It had been a week or two since Cornatto had made the acquaintance of the ‘great’ Kamesennin so to say, but more as he looked just like a huge pervert at times. He didn’t know if it was normal for people like him not to be like, serious all the time. But not like the Earthling Saiyan himself could talk, he was usually playful towards everyone and didn’t usually acted otherwise unless they gave him a reason not to. Maybe some could think he did so that he could quickly gain others’ trust, but Cornatto didn’t particularly care for that, it was just how he was. That was all. Even if easily befriending people didn’t sound so bad since it wasn’t usually an easy thing to accomplish in most cases; some were just not used to trusting others-- a bit like his daughter and others just didn’t even feel like they needed friends.
That was something Cornatto disagreed with wholeheartedly; having friends just made things much funnier, not to mention that friends helped each other all the time. It was somewhat sad that Cornatto had lost so many friends throughout the years; not only the earthling people he knew had died, but it had been ages since the last time he met any of the people from Planet Natto. But it was also his fault for leaving. One of the people he missed the most was obviously Natto himself; he was funny and incredibly strong! He only wished that he could have fought him on par at least once, it was probably the only thing that Cornatto would have ever asked for if he ever had the chance to gather the Dragon Balls and wish for something; to have a fight with his old friend. However, he doubted that such a thing could have been possible even with the mystical orbs.
The Earthling Saiyan huffed, rubbing the back of his neck as he was just done with his ‘training’ so to say, but he didn’t even know how much of a piece of training it was supposed to be since all he had done was helping people with their farms or milk delivering! What was the sense of that?! It had nothing to do with martial arts at all! He was expecting something like the last time they had sparred-- or well, more like played a little game for the Kamesennin to decide whether kicking the Saiyan off his island or let him be. But, what they did was technically relocating on a bigger island; the old rat said that its name was Papaya or something like that, he didn’t remember.
It wasn’t much different from other islands he had seen, but there seemed to be a remarkable amount of people living there, and so he had his hands full every day delivering milk or helping the civils with other jobs. Also, the old rat had requested from Cornatto to wear some turtle shell on his back every single day. He didn’t exactly know what was the purpose of it aside from making the Saiyan just more tired since it was even heavier than the weighted clothing he used to wear back in the days until they turned out to be useless.
He was sitting on the ground, his legs crossed as he was trying to catch a breath as he was just done delivering bottles of milk to every single person who lived on the island while wearing that pink turtle shell on his back. “Phew… Well, I’m done today too. Or well, just for the morning at least.” - he thought to himself, standing up.
The man was about to walk inside the Kame House, that the old rat had transported all the way from the island they had met last time by the usage of a capsule of some sorts. He didn’t know how they worked, but they seemed pretty useful. The rat had just told him that moving out would have been beneficial to both of them, but mostly for him so that he could have gone through the Turtle Training regimen but that far he hadn’t done much aside from working like most people do.
“Hoya, my friend! Are you done with the bottles of milk already? I hope you didn’t cheat and used the Bukujutsu technique, have you?”
Cornatto snapped out of his thoughts as he took note of the small form that had called him out; it was the Kamesennin that, while he didn’t have much in matters of strength and power. Or at least compared to the force of a Super Saiyan, he looked like someone who knew a trick or two and a wise person.
The man immediately shook his head, lifting up a thumbs up as he grinned a little bit. “I would never do that! Hehe, I’ve managed to beat my time record today. But, I have a question, if ya don’t mind Kamesennin…”
The old rat smiled a little, evidently satisfied with the results the Earthling Saiyan had been showing off that far. He lifted up his head and tilted it slightly as he stared at the Saiyan out of curiosity. “What is it? Did one of the civilians give you any issue?”
“Oh, no! Not at all, but I was wondering… why am I doing this? Y’know, this isn’t the kind of training Natto put me through when I’ve learned the Soy Arts.” - said the man, folding his arms over his chest as he innocently questioned the rat’s training regimen. And, the mouse replied to with a faint laughter before he nodded. “Yes, yes… I can understand your concern. By what you told me, you’re a Saiyan ain’t you? I guess it’s only natural that you might be a little too focused on the whole combat part, but what we use to fight is our body; and exercise trains and improves our performance. Hmm, how about you take off your turtle shell right now and see for yourself?”
Cornatto tilted his head slightly before deciding to give the old man’s suggestion a try and take off his weighted shell, which immediately crushed to the ground and lifted up a little bit of debris. The Earthling Saiyan looked at himself before trying to strike the air, and as he did, he noticed something; he was faster. Not to mention that each attack felt as if it had more force between each one of them. Cornatto beamed, before bursting out into a peal of laughter.
“Ooh, this is awesome!”
The old rat giggled and nodded. “You’re starting to get your strength back. You might have noticed before, but you’re slowly shaping up to the same amount of power that your body was used to back then. However, don’t get your hopes up so soon! There’s still much to do.”
Cornatto regained his composure and nodded. “Yes! But um, how about-- I dunno, you teach me something new? Last time you showed me the Kamehameha and all of that. It’d be cool if you could teach me something new.”
The old rat rubbed his chin ponderously for a brief moment before looking up at the Saiyan again. “Say, do you remember the spar we had the other day?” - asked the rat.
Aside from all the work, the old man had put Cornatto through, the two had found some time for a little training spar yesterday, and during that occurrence, the Earthling Saiyan remembered that the Kamesennin had managed to land a solid hit on the man with a powerful punch in the face. It was somewhat similar to the technique he used himself, and it was also the one he had taught that earthling kid some time ago. Speaking of, he wondered what had happened to him; it had surely been a while since the two met.
“Yeah, I do! What about it?”
“I want to see if you can get the same results I did with that punch on me. You won’t even have to fight me; just land one hit on me. Alright?”
The Earthling Saiyan shrugged, agreeing to his deal even if he knew that it wasn’t going to be much of a challenge considering he had enough experience with such moves.
Both fighters lowered down in their respective fighting stances, but before the Earthling Saiyan could even manage to charge up his ki, the rat decided to go for the first move as he suddenly shot a lightning blast towards the Saiyan that fully hit him-- and not only that but also paralyzed him. The Saiyan grunted as he tried to get a hold of himself but didn’t successfully manage to.
“Tehehe, this is what happens when you’re too focused on hitting your opponent. Remember that you can’t do that if you can’t move, for this is the Thunder Shock Surprise!”
As much of a useful move that it was, its name was somewhat ridiculous, but Cornatto could see the logic into that; but how could he get rid of the electric field around himself? Not only it paralyzed his movements but also continued to inflict pain on the man. Among all kind of solutions, he thought of the one that seemed most logical to the Saiyan; dissipate energy with more energy. So, the Saiyan roared, focusing his ki as his ghostly-white aura flared around him. And, in a matter of seconds, the field was torn apart and left the old rat surprised.
“Y-you have figured it out?!”
Cornatto cracked a grin and launched himself forward, with his ki-imbued fist aimed to hit the rat in the face-- and it did, sending the rodent flying away.
“Owee-- owee! My, you could at least try to be somewhat gentler with elder people like me.” - he muttered under his breath, before lifting himself up once more.
The Earthling Saiyan rubbed the back of his neck, flashing him his toothy grin. “Hehehe, sorry! Sorry! I didn’t mean to hit you that hard. Are you fine-- H-hey Kamesennin, behind you, watch out!!”
Somehow, a tiger had apparently managed to sneak behind the old rat; whom, even if he were supposedly a martial arts master, had seemingly not noticed it sooner. And nor did he even take note of Cornatto’s warning as he just continued to stare at the man. He had to do something and quickly before the tiger could even lay a paw on the old timer.
The Earthling Saiyan launched both arms forward as he shot a lightning blast-- the same that the old rat did earlier-- at the tiger and shocked it as the animal let out a ferocious roar. However, there was no reason to be concerned as the man had managed to paralyze him.
The man sighed, holding the electric field up before he turned his focus once more at the Kamesennin, who didn’t even move a finger. “Oi, old timer… you’d not space out like that.”
The old rat chuckled, shaking his head slowly. “Implying I didn’t know you’d have done something about it yourself, huh?”
The Earthling Saiyan had deadpanned for a moment before both of them had a laugh together; he didn’t know much about the Kamesennin as a person aside from what he had shown him that far, but he sure was a smart person. Either that or he was kidding, and he didn’t even notice the tiger-- in that case, he was just trying to appear cool, but he couldn’t tell.
“Well, come on then… let the animal go and let’s have breakfast, shall we?”
Cornatto’s smile grew wider and nodded; but as much as he loved breakfast, it was only a small part of the day-- and he knew he still had to go through all of that work, just like most days after all.
