Andy Berrel Ashthorne
Personality
Andy is a calm and kind individual, carrying knowledge and experience with his age. He values life, nature, and everything it encompasses - and believes in the idea of everyone deserving a chance at life, an opportunity to prove themselves or make the best of things. However, if faced with a dangerous situation, he is not afraid to fight back to defend himself, and to defend those he cares about. Life is just as much about surviving, after all.
With his good heart though, Andy does tend to be a little bit on the passive side of things - reacting rather than acting, and not being very proactive at times. He is also old, and with that age he sometimes has dated notions and slang, or is not quite as 'in the know' about more recent technology or goings-ons. He has a bad habit of clinging to, well, bad habits, and he isn't one to enjoy sudden changes in routine - even if he'll try his best to adapt to it.
In addition, though he is naturally a calm-natured individual, Andy does have a passion for certain things - he simply has a slight tendency to be a bit calmer in showing them. However, if it truly sings to him, you can tell when his emotions are flared up, when he is raring to go over it. Senseless destruction, threatening others, and power lust tend to deeply go against his morals - and seeing those he cares about hurt can anger him. The idea of being at fault for something doesn’t tend to sit well with him either - and he’ll strive to make things better if he feels as though he messed something up.
Overall though, he approaches any stranger as a possible friend, doing his best to be friendly and approachable - always willing to lend an ear or shoulder, or to lend a hand in a time of need. He isn't necessarily one to lead, but will do his best if put into such a role - but instead thinks himself as more of an advisor to others, someone who will try to offer a few kind or wise words to push them in the right direction. He cares about others, for he finds people to be a beautiful thing - he finds it amazing to see people whose lives are so fleeting, yet they make such ripples into the lives of others.

Appearance
Andy is a dog-based Zoanthrope who stands at 6'1'', and weighs roughly 160 pounds. He resembles a sheepdog/bearded collie cross, having tan fur with storm-grey splotches (though age has led to his fur greying slightly, making the tan more muted and light in color), and the fur in question being somewhere between wavy and curly. It is medium-length, thick, and quite soft - though the length leads to Andy having bangs in front of his eyes. Though obscured, his eyes are a dark forest green underneath. Andy usually keeps the fur around his muzzle and forearms neatly trimmed, though doesn't tend to worry about the rest of the fur - simply keeping it brushed as need be.
He has a somewhat average but burly build, emphasized by his thick fur - a broad chest and shoulders, and strong limbs. Additionally, he has a strong jaw, thick muzzle, and long floppy ears that hang at the sides of his head. He doesn't tend to be picky about outfits, but prefers wearing things that are light and flowing, letting him move easily - such as a simple shirt and baggy pants with a belt, or even a robe. Around his neck hangs a small silver locket, heart-shaped, that used to belong to his mother. In the locket is a couple of pictures of his mother and father, as well as him as a pup.
As far as his Elemi heritage goes, it doesn't tend to show very visually... At least, not until he expresses the flare-ups that are common to Elemi. His flare-ups express themselves in the form of Andy taking on an almost dryad or treant-like appearance; his fur textured like wood with moss, vines, and flowers growing off of it. His paws tend to be shaped more like claws when this happens, the tan parts of his fur resembling birch wood, and the storm grey splotches resembling ebony wood. His eyes also faintly glow past the gaps in his bangs - which are usually somewhat parted when this happens.
Biography
Borne in 1381 on Earth, Andy grew up as an only child to an Earthling mother and an Elemi father, whom both raised him together. He lived a relatively normal life, growing up like any other earthling child - going to school, making friends, and worrying about peers and prom and birthday parties. The only real exception to all of this was in his father teaching him about his Elemi heritage, and how to deal with it.
He always was a somewhat awkward child due to his elemi blood - split between his more calmer nature, and that unbridled passion that is common to elemi. However, he was able to get by well enough, making a few friends here and there and those friends coming and going as life grew on. As he got into his middle school years, he even began learning to harness his powers - manipulating plants such as shrubbery and trees, making them grow and nurturing them.
Being part-Elemi though, he'd quickly find out that sooner or later he'd begin to outlive his friends, and even his own mother. The years would wear on, and for a good part of those years, Andy was in his prime while his mother and friends grew older and older. For a time, this distraught Andy - who was still developing and growing as an individual. Why did they grow old, while he still looked no older than 20? It wasn’t that he wasn’t aware of his long lifespan, but… There was something hard to accept about the fact that he’d outlive them.
When his mother inevitably passed, a mix of old age and illness taking her, Andy would go through a period of mourning and nihilism - sharing in the grief with his own father, and finding himself wondering what the point of life was, if the people he grew close to were just going to die. It took a mix of time, a long serious talk, and Andy letting off his built-up emotions, for Andy to really begin moving past it all - taking his mother's locket as a keepsake for him to better remember her by.
Though nothing was eternal, Andy had learned that even in the grand scheme of things, it was all about perspective. The universe may be eternal, and to the universe, he was small. So very small and fleeting, and would unlikely leave a large enough impact to really stir the universe. But to him, a lot of things had lasting impact, and the impact his mother had on his life - he'd cling to that, to keep him going.
It was about at this time that he really began learning to hone his powers, wanting to become someone that his mother and father would be proud of, and wanting to appreciate life to its fullest. He never did use his powers for fighting - and perhaps for this reason, he never really grew as a combatant; but he did become a knowledgeable and wise man, who wished to make the most of what he had. He found a connection in the wild, in the plants and life around him - and he found a sense of appreciation for it, from the largest trees to the smallest microbes.
Eventually, he would move out on his own - settling in a place of his own, and living a simple, quiet life on his own, save for the friendly neighborhood; whom he befriended. Like with his friends before, people came and went - and some even would grow old and pass. But, this time, he tried his best to remember every friend he met with a smile, as he practiced on his own, in the peace of his home.
For the earlier events that impacted Earth in the passing years - such as the Saiyan attack in 1556 - he generally kept low and out of the way; he was no fighter, and there were others far stronger and better suited for dealing with these situations. He instead simply focused upon himself - upon his relations with others around him, and the earth around him. However, in early 1589, during the Tree of Might incident, Andy is forced to leave his home in fear of his life - and loses contact with many of those that he cared for, including his father.
In the midst of chaos and attack after attack, he would find himself realizing that his passiveness will not solve these issues - even if he was still not a fighter, he would have to learn to fight for his and others’ sakes. He would leave Earth shortly after South City’s destruction, both to survive another day, and in hopes of finding an opportunity to properly train himself in the art of fighting… Since then, he’s moved around from planet to planet, trying to train to become stronger, and to learn from others.
