There was Ayami, standing on the lookout with stars in her eyes, she had been told by Atsuko about martial arts training... ... Atsuko was likely still sore from the ensuing hug and lengthy talk from the water girl, it could never be said that Ayami wasn't enthusiastic, and it showed, she gladly wore Atsuko's old heavy weights, even as they visibly held her closer to the ground, she didn't seem to mind much. ... Even if it did hurt a little. "This lookout place...It's amazing! You live here? I can see my village!"
She threw a few playful punches at the air, grinning brightly. "So! What's first? Some super-duper hyper death beam? A giga drill kick? ULTIMATE OMNI-SLASH?!" ... All technique names Ayami apparently imagined, as they weren't techniques likely to be taught by Atsuko. She hopped back and forth like a child on a sugar rush, she...Didn't have a lot of self control, though maybe it was amusing, or charming to some. Regardless, this was a girl that would likely be up to any challenge posed by the Kami. ... Though with those weights, and her current power, it was questionable how many challenges she would actually succeed in.
"While we're training...Maybe you could tell me a little bit about what life up here is like? Does anyone else stay here? It looks big enough! Do you ever get lonely? I probably would. ... I usually do." So many questions from the eager elemi, it was pretty normal behavior for her, though. She always had a strong curiosity about life and her world. Maybe it was just who she was to ask questions and to learn from the answers, but regardless, it was a big world to her, unlike the Kami, she had yet to see everything the world offered.
"I'll train as hard as you need, c'mon! Do you need me to do some kind of chore to learn some critical technique? I'll shine your boots! Hyah!" He eagerness was more evident the longer she waited. ... Even if it was a little silly, it would likely prove amusing to the saiyan woman. She seemed good at amusing her new found friends. She felt close to them, too...Maybe it was because of how they treated her, how they opened her up to the world, she couldn't see herself parting with them any time soon.
"Maybe...When I'm stronger...I can help you with your job. I'd love that, you know! Getting to do something impirtant, making a difference, all of that. The world probably has a lot of heroes, but they could always use one more, right...?" Interesting wisdom from the somewhat childish elemi as she spoke, maybe she had a lot of potential, but to her, she didn't entirely know, she was forward sighted, not really thinking of the what-if, but the what-now. She didn't like thinking of what-ifs. There were a lot of them, most of them were negative. She wouldn't readily stand for thoughts like that.
Ayami certainly had a lot of determination. She was wearing the Heavy Weights that Atsuko had once used, which was rather impressive, really. She knew firsthand just how heavy those were, and here was the Water Elemi, using them right away without any prior preparation or training! It couldn't have been easy... But if she could keep wearing these, it would incredibly improve the effects of her training. That was something that Atsuko could attest to herself; that was entirely why she was so powerful. That and the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. There was also that strange thing that had happened when she almost died...
For whatever reason, her body didn't just get restored to it's original power. It had gotten built back up better. That was the single largest jump in strength that the Albino Saiyan had ever experienced, if she had to guess it was related to being a Saiyan. The blue haired girl's first comment was about living here on the Lookout, as well as how amazing it and the view was. "Yes. This is where I spend most of my time! From here, I'm able to watch over all of Earth.", she briefly explained, then watching as Ayami threw a few punches into the air.
Even weighed down as she was, she was still energetic and eager to get her training in... That was good! Ayami would progress fast, that was something that the Knight was certain of. "Haha... No, nothing named quite like that. Martial Arts is much more practical, I suppose you could say. It's less about the techniques, and more about how you fight. You'll be learning how to use as a sword, as well as your own body to your advantage.", the Saiyan explained as she watched the Water Elemi bounce back and forth with ease.
All the while, continuing to send off her questions at the Guardian of Earth! Atsuko couldn't help but smile as she lightly shook her head. "What life up here is like, huh? There are a few that stay here and visit... I suppose it could be rather lonely at times, but it's also the perfect place to be able to relax and collect your thoughts. I've been able to meditate here better than I have anywhere else.", the Saiyan responded. It seems that she had finished just in time to hear Ayami wanting to get right into training!
"No, no... There's no chore. Don't worry, I'll show you exactly what we need to do to begin your training. You remember Excalibur, right? She's going to be helping us today. Just like she did when she helped me with my training.", the Saiyan gave her response, and then the blue haired girl expressed interest in being able to help the Albino Saiyan with her job. Well, there wasn't anything wrong with that! But she did need to become stronger first... Otherwise that was needlessly putting herself at risk. "Well, then getting your training here is the first step towards that!"
The Knight explained, and then the sword at her side began to glow, once more it was taking human form. "Without further ado... I shall now show you our training field!", as the woman in red finished that, reality began to shift around them. They were no longer standing on the Lookout, but instead inside of a large, extravagantly decorated location. "This is my Reality Marble! It can be shifted to our wills, entirely destroyed and then reform instantly! Any training that we need to do, we can safely do it here! You'll get more benefits for doing it here, too."
The Sacred Sword wore a confident grin. "I never get tired of explaining that.", Excalibur stated. Atsuko couldn't help but smile in response. "I've noticed.", the Saiyan then turns her gaze to Ayami. "Well, this would normally be the point where I would ask someone if they really wanted to receive my training and be named a member of the Knights of the Round... But I have a feeling I don't really need to ask you that, your mind's all made up!", the Saiyan admitted. It really was something to be respected, Atsuko hadn't met anyone that eager...
It reminded the Albino Saiyan a lot of herself. "This training will prove to be rough on you... But if you stick to it, you'll not only learn techniques that will help you along, you'll be able to fight with newfound skill. Even more than that, if you can stick to using those Heavy Weights... Your progress is going to be exponentially increased! I have a feeling you're going to be a very fast learner. So I'm going to start by explaining the principles that this style uses.", the Knight began, then clearing her throat before thinking over the right words.
"This style is based upon the use of one's body, physical strength, and skill. You will learn to use your weapon to your advantage, but the most notable aspect of this style... You will learn to channel Excalibur's power, just like I have. Today you will be learning how to stand, move, and attack with the basic fundamentals. On top of this, you will also be learning three techniques. The first is Invisible Air; this is a technique that improves as you do. The more you grow in the style, the more refined Invisible Air can become.", the Albino Saiyan continued her explanation.
"You will also learn Mana Burst, this will let you infuse your energy into your weapon and your body, and then instantly expelling it to increase your performance... Finally, you will also learn how to call upon Avalon. Excalibur's Sheath, this will let you heal yourself or others. Both of these are a little unique... They can be improved as much as you like, regardless of your skill within the style. So you may want to keep that in mind.", the Knight then finished her explanation. "With all of that out of the way, let's get started!"
The Knight then drew her sword, and proceeded to take stance with it. "Like I said, the first lesson is about stance... Try to mimic mine, and I'll instruct you further.", the Saiyan explained. Atsuko's stance was simple enough, a two-handed stance with her sword, the blade held off to the side. This allowed her a wide range of motion, as well as to keep her sword within bearing. But it also let her take her opponents off guard. Ayami would be learning how to do all of this too... Although, it would take her a little bit to reach the same level.
The nice thing about this was, they had all the time in the world to be able to perfect it. One step at a time!
The elemi took in all of the kami's words carefully, her curiosity being sated, she listened closely like someone would if they deeply respected them. And of course, that was indeed the case. Ayami respected the saiyan woman, it wasn't exactly hidden, either. She never had anyone to respect before, no figure of appreciation. She had someone she could look up to now, that was Atsuko. Ayami held her fist up, grinning. "I'm gonna be strong enough to protect you one day. Just you wait and see!" Protecting someone...It wasn't something she ever had to do, nor even consider, but...
She knew what she said then and there. She seemed to mean it, even if it was almost child-like. But she scratches her head a bit, taking out her sword. "Martial arts with my sword? Most of those people use their hands. I gotta see how this works!" She saw Excalibur appear, recognizing her from before, and then this strange world...This "reality marble" materialized around them. Ayami couldn't believe what she was seeing, the whole world had changed in an instant, this place felt strange, but not dangerous. It was quite incredible for someone like her. She didn't entirely know what to think, to be honest.
She wandered around the kami for a moment, taking it all in. But then she soon stopped, her attention coming back to Atsuko, right as she began telling her of all these abilities she would learn, it all sounded impressive, but one thing at a time, she was instructed to mimic a stance...And so she did! To the best of her ability, anyway. The weights were so heavy, they shifted her even in her stillest moments, the preassure making her stance far more sloppy than the example. But that was to be expected, she wasn't yet strong enough to bear those weights fully yet.
"L....Like this?" Though it was still to be commended, she was trying her hardest to fight the weights, it was very clearly visible how much she pushed against them, her stance straightening somewhat as she kept trying, not letting up for even a moment. She had to do it, after all, if she was gonna put proof to her words, she had to fight it. Nobody could protect someone that strong if they weren't equally strong. Besides, she wanted to earn Atsuko's respect, she felt like she'd break every bone in her body to prove it. She almost wondered if she would with all of that weight.
She gnarled and strained, her teeth gritting at she fought harder and harder to get her stance right, it was starting to come into place, it was slowly but surely getting closer to the example stance. Maybe it wouldn't have been hard for others, but for her, it felt like the world was on top of her. She had a lot on the line here, respect included. "Ghh...Nnnghh..." She may not have been far off from that respect given how she actually managed to get closer to Atsuko's stance...
"A...Al...Most...!" She pressed harder and harder, sweating, until finally...She shifted to match that stance perfectly. It was such a small step, but to her, keeping that stance through the weight, through all of the pain, it was an accomplishment in itself, she started to adjust to the weight more as she managed to hold that stance longer and longer. It felt like hours, but it couldn't have been more than 10 minutes between her sloppy pose, and her perfect stance. She was already starting to get passed the pain.
The Water Elemi was ever eager to prove herself. Ayami wanted to be the type of person to protect Atsuko one day, the Albino Saiyan couldn't help but smile at that, but at the same time... She felt a little fear over it. The eager student was the type to hold no fear about putting herself in danger, no matter the cost. The Knight already had several close calls, and even lost one friend already. However, the Saiyan didn't see any reason to sour the mood, so she kept silent on that front. "Well, this will set you on your way!"
The Albino Saiyan commented. Thankfully, it seemed like her reservations about that idea went unnoticed, as Ayami was already drawing her weapon and expressing interest over the fact that the Martial Arts relied upon a weapon, rather than just fists. "That's right, you'll be learning how to use that blade of yours to it's fullest extent. There's also the fact that you can channel Excalibur's power into it, one day. That will be very soon, if you learn fast enough... I believe that you can.", the Saiyan responded as she watched the Water Elemi struggle underneath the Heavy Weights.
It really wasn't easy to wear them, especially given just how inexperienced Ayami was at the moment. But the more she wore them, the more she would get used to it. Eventually it wouldn't break her down so badly. Even just trying to take stance was proving to be a difficult task, but the Knight waited patiently for Ayami. She seemed to be able to grasp the stance well enough, it was just taking her time to properly hold it. "That's right, take as long as you need. We're in no rush to get through this, the more time we spend on this..."
The Knight paused as she looked over the Elemi for a moment, Ayami managed to assume the stance just about right. There were a few things that needed to be touched up, but Atsuko could help with that. "The more you'll benefit. We're going to take this in steps.", the Saiyan then calmly exited her stance as she walked over to the Elemi, then using her hands to mindfully guide Ayami into properly using the stance. "I know it's difficult, but you've almost got it... Just a little bit of adjustment, and it might make the Weights easier to cope with."
It turned out, Atsuko didn't really need to do a whole lot to help Ayami into the right stance. She was a very fast learner, that was good! Now the question would be if her progress would reflect her determined nature. "Very good! Now... You know how to stand, moving will come naturally enough. Try to hold the stance as best as you can.", the Knight then began to step back as she entered her stance once more. "Show me what you can do. Don't worry about holding back, I can take anything that you throw at me."
The Knight explained. The best way to proceed from this point on was observe what Ayami could do in battle. "In order to instruct you further, I'll need to see how you use the style.", the Saiyan finished her explanation, she couldn't think of much else that needed to be said at the moment. All of the techniques related to the Martial Arts Style had to wait for the moment. Ayami wouldn't be able to learn them if she couldn't even grasp the basic fundamentals... But the Water Elemi didn't seem the type to be stuck on something for very long.
"She reminds me a lot of you, Atsuko. Struggling through every obstacle... I think she's going to grow just as fast as you did!", the woman in red commented, prompting the Albino Saiyan to smile a little and nod in agreement. "I think she can grow even faster... She just needs to keep at it.", the Knight responded. There really wasn't anything else to be said at this point, it was just time to learn by doing. The Knight wished she had more to offer to help the Water Elemi along, but her mind was currently drawing blanks.
Though there was one thing that the Knight did have to say to compliment Ayami; she was adjusting very well to the pain. That was good, but there was something else for her to take into consideration... Atsuko wouldn't be able to really spar with the Water Elemi. Ayami could barely move with those Heavy Weights on her shoulders. But maybe that would be beneficial, something really simple to start off with. The Elemi was not a very strong individual, nor the most skilled at the moment. Having what was essentially an invulnerable target to practice on that could also instruct her...
Well, that was definitely a good way to improve! This also taught Atsuko a valuable lesson; one style of teaching wouldn't accommodate all students. What would work for Bernael, definitely wouldn't work for Ayami. This would be a good way for the Albino Saiyan to learn from the student... With all of her musings set aside, she closely observes the Elemi's actions. She would be able to spot flaws within Ayami's actions, and be able to help her correct them! It was all a rather exciting prospect to think about. It felt that way for all of her students, really.
But she did have to say that Ayami was one of her favorites, thus far...
Ayami smiled happily, almost like a child receiving a present, her face was lighting up with glee, it seemed she really enjoyed being appreciated for her effort, even if she was unarguably the weakest of Atsuko's students, she didn't care, Atsuko was treating her fairly all the same. She kept constantly improving under the weight, seemingly even faster with the Saiyan's support. She nodded to the teacher's request, and sent her strongest swing towards her. ... She was buckling under the weight and her swings were sluggish. Though, they still showed what it was like without the weight - wild flailing. It shouldn't have been too surprising of a conclusion though, Ayami lived on a remote island, in a fishing village, nobody there was likely to teach her sword skills. That conclusion was more obvious the more she swung, though it wasn't all bad, she was giving it her best effort, and it was hard to judge her for that. After all, the best effort gives way to the best improvement, right?
"You're really good at dodging!"..Said the elemi swinging easily avoidable blade attacks. She was giggling though, she seemed to be having fun with this whole thing. It would bring a smile to almost anyone to see her not only giving it her all - but enjoying it to boot. "hyah! Hiiiiiiiii~" She stumbled a few times with her swings, the weights pulling her left and right, though she managed each time to recover just before falling over. She was flexible and fast, even if she wasn't strong, that much was certain, it could be seen even as the weights pulled her closer to earth. Though, as she heard Atsuko and Excalibur discuss her growth, her eyes lit up like raging flames of passion, she was beyond excited and happy to hear all of this, she gained a short burst of better effort in her swings, just from what was said.
"This is all great! I bet...I'm already becoming stronger." She was certainly hopeful, it couldn't be argued there, she had been ever since Atsuko met her, it was...Respectable in a way, to see someone so happy and hopeful for the future, in a galaxy where there are so many dangers. It was refreshing, would have been to pretty much anyone on the lookout, after those events from the past, especially. Ayami loved it...She loved the new friends, she loved the sights, and what better sight than the lookout...She was grateful to be there training, and to be friends with Atsuko. She never said a word about it, but it was clear through her actions, through her stature, it was clear just how much she appreciated this in her life.
She wouldn't give it up for anything, if she had a choice.
After a while of just trying to connect, she sat down, panting heavily, it took a lot out of her, that she managed to last this long was impressive in itself, though it could be argued she earned a short respite from the training. She laughed exhaustedly. "This is all so great...I'm getting to train! In martial arts!!" She holds her hands close to her chest, her eyes closed for a moment. "I've dreamed for something like this for so long. And I get to share it with someone...I respect." She looked Atsuko in the eyes, smiling, her bright glowing blues captivating practically anyone who stared back. She was so sincere about everything she said, it was impossible to fault her. "Maybe I could even apply this all to becoming a champion, huh?" her head tilted as her eyes shut once more.
She soon stood back to her feet, slowly, but surely. Her break was short lived, but it was okay to her, she got to say her piece. She assumed the stance, a little faster, but still slowly, and readied even more swings, listening to Atsuko's critic as each swing went towards her, trying her best to adjust every time, though still ultimately flailing, she'd likely need an example in order to truly shine, but for now, even just flailing was making her stronger, even this was helping her along, and if it was just that much, she'd still improve in the end. Maybe even mature at the end of the day, though her innocence was perhaps too adorable for anyone to want to remove. Still, through her swings...
It felt like she was holding back.
Maybe it was just the saiyan's imagination? But Ayami clearly did appear to not be going full force, especially as, despite her strength, the hits that may have connected felt like light taps, not like someone swinging to win. Was she afraid to hurt Atsuko? Was her fear based in something else? She wasn't opening up on it, and it didn't seem like she actually had anything to hide, given her expression and stature, maybe she just didn't notice, that could very well have been the case too, but...Time would tell the truth, she'd have to get over her bad habit - or her fear, to improve, and to master the art. One day she would need to use it against someone, she couldn't ever see who, or what, but she would need the full training in order to win - or give her best effort towards winning.
In the end, she was clearly wearing herself out, it may have been time to show her proper swings, better posture, and other basics, she still had the chance to go on, especially if important things were improved. She could shine brightly with just a little push, after all, and Atsuko had all the know how to do just that, maybe even more. "Hahaha, looks like you're winning!" She jokingly stated, it was no competition, she knew that, but she still pretended it was for the sake of motivation. She could use every bit of it, regardless of whether she was doing great, or poorly.
It was definitely still weighing her down immensely, Ayami could barely move properly as well as hold herself up. But even so... Those swings were so wild and untrained, she definitely needed a few pointers to be able to do it right. But would words be enough? The Saiyan didn't have to move all that much in order to avoid the blows, not that she even needed to do that. Something wasn't quite right here, but the Knight couldn't quite put her fingers on it. The Water Elemi seemed to be happy enough, even if she wasn't doing as well as she might have hoped.
"Haha, well... I've had a lot of practice.", Atsuko responded to Ayami's comment about being good at dodging. What was it that was rubbing her the wrong way here? The Elemi seemed to be struggling with more than her own lack of skill and the weights. Though once the comments exchanged between her and Excalibur clicked in Ayami's head, she suddenly had a burst of improvement. It wasn't much, but it was definitely noticeable. This was more like it! The Water Elemi seemed to be aware of it somewhat as well, her next comment proving as such.
"It will probably take a little while for the results of your training to show. But the harder you work, the more you'll improve!", the Saiyan replied in a calm tone of voice. She was still stepping out of the way of each slash, or lightly deflecting with her own sword. Ayami's improvement was noticeable... But there was still something holding her back, and the Knight was trying to figure out what it was. Even if she was largely untrained, was that really all there was to it? It couldn't have been, Ayami did share the story of her performance against a Champion after all...
So what was the difference between then and now? When the Water Elemi opted to take a break and sat down, the Knight was still pondering it over in her head. But even if appearances seemed off, Ayami seemed perfectly happy and within the right mindset. The Elemi was so excited about being able to train in Martial Arts, and even more, it was with someone that she respected. That prompted the Saiyan to smile, even despite the thoughts that were plaguing her mind at the moment. She had to figure this out in order to help her student...
"Of course! In fact, that might make for excellent training. Martial Arts is incredibly useful, but even if you know every single secret about a given style... You still need to constantly improve your body and mind. So if you have aspirations, that's good! Use them for motivation, the more you can drive yourself on, the higher you can rise.", the Saiyan responded. Ayami had managed to wear herself down so fast, but that was alright. Atsuko was patient with her students, she felt that being kind and actually helping them along would do more.
She couldn't just hold their hands forever... Tempting as it might have been at times, but she could at least properly teach them. Finally, the Elemi stood back up and resumed stance. This time she had an easier time getting into it. With that, their training resumed. Each blow that Ayami sent out still had that same feeling to it, that it wasn't quite right. Maybe she just needed an example? "You're doing good on holding your stance, but try to keep your balance more. I know that's difficult with the Weights, but think how much better you'll be if you get used to them!"
The Saiyan would state. "Try to strike when you're in the right range, so you don't overextend yourself. Don't be afraid about not holding back, either! The only way you'll learn is by giving it your all.", as soon as she mentioned that, it was like something clicking inside her mind. Was Ayami holding back? It was starting to add up now. But why was the Elemi holding back so much? It wasn't like the training would prove to be dangerous, let alone the fact that there was such a huge difference in power that Atsuko really wouldn't be hurt.
Even if she just stood there and took the strike without hesitation... Eventually it turned out to be the same issue as before, Ayami ended up tiring herself out. When the Water Elemi hit the ground, she let out a joking statement about Atsuko winning. "Honestly... You shouldn't be too worried about winning. This is training, all I want is for you to become skilled.", the Albino Saiyan would say with a small smile. "While you're resting, I'm going to show you a few examples. Excalibur and I will slow it down so you can tell what's going on."
The Knight then added. "Pay close attention, okay? This might help you more than my words do.", with that, Atsuko and Excalibur both got a fair amount of distance from each other, and took their stances. The pair stared at each other for a moment, and then they surged forth. Their blades soared through the air, crashing against each other with metallic clangs that echoed throughout the grand hall they were inside of. The two seemed to be perfectly coordinated with each other, it looked less like a battle, and more like an elaborate dance.
Normally, it would have been difficult to keep track of, too. But true to her word, Atsuko and Excalibur were both slowing it down enough so that Ayami could see the method behind each movement, action, and reaction. Eventually they separated from each other and calmly exited stance, the Albino Saiyan would calmly turn to the Water Elemi. "Now, I want you to attack me with everything you've got; don't hold back anymore. Don't worry about hurting me, I've managed a lot worse.", the Knight would then instruct the Elemi, maybe she just needed a bit of comfort in the fact that she wouldn't hurt her.
But one thing was for certain, her potential needed a moment to shine. Ayami was so bothered by something that she couldn't give it the chance. That needed to change. Maybe the right words and the right example would help her along... Time would tell.
WC: 1,051 Total WC: 3,099 ____________________ Atsuko and Excalibur demonstrated Martial Arts [BG] for Ayami!
Ayami watched carefully, their blades moving slowly, but still dancing through the air, it was unlike anything she had seen before, though...She had seldom seen anyone use a sword save for herself, really, so it was to be expected, still, she enjoyed the showing they had given, it was a short time before she got up again, the rest proving just enough to get her pumped back up for her training, she hopped up onto her feet, stumbling for just a moment under the weight's pressure, but she drew her sword, her stance nearing perfection, her face became serious...Perhaps with only a hint of fear, fear of what...She wouldn't let on, she was determined now.
She was determined to prove her worth, even if this master of hers didn't care of whether she was "worthy" or not, she still wanted to be just like Atsuko, to be her equal, in a way, perhaps out of respect and sentimentality. Though, seriousness was definitely a new expression for her... She pointed her blade at Atsuko. "v...Very well, I'll show you my potential!" Did she hesitate saying what she did just now? Regardless, there was little time to think it over as she rushed forward. [Ayami is attempting to learn Martial Arts [BG]!]
Though her movements were still sluggish, she seemed to be further adjusting to the weights, it was like she was putting new found effort into this, like playtime was over, though...She didn't seem angry, of course, perhaps it was pure determination to become stronger. But regardless, she rushed forward, her attacks all aiming to connect, though, even as they may have, it still felt like she could have hit harder, was she afraid of something? It was all starting to add up...If one had time to think of such things.
"HiyyyaaaahhhH!!!" her yell rang out as she tried her best to mimic the blade dance performed by both Atsuko, and Excalibur, it was nowhere near perfect, but she didn't let up for a second, those sluggish attacks...Would've probably been more than a match for someone at her skill level. Though, it was a different story for the Saiyaness, naturally. These sluggish, yet not untrained attacks, if they even connected, probably felt like small taps, nothing more, nothing less. But she wasn't going off of the offensive as slash after slash let out, her yells ringing out in the reality marble, echoing off of illusionary walls, singing of her resolve.
"Oraoraoraoraoraoraoraoraora!!" Her battle yells rang out louder and louder, her attacks were becoming more precise, more trained, She was a quick leaner...it showed, her sluggishness was, little by little, giving way to strength, power, the kind unique to those trained in an art, already her grasp on this form was growing, it wouldn't be long before all her effort paid off, it seemed. But there was still something off...Like something was bothering her. It was odd just how little she let on about it, it was almost like she herself wasn't aware, but was she really not? Was all of this really that unknown to her? It didn't seem like she'd crack right now...Maybe later on, if their friendship grew deeper, she could understand more.
She stepped backwards, panting as she stared at her master, the determination not dying out, she was already more sure of her ability. She didn't let her gaze up even once, though her posture was lurched due to the weights, her face covered in sweat from all of the exerted effort, and her eyes lit up with passion, she could only sit silent for so long, and thus, she spoke. "This is it! All of my effort today, culminating right now, right here!" It was a new side of her many had not seen before, perhaps she realized just how much this meant to her, how much she wanted this, it was going to be earned. Even if it took all she had.
Her yells became fierce, but still no sign of anger within, there was nothing else but willpower now, unending amounts, all aiming to become stronger, all to protect her new friends...There was almost nothing to get in her way of that desire. Slash after slash came at the kami, all of them were still nowhere near her level of expertise, but they had drive behind them, this was enough for the Elemi, she was giving it so much, each slash felt like a struggle to her, but not one of defeat, one of will, a struggle to improve, an effort that was to be commended, her blade danced through the air, showing very gradual improvement over the course of this moment, minutes gave way into hours as she lost herself in the effort, she couldn't stop now! No! She kept going further, she'd go on until she passed out, if it had to be that way! It seemed like this hidden side of Ayami's could lead into her full strength being realized, if only she could tap into it more, if only she was strong enough for such a thing, her hair was giving off a strange...Watery aura as she thrust her blade forward over and over.
She had some kind of strange aspect into her attacks...Her power was clearly so low, but she was performing her attacks above what said power was capable of. Was it really just the will power alone? Was this her true potential, as she had said before? It was almost something to be feared, if one were at her level...There was little imagining what she would be at a higher level of power, it certainly must have brought up some concern over whether or not her mood controlled her full potential.
And whether or not it could be abused by shady individuals.
Maybe it was a fear she herself held locked up...Maybe it was why she held back, why she was afraid...It was hard to exactly deny, it added up quite well, truth or not.

Ayami used [BG] Martial arts against Atsuko for a total of 249 pl in damage!
The Water Elemi that rose up to her feet was much different from the playful one from before; it was still the same person, that much couldn't be mistaken. But the way she carried herself now, the way she looked. The way her aura had shifted, it was subtle and yet noticeable. Ayami was actually willing to try now, she just needed a gentle push in the right direction. The Albino Saiyan could practically feel the determination that was coming off of the normally energetic girl, it might have been so small and insignificant at any other time, if it were any other person...
But this was a huge change. It had taken the Knight by surprise ever so slightly, but all the same she waited. The Elemi pointed her blade at the Albino Saiyan. Her words lacked the same confidence that her appearance gave off. But it seemed like Ayami would be going through with it now... Atsuko watched as the Water Elemi pushed through all the odds, now keeping her balance and striking with precision and purpose. It may have been sluggish, but the difference was entirely noticeable. The Saiyan calmly moved in order to evade each blow, though it was not to mock the Elemi.
Ayami let out a yell as she tried to mimic the dance from before; it wasn't a perfect replication. There was more than a few faults in it... But she was holding her stance. The Water Elemi was actually doing it! Atsuko couldn't help but smile in response, she was finally getting through to her student. A major step had been made here, but now they needed to keep the momentum going! Ayami wanted to keep practicing this style, truly get a good feel for it, the Albino Saiyan was accommodating in light of that.
Even though the Elemi wasn't able to land a blow on the Saiyan, that didn't matter. Just doing this was going to make her stronger, it was going to improve her skill. There may very well be a day where she would be able to force Atsuko to actually block, instead of merely step out of the way... She looked forward to that day, above all else she wanted to see the Elemi rise to such a level. If she could keep that determination, she could do it. But she had to overcome her fears, she was certain that Ayami had them now.
Atsuko just wasn't sure what it was that was holding her back... But they had plenty of time to get to know each other, they would undoubtedly become very close over the course of this training. Even though the Elemi was clearly outmatched, her battle yells showed just how serious she was about this. She was a very quick learner! Atsuko could feel her pride building up, not in herself, but in her friend and student. The Water Elemi stepped backward for a moment, taking ragged breaths. But it wasn't long before she spoke her next words.
This was a culmination of all of her effort... Atsuko couldn't have put it any better herself. "Exactly... You're doing great! You may not think it... There may be people that would tell you otherwise, but you can trust me; you're taking those first steps to becoming a true Martial Artist.", the Knight would add in response. Ayami's yells were fierce, but lacked anger. She was unleashing as many slashes as her hindered body would allow, and Atsuko could only show just how impressed she was, even as she continued to evade the attacks that were heading straight for her.
That was when the Albino Saiyan noticed it; a quirk to her Aura. It looked watery, somehow... And the strength in her blows, she could sense it. The difference between them and what the Water Elemi herself was standing at was very clear. Truly... These kids are shaping up to be pretty interesting. Finally the Elemi's attacks would cease, and the Saiyan was left smiling at the end of it all. "You did it. Now you really know how to fight with your weapon... But there's even more improvements to be made, take a moment to recollect yourself."
The Knight would say in a calm tone of voice, allowing her friend a moment to breathe before she would continue the lessons. "Now... The first technique that you will learn in this Martial Arts Style is called Invisible Air, I told you a little bit about it before. This is going to let you channel Excalibur's power into your sword. It's a little more tricky than just holding a stance, however. Excalibur and I will demonstrate it for you!", the Knight would then turn her gaze to the woman in red. The Sacred Sword gives a nod and enters stance just as before.
"Watch closely... And if you can sense energy, make sure you focus on the feeling of the technique. It's not entirely different from channeling energy into a blast, but instead of forming a beam or a ball...", the Saiyan would pause as she began to surge her energy forth, her blade became enveloped by a light wind. "You call upon the wind to give you aid.", the Saiyan would then rush straight towards Excalibur, unleashing a flurry of slashes. The woman in red was able to block or deflect each one, but the purpose behind the demonstration still got across.
The Knight would calmly turn to Ayami once more, still holding her stance. "I want you to use that technique on me. Don't worry, you're not going to hurt me. Hold onto that determination you showed me before, that's going to be the key to your success!", the Albino Saiyan would then end her instruction. Like so many times before, she needed to see what the Water Elemi could do before she could help her out any further. The Knight was a little nervous at first, but... She was really starting to get the hang of training others now.
Maybe that was a good thing, considering how many wanted to learn from her. She never expected that to happen, but it was happening right now...
WC: 1,030 Total WC: 4,129 _______________ Stamina 4/4 Atsuko demonstrated Invisible Air [OT-1] with Excalibur! Stamina 3/4
The Elemi watched with passion, mentally taking in every word, to her, this was deeply important, and she was going to make sure every single point came across clearly. She stood up after she had rested long enough, observing the next example closely, she saw the aura rise up the blade, power being put into it as it lit up from said aura, she noted how it affected the attack, the power that was sent off from it, this was all important to realize. She waited until Atsuko had finished speaking, ready to try it herself as said technique came around for her to learn. The fire in her eyes hadn't faded even a bit.
It would take a lot to knock it out of her, after all. And she wasn't going to back down from this new challenge! She took on the stance, this time it was almost immediately acquired, unlike the previous stance, she had adjusted to this weight, and subconciously learned to move with it. if she couldn't overpower it, she'd work with it. She began focusing, trying to draw energy into her blade, her deep blue eyes tightening shut as she focused harder and harder, all in an effort to try.
[Ayami is attempting to learn [OT-1] Invisible Air!]
The energy began crawling forth onto the blade, it's power far below that of Atsuko's, it didn't radiate like a star, but she still put so much effort into this, like every last ounce of energy counted, and then she sent it forward at Atsuko, slashing with all her might! She didn't need to be told that it was imperfect however, her energy sense was - as always, visual on top of sensual. She was somewhat disappointed in what she gave out. "A-Again, I want to try it more!" Her effort had to be commended, she wasn't about to ease off, and so she stepped away, assumed her somewhat decent stance again, and resumed the technique, air slowly drawing around the blade, it would have been dazzling to an average person, to these two however, it left a lot to be desired, unlike Atsuko's blade, this one had little more than small wisps visible. She was getting angry over this, it was rare for her to be angry, but she was frustrated, was this the most she could manage?
She sent out another strike, this one fighting with the weight, to become faster as gravity did it's job, it might have taken some by surprise, and she was counting on it. She sent this one out with all she had, but it still wasn't enough for her, she scoffed frustratedly. "One more time, one!" She hopped back a little, but something was odd this time, as she grit her teeth, the water flowing around her hair started to lower down to her body, it became more noticeable, and as she assumed her stance, and began drawing the air into her blade, the air moved faster, it grew brighter as an aura, it was still small compared to Atsuko's, but it was something, it was above what she had performed just moments ago.
She did it again, she used gravity on her weights as she thrust forward, the energy in her blade at what seemed to be beyond her limit, she aimed right for Atsuko's torso, not because of malice, but because it was one of the biggest spots on her, with the biggest chance to hit, if she was ever going to manage, this was it! It had to connect, she was hoping for it, even if it did nothing, it would be a major accomplishment to this girl to manage something like that! All of her energy was poured into this one moment as time seemed to slow. She didn't know if it would hit, she didn't know if it would even work, but she was rapidly increasing her power, just what was this girl?
She stopped after that attack, panting as she looked down at the ground, she was dissatisfied with the results, was this all she could manage? She was starting to hold back tears at this rate, though she quickly got back into the groove of things to hide it from the saiyaness. She wasn't going to lose to her feelings! "J...just one more time, I caan get it this time!" She protested, going back again, taking her usual, slightly improving stance, and drawing energy into the blade, it was going just as it had the last time, she was putting so much power into it, but she herself was so weak, where did it all come from? Was she really an average being? She had to be, she couldn't even score a hit on the Kami, there was little explanation for it, she just...did put that much energy into it, and with that, she repeated her previous strategy, throwing all of her might into the slash aimed at Atsuko's torso, her eyes burning brightly despite the water radiating from her body.
"Yaaahhhh!!!" She had put so much power into this last attack that she dropped to her knees slowly afterwards, that was it, she'd need to catch her breath before continuing on, and yet, she started to object regardless. "I...I can still do it again! Let's keep going on this attack, I know I can get it down! I...I gotta." As much as she was protesting however, Atsuko could easily see the exhaustion setting in, this girl would need a short rest, besides, it was likely time to move on to another technique anyway, perhaps one less frustrating to the girl. One even she could handle? Though time would tell just how true such a thought was, this girl was...Emotional, that much was revealed more and more as they trained, she had a lot of emotions, she wasn't always so cheerful, and while she was clearly not angry at Atsuko herself, she seemed to be angry over something, perhaps Ayami's own efforts frustrated her, perhaps it was all feeling hopeless, she tried to ignore it all, but her emotions were not hidden away.

Ayami (involuntarily) activated Enrage! x5 was put into her attack as she unleashed [OT-1] Invisible Air for 1,036 PL!
The Water Elemi seemed to be growing even more in determination to prove herself. It was something that the Albino Saiyan could relate to, there was a point in time where she felt exactly like that... If she could use those feelings to drive herself forward, there may very well be a day that she would catch up to the Knight. Even if she didn't, all of this would still benefit Ayami. One thing she was certain of was the fact that she would grow into someone capable of defending Earth, and the Saiyan would have no reservations about standing alongside her in that goal.
The Elemi would take stance with speed that showed it was becoming like nature to her, all of her students were learning so fast... It was honestly incredibly impressive. Soon after that, Ayami would begin to channel her energy into her blade. It was a slow process at first, but Atsuko anticipated this. "That's it... You're doing it.", the Knight would comment as she watched her channel the energy further, it didn't take much longer for it to show; wind was enveloping her blade and she was able to hold it steady, despite how difficult that must have been.
Ayami then unleashed Invisible Air towards Atsuko, and she stepped aside just like with all of the other attacks. The Elemi seemed disappointed somehow with the result, and asked to try it again. The Knight didn't see much need in it, she was doing perfectly well... But she gave a nod. "Alright, we'll go over this one as much as you like.", the Saiyan stated, trying to be accommodating to her friend. While she was making more progress, and was holding part of the right mindset... She was growing visibly frustrated. Atsuko could tell it almost immediately.
Ayami fought with the weights to add momentum to her blow, but it was the same result, Atsuko was able to step out of the way. The Water Elemi let out a frustrated scoff as she asked to perform the technique yet again. The Albino Saiyan could feel something growing inside of the girl, her power was rising somehow... But that didn't make any sense! The Water Elemi was far too inexperienced to have access to a transformation. Atsuko wanted to see things play out a little more, so she gave another nod, allowing the Elemi to continue practicing the technique.
The Water Elemi sought to use gravity alongside her weights to enhance the blow yet again, now aiming for the Knight's torso. Atsuko moved her blade and blocked the incoming slash... But right after that, the Elemi slowly dropped to her knees... Desperately trying to catch her breath, but even despite that Ayami started to protest that she could keep going. Atsuko calmly raised a hand to stop her. "That's enough... You know how to perform the technique. You need to keep in mind that your power isn't very high yet, even more you're dealing with Heavy Weights."
The Saiyan calmly explained to the Elemi. "Don't sell yourself short, alright? The results won't come immediately, but they don't have to. The fact that you've already found out how to use a Martial Arts technique over and over again... That sort of thing doesn't come easy to everyone, you know?', the Knight would continue in her attempt to comfort Ayami. "By the way... I noticed that when you give into your rage, it increases your power.", the Saiyan would exit her stance, calmly walking over and sitting down next to Ayami. "Now, listen... I know firsthand what it's like to have something like that."
The Knight would begin onto her next point. "It's easy to become wrapped up in that feeling, to ride on it to overcome any obstacle. One of the most important battles I ever fought in my life saw me become a Super Saiyan... How I ascended is that I gave into my anger, and it gave me a huge power, exactly what I needed to protect my home, and save my friends.", the Albino Saiyan continued her speech to Ayami. "But I lost control of myself, too. Someone died because of that... I tried to kill another person, too."
The Saiyan would cast her eyes to the ground. "I ended up taking the life of someone else, instead. Trust me when I say that you don't want to be ruled by your anger.", Atsuko would then say as she turned her gaze to Ayami, looking her in the eyes. "Anyone can set a wild beast free. It takes true skill in order to control it. Right now? You need to learn to control it... And then you'll really be able to show how powerful you are.", with that, she gave the Water Elemi a pat on the head.
Ruffling her hair a little bit, too. For some reason, it just... Felt like Atsuko should act something like a parent there. She would then stand up. "You don't need to do it all at once.", she would end that particular subject. "The next technique for you to learn is Mana Burst. I'll demonstrate it for you.", she would then look back to Ayami once more. "Don't get too frustrated, alright? You're really doing well.", after having said that, she turned towards Excalibur, who had already gone a long distance away from the Albino Saiyan, this was about the right range needed...
"Mana Burst works by channeling your energy into your body and your weapon, and then instantly expelling it in order to increase your performance... Think of it like a jet burst.", with her explanation finished, Atsuko then surged her energy forth, a light blue aura flaring around her, and in the next moment... She began to step towards Excalibur, building up a huge stride as she expelled her energy. It culminated in a slash with incredible momentum built behind it; though the woman in red was able to block the strike without much issue. The Albino Saiyan would then turn to Ayami.
"Now! I want you to use Mana Burst to close the distance and then attack me! I know you can do it, don't worry about failure, or needing to get it just right!", the Saiyan would say just loud enough for her student to hear.

The Elemi's heavy breathing slowed and quieted over time, she listened to the saiyaness, though all while holding her knees up to her chest, her arms wrapped around her legs. She understood somewhat that she wasn't supposed to feel like she won, or like she lost, but this was a personal thing for her, maybe she WAS wrong, but she still felt this way all the same. She couldn't really control herself. maybe she didn't entirely understand what she was herself. "I know I'm not strong enough, that's why I'm trying so hard. All those others on that beach...They were so strong, Bernael, and even you! I feel...Helpless, sometimes, I guess. I'm not...Trying to let my pride get in the way, it's just...I don't know...I don't even understand my reasons for feeling that way."
It was true, it wasn't about pride, it was about something else, she respected her new found friends so much, but she couldn't hold a candle to their power. She didn't have a chance in the world of being equal to them, perhaps that was her problem, or maybe it was something else entirely, it remained to be seen, even for her. But she took note of what Atsuko said next. "Y...Yeah, I was told not to get mad because bad things happen..." She looked at the floor much like Atsuko soon did too, listening to her talk. "But...It's not always as easy as just closing your eyes and it goes away! What if I can't control the situation? How can I even control something that dangerous, anyway?" She had legitimate questions, there were no real good answers to it, as far as she knew, and there-in seemed to lie a deeper problem, one she wasn't being open about, but there was a hint of some deeper meaning to her words. "What if I can't control the situation"...
Atsuko's next words elicited a gasp of fear out of Ayami, though she was quick to silence herself before it became too noticeable, it seemed to be in response to how she lost control and killed, just what was it that scared her? It didn't seem to be directed at the Kami, but rather, it seemed to show fear on another front. "Ah..." But her fear was soon distracted by the pat on the head, she gave a sigh, but it was soon followed by a small smile. her watery aura started to slow, soon becoming nothing more than a few swirls coming off of her head in certain spots, it really was due to her emotions, it seemed...It would take training to ease this power, it wouldn't be something she could just snap herself into, either, it would take dedication, more than that, it would take help...From her friends. She soon stood up from the floor.
"...Right." She gave a nod, dusting herself off a bit, she then moved to watching Atsuko perform the next technique, she observed as closely as possible, she saw Atsuko's energy shrinking into her body, and onto her weapon, compacting itself...And then when it stopped, it all burst out from within her, her body and blade flying across the room to strike the target that stood before her, it was blocked true, but this was to be expected, it was calm training, not something like a real battle, she gave herself another nod before stepping forward, carrying her blade along. She grinned, her eyes were still filled with determination, though her smile was much more like the usual water elemi. She took on a stance, closing her eyes and concentrating, focusing deeply, she went silent for several minutes, just putting all of her might into performing this technique. [Ayami is attempting to learn [OT-1] Mana Burst!]
She focused for even longer, waiting for the right moment...And then all at once, she forced herself to release all of the stored energy, she felt herself glide across the room, even with the weights there, she closed the distance in the blink of an eye, attempting to strike Atsuko with her attack, this ability...She seemed to have almost perfected it on her first try, perhaps with her mind at ease, she achieved some kind of clarity, the kind that let her do just such a feat, and while it still lacked the finish that Atsuko was able to manage, it held onto the speed, being slower than Atsuko - But faster than most at her level, perhaps even some above her level. It may not have connected, but she felt far better about this now, she felt like she had done well, and yet, she wanted to try again. "once more, please!" Was what she called out as she backed off back to her starting point, and began the slow process of focusing her energy, this area could have still used improvement, she left herself far too open during this, but all in all, she was still doing above average for her first few attempts, much to the surprise of herself.
Soon though, she had pulled off her limit of energy focus, letting it all go in an instant as she closed the distance yet again, attempting to make a connecting attack, even trying to go for a double slice, though the second one cause her to stumble and almost fall as she lost balance through the momentum of it all, but it certainly felt to her like, with a little more practice, this ability would be fully ready for use in actual combat, she was sure of it, and she was feeling much better than before, while her attacks lost some of the limit breaking energies she had, she was still doing fine, which was a good thing in itself, she wasn't so fruststrated now, though she seemed to have some hidden issues that may have needing further investigating at a later point, for now it seemed as though she was as good natured as before this started, it seems that little talk was enough to do her some good, for what it was worth.

Ayami exits [Enrage], dropping back down to the basic x3 race multiplier!
Ayami uses [OT-1] Mana Burst, a resulting attack power of 621 PL! Stamina 1/3
Understandably, Ayami felt helpless due to not being able to hold even a candle in comparison to everyone that was around her. But there was a reason why she couldn't; she spent all of her life living in peace. She never had to worry about training, or fighting for her life... This was her first taste of what it was like to undergo actual training. What's more, she was skipping several steps by going right into Martial Arts Training. She wasn't going to compare to everyone else... But this was going to benefit her, that much was undeniable. Atsuko just needed to make the Water Elemi see that.
Apparently the Elemi had been told not to become angry, as bad things happened. Judging by the fact that it caused the girl to go up far beyond what should have been her normal power, that made sense. But Ayami was expressing so much fear over being unable to control the situation... The Saiyan could relate to that entirely. Perhaps they had met for more than just one reason, the Albino Saiyan became determined to convince the Elemi that she didn't have to deal with it all alone, and that she could control it.
It was a good first step that she was able to comfort Ayami from her fears, at least for now. Maybe they would have more of an opportunity to discuss them later. But for now, they needed to continue their training! The Water Elemi smiled, seeming much more natural this time around. Then she began to channel her energy, in a very similar fashion to how the Knight had done before. It took the Elemi a bit longer to learn how to use it properly, but then she began to expel her energy and glide across the room with amazing pace.
Atsuko had blocked the incoming attack, due to the fact that she was able to close the speed that fast. The strike may not have injured her all that much either way, but all the same it was an instinct that the Knight held onto. Almost immediately after, Ayami asked to perform the technique once more. The Albino Saiyan was a little skeptical at first, but she gave a nod. "Alright, one more time.", the Saiyan responded to the Elemi, and then waited as Ayami moved back to her starting position. She didn't have to wait very long.
This time when the Water Elemi closed the distance, she attempted to attack twice; however that nearly knocked her off balance. Atsuko was able to anticipate the incoming attacks and block them both. But all the same... "That was pretty impressive. I didn't think you'd be able to pull that off yet.", the Saiyan commented. "Just be careful. Pushing yourself that far makes an opening that your enemy can exploit.", the Knight would add. But despite the lecture... She really was proud of how much progress Ayami was making. Soon enough she would be finished with the Beginner's portion of the Style.
That would be a good resting point. But first they needed to go over the remaining technique. "You're almost done, then I think it's time for you to get some rest. Give your body time to heal and adjust to those Heavy Weights some more... But first, we're going to practice the last technique that I think you can learn for the moment.", the Saiyan began her next lesson. "Avalon. Excalibur's Sheath, I told you a little bit about it earlier. It gives you the ability to remove wounds, from yourself from your allies.", Atsuko elaborated for Ayami.
"However, although Avalon is doing most of the work... The process still calls upon your energy. The greater the wounds you're trying to remove, the more of your energy you will need to put into the task. It can leave you open to further attack. Use it wisely, alright?", the Knight then made a gesture for Ayami to sit down, as she began to do the same. "I don't know if you've meditated before, but that's going to help with this... Ah, but first.", the Saiyan would pause, as she began to remove one of her gauntlets and roll up the sleeve of her robes.
She carefully moved her blade and cut into her arm. It wasn't the largest wound, nor the most dangerous... In fact, the pain barely even registered to the Knight. "We'll be using this for practice. Avalon will be able to heal this. So, close your eyes. Slow down your breathing. Take a moment to focus.", the Saiyan would state. She allowed the Elemi some time to do this, and then began to speak softly to allow her the chance to focus. "You may feel a few sensations... Energies aligning to their proper places, moments of clarity."
The Knight stated. "It's different for everyone... But when you're ready, you'll know it. At that point, utter this prayer; "Avalon, I call upon your power. Restore that which has become broken. Let strength be granted so that the world might be mended.".", the Knight would finish her lesson... This was the final lesson, and perhaps the most challenging one. As it didn't call upon physical strength or skill. It was something to test the mind, patience and mental discipline were important in mastering a Martial Arts. Someone that could learn all of this... They would surely become a master one day.
Atsuko fully believed that Ayami had that potential, it was just a matter of making her realize that, and guiding her along the right paths. If the Water Elemi could pull this off, she would have earned the right to be called a member of the Knights of the Round, as well as her rest. No doubt the fatigue was starting to set in. This was rather harsh on anyone that didn't have any formal training before. As the Saiyan had learned when she was helping Bernael through the same lessons. It must have been even more tiring for Ayami.
She didn't have nearly as much experience as he did, let alone any formal training. But that still spoke lengths of how she should be respected for the progress she made...
WC: 1,035 Total WC: 6,216 ________________ Atsuko is teaching Ayami how to use Avalon [ST-1]
The Elemi was feeling so much better, those attacks, while they were blocked...They actually connected, she had succeeded in feeling like she had some kind of power behind her, like she could finally become an equal to her friends, it was a wonderful feeling, and she knew that with a little more perserverance, she could become even stronger, perhaps even rivaling Atsuko herself one day, it seemed so far off, but this fanatic was one who was finally living out her dreams, that much was enough for her in the present, she couldn't ask for much more than that, really. She couldn't have been more grateful for this moment, she only hoped she could pass it on somehow, some day.
Maybe she would get that very chance. Only time could tell.
"Can't rest! Gotta finish my training!" She gave Atsuko a calm smile, slight fatique and pain behind it, it was clear even if she was told otherwise, she'd keep going anyway, her determination was almost unmatched, if it wasn't for her peaceful life, one would assume that willpower comes from having a hard life, but that simply wasn't true, her life was perfect, it had slips here and there, but it was okay, she always bounced back, that's just the way she seemed to be.
But she stood strong through it all, it was taking a heavy toll, an unimaginable toll, many at her level would have dropped from the sheer fatigue she amassed, but even despite all the odds, she held strong, ready for her next lesson. She took Atsuko's words to heart however...Don't make openings for your opponents...That was a very important lesson to take in, she memorized it so she would know, even if it was common sense, it was still important. It was important to her more than could be imagined, that was for sure. Though she took all of the saiyaness's words to heart, it still mattered to her just the same. "Right...Avalon, I can heal with this...I can help!" She took on a stance, noting everything down once more, focus her energy...It took her energy to heal others, it could leave her open, so use it wisely and strategically, she made sure she understood everything before proceeding, she had to get it all just right, this was something she was gonna master even if it took many more hours, she was ready to succeed, and such a technique had so many helpful uses, how could she not try to master it? It could very well save someone's life some day...
And so, there she stood, taking deep breaths to pump herself up for this, moving a bit to stretch her already sore muscles, she did however panic ever so slightly upon seeing Atsuko cut her own arm, she gasped for only a brief moment, but took on a determined look, she was gonna heal the kami! It was up to her, even if it wasn't life threatening, if she didn't treat it as such, in a real situation, she thought she might faulter, and so, her eyes shut...
She fell silent, the entire room following suit as everything became soundless, not even the drop of a pin could hide itself in this silence...She focused, focused with all of her might, to free the stress on her mind, to gather the energy inside of her, this was to heal her friend, she couldn't faulter now, she couldn't let any mistakes come about, mere brief moments grew into seconds, these seconds growing into minutes...And the minutes becoming hours. It felt like she would never succeed in this...
But then it came to her. The feelings of oddity, these feelings, they weren't just sensations...They went beyond feelings, they became her clarity, and from clarity came peace, these feelings flooded over her as she began to radiate with energy, it wasn't the energy of someone in a fight, this energy flowed from her silently, moving like a trickling stream, not like a raging rapid, it was so much different, the Saiyaness would have easily noticed it, Ayami felt her fatigue come to a stop, she wasn't about to fall over in this state, instead, she felt stronger than ever, like nothing could push her down... it felt as though she transcended the universe in mere seconds, without ever moving, and then, all at once, she opened her eyes, they glew not as they normally did, but with calming sensation, with power of wisdom, not of fighting, she had almost seemed as a different person, and then she began to speak, just as she was instructed.
"Avalon, I call upon your power... Restore that which has become broken. Let strength be granted so that the world might be mended!" All at once the energy flowing from her blasted away, and she watched Atsuko's wound heal...Just as she was told it would, she watched the skin mend itself without any outside interference, without needing to be bandaged, and this was amazing to the girl...It gave her a new found sense of confidence, she had succeeded, she wasn't aware of any errors she might have made, but this saiyan was healed, no matter how minor her wound, it became better almost instantly, it would have perhaps not worked on a larger wound, but for now...It was enough, that was all that mattered, it was all that could matter up into this moment, that feeling...It was new to her, those sensations were of her mind, but they felt real, like she had actually gained true clarity, like she was a new being in that state...But her thoughts were conquered by her returning fatigue, she slowly, but certainly lowered onto her knees, the fatigue taking it's ultimate toll in forcing her to rest, even as much as she desired to continue, her body fought her, it refused to work with her mind, her mind still going strong.
"I...I did it! I healed you! Di...Did I do good?" She asked behind heavy breaths, it would require the masters words to know just what the result really was, success, or only minor success? She waited as her panting led to fewer words, more thoughts. Just what was to come for her? Would she start seeing this become her strength? These teachings she had followed so closely already...Was she getting them down? She had to wait to see just how things turned out, success was rewarded with patience, that was a lesson she was taught so often in her childhood, one she held closely to, she could wait for results, but certainly her unresting mind didn't honestly want to, she wanted to know just how long it would take to get up to the level of the others, to be able to help out with things, she knew there was no real answer, that she'd have to make the answer over time, develop her body and mind to become as strong as they can be, but some part of her...
Wanted more. Some part of her wanted...The truth to be stopped, a truth she had held onto for as long as she could remember, Atsuko was her friend, she knew this...But now wasn't the time to mention just what made her afraid, just what made her hold back against her master, these things she would have to wait to speak up about, to wait until she felt it was right...But if it were up to her, there would never be a right time, there would never be that one moment where she needs to speak up, where everything she knew needed to be revealed to her friends...But it had to come some day, that much was certain, it would have to come, whether she were ready or not, and that...That terrified her. If they knew the truth about her...What she was destined for...Would they hate her? Disown her? She couldn't know, and she didn't want to, she didn't want the destiny tied to her soul, to everything she was, she wanted to leave that all behind, maybe that was part of why she started traveling the world with these new found friends...Why she chose to follow them so closely, like a child clinging to parent, she didn't exactly see them as parents, but she respected them like such.
As expected, the Water Elemi felt differently about resting. She wanted to keep training, and the Saiyan could admire that... But ultimately the fatigue was going to settle in soon. Besides that, her body was going to need a chance to adjust to everything. Ayami had gone through so much condition in such a short time span, her lack of foundation was really going to take it's toll on her, if not yet, then certainly once she used Avalon's power. That was about the breaking point for anyone that didn't have any formal training. But the Knight didn't mention any of this for now.
The Elemi began to enter meditative posture, falling silent for quite some time. At first it was just as if Ayami only had her eyes closed, and was trying to cast aside distracting thoughts. The Knight closed her eyes and began to meditate as well. This gave her a moment to reflect on everything... There was definitely something bothering Ayami, but the Saiyan didn't have the faintest idea on what it could have been. Other than that rage and that power, but she didn't normally get that frustrated. Atsuko would be able to help her cope with it, too.
The Knight wanted to do that, just like every other person on Earth... She wanted Ayami to have a good life. The Saiyan would see to it that happened one way or another. Even if she had to fight harder than she had ever done before. Even if it meant needing to ascend to a new level of Super Saiyan, possibly at the cost of being blinded by her rage again. If it meant that everyone she cared about could be happy, so they wouldn't go through the same harsh trials... Then it was worth it, Atsuko would face down her fate without fear.
The Albino Saiyan didn't care if that meant she had to fight a thousand Saiyans all by herself. She would fight through as many armies as it takes to ensure that peace would be kept on Earth. Determination swelled within her, but the question was... Would she be able to call upon enough power to do so? Unlike when she transformed, Excalibur made no mention of her being ready yet. Just how much improvements would she need to make before the right pieces were in place? There had to be something that she was missing.
Or maybe it really was just that simple, she wasn't strong enough yet. Natto and Tomoroko both seemed to be on an entirely different league, but that made sense. They had achieved Super Saiyan 3. She hadn't even figured out how to achieve the second form. Maybe it wasn't as far off as she was thinking. Atsuko still had time to figure it all out, one way or another she was going to become a Super Saiyan 3 one day... Just like they did. That was going to be a long road and massive undertaking, but she had come so far.
Too far to stop now. Her thoughts were suddenly interrupted as she felt something from the Water Elemi, that proved to be surprising to the Knight. But then again... It shouldn't have, her students really were shaping up to be something amazing... Ayami especially. The Elemi began to utter her prayer to Avalon, and she could feel the light pain on her arm fading. The blood washed away by the light as well. The Saiyan smirked as she then let the sleeve of her robes down, and began to put on her gauntlet. She opened her eyes to look at Ayami.
As expected, the fatigue hit her hard. But the Water Elemi asked if she did well. The Knight gave a calm nod. "You did it. You've mastered every lesson for the Beginner's portion.", Atsuko would calmly stand up and make her way over to the Elemi, she began to carefully lift her up. "Now, you need the chance to rest. It's just as important as the actual training. Your body needs time to heal, so it can grow stronger from it.", Atsuko stated to the Elemi as Reality began to shift around them, soon enough they were standing back on the Lookout.
Atsuko began to carry her into the Palace. "You really did good today, Ayami...", the Saiyan would voice her praise to Ayami. "I want to keep training you. I believe that you can master everything that I have to teach. But more than just teaching you... I want to help you conquer your fears.", the Knight added. The walking pace was kept calm, and she seemed to perfectly know her way along the winding halls. As for where they were going, that would soon become clear as they came to a door. The Saiyan carefully opened it while still holding onto Ayami.
She stepped inside the room. "You can use this room while you rest!", Atsuko explained, then carrying her over to the bed and gently setting her down on it. "If you need anything, just tell me. Even if it's just talking!", the Saiyan stated, then making her way over to the nearby chair and sitting down. So much had happened in such a small time frame, and now they both had the chance to rest up. Maybe the Water Elemi would be back to her normally cheery self, too. Determination suited her pretty nice...
But Atsuko preferred her being so happy, too. She wanted to see more of that. "Earlier you mentioned being told not to get angry, because bad things happened... I understand that perfectly.", the Knight struck up a subject of conversation. "I don't know if I've mentioned it yet or not... But I'm a Saiyan.", the Knight explained. "That means I wasn't born on Earth. The Saiyans are a violent, warlike race as well. So as you can imagine, when I was younger... I had quite the violent streak.", the Saiyan continued her story to the Elemi. Maybe this would help her somehow.
"But because they were so patient with me, I learned to keep it at bay... At the same time, however. I didn't learn to truly control it.", the Saiyan paused momentarily, thinking over how to correctly say the next part. "When I became a Super Saiyan, it was due to my anger building up to an extremely high point. I lost myself in it. Just like you did earlier.", the Knight then looked at Ayami in the eyes. "But I found out how to control it. And now...", to illustrate her next point, she transformed within the blink of an eye.
Her hair turned from it's normal blonde to a glowing golden. Her eyes from a brilliant green, to a soul piercing teal. But the most notable change was her power. It skyrocketed, for the Elemi who saw energy on a visual level, it must have been doubly unreal. "This is the result of learning to control my rage. I can teach you how to control yours, too.", after making her point clear, she powered back down to her base form. "You wouldn't have to be afraid of losing control anymore. I'm sure of it, Ayami."
Atsuko finished her speech. Now the question would be how the Water Elemi would react to all of this! It was certainly a lot to take in, especially the transformation that happened within the blink of an eye, and how the Albino Saiyan was able to activate it with what could be summarized as practiced ease. "But for now, you need to focus on resting. Once the effects of your training settle in, I think we can move onto not only the next lessons of the Martial Arts... But how to control that power of yours.", the Saiyan added, truly believing Ayami could control it.
She had to be close, after all of this. If not after this training session... Then definitely after their next. The Knight knew that the girl would soon be ready for even more lessons. That was going to be interesting, because the style would grow to be more complex. Bernael was able to grasp the concepts behind the more complex actions, but how would the Elemi take to it? She would just have to wait and see, time would certainly give her the answers she was seeking. "I know that you're looking forward to that."
Atsuko then commented with a smile. The Elemi was so easily excited over things like this. It was an infectious enthusiasm, and she wanted Ayami to keep that purity... Hence the importance of teaching her how to control that power of hers. Atsuko wouldn't listen to any protests otherwise; she was the Master, and Ayami was the student. The Albino Saiyan was going to make her practice it one way or another. The Knight wasn't going to let her lose control the same way that happened back on the battle for the Lookout... She wouldn't wish that type of trial on anyone.
Atsuko still hadn't fully forgiven herself for what happened back then.

The Elemi didn't fight, she didn't argue, she didn't resist one bit as the Knight helped her up, then taking her into her arms, this certainly surprised the exhausted Ayami, but even still, there was zero resistance, it made it far easier no doubt, not just for Ayami, but for Atsuko too, she was so strong...Her arms held tightly like those of a defender, it showed, she was fit perfectly for the job she had, she couldn't have had any other choice right? Ayami believed in destiny strongly, this only supported that, but regardless, there she was, held in the arms of someone she respected, someone who was her friend, she started to fantasize, about her future, about her strength, about where all of this would take her, she dreamed of championships, of being equal to her friends, truly equal, she dreamed of adventures, of saving those weaker than her, perhaps even one day, she would have carried a weakened Atsuko, perhaps this situation would one day be reversed, and then she could help her friend in kind, she owed Atsuko so much, she wanted this to be true one day, not to put her friend in danger, but to help her deeply.
As they walked the halls, her eyes lit up and sparkled, there she was, back to the usual Ayami her friend knew and appreciated, she would have been running across every wall there, into every room twice over, but her body wouldn't allow, and her mind knew it was not the right time for such a thing, regardless, and even her words, which were held back like a dam on the verge of bursting forth and flooding out, were took weak to be spoken, she was capable of speech certainly, but right now, not so much, not in this moment, not in these halls where silence is best, where only their shadows and themselves walk.
Her enthusiasm calmed ever so slightly as she was laid into bed, her exhaustion taking full control, though...Her eyes widened in shock for only a moment when she was told not to be afraid, regardless, she gave the girl a nod and lied back, her eyes closed somewhat as she listened to her friend speak, listened as she spoke both about Ayami, and about herself, it was...kind of her to seek cheering up the Water Elemi, to want her to be calm, and she herself soon spoke up, mid sentance for Atsuko. "I don't know...They always told me those things because the people of my village were...Afraid of me. Even if I controlled it, they'd still be afraid of me, because I'm-Ah..." She stopped herself at that, why was she hiding it? What did she have to hide? She spoke up to silence the matter, rather quickly at that. "...A...An Elemi, you see! So...They'd fear me because...They're h-humans." Those words, they were an obvious excuse, to herself, and to the saiyaness, but why? she was still afraid of something...But regardless, she focused back onto her friend.
"sea-yan...?" She was definitely sheltered, she only knew of elemi, and of humans, this was a race and concept new to her, this girl isolated to a small village, such a concept of other worlds might have been a bit much, even if she did understand, somewhat. But then she saw the transformation, she saw Atsuko change, her aura was so brilliant as it flowed up the walls, as it went across the ceiling, as it went over the floors, out through the doorway, even going across the bed and the elemi herself, she could even swear that it seemed to phase through the walls, this aura...She could have spotted it from two planets away, she was sure of that much, it amazed her, they were so far apart in power, could she really achieve a level like that? "There's no way I'd ever be able to reach that, right? H..Heh...I...It's okay though, I'll try! You know how I am, after all! I won't give up!" There was a tinge of hesitation in even those words, but otherwise she spoke the truth, that did seem to be just how she was, a fighter in spirit. It was to be commended at times, and condemned at others, perhaps.
But she put on a smile, she saw the regret in the eyes of the saiyan, she heard her, she had her chance now, to help. She began lifting herself, soft, pained grunts rang out as she pushed herself to the edge of the bed, closer to her friend, where she was sitting. She spoke up, looking Atsuko in the eyes. "I can't put any judgment in any of that, I can't understand it through your eyes...But, I've already come to know how you really are, you're couragious, you wouldn't kill for no reason, not even as an accident, and if you want to know what I honestly think?" She tiredly reached her arm out for Atsuko, trying to place it on her, to lend her some strength, ironic for this situation, for this girl who could barely move to do such a thing. She stared Atsuko directly in the eyes, that same look of determination from before had returned, the same look that gave her the power to keep going when her body had quit, the same power that allowed her to be equal in training to two other students who stood far above her in strength, it gave her personal strength, and now? She was using it to share that strength, to reinforce her next words.
"I think whatever you did, it was for your friends, for your home...Besides, what happened then? It's over now, you can't change the past...So please, don't regret this, don't let it hold you back anymore, it doesn't have to." This girl...Who was so innocent, in this moment, she spoke with deep wisdom, like someone else entirely, perhaps her words were true...They were deeply sincere, and yet...Despite not matching the girl saying them, they were not the words of someone else, they were certainly her own, honest words, she wasn't being spoken through by someone else, and that was clear, it spoke volumes about how deep of a girl she really was, that behind her silly fanatical self, she was a good person, looking out for friends, perhaps because she had so few in the past...Perhaps because she really cares, but she was still the same Ayami, she just had so many layers.
But it was okay, she must have certainly lent some strength to Atsuko...The irony was so deep in this, a girl not even at 10k in power level, lending emotional strength to one of the strongest beings in this galaxy, it was touching to say the least, and Ayami furthered it by giving Atsuko a smile, one that practically lit up the room with kindness, it was enough to melt hearts...And she soon spoke up again. "You're so very strong...Everyone looks up to you, and you don't disappoint, I know this, I can see it. You were meant for this...To be the kami."
She pulled herself back up onto the bed properly, her eyes going back to sparkling enthusiasm, the normal, after all. "Besides, I know you have a thing going on with that boy~...With Bernaeellll~." She playfully teased Atsuko, though it was pretty obvious...She could tell they had something special, it might've been awkward, but she was too innocent to notice just how much, or maybe it was BECAUSE she was innocent that she did in fact know the implications...Still, she let out a harmless giggle. "I've seen the way he looks at you when you're not looking back! He really has a thing for you. I bet he'd love to see you let go of those regrets~" She really was just the same old silly Ayami...Probably turned Atsuko's face deep crimson from all of this talk, it only egged on the Water Elemi who was...Quite a fan of romance, if she had to admit one thing about herself, it was that. Perhaps - it even rivaled her love for martial arts, for the budokai, for her heroes.
"When ya getting married~?" She giggled more as she continued on, she seemed to be having fun, at least...At the Kami's expense, but she meant no harm in it, that much was certain. Though, she soon rolled over onto her back, looking up at the ceiling, seeing super saiyan Atsuko's energy waves still rolling across, still a little baffled by it. She spoke up after a moment, and after a content sigh. "...Do you ever think someone like me could find love, too? I mean...I've never really been out there, I don't know what love really, truly means. I guess...It's caring about someone beyond friendship?? I know the symbolisms of it, but...I've never had a chance to expeirence love myself, I don't know if anyone would have me, y'know...Cause of my..."charms"." She was of course, referring to her fanatical nature, the way she lit up a room whenever something she liked was brought up, whenever she was told something exciting, it really was fun to be around, but how would it work in a relationship? That's what she asked herself in her mind, maybe Atsuko wouldn't know, but maybe she would. She could, that was the important thing, if she could, Ayami had to ask, to find out for herself, and maybe learn it better...But right now, she only had Bernael, Atsuko...maybe a couple of others, but no one on Atsuko and Bernael's level of friendship, would she ever find someone she liked? That wasn't something Atsuko could answer, so she refrained from saying it, the two she was so familiar with...She loved them as friends, but she was smart enough to know that wasn't the right kind of love for what she was talking about, no of course not, but who else would she meet that she liked on that level, others had shown her kindness, but she felt so appreciative of theirs in particular, would anyone else be able to form that level of bond with Ayami? To know her enough for a relationship to be formed? Maybe now wasn't the time to think of it.
She had her training to focus on, after all, that was very important to her, perhaps only taking a back seat to helping her friends with any issues they may have, helping them overcome any odds they may be at, those two things were her focus...But maybe she could accept help with backseat things like romance, like championships and the like? She would accept it if it were offered, but Atsuko likely wasn't a "guru of love", she had work to do, work that required constant focus, and Ayami understood this, she didn't want to take away from that by any means, but maybe Bern could help? He seemed a little more free, after all. And well...He seemed to have a bond with Atsuko, maybe he'd know how to give her a headstart on romance...She didn't bring this up to the saiyaness though, it must have looked odd as the Water Elemi laid silent, her words running through her head like speeding bullets, this was Ayami's mind at work! She had so many things to think of, and once she recovered today? She was gonna do em all! Even if it took some time...Which it would, but the Elemi was accepting of that, she understood patience, just as she always had, that would never change, though patience must have looked odd on this girl, she was bouncing off the walls when she had free reign of her excitement, she could very well destroy the lookout in enthusiasm alone, it made her giggle imagining such a thing...
