It had been quite a long time that Bernael remained in the land of Makaii, waiting, training, preparing for his future as he watched over this place. He was supposed to be a Prince of Makaii now, right? His Aunt... his Father... both of them were here in this place, it was the closest thing to a family home he had aside from the house with his mom that he was born and raised in. But aside from that, this is where his dominant heritage was. He looked like a human partially sure, but even some of the full demons he had met looked sort of like him, he could pass off as a full demon more than he could a human at this rate if anything.
But at the same time, he had a split off from the path of being the Prince of Makaii... he was a protector of Earth, the Knight of Twilight within the Knights of the Round. Plus, with how hard it was to get to Makaii, and how strong his Aunt was even... was he even really needed in Makaii as a Prince at all? Perhaps he could be called upon in the case of an emergency, but he didn't really NEED to stay there, right? His hands and power would be better used with his friends back at the lookout and on Earth, as a protector! That had to be the best plan of action, tell Nakiya politely that he was going to remain on Earth and to contact him if she needed anything, like what drew him here in the first place, right?
"Wrong!" a voice would shout into the Demonic Prince's head as he thought over this all, the voice slowly drawing darkness as everything went black, and once more his other half appeared, smiling at him like always. "You're thinking of going back and being with all of your friends, right? The so called love of your life that awaits you there?" the figure would say in a teasing tone. "Y-Yes... of course I am. This place is well guarded enough, hard to get to... someone like us isn't really needed" the boy would respond in a confident tone. "Fool! We spent YEARS training to learn our demonic heritage, it went NOWHERE. Within a year of us physically searching, we find the actual HOME of our heritage. Our Aunt, hell, OUR FATHER IS HERE. We wanted to find him too, right? So what, you're going to abandon our entire goal of leaving home and becoming a fighter just because this place looks safe enough without us? To go chase a tail that already feels hurt from how we kept stuff behind her back?"
"That's not it, love doesn't have any say in this. I'm a fighter of Earth... a Knight... I need to protect our home" the boy tried to respond but was immediately cut off. "THIS is our home now! Our father, he did everything he could to protect us and spent years without us, we spent years without him. Now we're just going to abandon him after a small bit? How could you even think such a thing. At least give him... everyone here, a chance. Perhaps you'll find something more to protect, so many people overshadow us in power anyways, we'll just end up getting in the way there. But here, HERE, we're the strongest kid on campus! This can be the Earth to our Guardian! Making sure no unwanted visitors come by and threaten it!" the other figure was overly giddy and Bernael would just fall silent.
On the outside, everything the figure was saying wasn't there, but Bernael was responding physically, staring off into nothing, almost as if he was shouting responses at an empty space, like yelling at a telepathic message rather than thinking into it. "Well... I'll leave you to it then. Think on it... but I'll always be here, talking against your idea to leave here. This is our home now... though I suppose you always would be bound by an indecision like this. We were the Knight of Twilight after all. Back then you were the light, shining on the Horizon. But time for Twilight is Brief, and soon the sky falls into Darkness, Light obscured, Black taking out the suns White." the figure would chuckle before going back into Bernael, the boy seeing the area around him as he floated above the Royal Palace. "Black and White... Dark and Light? What a load of nonsense... I can be Gray if I want to be..." Bernael would say as he folded his arms, looking down and closing his eyes as he thought.
Could the world and his choices really be so black and white? Stay with the Demons and Stay with the Knights. Become his Dad a demon overlord, Become his Mom a human hero. Those choices really did seem black and white and Bernael didn't know how he would choose in those situations, but he had to choose eventually didn't he? He couldn't be both of those at the same time, he couldn't be as Gray as he wanted to be. They were separate dimensions, separate realities and he just had to deal with that. "Guess I have time... to align myself in some way" he would slowly float down towards the royal palace, setting down at the entrance as he fell back to sit on the floor. "I need some way to decide though... how to choose between such diverging paths within my heart..." he looked out at the dark sky of Makaii, wondering.. watching. "What the hell do I want to fight for?"
The Sorcerer Kold Demon wandered the halls of the palace, letting his mind float freely as he considered the situation as it was in the galaxy. His Heran agent on Natto was growing bored keeping an eye on Kimiko and the Saiyan Alliance, and to be honest, it was probably more than wise to have her relocate to somewhere else. Perhaps Namek in order to lay claim to the Dragon Balls, or Earth for theirs?
Given the escalating situation in the Cerulean Empire as Jarvis seemed to be growing more unstable by the day as his power increased, least from what he could glean from his agents in Queen Nori and Shizen... that may not be such an unwise move to make on Abzerute's part. Lay claim to the Dragon's power, make his own Wish on them to ensure his survival should things go dramatically south... yes, that seemed reasonable. Of course, there was first the difficulty of procuring the orbs in question.
Especially on Earth given that no doubt that blasted Saiyan Kami would be on the lookout for anyone bearing his Mark. His Heran agent would be of no use to him on Earth, not with all the powerhouses flying around on that world, and he was most certainly not sending his Demon slave there either. She would no doubt try to double cross him the second she saw the opportunity to do so, even with her will bent to his own. No, what he required for Earth was someone that would do as he asked, but would not be deemed as an immediate threat by the Kami or her agents.
The bronze fleshed Kold Demon looked up towards a signature that he had come to be familiar with, even though they had yet to be formerly introduced or even actually meet... "Yes, he could be of some use~" Abzerute mused before he began to make his own ascent to the peak of the palace, where he found the relative to Nakiya apparently in musing over something. He caught the last few words of the boys question and gave a sigh as a sign of his presence, assuming he had not already been sensed. "The ever constant question of the universe my Prince." he said to him, bowing before Bernael as he spoke.
"What do we fight for?" Abzerute postulated, his own gaze turning out towards the horizons and lands of the Demon Realm. "For some, it is merely the pleasure of fighting. For others it is their loved ones. For others still it's their homes, or in the name of an ideal. Or in some cases, just the mere taste of power is enough to get them going." he said before chuckling slightly. "Apologies your highness, I'm afraid I tend to ramble a little when it comes to philosophical topics such as this. I'm Abzerute, a student of your Aunt the Queen." said the Kold Demon, introducing himself to the young man with another respectful bow.
It had been quite some time since the demonic princess had been home... truthfully she had never spent any time outside her chambers since she had awakened beyond her trip to the planet known as Namek. Such a waste of time... even the most promising of their warriors wasn't up to the task of becoming their leader, and none of them were even nearly powerful enough to create the dragonballs her mother had sent her to fetch. She had really hoped that would have been her moment to shine... alas after the fiasco with the 'demon' clan Namekians, Aya had decided her time was better spent here, with her mother. Surely Nakiya wouldn't mind..? She was her only true child after-all...
"She already knows... oh I hope mother won't be too upset with me..." The girl would say with a sigh, walking down the outside halls of the Royal Palace. Makai really was such a beautiful sight to behold, and she wanted to take in every detail before her mother undoubtedly locked her away again.. she wanted as many memories as she could of her home... She would soon pause however as she could sense a couple of power levels floating above the royal palace, peering over the ledge and looking up to just faintly see their silhouettes. Who were they? Why were they anywhere near the palace?
She wouldn't allow any intruders to enter, and so saw it fit to investigate. Aya climb off the ledge of the hall and flew right on up to the two potential intruders. One looked like a noble, while the other a... uh... oh shoot she had read about them somewhere... a Frieza? nonono they were called Kold Demon's now were they not? It seemed everyone wanted to be a demon these days...
"Excuse me, please identify yourselves immediately. You are flying above the Royal Palace and I won't allow intruders to step foot within it's walls." She would say as she tried to sound as menacing as possible... though with pink hair and a cute looking loli like dress, that was a difficult image to portray. Only her eyes looked serious and stern, resembling Nakiya's almost to a T.

It seemed that the demon boy wasn't going to get alone time, though he didn't exactly want that right now, he was his own enemy in these sorts of situations, but the voice he heard approach him was an unfamiliar one. The voice addressed him as a Prince and that made him a bit more on edge, he hated not knowing people that knew him back, if they were foe that meant they had the upper hand on him in terms of information and how to exploit him. "Hmmm? Ah, yes... what each person fights for is certainly a question that comes up constantly, asked to oneself and one another to learn more" he'd respond, eyeing the Kold Demon up and down. He wasn't exactly familiar with these beings but he had his fair share of readings on them ever since he became a fighter, though they were still mostly a mystery... just a body structure easily put towards another species of this universe, perhaps another carried a similar form.
The demonic prince would wait a little while longer, listening to the Kold Demon's talk on what exactly some people fight for or all the different cases that could be brought up in such a situation. It was a very intelligent answer to such a question and the demon smirked as the Kold Demon explained it all before apologizing. They even gave their name, Abzerute, a student of Aunt Nakiya. "Hmmm, Abzerute... it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance. You have no reason to apologize, it was an excellent take and response to such a widespread topic, thank you. So you know Aunt Nakiya huh? I was wondering where you knew me from without being introduced, perhaps she speaks more of me than I thought" he would respond to all Abzerute had to say to him before falling silent, a smile on his face to address a fellow member of Nakiya's seemingly infinitely growing group that would be here in Makaii.
But this introduction was cut short it seemed as a girl went up to them, trying to intimidate them sort of as Bernael would sort of blink a bit, staring at them. She had Nakiya's eyes but the pink hair was too much... pink, to remind him of his family, perhaps an off shoot of sort. He probably had such red hair because both his mother and father carried that hair sort of. But this girl, well... she was a cutie from that face to that dress, probably another little sister figure around here like that Nyxosa girl that he met when he first came here, nothing to exactly write home about but something to at least cheer up in sad times if she was even family.
Though the way she talked to them sounded like she was a guard of sorts, not a noble so Bernael would respond the best way he knew. "Intruders? Gosh no, me... I'm the Nephew of the Queen. Bernael... well, I guess my name would be Bernael Devla, now. Oh! I quite like that actually... Bernael Devla~" he would mumble out the last little bit to himself almost as if he was just noting it down to himself. Sort of as he was discussing such a thing, he'd pull up the side of his shirt a bit, showing the mark of devla that was placed on his waist by his father when he was born, the only real thing that could connect him to the Devla line aside from his red hair that grew naturally from his head, as well as the fine red eyes that burned in their sockets as he stared down at the girl. "Oh, and as for this one here, he is a Student of the Queen, just to clear his name as well, though I am sure he is capable and will introduce or identify himself better than me~"
The demon boy was calming down a lot better now, he was still having a spiral inside his heart as he looked between the girl and the Kold Demon, not knowing quite what he was going to choose still. Often times hearing whispers into his ear about what to choose from both his other side and his own heart. It was going to be a difficult chose and it was quite distracting but he could focus on these two for now, he hoped, without flying off the handle.

The Kold Demon gave a shrug. "I like to try and keep tabs on the goings on in the Demonic Realms. I'm not much of a fighter myself, more of... an organiser I suppose you could say." he said as a pseudo explanation for how he knew about Bernael and his title. When the pink haired lolita appeared and started to make demands of them, Abzerute gave a roll of his eyes as he checked her power against their own. Of course there was the matter of her eyes... eyes that looked exactly like Nakiya's own. Since the Queen hadn't made any mention of offspring before, nor had she appeared to be pregnant recently, there could be but one conclusion as to the origin of this girl.
The bronze fleshed Kold Demon gave a sigh, shaking his head. "I'm starting to wonder if the Queen's letting them out of their pods a little too soon now." he mused before regarding the small child. "I am Abzerute, an entity that if your genetic programming had been completed you would no doubt recognise as Queen Nakiya's student, as well as the wielder of ancient power." he stated, rather coldly, his white bio-armour turning black, and his green gems turning blood red as he dropped the physical illusion to reveal his Corrupted state.
Just for good measure, he gave his power a brief flaring. A tactic that he had learned a while ago did wonders to put others back in line. Abzerute held his gaze on the girl for a moment, shaking his head slightly before he looked to address Bernael. "Your Aunt means well with her genetics projects, but there are times when I wonder if she's perhaps under-cooking them before releasing them into the wild so to speak." he said, deciding that this girl was just another one of Nakiya's Perfection experiments that had gotten loose.
Aya kept up her firm stare of the two until they would begin their introductions. First, the red headed boy spoke, introducing himself as her mothers nephew? Well that was a strange claim, according to her studies there weren't many people that would associate with her uncle since he lost the throne and essentially died. She gave him a strange, disbelieving look until he lifted up his shirt to reveal the 6 pointed star. Her disbelieving glare faded and she now just looked at Bernael curiously, like he was some sort of exotic animal behind a cage she couldn't actually touch.
"Uncle Trase' son?" She remained curious to him, but this more innocent look faded one piece at a time as her eyes narrowed on Abzerute.
"ExCUSE ME?" Aya spoke up, fully turning to face the kold demon now. Whenever he flared his power as if to intimidate her, the demoness simply scoffed and released all of her power at once as well, showing off everything she could in her face form.
"How DARE you assume anything of me? And as my mother's student? Surely she would have taught you to use your brain!" She yelled at him, reaching up to the neck opening of her dress and pulling the right side down just far enough to reveal the marking on the top of her breast. Her eyes remained narrowed on Abzerute, now resembling the eyes of a dragon, had either of them seen one before.
"Watch your tongue, bug because you are addressing Princess Aya Devla. Tsh, I hate insignificant morons like you... I doubt mother would care very much if I disposed of you." She continued angrily, fire began to rage around the young princess, building up slowly into a miniature inferno, ready to explode on the kold demon if he didn't quickly correct his behavior in front of her.

Bernael easily accepted the Kold Demons response, nodding a bit as to why he knew who exactly Bernael was. That was all fair and the demonic boy couldn't fault somebody for wanting to know or keep tabs on where they lived. The demon boy realized he had much more to see before he fully got accustomed to the Demon Realm, that was of course assuming that he was going to stay there for the a long time as his new home, which for the time being it looked like all signs were pointing towards that. "An organizer sounds like a good position to be in, I can't say I'm much more than a fighter myself, though there is always a place for thought in any fighter." he felt those words struck true, but once the girl called upon them, and Bernael gave his answer, an entirely new spot opened up for the boy's curiosity.
"...Oh? Uncle Trase huh? I thought you looked a lot like your mother, if you truly are my cousin. Yes, Trase is my father, I moved here a short while ago, it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Ms.Devla?" he assumed she would still have Nakiya's name, but was honestly unsure because there was no trace of a name said yet. However, how Abzerute introduced himself to this girl was definitely... high standing. He was a student of Nakiya, well, how high did the students of the Queen place in this sort of society, in the case of him talking to this girl like that. Must be harsh to be treated so rash like that, the demon boy once again felt bad for one of his cousins. First was Nyxosa and how her outlook of the non-demons outside of Makaii, and now he was staring at this other girl who was also being talked down to a bit.
He'd look over to Abzerute when he addressed the Demon Prince, sort of just staring normally. The Demon had no need to express his emotions openly on the matter just yet, he was more observing for the time being, listening to Abzerutes words before just sort of sighing. "Well, there isn't any point in waiting to let them go out on their own. It's a time for learning and making mistakes, to learn from those mistakes and be told when you are right. Though, she is quite fine, there's no harm in being overly cautious, we are sort of being shady up here like this." Bernael would respond before looking back down to the girl. She seemed to freak out at this point... which of course that wasn't the kind of stress he needed right now.
Though of course, she apparently didn't need those kinds of things said to her, but to be fair this was definitely an overreaction on her part. Whether it was from being young, overprivileged, or even inexperienced, something was wrong as she more or less exploded at the Kold demon, stuff was going down and it was going down fast. Even further, the girl pulled down the top of her dress in a way to show the mark on her own chest, it proved to the demon that either she was Nakiya's, or by some weird extension a sister of sorts if she was in fact Trase' and just saying things wrong. He had no way to know but would just assume that she was Nakiya's daughter for the time being, especially once she addressed her name to the Kold Demon.
"Princess Aya Devla? Brilliant! Another member of the family to be tracked down in my memory, that sure does ease the mind" he would say out to her as she yelled, but then as the fire began to rage around the girl, the Prince would wince a bit. Perhaps this wasn't a good time? Yeah it wasn't a good time as that inferno started to rage around Aya. "Oh and uh, you may want to calm down... no use accidentally destroying the palace if you misfire or the explosion is too big. But I understand if you can't contain yourself! ....Well, she is mad at you it seems, your job to fix it I suppose?" he would say shout out to Aya, before finally addressing the Kold Demon with his last sentence, taking the time to land nearby and stare at the two. He didn't want anybody flying off the handle or getting themselves killed, so he would activate his Demon King form, a more sinister smile across his face, he was ready to act but just watching for now, it felt like a little game to him. [Demonic King: 6,194,349]
The Kold Demon shook his head and sighed at the sheer over-reaction this child was displaying towards his comments. He did give a slight chuckle at the whole "insignificant" comment that she made towards him. Obviously she can't sense the difference in our powers right now... nor does she understand the full scope of the situation. Abzerute thought to himself before shrugging at Bernael's comments. "I suppose I had better fix this before it gets out of hand." he said before making his move.
A unique aspect of Kold Demon physiology is their ability to naturally produce small needle like weapons from their bodies. No doubt some remnant of a previous state in their species evolution, but one that he planned to take full advantage of. The Kold Demon floated over towards the princess and went to simply lay a single hand on one of her shoulders. At the precise moment that contact was made, a very small stinger would eject itself from the underside of his wrist and try to inject her with a brief paralytic toxin.
As he was doing all of this, Abzerute would calmly speak to the girl. "I do apologise for my earlier comments your highness. I'll admit, it's a little difficult keeping track of all of the Queen's genetic experiments, especially when a good portion of them refer to her Majesty as their Mother as well as her true offspring." he stated.
Abzerute decided to give this girl just a brief taste of the ancient power he wielded, just so that she would come away from all this with a better understanding of the situation. "As for insignificant..." he said, the dark magic flowing from his hand towards the girl, trying to very briefly let the power of the Majin Mark flow into her before he retracted it along with his grip. "I ensure the loyalty of certain parties to your mother's cause, your highness."
If this girl really was Nakiya's own flesh and blood, it would not do well for him to Mark her... a child's temper tantrum he could handle and deal with. The Demon Queen on the other hand? Now that would be an issue.

For a moment Aya's gaze shifted away from Abzerute and back towards Bernael... He had a good point, they were relatively close to the palace and letting off an attack of this scale could be rather disastrous if it ended up hitting it. Although she was sure she wasn't going to miss her target if she chose to unleash her fury on him. Although, he did apologize for the way he spoke to her... still, he didn't exactly look sorry... weren't subjects supposed to bow or something when they spoke to royalty? That's what she read anyways.
This stupid Kold Demon... he was so full of himself, and Aya was far too angry with him now to truly recognize his rise in power level. Perhaps her temper was what caused her to get into so much trouble back on Namek as well, but right now wasn't exactly the time to work on that.
The flames seemed to start dying down, instead of spiraling around her they seemed to settle as any regular old aura around her body. It seemed that wasn't enough though as the Kold Demon began approaching her, causing Aya to recoil and take an airborne step away from him. He then dared to place his hand on her shoulder and the princess scowled, reaching up and swatting his hand away from her.
"They might call her mother, but she isn't. They don't have parent's and just cling to the first person they see. Hmph, don't compare me to them... and don't touch me... jeeze you have no respect do you... I simply..." She found herself suddenly feeling quite sluggish, the fire around her disappearing almost as soon as Abzerute's hand left her. She had to blink a few times, wanting to look at her hands to figure out what was wrong, but couldn't. She couldn't move at all!

Stupid bug, perhaps if you had minded your tongue I wouldn't have to turn you in for assaulting a princess! >> Unable to speak, Aya instead turned her focus to telepathy, yelling into the Kold Demon's head. Oh if she had to annoy the shit out of him for the rest of his days this way she would...
