Bernael knew that he should probably grow stronger, he truly needed to. After everything at the Lookout recently, the boy noticed that his power was very minuscule, and seeing how hard Nasu could just throw his fists around was something that was unlike any other he had seen. In fact, that was the first time he had seen such immense power come from somebodies hand alone, with nothing else added behind it. With that in mind, he definitely needed more training, and who else to train with than the powerful woman that he had taken such a liking too, Atsuko.
It didn't take him much time to just set himself out towards the Lookout where he was used to seeing the saiyaness at, especially considering she was the Kami of the entire planet, and that was her home where she needed to watch over the entire world anyways. Bernael felt like there was more reasons to go visit the girl anyways, but those wouldn't really be focused on for the most part, at least the boy didn't feel too welcome to try and complete what his other reasons were, aside from inviting her to the gravity chamber once more considering it was there and he had yet to even test it out, the thing was probably annoyed at him too considering it was of use and hadn't been so much as walked into since the day he bought it. Though his mind couldn't linger on there for too much longer as he continued to blast off towards the lookout, which was coming into sight for the demon boy at that point. He clenched his fists and smiled, hopefully his desire for a training session wouldn't be interrupting anything else that was on the saiyaness' mind or schedule just yet.
Without further ado however, the boy would land on the edge of the lookout, slowly powering down as he would calm down, because he was using his Hidden Power to make his speed boost to something entirely different than what his base form was capable of, however he desired not to go into his Full Fledged Demon form yet in fear of it consuming him more or making him have... other more carnal desires that would come with his sinister and corrupted nature in the form recently mentioned and obtained. He continued to walk towards the lookout's palace however, as he would make his way towards the throne room as well. Not only did he find it natural for the woman to be here, but he also hoped that she would be in the throne room itself. He wouldn't be worried if he didn't find her in the throne room however, who knew where she would be in the large palace anyways.
The demonic human would slowly clench his fists with a smirk on his face as he would just shout outwards, not knowing if it was needed as his normal power was out there as well, not hiding it in any way in the first place. "Atsuko! It's me Bernael! Are you here!" the boys voice would shoot out throughout the hallways and such, as he would slowly drop himself into silence as he would continue to look around on his way towards the throne room.

It was another thankfully quiet day on the Lookout. Despite all of her expectations, things had become quite peaceful. The Albino Saiyan was currently reading through another one of her books; she had finished her share of the repairs today. It still wasn't back to it's perfect condition... But it was getting there. It was certainly nowhere near as unstable, and at least on the surface, things looked like they should. There were still other details to fix up, various hallways and rooms. She made the Hyperbolic Time Chamber a priority; that was essential in her ability to stop the total destruction of the Lookout.
They could make use of that in the future, so as one would have expected, once the Lookout itself wasn't suffering from falling over or cracking apart entirely from the slightest force, the Time Chamber's door was the next priority to be taken care of. The more the Knight thought about it, the more she wanted to start work on fixing it all up again... But there was little reason to do so; all things would come in time, and she still needed to be able to take care of her other duties. These matters could be left in capable hands.
Those of her allies, and those of her Assistant, Arion... Her musings were interrupted as she felt someone approaching the Lookout, a fairly high power level. One that she had become very accustomed to, that was Bernael. Her deduction had been proven correct when she then heard his voice calling out to her. The Albino Saiyan closes the book and sets it aside for the moment, as the half demon enters the Throne Room, she smiles at him. "Bernael! It's good to see you again. Actually, I've been meaning to talk to you about something..."
She began as she stood up from the throne, walking over to him calmly. "I've been doing a lot of training; Excalibur has been teaching me quite a lot.", she explained, then gesturing for Bernael to follow her as she began to make her way outside at a calm pace. "You remember back in that battle... How despite the fact that I was stronger, Nasu was able to overpower me? I correctly guessed that it was due to his skill. He was able to strike efficiently, without tiring himself out. He became a Martial Artist.", she continued her explanation to the half demon.
"It was due to this that I knew that I had to refine my power. The Super Saiyan form holds a massive drain on those that use it... But if you form the right basis for controlling your Ki, you can overcome this flaw and perfect the form. That was the first step I had taken.", her speech continued as they were now outside. The Saiyan calmly turns to him. "My Super Saiyan state has become even stronger, but raw power wasn't enough. Excalibur kept telling me to collect this small fortune for these materials she needed..."
The Knight then paused for a moment, allowing the sword at her side to glow and then take shape into human form. The woman in red was wearing a smug grin, as she often did. "All necessary... For this!", the Sacred Sword suddenly exclaimed as reality began to shift around them. They were no longer standing on the Lookout. Instead they were standing in a large, extravagantly decorated location! "This is my Reality Marble! I am able to shift it entirely to my will, it can fit any of our training needs. It can be destroyed and reformed in an instant!"
The woman in red elaborated further. "This is what I used to teach Atsuko everything she needed to know about wielding me properly in battle. She wasn't wrong... Nasu became a Martial Artist. But right now, my wielder is a Martial Arts Master~!", she then added, her smug grin growing more noticeable as she finished. The Albino Saiyan shook her head, smiling a little. "Well... Now exactly how I would have explained it all, but it's true. I was able to learn everything that Excalibur had to teach. I know enough about the style to be able to each others."
With that, the reason for explaining all of this would become quite clear, so the Knight took a breath. Before then making her next speech. "Bernael, you've been there for me no matter how desperate things got. You and the others had the option of running away, but you stayed by my side... I would prefer facing dangers like that alone... But I know that's unfair to you all.", Atsuko stated. "But if you really want to help me, then it's only fair that I teach you how to fight! You'll be able to call on Excalibur's power, just like I'm able to..."
The Albino Saiyan then looked Bernael in the eyes. "So what do you think? Do you want to become one of the Knights of the Round? You'll truly learn how to fight, with your own body, and with your sword. It won't be an easy task. But... I'll help you with the training, for as long as it takes. I can't make you accept, but if you do, you'll be better equipped to face any danger... We saw how effective it was due to Nasu; skill can overcome sheer power. Imagine what an entire group trained like that can do!"
The Knight said with a now confident smile on her face. If Bernael accepted, this training would not only improve his power, but his skill. He could become one of the strongest Protectors of Earth. Not only that, but there were others that had expressed interest in receiving training too. The Albino Saiyan had intentions to train them all; Ayami, Christopher... They may not be very strong at the moment, but they could learn and grow. This was something that they needed to do, they needed an army to compete with the Saiyan Alliance, as well as the Saiyan Empire.
They would need an army to tackle any threat great enough to endanger Earth. Aside from all of that... This training would benefit herself, too.

Bernael's face would light up just hearing Atsuko's voice alone, but seeing her again was always a cherished moment all on its own. Once he was finally in the throne room and was able to look over at her, he would smile widely and wave over to her. "Hey Atsuko! Well, I came here to talk to you about something as well but I can save that for a little bit from now. Nice to see you too!" he would respond, his face showing intent determination as he would continue to go towards her. Which also helped considering she was getting up and walking over as well so he was able to meet her at the half wait point and stop.
The saiyaness' words intrigued the boy though, so she had been training alongside her sword huh? Well honing ones skills was always nice so there was a good bit of understanding taken up at the thought of the words, which made him also think about how his entire reason had been for training. He wouldn't speak up however though, as Atsuko had motioned for him to follow her to somewhere for some reason, which he of course had nothing against so he would just give a firm nod and walk with her. "Oh yeah, I was just thinking about that on my way here. He had no shortage of power of course but the gap between you and him was noticeable enough to make me wonder why he was able to just punch right through your defenses. So that is what a martial artist is like..." he would say, looking down at the ground, sort of worried of how fierce skill was in the middle of combat, which would set him apart in battle by a large margin considering how recently he had joined the group of fighters despite how old he was.
Though he would shake the thought away, that was clearly important in some way so he would listen to Atsuko a lot more. It was all intriguing him in enough ways for his mind to spin with ideas, all of this sounded extremely worth it so his focus wouldn't waver for a single second as he would clench his fists and feel as if he needed power all like that. "I noticed that your forms power was becoming a bit stronger, not too big but the power difference was of course there. Though, in the end of all of that, you needed more..." he would shake his head slowly, as it all sounded pretty out of his league as his form was incredibly lower than the others he had came across, though that was only a little bit of the problem which could be easily shaken off.
The demon boys eyes would go wide however, as reality itself would distort and make it appear like they were taken to an entirely different place from where they were. Bernael would just look around at it all, mostly awestruck at everything around him as his mind was filled with thoughts. "Reality Marble.... its... its beautiful" the boy would say, taking his time looking around before smirking. "I know its not the intended purpose but this would be a pretty romantic place for a dance wouldn't it? Just look at how beautiful it all is, just taking the time to be in here is worth it let along relaxing and breaking for a loving dance..." he would say, sort of musing on the idea of dancing with the girl he was with but slowly shaking it out of his mind considering he himself admitted that the purpose wasn't intended for that. His fists would close though, keeping the thought in the back of his mind even if it wasn't a primary focus sort of deal.
His thoughts were shot away because of Excalibur however, as he turned to look at her. "Martial Arts Master?!" he would say, eyeing over Atsuko a little bit. If Nasu was just a martial artist, but Atsuko was a master... what was the difference in power now?! It was a little scary to think on but this was a perfect chance. "So you can even teach others huh... in the ways that you learned... to give them that skill that Nasu used... for themselves..." he would slowly gulp, the more he thought on it, the more the training itself that he had came there for was approaching, was it going to be all he thought of it though? Or would it all come crashing down on his head. The type of sword Excalibur was... and what he was... they didn't mix at all in his mind, but perhaps this was going to be different, perhaps they could mix.
It was then that the Saiyan Knight brought up something that he didn't care much for in terms of what he had to think about to remember what she was referencing, but he would shake his head a bit more before speaking up once more. "No... you aren't SUPPOSED to face dangers like that alone. You may want to but a guardian shouldn't leave themselves to danger all alone like that... so thank you... for understanding that it would be unfair..." he would semi-lash out but in a worried tone. "I want to be there for you... through every moment that comes by... not just the desperate ones..." the demon boy would say, clenching his fists more. "And you know my feelings about you... thinking about leaving you to such danger all by yourself would shred at me, there isn't a moment of my life I would be able to leave you behind like that Atsuko..." the demonic human finished off, turning a bit away, looking quite serious with his words before pushing those serious thoughts out of his mind.
"...I do... I want to become a knight of the round. To be able to wield my sword and my body in the name of how you were taught. I don't care how hard it is and I don't care how long it will take. I feel... I feel ready to do this. Thank you for helping me with this... it means a lot to me you know. You wont need to ever make me accept either... I accept this with open mind and open heart... with an open mind helping me make the decision." Bernael's smile turned even more determined as his talking went on. "I will undertake this training, even if it takes a long time and its earned through hard work that strains me so... I desire it, I came here to train alongside you... and if this is what it was meant to be, well... I feel honored to be a member." Bernael would then nod again, fully accepting the terms that the lady was giving to him, as he understood them well enough.
He didn't know how to start however, so he would just stand tall and look towards her with hard cut and locked eyes that spelled all on their own the word 'ready', but he wouldn't leave his eyes to do all of the talking. "Atsuko... whenever you are ready to start training me, I would be honored... even if it right this very moment, I will give it my hard work, and time of day to get through this, alright!?" he would say to her, getting into a ready position as he would wait for her instruction.
As soon as Bernael brought up the location being perfect for a dance, Excalibur's face practically lit up. "Yes! You understand perfectly! This Martial Arts Style is just like conducting a beautiful dance on the battlefield!", the Sacred Sword exclaimed without hesitation, taking great pride in both of her works of art. There was one thing that could definitely be said about Excalibur; she was passionate. And it was a rather admirable trait, it was easy for someone to get the impression that she was conceited or overly smug, but at the end of the day... The Sacred Sword really just wanted praise.
She was easy to please, in that regard. A few words of compliment, even if unintentional, and you were on her good side. "Since you understand this so well, I'm certain you'll have no difficulties mastering this style! Hmhm, that's good! I expected nothing less out of the one to steal my wielder's heart!", she then added. Immediately prompting the Albino Saiyan to blush in response. "It's... Ah, I know she doesn't listen when she's like this...", the Knight finally conceded. Well that, and Bernael was a really nice guy, she didn't mind the idea of romance with him.
But that wasn't the subject of today! It was about the fact that she had mastered a Martial Arts Style, and wanted to train Bernael in it's usage. But he needed to know a little bit about what they would be doing first. "That's right... I'm able to train others now. I actually have quite the list of candidates built up, you're among them of course. Actually, you're the first one to actually start training now that you've accepted.", the Knight explained in a calm tone of voice. Their subject then turned to the fact that she preferred facing dangers like that alone.
The Saiyan let out a small sigh, she really didn't like the idea of everyone getting in danger over her... But it's not like the Saiyan was able to convince them to not pull crazy stunts like that. "I know you have your reasons, I just have my own for feeling the way that I do. This is what I'm meant to do, keep everyone safe... That includes you, and all of our friends. I'm not afraid to face my fate, but I'm definitely afraid of everyone getting hurt.", the Saiyan then lowers her gaze slightly as she recalls what happened to Jarvis.
That happened because she became blinded by her rage. If she hadn't been handling that so poorly, maybe if there was a way she had actually convinced everyone to flee and let her handle that alone... But it was too late to worry about what ifs, and she wasn't going to spoil the mood further by bringing that up. "Still... If you're well trained, I'll worry about that less. So this will be a benefit in many ways!", the Knight then stated, now seeming a little more happy to discard her depressing thoughts.
"I know how hard a request it would be for me to make that you don't fight, too. In fact... I've spent so much time encouraging you to do just that, so I won't turn back on my word now.", the Saiyan then stated. Now it was time to go over what their training would cover! "We're going to start it off simple! You need to learn the basic fundamentals. This will be your stance, your footwork, and how to best attack without breaking either! After you've done this, you will learn three techniques unique to the style!", she explained.
The Knight then proceeded to elaborate on the techniques. "The first is Invisible Air. This will be your primary method of calling upon Excalibur's power, and it will grow in power as your skill within the style grows. The second is Mana Burst, which allows you to collect an amount of energy into your body and weapon, and then instantly expel it to increase performance! Finally, there's Avalon. Excalibur's Sheath, this will let you heal your allies and yourself if you have need of it.", the Saiyan paused momentarily on her speech, thinking over what needed to be said next.
"Mana Burst and Avalon are both unique; they can be refined at your leisure. Regardless of your skill within the Style. You may want to seek out that avenue... Without further ado, let's start training!", with that, the Albino Saiyan would then draw her sword and take stance. "Like I said before, we're going to start with stance. This is the way that Excalibur taught me how to fight, so if you want, mimic the stance I'm using.", the Saiyan explained to the half demon. "I'll instruct you further as necessary once I see your stance!", the Albino Saiyan finished.
Her stance was relatively simple, her legs were spread apart just enough to keep her balance, even if she were to be struck. It also gave off the feel that she would be able to move with ease. Her sword was held in a two-handed stance, off to the side. This gave her a wide range of motion, and always allowed her to keep her sword within bearing. But most importantly, it let her take her opponents off guard. Bernael seemed to have a pretty good head on his shoulders, but this was a pretty complex style to take in all at once...
But Atsuko had all the time in the world to walk him through it. This training was going to benefit her just as much, and she was eager to see just how much he could actually learn. Maybe he could pull off the same feat that she had done, a style mastered in a single day! Ha, it sounds outlandish, but... Excalibur really was that excellent of a teacher. She hoped to be able to follow in her footsteps for Bernael. For Ayami and Christopher, too. Everyone was relying on her, and she didn't intend to fail.
It was going to be a very long training session, there was no mistake about that...

Bernael would slowly chuckle at the swords words, honestly she was quite interesting to be around after all this time, and he still found her quite intriguing but that wasn't the topic that was at hand. "Well I am glad that I understand it well enough.." he would reply before the sword spoke up again, which shot Bernael into a little chuckle again, this time because he wasn't expecting it at all, though the prospect of it was nice in the end of it all. "Well I hope that even without that aspect of me, I would be fully ready and able to go through with the style... however, I am glad to know that you think I've gotten so far... so as to say I stole the heart already" the boy would say, casting a smirking gaze over towards Atsuko, either to tease her a bit alongside the sword or to just be curious about the words and if the sword was right. Either way, he would push beyond it soon enough.
"Well then Atsuko, since I am the first up, I can also be a testing phase, to see if what you're doing is good! Though, I have no doubt in my mind that you will be perfect for it... you were a great trainer back when we first met as well... remember? You and Tau taught me things I didn't know because I didn't know a single thing at the time... And both of you taught me... so very well. All this time I've looked up to you as a teacher at times... time to show me I was right!" the boy would say, feeling quite determined with his words as if they were fully true. Though he had no real doubts with it anyways, he didn't just have to feel that they were true, most of him believed that Atsuko was a good teacher and that all of this would be a huge benefit.
He listened over her words and just nodded to her, the entire thing was a pretty sad event and he didn't want to go too much into it, but he understood her side perfectly well, he felt the same way in all honesty but didn't want to push his friends away, he understood how people felt when somebody close to them died. He just clenched his fists up a little bit, nodding as he thought about it. "I know I don't have to fear of it much now... but if I did leave back when you asked me... you wouldn't be here with me..." he would say, gritting his teeth gently as he shook his head. "I... I only don't listen to you when you want to do those things because... I don't want to lose you... I don't want to be sitting somewhere one day going 'hey I wonder where Atsuko is right now, she hasn't checked in for quite a bit' and never know that you didn't make it... but knowing that I didn't help you... during that fight that took you... would tear me up even more... I couldn't lose you, it would destroy me. Even though I stayed in our last one... you almost lost your life... if all of us left you... I don't know if you would have made it to becoming a super saiyan." Bernael would be clenching his fists tightly, shaking his head slowly. "I am sorry... I just... I don't want to lose you... you're the one I love... I just can't... accept that... those are my reasons." he would say, shaking his head feeling he was an idiot or something before getting back into a peppy and excited mood.
"Simple huh? Well that is good, I would like to start off with all of the easy to learn stuff first, and after that we can work into the harder stuff as this training advances" Bernael continued on, hitting his fist against the others palm. "I can't wait to learn the stance however, if that will help my combat, then everything will be alright for this..." he then just got into a listening mood, slowly nodding as he listened to her explain the style, giving a gentle nod to show that he understood her. "So we'll start off with a set of skills after showing me stance maneuvering. That sounds pretty simple for now... I will follow along as instructed then" the boy would reply before falling into a gentle silence. It was time to get to training then? Well that was pretty sweet!
Though as he looked over her style, he understood that his sword was probably going to be needed for now if he wanted to fully replicate it. Thus, he would slowly shuffle his feet into a poor attempt in regards to her footing, if looked at by any random person it would probably appear pretty good and like a direct copy, but for someone who actually knew the footwork and the stance, well, it probably looked like a cheap ripoff that wouldn't help at all, an imitation perhaps. Like chocolates that have the same look, texture, and a brand name that is nearly identical, but the taste can never match up to the real deal. Either way, his feet were spread as so, just in a way that didn't show balance, like he would be easily tipped over and would just stumble at the feeling of a hand on him. Though in terms of how he held his sword, that was an entirely different thing. His sword wasn't exactly fit for a 'natural' two handed position, so he held it as a more one hand at the very top, right before the blade would start, and the other hand holding it as far in as he could, though he would be able to adapt it better as time went on anyways, it was just the best he could work with for the time being.
It all looked pretty sloppy, and even Bernael felt it wasn't that great himself at all yet, but he had to wait to get pointers for the most part on his positioning, if he just tried to fix it he would probably be messed up in a different way than just the stuff that was already wrong, like his foots positioning was a little off even though he was spread apart, or his shoulders being misaligned for holding the sword in the first place. It could be countless how many things he did wrong for the time being, but he wouldn't worry too much on it as he would be what was probably an important thing for himself at least. He was calm, relaxed, and determined all at the same time to get through this. Though that was only for now, he didn't know how much more there was to go through, for all he knew there was going to be an entire days worth of training to do, all of which would break him up to get tired over time. He didn't mind however, this was his time to show that he could keep up in terms of training and learning, even if his power was faltering, it wasn't going to just make him fall out altogether.
"So Atsuko... Excalibur developed this style to better have you wield her, right?" the boy would ask, holding the position as best he could while trying to talk. "If that is the case, why are you teaching this to other people? Isn't it supposed to be kept sort of... secret arts, I understand if that it entirely wrong but I just feel like I am not exactly... worthy, for this kind of event you know?" the boy would continue on, shaking his head very gently as he talked before just falling off balance because of his head shaking, only to regain his composure before falling completely over, just to get back in the stance. "Also I know I am barely starting off with this, but how many steps are there left? This is the basics and simple stuff... what is after that?" he went on to ask, before falling into a serene silence, awaiting either a reply or just for the training to continue on.
Bernael seemed to like the praise he had received from Excalibur, as well as her following words... Both of them seemed to have more than a little fun poking fun at the Albino Saiyan, the Knight wished to say that she hated it, but... Truthfully, she didn't entirely dislike it. It was just trying to cope with the feelings she was experiencing. That was the hard part, she had spent her entire life never really thinking about matters of a more romantic affair; everything she had been taught, and was working towards were more directed towards a heroic lifestyle. Battling evil at every point!
Saving lives... Hell, even saving the world at this rate. The half demon seemed to be well aware of this, and moved the subject onto how she had been helping him train already... That was true, the two had a natural style that meshed together very well. "Yeah, I remember that! Tau was such a hard worker, to think that I actually ended up going passed her... I never thought that would happen!", the Knight admitted. "She's still my friend, of course... We're on very good terms despite everything that has happened.", the Saiyan then elaborated further.
She was glad that they still got along, jealousy and envy were terrible things. Tau seemed to not be bothered by things like that, however. Instead she realized the potential in being able to defend Earth. For that, she would always respect the human girl. "But setting that aside... I guess that means we'll be doing what we've always done! Soon enough we'll be able to show everyone the results of our hard work. It may not be as effective as the Hyperbolic Time Chamber... At least not in terms of raw power, but you will definitely feel the difference in skill!"
Despite the good nature of their conversation so far, the subject did turn back to the depressing events that had taken place back on the Lookout. He had very good reasons for not wanting to abandon her during that battle, and she could entirely understand why none of them were willing to listen to her. Even Cambia was willing to risk it all to protect her, it was a rather heartwarming thought, but at the same time... It was something that made the Saiyan deathly afraid; the thought of losing someone that she cared about was a very real risk.
It happened once already. She couldn't afford another mistake like that, above all else she needed to constantly improve herself. Atsuko would need to ascend into a higher stage of Super Saiyan as well... Her mastered state was beyond useful, but it still paled in comparison to that twisted form that Athren had achieved. If he alone came back, that would be difficult to overcome. But if he and Nasu came back after training? Along with respective armies? That would be disastrous. She wasn't going to allow any of that to come to pass. But all the same, she let out a small sigh.
"I know... I love you too, Bernael.", the Saiyan was finally able to confess. There was little reason to dance around concerning her emotions at this point. "I just worry, Cambia insisted on staying even though she could have been easily killed at any point. Seeing how close that entire battle became... I don't want everyone to be at risk like that again.", the Saiyan continued her explanation to the half demon. He deserved to know her feelings on the subject, why it was so hard for her to just accept that people wanted to be at her side.
"So it's as I said... If I can't convince you all to go to safety when danger comes, then the least I can do is make sure you're all prepared!", the Knight finally said with a smile. There was no sense getting down in the dumps, not on a day like this. Things were making a turning point! With each student that she would take under her wing and successfully train, it was another advantage that Earth and it's Protectors had. She briefly thought about the fact that Nasu must be doing the exact same thing.
There wasn't a doubt in her mind that he would master the style he started on, and then maybe even refine his control over the Super Saiyan form... Just like she had done. But there was one major difference between them now; she would still have the advantage in power. Or at least, she assumed that much. With all of that aside, Bernael seemed eager to get right into training! As he began to mimic the stance to the best of his ability. It was a decent enough start... But sloppy, he definitely needed a few tips to properly replicate it.
But that was fine. The Knight calmly exits her stance and walks over to him. "You're relying a lot on your instincts, but that doesn't work for Martial Arts. Here, let me show you how to properly use the stance.", with that, she would begin to mindfully use her hands to guide his body. His legs needed to be spread apart just enough to keep his balance and still allow a wide range of movement while also keeping himself rooted to the ground. As it was, he was spread too thin. It still allowed him to move fast, but...
The slightest impact would have sent him crashing to the ground. Next, was to slightly adjust his shoulders and torso. His sword wasn't a perfect fit for this, but she would be able to teach him well enough to the point where that wouldn't matter. Finally, the half demon asked whether or not this was something to be kept secret. It was calling upon the power of Excalibur, after all! The Saiyan calmly glances over to the woman in red. "Well, normally you would be right... All of my arts would be meant only for my Wielder, in any past era."
The Sacred Sword began to explain. "However, the times have begun to change. Atsuko can't be expected to handle all of these threats alone, and it's too much to expect you all to train yourselves. So I made a compromise; individuals that we trust can learn everything that she has learned to do.", Excalibur elaborated. Once that was done, Bernael then asked how many steps there would be. That was fair enough, the Albino Saiyan thought it over for a moment. "Well... Once you've mastered the basic fundamentals, there are three more steps to go through.", the Knight calmly stated to him.
"Right now, all of this would be for Beginners. The next step would be Intermediate, where you'll be learning the more complex nature of the style. Naturally, we'll refine your control over Invisible Air, too.", Atsuko elaborated, then pausing for a moment. "The third step would be the advanced stages of the style. This is where you would master the stance that I'm helping you with now, and where you would be able to use Invisible Air to it's fullest extent.", the Saiyan finished her explanation of those two steps. But the last one... Well, that was something special.
"The final step, is something different entirely. It's the Mark of a Master. You'll learn a technique that is unlike anything you have used or seen before. But we'll discuss that more once we get to that point!", with that, the Saiyan seemed to be satisfied with Bernael's stance now. "Alright... Now!", the Saiyan then takes a quick step back and enters her stance once more. "Show me what you can do! Try to keep your stance held, everything else... Well, that's hard to explain. But it should click in your mind once you've tried it out a little."
The Saiyan wished there was a better way to explain it, but... There honestly wasn't. Not until she could actually see Bernael's swordsmanship. But that was the entire purpose of this training! And he didn't have to worry about anyone seeing him potentially fumbling up or making mistakes. They had all the privacy they needed here, it would let them focus on everything they needed to do. Maybe she was overestimating him, maybe not... But Atsuko felt like he would be able to go through each step of the style right now, provided he was learning fast enough, of course!
There was no need to get it all done in just one sitting. But she could see it in his eyes, how determined he was. If he could hold onto that for the entire training session... Yes, it would be just like when she was training with Excalibur. The Albino Saiyan fully believed in the half demon's potential. All that remained was to just start off the actual training, no more words or explanations. It was time to learn by doing! That was the only way something this complex could actually be done, after all. Atsuko would wait patiently for the half demon to make the first move.
This would better allow her to observe his tactics.

The demonic human's face would flush a little bit, after all that time, the saiyaness saying it so bluntly just caught him a little bit off guard, enough so that he forgot the entire fact that he literally just blurt the entire thing out a moment ago to his hearts content. Well, that might have been his fault for the most part but for now, he just needed to move past it all. For the most part though, her words were right in what her compromise for all of this was. "Right, get everyone all nice and trained up... in that case, we'll be able to get through this all pretty well!" the boy would say as it would shift into gear for the next stuff to happen. For the most part he was about right considering that he needed to be talked to and fixed in pretty much every way. Well, at the very least he was getting help, which most of the time during training he had to do it all on his own and expect that it gotten better even though he was just fumbling about with a sword and his movements without any training or anything like that.
As he was shown the stance, he would just slowly nod and look, no, feel and experience how his body was, copy it through his mind and get it caught up enough that he could feel it in his memory, this was the way to be, how he should act and move in the middle of combat. Without any of that, he wouldn't be able to keep the sword stance up for much longer. However, it seemed that he was going to learn it down pat as long as he was given a little bit more time. Though she was right about one thing, he was relying a bit too much on his instincts for the time being, considering that he just looked at her form and tried to do it to the best of how he knew to feel. With the new positions he was in now however, it was obvious that it was a bit unnatural to his body, but it should be able to fit in all on its own once he got to use it a bit more. Thus he would relax into the stance to feel how it would be to stay in the stance outside of combat, without tensed and prepared muscles.
"Alright Excalibur, I wont go around giving this information to anybody then, I'd rather just bring them back to you two if I get to mastering it then, would prefer for you two to test their trust over me. But, aside from that, I am glad that you made a compromise Excalibur, I wont let you down... you either Atsuko!" he would say, pumping his fist a little bit to acknowledge more out loud that his determination to learn this style was going through the roof for the time being, and he wasn't going to let them see him fail for the time being. But not only that, he needed to believe in himself a lot more. He told himself that he wasn't even worthy of this training but he should change that mindset all the way around, if he was able to master this, well, he would need to go quite a long way and not turn around. Though, perhaps a long way doesn't have to be a long time per say. The boy was determined to do as much as he could, as fast as he could. Perhaps even going as far as mastering it in a single training session.
"Three steps... beginner, intermediate, advanced.... and then a mastery course? Got it! Sounds simple enough!" he would say, getting a determined grin across his face as he would have relaxed his body, he was getting pumped up now however, so his body would be coursing his energy through his body, prepared to take any punishment that it needed for this single moment. As Atsuko Atsuko was moving away, he would slowly get into the same stance she was in, memorizing it from visual and physical aids that were helping him out for the time being. The boy would slowly hold his sword how it was meant to be, his shoulders aligned the right way to be holding the sword, feet spread enough apart to be considered basic for the stance, in terms of what they were learning. At that moment he could feel it inside of him, he was able to control the basic martial arts stance that he was taught by Atsuko. Or he felt that he could, it wouldn't be able to come out until he finally made the attack.
"Alright Atsuko! I'll show you what I can do. I've got the stance now let me show you my swing." he would say before pushing off of his feet, from the stance where it was held, he would keep a generally the kept movement style that made sense for how he was holding his sword and how his feet were originally placed. All of it looked pretty good and he swung the sword to try and hit Atsuko, knowing full well that no matter what he did she would be able to counter it for nothing against herself. That much he very well knew, if she had mastered such a fighting style and was this powerful, his basic stance sword swing wasn't going to have anything against her. With that in mind, he didn't hold anything back, he just swung his sword as swiftly as he could so as to make it follow along with his movements, to be able to move like that. He didn't need power behind it, he felt like that much was true, so he used a swift swing, to allow the sword to be of its own entity as he swung. It was still a full powered swing in terms of what he launched, but the tactics used were more that of a swift fighter that wanted to make it a swift slice with a small sword more than a slam swing with a giant great sword. [Learning BG Martial Arts]
It was only a matter of how the master of the school was to judge him at this point, would he be able to make the final cut or would he be left in the dust? He had no way of knowing but the swing was already going through. Though, the outcome of it would be unknown to him until Atsuko did something in any way, whether it was a dodge or a counter or a block of some kind. In the end all that was left to do was get judged on his current form and way he used it all.
The half demon seemed to share her determination on getting through this training! Atsuko wanted to see how this was going to turn out for herself as well. It was one thing to master a style for herself, but to teach someone else? That was a little more difficult, and it would truly show whether or not she could be rightfully considered a Master of her Martial Arts Style. She felt confident in everything that she had learned, and Excalibur was quick to give her the title, but even so... This was a next logical step for the Knight to take.
A perfect way to prove herself. Bernael seemed to be getting it now, too! He wasn't as tense now, instead he was relaxing into it... That was good, the more naturally he could do this, the better. If he was too stressed about trying to pull it off perfectly, then he would be setting himself up for failure... That was a lesson that the Knight had learned more than a few times in her past. Finally he then said that he wouldn't go sharing the secrets carelessly, the Saiyan gives a calm nod. She knew that she could trust him with this.
"I know that you won't abuse this, Bernael. Thank you.", she responded. The woman in red then grinned once more. "This is the best way to go about things anyway, I'd like to be able to meet the people that are calling on my power. So I can judge whether or not they deserve my help! It'd be a real shame if someone who would abuse it learned how to call for my help.", the Sacred Sword commented, though she wasn't exactly accusing Bernael of being the type to make that bad of a call, either. Her tone of voice was just as relaxed as it always was.
That was a pretty good hint at the meaning of her words, more of an observation than anything. The half demon's next words proved to be both amusing, and at the same time rather relieving, she never liked seeing Bernael in those funks he tended to get into. So seeing him so confident was a wonderful change of pace, he had a very good base for being able to learn this style, too! So maybe there was truth to his words, and it would prove to be easy to learn.
Though even if the lessons were simple enough to grasp, it would still take time to go over everything. Hell, he may end up needing a break or two, pending on how intense the training became. Finally, he chimed in once more, now saying that he would show off one of his attacks. The Albino Saiyan gives a nod to him, and then closely observes his movements. Good... He was holding the stance well, and using it to his advantage in order to strike effectively, there was definitely a difference from when he was fighting before. Most importantly, however...
He wasn't wasting so much energy now. That was the true strength in Martial Arts; it allowed one to strike more effectively as well as conserve their energy and even build it back up. This was going to be key in all of their battles from this point on, especially if their enemies learned to take advantage of the same benefits. Nasu was the fastest to pull that off, but now the playing field was leveled. What was going to be the deciding factor would be the number of students and masters to take part in any future battles. In light of that...
Atsuko had to focus on the training taking place right now. His sword soared through the air, straight at her with the full power he could muster behind the blow. It was good! But, even so... The Albino Saiyan moved her blade to block it. She then smiled at the half demon. "Good! You've got a grasp of one of the fundamentals... Now we can move onto the techniques. The first one I'm going to teach you is Invisible Air.", after having said that, the Knight would then walk over to Excalibur. The woman in red gave a calm nod, and then conjured up a blade of her own.
A massive red greatsword, even larger than she was! And she held it with one hand, like it didn't weigh anything at all... The Albino Saiyan channels her energy into her sword, and it takes the energy takes the form of wind that envelops the blade. The Knight then surges forth, unleashing a flurry of slashes, the Sacred Sword deflects or blocks each one that was coming towards her, and then smirks as she looks over at Bernael. "Think you got all of that?", she inquired in a calm tone.
The Saiyan then turns towards the half demon once more, easing herself into stance yet again. "That's the earliest form of the technique. You have to channel your Ki in a very certain way, though I know that you're versed in sensing, just like I am... So that may clue you in on how to perform the technique! When you're ready, I want you to perform the technique on me!", the Knight explained. It probably sounded a little crazy to always put herself at the front of attacks like this... But there was a method to the seeming madness.
One of the techniques that Bernael was going to learn was focused around healing, obviously if someone was injured, that was a better way to learn it! Though even if the half demon couldn't lay a scratch on her... The Albino Saiyan knew of a few ways to get around that dilemma. Regardless, all the Saiyan had to do now was observe; Bernael would have to do the rest from this point on. She could instruct him if he was still having trouble, of course. But he was learning fast enough, there wasn't any need for her to do that just yet.
The Knight couldn't help but smile still... It really did bring back so many memories of training together. This was another one of those moments. So what was going to happen after? That piqued her curiosity.

Slowly, Bernael would ease himself out of the strike that he had given and recede back into a causal standing position, nodding slowly. "Thank you... I am glad that I was able to grasp at least that, though I am getting really into this, enough that moving into the techniques is a good step for now, I am prepared~" he would say, not exactly speaking in a cocky or smug tone, but more just trying to persevere with his determination to get through it all. He had only gotten through one step in the first place, he had a lot more to do anyways. Throughout his mind, thoughts were running rampant however. Was he even going to make it through the skills anyways, well, of course he was! He was going to knock every last one of them out of the park and then some, till he had all of them mastered and he had the mark of mastery that Atsuko had talked about as the final step. He was just constantly smirking to himself as he thought it over, it was very uncharacteristic of him to be this determined about something. Though, it involved Atsuko, progressing his skills up to keep at least a powerful notion on his own, so perhaps those were fine enough reasons for him to want to progress, which was why he was so okay with spending a year alongside the girl.
However, it was time for him to watch over a technique, something that Atsuko called Invisible Air, which made Bernael instinctively start trying to sense ki, as well as enter his second strongest form as his hidden potential surged forth, his body staying in its normal look and everything, just his power was spiking rapidly. Even though he wasn't that powerful in that form in terms of the other form he had and of course Atsuko's super saiyan form, it at least let him keep his sanity and mindset, with his white and calm ki aura spiraling around him as it sparked up, his eyes following around Atsuko's movements a bit considering he was stronger than the form being used by Atsuko for the time being. [Hidden Potential Pl: 675,930]
His ki sense alongside his power level allowed him to follow the movements pretty easily, as well as feel where ki was being used and how it was being moved around. It honesty, for the time being at least, it seemed like a pretty simple maneuver for him to copy for himself, though this was the beginners class of Invisible Air so he was entirely prepared for it to get harder and harder as time went on. Bernael would sort of look down towards his own blade, trying to imagine it for himself after seeing the flurry of slashes. Though he would fall out of Hidden Potential almost immediately Excalibur called to him asking if he thought he got all of it. "Well, I don't know how much I will be able to do with it, but I think I got all of it down to a pretty good point" he would respond. However, seeing Atsuko's stance would make him smirk very gently, as he would slowly move himself into the same stance, though of course it was the beginners version of said stance.
Slowly he would just nod to himself, staring down at the blade he was holding with a gently smile on his face, he felt like this was going to be his true test, even after the attack phase, this was actually ki structure and skills. Of course, that was going to be a lot harder to master than just swinging his blade with the stance. Thus, the boy took a few moments to listen over Atsuko's words. "I'll go over it a bit before I do it, Atsuko, though from what I sensed and could see for the most part, I should be able to pull it off in just a little bit!" the boy would say, slowly moving his sword and pushing his ki through himself and up into the sword itself, channeling until the swords energy would disperse. He wasn't failing at it per say, more like he was controlling how far it went till it dispersed as he wanted to go through the motions until he got a pretty good grasp on what to do.
In a short amount of time, the boys smirk would grow, as he would nod to himself slowly, which at this point he was able to make the energy into a little bit of air fluctuating around his sword as he would sit in the stance calmly. The sword was just as it normally was, but the energy flowing around it was there in the form of wind just like Atsuko had demonstrated. Bernael knew he had to attack Atsuko with it however, but he didn't want to transform to get the show on the road, he had to conserve his strength and his mindset for when he really needed it, and for now it was better used not trying to hurt the one he loved. But, the attack itself was meant to be full powered nonetheless, even if he didn't transform, he would use what was leftover of the attack to rush towards Atsuko, still keeping a calm paced in his movement and trying to keep some form of the stance as he moved in towards her, his sword lashing out and trying to make the same flurry of slashes that she had made earlier, albeit slower and weaker of course but not because of true faulty parts of the move, and more separation of power that made him slower and weaker when attacking. [Learning OT-1 Invisible Air]
"Well then Atsuko..." he would say as he moved back a tad bit, trying to put a small bit of distance after the flurry of strikes, not knowing if he did anything with it at all, or if it was even good at all. Once more he needed to get some sort of judging from the master to get a gauge on how he did. "How did I do?" he would gently question as he receded back into a casual standing position.
Bernael had thanked her for the praise, and was very eager to get right into training for techniques! That was good. The Albino Saiyan wanted to see if her method of teaching was actually working well enough. The basic fundamentals were easily grasped, but it would just get more complicated from here on out. Invisible Air was... Something that was difficult for her to describe, but the half demon didn't lose determination despite that. Although Atsuko hadn't expected him to give up with so little, either. She had been training with him long enough to know that he had a lot more to give.
The question really was whether or not just how far he would go in just one session. They certainly had enough time to go through each lesson, provided he was learning fast enough. The half demon was paying very close attention as Invisible Air was demonstrated, it was something that she could notice even as she was in the middle of performing the technique with Excalibur, his power had risen in order to better sense the finer details behind the art. It seems she didn't even need to tell him that Ki Sense would be useful in telling how to use it!
Finally, the half demon powered down and responded to Excalibur's comment. "Oh? Well we'll be practicing until you have it down! At the very least, you're going to walk out of here knowing all of the basics!", the Sacred Sword would respond, though her tone of voice was still kind. It was much like with Atsuko; she expected him to go a lot farther than that. But there was no need to place all that pressure on him, either. It needed to be lax enough of an environment that he could properly focus, but serious enough that he wouldn't slack off.
Atsuko felt like it was striking the right balance so far, she closely observed Bernael as he entered stance once more. He seemed to have it down pretty naturally now... That was great! The Albino Saiyan worried a little bit that perhaps she was starting things off too complex, as she had an entire lifetime to use the sword. Being able to improve on it from that point wasn't really that difficult, especially with Excalibur's help on the subject. But not everyone was trained from a young age to be a swordsman. Despite all that...
Here he was, holding the same stance and determination that she did not so long ago. He'd definitely go far at this rate. "Well, I look forward to seeing what you can do!", Atsuko responded. At the moment he was getting a feel for how to channel the energy into his blade. That was a good start to things, she would wait patiently for him as he went through the motions, finally the point came where he felt confident enough to try out the full technique for the first time. He managed to unleash the same slashes and movements that she had done.
They were slower, weaker. But that wasn't due to lack of skill or understanding. That was a difference in power, the Albino Saiyan moved her blade to block each incoming slash, or otherwise shift it off course. Even despite the fact that she was a little tired from demonstrating the technique, it wasn't that difficult for her to pull off the defense. Bernael would back off a bit, and then ask the Saiyan how he had done with the technique. The Knight smiled, giving a nod to him. "You did very well!", the Saiyan replied to him.
"So that means you've learned how to hold your stance, and you've made your first step in channeling Excalibur's power into your sword. There are two more techniques to learn, and then you will have mastered what I deem to be the Beginner's portion of the style.", the Knight would then continue her explanation. "We'll be going over Mana Burst next. I've told you a little bit about it, how you build up energy and then instantly expel it in order to increase performance... Think of it as recreating the effect of a jet burst.", Atsuko would then say to him.
The Albino Saiyan would then turn to Excalibur once more. The woman in red gave a calm nod, and then she would move far back. The reasoning behind this probably unclear to Bernael for the moment... But Atsuko would soon begin to flare up her energy, her light blue aura hadn't been seen in quite awhile, but she was conducting this training in her base form. Transformations were powerful, but they hindered one's training. Within the next instant, she would begin to expel her energy as she began to step towards Excalibur. It was an excellent usage of the energy.
As it let her close the distance and carry through on the momentum with a slash that was much more powerful; although Excalibur was able to block it all the same. The demonstration likely gave the half demon everything he needed to know about it. The Saiyan would once more calmly turn to him, and then ready stance. "Alright! Once you're ready, I want you to use Mana Burst and attempt to strike me, just like before!", the Saiyan would say loud enough for the half demon to be able to hear her, despite the distance. She wasn't giving herself much of an opportunity to rest.
But even if she ended up taking a little damage, that was okay. After all... The next technique on the list was going to focus on healing! At least one of them needed to be injured in order to properly practice that, but even if she didn't take any damage from the attack, that would be alright. There were ways to get around such issues. But for the moment, she set that aside. Atsuko wanted to see if Bernael could keep his stride and continue mastering the style as fast as he had been doing so far.
If he could get through the entire Beginner's portion without much issue... Well, then it was almost a certainty that he would get through the entire style within the day.

Slowly, Bernael would chuckle as he rubbed the back of his head, feeling a bit sheepish at the thought of him doing well, and being expected to be able to complete the beginner course. Well, he wanted to do as much as his body was capable of for that day, and then maybe go on to do a bit more training, or talking if he was allowed to. Though he didn't exactly require such things for the time being, he just wanted to train with this girl and prove himself, even if he didn't need to prove himself to her, well, he felt some sort of requirement in his heart to try and do so. Thus, he would slowly remain in his casual stance, still his face a bit sheepish as the girl had complimented him, just nodding. "Thank you for the compliment... Atsuko" he would say, looking a bit away not trying to really make eye contact for the time being as it would show even more how his mind was acting. However it would slowly start breaking as the girl decided to talk to him once more, the boy facing her a bit more to watch once more for her demonstrations that he needed to follow.
"Well, even if I do master the beginners portion, I look forward to the rest of the steps as well!" he would say, keeping that same determined physical and mental structure that he needed to get through such martial arts training, especially with how it was going, he had only gotten half of the beginners portion done, and after that he needed to go into the intermediate, advanced, and mastery categories, It was a lot to take in but as long as he kept this determined mood in mind, he would be able to get through it like anything else they had persevered through in the past. Though his stamina had started to dwindle at that point from a single blast, there was only so much that the boy could do before he would pass over tired or need to rest if only to replenish and charge in his own ki. But that wasn't meant to be the point of all of this anyways, so he would just look on with his arms crossed in a way that showed casual but steady watching, he was ready to take in the next move. "Well then, Mana Burst did sound simple enough... can't wait to get a handle on it as well!" he would say, holding his fist in a proudly ready way, one that showed he wanted to get the skill down pat as soon as possible to continue on with his current training with the saiyaness.
Thus, he would recede into silence as Atsuko went on to demonstrate the power once more, it looked honestly beautiful, her light blue aura always made him quite happy as he looked upon it, even if it was being replaced by that of the golden super saiyan as of late. In their own ways of course, both of them had their personal beauty, though he had to admit to himself that it was the user that made it all that way, not the colors themselves. Not to say that the colors of their own respect aren't very nice to look at, it was just an added bonus on top of the girl that his eyes were set upon for the time being with a smirk on his face. His body would get into position however, as his eyes didn't really need speed or anything like that to watch a move that she was using this time, though his ki sense would still pick up in a way to get an understanding of it all. Ki sense was pretty vital for learning any move that he would get from another by viewing them, especially considering how their ki flow could be separated off from a pattern that his own would have. His stance would just be held, as he watched on with careful and prepared eyes, his body preparing itself to launch his own assault at a moments notice.
Finally, as Atsuko was back in her own stance, he would nod to her. "I need but a moment, to understand it a little more for myself. I'll do my best though!" he would shout out to her, before flaring his ki aura all the way up as he could. His ki aura was a very rare thing, he never really used his base form in fighting, and never really flourished a ki aura. The only things seen before by him were the purplish ki aura of his demons heart, and then the white with purple streaks aura that came out of his hidden potential. Finally there was of course the dark red aura that would pierce out of him in his Full Fledged Demon form, but he would rather not think too much on that. Those were all beside the point however, as he would slowly have his brighter red aura flare. It wasn't like that of his full fledged demon form, which was a darker more pungent crimson, this was a bright red, like that of his actual hair as long as it was in opened air and not in the darkness of a corridor or something like that.
Then, his aura would flicker a bit, twitching around as he tried to use it, wanting to expel it just like she had done. However, for a little while it just kept flickering and wavering, not exactly being able to form itself in a way like she had been able to do. However, he denied faltering that much, he needed to continue on and continue his training, not a second would he let this all end here. With that, his determined mind would be set back on track, and his aura would expel forth in a large effect, it was burning in a blaze of what could be considered fire, even though it was just ki energy moving around as so. "Here I go, once more Atsuko! I wont let you down!" he would say as he pushed of, taking his steps towards Atsuko, moving in and trying to put forth a much more powerful slash than usual, swinging through the entire attack with intent to hit its mark as he knew this wasn't going to be anything bad for the most part, just a skill being put to a test. [Learning OT-1 Mana Burst]
The half demon had thanked her for the compliment that she gave him earlier, she just gave a calm nod in response. He was putting everything he had into learning this style, it was deserving of respect. After all, she was doing just the same! Although she did have to say... He was handling it much more gracefully than she had done. Excalibur broke down her pride and forced her to adapt and learn, but at the end of it they were able to stand as equals. Bernael didn't need a process like that, he just needed to learn. He needed confidence in himself.
He had been so worked up lately that he was afraid to use even a little bit of his power, and it showed. She couldn't blame him for it, though. In fact, the Albino Saiyan understood his fears all too well... The first time she went into Super Saiyan, that rage was terrible. But it must have been even worse for Bernael to deal with. She understood that he had... Less than stellar experiences with Demons, given the history of the sword he was wielding. The story that he shared with her was still fresh in her mind, too.
A woman that he developed such strong feelings for had died, and that shed some light on why he refused to just leave Atsuko behind to anything like that battle on the Lookout. She couldn't blame him for any of this, but all the same she spent so much of her time trying to figure out the best course to help him out. This had the unintended effect of being exactly what he needed, something that would restore his confidence in himself. With that he would be able to overcome his inner demon and maybe even call upon that power again.
But it would be different then. Just like how she learned to refine her Super Saiyan form. The half demon still had interest in going to each of the steps, and the rate that he was progressing was amazing... In such a short amount of time, he had almost mastered the Beginner's portion of the Style. Mana Burst was a remarkably simple technique, although it could prove difficult to control. Much like when she had demonstrated Invisible Air before, Bernael was trying to get a good handle on the technique before actually using it, Atsuko waited patiently as she watched.
From here, it was a little difficult to observe the details clearly... But she wasn't worried, their first meeting recounted in her mind, back then he didn't even know how to control his Ki. How far he had come since then... If he could manage so much of that, by being mostly self taught? This was probably making it too easy for him. But then again, it was just the basic fundamentals of Martial Arts. The real test would be to see how he adapts to the intermediate and advanced steps, and of course the Mark of Mastery.
Finally, Bernael began to surge forth. It was remarkably similar to how she had demonstrated it, a powerful slash was heading her way, but the Albino Saiyan raised her blade to block the attack as she had done a few times before. The Knight smiled at him. "Alright... Now you've learned how to use Mana Burst. There's only one more step for Beginners.", the Saiyan would explain as she began to ease out of stance. "You recall what I said about Avalon, yes? It's a healing technique. So we won't need to be in battle stance for this."
Atsuko would elaborate. "In fact, the more we can concentrate... I would wager the more effective the technique would be. However, neither of us are exactly injured. So...", the Knight would begin to remove one of her gauntlets, and then roll up the sleeve of her robes. After doing so, she moved her blade and carefully made a cut on her arm. It wasn't anything serious, it wasn't even that deep. But for the purposes of training this technique, it would work perfectly. The Saiyan then made a gesture for him to sit down, as she did the same. She then set Avalon aside for the moment.
The real use for this style was that the person using it didn't need to have Excalibur or Avalon. They could still call upon it's powers. She wanted to test out just how well that would work for Bernael. "For Avalon, you'll need to utter a small prayer. Bidding it to help you and your allies. Just be aware that even though Avalon is doing the majority of the work, it will still take some of your energy to use. So it must be used wisely...", the Albino Saiyan instructed Bernael on the technique.
Atsuko would then smile lightly. "If you've never done meditation before, this is a pretty good time to learn. Close your eyes, slow down your breathing. You'll need to be calm.", she continued on. Her voice now becoming softer to allow him to concentrate. "You may feel a few sensations. Things becoming clearer, your energies feeling like they're coming back into the right place... It's different for everyone, really. But when you're ready, you'll know it. At that point, utter the prayer to Avalon, and you should be able to heal this wound.", the Saiyan finished her explanation, now was the time to see if he could do it.
This might have been one of the trickier aspects for... Anyone to pull off, actually. But Martial Arts was about patience, it couldn't be rushed. If someone really wanted to become a master, it took more than just raw power, or good instinct. They needed a strong mind as well, this effectively doubled as a trial on that front. But those that did learn how to use Avalon would be able to keep everyone they cared about safe, just so long as they were careful about it's downsides; the drain on the user's energy was very real.
And the more it was used, the more someone could be left wide open to attack. It was potent, but needed to be used wisely.

Slowly, the demon boy would stagger, his energy wasn't exactly at its peek, he was almost entirely drained for the time being, so he needed to give himself a little bit of a breather if he was going to do anything else, though the break would likely be a short lived one, one that he could just spend time talking to Atsuko in, like the good old days that he could remember clearly and then would desire to come back at times, since it had been a while since the two of them were alone and had a chance for a really good talk, in fact if he recalled correctly, the last 'alone time' they got was when Excalibur had awoken, and a lot had happened since then, so much so that he couldn't believe that the time wasn't exactly large in terms of how long they spent together in the time chamber.
However it seemed time to slightly move on into the next skill to learn, but since it didn't need the stance at all this time, he would slowly go back into casually standing position as he would nod. "So, we just need something to heal with it right? I guess that shouldn't be too hard, I am sort of a weak punching bag as I am right now any-" was all he got out before he would hear her next words, as well as see her actions. "...Ah, so if we concentrate a lot we should be able to heal much bigger wounds....... but, d-did you have to cut yourself? I know we needed someone that could be healed from an injured state, but I don't want you to hurt yourself... I could have done it..." the boy would say, slowly shaking his head. "Nevermind, I am just being weird because I don't like to see you hurt yourself, even if it is very slight, I just don't like you being hurt you know?" he would say, slowly nodding as he would walk towards and sit near her, facing towards her as he was ready to begin his next training for the time being.
He would slowly look around, trying to think of how he would be able to do all of this as she explained it. He honestly felt like this was going to be his weak suit, something that would be impossible for him to get past, though that wasn't the right mindset to be in, so he would just slowly nod. "So I have to do a prayer and ask for the sheath to help me and my allies, and just lend it my energy to help heal my friends? That sounds quite nice in fact, I don't mind if it must be used wisely though, I will use strategy and find openings to do this" he would say, nodding firmly as he thought about how the skill should be used in the midst of combat, it honestly sounded a little hard at first, though the demon boy wouldn't mind, as long as he was able to train through it for a little bit. Though she was right about one thing as her smile would make him feel a little infatuated, always enjoying seeing a smile on her face. He had never once meditated in his life, he honestly felt like maybe it would hurt him, holy stuff burned him in the past and he didn't really know of the praying words power in light of what it would do to him.
"Well, I indeed haven't meditated yet... though, thank you for teaching me!" he would say quite excitedly before entirely calming down. This was the time for a different kind of determination, where as the other time was filled with desire and excited feelings, this was a calm and silent determination, showing perseverance and patience in his conscience. Slowly, his eyes would shut, but not in a forced and struggled way, in a calm and serene way that would show that he was relaxed, almost like someone would close their eyes to go to bed after a long day when they were tired and could easily pass out. His breathing wasn't very slow like he was accidentally holding it or anything, but his breathing wasn't fast or prepared like he was when he was excited. It almost appeared as if he could be asleep if someone looked upon him, though of course he wasn't truly sleeping, he was just in this relaxed state where the only thing he could feel was the relaxing tone that Atsuko was speaking to him in, something that made him feel purpose, just her voice brought him calm feelings and made him happy, but the soft way she presented herself in this time made him feel almost perfect, though of course he needed to also pay attention to her words.
However, with what she was giving him, his mind was sort of confused at a time. Was the prayer his own to make up as he saw fit, and just hoping that he could make it well enough to fit the quota. Well, there was no use just sitting around and waiting for a failure or something like that, he needed to try. But before he could, he felt little pricks around in his body, and before long he felt like his entire body was on fire and burning from the inside out, like it was going to kill him if he kept doing this, his demonic energies clashing with the meditation process as an inner war would be raging on. But he would persevere, even with the pain not showing up on his face, he kept a calm demeanor as everything would tear him up from the inside out. But that feeling, he believed that was what it meant to be ready, it was a better time than any to attempt to use Avalon and heal Atsuko. He felt like what he was thinking of was pretty cheesy, but he was going to give it the best shot he could. In a very gentle and soft tone, he would start to utter his words of prayer to the sheath.
"Avalon, I plead for you to hear my words and lend me your powers. I offer my very energy as the fuel to your strength. I ask of you to help me, help me cure Atsuko of the wound that resides in her arm. I understand your powers must be used wisely, but I ask you to do the request asked of you, please heal Atsuko" was all he would say out to the sheath, as his inner forces would stay at work, burning him deeply inside as he struggled to stay in the prayer position until all was done. He was unsure of if he had even done it correctly, but that would remain to be seen for the aftermath. [Attempting to Learn ST-1 Avalon]
The Albino Saiyan continued to smile at the fact that he was so worried about her. "It's alright, Bernael... I've had much worse. Besides, I wouldn't feel right hurting you, or letting you hurt yourself.", the Knight would offer her words of comfort to the half demon. But it was true, this small cut on her arm was nothing. She had her entire body crushed, bones broken... Atsuko allowed herself to directly take a massive blast, and after all that she had cheated death with a Senzu Bean. But it wasn't all as pleasant as one could have hoped, it hurt like hell.
Several months worth of healing, at the very least, all happened within an instant. Her entire body was filled with so much pain that her nerves had gone numb, of course she recovered from that too... But that pain would stick with her, as well as the power she gained from it. If there was ever a scenario where she needed more power... Atsuko could cheat death like that again, but she wanted to avoid that situation. Once was enough, in her honest opinion, and she didn't want to make a habit out of almost dying, if not for her own sake...
Then for her friends. They had enough of a heart attack back then... Bernael especially. The half demon then commented about her explanation of Avalon and it's power, and seemed to feel like he would be able to use it correctly. She trusted his judgement, even if he had a tendency to not listen in times of peril... Atsuko really didn't like seeing him always put himself in danger, especially over herself. But she couldn't focus on that for now. The half demon then admitted that he had never meditated before. "I thought that might have been the case."
The Saiyan replied. "But it's not that hard, and the more you do it... Well, the more it becomes a nice habit, really.", the Albino Saiyan added. She was probably more than a little biased about it, she had an entire childhood and lifetime to become accustomed to a life like this. But Atsuko did truly believe that meditation would benefit anyone that wished to become a Martial Artist, it would offer them moments of clarity that they may not otherwise achieve. Maybe it would turn out to be a solace for Bernael as well, who was struggling with his demons...
Finally, the half demon began to listen to her instructions and started meditating. In her honest opinion; he was a natural at it. Some could never see the point in it, or always lost patience... A thought that brought a small smile to her face, Atsuko was just like that back when she was a child. It all seemed like a big waste of time, to just stand or sit there forever, moving as little as possible and trying to 'clear your mind'. But now it offered her everything that she needed, especially in times like this.
But her musings ended when she noticed something, underneath his calm exterior... Something was bothering him, the Saiyan couldn't quite put her finger on it. Unless, maybe his Demonic blood? But he was only part Demon... The meditation alone shouldn't have been affecting him either. Perhaps it was trying to form a connection with Avalon in order to use it's power? It struck her as odd, but she didn't comment on it. He needed to focus, and she was going to let him do just that. Bernael was putting up an excellent front either way, if she tried to say anything about it...
He probably would have denied it being the case. Finally the half demon began to utter his soft prayer to Avalon, it became rather clear to her that perhaps she would need to make something for others to recite. Otherwise perhaps the task would be too different for most to overcome, but in any case... Bernael managed to do it; a 'second Avalon' had appeared in front of Bernael and softly glowed with a golden energy, which then traveled towards Atsuko's injury and began to heal it. The wound began to close, and even the blood had been washed away.
"You did it, Bernael. With that... You've mastered the Beginner's portion of the Style.", the fact that he was worn down now didn't go unnoticed by her. She was used to this because of all of her training, but her students didn't have the same luxury, and she would need to keep that in mind when training them. "Well, we can keep training if you like. But it looks like you might need a moment to rest first.", the Saiyan commented as she began to let her sleeve back down, and put her gauntlet back on.
"I'm really impressed with all the progress you're making. You're learning just as fast as I did, but that shouldn't surprise me, either! I remember when we first met... You didn't know how to control Ki back then, but Tau and I helped you. We separated after that, but I know everything you learned after that was self taught.", the Saiyan would start up a conversation, something a little more casual, but still relevant to everything that was happening. "It took most of us years to learn how to do all that, even back at the Temple I was raised in."
The Saiyan added. "So, how do you feel? I know this is much more difficult than any other training you've done before. Think you can feel any differences, though?", the Albino Saiyan would inquire, before falling silent to then listen to what Bernael would have to say. Even though they weren't done training in the Martial Arts Style yet, it was nice to have a moment to relax. The half demon must have been thankful for it, it seemed like he was at his limit there... It was easy for her to forget the difference between herself and everyone else.
It wasn't always like that, there was a point where she was far behind everyone else. Somehow, that reversed. Atsuko wasn't sure when that had happened, but it did.

Slowly, Bernael would open his eyes and start panting a little bit, well, he couldn't keep up the facade for much longer that he wasn't feeling something inside of him. However one would be correct that it wasn't ENTIRELY his demonic blood pushing that sort of feeling out of him, his blood was settling quite nicely inside of him as the meditation was going on. However, his inner demons themselves, his dark passenger that had taught him how to unlock his fully fledged demon form, he was riding a mental high inside of Bernael, tearing him up and throwing a tantrum. Which from the outside it would look like mental stress, but in Bernael's own little blank world...
"What the HELL are you doing, you stupid kid?!" the figure would yell at Bernael as he came out of the meditation. "What do you mean?" the boy would rebuttal in question, confused by the implications of the situation. "You're meditating?! Praying?! With a holy knight, trying to learn her little holy knight skills?!" the figure would question even further, being physically upset. "Yeah... I don't understand whats the problem?" the boy responded, still wondering why this conversation was meaning to be a thing. "I thought I told you better, you were to take my power and try to go rogue... sure you could hang out with your friends and such, but you were meant to be aside from them, trying to kill anybody that dares appose them, now you are doing little prayers and being a good boy?!" the figure continued to rant on to Bernael, grilling him pretty hard. "...I don't care about any of that, that was back then, I needed the power during that fight and you damn well know it." he would say back to the figuring, slowly wincing at the thought of agreeing to that back then. "Fine, but you'll need that power again, and you know you will. And once you need that power, I'll be there... we are two halves of your deranged little head, I'm the one that understands the means to be a demon, I am your demon side, your DOMINANT side..." the figure continued on, musing on the fact a bit more. "You're just the little human side... hiding on the outside and trying to be a normal boy, the goooood boy. Acting like you don't need to be apart of any of this! Well welcome to the real world jackass, just because you're in control, doesn't mean you're dominant. You're a recessive gene, a useless piece of garbage. I wanted to help you, and I still will, but only out of survival. But your thick skull really needs to get it hammered in that I am meant to be... you aren't. One day, my side will take over and stamp you out, as you get stronger alongside your friends you'll drift farther apart, nothing will be good for you anymore, oh I can't wait for that day" the figure would just end off his rant, chuckling a little bit before sort of fading away.
But before anything else would happen, Bernael's mind process would resume on the outside, hearing Atsuko speak and just smiling over at her with a caring look that made it seem like he was entirely alright although he was still tired out from the prayer and lack of energy. "Oh yes, I am glad that I could... do... that" he would say, slowly seeing that her wound was gone and gently smiling to himself. Aside from all of that he was going through, he still succeeded in his task. "I would like to keep training! However yes, I do require a bit of rest, if you would so allow me!" the boy would say, showing back up that determined and excited attitude from before as he rubbed the back of his head, fully acknowledging his need to rest for a bit to regain his energy. Though he would fall back into a sheepish sort of look from before when she complimented him yet again.
"Well... I am sort of impressed with myself too... I-I suppose. I really am determined to learn your style to the best of my abilities though! As soon as I am able to get back up and practice, that is! Haha" he would muse on the fact that he was entirely tuckered out, if he raised to his feet and tried to use more of those skills, they would just fizzle out on him and force him to stop training anyways. Though once her next words went to his ears, he would just slowly think about it. "Well, I had experiences... stuff that I wouldn't be able to just replicate...... stuff I might not want to replicate" he would say, smirking and thinking of his past up to this point after he left his home.
"I was... a mothers boy. Sure I may have wanted to fight but.. I was just a kid training on tree's who thought 'hey, maybe I can be the hero, and I can learn about myself a bit more'... but, I've learned there is more to it than just being the hero, its more about being a good person who stands by their friends, who doesn't gain strength on their own. Being all alone in a world like this.. it sort of sucks you know? The good times have come when I was with other people... like..." he would slowly look down to his sword, as it would bring up past memories. He would wince at the thought, of the person he lost... it had been so long, he had lost names of people that he only knew for a couple of days before losing or never seeing again, and after his long training, all of that stuff had blown into the wind like lost faces to kept memories. "..Well its best not to go into it... but through this time, I've come to feel like, being all alone would tear me apart and I would be lost in mere seconds... and probably wouldn't survive either. Its because of the people I meet... the people I care about and..." he would slowly cast his glance over her from his sword "...love... but, they are all the ones that help me through this, without them I would be nothing, you know? Its not about being the lone hero who everyone has to depend on... its about being the hero who can stand up among close other heroes, and become a truly fierce force altogether. At least, that is how I have learned and felt myself grow over this time. Its why I was able to teach myself a little bit, the time I was away from others, it was always boring and made me reflect..." and then his little rant was done, as he would look down and wonder about the other thing she had said.
"I feel... although tired cause of all these skills I am using, I feel pretty damn impressive... I feel, strong... it may not be by a whole lot stronger, yet, but this training is sure kicking my butt in, I am sure that by the end of this I can leave truly feeling the power flowing through me, you know?~" he would say, holding up his fist like it was some sort of legendary weapon, though he was just playing around at this point. "But yeah, this training... its going nicely, I am really enjoying the time spent with you and time training, I feel like I can progress a lot from this~"
