Since the two Namekians had met each other once more after the long time they’ve been separated, they tried to catch up and know more about the other. Even if they considered themselves brothers, it had been so long that they barely knew anything about them.. and about themselves. Helix tried to never show it in front of Arion, but he couldn’t help but feel as if he was just a pebble like any other, but he had found one good thing on the planet: peace.
A thing that he had long forgotten after all of the time, and pain endured on that disgusting planet. He could remember all of his days there, since he was a young Namekian until he managed to escape but he was not alone. Thankfully, there was a Namekian of.. unknown clan whose face resembled a very old person. He had never been able to tell what he was; Dragon Clan, Warrior Caste.. or even of the Mazoku Clan.
The old man was not too frightening, he looked like a Mazoku by his skin but he was never able to sense evil within him. “He could have been suppressing his true nature somehow.. but he’s always been.. generous to me. Perhaps because we were the only Namekians there but I can tell that he had a story behind himself, mostly by his experience. He taught me techniques and abilities, but he always felt like a difficult person to read. I wonder how he's been doing after what happened on that planet..” - he thought to himself.
The two Namekians were in the Eastern Lands, somewhere in the rural area. The place was a huge, green plain with a few trees here and there. Arion was standing in the middle of nowhere while Helix was sitting next to him, evidently lost in his thoughts.
Arion turned, looking down to face him with a curious expression on his face. “Hey, are you okay there?” - he asked. He could tell that Helix was thinking about something but he had no idea of what could be so important, it was clear that he was lost in his thoughts.
Helix perked up and glanced at Arion for a brief moment, nodding shortly after. “Aye. I was.. just thinking, you know. It is still a bit difficult to think of how things could have gone if I had not accepted to follow those aliens.” - he told him.
Arion twisted his mouth slightly, nodding to himself. In their free time on the Lookout, Helix had told him mostly everything of his countless years passed on that planet. He could only imagine what Helix felt, but he knew the fellow Namekian felt much better. “Eh.. everyone has done mistakes, my friend. Trust me you are not the only one.. I wish I could have done something for you. But at least you’re out of there now, no?” - he said, tilting his head slightly to the side as he cracked a smile.
Helix smirked, nodding shortly after. It was true, he considered himself quite strong just for resisting his entire life away from his.. family, which was a pretty big one. After all each Namekian was given birth by the elders of their respective clans. He looked at Arion once more with a curious expression on his face, in the attempt to change subject for a moment; just to liven up the mood. “So, uh.. what about you tell me why the Lookout was destroyed?” - he asked.
Arion blinked slowly, nodding shortly as he took a seat next to him. He cleared his throat and glanced upwards as he spoke. “Eh, well.. it’s quite a long story and I wasn't sure if you were interested to hear it. But I guess you should know..” - he paused for a brief moment, smiling slightly.
“Everything began in my first days here on the planet.. I was trying to ‘investigate’ on the origins of the former Kami but I couldn’t find that much. At that time, there was a Saiyan on this planet named Nasu. Heh, he was quite the fierce one I tell you.. he had an argument with one of the tribesmen in the Holy Grounds and I could sense the poor man’s energy slowly coming to an end.. so I decided to intervene and face him.” - he paused his speech there for a moment, looking at Helix.
Helix’s mild interest had turned into pure curiosity, listening to his fellow Namekian carefully. “You.. against a Saiyan? Woah, let me tell you man.. I wouldn’t have ever imagined you doing that. Before you began training that is.” - he said.
“Eh.” - Arion uttered, he couldn’t disagree on what Helix said. He didn’t believe it himself back then, the Namekian was expecting himself to be a Sage for the planet when he was given the order to depart Namek.. not a warrior. “A friend joined me in facing this Saiyan; her name is Tau. I have not seen her around in these days, but she is still alive. I can tell that much. Anyway, we managed to defeat him and.. he was not that happy at first. He came on the Lookout to take his revenge and-” - the Namekian was suddenly interrupted by Helix, whom spoke up shortly after.
“I see! He destroyed the Lookout then, right?” - he asked.
Arion smiled slightly but shook his head shortly after. “Yes and no. He came on the Lookout twice, the first time was when Atsuko took the role of Kami. He didn’t do much but bother us with talks and things like that. Then, the other time was when he destroyed the Lookout.” - he took a moment to look down at the ground briefly, Arion couldn’t believe any of that had escalated that quickly. But the Saiyans were known for their pride and he could guess Nasu’s was probably broken after all that had happened.
“I can’t tell how it began. I was in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber with Tau at the time, she left earlier while I took some time to adjust to my new strength. I left and rushed over to heal Atsuko, whom was injured at the time. Then.. I can’t tell how it actually happened but her anger granted her the power of a Super Saiyan.” - he said, stroking his chin softly.
Helix blinked slowly, tilting his head slightly at the mention of the Super Saiyan. “..Super.. Saiyan?” - he muttered, looking at Arion curiously. He had never seen one, nor he had ever heard about it.
“Oh, uh. Apparently it’s a legend of the Saiyan culture.. it speaks of a golden warrior who is meant to be the strongest warrior in the galaxy. I am not sure if it’s truly so, but they exist apparently.. we’ve had three Super Saiyans showing up that day. Not only Kami but also Nasu and Athren turned into this Super Saiyan of some sorts.. I was already out of their league when they were in their base form, heh. I felt pretty useless in that situation.” - he affirmed, caressing his own antennas briefly.
“Hm, well.. I am not sure how strong a Super Saiyan is but hey.. you aren’t going to stay below anyone as long as I am here. I intend on making you stronger, and perhaps I could benefit from that myself. Anyway, how did the battle end?” - he asked, offering a reassuring smile to Arion.
Arion smiled warmly, clearing his throat as he’d resume. “There was a huge mess.. apparently Tau and uh.. the other blonde whose name flees from my mind were in love with this Athren and other stuff. I think so at least; by what they were saying. But, you know.. It’s difficult to understand what they mean by love here. Anyway, Nasu’s little brother died and we tried to calm him down with the chance of reviving him.. using the Dragon Balls.” - he finished his speech there, letting out a sigh. Komatsu was revived without using the wishing orbs, which was a better choice in Arion’s opinion; he didn’t mind using them to revive a person but the Dragon Balls were also created in case a worse emergency would show up.
“Ooh.. you guys have the Dragon Balls here. I bet you have restored them, am I right?” - he said, smirking slightly.
Arion didn’t give him an actual response, he offered a nod to his fellow Namekian before he spoke up again. “So.. shall we begin our training?” - he asked.
Helix stood up, letting out a grunt in the process. He couldn’t tell how much Arion had gone through, but it seemed to be quite a lot. “I admit it was quite an interesting story. I hope this.. Nasu won’t show up ever again to cause trouble, otherwise you guys can count on me. I am not sure how much effective I can be, but I can try something. Anyway, yeah.. we should begin our training.” - he said, taking some steps forward as he set a certain distance between the two.
Helix crossed his arms and gestured to the Namekian to go ahead. “Come at me with everything you’ve got!” - he called out, cracking a grin.
Arion stood up himself and took a few steps forward, clenching his fists as he let his knees bend slightly, his stance lowering slightly in the process. A dark purple aura flaring up around himself as he began to power up, his power level increasing gradually. Arion gambled at first but he let all of his power out, and as soon as he did, he adjusted his stance and shifted his gaze at the fellow green man.
“Here I come!” - he said, sprinting forward at high speed as he attempted to deliver a punch on the fellow Namekian. Helix didn’t move of an inch until he suddenly disappeared from Arion’s sight, the Dragon Clan Namekian widened his eyes and took a moment to check out his surroundings with his sense.
He glanced upwards, only to find the fellow Namekian floating in his very same stance he had assumed earlier. Arion frowned and charged upwards against Helix, taking a firm grasp of his leg and spinning him around. Arion tried to gain as much momentum as possible before throwing him away, though Helix didn’t take long to recover his balance and stand up. Both Arion and Helix smirked and charged against each other as both locked into a flurry of punches, each one of them was no joke, it was delivered with a serious intent to strike the opponent.
The lock lasted until both Namekians launched a punch at each other, both trying to apply as much force as possible to counteract the other’s fist. Their smirks had disappeared and turned into a serious expression, Arion seemed to be somewhat at a disadvantage due to the two’s physical differences but he suddenly came up with an idea; he began channeling a part of his energy into his antennas. “This won’t be enough against him though.. I have to use more energy.” - he thought to himself. He grimaced slightly and made the effort to concentrate more energy than usual in his antennas, it was difficult to sustain at first but he got the hang of it shortly after.
The Namekian of the Dragon Clan let all of the energy out into a spiral beam, shot towards the fellow Namekian. Helix raised a brow, unable to dodge it; he didn’t see it coming! In doing so, he let go of the other’s fist, which didn’t hesitate a moment to land on Helix’s face.
Helix was sent off flying for a few meters, the Namekian recovering once more shortly after. He let out a grunt and stood up, stretching himself as he looked at his fellow Namekian. “Heh, nice move there. It was quite powerful.” - he told him, offering a faint smile.
Arion catched his breath, a small crack sound could be heard coming from his neck as he tilted his head to the sides. “Heh, thanks.” - he said.
Helix catched his breath and stretched his arms for a brief moment, taking a deep breath as he grinned widely. “Hehe, you’re not so bad after all. But I wonder.. are you quick enough?” - he asked. Arion had no idea of what he meant, the two had literally just threw tons of punches at high speed.. didn’t he just prove that he was ‘quick enough?’
The Warrior Caste Namekian’s image suddenly flickered as he disappeared, much to Arion’s surprise as soon as Helix reappeared in front of the fellow Namekian, punching him in the stomach. "W-what?!" - he muttered. Arion let his jaw drop slightly, grimacing slightly at the pain inflicted by the other Namekian’s fist.
Arion retreated slightly shortly after, blinking slowly as he looked at Helix. “I.. see. That’s what you meant then.” - he said.
“Aye! That’s what you lack on.. you must be able to see through your opponent’s moves and dodge. Come on, try again.” - he told him before he came at the Namekian with a combination of punches, but all that Arion did was blocking them. In doing so, Helix decided to make it more difficult and kick him upwards, sending him flying in the sky. Arion attempted to recover as quickly as possible and released a small amount of energy into a small energy cannon, shooting it towards the incoming Namekian Warrior.
Helix simply deflected the cannon away with ease, using his bare hand. “I didn’t tell you to block my blows! You have to dodge!” - he called him out, retreating his dominant side as he prepared himself to deliver a blow on the Dragon Clan Namekian.
Arion grit his teeth, frowning as he focused on his surroundings. Helix was charging against him at a pretty fast pace and Arion had no time to think of something, he closed his eyes briefly as he cleared out his mind of any thoughts or feeling; he had to be concentrated. Speed came from physical abilities, yes but also from one’s mind. The Namekian opened his eyes widely once more, making an effort to move away but in the process, he flickered away just like Helix did previously. Helix widened his eyes as he suddenly halted, looking around as he found Arion to be next to him with a wide grin on his face.
“Heh, that was good! But doing it only once isn’t enough, let’s continue.” - he told him, offering a faint smile.
Arion nodded and floated slightly away from the other Namekian as he set, once more, a distance between the two.
“I won't go easy on you!” - Arion said with a firm tone of voice as the two continued their training, for the rest of the day.
