Cryonia's eyes widened as the newcomer introduced himself as the Supreme Kai of the East. Of all the scenarios she had envisioned in her mind, running into one of these beings was not one of them. Although, this was yet another opportunity for her to advance her goals. If she played things right, should could get an audience with one of the most influential beings in the Galaxy. Cryonia bowed her head in respect, looked up at the Supreme Kai.
"I'm honored to be in the presence of such an exultant being. I am Cryonia, a representative of the Homeworld Restoration Effort. If it's acceptable, I would like for you to listen to the request that I have for the Kami, and for you to give your input on it. I know that your input will be valuable."
Even more surprising was that she managed to confirm the existence of the dragonballs. Arion outright admitted that they existed, but were deactivated for some reason. Cryonia didn't think she would find out about them here of all places. While conducting her terraforming research, there was one tale that always fascinated her. Planet Vegeta had been utterly destroyed. And yet the Saiyans managed to bring it back into existence somehow. She had heard rumors of magical wish granting items, but there were so many conflicting reports that she didn't know what was true and what wasn't. And now she had just stumble upon them, on a black water planet on the edge of the Galaxy. This is it! I could restore Matteria and enhance our planet in one fell swoop. All I have to do is convince him to activate the dragonballs again, even if it is just for a short period of time. I'm not letting this slip away from me!
After years of research, Cryonia could almost see the restored home world. With all the calculations she had done, it would take centuries using their current methods to return the planet to normal. They were doing all they could to reduce that time, but it was going to take awhile using normal methods. The Dragonballs could fix it instantly though. Cryonia wasn't going to let an opportunity like that slip through her fingers.
For the moment though, it was time to watch Cleo take part in her test. It turned out to be a little more dangerous then Cryonia thought it would be. There was a risk that Cleo would die if she drank that sacred water. Well, it was a good way to test her resolve. Cryonia called out to Cleo, intent on doing all she could to keep the human calm.
"You don't need to worry Cleo. You're completely pure hearted, from what I've seen. If the Cleo I know is your true self, then you will have nothing to fear from drinking that water."
The Eastern Kaioshin smirked at the reaction his presence caused the Anubian before he nodded towards them. The bowing from everyone else he was pretty much used to and would give a bow of his head in turn to each, before he winced at Galen kneeling before him. "Eh, rise would you please? Never really been one for the whole kneeling thing." said the Supreme Kai of the East before he returned his focus to the group, and in particular the trial that the Namekian was planning to put his assistant through.
He decided to hold his tongue, noting that the Namekian hadn't told the entire truth to his new assistant. Whilst yes the Holy Water wouldn't hold that much danger to someone who was pure of heart, that wasn't the whole story. They just wouldn't be in danger of dying from drinking it. They would still suffer through a tremendous amount of pain however. And given humanities track record with pure hearts, the Eastern Kaioshin highly doubted that this Cleopatra woman was entirely pure.
If she held even a shred of doubt, a hint of anger or malice, or even a desire for vengeance masked as retribution or justice... any dark thought or emotion that she thought was gone or simply existed on a subconscious level, the Holy Water would find it, and exact further pain from her. This test wasn't simply to see if she was pure of heart. No, this was a test to see how well Cleo could survive her own inner darkness... and if she had any demon blood running through her veins, any at all, then she'd be in for even more pain since demons and holy things didn't tend to mix together very well.
However, there was something he could put a voice to, and that was the girls request. "And which Homeworld exactly is it that you're making an effort to restore? There've been a few worlds recently as well as in the past that were the homeworlds for some races that are no longer viable." inquired the Supreme Kai of the East, even though he could vaguely guess which one she was referring to. Although with the way the Universe was going right now, it was safer to get confirmation.
It was all getting interesting for her. Cryonia was stating a rather interesting subject about some world she was creating. A rather godly-like task but she would not say anything to that. Cleopatra however had something interesting to do. To drink a water that was considered 'different' was interesting enough to catch her interest. Arion made it clear that this water was something serious actually. If her heart was impure or evil she would die from this. This would make her feel a bit amused actually. She wasn't the evil type of person to begin with. At least... She didn't think so. No one has ever seen her evil so she needed to prove her innocence.
She would step up quickly, smiling towards Arion. "Mister Arion, sir. With my greatest honor, I shall accept! I'm ready to take it~!" saying excitingly. She wasn't actually scared of this urn. This could surprise the Green Namekian. Hell, it could surprise everyone! She would step up slowly towards the urn and attempts to gently take it from Arion. If successful, she would get a whiff of the water... Nothing. It smelled of nothing. This would raise her eyebrow. "I always imagined holy water smelling funny but it has no scent," saying out loud with a smile.
She would raise the water up, giving it a cheer. "Here's to becoming a hero!" shouting out loud as she began to quickly chug it! Chugging it down, she seemed completely fine doing so. It took her about ten seconds to completely bring it all down but afterwards, she would pull it back empty and bend down to put down the urn. "There we go..." pulling herself back up. Let the effects... begin.. She would look around towards the group of people, seemingly fine for now. "Mmmmm... It has a funn-" before she could finish she would burp loudly. Blushing her face, she would giggle lightly, "E-Excuse me.. It has a-" burping once more! Her face would look embarrassed from this. It wasn't painful burps or anything. It was just loud and weird burps! She would rub the sweat off her forehead from the sheer shame she's brought.. "Forgive me... I'm getting a litt-" BURP! She would cover her mouth and feel so stupid! 'Gah! What the heck?! Why am I burping?! This is so awkward!' thinking to herself.
Her face was all red and quickly pulled her hand back, speaking really fast! "Forgive me! I'm trying so hard to control this! I don'-" beginning to burp once more! This time she was burping more and more! The burping not stopping! She covered her mouth, feeling so awkward and disgusted at herself. She looked like a damn fool right now. This water was making a valid point though. She wasn't evil, as a matter of fact.. Far from evil! She was simply taking a positive effect. Showing signs that she's funny and kind... Guessing at least... Once she finally stopped, she begins breathing heavily... It was taking the air out of her lungs! Her face completely red from the silliness. She would look around, slightly chuckling... "I-I guess... I win..?"
All this talk about helping other people reminded Cervez on how much some beings in the galaxy could be really self-centered sometimes, how they merely did things because it was the correct thing to do, or because they wanted to feel some sort of sense of good and righteousness for having done a good deed in their lives. These deeds, either good or bad; are what normally drive people to do what they do for everything in their lives since the first stars were born.
He wasn't a nihilist, far from it in fact. He was just a bit of a cynic when it concerned these kinds of subjects. He wasn't about to go on a rant about extreme scientific empirical materialism; where we're all nothing but matter and energy and eventually the universe is going to die as if everyone never existed Which begged the question of what was the point in trying to hope and fantasize in a world full of suffering and destruction where morality is dictated by force and might. People's consciousness is merely an electrochemical reaction inside a dying chemical reactor called the brain which, out of animalistic instincts to protect itself from pain, creates the illusion of meaning and significance in a reality that has none. Good, evil, morality, and thought are nothing but illusions, with no absolute standard in the universe by which to prove their absolute existence as immutable physical laws.
But, like he said, he wouldn't go on a rant similar to that, he wasn't that jaded against the happenings of the world just yet, besides if he started to act like a lunatic and preached about this bullshit then the King of All would be swift in delivering just punishment and create another Anubian to take his place; it was as simple as that.
The only thing that he sincerely believed that was you could trust no one. People could call him a Cynic all they liked, Cervez just trusted people to be people and let their basic desires drive them forward.
He shook his head from those thoughts, barely coming back to the Kami of Earth's speech about the Dragonballs and how they were going to welcome the Saiyan Refugees with open arms. A pleased smirk crossed his muzzle for a few seconds before it left, so his assumption had been correct after all, the Dragonballs were de-activated because the previous Kami had been afraid it could have been misused in some way or form.
Merely side-eyeing the Supreme Kai of the East once he caught that smirk aimed at him, he looked back at the events about to unfold with curious eyes; wondering if Cleopatra would start to burn on the spot because of a tiny bit of evil that she might have harbored deep in her heart without her realizing it. His gaze was focused and almost unblinking as she took the Holy Water, took a sip and then... burped?
The Kami Assistant-to-be started to have some sort of burp fest, every time she tried to speak she began again with no end in sight. He wondered if that was a normal reaction to the Holy Water for those that were pure of heart, or if the current Kami in a show of good-natured humor changed the water with something akin to soda.
He couldn't help it, really; a shit-eating grin crossing his muzzle as he began to laugh low and deep, the sound reverberating through his ribcage and spilling up his throat. "Ah, that was good." He stuttered slightly with a bit of laughter left in him, rubbing the corner of his eye with a finger; like he was wiping his eyes from tears of laughter.
While laughing previously, it gave him time to think about Cryonia and the Supreme Kai of the East's talk about worlds left uninhabitable because of some circumstances. He wondered why these worlds were still standing or left to rot and decay in this manner; wasn't it the job of the Gods of Destruction to oversee that these planets were taken care of so something could be born anew with the power of the Gods of Creation?
Slacking off, it seemed like they were doing. Though that would be the pot calling the kettle black, considering he had napped for almost an entire year (eight months) before he had awoken again. Thus far, he hasn't done the job, or well, the nature that his brethren were wont to do, but he'd rectify that soon enough, all he needed was a bit more time, patience and the resources ready and he'd be good to go.
He already had a planet in mind to start, anyway...
Cryonia was glad that that the Eastern Supreme Kai was actually paying attention to her. At least it looked like he was taking things seriously. She wasted no time on further elaborating on her case. Although she was going to have toe expand upon it a little more due to recent events that had transpired.
"My homeworld is the planet Matteria. Although you might know it by the name the rest of the Galaxy calls it, Es-03. I realize that there are a lot of species suffering right now as of late. And I intend on helping in any way I can. The space station that orbits our homeworld is being expanded upon even as we speak. Eventually we intend to make it the size of an average moon, if necessary. We can house others that need shelter as well, if necessary. Although I have to be careful with how I approach this. The HWRE has managed to stay neutral in Galaxy affairs for nearly a century. And I won't have my people hurt by dragging them into conflicts they don't have to fight. So I have to think carefully about how I help others. Although one day I hope to restore our planet to a habitable state. We already house two species within our culture: so why not allow more to live there?"
Cryonia was distracted from the conversation by the bizarre spectral that was Cleo's trial. She drank the water, only to end up burping constantly. Cryonia just stared in disbelief at the spectral going on before her. This was one of the strangest things she had ever seen. Did this mean that the girl didn't have a trace of darkness within her? That was something Cryonia found hard to believe. Even the most altrustic person would have to have some amount of darkness inside of him. She herself wasn't confident that it would be a painless experience if that water really did have an adverse effect on anyone with even the smallest trace of it. Cryonia shifted her eyes over to the Kami of Earth, giving him a bemused expression.
"Has this ever happened before? This doesn't seem like something that would normally transpire here. Does that water truly do what you claim for it to do? Because this isn't the reaction I was expecting after what you told us about the water."
The Supreme Kai of the East listened to the Elemi girl's story, nodding as she confirmed his suspicions that it was the Elemi homeworld that she was trying to restore. One of the eternal quests for their species if he recalled correctly. However, before he could make his response to her speech something completely unexpected happened. Cleopatra drank the Sacred Water... and began to burp.
"...That... that's impossible." he said, blinking as he watched the human woman continue to burp. "There's... there's no way this can be happening." said Mar, holding his head in sheer shock and amused amazement at what exactly he was witnessing here. "In all the centuries and millennia that this water's been in existence, not once has this ever been the physical reaction to its consumption by mortals. Whenever any mortal has drunk the waters, even the most innocent of souls has felt pain from drinking it." the Eastern Kaioshin explained to the group, peering at the human woman even more closely now.
It took the Supreme Kai of the East a moment to gather his own composure, looking back towards the Elemi girl although glancing towards Cleo now and then. "...Err, yes. The Sacred Waters do hold the power to increase the imbiber's own power after its consumption, assuming that they haven't grown too powerful in of themselves." confirmed Mar for the girl, his mind still trying to figure out just who or what this Cleo woman was. Was it possible that she had Kai blood in her veins maybe?
It was the only thing he could think of that could explain the reaction she'd had to the water... but that raised a very interesting question if that were indeed the case. Although there was another alternative, that the water she'd just drunk was not in fact the Sacred Water, but was instead something of the Namekian's own concoction. "...That is the Sacred Water right?" he inquired of the Earth's Kami.
Arion just stared as the Sacred Water had seemingly no effect at first other than making her burp-- he was somewhat expecting her to fall to the ground because of some pain anytime soon but instead, the water was going on an entirely different route. “E-eh?” - he muttered, blinking. He was pretty sure that the water wasn’t supposed to do such a thing, and yet Cleo just burped her way out of it. The Namekian just continued looking between his Assistant and the Sacred Water container that he double-checked more than twice but no matter how many times he’d check it, because it was indeed the holy water.
“U-uh… don’t worry, Cleopatra. But, this is quite unusual…” - he said. He admitted that despite being Kami, he couldn’t quite find a logical reasoning behind what had just happened; one would likely guess that it was because of someone’s pure heart, but then why didn’t other people such as Galen, Atsuko or Arion himself have the same reaction? It had to be something else, in his opinion.
The man looked at Cryonia and shook his head. “It’s never happened. It’s true that the water doesn’t kill you-- such statement is just part of the tradition as it’s a test for the warrior, but it’s still supposed to inflict massive amounts of pain.” - he replied before his gaze focused on Mar and nodded.
“Yes, that is the Sacred Water. Feel free to check it out yourself if so you wish, Kaioshin-sama. But none of the ones that drunk it-- myself included ever had such reaction. I guess it might be some flaw within her body at best.” - he said and glanced at Cleopatra.
“Either way, you’ve still gulped it down despite the risks, so I guess it counts as a trial.”
Galen’s jaw dropped as much as it possibly could when Cleopatra drank the holy water and her only reaction was to burp. He couldn’t even believe it having drank it himself a while ago. The pain was very very intense and he felt almost as if he was going to die. All the bad feelings he nourished in the blackest corner of his heart came bite him with deadly force and if he wasn’t pure hearted as he was, he would most definitely die back then. ”H-how is this even possible?! She… Damn! That’s amazing!” he thought to himself, gulping when he finally managed to close his mouth again. Everybody seemed rather amazed with that, even the Supreme Kai and that was how much of an amazing feat it was. Mar even asked Arion if he truly used the Divine Holy Water on her, and Galen also had his doubts, and thus he stared at Arion, as if he wanted him to give him confirmation.
Arion himself seemed amazed saying it was something unprecedented. He made sure it was indeed the Holy Water which only amazed Galen even more. ”T-that’s incredible… I almost died when I drank it back then…” he managed to say. His heart was beating like crazy, and seemed like she had indeed passed the trial, meaning she was probably the new assistant. Galen stared back at Cleopatra and managed to crack a smile, still stunned by what happened. ”Congratulations Cleo. Wow… Incredible! You never cease to amaze me! Hahaha!” and he couldn’t help but laugh due to just how nervous he was with this whole situation.
According to both the Kami and the Kaioshin, this reaction was not usual in the slightest. The Kaioshin in particular was completely stunned by what was going on. Honestly Cryonia couldn't blame him. As strange as the existence of the Holy water was, there was no way that anyone should have a vastly different reaction to it then anyone else. Cleo had passed the test though. Albeit in a rather embarrassing way. Cryonia shook her head, an amused smile spreading across her lips.
"Earthlings and their antics never cease to amaze me. You've got quite the responsibility now Cleo. Given your reaction to the water, I'm actually confident that what you said earlier wasn't just a statement you meant light lightly. Go and make the universe a better place to live in. It needs heros more then ever right now."
The Eastern Supreme Kai went over to the jug and inspected the contents, or at least whatever remained of the liquid that had been in the container to begin with. There was still a few trickles of the water still inside of it, so he put his finger into the container, swirled it in the water for a moment before pulling it back out and then sticking it into his mouth.
He tasted the water, briefly shutting his eyes tight as he felt the waters effects sting him for a moment. "Aye, that's the stuff alright..." he said as he looked over towards Cleopatra, perplexed and curious all at once.
He then looked back towards the Earth's new Namekian Kami. "It's a shame that I'm not the Northern Kaioshin," said the Supreme Kai of the East with a slight smirk, "otherwise I'd be trying to steal your new assistant away from you Kami and train her myself." he remarked.
The pointy eared deity folded his arms across his chest and considered the situation. She may be the first of her kind in all of creation to feel no pain from the Sacred Water... if that's the case, she may be the harbinger for a new age of humanity, which could help raise their level. he mused to himself.

Cleopatra hasn't successfully claimed the assistant position due to leaving the site. Lore wise she will be remembered as an assistant though never officially claimed the position.
