Nareli was sitting atop Z-Sword rock in deep meditation, making use of her telepathy to watch many places. Not all at the same time, of course. It was sort of like a security guard meant to watch the cameras. She could watch Mar, Rumia, Yemma, the living world.. all that fun stuff. Strangely enough she couldn't seem to stick her nose in Makaii's busines.. Fair enough, the demons probably didn't want the Kai's sticking their noses in their weird demon-y businses. 'Maybe they're up to no good..' She thought to herself. Maybe they had captured North? Perhaps even South.. It would be a good reason she hadn't seen them. Nareli had to shake her head at herself. 'Ridiculous. The demon queen would not do something so foolish. She would not kidnap a supreme kaioshin. A normal shinjin? Maybe.. But not a supreme.' The grand supreme would then sigh, trying to remain in a state of utter calm to keep her meditation flowing. 'If they wanted a supreme kaioshi, they would go for the grand one.. and they had at least seventy thousand years to do so. That would've been more than enough time to locate that hidden castle out in that never-ending expanse of yellow clouds. Of course, they would have her guards to go through. As well as the King Kai if they were to make their approach obvious. Demons were a sneaky bunch, though. So that would be unlikely. Those guards though.. They were frightening, to say the least. They hadn't followed her back originally, but after a day they had shown up again. Now, they had taken to guarding the upper worlds in general and not so much exclusively Nareli.
The leader of these guards by far was the most fearsome among them.. He towered over most things and people. More than two times the size of Nareli, and she was tall for that of a female Kaioshin. This probably made him just over ten feet tall. And at times, it was incredibly intimidating. It didn't help that he literally never said anything. 'Well.. It's like I said, we could use more security anyway. They aren't nearly as strong as a guardian could be, but I suppose they'll do until we can get this guardian thing sorted out.' That was when it hit her like a truck. The thing she had been searching for an entire time. Her eyes shot open and excitement rose up in her chest causing her to flash an impossibly large smile at no one in particular. "At last, you've arrived!" The goddess exclaimed happily as she sprang up to her feet and shot for the ledge of the Z Sword rock.
With obscene grace for one so childishly excited, Nareli leapt off the rock with her arms spread. The way she flew was unlike the standard method. Whereas one would simply flare their aura and shoot off into the distance, Nareli allowed herself to glide. The wind carried her, only enhancing the grace she already possessed. For someone not a wind elemi, the wind would carry her just as if she were one. 'I'mma comin' for ya snakey, just you wait!' Nareli would cheer as her search for her future guardian began. Various visions had foretold of the Slithris's arrival, and of what great potential said snake lady held. She definitely wasn't a super saiyan three by any means, but Nareli knew who she wanted for a guardian for a long, long time. Longer than one would expect, really.
Serapheena gave herself a sigh, her hands placed on her hips as her cheeks puffed up. "Those darn humans...I died because of them, I can't even believe this!!" She poutedly...An admittedly strange reaction to dying compared to absolute despair, or peace like some displayed. "Ouuughhh if that human thief had gone to heaven instead of hell, I would have killed him a second time! This truly angers me quite a lot! In fact I may just go down there and-Wh...What is that noise??" She scanned the area frantically, this whole new world had been beyond odd for her.
She turned around to see...Nareli flying her way. "Th...That is quite a strong being! I do hope they didn't hear those remarks...Even if they were true!" She tried to slither out of the way as the slow...Yet somehow also fast approaching Kai was heading right towards her! But alas, this snake is one that was defeated by the kai's power...
...As said kai collided with her, knocking her onto the ground with a thud. "oof." She sat there for a moment, silently examining the girl now on top of her. She was powerful, that was Serapheena's first observation. The second thing she noticed was just how...Small, and admittedly adorable this girl was.
"...And what may I ask is your business here? I haven't seen another being for some time now, only that big loud red man with the terrible attitude." She gave a hearty laugh at her description of Yemma, seeming somewhat proud of herself in an almost innocent way. It was perhaps...Adorable despite how big Serapheena was. And boy was she ever. She stood up, carefully lifting Nareli up and setting her aside, brushing herself off. She towered above the grand kai, there was no doubt about that much.
"I would assume you are an inhabitant of these...Upper worlds, as they are called? Perhaps a natural inhabitant as well, I could not feel the energies of those who stood behind me as I was judged. ... I cannot feel my own energy, come to think of it. This...Afterlife thing is difficult. I have not even seen the grand Princess Snake! The one fabled by our people! I thought perhaps that would bring some joy, but even this escapes me. I am...Saddened I have failed my people, and I no longer have a purpose, even as grand as the afterlife should be, these simple things escape me, I cannot rest knowing my guardian skills have been wasted, not even useful against one man, an average human at that. Perhaps you...Can show me some clarity, though...I fear you, strange one. You are far above myself, even as I was in life. If your intentions are impure, I would most certainly be unable to stop you." She says, crossing her arms, she spoke rather properly, though her tone hardly shifted much, staying rather normal, as if despite what she said, she simply accepted things as they were dealt to her.
Of course, the grand supreme had planned her course near perfectly. Sailing right into the slithris and landing on top of her just as she had intended! Nareli placed her hands on the snake woman's stomach and sat up. Obviously, it would seem like she were trying to straddle her. But this was far from her actual intentions. While Serapheena was examining the grand supreme, Nareli was examining her just as well. Just with her appearance the snake woman had proven to be everything Nareli was looking for in her choice of guardian.. Physically speaking, of course. Her favorite trait was Serapheena's height. To be fair, she was quite short in comparison to most living races, so it would not have been hard to find a tall person to be her guardian. But Serapheena.. She straight up towered over her. And she absolutely loved it.
She smiled like a big goof the entire time, even as the snake woman picked her up and set her to the side. "Mmyyy business, ay?" Nareli giggled and wiggled happily in place: Swinging her arms back and forth slowly. Serapheena's description of King Yemma only made her laugh even more. "Yeah, he yells a lot. But he's the most qualified for his job! He didn't get it just by screamin' at people.. As hard as that may be to believe for you~." Nareli would joke about the big red man as well. Now that the two were actually standing up, Nareli could get a better look at just how tall the snake woman was.. and it made her even happier! Yes, it was a strange quality to look for in a guardian, and she more than likely could've gone for a super saiyan three. But she knew what she wanted She wanted Serapheena. Nothing would change her mind on this.
Taking hold of one of Serapheena's hands, Nareli held onto it and looked into the snake woman's eyes as she spoke very calmly. "I know what it is you've done. I know what it is that brought you here, and why the unseen forces above even the Kaioshin's power have given you a body. This meeting of ours was destined from the very beginning, and it may be against the rules for me to tell you.. But I aim to have you as my guardian, so you get to know everything! Any questions at all, and I can provide answers~." Nareli then smiled brightly. "I'm the Grand Supreme Kaioshin, after all! Knowing everything is in the job description! But if it's joy and not answers you seek, I can provide that as well. Just tell me what you want and I'll give it to you." The Grand Supreme Kaioshin spoke in a calm, but extremely friendly tone.
"I do not pity you. You are a warrior, and thus I shall respect you as one. You've fought loyally in life, and that shall continue in this very life that comes after. How does that sound? Would you like to be my guardian? Not as a subject, or a servant. But as an equal. Side by side. Neither one aboev the other. Princess Snake.. The snake woman you spoke of is not nearly as grand as you may think. I personally don't like her. But if you would rather serve under her, I would gladly take you to her." It would sadden Nareli greatly to see Serapheena go to serve under such a disgusting woman. But if its what made the Slithris happy then she would not try to stop it.
Serapheena couldn't help but let out a small laugh as Nareli joked with her as well. This woman was proving amusing if nothing else, and Serapheena quite liked that, even if she were...Admittedly quite serious at times, perhaps teasing and relaxing was not so bad now and again. Even if she was not exactly the best at conversing, she seemed...More relaxed, perhaps it was this girl's atmosphere she had about her. Serpaheena couldn't exactly explain it to be honest, only that she just DID have that going for her...Her normally naturally programmed Xenophobia seemed distant, as if non-existent right now.
Of course, she blushed lightly as Nareli took hold of her hand. She wasn't entirely sure what to think of this action, though disliking it was one thing she knew wasn't the case. More like she was just unsure of it. Though the fact that she knew all about Serapheena's life, her goals, her accomplisments...This must have been a divine being for understanding like that. It was the only answer Serapheena could assume, whether she knew it or not...Sadly it was no more than an assumption. Serapheena had never met a divine being, The Lord of Scales was the closest she had ever come, and even her grace was not godlike.
"I would perhaps introduce myself...However I feel as though perhaps you already know my name, as you know where I have come from, and the path in life I have walked." She paused for a moment. "However, it is you I do not know. I have walked many paths in life, but I have not crossed with one who feels divine such as yourself. Perhaps...You have a name?" She asked calmly, legitimately curious of such things. If Nareli was interested in taking her in, knowing her name would be useful.
Serapheena smiled more as Nareli spoke, somewhat proud, but not annoyingly so, more grateful really. "You understand what I am! And to respect me in such a way...To even offer a new position such as that? It...Sounds very odd...I have lived my entire life serving someone, as their underling, not as their equal, it would take some getting used to, but..." She thought things over...Even if Princess Snake wasn't so bad...Was that really a better choice than with this girl? The one who was already respecting her from moment one?
...Serapheena gave a firm nod. "I will serve loyally as your Guardian if you will have me. Princess Snake shall simply have to go without seeing one she had given life to. Perhaps she was not so great anyway, much as you said. I will...Need training however...it seems my training, though good, was insufficient against certain evildoers. Perhaps one such as yourself can provide a great training regiment...You seem quite capable!" Serapheena puffed out her chest...Oddly, she seemed proud of Nareli, not of herself. As if acting prideful in Nareli's stead. She was certainly an amusing woman, if nothing else. Indeed it could be said as such.
Would it have been wrong of her to feel happy for bringing some color to Pheena's cheeks? Surely not. As she said, she only wanted to see the snake woman happy and would do anything to provide it. Death had most likely proven to be a depressing experience; one usually reflected on the things they did and didn't do and that reflection could soon turn to self-loathing. "You aren't a failure, you know. You lived your life the way you saw fit and for that I personally commend you." Nareli blurted out. As off subject as it seemed, she didn't want Serapheena beating herself up internally. It would've been easier for her to check considering the physical contact, but that would've been an invasion of privacy if she were to do it without the snake woman's explicit permission.
"I do know you.. Or at least what you've been through. You've been my favorite for awhile now~. It sounds very creepy, but try to understand it gets quite lonely being a Kaioshin. Especially when you have to be locked up in a castle deep in hibernation with no one to talk to." Nareli looked saddened just talking about her deep hibernation. It was.. honestly horrible, but she knew it was for the good of everyone. It was over now though, and now she was with the Slitheris she had been watching for years without end. It had more than made up for it. Nareli shook her head as she realized that how she spoke could very well make her come off as if she were some lovesick creeper. 'I'm getting a bit ahead of myself..'
Taking a deep breath, Grandy took a second to recompose herself. Gripping Serapheena's hand a tad bit tighter, she looked up at the snake woman. "My name is Nareli! Friends call me Grand or Grandy.. But I like Nareli." Nareli hadn't explicitly said why she liked to use Nareli more, but it was just that it made her feel cuter and or prettier in a strange way. Not everyone liked their own name, but Nareli loved hers. Serapheena's name was pretty too, in her opinion. Very fitting for a lady of her stature. "Your name is very nice too, Serapheena. It really fits you."
"Hmm.. Well, the choice is simple." Nareli didn't want to have to pull such a dirty trick but, dammit.. She didn't want to let this one get away. She didn't want to keep on being alone. Nareli would hold Serapheena's hand in both of her own, basically holding the hand to her chest while she looked the snake lady in the eyes. There was more to the grand Kai than just a small body. She was adorable, and she was going to use that to her advantage. Her eyes were beautiful, too. The same light blue as her hair but with more of a shine to them. "Me, or this?" And as she said 'this' she would project the image of Princess Snake showing her true colors. Scary red eyes, greenish-blue skin that wasn't even of a pleasant shade, and that messy orange.. afro thing, or whatever it was, clashing hard with the aforementioned greenish-blue. On top of that she would show that creepy perverted woman trying to force Goku to stay with her. Of course it was a projection of her memories, but even in the last few hundred years not much had changed.
It didn't seem like there was any need for that though as the snake woman was quick to say yes- which proved to be really embarrassing. At least she hadn't done anything.. 'inappropriate' to try and keep Serapheena. That was the only way it could've been worse. "Uh.. y..yeah, I can train you." Nareli nodded, her cheeks becoming a little red. She was embarrassed for two reasons: The first was that she had used a dirty trick, and the second was that the dirty trick wasn't necessary. On the upside, a blushing face could only serve to make her cuter.
Serapheena's eyes widened. "A grand being such as yourself...Taking notice of my own exploits. I would be impressed if not for the fact that I was indeed told of something similar by my old master. She told me of the visions when I was but a small child...Of how divine beings from the sky were watching my exploits, of how I was destined to be a warrior of divinity...This is the origin of my name, my people's history carries that all Divinely blessed warriors carry the name "Serapheena", of which I have been chosen as the next successor to carry this name...Though I perhaps have already wasted it in life."
She clears her throat awkwardly, looking around. Of course, she ended up giving an explination behind her name unintentionally, just as Nareli had complimented it. "Nareli...What a lovely name." She smiled, looking down at her newfound companion. "It seems befitting of a divinity such as yourself." Though, then she showed Serapheena the...Truth behind Princess Snake, quite a dishonorable one. She shut her eyes, crossing her arms. "My entire life I have been led to believe that she was a divine being, be it true or not, I suppose...She is more liken to a devil in disguise than a divine creator and protector."
She grinned to herself. "Very well then! If you desire us to be equals, I shall have to work my hardest, I will not fail this vision of us you seek. I am...Concerned for the well being of my people, and of my master. But I know she is one such seer capable of witnessing me here, of knowing that I have taken on new meaning. Certainly if they are ever in danger, I know someone somewhere may protect them. Even if not myself."
Though on closer inspection...Nareli was even more adorable. The way she seemed embarrassed...The way her face turned a light shade of red...Serapheena's own face showed a blush...Though she shook her head, pulling herself out of the trance-like moment she was unknowingly in, there was no time for...Whatever that was! For now, she had to train! "I am ready for your teachings. Where are we to start first? Weaponry? Defense? Meditation? Perhaps some new method I have yet to explore, one that would require newfound skill on my part. You are the teacher, and I the pupil."
She slithered about, looking off the edge of where they were standing, thinking things over as she did so. Just what was this new arrangement to entail for her? What exactly would she do as a guardian? It would certainly be different than her old guardian job was, given she was now being treated as an equal, something...She was not used to, respectfully, she always accepted her place as a warrior, a guardian, nothing else than these things, Slithris hierarchy was always...Limiting, but not in a terrible way, but certainly being here had opened her eyes in so many ways already.
"Death was only the beginning for you, Serapheena. That's not to say your life was for nothing.. Had you turned out evil you would not be here speaking to me right now." Nareli would reassure the snake woman. "Your seer wasn't wrong. Didn't seem like they had any real detail, but you were destined to be here with me. Though contrary to what one might believe, destiny can easily be defied. You could've denied me completely and gone off to live with that.. vile snake princess." Nareli once again shuddered at the thought of her. Still.. she made for a decent trial for those running snake way. At least that disgusting woman had that much use.
Nareli shook her head, holding the urge to giggle like an idiot. "Good grief, you're embarrassing me with all that divinity stuff.." Though she wouldn't giggle like a doof, she sure would smile like one. It was really hard not to. Serapheena was already perfect, and Nareli loved the way the snake woman complimented her. She just wasn't used to such things. Seventy thousand years in a castle was bound to make someone at least somewhat socially awkward. The goddess shook her head- maybe now wasn't the time to be messing around if Serapheena wished to get right to the training.
It was probably best.. The Slitheris had a high bar set for her, and she needed to reach it as soon as possible otherwise this guardian role would be pointless. "Wellll.. I suppose I could teach you a technique! Or at least try to. It's a classic little sword technique my old master taught me. Fortunately, it doesn't seem like we'll have to change location. The upper worlds has plenty of planets that lack inhabitants, so we can start here if you would like!" Nareli was eager to get to training as well as she realized just how much room there was for Serapheena to grow. If she had her way, Serapheena would definitely make for an amazing first line of defense. One that could potentially be unpenetrable.
"Sword fighting is my preferred means of combat- it's elegant, and there's a lot of skill behind it. That's not to say fighting with your fists isn't skillful or anything, but.. I can't look pretty when I'm punching something so that won't do!" Nareli would back off from the snake woman and draw her sword from seemingly thin air. Like her, the weapon seemed very delicate, but also unlike her it also seemed very sharp. "Don't worry- I'm not gonna actually strike you this time. You're gonna be the one hitting me!" As dangerous as such a declaration seemed considering how delicate she had been mentioned to be, Nareli was still far stronger than Serapheena in terms of power. The snake woman would have to really really try if she wanted to hurt Nareli.
