The garage was large and filled full of various machines. Being so late at night though, there wasn’t much of anyone around. In fact it doesn’t seem people come into this large garage much at all besides the young flame currently in it. Most of the lights were out at the moment as only a few overhangs lit the surrounding area Flare was in. Various cars and other machines were in the shadows not lit, but what was near Flare would be in full view; blocky robots. Several of them, a couple with their parts astrewn as the elemi worked on them. It was a slow night at the Jefferson house. The fact she lived alone in such a large home, only accompanied by robots, probably sounds a lot worse than what it actually is. Rather than bother with socializing with them, most of the time she’s found in this large garage, doing what she was doing now.
“Jax, run a diagnostics on internal integrity before I seal him up.” the elemi reared on back from her crouch, a large torch in her hand. She had her goggles over her eyes to protect herself. Her whole face was covered in dirt and grease. Her hands becoming no exception. “Want to make sure the board’s stable with so many fast moving parts in him before I seal it.” The little robot was right next to her, blinking into the open back of the robot she was working on. His little antenna beeped once before he turned to her.
“No signs of possible fractures of scratches that can lead to anywhere above recommended abrasion. There is a small soldering gap located 12, -5, 0 in the board, however. There is no immediate threat, but it can cause unneeded pressure on other sections of the soldering joint.” Flare didn’t question the mapping as she dug on in to locate the tiny error in her board soldering.
“Soldering iron.” She went ahead and asked for it, and recieved it quickly from her helper as she leaned back into the opening. It took but a few seconds to get to where Jax found the back solder job at. Sparks flew as the small fix was applied to the board inside the robot. Again she reared back and allowed Jax to get at it again with sensors. The robot nodded once. “It’ll be ‘good’ now, I think is the word for it.”
“Yes, Jax. That’d be right.” She smirked from under her goggles and went ahead to stand up. Now was for the closing of the back. A simple metal frame that matched the blocky exterior of the bot worked well enough for what they were being used for. With some soldering, she’d start putting bolts on its back. It was to be easy-access with a wrench, so she made it all seal with such bolts. Three for each side, placed before the plate was put on with pre-drilled holes. Now, to screw each bolt in and tightly secure the back plate. All of it went by rather quickly due to how fast she was. She stepped back to take a look at her 6’ mighty robot terror.
“Dare I say I’ve done a fantastic job on this?” She boated to herself as she gave the metal a smack. She rested that hand on it’s back while she used her free hand to raise her goggles off her eyes. Within a few seconds the little robot“Can you give me a towel hun?” was wobbling on back with a large towel, stretching his arm to make it reach up to her. Flare reaches on over to grab it and wipe off what grim from her face. She still looks far too messy after working on the same kind of robot five times in a row.
“Now it’s time to test them.” She said with a huff as she slung the towel away on a random table and pull a remote from her side pocket. “These battlebots will make nice little practice dummies.” With a push of a button the things came to life, red slits for eyes glowing as the mechanisms within them started humming. “I made these for training though. They’re made to deactivate once I punch through a shield.” All five of the robots suddenly locked their slit gazes onto her, readying their unique weapons up. Ready to dash, slash, and fire. She blinked at the controller and gave Jax a look as he took noticed the bots sudden aggression.
“Jax, we forgot the passive state. I thought we had the passive state installed. JAX.” She raised her voice at the innocent robot. She pressed the button hard again to shut them off right as one was about to shoot of blasts from an arm cannon. “Passive. State. Why did they default to aggressive state?”
“I cannot seem to detect where it could have gone wrong. I suggest that we look at the data on the boards.” She groaned and just rubbed her tired eyes. Flare didn’t seem to have much more lively capacity to continue working on them tonight. “No… not tonight, buddy. Tonight, we’re going to just finish testing out your own shields. Then hit the hay.” She stretched a little to this side, then that. Stretching every limb on her body. Jax waddled away from her at the cue of her stopping the stretch.
“Shields Online!” Flare yelled as command for the A.I. to remember what it should do in this situation as she balled her fists up. A roar of fire enveloped both of them as she started running at Jax. As fast as she could do so, she managed punching several fireballs at the robot. As luck would have it the visible blue shield popped around him with every hit. Absorbing it all with a very efficient result. One after another. She eventually pushed it harder, physically trying to punch the blasts into Jax. All the while, the robot just stood there with a curious expression about his robot face.
One swift kick underneath the shield sent enough force through to launch the little robot out into the air though, allowing for her to quickly follow up on the airborne Jax. With another swift punch she launched him back down into the open garage floor. The garage boomed with the crash of shield impacting the floor. Flare let herself back onto the floor easy from that, while Jax… Was dug a little into the ground. The robot was mostly unphased.
“Need to work on the size and your own body, but that’ll do for now, Jax.” She picked herself up with a straightened posture and yawned. Stretching again. “Clean up shop will ya? I’m taking a shower and head to bed!” The little robot just blinked up at the ceiling from his spot.
“Yes, Flare. I will.”
