A small den had been carved out of some caves in a nearby rocky mountain side a small journey from Jingle village. A place where a new gathering of a growing problem in several cities had been becoming a small scourge. Not big enough to attract any attention of those that would truly matter in the grand scope of things. But enough to stir trouble on a street level of crime in some areas, large groups of disappearances in others. Robbery, drug use, and sexual deviance a rampage of a group or perhaps a cult. Hooded beings speaking of gods light and being chosen. Humans believing they were drawn into something or had seen powers like that of which must have brought them back after that deadly day more then two years ago now. Many of the worlds most frail and weak minds willing to grip onto any excuse when approached by those with answers or possibly comforts. Once they began giving into these groups ways it was simply their desires they took to heard. Willing to harm others and use what means they had to too achieve what they wanted or desired.
People were always like cattle in the true scope of things. Those with weakened resolve after returning to life in such a strange ways had simply become the easier to lead with the proper smack of a shepherds staff. A being testing how easy it was to bend minds or more so get them to accept their more baser instincts. They found a being with magic and powers like few they had seen or heard stories of before. A being who could also summon waves of massive power compared to themselves. A god many of them believed especially those who had issues in their minds of coping with what happened as well as their own revivals.
So far their leader had never been seen only heard of. Tales ranging from that of a robed man who could hide in the shadows like a spirit. Some stating he was as a dragon of massive height. Others spoke of a magical creatures with ensatiable appetites for all things of the flesh and treasure. However finding him always proved difficult as most these humans that chose to follow him did not go easily into custody. Those that were captured became haunted by nightmares and speaking as if his voice was always in their head. The small groups that were taken alive either seemed to suffered severe mental breakdowns after being captured or committed suicide through various means. But it never exceeded beyond small groups each almost seeming independent from the others. It was kept to a degree to not arouse the true rulers of this planet. Anytime things got to bad it could be weeks before activity was even heard of again from such a group.
What few groups had actually been found always had strangely lavish hideouts in the most unexpected places. Gold and jewels filling their bases as well as drugs the like were not native to the mortal lands. Books of lies created to speak of false gods and other rituals. It would be hard to prove or know for sure but the dark truth was these books meant nothing... They were simply story books to help shape what the creator of them wished to see the humans do. At times even small carvings or statuettes of a dragon like beast was found from time to time. It was always a relatively good show to see just how far the human mind could bend to the will of one greater then themselves. A race that often spoke and acted as if it wanted freedom but the responsibly of such a thing was often to great to bare coupled with the strange effects of their revival. IT left them susceptible to so many things with the right person pulling the strings.
But those were past groups most of which had been taken away what few still lived captured by what few had been paying attention. However the current hiding group held their savior among them at present. The cave they held in was a series of tunnel and large open caverns deep within for various congregations. Many of the youth of the mostly isolated jingle village had been pulled into its sway as well. The caverns having become a cesspool of heavy drug use and sexual arts. To enter would appear as something from a old horror story. Chanting of a dark arts that would be similar to a language of demons. A mere imitation though and just like their special creed and text was simply meaningless in truth.
It would appear on the inside to be a place setup to sustain life for some time. Food and other supplies stockpiled similar to other places to allow people to thrive for sometime. Using places like this in the past to house and base themselves in between their strange acts. It was never easy to really tell they'd manifest as the truth they were meant to see or actions it would inspire them to take from the following they had joined. The armed groups all carried on with their planning or ritual acts within believing this was all some truly chosen path for them. The caverns seeming to grow more fine and decorated the further one went in it would appear as if it was leading to something more grand further in.
It had only been a few months now since Lucy had claimed the mantle of a Hero, choosing to protect the people of Earth with whatever powers she could muster within her. She knew who she was, she knew that she was created by the evil Demon Queen and made no effort to hide that fact. She wanted people to see that even though she was born from evil, that didn't mean she was evil herself. She wanted them to see what good a 'Demon spawn' could do for the planet Earth. She loved this world... having grown up and seen many of it's people grow, watched as the world crumbled only to be reborn again... she'd never seen anything more beautiful than the people of this planet, and she wanted to protect them with all her heart.
Hence the cape. She had chosen to don the cape in an attempt to sate the people who watched her, to let them see that she wanted to be a face the villains would be wary of. Now with her new found name came new found responsibilities...
One of the many cases that Lucy tackled was that of a rising cult. Again and again this same cult would rise, and any time someone found out abuot them, captured them or otherwise interfered, the cultists would start to die, either by their own hands or some mysterious force. She had heard rumors, and whispers from one town to the next that had led her to this mountainside. She flew up the side of the mountain, staying close to it so that she didn't draw any attention to herself, and landed on one of the ledges that would lead her within. She could hear chanting coming from the inside, and chose for the moment to stay outside, crouching behind one of the larger boulders, suppressing her Ki energy and waiting.
She waited for what seemed like hours before a handful of cultists stepped outside. She analysed their clothing, their faces, every aspect of them... but didn't go after them... not yet. The cultists wouldn't stop unless the leader was captured, and so she needed to be patient and find that person first. When those cultists vanished from her view, her body began to shift, her features changing as well as her clothes. She began to take the form of one of the cultist women she had just seen walk off, mimicking everything down to the jewellery she wore. With her disguise in place, she calmed with an air of confidence into the cave, not second guessing herself as she made her way down the halls, following the sound of the chants.
'I hope this isn't a mistake... It's such a bit cave... I might not be strong enough to get out of this cave on my own if he's stronger than me this time...'
Halls of lust and vanity carried throughout. The wailing of chants and hopeful eyes praising an oath and supposedly sacred words. The further one went in the actions not only seemed to appear more forbidden but the chant seemed to bounce of every halls walls and made the place seem almost a true place of worship. The robed figures at least those that were clothed carried out various rituals. The artifacts they were carrying and praising were things twisted and dark. Creations that were not of this world and gave off a demonic presence. Creations stolen some from the demon realm, others created from magic, a few others odd statuettes baring the mark of the cerulean past.
People whispered along the girls path about the past destruction of the planet and their lives restored. Their eyes all different as some were taken by faith, Others clearly just grasping at straws for anything to believe for what really happened. Some more fragile minds having trouble making sense of what all had happened those two years prior. Weaker minds had been broken and or warped. Some of them seemed to believe their leader had been the cause of their rebirth. Others spoke of some prophecy that was like destiny that had predicted all of this to come and pass. A few even seemed to think it was the demons that aided then and they were in fact the true gods.
The chanting would only grow in volume, faith, and severity the further she'd go in. The cave itself as well becoming more styled of architecture. The creation of this maze like place in itself seemed as unnatural as some of the artifacts found throughout its halls. If she continued this way she'd eventually come across the grand hall that connected to some private chambers. A hall of more finely robbed people as well as someone in a green hooded rob that gave off a empowered presence. If she'd been paying attention from prior incidents involving the cold. Even loosely related as it was hard to tie all the past incidents together she'd possibly recognize a few faces. A sheriff or two as well as a mayor hear and there. Various people of minor power from a few of the towns and places activity had happened. An Idea of the light web that had been weaved by the spider that controlled it all becoming ever more clear.
"Great destruction precedes great rebirth. You'll all soon see you were reborn as the chosen. There is a reason in your destruction... You have risen from the dead! Empowered from loss and eradication... You all have a destiny that not even the greatest powers of the galaxy were able to stop. I as your Shepard and will show you all the way." A man could be heard speaking not far off to a smaller group of the better dressed cultists. "Fear not death as you've already seen it cannot stop you or the true path of fate. You have risen once and if needed you will rise again! Not even death can stop the truth my children."
This cave wasn't getting any better... the further down the rabbit hole she went the more disturbing things became... She just rushed passed as much of it as she could however, marking the walls with a tiny emblem to help her find her way out as she passed... but soon she would come across a sort of main hall where quite a few people were gathered.
She would come to a stop and look around at all those here, listening to the words of the man that preached immortality to these cultists... She frowned underneath her hood, wanting to punch him out and speak up... but if she did that, then she would be putting all of their lives at risk... She had to find him and stop him at all costs.
she reached out with her ki sense, closing her eyes for a moment as she let it brush against the familiar energies of the mayors and other politicians. Though soon it brushed up against anther familiar energy, and the girl would open up her eyes again. Her gaze would focus on the green cloaked figure, sucking in a breath before B-lining it towards him. She probably caught the attention of a few people with how fast she was walking towards him... but she needed to move fast before he could kill all of these people.
"Excuse me..." She asked rather innocently, reaching up for his hood and attempting to pull it down to reveal his face. If it was actually Jezik, then she would attempt to sink her fist into his face before he could even utter a word to defend himself....
He'd felt her power what of it there was coming his way long before she'd made her way actually up to his platform where he addressed several people in more lavish masks and coverings then the rest of them. He didn't seem to put up much of a fight or none at all actually when she pulled his hood down. But she wouldn't have seen a demon but a young human looking back at her as least that was the disguise he currently had caste over his body with demonic magic holding it firm even to the touch.
If she still swung on him he'd take a few steps back narrowly avoiding the blow only allowing his power to rise ever so briefly. But in a act playing it off as as simple lucky backward stumble faking it as if he nearly fell over as he tried to avoid it. If she didn't attack him though he'd remain firmly in place simply smiling at her with his human face. Handsome and meant to present a trusting visage. He'd give her a kind smile the same that one might expect of a kind and loving parent did to a child returning home from the days activities.
Several other cultists seemed outraged more so if the attack had actually happened. Many calling out things of worry addressing the targeted man as a priest, arch bishop, and several other names that seemed to indicate some entitled role of religious power. But all the images of the so called god she may have found in her travels from carvings to sketches to only blurry photographs as well were of a beast. A true creature if she'd manage to dig up enough about it. A think like of nightmares more demonic then man dressed in gold with blue dragon like skin.
But just as the large group of people would seem ready to turn violent stirring from their dark sensual arts. Jezik would raise his hand a gesture simple but seemed to also echo out with power. He'd not make much of a effort to get away from her but would be ready for any dangerous action and or further action pending what she'd attempted already. He'd in the single movement seemed to have calmed those around perhaps unsure or trusting their leader that this unruly cultist before him must have had some meaning in their action. He had plans for these souls, They would be the pawns in his little games while he was still on earth. The more power he found in them the more fun he could have after all.
But his voice was calm and carried a tone of almost loving faith in it. The attempt to appear as devout as the rest of them. Perhaps swayed by whatever the creature was that was their so called god as much as the rest of them. "I see a young bird has gone astray, But its never to late to rejoin the nest my little bird." He'd say giving her a a soft grin as kind in visage as one could be. Like a calm man of faith and piety. "Is there a reason you would come at me in such action? Simply for sharing the light of the savior and lord of magic that aided all these people? Perhaps you too would wish to be saved young Ats... Mmmm Lucy?" He'd say curiously looking as if he was focusing or hiding the act behind some sort of vision he was given. But it took him a moment but he knew that face. The minds eye of a being long dead still shared many a memory like a vast pool of knowledge he could pull from now and again to aid him in his dastardly plans.
"Such... violence? Please don't tell me you came all the way through this sacred place just to attack the speaker for our lord?" He'd say gesturing to himself as he implied he was the speaker for this god.
Lucy definitely followed through with her strike, knowing full well that this Demon could change his form... of course she didn't know for sure this was him, at least not until he called her out and called her by her real name. That's what really confirmed it for her. He was putting on a heck of an act though, and it was definitely working with those gathered here... they were really eating all of this up, but what she couldn't understand was how they inexplicably died when taken away from these little covens...
"You can drop the act, Demon. You aren't any kind of speaker, and certainly not any kind of god! Release your hold on these people now!!" She demanded, pointing an accusatory finger towards the Demon with an angry glare in her eyes. She would attack him full on again if she wasn't so worried about hurting these innocent people. She was convinced that they were being brainwashed or controlled somehow if they just immediately died when taken out of this environment. She had to save them...
He gave her a light smile that seemed almost innocent but also demeaning in a way. The way someone might look upon someone far beneath them in societies latter. He chuckled lightly before throwing and arm to the side gesturing to the wide range of people in this furthest inner sanctum. Many of them silent and kneeling while others seemed to bow their heads at least in adamant respect. They didn't seem to be taken off guard at all by the claims of demons or the like. Nor did they seem to snap to violence without any order to do so. They simply seemed calm as if they were truly within some holy place.
"Of course there's demonic magic within me. I'm the speaker for our lord. It was demon magic that saved all these souls. It was demon magic that gave them life anew. They've seen the light and learned what twisted light you all pain the demons in is nothing but lies."
He took a couple steps back still facing her though putting some small space between her and him. A tension was felt in the room even if nothing had happened and the crowd remained silent eyes fixated upon the main stage. They seemed to mutter and whisper as anger built towards the woman. Their minds had warped and broken from being reborn by the magic of the dragon balls. Many of them couldn't except as easily as the stronger warriors that had cheated death in this universe. He'd given them a reason, a meaning, something to follow which in truth most human beings like the sheep they were yearned for a Shepard to guide them especially in moments of great pain and uncertainty.
"I am no god but I serve the god. I'm sure if you knew more of our people you'd see that we are simply the chosen ones meant to usher in what this rebirthed world was meant to become. I mean... You of all people should know that those who claim to be holy ones abandon you in the end? The demons are the true path not your false knightly leaders with a holier then thou attitude. " He'd say knowing things about her thanks to his birth. Trying to slowly but surely ease under her skin like a disease tingling at every nerve she had worming its way into her deepest parts of the body and psyche.
