A certain robotic saiyan lady started this particular day, much like she started any other day. Get up, get ready, yada, yada, yada. It just so happened that Diane had decided to go out on a walk today. After all, the sun was shining, the birds were singing, her friends had plans; it just seemed appropriate to go outside just to appreciate nature. She may be late for her fighting lessons, but she didn't care enough to think about it. She thought she progressed fine on her own.
The walk finally began, and Diane simply thought about everything that has been happening. She met so many more people so abruptly. The recent days had been kinda wacky, but she liked it that way. The more wacky something is, the more interesting and exciting it gets, right?
At least... I think so. Man, this is getting boring.
As if it was some sort of reflex, she hopped onto a nearby tree, her whole body turning sideways, as her feet planted flatly on the large plant, taking care so as to not exert too much force for fear of breaking the tree. She hopped again, landing on a neighboring tree. Then she did it again, and again, and again. She always found stupid ways to make things less unbearable. Even if her antics might be questioned by some, she herself enjoyed it.
She kept gracefully hopping from tree to tree, as if testing her acrobatic ability. Although, with time, the android realized that there were a lot less trees in the forest than usual. And by a lot.... she meant A LOT. There was an entire area completely rid of almost all floral life!
W-What's going on....? Why did- Where did all the trees go? And the grass, too?!
Upon further inspection, one would find that the very grass on the floor of Sadala was missing. Even the soil had been slightly disturbed. Diane's first impulse was to investigate the disturbed dirt. She found slight evidence of footprints leading towards..... something. The mechanical saiyan had a couple thoughts fly into her robot mind as she looked at the tracks.
Whatever this thing is, it sure has a temper. The prints look a bit fresh too- I think...? Maybe? I don't know. It's probably not a wild animal. Nothing could do that other than other Saiyans. But why would Saiyans do this? A fight? No... wait... if a fight occurred this close to my house, I would've known about it. Well, no use standing around, gawking at a pile of dirt.
She would begin walking in the direction of the tracks, finding more half broken trees, and missing flowers. One of her favourite spots was ruined! The curiosity on her face morphed into annoyance. She furrowed her eyebrows as she trudged on, ready to face whatever had done this. She would eventually stumble upon a sight that wasn't normal. Definitely wasn't normal. She probably wasn't ready for whatever she saw next. It was..... odd....
You know what a curse of hunger does to you when you sleep? By sleeping, it means that you are not eating and, when not eating, you are actively preparing yourself for a very furious morning. It was that cycle for Bucket's daily life, in the mornings, where he was most aggressive and most rampant, his eyes snapping open, bubbling need and anger rising through the demon's giant body to a point where it was going bloodshot, at least momentarily. He quickly got to his feet and, like a machine in its usual cycle, turned to where he was going yesterday with the trail of destruction and, soon enough, was shapeshifting his already huge, jagged jack-o-lantern mouth into something big enough to eat the grass beneath him, the bushery and flowers, even the trees were not spared as, with huge, snapping bites, he took them down just as quickly, suckling up the roots as if they were god damn spaghetti to him.
"I'm still so fucking HUNGRY!" The giant roared out in sheer fury, not having noticed that Diane had actually followed his trail of destruction to see him eat everything in his path. At the point where they were, with flora being slightly thicker than usual, his rampage only grew more erratic, angrier than before. This time, everything went: he saw several rocks on the ground, of medium size and, instead of actually using his hands, just shaped his mouth to become like a scoop, taking up the rocks into his unnatural cheeks, letting them widen up severely to chew up what he had gotten into his mouth, swallowing it up without a problem. The tall trees that stood above him? Those were uprooted from the ground itself with his great strength and, once he snacked on its roots, grew out his mouth just enough to start cramming the entire thing down his throat, constant chomps making sure that it went down in pieces, his already massive body slowly fattening up, adapting itself to the amount of food he was eating.
Yet, he still hungered, the morning not being nearly forgiving enough. Looking around in desperation, he found a small lake and, of course, jumped right in, only to be left in dry land in the impressive time of 1:58 minutes, just sub-2. He drank the entire lake, now feeling like he was sloshing a bit whenever he walked. His breakfast was good enough for now so, since he didn't want to look that bloated and weird, with not-so-chewed tree parts almost sticking out of him, he made himself bigger instead, so that it'd just look like he had a bit of a gut. He'd digest it all quickly enough. Finally, he had enough mental capacity to observe his surroundings and, of course, was incredibly surprised when he saw a Saiyan-looking girl that he hadn't detected, having lived his life easily by running away from all Saiyans whose power levels he detected before. This one didn't even have the smallest of signatures! "..oh. OOoh! You, who are you?~ Are you friend? Are you here to hurt me?" The giant asked her with clear curiosity, tilting his weirdly-shaped head while walking towards her, the much greater weight concentrated on his stomach crushing the ground below him as he did something as simple as walk. Didn't look threatening though, just curious, which was for the best, actually.
The best for him, who didn't know this girl's power.
So apparently, there wasn't any fight that had broken out. The trees hadn't been destroyed, but they were eaten. That much was revealed by the scene which played out before her. There was a humanoid entity simply devouring everything it saw. Trees, rocks, grass, flowers, you name it. Diane repulsively watched the scene. She felt apprehensive about approaching..... whatever that thing was. The way it looked, the way it sounded. The android's instincts screamed at her to leave, but she ignored them. Instead, she stayed and watched as thing's cheeks grew to an unnatural size in order to chew and swallow the immense amount of stuff inside of it's mouth.
Eventually, the entity jumped into a nearby lake, only to sink down to the bottom.
"Oh no, no, no,"
The android rushed to the side of lake before realizing that the water level was rapidly lowering.... for whatever reason. She watched the water disappear for about two minutes, dumbfounded, until all the water was finally gone. It drank the lake. Drank the lake. The android couldn't even tell what was happening, nor why it was happening. It just... happened so quickly. As the creature stood up, Diane finally saw the bucket. That's correct. The entity had a literal bucket for a head. A bucket.
"W-Why is....?"
Eventually, the creature became aware of the android staring directly at him. It looked slightly surprised, mostly curious, oddly shaped, bucket headed for whatever reason. It asked Diane a couple questions, who blankly continued staring at it as if those words never registered in her mechanical mind.
"Well, I-I, uh, I am, uh, I am friend, I guess? But, uh, why are you eating trees? Like, there are other foods y'know. Plus, I don't think the trees in this forest are infinite, I mean, with the way you were eating back there, you could probably clear a lot of this place in a week."
Of course, she was exaggerating, but the bucket headed creature did devour a good portion in a certain area extremely quickly. Diane didn't exactly feel threatened by the entity, but she felt that she needed to protect the greenery. Besides, if this continued, it was only a matter of time before it consumed some more of the android's favourite spots. Although, then again, this bucket head probably needed to eat only floral life in order to survive. Diane felt confused and odd by just looking at the thing. She placed a hand on her hip as she awaited a reply.
The creature looked entirely dumbfounded by her question. What she was asking him, on why he was eating trees, sounded simply so weird to him that he tilted his head ever so slightly, his eyes really conveying the weirded out body language of someone who really couldn't believe that she was asking him such a silly question. Ah well, that's the ever present dilemma of the ones who don't eat at all so, once she finished, he answered the question to the best of his ability.
"This is breakfast! I'm always so hungry, but I don't want to hurt the peoples, or the cute animals I see. So I eat everything else until I don't need to eat anymore. But you must be right. I should eat this all in a week.. Deh.. What's a week?" Fluent enough when it spoke, apparently an illiterate idiot on everything else, to the point of not knowing what a week was. The concept had never been taught to him, since he just counted days by amounts of meals he took, since he had been born and raised in Outer Space, with no usual concept of night and day. He didn't know anything about how the planets always spun at the same, steady rate, or how their rotation around a star would count as a year. All he knew was that, whenever he had his five meals of the day obviously not counting the dozens of "snack times", he went to sleep since he was already getting tired.
So, by his definition, a day is just fourteen hours, with some sleep in between.
"But you are friend! I'm happy to meet friend. I am scared of the peoples that come around here, because they always look so mean and talk about monsters that destroy the forest! I don't want to fight any monsters, I just wanna eat! But.. these monsters are bad, because if they destroy the forest, what will I eat then? I don't wanna eat people!" Marvelous show of a lack of self awareness, considering that the "monsters" mentioned were probably him but, somehow, he had evaded escape the small few times that they looked for the reason of destruction. It might be related to his relatively low power level compared to even a normal Saiyan of Sadala, to the point where one would never really pin HIM as the reason that everything is just vanishing.
The bucket headed entity simply stared at the android for as if she was an idiot for a moment, tilting his head. The creature then explained that it ate these trees and everything else for his meals. Judging by the entity's answer, she supposed that it was generally peaceful. Refusing to hurt anyone or any animal. Although, it didn't know what a week was. Strange.... She thought. The bucket head considered her a friend as well, which brought back the smile on Diane's face. It also talked about other people arriving at the forest, which Diane knew about. Other Saiyans do go to the forest sometimes, but the ones she saw recently seemed to be looking for something. She wasn't sure what, though. Then, the bucket's talk degraded into talk about monsters? She shook her head, still maintaining the smile plastered across her face. She lived in the forest, she was sure that she had explored it all, and there were no monsters around.
"Well, the Saiyans I understand, but you don't need to worry about any monsters. In fact, you're the closest thing to a monster in this forest."
They both failed to put two and two together, considering that Bucket was the monster the Saiyans were talking about. Diane never bothered to think about it, she never bothered to think too hard about anything, she just... rolls with it. Anyway, as she was talking, she unconsciously placed her hand atop it's head, petting it like a one would pat an animal. She realized she did this and took her hand down.
"Well, uh, that was awkward.... I'll never do that again."
She thought to herself for a moment. Perhaps she unconsciously considered the entity as an animal, a pet, simply because of the way he looked. It had a bucket for a head, for crying out loud. It didn't look Saiyan at all.
Well... I'll need to remember not to do that a second time.
She continued talking,
"Well, I think you should continue avoiding these Saiyans for now. Although, what are you gonna do when everything is gone? The forest isn't infinite you know."
The smile that she wore slackened slightly, looking more like a neutral stare now.
She considered him a friend too! She was giving him headpats which, though completely foreign to him, did feel surprisingly nice to receive, from such a gentle person smiling at him. That demonic heart grew several sizes that day and, as she was mentally notifying herself to not do it again for the second time, he was quite quick to crouch down below her and, with a swift movement, rose back up, supporting her body on top of his flat head. Since they were quite different in size and his head was relatively large, she could sit on it without any problems.
His posture was impeccable too, surprisingly.
"Ok, I'll avoid the Sanaians! And.. I don't know. It's been.. deh.. one hundred sleep cycles since I fell from the blackness above down here!" The terms he had found, though not incorrect, were quite confusing to understand. The matter of one hundred sleep cycles referred to days, since he obviously slept like any other being and, just like for anyone else, sleep is a cycle. He sleeps, wakes up, does whatever he needs to do and the cycle goes back to the start. The blackness above, obviously, was space, which would bring into question on how or where he came from, if he fell from space into Sadala.
Also he can't say Saiyans. "But.. if I eat too much and I cause bad things to the people that live here, I go underground! I eat dirt and rocks well too! If that runs out, I don't know, then.." Those weird, cartoonish eyes of his quietly glanced down to where he was standing, his posture not budging for a milimeter, since he had Diane right there on his flat surface, quietly considering on what he'd do once food ran out. With the victims that the space pirates fed him, as their designated "Hostage disposal", they lasted for a while. First the skin, then the flesh, organs and, lastly, when he got truly hungry, the hair and the bones were decent enough to last him for a few more days, if he rationed them as much as he could. This time, however, now that he was in solid ground for the first time in his life, instead of trying to understand where he was or what he should do, he simply got taken into a maddened trance, of a starving demon surrounded by what, to him, was a cornucopia.
