It was still weird for her to be alive... it felt alien to her to feel the blood rushing through her veins again, the sheer addiction the adrenaline of battle gave her once more... She wondered just how many sensations she had forgotten since being dead.
The Earthling Saiyan arched an eyebrow in an unexpected feeling of amusement. “Dead?” - were the letters that the man spelt from his mouth, as he was surprised to even hear the mention of such a word. Did people seriously think he was dead? Maybe he couldn’t blame them; he did disappear for a while, without too much of a warning. Yeah, he should have probably waved over or something, but well, thankfully he was far from death!
“I haven’t been dead in a while!— Since, y’know, we met after all those years and everything, but yeah, no worries,” - said the man before he let his shoulders raise for the slightest of moments in a careless motion. “I can kind of see why you’d think that. I should have probably mentioned I was leaving with the dragon. My bad!” - he exclaimed with just one of his brow furrowed and a smile that pressed against the side of his mouth almost in an apologetic manner.
Tomo, though, did bring up an interesting point when it came to Tomina’s role in her revival. To be precise, the resurrection of every individual of good-will that had lost their life in the latest fifteen years. Now, that was something that was beyond the small confusion Corn had received earlier— this was actually shocking. Not for the wish itself, but rather the wisher.
“Tomina, wait, we talkin’ about that Tomina, right?”
He interrupted, almost in a joking way, but like, he couldn’t actually believe it for a moment but, then again, the kid did prove herself to be a lot more than just a grumpy Kingdom Saiyan soldier, so, maybe it was possible.
“Just wow. Just wait until the next time I see that girl— I am definitely gonna nag her about that!” - he chuckled briefly before he waved it away with his hand; not like he would honestly make fun of her, it was just… such a good action and everything for someone he had observed to be rather far from such a behavior but, then again, people were a lot more than what they looked like, right?
The Saiyan woman did also give herself some space in the sentence as she pointed out about how apparently she was ‘a good girl’, or well, not literally that, but that was mostly the sense of it and, well, it was quite a comfortable attempt at ending the speech with a light-hearted joke. He could appreciate that, yeah! Though, he also did reply similarly to her tone.
“You ever been bad before? I still haven’t gotten to see that— True, though, I don’t know what you were up to before we met, but hey, you’ve been a nice person for as much time as I’ve known you. Like, uh,” - he paused briefly and rested a hand on his hips, as a little support while his hand proceeded to do the gestures that followed his words all the during his face formed a smile. “You did cheer on me during the tournament, I remember that! Thanks about that; it was nice to feel that I can count on you.”
An abrupt silence followed from the man’s side, as he didn’t quite know what to add as his mind blanked for a moment but it did recover and the Saiyan brought back the topic he had previously mentioned. “In more ways than one, too! You’ve grown a lot stronger since we fought— you gonna keep that power to yourself or are you gonna show it to me?” - blasted out the man in a full out challenge towards Tomoroko with a confident smile. “I remind you we still have some lessons to go over, Tomo.”
If Tomoroko was in search of sensations that would have made her feel alive, then the Turtle Hermit had two fists ready to make her feel them all.
"..." Tomoroko had to pause and really think about the fact that Cornatto hadn't been dead for some time as he claimed. She thought back to the tournament of power, and admittedly she was far more concentrated on her on sons, even though she had been cheering for Cornatto as well, particularly in the beginning. She crossed her arms and scrunched up her face, thinking heavily on the tournament and then suddenly just laughed nervously.
"I guess I just didn't notice that your halo was gone during the tournament of power! hahahaha, oops! I really didn't get to see you since we met on King Kai's world, so I really had no idea you had been brought back! Sorry about that! And uh... left with the Dragon? What Dragon? What are you on about?" She said cheerily, her tone turning to curiosity as he mentioned leaving with some sort of Dragon. That didn't make any sense to her... the only Dragon's she knew of were Demon's... so had Cornatto gone off to fight the Demons or something? She just tilted her head curiously when the idea of Tomina's wish interrupted her. Corn didn't seem to be able to believe the fact that she, of all people, wished back all of the GOOD souls... to which Tomoroko just smiled and nodded.
"Tell me about it... What a kid, honestly I thought she'd be a lot more... evil you know? I treated her so badly when we first met and I kind of feel guilty about that now... hehehe" Tomo would give a nervous chuckle, her hand flying up to the back of her neck as she thought back on Tomina and her encounters with the girl. She really thought she would be a lot more like Lettis, but her persona was so different, so unique, that it caught her by surprise... She hadn't spoken to the girl since, and wondered what it was like for her now in the Kingdom.
Then Cornatto asked if she'd ever been bad before and Tomoroko rolled her eyes at the comment. Of course she'd been bad! Depending on how you looked at things, she did start a whole damn war on her own species after-all! Besides that, she had been an Empire saiyan and had done what she needed too as a grunt of the army back in the day. Instead of admitting to that however, the saiyaness would just grin and wink towards Corn.
"I guess you'll just have to find out how bad I've been won't you?? I've done my fair share~" She immediately paused though when Corn countered with the fact that he could always count on her, just for cheering him on during the tournament. Her cheeks flushes and she immediately cleared her throat, crossing her arms again and looking away from him as if to wave it off... Her ears would suddenly perk though as he challenged her to show him the extent of her power. She would give him a sideways glance, her mouth twitching back into a smirk though you could tell she was trying to remain serious. Had she really grown so cold in her death?
"Oh yeah, I'll show you alright. Just don't start crying when I beat you this time~" She sneered, and without warning kicked off from the ground where she was standing. The adrenaline at just the thought of a battle was intense... she just wanted to keep her fists swinging all of a sudden! So she would do just that, lunging in with no plan, swinging her fists at the now older saiyan in a flurry of strikes.

Corn chuckled briefly, he just shook his head in response to the dragon. “Nothing too important! I’ll tell you some other time,” - he said but, though, he did really agree with Tomo; that girl’s alignment was indeed a mystery, but, he believed that she was more than just Lettis for sure.
“Yeah, I know! Well— I didn’t really treat her bad. I had a little of that idea with Nasu, but, he’s definitely an amazing guy. You should be proud of him!”
The moment Cornatto asked out for Tomo’s ‘doings’ in the world had come almost as something obvious to the girl; not that Corn really knew much about what Tomo used to do, honestly, he was out there doing stuff on Earth or with his old friends on some Galactic Patrol squadron, but really, he wasn’t that much informed! Though, if anything, he guessed that they had been blessed that she had turned her path a little straighter then!
Or did she? There was still a war and everything, but, it was still kind of just, in the past and perhaps, in the end, Corn didn’t see it as a necessary evil, but maybe, he didn’t exactly know any and all details in its regards, but rather, he only saw it as a way the Alliance expressed its needs to prevail and allow not for the Empire’s existence which only gave the Saiyans a bad reputation.
If anything, though, whatever she might have done in the Empire, he believed her to be quite the likable person. Maybe a little too much, though, just like the moment she winked at him and shot that sentence at him, that— admittedly blew like compressed air exploding right in front of Cornatto and had him widen his eyes and let out a little bit of a nervous laugh in response.
“I am— all for it, yeah, haha...”
It did feel this warmth scratch a little against the surface of his face but, he immediately tried to fluff it away with a little thing about how he noticed her cheering on him, at least that bit, and well, maybe it just got things a little worse than what he had expected and instead had both of them be silent and well— maybe embarrassed until the spirits were cooled off, or were they— though, by the indication of Tomoroko’s strength.
However, both Saiyan spirits fired up once more at the mention of a little contest; definitely not expected, huh? But what would you have seen it coming from Corn? He would have liked to gauge his old friend’s power! No, he definitely wanted to, actually, she felt stronger than she did in the afterlife, after all.
He smirked. “No promise,” - he responded before she finally decided to start things out with a flurry of attacks, as a few of them sent Corn backward with the sore sensation of her fists over his torso until he lifted up both his fists to clash against hers— each of them put together with their forces and had the man starting to like this as she was going all out: no trying to kill somebody, no drama, nothing serious— just two people enjoying the hell out of a battle!
“Woo, hey— put more of it into these! Burst it all out!” - he exclaimed. Somehow he could feel that Tomo could give more, maybe she had become a little numb because of the time she spent in the world of the dead, but if anything, Corn was gonna pull her out of that shell, but that, too, brought him to the fact that so far, he was only taking in her hits— so, he thought, it’d be time to have a little fun!
“Let’s see how you’re gonna deal with this!”
He brought his hands down, to cause a little impact against her strikes, for him to break the hold just momentarily and quite literally spun on her feet and moved sideways, for him to attempt and grip on her arm as a lever before he adjusted his body front against her back and tried to go for her other arm, for his arms to extend down her armpits before clenching his limbs and lock her upper arm with his forearms— he was basically going for a grapple from behind, holding her tight enough against him to see if she could muster up enough strength to escape.
Her strikes were definitely hitting their target, but doing next to nothing against the bulkier man who retaliated with punches or his own. Their fists would collide and Tomoroko would audibly huff as he told her to put more effort into her strikes. She was putting in all the effort she could in her base form... but he was right in assuming she had grown a little numb from being dead so long... Her strikes just didn't feel right... and it anything they hurt her more than they hurt him. She'd frown at that as she pushed as hard as she could against his fists but found the connection slip as he broke their contact and slipped away from her. She would stumble forward from the sudden action that cost her dearly. Corn would grab hold of her arm and used it to turn her around, bringing himself forward and closing the gap between them. She brought her free arm back, aiming to elbow him in the face but he quickly grabbed that arm as well, lowering it and holding her in a tight grapple...
One that found their connected arms pushing up against her chest which make Tomo tense up as another long forgotten sensation began to make itself known. Her face continued to flush as she tugged against Corn's grip, attempting to break free any way she knew how, even going as far as to attempt to stomp on his feet or trying to wriggle her tail free to get some kind of leverage... though as close as they were, it did little more than rub up against Cornatto.
"Fine fine, let's see you deal with this!" She huffed as her suppressed power surged into a blazing golden energy. Her hair snapped to a golden blonde and her eyes turned teal within a moment. She would flex and push her arms outwards in an attempt to shove Cornatto off of her.
The action that took place was quite swift and also involving; not that the two hadn’t fought before, but at least, Corn was enjoying this. It had been a while since he had risen his fists and as much as this was just something friendly. Well, it could be fun. Maybe it was Tomo who could be that enticing, no idea. It was hard to tell, honestly, knowing the guy and his liking to battle.
But regardless, though, there was a certain point during the battle that Cornatto figured out he’d go ahead and try out something a little different. Maybe a test of strength, yeah, one could consider it that but in the same capacity, maybe it was just to make her unleash out her full strength, after all.
What the Earthling Saiyan did was literally just grab her and then he kept her still, that was about it. Yet, such a little action could bring so many consequences— and feelings. No literally. For soon enough, in the man’s consciousness sneaked a weird sense of… warmth. Almost as if his chest had begun to burn within at the movements of the Saiyan woman that pretty much had her stroking against his body.
She went as far as stomping his feet, but that did little given the leverage and the difference in power.
And then, she tried with her tail.
And she did get something, but not what she had expected. He pretty much felt goosebumps from bottom to top the moment the two ‘entities’ collided and as she continued, he simply started to get redder— as he sweated a little and sort of, tried to back away.
“W-wait, hold on over there with that thing, Tomo!”
A few moments later, though, she pulled out her trump card: the Super Saiyan and finally she freed herself from his grasp as he was pushed back somewhat, but yet he braced himself and smirked.
“Alright! Okay, let’s see how you deal with this…”
The man closed his fists tightly and roared to the top of his lungs his next words.
“KAIOKEN TIMES TEN!!”
He unleashed a crimson aura as he was now empowered beyond his base power and pretty much gestured at Tomoroko to come at him. “I’ll only use the Kaioken for now. I can’t hold this forever, so you have a window at beating me. Let me see what you’re gonna do with that now!”
With their bodies finally freed from one another, Tomoroko leaped forward to create sme distance between herself and Cornatto, then turning on her heel to face him again. Her empowered, teal gaze did nothing t hide the red that had appeared all over Tomoroko's face... it had been so long since she had actually needed to try and get a rise out of Natto that she hadn't put much thought into her actions into that regard... but whenever Cornatto had protested against the movements of her tail, she became very well aware of what she had done, and the fur on the end of said tail was standing on end as she faced off against him.
"Kaioken..." One thing after another, wasn't it? That technique... that damned technique which taunted saiyans to push their limits... tempted them to break their bodies and their spirits all in the pursuit of power... Her embarrassed gaze turned to one of anger, her fists clenching tightly as she could have sworn she briefly saw Natto's image in front of her... his body being torn apart as he attempted to push Kaioken to one hundred times...
"Don't rely on that... That damned technique is why Natto is gone! ONLY use Kaioken?! I'd rather fight you with your own power! That will rip you to shreds!" She yelled at him now, her anger rising just at the sight of the technique taught by the Northern Kai... A technique she had once pleaded him to learn. She had to get Cornatto to drop that technique at any cost, and as angry as she now was, that meant beating him out of it.
she would dig her toes into the ground, using it to dart back towards Cornatto with all of her Fully Powered Super Saiyan Speed. As soon as she got close enough to Cornatto that she could hand a punch, her fists and feet would begin to glow red as she began to wail on him with everything she had, infusing every hit with her atomic strike technique.
