Personality: Katsurou is more often than not silent. When he does speak he tries to refrain from small talk and only speak about important matters at hand. Whenever he does engage in small talk it is typically only towards one who has gained his friendship or respect. Katsurou follows a very strict code of honor, created by his ancestors before him and altered only to maintain efficiency in the ever changing world. Should he break this code Katsurou will inflict minor injuries to himself to atone.

Katsurou is a very rugged man. Standing at nearly six feet tall he boasts a fairly muscular build thanks to physical training that began the moment he could walk. His body is littered with scars from sparring with his brothers when he was young and various small skirmishes he has been a part of while growing up. Most notable though is a scar over his left eye. This scar is especially brutal looking, appearing jagged and to this day appears to have been freshly delivered. He has long, silky black hair and a short scruffy beard.
Katsurou can typically be seen wearing a basic white kimono, worn in such a way to expose his chest and left arm. On this kimono are various markings which can be translated to tell a tale of a legendary samurai who single-handedly took on an entire army, only to then disappear and never be heard from again. Katsurou also chooses to go barefoot, only wearing footwear when he has no other choice. On some occasions one may be able to spot him wearing a pair of dark sunglasses.
Backstory:
The lone survivor of a brutal assault on his familys home, Katsurou walks a lonely path. Regarding himself as a Ronin he serves no one, living only by his family's code of honor. He tirelessly struggles to regain his honor due to his father making a deal with a demon. This deal produced the blade which Katsurou wields to this day. Legend states that the blade itself holds a part of the demon within, being able to communicate with its wielder to some degree though surges of emotion.
Fukushu, or the Demon Blade as his family calls it was originally wielded by Katsurous father. With this blade his father would lead endless assaults on bandits and general criminals alike. Over time this blade has become twisted and corrupt from the extensive bloodshed, now sporting a dark blade with crimson stained along its edge. Upon his fathers death Fukushu was locked away in his tomb, intended to never be seen again. Katsurou immediately worked to claim the sword for himself, claiming that he would use the cursed sword and reclaim his family's honor.
Only after passing 37 trials, each one intended to push Katsurou to his limits could he claim the blade. Twice he faced death only to narrowly escape with his life to face the next trial head on. At the end of the trials Katsurou faced the greatest challenge of his life, as standing before him somehow corrupt due to the sword was his father. For three days Katsurou was locked away in the tomb, constantly battling the creature that was once his father. On the dawn of the fourth day the entrance to the tomb suddenly burst open and out stepped katsurou. Beaten, bloody and bruised he emerged with his fathers sword in hand, ready to begin his journey.

Katsurou sighed to himself as he sat down in the grass. It had been a long journey but he has finally completed his training, and now it is time to set off on his journey. Just as he began to lay back to rest Katsurou heard someone approaching and immediately rose to his feet, drawing his sword while doing so. "Who's this then, some poor sucker who wandered a bit too far from home?"Approaching now was a group of four men, each sporting somewhat revealing clothes as if to show off their muscles. "Leave me be, and no harm shall come to you." Katsurou muttered, observing the men as they continued to step closer. Their 'leader' spoke up once more after chuckling, "What? You hurt us? Don't make me laugh.."
Katsurou sighed and entered a low stance, closing his eyes and taking a deep breath. Once he opened his eyes he caught a glimpse of a fist and before his attacker could even think of making contact he had ducked and slid forward, slicing at the thugs side and causing him to immediately fall. "I shall warn you once more, leave now or meet your deaths!" The two remaining men didn't answer, only rushing forward and drawing large clubs from their belts. As one swung Katsurou stepped to the side and kicked the man's knee, wincing at the loud crack and scream that followed before quickly silencing the mans cries with a quick slice to the throat as the thug fell.
The remaining man growled and cursed under his breath as he took a swing, managing to strike Katsurou in the back, effectively bringing him to one knee. "ENOUGH!" Katsurou shouted, his voice suddenly having an extra layer as he spun around on his knee and sliced at the final mans legs, baring his teeth and chuckling as he watched the mans legs split. "Mmmm~" Katsurou slowly licked his lips as blood sprayed against his face. Standing up once more the Ronin approached the man who was now on the ground, screaming in agony. "Foolish cur.. I tried to warn you.." Katsurou then began to laugh maniacally as he began kicking the man repeatedly, stomping on his chest and arms several times before finally driving his blade into the mans throat, silencing the screams and finishing the fight.
