Yasai was.. alright, and everything, sure. But two years there with lots of training and preparing to be a babysitter for Tomina's kids- she just got a little fed up with it, y'know? Things had quited down recently though, and so she was allowed an "extended break" of a sorts, one that she chose to spend on Earth. It wasn't a planet she was particularly fond of, but on Yasai she just felt a strange sort of.. pressure, for lack of better word. As if the tensions there were always high, and that she was the cause. It could just be that she was paranoid, but it could also be that she was an Elemi with bright, white-pink gradient colored hair related to one of the damned strongest fighters out there. Maybe it was that role that made her feel that pressure and paranoia- point is, she was just a mess of stress lingering on one planet for too long and she needed to take a hop, skip, and a short leap across the Milky Way to visit Earth again.
Her morning began rather uneventfully. The ship- one that she had gotten from her "aunt" previously parked out in a large, clear grassier area with plenty of wildlife coming in and out of the trees that could be seen on the horizon. Mainly dinosaurs, seeing as nothing smaller would dare venture that close to Hasenya's ship. When she was finally awake, she set out to get herself her own food. Sure, she had the funds and the means to go buy it, but she was admittedly and most probably what most might consider to be weird. Not to mention, eating dinosaur by a fire brought back some of her best memories since arriving in this timeline. The tracking down and then prompt dispatching of a dinosaur was nothing hard for the young hybrid either, given her survival experience and vastly increased power since her last visit to this planet. The actual prep was most definitely the messier part of the process, but by noon she had a whole huge dinosaur to herself, as well as a little bit of pleasant reminiscing.
This was nice- real dang nice. There weren't many nicer things she could really think of, other than maybe a bit of company!
And that company would not be far behind, it seemed. After having had some time to himself, to revisit the olden times... He was ready to move out, move on, and meet other individuals - either to learn from them, or to at least make friends - having lost contact with a lot of the friends and family he knew before all of the hubbub surrounding Earth started. If he just sat around doing nothing, after all, if something came to attack Earth again, well... It'd just be the same shit all over again, as much as he wasn't one to curse openly. Sure, maybe as he is now, he wouldn't make much of a difference - but... He wanted to get stronger somehow.
And so, when he was wandering thru the western lands, he would find himself sensing a distant - yet stronger than himself, he could tell that much - individual. With perhaps a hint of caution, he would go to investigate; the fellow Elemi being quite curious of who this person was, all on their own. He drifted along at a casual pace, not in any particular rush or hurry to meet this new person - and wanting to take the time to just... Enjoy his surroundings, he supposed. He had missed Earth. And even having been here for awhile now, he still couldn't help but note just how much he missed Earth. Sure, there were other planets that were similar to Earth, but they weren't the same. It was nice being able to enjoy what he was familiar with again, with a newfound appreciation for it - not taking it all quite for granted anymore.
It wasn't much longer though, that he would come across the grassy clearing that Hasenya was set up on though, noting her ship and the remains of a gigantic dinosaur. Though it wasn't the most surprising that someone of her caliber could possibly take down such a thing, it was still impressive to him - even more-so when he realized just how young Hasenya looked to be. He would remain at the edge of the trees, watching for a few seconds, before stepping out to approach her - odds are she'd probably sense him if he lingered too long, at least from his own logic, and it was rude to stare.
Thus, Andy would smile and wave as he approached, calling a friendly "Hello!" as he did. "Pardon the intrusion- I can go if you'd rather be alone - though I couldn't help but say hello to another traveler. Nice day, ain't it?" He mentioned with a kind smile; something about her scent was a little curious, though he couldn't quite put his finger on it at the time
The girl was busy absolutely devouring a rather sizable piece of meat as the other Elemi approached, mouth wide exposing the pointed row of sharp teeth just before they would sink into the freshly cooked meat. Large, rose pink eyes would look up at the approaching Zooanthrope while the girl still had her mouth full of food. She garbled some muffled nonsense, either a failed attempt at speaking with her mouth full or just noisy and excited chewing- who knows? Hasenya shook her head and then tilted her head back to swallow the somewhat over sized bite before leaning forward again and speaking. "Nice enough, yes!" She piped up happily, setting her food aside for the moment. Hasenya didn't seem to mind the intrusion- rather, she welcomed it with a smile. It was strange that only then had she noticed a change in herself, though it might've been because her point of reference was herself from the two years prior when she first arrived on the peaceful planet. She remembered the way she had greeted her own mother and how unhealthily skinny she used to be, to a point one could see her rib-cage on just a slight inhale. Essentially malnourished, held together mainly by her unholy genetics. The amount of things a mere two years could change was honestly startling, but she wouldn't wander on those negative thoughts for now. She had a guest to see to!
"Why don't you sit? It's not necessarily cold out so I wouldn't be too close to the fire, though." She offered with a motion of her hand. One might think she was being too trusting, but a little bit of Ki sense as well as confidence in her own strength and she figured that she could handle things if they were to go sour. Though if she knew anything about dogs, then well.. She was fine! Combat wasn't what she had come to Earth for, anyway. Rest and relaxation were the goals out here.
Andy would chuckle at Hasenya's invitation and nodded, "I'd love to, thank you." He responded politely and warmly - approaching to sit by the fire with her. Indeed, he didn't sit too close - his fur warded off any chill in the air, after all - and would instead keep a comfortable distance from the fire, as he glanced at Hasenya's direction. His expression was a hair curious - even if the fringe of fur over his eyes concealed half of that expression - as he pondered this new girl. He couldn't quite put a finger on what exactly Hasenya was - a half-breed like himself, perhaps?
Though he had noticed the rather unique coloration she had - pink, - her sharp pointed teeth, and her swishing pink tail. The tail was enough for him to put her down as being at least part-Saiyan though, and the seemingly ravenous appetite she had seemed to support this theory - it didn't exactly explain everything else about her, though. She seemed to be rather young too, at least at first glance - though considering that he had run into Beat and Houri once before, and her strength he could sense off of her, well... She seemed plenty capable of taking care of herself.
Though instead of worrying over it, he'd simply smile to her once more, and would shift a bit to get comfy - sitting criss-cross in the grass and placing his forearms across his knees, to prop himself up in a casual, comfortable, half-hunched position. "What brings you out to these parts, if it's alright to ask?" Andy would question at first - continuing "I'd hazard a guess that you're a traveler, from that ship of yours." Indeed, it was a pretty nice looking craft, going off of the ships he's been able to get a proper look at - though he himself had only been able to hitch a ride in one or two from hitchhiking. Otherwise, he mostly relied upon pods to get around, in the past two years he had spent in the big wide universe beyond Earth's atmosphere. Having realized that he forgot to introduce himself, though, he'd perk a bit and smile sheepishly to himself. "Ah- pardon me for being rude, by the way - I forgot to introduce myself." He added a bit quickly, offering a hand in a handshake. "The name's Andy; what's your's?"
Hasenya didn't seem to notice the expression on the other's Elemi's face, likely because of the hair, but also she was a bit preoccupied playing with her nails. Though perhaps playing wasn't the right word for it- she just hated having anything under them, so she would take advantage of her somewhat pointed nails. The demon flowing through her veins wasn't too prominent as it could be with Elemi and Saiyan in the way, though there was still just enough to give her the sharp teeth and pointed nails, not quite claw-like but still pretty useful for getting underneath one with the other. She brushed her hands off on the grass and looked back to Andy, just as he was starting to question her. The hybrid blinked and then looked back to her ship, then back again before nodding. "Sort of yes, sort of no. I'm just on a little bit of a vacation- I'm really from Yasai." She explained with a nod of her head and then motioned to the ship. "This belongs to my aunt- it was a gift I got not too recently." The Elemi added on quickly and extended a hand towards the fire- having now properly processed the amount of fur her guest had- and just like that it was snuffed out completely.
That out of the way she turned her attention back to Andy and smiled. "My name's Hasenya. I hope the fire wasn't bothering you too much?" She tilted her head. Frankly, she couldn't feel the heat, but then the heat was her element and she wasn't covered in a thick layer of fur.
Andy would nod as Hasenya explained herself - Yasai then... He'd heard a bit of it here and there, but never actually went there - all he knew was that it was a primarily Saiyan planet, and back when he had traveled for those two years, he was admittedly a little cautious of saiyans with the poor 'first impression' he had gotten of them. Of course, having met other more pleasant saiyans ever since he'd returned home, he was more comfortable now. As she gestured to and mentioned the ship, he would lift a hand to part his fur and get a proper look at it...
... Just in time to see her extinguish the fire with just a gesture of her hand.
He had to pause for a second, staring for a second, unable to help but wonder for a moment, before her voice snapped him out of his thoughts. "Oh- ah..." He took a second to properly formulate a response, before he'd shake his head and smile to Hasenya. "No, the fire was quite fine. I'd imagine you'd need it to cook that catch of yours, anyhow." He mentioned politely, adding "Though seeing you put the fire out with just a gesture was interesting. You... Wouldn't happen to be part Elemi, like me, would you?" It'd certainly explain the almost familiar tinge to her scent - it made him think of his father, not so much in the sense that they were related, but more those distinct tinges - for lack of a better term - that certain races' scents seemed to have.
As though to demonstrate his own Elemi blood however, Andy would reach down towards the ground - almost 'pulling' a flower up from the earth, using just a little bit of his power to nuture it to a full bloom. There was a certain... Excitement, even if he appeared calm - it made his own powers come more easily to him, and not only had he never seen any other Elemis beyond his father, it had been a long time since he'd seen his father. So all of this did stir certain emotions of... He wasn't sure of nostalgia or longing quite described them, but there was a certain fondness in seeing others that were like himself.
Hasenya blinked again, looking to the place where her fire had previously been. She would smile and look back to Andy, somewhat amused by his reaction. "Being fair, with refined enough Ki control you could put a fire out the same way I just did. There's lots of things you an do with Ki that an Elemi can do naturally, but to answer your question- yes! My mother is a fire Elemi with some Saiyan in her just like I am." While she talked, she was sort of demonstrating what she was talking about. The hybrid put a hand up and surrounded her hand in a pink energy, though with some concentration she had focused it into more singular points around her finger tips, and then further 'till it was just her finger nails. It would pretty much look like a second layer of plasma-like pink skin crawling along her fingers once it had been refined down to that point, to the point where it was now, making her fingernails look much more claw-like and generally more dangerous than they just were. She was always a bit of a show off, just like both of her parents. It was another one of those gifts passed down by the parent she hated, but by this point she had learned to stop caring about that, and to embrace what she had been given- even if the source were evil.
Of course she would let Andy take his own turn at showing off a bit, and to see a flower bloom up from the ground got her way more excited than even she was ready for- letting out a loud gasp and leaning down to put her face real close to it. "You can make flowers?!" She tilted her head, eyes still focused intensely on the newly created flora. Fire was an element that destroyed life more often than it created it, so she was pretty jealous of the abilities Andy had. "Surely you could do more than a flower though, right?" The hybrid sat up, looking at the other Elemi like Christmas had just come early. "It would be an utter shame if you hadn't had a chance to master your own element! Not that it would be your fault, there are so few Elemi nowadays that it's hard to find someone who can teach it properly."
"Ah... I suppose you're right on the ki front." Andy would laugh a little to himself, a hair sheepish at forgetting that detail. Though, he would smile over to her - adding "Though there is something a little bit... Distinct, to your scent, for lack of a better term - which helped tip me off a bit. It's a little bit hard to explain, though." Andy would scratch the back of his head a little as he watched the demonstration that Hasenya had made - the claw-like shape to the pink energy she had conjured up. It sometimes was a little hard, describing the scents that he'd smell - being a Zoanthrope - to others who didn't have that same strong sense of smell. It was like describing a color only you could see, in a way. Still though, seeing the demonstration Hasenya made, he would smile and nod - visibly impressed at the control she had over it.
When she became visibly amazed over his own abilities though, Andy would blink for a second - before chuckling gently. "I do admit I've had to teach myself, to use my powers in a more offensive setting... Though my father had helped me to learn controlling my element, and to use it more for... Utility, I suppose, for lack of a better term." He'd smile with a hint of humor as he - with a deep breath and moment of focus - he allowed himself to shift his paws into claws of dark ebony wood - the humor being in him matching her own claws. He would raise them to show her - before dispelling them - adding "Though I've learned a good few ways to utilize my abilities in combat, from my own personal practice and traveling alone." For a moment, he could remember when he was little - using his abilities to heal up a friend's scratched up knee, or to find his way thru the snowy woods near his home - and he seemed to grow quiet for a few moments as he allowed himself to become nostalgic, if only for a second.
It didn't take long for him to blink though, his attentions snapping back to now though, as he smiled to Hasenya. "If I'll be honest, for the longest time... I didn't believe myself to be much of a fighter, but... I think if it's to protect my home, and the people I love... Then I could see myself learning from stronger individuals, and trying to teach myself. Though, ahh.... I'm starting to ramble a bit, aren't I? Pardon me for that..." Andy would smile and chuckle a bit in a sheepish fashion. "I'm just a nostalgic old man, really."
"My mom taught me how to use mine.. Only offensively, though. Given the nature of fire it isn't hard to imagine that that's more because fire isn't a defensive element. It doesn't bring back or create life like yours can." Only when she really thought about it could she feel her element, constantly flowing through her as if part of her. If they'd met more than a couple of years earlier, Hasenya would still be using her element as more of an extension, rather than something that was part of her. The hybrid flexed her fingers, feeling the heat coursing through her being.. Her Ki? It was hard to say. It wasn't truly inside her, at least not in a physical sense. It was part of her soul- a part that could be summoned or controlled with barely a thought. "There's a lot of unpleasant things you can do when you've got such a destructive force under your control. And as good as it might sound to some people, it's really not. Say, if a friend were to be hurt? I wouldn't be able to help them, and I would hate it. But I mean, if you were to want to reduce somebody to nobody, you wouldn't be able to."
On a lighter note, a sort of childish thought would cross Hasenya's mind as she thought more about the applications of her element. She raised a hand and gripped the other arm tight where it connected to her torso. Squeezing and squeezing until pink fire would rise from the space between her finger tips and then.. pop! "Can you do this?" She asked, pulling the arm away and holding it up to give Andy a thumbs up in a way he probably wasn't ready for. He might notice that rather than a bloody stump where her arm was, there was just a sort of socket with her signature rose pink fire coming from it. "I mean.. I bet you could, since it's plant stuff. It's way harder with fire though!"
"Hm..." Andy would quietly peer over at Hasenya as she spoke, thoughtful, pondering her words... Though... Even with all the talk of fire being just for destruction, he couldn't help but disagree. Or, to better word it, she had some perfectly valid points - but he felt that there was more to fire, or life, than she seemed to believe. "I think you give yourself too much flak, Hasenya." Andy would mention gently, continuing "While fire on its own can be destructive, I myself have seen applications of fire that isn't necessarily all that - it provides light, warmth, and in your case here, it allowed you to cook yourself a meal." He would pause to gesture to the meat in question, continuing "And I have seen fire used in more artistic ways- etching patterns or pictures onto surfaces, in dances, fireworks... Even in a pinch, if someone's badly injured - you could cauterize the wound to help stop bleeding, which can be lifesaving in some cases - and forest fires, though destructive, are a natural way of letting areas overcrowded with plants essentially 'reset' - the new growth nourished by the ash left behind."
"Though..." Andy would lean back a little, placing his hands behind him to prop himself up as he did. "... Bringing back or creating life isn't as easy as you make it out to be - though I understand if you didn't necessarily mean it that way. Plants, they're oftentimes simple - and I've learned to nurture specific types of plants for different purposes. An animal or person though, is far more complicated - particularly bringing it back. My father warned me against doing anything more than that - it's one thing to nurture a dying flower back into full bloom, but it's another to bring back the dead altogether - he's told me before that some Organic Elemi such as myself have gone down dark paths in doing that." He'd shake his head though, adding "Lets... not get too into detail over that, though - that's a little bit of a grim subject, especially for a young soul like you. Point is, fire has its uses, and its value - and you shouldn't put a part of yourself down just because it has its dark side - everything has its good and bad."
When Hasenya would reach up to her arm though, and proceeded to pop! it straight off... Andy would give her an absolutely bewildered look for a second. He parted his fur around his eyes just to make sure he was seeing this correctly, and.... Ah... Yes, it seems that she had detached her arm. He was clearly a little unsettled and absolutely puzzled at the action - logically, he imagined if she did that so easily that she'd have a way to grow her arm back, right...? And there was sparks and flames billowing from where her arm was before, instead of blood, which he wasn't quite used to. "I, ah - well..." He mumbled at first for a second, before chuckling nervously - mentioning "I don't think I'd be able to do that quite as easily... Or, at least if I tried, it'd make a mess - and I'd rather not test whether I could retatch my arm as easily as I imagine you can, judging by you doing it so suddenly."
Hasenya's next move might get another reaction from the other Elemi, and she was nothing if not an attention seeker. She took the arm and just sort of absorbed it, turning a solid to something closer to a fiery plasma and taking back inside of herself. And not a moment later her arm would regrow, popping out and back in to it's rightful previous spot, spraying a bit of pink embers over towards her catch in the process. "I could teach you! I got used to the technique and a bunch of others with a simple change in mindset." She rolled her shoulder, making sure everything was where it was supposed to be before she looked over to the dead dinosaur, and then back to Andy, humming and making faces while she thought of how best to explain it. It wasn't something she had to teach to another Elemi before, and given the differences in their element she had to account for that as well.
The hybrid gripped her chin between two fingers and furrowed her brow, crossing the free arm across her torso and looking down at the flower Andy had made. "So.. You grew that flower, but from what source did you get the power to do that?" Was that the right question to ask? It still might do what she intended, which was to provoke thought. Hasenya's problem with her own powers had been that she was treating them as an extension of herself rather than an actual part. Andy was older and wiser so he might not have that problem, but she couldn't know until she asked. Of course, if what the old Zoanthrope had been saying before were any indication, he clearly didn't assign the elements into one box and then leave it at that. Hasenya just might learn a thing or two herself in trying to teach her guest a few new party tricks.
Etching pictures already gave her some pretty cool ideas.. But just blasting scorch marks into something would look ugly. And while she had proven already that her element could take the form of plasma, she hadn't really yet come up with a way to make it stay that way. Before this little visit she might say she was a fire elemi, and not some neon elemi, but if she could pull her arm off and still have control over it- and even travel back in time with it, then was there really any way to know the limits an elemi had?
Andy was still a little unsettled, as he watched her reconstitute the arm back into herself and regrow it - it certainly was something.... Interesting, to say the least, watching her do that like it was nothing. It didn't help that something told him that their body compositions were two very different things, given that he was flesh and bone- not plasma and fire - which he felt would result in a little bit of a different result if he tried to do this trick himself, even if he was an Organic Elemi. Regardless though, when she offered to teach him, he was a little curious - and thus would slowly nod - mentioning "I'm not sure how well I could put it into use - I'm a halfbreed like you, and though I have the longevity and powers of an Elemi, I'm a little more Earthling- flesh and bone. I am certainly curious about learning, though - new perspectives are always nice, and I imagine I could... pfft - branch off of it in some way." He smiled warmly to Hasenya; though the humor in his tone and expression with the bad pun were quite plain to see - he was a grandpa at heart, in the end.
He would shift a bit in position, no longer leaning back, and instead sitting upright, his legs folded underneath him - almost like a student might - as he peered down at his hands, folded on his lap, thinking deeply. When she asked him the source for the power, he'd ponder the question for a second, finding it to be an interesting thought, really - it was something he hadn't mulled over all that much, even if it did occur to him once or twice. It did take him a little time to find a proper answer, but when he did, he decided "From within, I suppose. It's a part of who I am, both my Elemi blood and the things that come with it. To a certain degree though, I suppose I could argue that the power comes from the element itself, as well - I didn't grow the flower from nothing, I more... Expedited its growth, providing it both with the nutrients in the soil, and a little energy from myself, to help it along." There was a certain balance to all things - if he raised plants wily-nily, they'd use up all the nutrients and upset the ecosystem - and if he did grow a foreign plant for certain purposes, he had to be careful to not let it reproduce or otherwise linger for longer than necessary, and possibly become invasive.
After a moment of thought, he'd glance over to Hasenya. "I'd hazard a guess that your own element is the same way - it quite literally makes up a large portion of your body, if your little arm trick is to imply anything."
"Don't treat yourself and your element as two different things. We might be hybrids, but we're just as elemental as the next full blooded Elemi.. Some of us even moreso. This isn't just a lesson that applies to us Elemi, either. Hybrids, be they half and half or ones that have a ball of spaghetti for a family tree - our abilities aren't diluted." Hasenya began speaking. She didn't have a lesson plan in mind so to say, but if she and Andy could just talk back and forth like this they would likely both learn a lot. "I guess without some explanation saying that last bit would arch some brows.. But hear me out. We're like, weird whacky fun science experiments! I've got all the speed of a Brenchian coupled with the fighting spirit of a Saiyan. I guess I'm not as strong as my mom who's not nearly as much of a mutt as I am, but if I'm given time and training.. Could you imagine all that potential?" She realized she was ranting a bit now, but hey- it might keep the conversation flowing?
The mention of being Earthling seemed to spark further passion in the topic for Hasenya. "You shouldn't look at your Earthling half as something that prevents you from doing things, either. Earthlings are just as capable a race as any other out there if they would just.. bah!" The hybrid threw her arms up as if in protest. She would have to cut herself off there, for fear of speaking from a perspective that was 20 years in the future- watching as Earth and it's population were slowly done away with by the threat that resided in her timeline but the way Hasenya looked at it now it was inaction that killed them. "Point is, your element is just as much you as your Earthling half. It's all you. I know you're concerned about the ecosystem and I would say rightfully so given this planet's tendency to.. well, uh. Get fucked. For a lack of better words.." She chuckled awkwardly, rubbing the back of her hair while she changed her sitting position to be more upright rather than leaning. "But if you were in a pinch with no sort of source to draw your power from and you needed something then and there, would you be able to make something from only your own energy? Like.. A spaceship. Or an otherwise very industrial area."
Hasenya looked at her arm. She was silent for a brief moment, but eventually she would sigh and look back to Andy. "There's a story there I'm not at a real liberty to tell. That doesn't mean you couldn't potentially regenerate your own lost limbs should you ever find yourself in a situation as bad as that, though. It's much better to learn now before things can get sour. Being unprepared for it sucks."
