Mastering the Soy Arts (Flashback)

Nasu had a very important meeting to attend, a meeting that could seal the fate in between two factions that had been in war against each other since the Alliance was created; the old Saiyan Empire, now named Cerulean Empire, and the Saiyan Alliance. Karota had settled this meeting and the ones chosen to go there were obviously Nasu, as the ultimate representative of the Alliance, General Miso, Colonel Karota and the new asset of the Alliance, Sergeant Leena. Nasu wished he could take others, such as Komatsu and Jie Shan, but Karota and Miso advised him otherwise; it was important to have strong people capable of defending the Saiyan Alliance and the Planet while the strongest were away, and Jie Shan, together with Komatsu, were the best the Alliance had, after the triumvirate composed by Nasu, Miso and Karota. But, to make sure things would be absolutely safe, Jie Shan needed to finish his training; due to a little misunderstanding in between Komatsu and Miso, his training was stopped and only Komatsu managed to finish the training under the Soy School.

When Nasu arrived at the Soy Training Hall, Jie Shan was already there, diligent as ever, and that made the Overseer crack a subtle grin; Nasu was sporting a new outfit, letting go of his traditional battle suit with shoulder and tight guards to a more basic set. One thing, however, could be noticed: Nasu had one of saiyan’s characteristic growth spur after his 21 years old birthday, that wasn’t even celebrated due to the tension they were in, with this possible meeting. He seemed much bulkier than before, and his power was ever rising; there was really no telling just how strong Nasu would become in the future, but he would definitely be among the strongest in the universe.

– You are already here. That’s good. I want to finish you training today. – he said, pausing briefly. – You will be in charge of the Alliance with Counselor Kyuri for a couple days while we go on a peace mission with… Guess what! – he paused again briefly, to let him wonder for a while before ending the mystery. – With the Saiyan Empire!... Or what it used to be… It’s now called Cerulean Empire or whatever. – he said, shrugging a bit.

– I know you won’t let me down, Counselor. – Nasu immediately replied to him, chuckling lightly. Then, when he spoke about mastering the Soy School, Nasu nodded. – Indeed. I need you to be on top form for the brief period when most of us are going to be absent. But, before mastering the Soy School with the two final techniques I will be teaching you, I want to help you master the super saiyan form. - and he paused for a second. – I recall you mastered the Second Grade. Well… Like I’ve said before, there’s the Third Grade stage that Miso showed you last time, but I don’t think it’s useful in the end. You become way too vulnerable in a fight and it really doesn’t compensate with the increase in power. In the end, the best option, in my opinion, is balance. And, therefore, the Super Saiyan Full Power, while not as strong as the Third Grade in raw power, it’s effective both as an enhancement of the normal Super Saiyan form, while also granting a major bonus. – and he paused once again. – The stamina isn’t drained at all while using that form, to the point that, considering you can master it, you will even be able to sleep using the form. – Nasu explained.

Then, he turned his back to Jie Shan and slowly walked towards the middle of the arena of the Soy Training Hall before turning back to him. – For that you need a perfect control of your ki energy. Being able to sense and suppress are basics to attain this form. With that in mind, tap into your core and reach the point of equilibrium before forcing your body to increase your power and, as consequence, transform. – and, after saying that, Nasu folded his arms and went silent, waiting for the hybrid to try ascending to the fully powered super saiyan form.

Nasu chuckled a bit when he spoke about how odd it was that, in order to become a super saiyan they needed an absurd amount of rage, and, in an opposite spectrum, to attain control over it, they needed control and peace. Then, once he said it was a waste of time to talk about those things, Nasu just shook his head. – It’s not a waste of time. It’s actually quite important in order to understand how this world works. You see… I was but an angry fool all the time before I took the burden of the Alliance onto my shoulders. To lose some of my rage made my mind clearer and now I’m far more cunning than I used to be. – he admitted and, once he had finished saying that, he watched as the hybrid tried to reach that power. Jie Shan’s potential was remarkable and, with little difficulty he managed to ascend past his Second Grade form, reaching the mastered power of the legendary golden transformation of the saiyan race. Nasu chuckled lightly and nodded when he asked if it was like this; it was definitely a rhetorical question that needed no answer.

– Because super saiyan form, while uncontrolled takes away most of our intelligence due to the emotions. We can’t really think completely clear, other than about combat tactics and techniques. – and that was at least his own experience with it. After that, he asked what they would be doing now and even jokes, showing just how confident he was with this new form. Nasu chuckled lightly again and, effortlessly, he made his hair spiked and light gold in color and his eyes teal as he ascended to the very same form the hybrid was using.

[Super Saiyan Full Power. Current Power Level: 4,000,000]

Once he transformed, Nasu chuckled again. – You are indeed growing stronger. It’s a shame. I hoped I would still be twice more powerful than you when I transformed, but I guess a little over a fourth will have to be enough, hahaha! – Nasu laughed in the end, as he slid to his Soy School stance. – Now… Let’s see test your power a little bit! – he exclaimed and, without wasting any more time, Nasu flared his bright golden aura around his body and charged forwards, aiming to throw a knee strike to Jie Shan’s guts.

Jie Shan said that he wasn’t holding back this time and that was good. In fact, it was pretty much the first real opportunity for Nasu to fight him without those annoying weights and that was pretty good. The Saiyan Overseer didn’t really waste any time and tried to hit the hybrid counselor with a powerful knee strike to his guts, but Jie Shan reacted rather quickly and used his Rapid Movement skill in order to fully dodge Nasu’s attack by a large margin, moving about three times faster than Nasu’s attack, showing he had indeed improve: Nasu wasn’t really holding back now, despite using his regular melee prowess to try and hit Jie. ”Swift move… This guy is improving!” he thought to himself, feeling rather proud of his student’s accomplishment.

Then, he spoke, revealing what he had done; not that Nasu didn’t already know, and that made the Overseer chuckle quite a bit and, without wasting any time, Nasu turned around quickly while moving his hips in a spinning motion, using his right heel to try and hit him in the side of the ribs, aiming to cause some serious damage. Of course he could still dodge again, but Nasu didn’t mind it all that much. – I didn’t fail to notice that, Lieutenant Colonel, but… How long can you keep up with that speed?! Hehehe! I see you breaking a sweat already, and I’m not going to go easy on you if you get winded! – Nasu warned him, but it was clear in his expression that he was having tons of fun with this little spar so far.

Nasu’s attack was precise and fast and Jie Shan barely had a window to react to it. The spinning kick hit right at its destined target, the hybrid’s ribs’ side and made him cough, but, still, he grinned, showing he still had plenty of fight inside of him and Nasu liked that. He also said that it wasn’t a bad move, and that he was just getting started and that made Nasu laugh out loud while his cocky grin became a very conceited smirk.

– Hahahaha! I was about to get bored, Lieutenant Colonel… But… Let’s see how you fare against the pinnacle of the Soy School martial arts… It’s time! – he exclaimed in the end, flaring his ki aura even brighter. Nasu clenched both his fists as he watched his opponent. Jie Shan, on the other hand, jumped at him with a very straightforward sort of attack, aiming to hit him with a kick to the chest. Nasu just quickly side stepped, completely avoiding that attack, and then he started it. – Final Revenger! – he exclaimed, almost as if he was announcing the attack to come. Nasu would then charge against Jie Shan, aiming to throw a powerful punch right at his face.

No matter the result of this initial assault, he would immediately reverse kick the hybrid high into the air and, if that worked, Nasu would follow quickly, soaring after him to further punch him up into the air again. Then, he would use all of his available speed and skill to catch up to him and grab his head and leap over behind him to knee strike his kidney, inflicting both huge pain as well as further launching him high into the air. Finally, if all worked out, he would use the superior speed to fly above him and double axe handle punch him down to the titled floor below, with the goal of inflicting huge amount of damage. If Nasu’s calculations were correct, although severely injured, Jie Shan would still be able to fight after such an assault.

Nasu’s attack connected and, within every hit, he could feel Jie Shan’s body crumbling to his injuries. In the end, it was actually surprising he managed to get back to his feet, although Nasu had calculated and concluded he could. ”Hm… He is truly resilient. Good. Means I gave him proper credit.” he realized with some pride towards his own analytic skills. When the hybrid warrior finally managed to get back on his feet, Nasu had also landed in the titled floor in front of him, just a handful of feet away. Jie Shan said that he did a number on him and that made Nasu chuckle a bit. – That’s the power of the Soy School, but I still have one more secret to share once I can attest for sure that you’ve learned it! The Final Revengers uses every principle of the attacking pattern of our school so, if you can do it, then you’ve polished your skill enough to be considered an advanced student and almost graduate! – Nasu explained to him. – And good you are not going down. We are no wear near finished yet! – he added, chuckling a tad bit more.

And then, once Nasu finished speaking, Jie Shan launched himself towards him, screaming the name of the Technique. Nasu’s smirk widened as he quickly reacted in order to block the initial assault by crossing his forearms in front of his face. Jie’s punch connected to it, but Nasu fully blocked that part of the damage. Still, his reverse kick was way too fast for him to react properly now, and Nasu just grimaced a bit as he was hit and sent flying. The Final Revenger was perfect for leaving an opponent with his guard wide open and, before he could react, Jie Shan further punched him and then was already grabbing his head and knee striking his kidneys, making Nasu grunt and grimace. His expression changed to a much more serious one, as he quickly spun around in an attempt to block the double axe attack, which he just barely did.

Nasu was thrown to the titled floor with a lot of force and, once he hit the ground, he created a large crater, destroying a part of it. The damage was considerable and his battle suit had cracked all over it. When he got back, there was blood coming out of his mouth and he spit a heavy load of it and then cleaned the rest with the back of his white glove. The Overseer stared at the Lieutenant Colonel with a serious expression and spoke.

– Good. You mastered it. And it hurt. You are indeed improving. – he said. ”And I truly need to evolve, otherwise he and Komatsu will catch up with me! They are getting dangerously close.” he thought to himself, with a bit of concern in his mind, but not too much. Nasu exhaled a bit and spoke once again. – Catch your breath. It’s time to show you the ultimate skill of the Soy School, but you will need to have enough strength to use that. – he warned him and, with that, he folded his arms. Nasu’s breath was slowing down as he recovered from the little tiredness too.

Nasu nodded when Jie Shan asked him to talk about this ultimate skill, and that also made Nasu crack a subtle grin; he was really proud of the technique his father was able to develop, and the way it worked in a much more interesting than most of the ultimate techniques people would develop. Nasu chuckled a bit too before starting speaking.

– Its name is Spirit of the Saiyans and it’s not a technique that can be used by itself. No. Instead, it is a way to absurdly increase the power of any technique you might use. – he started. – Whenever you focus your inner power, allowing yourself to feel the bonds with your saiyan comrades, you will be able to summon a hidden power that comes from both our saiyan blood and the bonds only true battle comrades can have. The more allies you have fighting by your side, or just cheering on you, the better. This surge of power comes in the form of a teal-colored energy that takes over your attack, in the same tone as the super saiyan’s eye color. – he added, chuckling a bit more. – Also, you will feel like the Great Ape in you is awakening the moment you fire it. It’s truly something out of ordinary, but words are not worthy to fully describe it. You will feel it soon enough. – Nasu said as he waited for the hybrid super saiyan to recover his stamina.

Nasu, on the other hand, seemed to be fully recovered from his earlier assault, despite the injuries he held on his body.
