Chris had found there was still quite a ways to go if he wanted to be able to catch up to the likes of Caesar and even his master. If he even wanted a chance of catching back up to their levels than he needed to get back to his training regime. He didn’t care how long it would take, but he would master this new strength he had been blessed with. Someone had decided he still had a life to live as a fighter. He wasn’t going to blow an opportunity like this away any longer. He was going to train as hard as he could. Until he could stop the major evil of this universe. His job would never be over, he would never become a writer until then.
Slowly he began to summon up the energy within himself. Focusing his ki into creating, he began to create training dummies in random spots around him. Some ranging from high up to very low. Still he wasn’t done, he began to manipulate more ki into some target dummies as well. This had pulled quite a bit of his energy but he wasn’t ready to stop. He still had the determination to finish this training. He didn’t care how much noise he might be making. He had to push himself faster and faster or else he was never going to be able to catch up to the others. Recently he had perfect a rather fast paced attack, but even though he knew the dangers of how much power it used he couldn’t help but try to push himself trying to go faster than before. He still was haunted by his failures of being too slow most of the time to catch up to the others.
Hours this would continue on, his left hand red from the constant use of this attack. Still his will wasn’t broken. Chris kept pushing himself to try harder and harder… ”I won’t let them beat me again...I will find her..” Chris would murmur to himself as his hand began to spark with the white ki with an outer black glow once more. His ki sparking around his hand like electricity jumping to any surface nearby. Surrounding him were hundreds of ruined dummies, in front of him now a wall made of a very very hard material. He had made it with his ki to be as tough as possible. Now he was going to break it. Letting out a very loud roar chris Charged at the wall with his hand outstretched as far as he possibly could as he ran towards the wall. As soon as he made collision however he slammed the ki into it, black ki electricity flying everywhere. However still he was charging at it. ”No...I can’t give up again..harder…” Chris would say as he floured more ki into his arm. He could feel his hand getting warmer even. However a small crack did appear in the wall… ”Harder!” Chris would say louder once more as he began to charge deeper into the wall..the cracks forming more and more. ”HARDER!! I WILL FIND HER NO MATTER WHAT WALLS I HAVE TO BREAK!” Chris shouted as he slammed as much of his ki as he could into his hand. The wall shattered under the might of it. Chris however was blown back by it and landed with a slide of his feet, his left hand however very very red.. It wasn’t burnt, but if he had placed any more power into it, there was a chance he could have burned it. Still Chris sat down as he began to recover a bit..he needed to keep working harder..keep getting stronger

Hwa-Jae's eyes flickered despite being closed as she tried to meditate within the room Kami Atsuko offered her. While taking on the Sacred Holy Water calmed the chaos within herself, it did nothing to effect the images her mind's eye brought to the fold. Just as the flashes did before, Hwa-Jae saw pictures of the past. Some she recognised, others she did not. She saw everything in quick flashes, each image accompanied by sound. Noise? Hwa-Jae could not tell. What she did know was that each image of the past she saw was also accompanied by a sharp pang in her head.
Slowly she opened her eyes and looked to her bags longingly. The medicine Old Master Fuega made for this situation long since ran out. With the Old Master captured by the rogue Kasai Cineza, it left Hwa-Jae with little options but to simply endure that torture her own mind put her under. Yet as the images came, the only thing Hwa-Jae could ask was 'why?' Why was she seeing these things? What did these images have to do anything? Every image just brought on more questions and there was no one who could give her answers.
Hwa-Jae saw the ruined Kasai Temple, of course, as well as the destruction of her home before Fuega adopted her into the Kasai. Both homes claimed by the fire she sought to control. Both with families she cherished, now lost to the flames. While she did not have a face to put on the one who murdered her parents, she knew of Cineza, fought against Cineza, and would face her again on Mount Paozu. If this battle was going to take place, and if Hwa-Jae was going to stand a chance, she needed to get back to her training.
Rising to her feet, Hwa-Jae quickly dressed in her cheongsam and stepped out of the room. Her headaches subsided, so she felt good enough to train again. She was unsure where Atsuko was, but decided to simply start on her regular training exercises. Adjusting her gloves, she thought about where she would go first. The Pendulum Room? Or perhaps the Reality of Marble, so she could get a feel for that room before Atsuko and Excalibur began whatever teachings they had plan there.
As she wandered the Timeless Lookout, she felt a presence of ki. It was a fearsome power, one she was surprised she did not feel earlier. Perhaps her disturbed mental patterns affected her energy senses? She would have to investigate this further. It did not feel like an attack. This must have been another of Atsuko's student. It didn't feel like Nasu, Komatsu, or Cambia, in any stretch. There would be more arguing then. Their voices alone would have shook the Lookout.
Hwa-Jae turned a corner to see someone training in a large room by himself. He appeared to glow with radiant light as he trained with ki projections. She stood silent as she watched and marvelled at his strength. Once more she found herself lacking; the kind of power this young man was something to behold. Something she felt she could never attain.
Yet as she observed, she saw a desperation on the young man's features. Something drove him to train very hard, of which Hwa-Jae could relate to. Stepping into the room, Hwa-Jae announced her presence.
"Excuse me," Hwa-Jae said, clasping her hands in front of her. "My name is Seuta Hwa-Jae, a student of the Kasai Hato Katachi and now student of the Kami Atsuko. Are you one of the guardians pupils as well? It is a pleasure to meet you regardless." She then bowed to him in respectful greetings.
Chris felt as if his body was burning up, he was using too much ki too fast, he didn't care though, as long as he could move he could still keep training. That wasn’t something he planned on stopping anytime soon. He could afford to stop any longer. If he was going to get stronger to bring back his sister than he needed to push his limits and expand them. There was no telling how long it would take but he couldn't care less. As long as he eventually got strong enough than he would bring her home. One he could find a way into the demon realm, but until then...well he was going to have keep on training.
However his body couldn’t keep pushing itself like this, he could not deny it any longer that he needed to take a break. Even a short one would be better than none. So as he began to get back up he heard someone, turning his head to face the red haired girl he couldn’t help but look at her in confusion. Who was she and why were there so many new people to the lookout? As nice as it was seeing new faces, he did wish his master could have introduced him to them instead of just him running into new people. He did suppose he needed to introduce himself as well.
As Chris turned to face the red haired girl he listened to her as she introduced herself, what a weird name he would think however. Though he couldn’t say it wasn’t the most uncommon with the amount of names he had ran into. However she did mention how she was one of Atsuko’s students as well. A new one that was. He still needed to finish his own training with her but time, time had been so rushed. It was hard to find such. ”Well, it’s nice to meet you Hwa, my name is Chris and to answer your question I am one of the guardian’s pupils though I more or less call her Master since it's easier. Were actually cousins. I am actually close to finishing my training with her however.” Chris would say with quite the bit of a smile as he would only continue on. ”So did she have you drink the water? I actually never got to do that heh, mostly because of some unexpected things that had came up before I could. Other wise however I’m known as one of the more active guardians, I will usually be seen around helping someone or resting up here. Though I guess if you want an idea of what I work with, I focus more on speed than offense or defense. So if you don’t mind me asking how much you have learned from Master Suko so far?” Chris would ask in a small conversation, he supposed this was the perfect thing right now for a small break. He could notice that his hand wasn’t as warm anymore so this relaxation was actually working quite well.
As Chris introduced himself and his apparent relation to Atsuko as her cousin. Hwa-Jae thought that now things were starting to sound silly. Was everyone in the Timeless Lookout related to each other? As far as she knew, it meant the Guardian was related to Nasu, Cambia, Komatsu, Cambia's son Okra, and now this Chris fellow. It started to sound like the Timeless Lookout was there home and she was some house guest who popped in once in a while. Just how big was this family and how much sway did they have on Earth?
That led to another concern; if Chris was related to Atsuko, then that made him a saiyan in some capacity as well. Just how many Saiyans lived on Earth anyhow?
"It is nice to meet you as well Christ," Hwa-Jae replied, still giving Chris her warmest smile. "So if you're Atsuko's cousin, that must mean you are a saiyan as well? And related to Nasu, Cambia, those saiyans?"
He seemed nice enough, though, but being related to Atsuko that did not mean much. Nasu was a relative of Atsuko after all. Did Chris possess the same saiyan pride as his other relatives did as well? Only time would tell.
Chris then asked her if she took Atsuko's test with the sacred holy water of which Hwa-Jae responded in the positive. "I did take the Sacred Water into myself. The Kami said it would purify me and that it was the test needed to begin my training. That was an... adventure, to say the least."
Hwa-Jae was uncertain just how much detail she should get to with Chris. After all, they only just met. He did not need to know of her facing the chaotic fire that raged within her only to be quelled by the Water and her own ability to realise how important the chaos was to her to keep in balance. Beyond that was her motivations for being in the Lookout: to gain the strength necessary to defeat her wayward Sister, Cineza.
Unless, of course, he asked.
When he asked what she learned from Atsuko, Hwa-Jae shook her head. "I only got started the other day. The Sacred Water took a lot out of me so I spent the night resting. I was hoping to get started today, but I haven't seen the Kami at all today."
"She said she would train me with the use of a sword, but to be honest, I'm a little uncomfortable with the idea. I don't like weapons all that much. I've trained with quarterstaves, but never with a blade. I prefer the use of my hands. My hands can do anything. A sword is only used for one person, just like any other weapon."
"So," Hwa-Jae said as she looked around the rather thrashed room, "Have any tips for training with Atsuko? Maybe you'd like to run some exercises with me? I may not be as strong as your extended family, but I can promise you that I am no slouch."
Chris couldn’t help but smile warmly towards Hwa, she seemed rather friendly and frankly she reminded him of how he was when he had first got to this lookout. However her next question was if he was a saiyan..that was a tricky one to explain. ”Well..I’m actually one fourth human, and I used to be three fourths saiyan, but now I’m about one fourth really. Lets just say after a rather hard trial I became something else. Now from what Master Atsuko could sense of my ki is that I have an equal balance of earthling and human, but we don’t know what this last part in me is. It is beyond anything we have ever seen. I mean as you can tell I’m not constantly yelling like those other four hehe. To answer your question on relations, I’m only their cousin, and I’m not related to Cambs..though don’t tell her I call her Cambs...last time I did that she nearly punted me off the lookout… Chris would say with a warm laugh. If it hadn’t been obvious yet he was definitely different than the other trio of trouble. ”Hard to believe how different me and those three are yet the only difference is that I’ve got actual human in me hehe.” Chris would say with a sincerity to his voice. Despite how he was in a fighting gi right now, most forgot that he truly didn’t like to fight others. He only fought if there was no other choice or if it was training. He really just wanted to be a writer of all things.
”Yeah she does say that quite often about the water, truth be told I never drank the water. Before I could we got short ended by the attack of Nasu and his crew. After I well..died..well we decided that I had already proved myself plenty. There wasn’t much of a need for me to really drink it anymore. I don’t know where she could be right now, I’ve been training non stop. I..I have been training to try and get my sister back. She was taken by the demon queen and according to Nasu...corrupted. There’s a chance I might have to end her...She was always stronger than me so I know I have to keep training if I want to stand a chance if any at all. That's my motivations for my training, do you have any for your own? Chris would ask simply and only once he would recieve a reply would he actually reply to what she would say about his master’s training.
”Personally I won’t lie to you, you don’t have to use specifically a blade. Most of the time I use my hands to fight as well but I will use blades as well if needed. In my base form I actually prefer fist and if I need a bit of an extra edge I dual wield two short blades. Heh Atsuko looked at me like I was crazy when I showed her my preference. In any of my powered up forms I switch ranging from fist to two dual bladed staffs. I don’t know what type of specialty you typically prefer though if you prefer fist..maybe there is something I can do.” Chris would say with a hint of excitement as he began to focus his ki into a shape of a wrist guard. However it held a second attachment to the bottom of it, a hidden blade. As soon as it formed it dropped into his hand ready to be given.
”If you want you could try this when your training with Atsuko again soon. Other wise I can make you quarterstave if that is more comfortable. I figured you might like this however. Since you do prefer your fist this would allow you to quickly have a short dagger if needed however as well as let you quickly switch back to your fist. The only other suggestion I can give..be careful with how much ki you put into a weapon. Lets just say I used to have very long hair. I honestly would gladly like to spar with you. I think from what I can what I can guess of Atsuko accepting you, you should be strong enough to hold quite a bit from me. I can feel something from your ki that reminds me of someone I know, would you happen to be a elemi? I can feel the elemental power from your ki. In fact I’m a little interested in seeing how strong you can be. Though if you just want to talk I’m fine with that either.” Chris would say with a bit of a friendly wink.

Hidden Blade made for hwa if they choose to accept it.
As Chris went on to explain his own particular bloodline, Hwa-Jae simply could not wrap her head around any of it at all. Perhaps it was because she simply didn't understand or maybe she just wasn't smart enough, but Chris and his lineage seemed more complicated than it should have been. How did one "used to be" three-fourths saiyan and then become something else? It did not make sense, but Hwa-Jae chose not to question it. In the end, that sort of issue really did not concern her, so she decided to move on to more pressing matters.
Of course then Chris had to drop a little bomb on the conversation about the fact that he, at some point, died. And then came back. Hwa-Jae's stood dumbfounded about such a thing. People just... didn't come back from the dead, could they? Once you were gone, you were... gone. There was no coming back from the Otherworld. Was there?
Hwa-Jae felt that little spark of hope. If Chris was telling her the truth, and there was no reason why he would joke about things like this, then there was some hope that maybe she could bring her sisters back. But first she needed to find out the truth.
"So you... died?" Hwa-Jae asked, questioning Chris's momentary lack-of-living. "And then you came back? You are going to have to explain that a little bit, as its the most extraordinary thing I have ever heard and this is after the talking birds, robots, aliens, and super saiyans."
He asked her of her motivations. This made Hwa-Jae silent. She took a deep breath. "There used to be a time when I trained hard to be a Kasai Guardian, someone who wielded the living flame to protect the Earth. Every day I did my exercises and my patterns and sparred against all of my fellow Sisters. I wanted to give back to the world that was my home in the best way I could and that was to become as strong as I could."
"My mentor sent me on a journey to find a way to defeat a foe of our Temple. I met many interesting people on the journey and been to amazing places. Mount Kiwi. West City. Mount Frappe. The Lookout. I've met Nasu and the rest of the family and of course the Kami. And I have become stronger, much more so than I ever was before."
Now Hwa-Jae lowered her head. "But when I went to Mount Frappe, I found another of the Sisters, Cineza, waiting in ambush. She attacked me, but kept me alive. Understand that this was someone who I considered my best friend and closest Sister. I went back to my Temple and..."
Hwa-Jae stopped as she still could hardly still believe the words she spoke. "I found my home destroyed, my mentor captured and my Sisters slaughtered. So I came here to train in the short time I have before I leave for Mount Paozu where Cineza is waiting for me. Atsuko says the Holy Water might be able to cure Cineza of her madness. So there's my motivation. I have to beat up someone I care for to bring them here so they can drink the Sacred Holy Water and maybe save her from corruption before someone less merciful shows up."
Chris then gave Hwa-Jae a weapon, a bracer with a sharp blade hidden within. Hwa-Jae looked at the strange weapon with pursed lips: she still didn't like the weapon, but perhaps she could make use of it. "I'll try it on later, see if I like it," she said, "Thank you, though. Don't take it the wrong way, I'm just not comfortable with weapons, but I will give it a go."
Just when Chris said he was open to the idea of sparring he asked one simple question: "Would you happen to be a elemi?"
Images flashed in front of Hwa-Jae's eyes as her head began to feel like it was put under a boiling hot waterfall. They rushed over her, some of them overlapping with one another. Noise and voices spoke in discordant cacophony. It would have driven many insane, yet Hwa-Jae did her best to hold on. Once more the word "elemi" brought these memories out and once more did that word bring her pain.
Fear. The heat of the flames. An inferno. The sight of her childhood home surrounded by fire. The screams of her parents. The shadow of Old Master Fuega standing in the door, arm outstretched. The woods at night. Cineza as a child, smiling. Laughing. Cineza as an adult, smiling over the burnt bodies of the Kasai. The woman with the burning crown, standing tall over everything. The world burning. The smell of fire. The taste of ash.
Hwa-Jae broke out of her trance like state and stood on shaking knees, breathing heavily. She waved to Chris. "Just... give me a moment..." She said to him. "Just... having an issue. I'm out of the medicine I used to take. All the more reason I need to become stronger."
Hwa-Jae tried to get into a decent fighting position, but her thoughts were occupied. What was it about that word "elemi" that seemed so... wrong? Like she was supposed to not know it, that the word itself was painful. She'd have to learn more later. For now, she needed to stand ready for Chris.
"I'm prepared," Hwa-Jae said. "Why don't you get this started?"
He supposed maybe he did let on a bit too much too fast, he really was sorry for that but he just was so excited to have a normal person to talk with again. He really didn’t want to lose another friend to wander off to kami knows where. So many of his friends seemingly have vanished off elsewhere without word of warning. He just hoped not to see another face disappear from the group. He supposed after, hearing her question, he should explain a bit more of what fully happened. After all it was quite the story to tell.
”So let's see here where do I start even. There are very very few buildings at this place called a check in station, now I am promising to you this is all true, Master Atsuko could probably verify. It’s this place where you get judged for the actions you’ve performed in your life. You know, the gatekeeper of heaven and hell. Well he judges and if you’ve been good, you go to heaven. Though there is a rare chance, if someone up there is smiling upon you. That you could be selected to train under the kais, creatures of pure creation. I was lucky enough to get that chance. It was a hard training, but I was given a choice to take such training and be given a chance to return to the overworld, or I could’ve gone to see my mom, and my adoptive parents in heaven. I knew I was still needed here so I took the training, the story to that one, is too crazy to believe until you experience it yourself possibly one day. I mean hopefully you don’t plan on dying anytime soon hehe. The secret to it though, with enough determination, anyone can return to life. Good or bad.” Chris would slightly cringe off the last bit to get off the morbidity of that. ”Though I guess, another question you might be pondering, is how I died. Well, I was actually helping Master Suko fight off the Saiyans when they came, Nasu and his crew. Well in the middle of the fight, I sensed one of my friends ki draining, when I arrived though I was too late, a monster known as the Caesar, killed my friend and ate him alive..Me, Bern, and my father who I don’t get along the best with currently...we nearly won, burned him and were so close to killing him. It turned out he must have been half saiyan though because right after he got a zenkai, an ability that makes a warrior grow stronger a few times after they come close to death. I miscalculated how much power I should have place into him though, It was my fault he had grown stronger than all three of us. The other had been coming towards us but by the time they would have gotten there..well it would have been way too late. So..I made the ultimate sacrifice. I fought him to the very end in a desperately losing battle. Eventually, he stabbed me with a spear and ripped my heart out, though I didn’t leave without the last laugh. I blasted my heart, just so he couldn’t have any kind of trophy..made him mad that was for sure..though after that I woke up in the afterlife..” Chris would explain the last part still feeling a bit nervous thinking about that whole situation. It seemed even after having explained it so many times, it still left a mark on him to have even died.
As Chris listened to her story he couldn’t believe how similar to his own it was. ”It’s strange to think how similar of a path were both following isn't it? Only difference is that my sister I have to go to a dimension filled entirely with demons to rescue her and force her to you guessed it, drink the holy water. Don’t worry about the weapon though, I tend to only use mine in lethal situations if I have no other choice. I prefer to go non lethal, though in a dimension filled with demons...well that's gonna be a bit of trouble.” Though as he touched the subject of Elemi, he noticed as she flinched practically at the name. He wondered what could possibly be the reason of that, but before he could ask she asked herself if he could start it off.
”Haha if you insist, let’s make this a good one! I look forward to this Hwa, after all we're friends right!” Chris would say with his traditional smirk as he looked at her, that was before he rushed past her aiming to strike her right in the spinal area. He was aiming for an area he hoped she would have covered. He didn’t want to hurt her after all, just a simple spar!
WC: 830

Hwa-Jae did not know really what to make of Chris's story. It all sounded far too unreal and impossible. He mentioned names of people she did not know, events she did not partake of or know about, but the strangest thing was just how fine he seemed with the whole affair. Sure, he was still looking for his sister and was pushing himself to his limits, but there seemed to be an air of that this whole coming back to life thing was... normal. That it did not go against the natural order of the world.
That did not matter. All that concerned Hwa-Jae was that there was a way to get her Sisters back. "My Temple home was destroyed and my Sisters slain," Hwa-Jae stated. "If you can come back from the dead, so can they. There must be a way to do it. A way to get a message to the other side. It was not their time to go. Not at the hands of a rogue."
Chris and Hwa-Jae did have similar goals, but she wondered just how close Cineza and Chris's sister were to each other. It would seem when the claws of madness took hold of someone's mind, it twisted them into shapes and behaviours completely unknown to those closest to them. But was it insanity that claimed Cineza, or was she lucid, conscious, and rational thinking to have known of the atrocities she committed? Would the Sacred Holy Water heal her, or would it determine Cineza to be too far gone.
And what role did the Black Fire Witch play in all this? The ancient foe of the Kasai lurked in the shadows, a coward using Cineza to achieve her unknown ends. Hwa-Jae felt her fists clench. Cineza was strong and unruly. What kind of power did the witch possess to keep Cineza under a leash and to bark and bite on command?
Black Fire... why did that sound familiar? Hwa-Jae's head started to hurt once more as images rushed to her.
The smell of smoke. The heat of the flames. The old woman who rushed to her. The woman with the burning crown, standing over all but shrouded in shadow.
None of that mattered right now. Right now she needed to focus on Chris. She needed to ignore her pain. They both wanted to spar so it was time to get the exercise going. Chris was strong, far stronger than her even if he did not glow at the moment. Still, fighting a stronger opponent would prepare her for her battle against Cineza on Mount Paozu.
Hwa-Jae took on a battle stance and raised her hands for a fight, her palms raised and ready for a fight. Chris made the first move with a sudden and immediate strike. He was behind her, moving with such speed that would have given a cheetah pause.
She quickly spun around moved her forearm to block the blow. His fist struck hard, forcing Hwa-Jae to slide back on her heels, if only a bit. It as still a strong blow that made her grind her teeth.
As he listened to her, to what she would say about her temple home being destroyed. He couldn’t help but be reminded of his own home he had loss. He still remembered the embers that had burned through the air, the ash that he had been able to feel and smell. The thought of what he had done to the ones that had murdered his family. That rage...he had tried to avoid it before until he had been forced to use it back in the fight against the saiyans. He had gained better control of that intense rage that occurred when he got angry enough, but still he could never fully recover from the thought of when had first killed..he never wanted to again unless there was no other choice.
”Hwa..there is no way I can guarantee if they will be able to come back. I mean there are ways yes, but you would have to be the first one to find any new loopholes or a kai has to give you the blessing to do so and send you back. That was how I came back. I hope they can come back, but...look..If they are determined enough..they will be able to manage to come back to our world, the world of the living. However as much as I would want to, I can’t make any promises on how long that could take them..” Chris would inform as he would keep watch of her, trying to study what kind of emotion she was going to display at that, because to be fair he really couldn’t tell what kind of emotion could come from that one. It was a tough answer he had to give, but it was the truth..not everyone could always manage to come back..he had seen how many were there and if it were extremely obvious on how to get back out, then most likely there was a reason that dead were mostly still dead.
As he watched her try and block his punch, although it was able to reduce a small bit of it, it still went on through towards them..hard. He hadn’t meant for it to be so hard, but if she was going to be facing someone who could be stronger than her later on..it would be a disgrace to not use his strength against her. He needed to draw out that anger of an elemi...he needed to taunt her. She already had placed out quite a bit of power, but it just needed that push. He didn’t want to, but he was going to have to taunt her if he wanted her to pull out her full strength. ”Come on Hwa, you're gonna have to push harder then that if you hope to beat your sister. You won’t be able to always remain on the defensive, and the day you meet her..the day you do, that is going to be what makes you lose that battle. I can feel you still holding back, you need to let go of it, draw upon it. Pull everything you got, because if you won’t then I’m going to have to raise the strings. You want to beat your sister right? Show me it, show me how much you care for them. Show me how much they mean to you? Show me how much pain they have caused you?” Chris would taunt towards Hwa trying to bring out that emotion he saw in her eyes when she spoke of bringing her friends, no her sister’s back. He wanted to see that rage brought here. He needed to see what all Hwa here had. He wanted to see their true potential.
Still he couldn’t give them a moment to rest yet, rushing forward he attempted to grapple her leg and toss her towards one of the walls of the square room. As much as he hoped it wouldn’t hurt too much he still couldn’t show that yet as he kept his cold face.
