Settling some Details (Solo)

The Overseer of the Saiyan Alliance was in his chambers, sitting in a comfortable chair near the large glass window, from where he could see the whole Soy Capital. Nasu had a thoughtful expression on his face, thinking about the events that were about to take place, such as his meeting with Jarvis. So many things were passing through his mind due to that and he felt like he needed to open up a bit, something absolutely rare for him. But he didn’t want to do so only to ease his thoughts, but also to figure out what he should do. ”So many things going on… And this encounter. I wonder if this alliance will be lasting. And if it will, the implications it will have to the Saiyan Alliance and to the Cerulean Empire. Of course I will be able to save many saiyan lives with this treaty, and by consequence, to strengthen our forces but, military wise, Jarvis’ Empire will have the numbers… He is freeing the slaves and making the saiyans just a regular part of his forces, which completely destroys the Empire’s class system… While most saiyans will hate it, the aliens will celebrate and seize this opportunity to grow despite their birth, similar to how it works here… With the difference that any asshole can become part of that excuse of a faction…” Nasu thought to himself, touching his lips with his thumb, covered by his white glove.

”I need to work on quality over quantity then… I need to have more super saiyans at my disposal and, like Komatsu suggested, I must focus on ascending to super saiyan two. I don’t know what it takes, but mom and dad managed to ascend far beyond that, so I must be capable of doing so… If I become a super saiyan two, not even Kimiko will be a threat to me, even if her base power level is much higher than mine! The Super Saiyan Two is twice as strong as a normal super saiyan, from what I’ve heard… Such an impressive power… it must be mine! And it must be mine before Kimiko even finds out about it!” the hope of ascending to the super saiyan two form gave Nasu hope, the hope to defeat his younger sister in a battle for his honor. He wouldn’t toy with her when they fought again, he wouldn’t commit the same mistakes he did back when he was on Earth, attacking the Lookout. No. This time he would do his best to end her as fast as possible, victory was the only thing that mattered to him and he would do his best to seize it.

Unbeknown to him, Atsuko had already ascended into a super saiyan two, and once Nasu found out about that, he would be ultimately destroyed; his pride would be shattered into tiny pieces and then turned into dust. The effect it would have on Nasu was still unknown, but nothing good would come from that discovery. But that was something that would only be a problem in the future, and maybe not even in the near future.

Nasu was also thinking about Leena, the new super saiyan of the Alliance. ”I’m growing quite fond of her… And that’s not annoying… I guess that’s the weirdest part. I shared classified information with her and I’m even considering taking her to the meeting, even though she is but a sergeant and a newcomer. Why did I want her so badly in the Alliance? Of course her being a super saiyan was a major reason, but if it was only that I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t be so adamant about it.” he thought to himself, sighing a bit and touching his right temple with his index and middle finger, massaging it a bit. Nasu closed his eyes and took a very deep breath. ”Hmph… To think I would one day be interested in someone in such a way… Makes me feel rather foolish. If it was just desires of the flesh, then I would be leaning more towards that other newcomer, Kinoko. Her looks smell like sex.” he admitted, open his eyes a bit. ”I have to admit, I want to have carnal relations to her, but somehow I feel reticent about it… It’s almost like she is asking for it… There’s no smoke without a fire and that’s a fact, and beauty is only skin deep… I don’t know her all that much… But I also don’t know Leena all the much, still, the later seems more… Sincere… Not that Kinoko seems fake, just… Leena seems to be more decent…” the young Overseer thought to himself, but then he shook his head, with a mild irritation and then snorted. ”Such useless thoughts…” he reprehended himself.

The young saiyan had been waiting for Karota; he wanted to get some advice and she was the best one to give him that. It didn’t take her long to arrive in his chambers and, when the automatic door opened, Nasu immediately turned his chair to be able to stare at her with a serious expression on his face.

– You’ve arrived. Just in time. – he said with a cold and serious tone in his voice. Karota, on the other hand, cracked a subtle smile and giggled a bit.

Nasu didn’t feel her approaching because of her habit of keeping her power level suppressed to tha bare minimum. Although that attitude was annoying, it had a purpose: it made her constantly train her mastery of ki, and she was one of the most capable ki users Nasu had ever met. The hybrid saiyaness sit on a chair near Nasu’s own and crossed her legs. – And here I am! Hihi… What’s it you want to talk about, Nasu? – she asked, giggling just a bit. Nasu exhaled and then began. – I was thinking about the meeting, with the Cerulean Empire I mean, in order to formalize the treaty you made with them. – Karota nodded to his words, remaining silent for now. – As Kyuri have already informed you, I’ve met with one of his allies, the demon queen. I wonder just how strong the Cerulean Empire is now and, truth is, Karota, I don’t know if this alliance will do us any good. I mean, of course we will save some saiyans lives and it will help us increase our numbers slightly, but, other than that… Honestly… Commerce? We are doing pretty well on our own! – As Nasu started to voice his concerns, Karota nodded and raised her hand, making him stop right there.

– I understand your point, but you have to consider that allying with them causes us no harm. They will have intel on us? Yes they will, but, truth be told, they already have. We are the ones who don’t know much about this new Empire and the intel we will be gathering will be far more valuable than the one they are getting from us. Commerce is indeed just a small thing for us, but it’s still good if we can bargain good prices for some materials that are rare in here. – Karota had a fairly good point and Nasu completely agreed to that, but, still, he was feeling rather restless. – Still… I fear they will become too strong and become a threat. I don’t like having allies that I can’t destroy if I need. – he said and she once again nodded, now with a far more serious expression on her face.

– Again, I get your point. But as you already know, we have quality. – and Nasu nodded. – Quality over quantity, that’s precisely what I’ve been thinking about. – he admitted. – Yes. We have super saiyans, far more than they should have, and we will continue to grow. Like I’ve informed you the other day, me and Miso are keeping our eyes open to saiyans showing promise, like that Negi boy I’ve told you about. Speaking of which, I must congratulate you for your behavior lately, you’ve definitely improved. – Karota smiled when she said that; the hybrid saiyaness was genuinely happy that Nasu was growing more mature and becoming a little nicer. It was very important to the future of the Saiyan Alliance that all members saw him as an inspiring leader that they could follow because they liked him and his ideal, instead of following him because they feared his wrath. Of course she knew pretty well that Nasu would never be like Natto, but if he could be like Tomoroko, who was feared, but also respected, that was already a flawless victory and she could settle for that. Nasu blushed a bit and gazed away, snorting in annoyance.

– That’s irritating! But I’m trying! Seems to be working, though, I’ve got to give you that! – his tone was showing annoyance, but not all that much, he was getting used to this new behavior of his, and it was not like he was changing from water to oil, nor like he was forfeiting who he was, he was evolving, like everyone is supposed to. – But, anyway, let’s focus on what really matters, alright?! – and Karota giggled to his reaction, making him slightly more irritated, but he left it at that. – You are funny! Hihihi! – she teased him, and that made him grit his teeth and growl to her.

– Dammit, woman! Shut up! – he roared and, after another giggle, Karota got back to the main topic: the situation between the Cerulean Empire and the Saiyan Alliance. – Also… Even though he may have an alliance with this demon queen you and Kyuri mentioned about, the same one who has your blood, as foolish attitude as it was! – she mentioned, becoming more serious. Nasu rolled his eyes in his orbits. ”Oh, for fuck sake…” he thought to himself. – I’m fine! You should know that! I’m fully trained in the Soy School AND the Wolf School! My mind is a fortress that no one will be able to penetrate if I’m not willing to let them in! – Nasu said and Karota just stared at him in silence for a while. – Nevertheless, that was foolish, but what’s done is done. Anyway… Even if he has powerful allies, even other kingdoms and empires as allies, quality can still turn the tides in our favor. And right now we are getting in the perfect middle ground, something we didn’t have in your parents’ time. – Karota paused briefly. – We have a decent number of super saiyans, with a current total of six, which is more than an average squad. – the average squad in the Saiyan Alliance was five members. – You are getting very strong yourself. If you keep up in that rhythm and train even harder, you might be able to ascend to the next level. I’m doing my best too, training a lot with Miso and, even though he prefers that stupid bulky form of his, I’ve managed to help him master the super saiyan form too, reaching its true power. On top of that, Jie Shan and Komatsu are now already pretty much done with their training under the Soy School, right? – and Nasu nodded. – Just a feel more sessions and they won’t be needing my direct guidance anymore. – he confirmed and Karota nodded too.

– They’ve also reached the full power of their super saiyan form, meaning that, from the six super saiyans we have, five of them are fully powered, with one of them getting really close to becoming a super saiyan two. – Nasu nodded, but he also gulped, feeling the weight of the burden he was now about to carry on his shoulder: the responsibility to unlock the mighty transformation that was his father’s favorite battle form. Natto may have been a super saiyan three with the fullest potential of the form, but he would still prefer to fight using his super saiyan two form. The final transformation was saved for dire situations only. ”I need to be able to trigger it, no matter what…” he thought to himself. – And this other girl, Leena… She shows promise! In fact, both the newcomers show promise! That naked girl’s power level is nearly seventy thousand now! Almost twice what it was when she first arrived here! – Karota pointed out. – I’m pretty sure you can get Leena to top form and help her master the transformation and, if she is worthy, I’m sure you could train her. Her skill is still rather clumsy, Miso said. – and Nasu nodded in agreement; Leena’s fighting style was awful, and that was him being generous.

– See? Maybe in a matter of months we will have her a true martial artist and maybe even Negi and Kinoko on super saiyan level, increasing our numbers from six to eight! That’s almost two squads! My point is, Nasu, we are doing fine! Of course we need to be wary of the Cerulean Empire, but think of this as the perfect opportunity to keep a close eye in a potential enemy, while we mask it and pretend to be friends! – and Karota, like usual, had a fairly good point. Nasu didn’t like Jarvis. He knew he was a treacherous bastard that thought only of himself, and always picked the winning side. That was likely the reason he was reaching for an alliance with the Saiyan Alliance; he probably recognized them as a force to be feared, and maybe they even admitted among themselves that they were stronger than any other faction in the universe. ”The demon queen tried to imply something… But it sounded like a bluff, or, at the very least, that by joining forces, their two factions can put up a fight. And if that’s the case, then, again…” and that made Nasu finally crack a grin.

– They would have plenty to lose in a war. More than us. We are a well-established society in the universe. We are recognized by our enemies as a faction to be feared and we have history. They are newborns and if they screw up, the rebellious saiyans won’t even flinch at the opportunity of restoring the Saiyan Empire. They must be absolutely sore a hybrid took over their planet, renamed it after himself, freed the enslaved races, forfeit estate and destroyed the class-system, turning the ruling saiyans into regular citizens, depleted of their privileges! – he said, chuckling a bit, and Karota nodded. – We must seize this opportunity, learn and, if it’s for our advantage, strike them when they aren’t prepared. If they proof to be a valuable allies, we can keep our peace for as long as it’s not a threat for our sovereignty and culture. – Nasu decided and Karota chuckled. – Well said, Overseer. By the way, have you decide on the party you will take with you? – she asked, and Nasu’s expression become thoughtful again.

– That has been bugging me a hell lot. I want to show strength. Ultimate Strength. But at the same time I can’t even dream for a second in leaving Planet Natto unprotected. – he said with a serious tone. – Therefore I chose to leave Miso behind, in charge of things, together with Kyuri. We will have both brains and power here. – and Karota agreed. – Good. And who are you taking with you to the meeting? – she asked straight. Nasu sighed and remained silent for a bit, before starting his explanation, as it was implicitly required. – First and foremost, I will be taking you. You were the one who formalized this treaty, and I value your wisdom in such matters above all. – and Karota nodded in agreement, before Nasu continued. – I intend to take Jie Shan too. He is a counselor, but still a rookie. He can learn a lot from such an important experience and, on top of that, he is the second strongest in the Alliance at the moment. Komatsu is far too immature and since he endangered the whole situation because of Athren, I feel that him meeting Jarvis will do more damage than anything else, so I can’t take him. – Karota added her two cents to that decision.

– Komatsu cannot even dream of going there. He won’t be able to control himself near Jarvis and he may screw this up badly! I like the kid, but he still acts like a spoiled brat. In that regard, I’m glad he lost the fight in the arena. He isn’t ready to be counselor yet. – and Nasu nodded in agreement. Then, the young Overseer stopped; he wasn’t sure how he was going to explain the last person he was willing to take to the meeting. Karota saw he was hesitating and narrowed her emerald eyes. – And the last person is…? – and Nasu growled a bit, adjusting himself in the chair that suddenly became quite uncomfortable.

– Leena. I’ve chosen Leena. – he announced, and Karota rolled her eyes. – Really, Nasu?! The rookie? For crying out loud, she just became part of the Alliance. I know she is a super saiyan and that would make us a four super saiyan squad, showing an absurd amount of strength, but do you know her enough to put your hand in the fire for her? What if she loses it and screws up?! She just came here planning to attack Vegeta and deployed her minion to intercept and kill the android emissary without even asking anyone! – Karota said in a rather irritated tone. Nasu folded his arms tightly, but he was determined to keep his decision. – I’m well aware of that, but I trust her! She is a decent saiyan and I believe she is loyal, at least to me. She also promised not to say a word and I think she will keep her promise. – when he said that, though, Karota widened her eyes and her jaw dropped. – You shared that information with her?! A classified information?! Are you stupid?! – Nasu gritted his teeth, feeling a little cornered and embarrassed.

But, when he did that, Karota finally noticed something. – Oh my… You are actually falling for her! Jeez, you males are all the same! You can’t think properly with your true head when there’s blood running down there, can you?! For fuck sake, what a bunch of morons! – she said with a really irritated tone. Nasu roared in response and gazed away from her. – I’ve decided. She is going. And I trust her to be true to her word! – his tone was rather stubborn and Karota noticed that she wouldn’t get anywhere with him. The hybrid saiyaness snorted and folded her arms too, gazing away from him. – Fine! Do whatever you want to please your girlfriend! – Nasu was about to scream at her when she said Leena was his girlfriend, but Karota was faster. – But if she goes full Komatsu and screws this up, I will be holding it against you, Nasu! You hear me?! – she roared at him, getting up from her chair in a single instant. Nasu stared back at her with an angered expression and hmphed. – She won’t screw up! – and now was Karota’s turn to hmph to him.

Then, the older hybrid saiyaness and Colonel of the Alliance walked away from the room, ending that conversation. Save from the final part, it was a quite productive meeting. Right now Nasu was feeling quite embarrassed by the implications Karota made about him and Leena, but he wouldn’t give it much thought, instead, he was about to get ready for some serious training. He had a new goal in his mind: achieving the mighty Super Saiyan Two form.
