Ranon would glance down at Batt's tug on her hand, and would follow Batt down the street, the two of them making their way out of earshot of the cops and the shopkeeper. Ranon smiled down to Batt at her conspiratorial little whispers and giggling, but would speak up, cautioning Batt "Though the cop back there did have a point; you can't expect someone to always be there to back you up if you get caught red-handed again - and keeping up a habit like this would inevitably get you caught again; if not by me, then someone else." Ranon, similarly, wouldn't protect Batt forever if this was a regular thing - but she didn't mention this, instead glancing to the little establishments on the street, pondering.
As she glanced around and pondered though, she would mention on the side "But yeahhh, that lady could use a few chill pills; is it just me or is it just universal that a lot of grandmas are like that? Either unerringly sweet, or utter gremlins?" She'd grin a bit and laugh softly with that, but would continue "In any case though... You hungry? I could stop by a place and grab us something to eat, your choice 'slong as they got anything meaty - and you probably know the best food places 'round here better than I do anyways. We can discuss the thing I've been thinking about over some food, then."
Batt would pout as Ranon felt like what was lecturing her on what she can and can't do, and the worst part was, she wasn't really wrong. "Listen Batt just have... Habits, bad habits to break from chain, Batt spent whole life, gonna be very to undo, Batt bets..." She shrugged, acting like her question stealing tendencies weren't that bad."Like, can try to help fix Batt but, good luuuck, not sure how that should go.." She whistled, trying to weasel herself out of this whole idea as best as she could.
Batt's entire motion was shifted backwards as she mentioned food..
Ah... Ahaha..
If Batt could sweat she would start to... She was going to have to come clean? Huh, that or Ranon would find out eventually, she wondered how scared she would be of Batt, or, maybe she'd just try and stake her with the nearest chunk of wood she could find, who knows!Batt just swallowed as she would Ranon react, not hand and start to spit something out. "See.. Issue with human food is... Not Batt food..?" She laughed nervously as she shifted her fangs and ears back into place before backing away from Ranon a bit, letting go of her arm.
"See Batt is vampire..." She would show her fangs. "Batt need blood.. Not your blood!! Or human blood in general - Batt always feed of coons and rats!!! - but blood in general.."
With all of the nervousness that Batt seemed to react with - given the question - Ranon had wondered if she said something wrong, or if Batt had somehow got banned from every food establishment in a 10 mile radius or something. She'd tilt her head a little, especially more quizzical when Batt mentioned that human food isn't, well, Batt food, as the smaller girl put it - and was about to question, but... When Batt explained that she needed blood, Ranon blinked, before nodding in understanding. She, uh, wasn't sure what vampires were - but creatures that needed blood for sustenance wasn't too unusual for her, considering that she was a bounty hunter that got to see all sorts of different planets.
Her own concerns alleviated, Ranon would gently laugh and ruffle Batt's hair. "Geez kid, with all that nervousness n' beating round the bush, I thought you were gonna tell me that you could only eat baby souls or whatever," She remarked with a small smile, trying to be reassuring. "Blood ain't a big deal, and it seems you've found your own ways to get by," She'd comment, but... With a hue of concern, she would add "Though feeding off of animals for it is probably not the healthiest. Those things got parasites n' shit,"
Ranon would exhale a little, scratching the back of her head as she thought to herself for a second, wondering if people around here weren't so accommodating to such races like these 'vampires' that Batt said she was. It would certainly explain why Batt was so nervous about revealing this part of herself... Well... "Well, I suppose we could find someplace quiet to talk, n' if you're hungry at all I can let you feed off me. Sound good?" Ranon suggested, glancing around, before deciding on going into the alleyways - not the cleanest places, but she could heal herself once Batt was done eating. "C'mon, kiddo." She'd call, gesturing for Batt to follow as she looked for a quiet, hidden-away spot to sit down.
Batt's eyes would lit up as Ranon would react not in surprise or horror, but just sheer, well kindness? Batt had never seen stuff like this before, she knew strangers would sometimes pity her and gave her food or water which was all but unless to her, so she just used it to lure out animals she could actually eat, such as coons, or, if she was really desperate... Rats... Ew...
She could't help but give a big smile as Ranon went on, knowing for once no one who didn't think she was a freak, or a monster, like so many others had gone when they'd manage to find out about the whole vampire thing. But this woman was showing actual forms of kindness, not just pity for Batt, and she was absorbing it like a tiny moth next to the giant ball of gas that was the sun.
She couldn't help but rub the back of her head, laughing at Ranon brought the pest thing up. "Batt is.. Not aware of such things, did not think before biting, sometimes just get to hungry to care, yeah?" She shrugged.
But when she mentioned maybe feeding of herself, Batt give well, a somewhat small gasped. Was she sure about this? What if Batt lost controlled? What if Batt drank to much? What if Batt got her teeth stuff and couldn't move? Still if she was offering, it still was a offering, and not one Batt would back down from. "Okay! Batt feed of you but... Only if sure, stop whenever says so, okay Ranran?"
"Yeah, sometimes you just gotta eat what you can eat." Ranon would mention to Batt's own casual response, in regards to the pests subject. "Just a little concerned for ya is all." She would add, smiling more gently to Batt. She would find a spot to sit down and get comfortable, both so that they could talk, and so that she could hold out her wrist for Batt, so that she could feed. "I'll be fine," Ranon would reassure Batt; adding "I think it'd take a bunch of Batts to drain me dry, with how small you are and how big I am, and I can always heal myself." She'd chuckle a little in pointing out their differences in size; though her humongaloid form was bulky and quite tall, lots of body mass to say the least - Batt was so small and spindly-looking in comparison!
Though once situated, she'd give Batt all the time she needed to feed, speaking as she did. "In any case, though... This is probably pretty spontaneous, given we just met..." Ranon began, scratching the back of her neck with her free hand - spontaneity was her middle name, in a sense, and she couldn't help but think back to how spontaneous the decisions that led to her meeting her own adoptive-father were... "... But it's clear you're a bright kiddo with potential, and frankly, I think with a push in the right direction, you could do something more with your life than this stuff; hiding around in alleyways and so on."
She'd rest her head against the wall behind her, peering to Batt out of the corner of her eye with a small smile. "I've been saving up to get a new ride, after the old one that I took getting here kinda bit the dust; but I had been thinking that my next spaceship or pod should be something a little bigger, something to accommodate a friend or two..." She'd pause a bit to chuckle, as she added with a hint of humor "And maybe something a bit sturdier to those asteroids out there."
"But in any case, I digress... Maybe you could come with me? I can't promise the cushiest life, but it'd help get you off the street, give you a way to get by without needing to steal anymore, and I could help keep an eye on you to keep you on the right track." Ranon would be perhaps a hint shy in mentioning this - she had always been used to going solo, ever since she had left that old researchers' ship to set off on her own. Sure, she had friends she'd make here and there, times where she'd join other fellow mercenaries or bounty hunters on a job, and there were times where she had to hitch a ride, or let others hitch a ride with her, but... Otherwise, she'd always be independent, solo. She never really had a consistent friend that stuck with her, and well, for then - it was alright; Ankoku were never a social species. But...
Honestly, looking to Batt, she couldn't help but think of when she was younger - when she, too, had to hide away and steal to get by, being the runt compared to her clutch-mates.
"... What do you think? I mean, we'd obviously need to set ground rules, mainly for your safety, but... I'd try my best to look out for ya, I can promise you that much." Ranon would mention, and her lack of sociability perhaps was starting to show, needing to pause or backtrack to think her words over. But she did sympathize - and perhaps, in some way, empathize - with Batt's issues. Sure, maybe she couldn't do this for every kid she runs into on this planet, but... She could do this for this kid.
Batt couldn't help but let her eyes widen, this woman had been doing all theses nice things for Batt and she had done what? Nothing but trouble, and yet here she was, arm out, feeding to the little pest feed on her, all Batt could do was be grateful, and she owed a lot to the old woman. She could only tilt her head and nod as Ranon spoke.
As she put her hand out, Batt would carefully walk over, she'd put one arm on Ranon's before she's push her fangs out and carefully bite in - the pain quick and fast, she'd be careful to not nibble and only watch and listen as Ranon kept talking, it was the least she could do after all.
She spoke of maybe Batt traveling with her, and she couldn't help but get a little giddy! What could be out there! What new shinies could he be found? This sounded amazing to Batt as of right now, and as she slolwy had her fill of Ranon, she was quick to latch off, as she jumped up near what she could reach of Ranon's face. "Batt think great idea! Batt would love to go!! New places to search shines to look out!!! Best idea Ranran!"
