The things that Mizuna had seen on her way to the bar. What a spectacle to behold they had been! A dark haired boy who could turn parts of himself into what looked like some sort of winged lizard. Her mind was still reeling from that reveal, the excitement of finding someone other than Karah that was able to keep up with her and that just made her even more certain that his response to her query about strength back out in the desert like out lands had been a modest reply, to deflect interest. Well, too bad for him! It had achieved the OPPOSITE! Her blood jumped and jolted with excitement at the prospect of clashing fists with him once she'd gotten both the boys a good meal or two. Of course, she needed to pack away some food for herself as well - her stomach would never let her forget that.
"Mizuna, if you're gonna bring your latest catch in through the front door, get your ass in the kitchen. Your shift started 10 minutes ago!" a staunch, but short lady with a scar running down the right side of her cheek and a mane of black hair wildly held back into a high strung spiky ponytail regarded the red head who just gave a meek little wave and vaulted over the counter with a hand. Despite how casual she was about waving off the old woman, it would have been clear to her two guests that she didn't exactly have the most freedom. "I'm telling ya, Aunt Zunichi. One of these days, you're gonna burst a blood vessel." Mizuna fired back with her usual gall of giving the older woman cheek, swinging her wide hips to the side to narrowly avoid a slap to her posterior.
Nope. Not today!
Snatching an apron from the side and a bunch of cooking ingredients, she took to the Kitchen. She wasn't the best cook to have ever graced the kitchen, sure, but she wasn't incompetent. After an undetermined amount of time in the kitchen, with various smells and sounds of sizzling meat coming from the back of the bar that apparently also doubled as a restaurant, she emerged with at least three plates full of meat, vegetables and rice. Hip checking the gate open again was basically child's play but she couldn't really make any flashy moves like the one she'd used to get over the counter and into the back to actually do her job in the Kitchen
After settling the plates and drinks onto a table near a corner, she gave each of them a quick look, realising she was still wearing her apron. "So, uh, yeah. I kinda...y'know. Work here and stuff, so this one's on me." for the faintest moment, her cheeks heated up and a light pink tone crossed her cheeks before she cleared her throat and regained her composure, untying the apron from around the back and setting it on the back of the chair. "Dig in, boys. I'm going to deck one or both of you in the schnoz later." she was shouting them food and non alcoholic drinks yes, but she was also making her intentions pretty clear; she still wanted to fight one or both of them.
Mostly just Eis. She wasn't buying his whole modest pretty boy act. Not after she'd seen him basically turn into some sort of winged lizard. The other guy had tried to get into complicated talk that was beyond her comprehension. Strength was how good you were in a fight, not some other mumbojumbo. That likely meant he was weak and while he was definitely easy on the eyes, that didn't exactly make her jump with excitement. There was one detail that had been nagging at the back of her mind, however. The dreams, that book with the reverse pentagram with a language she couldn't read. Something told her that the more philosophical one of the two might have known something about that and lacking much of a filter or subtlety when it came to asking things of that matter, she just blurted out her question.
"So, there's this book I have back at home. It belonged to my mother. Its got this funny looking upside down star on it and a weird looking skull on it too. But, anyway, I don't really care about the decoration. The contents of the book were written in some weird spooky looking language I couldn't read. Maybe one of you could tell me what species wrote it. Oh, and I was out there in the out lands because of a dream." after asking the question, which she'd thrown out hastily, she took to stuffing her face with the food in front of her. She'd also brazenly dropped the mention of her little prophetic dream in there too.

Gelus was quick to pull his hood over as he entered the tavern, while Mizuna may of been half-demon she had no horns to show of, or long pointed ears, or any indication she was more then just a Saiyan who had a thing for bright hair dye. But Gelus was clearly more then that, or well, that's what his looks gave away and while outward hatred for demons wasn't as common as it could be, clear frowns and mistrusting glances was all it took to make the hybrid break into a sweat. His hide his features as best as he could, and hoped nothing of him was pointed out as he joined Eis at the table.
Theses smells and sights where all very new to Gelus, he wasn't a people person, and the small, heated area with a few enough citizens in it was enough to make him nervous. Thought the aroma of food was strong here, and something Gelus almost instinctively craved. Gelus was underweight for his height and age, not enough to hinder his job but enough to make it clear he hadn't lived the healthiest life. It was a tacit his sick father had used to keep him in check. If he didn't do his job right, if he stepped out of life, if he did so much as think of disobeying orders, no food was a light sentence for Gelus.
And yet when the food was placed on his table followed by Mizuna something ticked in him. His was even drooling before she'd manage to get it on the bloody bench. "Thank you..." He said to the female Saiyan politely, trying to keep himself calm but their was something about this that was driving him crazy. It was his Saiyan side, without Tomarla to hold the dog on his leash he was a free man know. Every part of him was telling him to rip into this like a feral animal but he held himself rigid. Yet again nurture over powered nature. He had to hold some form of dignity for himself? Manners yes? He could at least use the knife and folk he'd been provide.
...Thought just because he was using cutlery didn't mean he had to be graceful about. It was an in-between between instinct and his own self control. He dug in, or well, that was a lighter way to put it, almost half away through his meal when he'd realised Mizuna had been talking. "...Deck?" He asked confusing, not releasing he'd ask with a mouth full of food. Wait, did she mean fight? Oh. Well, he wasn't sure why she'd want to, but Gelus did owe her after he gave her food and everything. So, he'd comply, just maybe not happy in doing so. "...I guess if that's what will make you happy." He nodded, replying to her in his usual tone. He wasn't aware of the mess he'd made, both on the plate and around his mouth before it was to late. He was quick to wipe if off with his cloak, not carrying if he got the dirty old rag more filthily.
As he ate with Mizuna and Eis, the other Saiyan brought something, in the most random and out of nowhere way, mind you, the young man just tilted his head. If he was honest, Gelus didn't know much about his demon history, but when his father wasn't around, a few kinder people his worked around would teach him bits and pieces, especially those who shared his ancestry. He could speech old demonic tongue reasonably well, and knew small snippets of lore here and there along with it. "W-What your describing definitely sounds like it may be demon related, or well, maybe even crafted by one." Explained, putting a small chunk of meat into his mouth. "If it where your mother's she herself might be linked to demons, or, might even share their blood, you may even share their blood, if so your hair colour would add up." Gelus shrugged, just trying placing to put together what he'd been told. "...Thought I'm q-quite sure why you'd go out into the middle of nowhere due to a simple dream..." He mutter, taking a sip from his glass.
Eis would blink a little, as Mizuna and 'Aunt Zunichi' bantered the second the three of them walked in. He wasn't sure how he felt of Zunichi already, with the bossy demeanor the older woman seemed to have. A bossy old lady, the place smelled like shit with his sensitive senses... He could at least appreciate Mizuna's cheekiness - but all in all, he wasn't exactly enjoying himself thus far. He'd watch as she grabbed an apron, before going to one of the back rooms - there at least seemed to be a more appetizing smell coming from back there, especially when she began cooking.
Whilst Mizuna cooked though, he'd glance over to Gelus - noting that the man's hood was up. Given that Gelus looked like a demon, he guessed that it would make sense; though he also noted that there was a definite tinge to Gelus' scent - the sweat putting off a smell of fear, or to be more exact, the older man's anxiety. "... You okay?" Eis would question Gelus, his tone soft. Even if Eis was an independant not-so-wild child, he still had a heart - and he couldn't help but warm up to Gelus easily, with them both being demon-blooded; even if he didn't show his more demonic side so easily - with him being unsure of Mizuna when he first landed, and with him now being in a tavern full of people that seemed to be giving Gelus the stinkeye.
When Mizuna returned with food, Eis glanced up at her, and the plates of rice, meat, and vegetables she brought; nothing fancy like the meals back home, but... Something about this nonetheless made him happy, with the big portions there seemed to be. It all smelled pretty good, and the drinks didn't smell of any alcohol, so Eis was content digging in and drinking - even if he had been taught manners by Kalma and Soda while at the castle, it felt good letting go and just enjoying the meal here. Though....
... Eis couldn't help but make a face, when Mizuna mentioned 'decking one or both of them in the schnoz'... "... I'm not really interested in a fight after just arriving here," Eis mentioned - unafraid to make his feelings known. He just kinda wanted to explore, maybe chill with a book, or figure out what the hell a Scouter was from what Kalma mentioned once before. He wasn't one to go picking fights; he tended to get a little carried away, which he didn't really like feeling that way - and Mizuna was definitely stronger than him, so... No thanks, he'll pass. Instead, he'd continue eating, listening to Gelus and Mizuna talk.
After a few moments of contemplating whether to reveal his own link to demons or not, he'd decide to err on caution with half-truths - mentioning "I know a little bit about demons. Dunno how much I can help, though..."
Mizuna visibly frowned, turning her lips up into a small pout, almost like she was a little girl who'd been told she couldn't have any more food before dinner lest she spoil it. Karah had been so ready to catch her fists and send some of her own MIzuna's way. Words were superficial and didn't even scratch the surface of connecting with people as far as she was concerned, so when Eis gave her a 'not right now', she was kind of disappointed, but she did kind of double back to hoping there would be time for an eventual fight, the sparkle returning to her amber irises. "That's not an absolute 'no', though, right?!" rather than stay leaning over the table, peering down on Eis, she returned to her seat, recomposing herself before Aunt Zunichi could scold her for unsightly behaviour.
Not wanting to be the odd one out, she turned to digging into food, practically stuffing it into her mouth and hoeing down on her first bowl, quick to polish off the second and third bowl, stacking each successive bowl up before reaching for her drink and chugging it back. Napkin? Nah, she just wiped her mouth on her sleeve. Not the most ladylike of gestures, but it wasn't a big concern for her. If the two she had decided to keep company for now didn't have their balls locked away in their purses, they wouldn't take issue with her practically devouring the food or her absolute lack of anything resembling table manners. She was an earnest young woman who enjoyed her food second to fighting. It didn't matter to her what kind of power level her opponents or sparring partners had; she had been taught by her father that 'power levels are bullshit.' Plus, she had to admit respecting Eis' confidence.
Another thing that rubbed Mizuna up the wrong way was the stink eye that Gelus was getting throughout the restaurant. These two, as she saw it, were her guests! Potential friends, too! She wouldn't have anyone looking at them like they were a smear of dirt on a clean floor. It wasn't like the restaurant was even that prestigious! "Oi, what's the matter? Ain't you seen a girl shout a couple of friends some lunch before? If these guys are so peculiar to you, take a photo or something. He's not a show piece - pretty as he is." to say the least, she wasn't happy that there was some intense staring going on, or possibly even quiet whispers about her quiet associate and even something about her bright hair and the certain colour and shape her eyes had.
After the outburst, she flopped back angrily into her seat, looking for something else to eat to no avail. Mizuna took to breathing in and then exhaling, benching that anger for now. She'd keep it stowed away for later, of course; it was a useful tool for battle. Like flipping a switch, she moved back to her cheerful and flighty self. "Yeah, I don't really know why I'd follow a dream out into the middle of nowhere, but hey! it worked out! Something super ultra happened!" Mizuna clapped her hands together over her cheeks as some sort of ritual to get her to focus on the flow of things. She was meant to be showing Eis around after this place and there was also the matter of getting Gelus to look into her mother's book of ancient text and while she was at it, maybe she could get a bit more out of the two boys! It'd be such a shame to remain as strangers.
"So, did you have anywhere in particular that you wanted to go once you've filled your gut and refreshed yourself, Eis, was it?" she managed to remember his name while probing him for the things he wanted to check out. She was probably hoping that something of actual interest would happen while playing tour guide. There was just something in her gut - other than the food she just ate - telling her that something unexpected would happen and that gut feeling had never ever been wrong before, much to her dismay sometimes. When she reflected on all the times it had been right, she remembered that night where everything had gone so, so wrong for her and her friends. Everything up until that point had been fun and games and unbeknownst to her, it was currently showing on her face how much she wanted to find those pirates and skin them alive, but not before giving them a taste of their own medicine.
