Mac Cogadh woke up in a soft bed. He stretched his arm and a half and threw the covers off himself. He rolled out of bed and sat on the edge of it, rubbing his neck, partly wanting to go back to bed. The demon forced himself to get up and find some old clothes in the vast array of closets and drawers that was in his room. He eventually found a torn white shirt with the sleeves cut off, which fit his body very tightly, as well as some gym shorts that fit just right. The hellspawn put on his mechanical arm and then walked out of his room. He explored the mansion for a while, not bothering in going to the kitchen. It seemed that there was no one in the mansion.
‘Maybe Zero is out doing something? Or maybe he’s in the gravity chamber.’ The half-breed walked to the gravity room, finding that it was dead, no one inside of it. The hybrid turned the lights on and walked about the circular room before heading on over to the panel. ‘The technology is very intricate,’ he thought to himself. Mac Cogadh stared at the panel, wondering how it all worked. He shrugged and decided that he should do a warm-up session before he started doing anything too drastic.
The demon walked a few ways from the machine and started doing some jumping jacks. He did two sets of fifteen, which to him didn’t take too long. Then, he did two sets of fourteen incline push-ups, followed by twelve knee push-ups, ten regular push-ups, two sets of ten wide arm push-ups, twelve box push-ups, and ten Hindu push-ups. Mac Cogadh ended the workout with twenty seconds of the cobra stretch and twenty seconds of the chest stretch. The demon rolled his shoulders and walked over to the gravity machine panel. He studied it, seeing where all the appropriate buttons were. Once he got an inkling of how it worked, the demon pushed the times ten gravity button.
Immediately, he felt the gravity in the room grow heavy on him. Mac Cogadh found it hard to stand up and had to brace his feet wide as to not fall over. “Damn, training in this will be tough. I wonder if Zero has already done this?” The hybrid turned around, his feet landing hard on the floor as he walked away from the panel. ‘I need to learn how to move in such a condition. It will make me faster, that’s for sure.’ For six hours, Mac Cogadh walked around the room while doing five push-ups every twenty minutes. By then, Mac had collapsed onto the floor and was panting hard. He could feel the gravity still weighing upon him. The half-demon struggled to get up, his arms burning and his legs aching. When he finally stood up, the hybrid swayed, trying not to fall over again. This time, he stood up more, almost to where he could stand up fully right.
The hellspawn walked over to a workout bench and sat down, resting for a short while. After he caught his breath, the demon stood up and began to place weights onto the barbell. He placed four forty-five-pound plates on either side and adjusted the bench, so it was at an incline. He grabbed onto the bar and lifted it up, feeling the heavy weight of it bearing it down on his arms. He brought the bar down to his chest and slowly lifted it up, doing three sets of twenty before putting it back onto its original resting place. Then, Mac Cogadh lowered the workout bench to where it was at a decline and adjusting the bar’s resting place to where he can grab it better. Then, he did another three sets of twenty before putting the bar back onto its original place. Lastly, Mac Cogadh tied six forty-five-pound weights to his waist and found a bar that he could do pull ups and chin ups on. The weights were to act as if he was heavier so that he could easily lift himself up from a ledge. Mac did one hundred chin-ups (fifty with both hands and another fifty alternating between using only one hand) and one hundred pull-ups (fifty with both hands and anther fifty alternating between using only one hand) before he dropped down from the bar. He landed on his feet and immediately fell to the floor, the weights bearing down on his body. Mac Cogadh rolled over and began to undo the weights from his body before he rolled back over onto his back and started another rest.
Mac Cogadh sat up, not knowing how long he has been in the chamber for. He looked a clock that was on the gravity chamber panel. He noticed that about nine hours have passed since he had entered. ‘I have to do something else now,’ he thought to himself as he stood up. ‘Guess I’ll jog around the chamber.’ Mac strapped some more weights to him to weigh himself down and began to jog around the room, having his feet land lightly on the floor. After about thirty minutes of doing this, he began to get dizzy and decided to go back to the barbell. Mac Cogadh could feel that he was getting used to the gravity, so he fixed the barbell’s resting place to where he could lift it with his shoulders. The demon added four forty-five-pound weights and lifted the barbell above his head. He brought it back down slowly and then lifted it back up. Mac Cogadh did this for another sixty times before he was satisfied that he was used to the gravity. To test himself, the demon started to fly around the room for about thirty minutes, securing that he was used to it at all. Before he left, Mac Cogadh changed the gravity back to zero and felt lighter than ever. He noticed as he walked out of the room, that he was moving at a much faster pace than ever.
