The Clouds Gather (Melonia)

Jie Shan felt the warrior approach before she entered the compound. She did not make a habit of hiding her power, he noted. Or at least he did not think she did. She could just as easily be concealing her true power. He supposed it did not matter. The power he felt was certainly higher than average. And he could work with that. If he had his way with their training, she'd quickly rise above average. She arrived, and Jie Shan finally saw her.

'Not bad'. Those were the hybrid's first thoughts. Not bad at all. She was certainly a looker, he thought, and hopefully she fought as well as she looked. And she was cheery. Services or a date? Jie Shan smirked. Well, at least she was not deadpan. The Counselor could work with that. He had never quite liked sticks in the mud.

"No," he said, rising to greet her. His tail unfurled as he stood. He stretched it a moment before wrapping it around his waste. "No date," he continued, "At least not until we're better acquainted." He chuckled at his own joke and his smirk grew wider.

"I'm not sure how much my people told you," said Jie Shan, "But I've been working on putting together a special squad, in order to better assist the Saiyan Alliance. My dream is to gather warriors from all across the universe and make them into something special. I ordered my people to look for individuals with potential, and you were one of the first names to come back."

Jie Shan paced around, focusing, still trying to assess the woman's power. "And while your power might not be that impressive right now, you were chosen for a reason. I think that if you were to work with me, we could turn you into something special, something the people of the Alliance could look up to."

He came to a sudden standstill. The halfblood warrior looked her straight in the eye as he finished his speech. "So, what do you say?"

Jie Shan smirked. No, he thought, certainly not little. But that certainly was not what he meant. For just a brief moment, he considered flirting back. But no, he reminded himself, he was going to be all business for now. He needed to remain professional, at least for the time being. It was only befitting of a Counselor of the Saiyan Alliance.

But he was glad that the woman was eager to join his squad. One down, he thought, many more to go. But it would make for a decent start, especially while Rudieri searched far and wide for other individuals to add to their squad. But for now, he would have to train Melonia, get her up to speed. Jie Shan knew just how strong their enemies were and could grow to be. They needed to be strong. And the best way to do that, was full on training. Perhaps he could even get the Overseer to train her in the Soy Martial Arts.

"Training will begin tomorrow," he said, his voice firm, "You should take the rest of the day to rest and gather your strength. Trust me, with what I have in mind, you'll need to be fully rested. And then some."

He laughed and shook his head. Hopefully, she could handle enhanced gravity. He looked at her, serious once again. "So, any questions? Or do you have anything to say?"

Jie Shan raised an eyebrow in surprise. Disappointment? Well, he could scarcely blame the woman. She was, after all, a full blooded Saiyan. He should expect nothing less. The pure bred Saiyan were cut from a slightly different cloth than himself. Perhaps a bit stubborn and hardheaded, but they certainly had a kind of headstrong-ness about him that he appreciated. They made for great soldiers, and that was what Jie Shan needed.

She made a solid point. He'd do poorly as a leader to send her away after such a brisk meeting. He thought to himself, imagining the Lan Dian compound in his mind. He'd need to expand it, perhaps create barracks specially made for his squad. His father kept quarters for his own guards. Jie Shan could do the same. For now, though, one of the guest rooms would do. "Hmm, yes, I suppose we can find something for you," said Jie Shan, "I'll have one of the soliders show you to a guest room after this. I'm sure you'll find it suitable. When my father built the compound, he certainly had the finer things in mind."

Jie Shan did not move as the woman drew herself around him. He did not mind it, not at all. In fact, once upon a time, he'd have embraced it. But he was a Counselor now. He could not embrace people all willy-nilly. He needed to be respectable.... At least for a time. As she kissed his cheek, he smirked. Women, he thought, how they drove him mad as of late. He'd certainly been drowning in feminine attention since his very public Super Saiyan ascension. And he could get used to it.

"Well, aren't you friendly?" He said, his voice teasing, "General Miso would like you, heh. The Overseer as well, probably."

Jie Shan stepped back from her and assessed her one more time. Not bad, he confirmed. "But that's a subject for another time. Somebody get in here!"

As he shouted his order, a door slid open immediately and a soldier stepped out. The Saiyan man saluted Jie Shan, looking between him and the newcomer Saiyaness. "Sir?" He asked.

"Soldier," began Jie Shan, "Go ahead and show Melonia here to one of the guest rooms. And make sure she's taken care of."

"Aye, sir!" Shouted the soldier.

Jie Shan turned his eyes back on Melonia, "If there's nothing else, feel free to follow the soldier. I look forward to tomorrow. I have a good feeling about this."
