Appearance:
Galen is 5’6” with a muscular but slender build. He has a medium-sized straight brown hair, mostly covered by an orange bandana. His eyes are black and gentle in look. The human usually wears a long sleeved blue shirt that goes all the way down to about an inch above his knees, with a light orange sleeveless jacket on top of it. He has light green pants and long brownish-green boots almost reaching his knees. Galen uses a brown belt on top of his jacket and and a green back. He also have a bastard sword on his back.

Backstory:

Age 1,562

Galen is born in a rather small village near Mount Paozu, the second of four children his parents, Nate and Martha had. His parents were rice farmers, living by selling their crops to the big cities. It was a peaceful village named Goddodin, unscathed by bandits or murderers.

Age 1,564

The young human boy already knew how to walk and talk a few words and liked to play swordsman with his older sister, Esther. The two were really close. On this same year, his younger sister, Marle, was born and the family only grew happier.

Age 1,567

By the age of five, Galen started helping his family with the rice fields and developed a liking to the job. His older sister, on the other hand, wanted to become an adventurer and leave the village. She was already nine years old and thought she was old enough to decide. Near new year’s eve, the last child of the couple was born, a baby boy named Garret.

Age 1,569

Esther left home without a warning, leaving everyone sad, especially Galen, who had lost his swordplay partner. It was a year of tears for the rice farmer’s family.

Age 1,571

News of Esther arrived: she had been kidnapped by a bear zoan bandit on the high parts of Mount Paozu and was being used as a sex slave. The family became desperate and didn’t know what to do, as they had no way to save her nor the money to hire mercenaries for the job. Unable to deal with that situation, Galen decided to go look for his sister. He stole an old short sword from the blacksmith of the village and ran away during the night.

The young boy spent days searching for his older sister and sleeping in the woods, where he had to struggle to find himself enough food and deal with the savage animals, until he managed to track down the bandit’s lair. Finally there, he confronted the villain and fought him bravely, but was far outclassed and dominated in battle. The boy was about to be executed by the bear zoan, when he managed to harvest some inner power inside of him and attack the enemy with a powerful punch with a power he had never seen before.

The punch was enough to knockout the enemy, although it left Galen completely drained, almost fainting. Esther, now free from the monster ran towards her younger brother, thanking him, and, together, they fled the bandit’s lair, returning home.

Back at Goddodin, the duo were welcomed by everyone, who praised Galen for his act of bravery.

Age 1,572

Concerned about the bandit that was lurking so close to the village, the elder decided that they needed warriors and chose a few members of the village to go on a training journey to the Orin temple. The monks of the Orin temple accepted to teach the basic of ki control to the few selected and, among them was Galen, who showed the huge potential.

The training was intense and focused on teaching the basic skills, such as flight and ki blasts. From the ten people sent to the temple, only three remained after the first year of training.

Age 1,575

Galen finished his basic ki mastery training and came back to Goddodin with the two others who endured the training. When he got back, they were praised as the protectors of the village, but peace reigned there.

Age 1,576-77

Due to the peace, the two other warriors slacked off and stopped training. Galen, on the other hand, continued his training as much as he could, but to little development. His style was pretty much self-taught, but focused on the use of a sword, developing some ki-based techniques.

Age 1,578

By the middle of the year, during the crops festival, the bear zoan bandit, together with a small arm of evil zoans came to Goddodin to take revenge on Galen and Esther. The battle was fierce and fearsome, but the bandits had the upper hand, especially because, other than Galen, the other two warriors weren’t training, so they lost part of their skill and power. The outcome of the battle was terrible: Goddodin was completely destroyed and most of their citizens were slain. The bandits were also severely injured and others killed and the final battle was between Galen and the bandit leader.

The two of them battled and when Galen was about to die, he managed to tap into his inner power again and pierce through the stomach of the villain, ultimately killing him. However, other than Esther, everyone on the village was dead.

Age 1,579

After the destruction of Goddodin, the two siblings traveled to East City. Esther decided to stay there and start a new life, but Galen didn’t want to. He wanted to travel across the world and help people. He didn’t want any other village to suffer the fate of Goddodin and he wanted to use his skills to help people.

Age 1,582

Galen was far more skilled and was gaining a fame of Samaritan on the eastern lands, and now had decided to start traveling to the western lands, due to the legends of a holy place where ancient protectors of Earth lived.

Age 1,583

The young human got lost in the desert and it took him a whole year to find his way out, reaching the southern part of the continent. During his time in the desert, he battled countless bandits, defeating them and saving people. The Lone Swordsman, as he was known now became a sign of hope and happiness for people.

Age 1,584

He reached the southern islands where he discovered about the Tenkaichi Budokai, the most famous martial arts tournament of all times. This showed him that he still needed to improve his skills in order to become a true beacon of hope to people. He gathered information and discovered a route to the place known as Korin’s Holy Grounds, where good warriors could learn and develop their skills. Determined to reach it, he traveled.

Age 1,585

Galen finally reached the western lands, at the fortuntellers desert where he started his journey towards the holy grounds. When he finally approached it, he sensed absurd destruction and this gave him a tip on where it was the place he had to go. It was nearly the end of the year.

Age 1,586

With the near year, he reached the Korin’s Tower. There was destruction all over the area with pieces of a destroyed structure and he knew he had to go up on it. This was the true start of his new journey.
