Now that Komatsu found himself with his body, the after-life didn't seem so bleak. He was no longer just a number on a spreadsheet, just another soul cloud. He was a powerful individual granted the priviledge of keeping his body. No doubt that meant that there were greater things in store for him here... Although, he had no intention on pursuing whatever was in store for him, at least not yet... He still needed to find his parent's, or at least find out if they were here or down in HFIL.
He had been speaking to the Oni as a soul cloud, and even more so now that he had a body. They seemed more willing to interact with him now which made his search a lot easier... he had been able to confirm that his mother had been sent to the upper worlds, and that she was getting ready to participate in the Other World Martial Arts Tournament... If his father had been sent up here as well, no doubt that was where he would be too... heh like hell his dad would pass up an opportunity to fight strong fighters like him.
Well, that just meant he had a lot of ground to cover... the tournament was being held on a completely separate planet than he was currently on, and according to the Oni he would have to travel for at least 4 days.
So he began his journey, leaving the initial planet behind and flying for hours on end. There was no where to take a break between them... and he was told that getting too close to the orange clouds below would mean he would get dragged down into hell... a fate he had so far avoided and planned to keep avoiding it.
It took him a full day of flying to reach another planet here in the other world... It was strange to say the least, the grass was as tall as tree's back on earth, and the tree's were... well enormous! At least this would provide him with a good place to rest and regain his strength before continuing his journey.
"This is taking forever..." The second and third days of his journey were very much like his first... long hours of flying, and little rest in between his flights. He knew he had all the time in the universe to spend searching for them... but he had spent so much time suffering on his own that he didn't want to spent a single more moment alone... He missed them so much.
Somewhere between the fourth and fifth day of his journey, Komatsu finally came across the planet that he was looking for... it was quite easy to tell as all of the souls on this planet had their bodies, each adorned with the same halo that hovered above his head. With a big grin, the saiyan child flew down towards the planet, landing on a patch of freshly cut grass in some random clearing.
"Hey brat get out of the way!" The words barely reached the young saiyans ears in time for Komatsu to leap backwards and flip his way out of danger. The blue ki wave blasted passed him and smashed into another warrior who sent the beam up into the sky.
"what the hell is your problem kid, if you got hit by that... how old are or, were you anyways..." finally Komatsu could see who the voice was attached too. An alien female with green skin and white hair with a slender build, maybe a Brenchian?
"Sorry... I wasn't paying attention... i didn't notice you guys here... oh uhm... I'm 14..." For some odd reason, komatsu had gone back to the way he was as a young child. He wasn't speaking very much and actually seemed to be shy around this woman... whether it was because he found her attractive, or truly at a loss for words remained to be seen.
"14!? and you're dead? Here? with a body? *whistle* wow kid, this is a place of training for true warriors and heroes, you are going to get your ass handed to you on a silver platter! What are you doing here? You can't seriously be thinking of training or taking part in the tournament?" She didn't mean to sound cruel or condescending to the child, but she couldn't help it in this case. It was crazy to think that a kid his age managed to keep his body and make his way here at all! It definitely proved that he had strength... but if he was just recently dead, There's no way that he would be on par with some of the heroes, let alone herself.
"N..no I'm not here to participate, at least not yet. I was told I could find someone here... maybe you can help me. Her name is Tomoroko, she was one of the founders of the Saiyan Alliance... if you know what that is." Komatsu explained, looking away from the girl as the other man that had deflected the beam approached. As he got closer, Komatsu noted just how huge he was! He towered over the young saiyan, a real hulk of a man that was easily 8... 9 feet tall with muscles that seemed to have their own muscles. If he wasn't so huge he would have assumed he was human.
"You mean the little firebrand? Heh, girl hasn't even been dead a decade and she puts bigger men than me in their place. Yeah I know her, she usually trains out by the Eastern temple, fly up high enough and you can't miss it if you keep going east" The man's voice matched his physique, deep and several octaves lower than Koma could ever hope to make his own voice.
A smile spread across the young saiyan's features as he lifted himself off of the ground once more.
"Great! Thanks!" And before either of them could say anything more, Komatsu flared his red aura brightly around himself, relishing in the familiar sensation as he booked it away from the two aliens.
He wasted no time heading to the Eastern ruins... the large man had been right, there was no way he could miss it... it looked like an entire ancient kingdom had once stood here and now lie in ruins, he could see why it was an ideal training area.
Komatsu flew above the ruins, only coming down for a landing when he found a building with a high enough vantage point. He was absolutely exhausted from his journey... but no doubt he was so close to his goal, he couldn't let himself rest now...
As soon as Komatsu arrived, he was able to hear a very loud explosion on the area. If he looked closely, he would be able to see the exact point where it happened: less than a mile to the North, still on the temple area. Right there, he could see a man bare-chested, a tail swaying behind him, free, black tight jumpsuit legs, and a pair of saiyan-style boots and gloves. The hair was almost exactly the same as his older brother, Nasu, and the ghostly-white ki aura covering that man’s body was also too similar to Nasu’s own. A nostalgic feeling would probably hit the young saiyan. If his memory was in a good shape, he could notice that the saiyan right there was his deceased father, Natto.
Post by King of All on Feb 8, 2016 10:38:11 GMT -5
Komatsu would spin on his feels at the sound of the explosion, couching down low so that he wouldn't immediately be spotted (even though the tips of his hair would easily be able to be seen). He would peer over at the source of the explosion, focusing on the back of the heavily muscular form. It was almost like a bigger version of Nasu, and that thought easily clued the boy into who he was staring at. The corner of his eyes watered a bit as he stayed crouched down and simply stared at him.
"Why am I hesitating all of a sudden..." He mumbled to himself as he looked on at the familiar white Aura, expecting it to burst out into it's radiant gold aura at any moment. Suddenly, the building that Komatsu had made his perch began to shake and rumble before something on the inside of the building exploded.
"Woah!" He exclaimed in surprise, taking to the air so that he didn't fall towards his father like the building, but before he could get up and away from the building, a shadow bust out of the ground and kicked Komatsu right back into it. The young boy cursed as he landed face first into the falling building as it went crumbling down. While it was no where near enough to reach Natto, the force of his impact on the ground and the velocity of the falling building sent Komatsu tumbling quite some ways away.
Komatsu went tumbling head over heels, looking like some sort of spiked death ball as he rolled. He eventually came to a stop not too far away from Natto, groaning as he rubbed the back of his head.
"What the hell was that... Damn I'm still not used to having my body back... where..." He froze up suddenly, barely able to push himself back up to his feet as he looked back to the form of the man he had been staring at.
The muscular older saiyan slowly turned back to stare at the small spiky hair ball that was near him, on the ground. The moment his pitch black eyes caught sight of Komatsu, his expression became that of surprise; almost a complete shock. He couldn’t believe he was seeing his son right there, in the afterlife!
– K-koma?! It… It cannot be! And that halo! You… Died?! – The older saiyan gulped, with a drop of cold sweat running down his temple. The shock was clear on the saiyan’s tone, and a sudden surge of sadness also took over his expression. If he youngest son had died, something bad happened down there at the world of the living. Natto used to pay close attention to whatever was happening down there, but for the past days he had been focusing on the tournament.

"Uhm... yeah..." He muttered, as slowly his senses started to return to him. Even though he had been searching for his parents, to be standing in front of his dad again felt much more than surreal. His brain was still refusing to believe that the figure standing in front of him was real.
"It was a hell of a fight too. Took down half the lookout in my Great Ape form and killed some half bred bastard that was too chicken to face me one on one. It took a super saiyan plus some other fighters combined strength to take me down." The saiyan child gloated, obviously exaggerating his involvement in the fight. Truth be told, he was probably the most worthless fighter there, even in a form that was supposed to be one of the saiyan's most fearsome. His lie would have easily reflected in his eyes as he finished his lie.
He figured that Natto wouldn't believe him... but he really didn't care at this point. He had done what he thought was right in that moment, even if it meant his life... he had made that choice himself. Right now though, he couldn't get his eyes off of his dad. As soon as Komatsu had fallen silent, he was quick to close the gap between himself and Natto, wrapping his arms tightly around his fathers waist and burrying his head in his chest.

"Some idiot thought he could spy on our training. Probably thought he could get the upper hand by learning our moves." A woman's voice came from the sky as Tomoroko came in for a landing across from Nasu. She had expected whoever the hell she kicked to be lying on the floor either unconscious or pleading his innocence to Natto but instead just found her husband with some spikey haired...
"Komatsu?" She looked shocked as she stared at the ball of hair hugging her partner so tightly. Either she had just kicked her son with everything her base form had, or some strange kid looked an awful lot like her own...
It was clear like daylight that Komatsu was exaggerating; Natto could see that inside of his younger son’s eyes, but he didn’t say a word, he just stared at him with a little sadness in his eyes and, before he could do anything else, the saiyan kid hugged him tightly and that filled his heart with warmth and emotion. Natto hugged him back tightly, lifting him from the ground and a subtle smile appeared on the older saiyan’s face.
– Hey kid… It’s alright! It is good to see you again, although it saddens me that you died… I wanted you to live a longer happier life than this. I wanted your brothers, especially Nasu, to take care of you. – he started saying when Tomoroko finally arrived. The beautiful saiyaness had kicked Komatsu earlier and it was funny how shocked she was when she finally realized it was their younger kid there. Natto nodded, confirming the identity of the child and that made him chuckle and whisper to the kid. – I guess you should give your mommy a hug too… She really missed you, kid! – he said, putting him back on the ground.

"It's my fault... I shouldn't have snuck on board the Star Javelin back then... but I wouldn't be dead if it wasn't for stupid Nasu. He's not my brother..." He would grumble as he clung to his father a little tighter at the mention of Nasu. If his stupid brother wasn't so self absorbed and worried about his damn pride, he and Athren wouldn't have been on the lookout, he wouldn't have had to give his life for the one guy he truly considered his brother.
His brooding was cut short though as he heard a familiar woman's voice. His eyes started to well up again and for a moment, refused to let go of Natto because he knew that they would see him cry. While it wouldn't exactly be the first time they saw him cry, he was supposed to of have grown up, he was supposed to be a warrior, and warriors didn't cry when they saw their parents... but he just couldn't help it.
He let go of Natto, turning around quickly so that he wouldn't see, but quickly found himself in his mother's embrace. Tomoroko had walked straight up to the two boys and let herself fall to her knees as she wrapped her arms around Komatsu, holding him close to her.
That was when Koma broke and he just wasn't able to hold his tears back anymore. He hugged his mother tightly and he too let himself fall to his knees as he burrowed himself against her. Their hugs was all it took for Koma to finally let go of all the pain and hardship he had been through in life, and to start getting over his own death.
"Shhh. Hey, it's alright Komatsu..." She said gently as she passed her hand through his hair while petting the back of his head, letting the boy cry it out. She would look back up to Natto with a worried expression on her face. As saiyans they were never really good at dealing with the emotional aspect of situations... even as a mother of 4 kids, she still had a hard time in these situations.
It would take Koma a while before he was able to calm down again, rubbing furiously at his eyes, embarassed that he had broken down the way he did, but already he was starting to feel better.
"I'm sorry... It's just been... hard... I've been alone since... since the war..." He muttered at this point. Once he composed himself, he might actually be able to talk about what happened.

The kid mentioned about the time he had snuck upon the Mothership of his parents, but then he said that Nasu was to be blamed by his death, and the look of shock was quite obvious on Natto’s face. The older saiyan didn’t say a word, as he let the kid run and hug his mother. After that, Natto approached, hugging the two of them, with Komatsu in the middle of them, so he could be cuddled by both his parents, showing just how much they loved him and cared about him. Natto couldn’t hold his tears too and they started pouring down like crazy. – I’m sorry Koma… I’m sorry we died and left you all alone. I’m so very sorry… I wish I could be there for all of you. – he said, with guilt in his tone. It truly pained him to have fallen in battle, and Tomoroko knew that more than anyone. The blast that bastard fired at him was his fault for being too trusting, and that was one of the things that made Nasu becomes so bitter. Natto blamed himself for that too, and now that Komatsu died and this had something to do with it, he was really down.

With both of his parent's there Koma was able to calm down a lot more, taking in a deep breath and smiling faintly as he leaned against Tomo still. Tomo kept quiet at this point, as Natto's words expressed far more than she thought that she could say right now.
"It's ok... I don't blame you at all... It just... sucked is all. I... didn't really know you guys were actually dead until Nasu told me a few months ago. I mean, the guards told me you were but I didn't believe them. I just thought you had to retreat and..." He cut himself off there. He didn't want to accuse his parents for abandoning him because he knew it wasn't true... no matter how much he pushed himself to hate them and to hate Nasu for never having come back for him, deep down he knew that his parents couldsn't. And if Nasu had tried, well it would be one man against the Empire and it wouldn't have gone very well.
He just shook his head as he tried once more to push the tears from his face, but was met by his mothers hand on his cheek as she angled him to look at her.
"What do you mean it was Nasu's fault, Koma? You two have always been different and I know you're having a hard time, but no matter what you are brothers... " While her grip on him was gentle, her eyes demanded answers, much like when she scolded him back home. Koma couldn't help the chuckle that passed through his mind. Was it possible to actually miss getting scolded?
"Well, he's not the one who killed me but, he decided to go on this big mission to destroy Earth's Kami and the lookout. I'm not too sure what it was all about, he talked to Athren about it, not me... Anyways he didn't know that she could go super saiyan and things just started going down hill from there." Komatsu would explain slowly, noticing the strange look that his mother gave to his father. He couldn't quite make out what it was... concern? maybe?
"So... the Kami's a female super saiyan. Well... that was a lot faster than I expected..." Tomoroko would mumble, more so towards Natto than to Komatsu as she moved her hand from his cheeck to return stroking the young boy's head.
– If we were alive, we would never allow the Empire to keep you hostage, Koma! – Natto said with a firm tone, and the saiyan child knew it was true, because Natto and Tomoroko weren’t known for being cowards or even cold headed. Then, Tomoroko asked why he blamed Nasu for his death and Natto was curious to know that too and just stood there, listening to the duo talking. Koma then explained that although Nasu wasn’t the one who killed him, he decided to attack the Lookout with a guy named Athren, which made Natto immediately arch both of his brows in surprise.
– The Saiyan Prince? – he exclaimed, feeling rather surprised with such an unexpected alliance. Natto and his mother were mortal enemies back in the day, and seeing their kids as friends and comrades was something quite unlikely, but then Komatsu mentioned that the Kami had become a super saiyan and that was something really odd. Natto narrowed his eyes and his expression become more serious. He stared at Tomoroko and, after she spoke, it was his turn.
– Tomo… Do you think it’s she…? – he asked bluntly.
Post by King of All on Feb 8, 2016 17:20:19 GMT -5
"I know that now... it was just easier then to think you would... and yeah, weird right? But it's actually because of the Prince that I wasn't being held by the Empire anymore. I owed him my life so whenever the Kami's combined attack would of killed him, well I payed him back for saving me." He explained finally. Everything felt like it was finally off of his chest now, like he had gone through the cleanser a million times instead of just one. Now that he was feeling more relaxed though, he started to catch on to a few things that had happened or had been said and Komatsu couldn't help but raise his eyebrows.
"Dad... what did you mean earlier when you said you hoped my brothers would look after me... and why are you two looking at each other like that? Do you know who the Kami is?" He asked, pulling away from his hug with Tomo to look from his father to his mother, and back again.
"Yeah... I mean what are the odds of another saiyan taking up that mantle..? There is one way to find out though. King Yemma does owe us one for that incident last week... or month... I still can't tell how time works here." Tomoroko sounded serious at first, but then seemed to relax as she spoke of the concept of time here in the after life. Even after the years they were dead, it still felt strange to her.
As for this favor... well there was a lot she planed on doing with it... and the first would be giving her son his life back. As much as she wanted to stay with him so that nothing could ever happen to him again, it wasn't fair that he was dead at 14...
Natto took a very deep breath and exhaled slowly, closing his eyes and scratching the back of his head almost frenetically. There was just too much on his plate right now: the Saiyan Prince was kind and good to Komatsu despite knowing who he was, and had allied himself with Nasu, which was something completely against the odds, but, still, happened. Maybe the saiyans would begin to join forces again. But that could be for the good or for the bad, depending on which side would be the dominant, and that concerned Natto. He wasn’t among the world of the living anymore, but plenty of loved ones were.
– Tomo, if it’s truly she… We need to do something about that, otherwise our kids will end up killing themselves. For her to become Kami… That’s quite something… To think that guy would really lure her to that position… I don’t know, it almost feels like it is fate. – he said in a concerned tone. Then, he nodded at her and stared back at Komatsu. – Get ready, kid! We are going to have a small talk with King Yemma, and we will get your life back! – he said with that gentle smile of his that was one of his trademarks. Natto, the kind saiyan, as some knew him for.

"What? No no no no no no no that's wrong. She's nothing like us! I mean... just no!" Komatsu's eyes went wide at the revelation. Though they didn't straight up say that Kami was their sister, the implecation was there! How the hell did they even have a sister!? He'd never seen her growing up! He didn't even remember having an incubation chamber for her! There was no way what they were saying was true. However, as he continued to look between them, his heart continued to sink. It hit rock bottom when Natto gave him his usual smile and cheerily told him that he was going to be going back to life.
"Wait, don't I get a say in anything? I don't want to go back! There's nothing there for me! I wan't to stay here with you guys..." Komatsu pleaded with them, looking at each of them in turn as if one of them would break under his puppy dog eyes.
Tomo however moved her hand to pat his head before pushing herself up to her feet, reaching down to take Koma's hand so she could help him up now as well.
"Listen Komatsu, you've got more family left than you think, and like it or not you are going to go back. You're 14, you're still just a kid. There's so much more you need to do before you can stay dead. It's not that I don't want you here Komatsu but it's just not time for you to stay yet. Now come on, we need to make it back to the check in station and we'll explain more once we're there alright?" Tomoroko stated with her own smile. Her words were gentle as usual, but there was still a harshness behind them that had scared many an enemy.
Komatsu wanted to continue to disagree, he didn't want to go back no matter what reasoning they gave him. He wanted to stay here with them... but he could probably devise a plan to stay after he had heard their explanation... though why they needed to go to the check in station was beyond him.
Natto was about to talk back to Komatsu, but Tomoroko did it first and he only nodded in agreement with what his mate had just said: Komatsu was way too young to be stuck in the afterlife and he had to go back no matter what. Luckily, for him, King Yemma owned them a favor and this could be easily solved. Therefore, Natto only patted the kid’s head in a gentle manner and chuckled a bit. – Easy Koma… We will be reunited again soon… We just want you to have a proper life first, that’s all. There’s still so much you can do and accomplish down there. And seeing just how things are between you and Nasu, I want to hope you guys can solve it! I don’t want my kids to be at war against each other… Which leads me directly to that… - he said, sighing again and staring at Tomoroko, almost like mentally speaking to her about the Guardian of the Earth, who happened to be their secret daughter.

"I'm not going to go to war with Nasu, he's just a big idiot..." for some reason he couldn't even bring himself to say that he hated him anymore. Koma was the one who acted like the ass hole when they first met... it was his fault there was this feud between them now anyways. At first it was because he just wanted his older brother to notice him, to treat him like an equal, then he used his capture as an excuse to hate him. He took in a deep breath when Natto padded his head and smiled gently.
"I still don't want to go back." He began put Tomo patted his back so hard the boy had to take a step forward to stop himself from falling over. He looked back to his mother with a raised eyebrow, especially as she was still smirking at him.
"The more time we waste here, the less explaining gets done. Now come here, and hang on tight. If you go at your speed we'll never get there." She teased him as she wrapped her arms around him as if she was giving him a hug again. This time however, her aura kicked up around her, the red quickly turning to gold as the pushed herself into her super saiyan transformation. Komatsu couldn't help but look up at her with a bright smile when she did that, it brought back a feeling he hadn't felt since he was little. He felt safe, and proud, and happy.
"I think the tournament training can wait, right?" She asked, waiting for Natto's response before she would take off into the skies while still holding onto Komatsu. Sure he could fly himself, but he couldn't fly nearly as fast as they could.
