To succumb to corruption is the fate of a demon. Such a horrible fate was guaranteed- however, for Kagari, there was a means of avoiding this and spitting in the face of destiny. If Kagari had a goal- a purpose she could have faith in, she would never give in to her dark urges. However, as flame rises, so does it fade. Such is the way of things. Light cannot exist without shadow, just as good cannot exist without evil. Most living things are bound by these principles. Ever since man and other such races has existed, there has been good and evil. But before even life, light and shadow existed. Even now it exists within all beings- animate, inanimate.. everything. Everything can have a lightness or a darkness to it. Very few things are not bound by the aforementioned principles.
However, in the face of great inevitable evil, some choose to go against what is destined by sacrificing themselves for a greater good. Putting all living and non-living beings back on the same course. Repeating the cycle of good and evil, light and shadow. Ages of peace and ages of war. These things are inevitable in order to keep things in constant balance. Sometimes, such a cycle applies to people as well. Not just the galaxy as a whole. This is something that very much applied to people like Kagari. She may be good and pure of heart now, but soon enough an 'age of war' will come. One that will shake her to her very foundations and force her to decide if she will rekindle this ever-dying flame and put all living beings back on the inevitable course towards an age of darkness, or succumb to her own inner evils to help those that she loves.
She would not be the first to make such a choice. There have been others forced to make decisions that could change, or had changed the course of destiny. It would not be so rare of an occurrence as one may think. Sometimes, people make such choices without even knowing the implications or consequences. But Kagari knew for a fact.. if she were to ever become what she despised most, she would be something of a force to be reckoned with. One not even the grand supreme kai or even the demon queen herself could comprehend. A tempting level of power, no? No. Not at all. Not even slightly tempting for Kagari. Such a power came with a great cost, and power is not the sort of thing she sought after.
Kagari sought after love, and fame. She wished to be a hero and not a villain. Rumia had offered her a job that could very well fulfill her dreams. Sure, she might go unnoticed even still, but if she were a hero to even just one person.. She would be satisfied. If she were seen as some famous hero to Rumia and Rumia alone, she could die happy. Not that it would matter if she were to die. The fire elemi would always have the western supreme kai. This gave the girl purpose.. a meaning to life. With that, she would never ever succumb to the darkness. There would be no need for that.. Unless someone were to hurt Rumia?
What sort of heartless being could do such a thing, though? What horrible person could and or would draw out such deep-rooted darkness from within Kagari? Well, no one really. No one yet knew of it aside from Rumia. The only way to learn of it would to be to get into Kagari's head and search for it.. search real deep.
Even with such deep rooted darkness, and such a strong light surrounding it to keep it at bay within the demoness, Kagari still could not avoid the principles of light and shadow. One could not simply turn their back on light and darkness.. even if they could, it would be some terribly risky business. Avoiding both paths entirely would just leave her with no purpose and thus force her into corruption, no? Maybe- maybe not, only time would tell.
