Galen had trained hard with the spirit of Master Korin, learning the ways of the Turtle School, although just the beginning of it. Galen was a determined man though and the little he knew was enough to push him to ascend even higher grounds and so he trained, just like he trained his sword skills. He was back at full determination and into a training regimen that reminded him of his early days and that made him feel both nostalgic and proud. Ten thousand sword strikes to warm up, then a good half an hour reviewing the principles of the Kikoukenjutsu Sword School and, after that, training the newly acquired Turtle techniques. Galen would start by review the fundaments of the style, the stance and the way the body moved, before going towards the ki manipulation techniques, especially the Kamehameha.
”I can do more! I know that!” he kept on motivating himself, pushing him further through the training. Sweat was running down his forehead and face as he poured more energy onto the energy sphere on his hands. ”Super Kamehameha!!!” he roared as he fired a much more powerful version of the energy wave he learned through Master Korin. A subtle smile appeared on his face as he felt pride filling up his heart with the success, but he knew, at the same time, that it was nothing! He could achieve much more and thus he took a very deep breath and started it once again, this time pouring all his soul onto his technique. ”Kame…” he said, putting his hands together in front of his body and summoning his own ki energy to start forming the blue colored sphere. ”Hame…” Galen drew his hands towards the right side of his body, separating them to give place to the now growing energy sphere, that was becoming darker and purple with the energy of his tension, that fueled his ki. ”Ha…” this final sentence usually signed the launching of the attack, but he held that up for now, gritting his teeth as he reached for the pinnacle of his power and poured even more energy onto the sphere, making it bigger and crimson red. ”Times…” and now it was ready and he pushed his hands forward in a diagonal angle, aiming upwards. ”TEN!!!” he roared as he multiplied the power applied to the technique tenfold, reaching the peak of his own energy output.
The energy wave was crimson red in color and pierced right through the roof of his training dojo, leaving a hole in its place, as it flew high up into the skies, until it eventually left Earth’s atmosphere. Galen was breathing heavily now, feeling really tired, but he sported a proud smile on his face and chuckled slowly. ”He… he… he… I did it…” he said to himself, as he was alone, or so he thought as Master Korin’s spirit appeared once again, chuckling lightly. ”Way to go, boy. That’s some strong Kamehameha you managed to create!” the cat spirit said. Galen stared at him in surprise; he wasn’t expecting another visit so son. ”Oh! Master Korin!” he exclaimed, and the cat chuckled a bit more. ”I see you liked my little lesson and I feel you are carving for more, am I right?!” he asked Galen and the boy promptly nodded his head. ”I am, Master, yes! Please teach me!” he couldn’t hide the excitement in his tone.
Korin laughed a bit, rubbing his round and furry belly, but then he shook his head. ”I can’t. I already taught you all I knew about the Turtle School.” he said and the frustration in Galen’s eyes were almost palpable, but before he could say anything, Korin spoke once again. ”But the Kamesennin can most definitely teach you…” and that once again awakened the curiosity of the human. ”The Kamesenning, you say?” he asked, with the smile returning to his face. Korin nodded. ”Yes! He lives far to the east, in a small island. You should be able to request him to train you. He may or may not accept you as a student, but you won’t know until you ask him.” and that was all he needed to hear. Galen laughed in excitement and nodded.
”Thank you, Master Korin! I will reach him right away!” he said in an excited tone and then he stared at the hole in his training dojo. ”Sorry, dojo, I will have to repair you later on!” he said, before staring back at Korin. ”Farewell, Master!” he said politely and the cat nodded. ”Farewell, Master Galen.” and then the spirit of the cat vanished once again.
”Flying Nimbus!” he shouted and, in no time, the golden cloud was there. Galen hopped onto it and sit with his legs crossed. ”Let’s go to the eastern islands! I need to find the Turtle Hermit!” and the cloud promptly obliged, flying at its top speed of Mach 1,5. The cloud took about 2 hours to reach the other side of the world, and during that time, Galen rested to the best he could, but, in truth, he was way too excited to be able to calm his mind. ”How is he like, this Turtle Hermit?” he kept on wondering, giggling quite often as he anticipated what kind of training he would be getting, should he be accepted.
After a few more minutes searching the area, he finally found a tiny island with a pinkish house on it, which seemed rather odd. ”Hmm… Maybe it’s there! Let’s land, Nimbus!” he said and the cloud descended until it was close enough for him to jump off it. Once in the tiny island, he approached the house and knocked on the door. ”Hello? Is anybody home? I’m searching for the Kamesennin!” he said in a polite yet cautious tone. Maybe it was the Hermit’s house, or maybe it was the house of a person that might know who he was and where to find him, in any case, he had to ask.
It was another quiet and peaceful day for most inhabitants of the blue marble; some were enjoying themselves and others doing their job. Work could also be considered workout-- something that Cornatto didn’t obviously skip any day, or at least it was so since he had resumed his training by the Turtle Hermit’s help. He had undoubtedly helped him a lot, and while he had somewhat slacked off throughout the years, he was once more regaining his strength.
And he was satisfied with the results; he was close to the battle power he possessed years ago when the Alliance was still a thing, and it fought against the Saiyan Empire. Surprisingly enough, what helped him was assisting a bunch of people on an island named Papaya with daily jobs; such as delivering milk, helping them on the farms, and stuff like that. It wasn’t something that Cornatto was fond of; when it came to working such as the stuff that the old man made him do back then during his training regimen, which had taken a little bit for the Saiyan to get used to-- mostly because of his incredibly thick turtle shell. But that aside, it was nothing way too complicated aside from the last time he had seen the old timer.
That time, his mentor had sent him on a quest to gather some herb but in some way or the other. It had served as a test to the old man to see if he was actually ready to take a step further in the Turtle School and actually take the old man’s spot as the Hermit. He didn’t mind, even if he wasn’t that much into wearing the orange outfit the old man had proposed him to wear. Cornatto didn’t exactly recall what the man had told him; apparently, that orange and blue outfit was the traditional attire of the Turtle practicians. He preferred his good old blue one, though, and while he didn’t mind the color despite being too bright, his blue one fitted him better. Or at least that’s what he liked to think; he hadn’t ever considered changing his attire, maybe it was some pointless attachment the one to an object or a dress such as a training outfit.
One would likely expect it to be a gift given to him as a child for him to prefer it over a new orange and blue outfit, but it wasn’t so; he just liked it. He wasn’t picky with stuff, but if something worked just fine, why changing it if there was no need? He’d likely do it if someone were to destroy his outfit after a battle or something like that. But he didn't have much of a reason to change his attire.
He thought that it’d have probably been a while before he’d have had the chance to meet the Kamesennin again, after all, Cornatto did promise to pay him a visit, but he made a mental note that it’d have been maybe a few times a year. He didn’t want to bother the old man, and Cornatto himself had other stuff to do; obviously training was among them. Regardless of his renowned power, it was nowhere enough for him-- he wanted to become much, much stronger! So, he couldn’t afford too much time for the mouse even if he was a good company.
However, that day he was indeed going to the Kame House-- and with quite a rush! His ghostly white aura flared around him as he was flying at high speed in the direction of the lonely island, and he wasn’t alone! There was also his daughter Kabocha in her usual attire; a red top, two golden-ish armbands, a red skirt and a pair of black under tights, and a belt with a golden buckle.
“Um, father… what’s this about again?” - asked the girl, giving a sideways glance at Cornatto as the two approached the small island.
“I dunno. The old timer said there was some emergency, apparently. It might be serious, so get ready for anything.” - he replied, lowering down his gaze as he spotted the familiar house-- it seemed that the old man had indeed moved again from Papaya to the Island just like he had hinted at him the other time.
“E-er, in that case… wouldn’t it be better to tag along with someone stronger than me? I’m not even a Super Saiyan.”
The two floated to the ground, the girl earning a questioning look from her father. “I don’t see how that makes any difference! You’re plenty strong even without the Super Saiyan transformation.” - said the man, and while maybe it wasn’t exactly accurate, he obviously believed in his daughter's power; else what good of a parent would he be?-- Then again, not like Cornatto was that huge piece of maturity himself. Kabocha liked the thrill of battle herself, but she was way too formal about it, and at times it looked like she lacked self-confidence.
“R-really?”
Cornatto nodded, offering a faint smile. “Yup! C’mon now, let’s head in and see what’s going on.”
The Earthling Saiyan, though, on the other hand, had plenty of confidence. Maybe a little too much, he didn’t even consider knocking on the door as he immediately opened it and entered inside with Kabocha following behind him. “Yo, old timer! What’s the matter?” - exclaimed the man, whom immediately spotted the rodent grieving in front of the tv, almost as if something terrible had just happened.
“C-corn… you’ve come! I need your assistance right now!”
The Saiyan obviously got somewhat concerned, frowning as he nodded. “That’s what I’m here for, what is it?”
The rat clenched his tiny paw, and grit his teeth before he turned his gaze at the Saiyan. “The… The TV is not working! I’m going to miss W.T.A!!”
The Earthling Saiyan deadpanned while the girl just tilted his head slightly, looking between the two confusedly.
“...W.T.A?”
“Wide-Thigh Aerobics!”
Cornatto blinked, staring at the old man for a few moments or even longer before he lifted up his hand and covered his face with his palm, shaking his head slowly. The Earthling Saiyan had realized such were the old rat’s hobbies, but seriously, did he call him for some silly reason like that?! Not to mention that Cornatto knew absolutely nothing of hi-tech, there was no way he’d know why that damn thing didn’t work. He wasn’t necessarily mad about it, on the other hand, after the initial shock he couldn’t help himself but let out a little laugh. Sure, it was definitely kind of a bummer discovering that the former Kamesennin had called out for the man’s help as if it were some emergency, while it was nothing more but a stupid show. But it was also why he was a good company; it cracked a smile on his face.
“You’re the worst, old timer! Sorry, but I don’t know how this stuff works either.”
The man’s response left the old rat disappointed, as he let out a sigh. “Ah well. It was worth a shot, I guess. Sorry if I disturbed you both, suppose I'll go catch a nap and see if it works later.” - said the rodent before he turned around and walked up the stairs.
“Rest well!” - said the man before he folded his arms over his chest, looking at the woman who stood beside him. “Well, we were going to train. We might as well fight here--”
Before he could put an end to his sentence, Cornatto suddenly shifted his gaze at the door as he heard the noise of someone knocking on the door, the man couldn’t exactly tell who it was from his ki, but it felt like he was powerful! And even almost as strong as the Saiyan himself. Kabocha herself sensed it, and while his father seemed pretty excited by the idea of meeting someone as strong as Super Saiyan tier, she looked somewhat alerted. However, they didn’t feel like it was someone evil. Not at all.
Cornatto walked up to the door, pulling the handle as he opened the door. The one in front of him did indeed feel like quite something, but didn’t look like much in regards to raw strength; even if he had to say, his attire was fascinating! He looked like one of those travelers that go on epic journeys with a crew of their own. “Yo! Did I hear ya right? Are you looking for me?” - he greeted the man with that goofy smile of his, but a rather straight forward question. It was just how the Saiyan was.
Galen wasn’t a judgmental one, especially after his meeting with Master Korin who was… A cat! But of course he had his own expectations. When he learned he had to find the Turtle Hermit, he was obviously expecting to find an old man or at least someone much older than the young man that opened the door, asking if he had heard Galen right. The man was between the cliff and the sword right now: if he showed doubt that the black haired man was the Hermit, he could offend him, but he wasn’t sure he should just assume, so, instead, he decided to follow a middle path, hoping that it wouldn’t offend anyone in the end.
The first thing he did was to bow respectfully in a forty five degree angle, the same angle to be directed to important people and deities. ”Yes! I’m looking for the Turtle Hermit!” that was the safest ground to step on. After that, Galen readjusted his posture and looked back at the man. He was trying to be discrete, but he was evaluating his physics and also his power, thanks to his newly enhanced ki sensing ability. Odd thing about Galen’s ki sense is that it improved thanks to his coma; on the final days of it, while his consciousness was trying to recover, he ended up learning how to expand his sensing skill in order to be able to feel the flow of power all across the galaxy. Funny thing for a person who struggled a lot to learn to sense in the first place.
And this person in front of him wasn’t suppressing his power at all. Galen could feel his strength, a strength that surpassed Cambia’s own and, although it wasn’t quite as fierce as Jie Shan, was definitely someone who was training seriously or so it seemed. This made him satisfied, feeling it was safe to assume he truly was the Hermit. With that being settle on his mind, he began to speak again, in order to give an explanation as to why he was there. ”My name is Galen, I’m originally a wanderer. I searched for this place because I wish to become a better fighter. I’m originally a swordsman and I like to think I’m decent enough with the blade, but… When it came to fistfights, well… I’m no revolution. I mean… I used to suck. But then a spirit of an ancestor of my position insisted I should learn how to use my fists and said that the Turtle School was perfect for me. He even taught me fill things and all, but I feel I can’t improve without proper guidance.” he paused, exhaling a bit. ”That’s why I humbly request for the guidance of the Turtle Hermit. Please!” he said in a respectful tone, bowing once again.
Galen had hid the fact that he was the Tower Keeper of Korin as he didn’t want his position playing a role in the decision of the Hermit, he felt it was an unfair advantage, and thus he would hold on to that information until he was formally enrolled as a student.
The man stared at the fellow earthling eagerly, waiting for whatever he was up to; Cornatto did technically imply that he was the Turtle Hermit, but maybe he’d have specified. He didn’t know how someone would even know of the Kamesennin anyways unless it was indeed that famous as the old man had told him that one time. Because, to be honest, he hadn’t ever heard about it. Ever. He did know some people practiced martial arts on Earth but he never really got in-depth about it, it was mostly like a bunch of things he heard about in the years he spent on Earth.
And probably, no one ever was aware of how the martial arts teacher of the Turtle School looked like, and if he did, they didn’t at least know that he had stopped and passed the torch to the Saiyan. It was still a recent thing, so no one to blame. But, it was indeed curious that the Kamesennin wasn’t some old man but indeed someone younger-- so to say, considering Cornatto was anyways forty-six years old. He wasn’t that old if one had to consider his Saiyan anatomy, but technically in earthling years, he was more than a young man. But, thankfully Saiyans could preserve their bodies up until they’d be seventy years old or around that anyways. It was convenient; they were a warrior race, and if they were to age just like Humans did, fighting would have been a problem after hitting up a certain age.
The swordsman proceeded to bow, and Cornatto felt somewhat awkward; he wasn’t used to formalities and all, after all, he was grown up in a very different environment, and he didn’t ever have to bow down to anyone nor did anyone ever bow to him. Or well, maybe a few soldiers did back then when he was part of the Alliance-- or did they offer him a salute? He didn’t honestly remember at all, but well at least this Galen fellow was more respectful than other people he had to deal with within his years on Natto.
“Uhh, yeah. I am the Turtle Hermit.” - said the man, staring at him somewhat confusedly. He assumed that he didn’t specify his point correctly or something like that. Either that or he was just telling him what he had come that far for; and honestly, Cornatto hoped that it involved fighting considering the one in front of him was a pretty strong fellow! He’d have sure liked to fight him a little bit, even if he was going to train with Kabocha first, but maybe they could spar all together!
Then, the swordsman introduced himself as an earthling by the name of Galen and from what the Earthling Saiyan could gather; he was seeking guidance on the path of the martial arts so that he could improve his strength in fistfights. Well, it wasn’t a matter of being some revolution or not, if he were he could as well have been worse after all. It was all a matter of style and effort because if one weren’t to dedicate themselves to the sacred combat discipline, it’d have pretty much be wasted time. For what mattered to the Saiyan; fighting was everything, ever since Cornatto was a child he liked not only the idea but also what he’d feel whenever he sparred or confronted one of the many beasts in the thick forests. And in that regard, the man also reminded a little bit of himself when he hinted at the fact that he had been a wanderer; Cornatto had been one himself for a short time of his life, but then he got involved with the Alliance and all.
However, he had to say that the part of the spirit caught his curiosity; since when spirits even existed? He hadn’t ever encountered one-- aside from one time, but it wasn’t even a ghost but rather some demon thing he barely remembered much about him. But he couldn’t exactly tell much about what sort of spirit Galen was referring to considering he didn’t even hint at what kind of position this spirit and seemingly now, Galen himself had been covering.
“A spirit, huh? Well, that’s awesome! Haha.” - he exclaimed, folding his arms over his chest. If Galen were seeking to learn after the Kamesennin, whether he was expecting the old geezer or not, it’d have been up to Cornatto to take care of this, and he was somewhat excited; not only for the power that the man emitted, but he’d also be his first student!
“I dunno if you’re looking for the old timer, but I’m Cornatto, and as of now, I’m currently the Kamesennin! I was recently appointed the title, but I can help ya!” - stated the man before moving past Galen and walking down the beach, gesturing the fellow male to follow. The female Saiyan, who had only been watching, also walked somewhat closer but instead of following them outside, she watched from the window.
The Earthling Saiyan let his arms fall from over his chest and placed them on his hips, cracking a grin as he looked at Galen. “If I get it right, you’re good with your sword but can’t fight with your fists? Hm, no good! I don’t know what your sword is made of, but I doubt it could resist that much without breaking. Also, I’m not sure what kind of fistfights you mean, but the Turtle School ain’t for picking up fights. However, if somebody evil threatens you or other good innocent people with brute force, it’s our duty to protect them!” - he said, and that was probably one of the fairest principles of the Turtle School, or at least it was to Cornatto.
“I’m interested to see the full extent of your power, so I’ll teach ya’ but, beforehand I want to see what you’ve learned from this spirit guy! Oh, and also-- you won’t need your sword for this training. If you prefer, you can keep it, but I think it’s obvious that I don’t want you to use it.” - he said before the man suddenly lowered himself down into a stance; the man bent both his knees down, and he placed his arm overhead, flanked by his other arm carefully to the sand below them.
“This is the stance of the Turtle School! Try it for yourself.”
So this man was indeed the turtle hermit, Galen was glad he didn’t end up making a mistake. And he was quite something, this turtle hermit man, since he was unfazed when Galen met his time training with a spirit, limiting himself to say it was awesome. ”He is quite chill and informal… I’m somehow relieved. I was under the impression I would be meeting a very stern and rigid old man.” he thought to himself, with a subtle smile on his face. Cornatto, was his name, and he was the new turtle hermit, and that definitely explained a lot. ”So he just recently was passed the torch of the style… I guess it’s only fitting… He doesn’t look older than I am… Perhaps he is on his early thirties or something like that… Not that far beyond my twenty five.” since he saw no tail, Galen took Cornatto for a human; he was very oblivious to the subtle differences in their appearances, something saiyan traditionalists wouldn’t miss.
The important part here was that he said he could help Galen and he giggled in happiness. ”I’m glad for that, Master Kame.” he said out of the simple conclusion that, if he was the Turtle Hermit, and the Master of the style, it was only fitting he should be called Master Kame. Once that had been settled, Cornatto grinned and spoke once again, understanding that Galen, as a swordsman, needed to improve with his fists. He mentioned the possibility of the sword breaking and the swordsman nodded. ”This has always been a concern of mine, Master, that’s why I have to make sure to strengthen the blade with my ki at all times… Still, it’s a serious risk!” he admitted. Galen didn’t mention it, but he was deeply attached to this blade of his, since it was a memento from his village, that was no longer in this world.
When Cornatto said that the Turtle School wasn’t for brawls, but to protect the world from evil, Galen nodded, giggling a bit more, happy to see that they were on the same page in that regard. ”I’m aware of that and I promise you my fists won’t ever be used against my comrades, housemates or innocent people. I’m a protector, Master Kame, and my sole goal is to be able to protect this land and the people that live here.” his tone was honest and fueled with a fiery determination that also burned bright in his dark eyes.
After that, he showed interest in seeing how powerful Galen was and how much he had progressed on his training and he promptly nodded. First and foremost, Galen took his sword away from his shoulder and rested it by the house wall, then, he walked back, placing himself a few feet away from him, carefully watching his stance and trying to copy it. Galen’s stance was flawed, but it was better than a rookie would be able to emulate, meaning he did have some training in the turtle school. Then, with a deep breath, he put both his hands forward and started chanting a very familiar word. ”Kame…” and a small energy sphere appeared in front of his hands. Once it was there, he pushed his hands back to the side of his body, opening more space and pouring way more energy onto it. ”Hame…” and normally, this would be the part where it would be fired, but instead, he held it and poured even more energy. ”Ha…” now the sphere was changing colors, becoming purple at first. ”Times…” Galen frowned his brows as a drop of sweat ran down his temple, he glared at Cornatto with determination in his eyes, willing to proof himself worthy and then, he pushed his hands forward, with the sphere now crimson red. ”TEN!!!” and with that shout, he fired an utterly powerful Kamehameha right at Cornatto.
If he needed to show his strength and capability, what better way than to show how much he polished the signature technique of the style?
Cornatto couldn’t blame Galen for thinking that the master could have some grumpy old man; because it technically was! Or well, at least until he had the pleasure to meet the old man who granted him the pleasure of being taught by the Kamesennin-- who wasn’t even that bad of a person in the end aside from his constant obsession with women. But, that aside he was a good company even if he could be severe at times but the old Kamesennin probably just did for the student’s sake, and the Earthling Saiyan guessed that he’d have had to be too at times. However he didn’t know how good he could be at that, maybe Cornatto was a little too sweet with people, but he couldn’t just help it; it was his nature.
He could see sense in being strict with one’s students, though, it was a little bit like parenting. One had to make sure that a child would understand a set of things and at times a parent had to act like so that the kid would listen to him-- especially in those rebellious ages of sorts, even if thankfully Cornatto never went through that like the Earthlings did. It seemed like an awful lot deal of stuff! Nor was he interested in having to grow up someone that would regularly give him headaches.
On the other hand, he was lucky enough for his one and only daughter to be probably one of the most docile Saiyans in the world. And thankfully, because after he had to deal with Nasu on Planet Natto, it’d have been difficult for him to raise a Saiyan child like that; even if he’d have obviously loved her anyways. It was just how it worked, he guessed. But her being like that made it all easier, though, she was also not the most sociable people one could find. However, what mattered to Cornatto is that she still had that same love for battle that all Saiyans had-- maybe she didn’t show it like her father did, but she sure liked fighting against a strong foe.
Speaking of Kabocha, she was still watching from the window and eyed her father curiously as he entered that strange stance. It was weird, she had never seen her dad doing that before, but it was also true that she had not seen him fighting yet after he had gone through the old man’s Turtle School training. She wondered what he had learned and got from it, aside from his greater aura, obviously. But she tried to imagine how she’d mimic the stance herself, and while Kabocha didn’t execute it, she looked eager to see more.
Cornatto looked at the swordsman curiously; strengthen the blade with his ki? Well, that was sure something that he had not thought of before! But, to him it sounded like a double-edged sword; it would undoubtedly increase not only the blade’s resistance and power, but unfortunately, it’d also be a huge drawback on the user’s energy and stamina on prolonged use. It somewhat sounded like the raw Super Saiyan transformation! “I dunno how you do it… but the way it sounds like to me, it feels like you’d have to use lots of ki to keep it up for an entire fight!” - said the man, but as he had said, he wasn’t sure if that was how it worked. He could be wrong. Not like he had ever used a sword before.
Happiness struck the Earthling Saiyan’s features as Galen agreed to the fundamentals of the Turtle School, but Cornatto didn’t only think of them as teachings of the Kame School but also what every single person should have followed in their life-- obviously most of them didn’t. But, he felt like such were pretty good principles for a person to have, and also the ones that Cornatto followed for most of his life without realizing!
Then, the Earthling Saiyan just watched as Galen pulled off his attempt at the stance, which wasn’t even that bad but it was somewhat sloppy. It was somewhat understandable considering it was his first try, but he’d soon get used to it-- or he could adapt it to some sword style of sorts if he had enough imagination! It was probably still better than the first time Cornatto did it himself-- meaning that either he was a natural talent or the spirit’s training had managed to give some good results. “Not bad at all, Galen! C’mon then, show me what’chu can do.”
The Earthling Saiyan stared at the fellow man silently as Galen put his hands forward and started enchanting the words of the Kame School’s signature technique; the Kamehameha! Cornatto couldn’t help but smirk, was this spirit so acknowledgeable? Whoever he was, Cornatto would have liked to meet him some day. Whether the ghost deal was real or not, but Cornatto believed it, Galen knowing the Kamehameha was probably just further proof that he had been instructed some of the basics already.
However, while he was expecting for him to fire it after the ‘Ha’ part, Galen continued charging, and Cornatto just watched him curiously-- but also somewhat confused. What was he doing? Galen continued to build up power and shortly after the sphere wasn't blue any longer but purple before turning into a red crimson, which caused Cornatto to raise his eyebrows in amazement. It was only after the man exclaimed the full name of the technique that he then fired it and without much of an effort, Cornatto rapidly moved out of the way.
Kabocha herself watched in awe as the trail of the beam technique extended for the only Kami knew how long, but it surely went quite a far before disappearing.
Cornatto just blinked for a few minutes before he turned his gaze at Galen once more, cracking a grin in excitement. “Kamehameha… times ten? Wow! That was awesome, haha. It was so powerful, too! You know what? I’m definitely going to train you!” - he exclaimed. For his performance wasn’t only a show of how talented he was, but also of his strength that Cornatto was eager to test and see just how strong the man was.
The fully powered Kamehameha was fired at Cornatto, harnessing all available power in Galen’s core in the form of the fierce crimson colored energy wave, but the Turtle Hermit was indeed impressive: almost effortlessly he managed to avoid the blast by simply vanishing from sight. Galen managed to tilt the angle of his blast upwards a bit in order to send it out of the atmosphere, without risking blasting anything on the planet, otherwise it would cause quite a lot of destruction considering the power he poured onto the attack. The human was completely breathless after firing such a powerful blast. ”Arrff… Arfff… Arrfff… I’m… Beat…” he admitted, chuckling a bit, feeling slightly embarrassed his attack failed to hit the saiyan, but at least it showed just how powerful he was and just how dedicated to the little techniques and stances he had learned in the Turtle School Fighting Style.
Cornatto found it really impressive he could fire a Kamehameha enhanced ten times, and that it was indeed a powerful attack and thus, since Galen had proven his power and dedication, he was going to train him. Galen felt really happy inside and his heart skipped a beat. He chuckled a bit more and cracked a very large smile. ”I’m so happy for that… Now that you accepted me I feel I can fully reveal who I am. I was afraid it would prompt you to accept me without really testing me if I did so when I introduced myself.” he said in an apologetically tone, as he didn’t like the fact that he hid who he truly was. Galen bowed once again. ”I’m… The Tower Keeper of Korin’s Tower, the protector of Korin’s Holy Grounds and the Karinga Tribe. Servant to Kami and a member of the X-Fighters, a group which its goal is to protect the Earth from every threat!” he said in a proud and honest tone.
Cornatto couldn’t help but just keep staring into the distance as he watched the ki wave suddenly drift from the ground and then go way up in the sky; Galen had likely done that so that to avoid inflicting damage to someone or destroying something. He had to say that he was quite impressed with the skills Galen had shown to the Saiyan with that one technique; it wasn’t that easy to learn the Kamehameha unless one were a fast learner, nor did he ever seen a move like his Kamehameha Times Ten! It was pretty cool too with that crimson color which fit the beam. Maybe it was also just as powerful as his Final Kamehameha! The power output was not only larger than any other of the Turtle School waves he could fire at his opponents, but it was also a mix of blue and yellow ki. But, he had to say, that Galen’s red beam looked kind of cool.
The man chuckled a bit, taking note of how taxing the technique was on the human; and he couldn’t blame him, after all, he had unleashed quite a little bit of power! The Earthling Saiyan would have likely felt fatigue take the best out of him himself if he were to use such handy move. However, it was true that he had also managed to dodge it without much of an issue, but Cornatto was still a little bit stronger than the swordsman. So he had managed to see through his moves quickly and just move out of the way before it could even get to hit him, but Cornatto acknowledged the destruction power of the technique nonetheless; it’d have certainly packed quite a punch if it would have hit.
Then, Galen hinted something at how his position could have made it easier for Cornatto to accept him as a student. It caught his curiosity considering it was quite the assumption he made; what could it possibly be? He didn’t believe it had anything to do with stuff like being some president or things like that, Cornatto wouldn’t have given it much importance nor did Galen look like someone that would fit in a city. The Earthling Saiyan tilted his head slightly, holding both arms behind it. “Huh? Is that so? I’m curious now! Who’re you then exactly?” - he asked, offering him a reassuring smile as he eagerly waited for a response.
The response he received was something that he didn’t immediately grasp until realization hit him; wasn’t that the tower below the lookout in that rural area with all those tribe guys? Well, that was something that Galen could be proud of, for sure! Even if he never realized what that tower was for, last time he checked-- twenty years ago, though, there wasn’t anyone in the whereabouts unless this tower keeper of sorts had gone somewhere else at the time of Cornatto’s visit on the Lookout. A visit that, to be honest, the Earthling Saiyan didn’t remember much of-- or well, the man didn’t remember it at all. He could barely remember how Kami even looked like; he just remembered that it was a she, that was all.
How long had it been again? More than twenty years? That was more or less it, so there was little chance that he could remember the details of it, but if he didn’t, he guessed that it didn’t matter. If something had happened that he was supposed to remember, then he likely would have. But, all of that aside, Cornatto wasn’t sure as to how that could have brought him to accept Galen out of no reason aside from him being the Tower Keeper. On the other hand, any other Saiyan from the Alliance who was just as old as Cornatto would have likely kicked him off their island considering it was Kami who kicked them off Earth. But, again, the Earthling Saiyan didn’t care about that, so it was okay. While other Saiyans, and by what he remembered, Natto’s son himself, weren’t way too content with how they were just kicked off the planet back in the days but to Cornatto, it was probably for the better considering the Alliance had still managed to find a planet for themselves. It wasn’t as pretty as the blue marble, but it was somewhat similar-- especially when it came to the wastelands. They were pretty much akin to the ones on Earth, but that was more or less it.
“The Tower Keeper, huh? That’s neat! But, believe me, that if you were to tell me this earlier, it wouldn’t have made any difference.” - said the man, letting out a faint chuckle. “But, I must say I’m happy there are other fighters interested into this planet’s well-being. It’s seriously been way too long since I’ve heard of any earthling stand up for such a role!” - he added, and it was true, it had probably been about the time of the Saiyan invasion that he had heard of them fighting against some protectors of peace. He didn’t personally know them, but he would have sure liked to and also ask them for a fight!
“U-uhm, father? Isn’t this Kami person the one that made you all leave this planet?”
Kabocha shyly asked in the middle of the two fighters’ conversation; she wasn’t around for it-- literally, she wasn’t even born yet at the time. But, her father did tell her a few things every now and then about the Alliance. They weren’t part of it anymore, but Cornatto continued to respect Natto and his ideals even if he wasn’t alive any longer. He only wished that things could have gone differently.
“Yup!” - the man nonchalantly replied and nodded in Kabocha’s direction before he looked once more at Galen.
“Oh, speaking of her! How’s Kami-sama doing?”

Somehow Galen was glad to hear that his position wouldn’t make him have an unfair vantage and that made him respect this Turtle Hermit a tad bit more. ”I’m happy to know that.” he said with relief in his tone. His breath was still labored but he was recovering his stamina little by little. Galen wiped the sweat from his forehead with the back of his arm, and then rested his hands on his waist. Cornatto seemed glad people were back into action, putting their efforts into defending the Planet against the many threats out there and that made Galen’s smile to widen a bit and he chuckled. ”Yeah, it’s a relief we have people willing to do that. Many of those are saiyans, but they are strong! But we have our share of humans too! Hehehe!” Galen still didn’t know Cornatto was a saiyan, but that would be hinted soon enough as a girl approached them, mentioning something about being kicked out of the planet.
Didn’t take much brain activity to make him realize that Cornatto was probably a saiyan since, as far as he knew and had studied, the only race to be kicked out of Earth in the recent past were the saiyans that inhabited the southern islands. Galen stared at the girl for a second, blinking twice as he made the connection and then back to Cornatto, looking forward to how he would be answering to the girl who revealed herself as his daughter. ”He looks awfully young to be the father of this girl.” and, again, Galen didn’t know saiyans aged differently from humans, retaining their youths for far longer.
Cornatto just casually confirmed, but his tone had no ill-feeling towards him or even the previous kami herself, and that was quite amusing to say the least. And, once again against all odds, he asked how she was. Galen scratched the back of his neck, unsure on how to put it. He sighed before starting. ”Well… How should I answer this… I mean… Kami is doing fine, but it’s not the same Kami you knew, if you are one of the saiyans that were part of that Alliance. Truth be told, there has been another Kami in between the one you knew and the current one, but she has gone missing. The current Kami is Master Arion, he is a Namekian from the dragon clan and an amazing person.” he said in a friendly and kind tone. ”And I’m sorry the previous kami kicked your people out. I think that was wrong, but… Things are different now! I don’t think anyone should be judged because of their race anyway, nor does the Kami!” he added.
The Earthling Saiyan was content to see that this human was something that he had not seen in a while; he didn’t seem like most earthlings who would usually be interested in their own business. It had been a while since he had met someone who was interested in defense of this planet-- and it came down only to a few individuals that were nowhere strong enough as the human back in the days if one didn’t count people like Totoma. Then again, the fellow Saiyan at the time had joined the group on Natto so he didn’t know what he should have considered him other than a great and honorable warrior considering he fought with the rest of the war.
He was one that people should have admired, however like in most cases; it wasn’t like books or stuff like that kept record of events like the death of an individual unless they covered an important role. Then again, it wasn’t like he knew anything of what people on Earth studied-- not to mention that Galen was the Tower Keeper, so he probably had knowledge that most Earthlings didn’t even know the existence of-- which was probably the case.
He had to say, though, that he wasn’t surprised in the slightest when Galen mentioned the presence of Saiyans among the ranks of the Earth’s Special Forces-- it was something that he could be surprised by anymore; Saiyans were nearly anywhere! Even back then, he met lots of Saiyans around even if most of them were pretty much about the average battle power.
But, the fact that other Saiyans were also interested in the well-being of the planet struck him with happiness; people often talked of the Saiyans as barbarians or other insults that he didn’t bother counting, but he still remembered that not many were fond of the warrior race. And how to blame them, after all, that had happened?
It was also good to hear that humans dedicated themselves to such objective, of course. It wasn’t surprising either, though, he remembered many earthlings being able to accomplish impressive feats with their willpower-- or at least not everyone but a good bunch of people that called themselves martial artists.
“Haha, Saiyans huh? How strong are they? If you all are as strong as you are right now, I’d like to fight them!” - he exclaimed, and obviously such didn’t just count for the Saiyans of his group but also the humans! As long as they could put up a good fight, Cornatto would happily indulge in a fight. It wasn’t like he had anything to lose-- even if maybe he’d spend some time trying to intensify Kabocha’s training regimen; she was close to the Super Saiyan tier, and he wanted her to achieve the form as soon as possible! She probably shared the same excitement even if she didn’t show it.
The woman nodded, fidgetting a bit as she felt like she had just intruded in the conversation without much of an excuse so Kabocha thought that she’d just let them talk for the meanwhile, and try not to interrupt their conversation. Kabocha liked to fight but she was a shy one, and she’d quickly feel awkward, which was quite different from how his father interacted with other people. Then again, not like all kids were just like their parents, weren’t they?
Then Galen explained how Kami was supposedly okay, but it wasn’t the one Cornatto was referring to but rather another that came after another Kami successor of the one the Earthling Saiyan was aware of, and it was honestly a little bit confusing, but after a few minutes, the man realized what he meant. So that woman had stepped off the throne? He guessed that it had probably been so long that she got old-- he didn’t know how old she was, it was just an assumption of his.
“Huh, so the other Kami-sama went missing? Hm. That’s a shame.” - said the man, folding his arms over his chest as he tilted his head slightly. He barely remembered much of the former Kami, but apparently, it seemed that both the one he knew and the one that succeeded were both women-- and as such, not members of the green alien race that included among their members one of their members, apparently. Or so the human said at least.
The Earthling Saiyan nodded as Galen inquired whether Corn was part of the Alliance or not, and well, he technically wasn’t, but he was among its first members back in the days. “Mhm! I was formerly a Major, and I’ve pretty much seen the Alliance growing up, too! Now, it’s been like… twenty years or so and I’ve come back on Earth just recently.” - he said. Thankfully, he had the pleasure of meeting the old timer shortly after his arrival on Earth, who decided to take him under his wing and help the Saiyan recover his old strength.
Cornatto smirked a bit, raising an eyebrow in surprise. “A Namekian? Well, that’s awesome! One of my best friends was a Namekian-- though he was part of the Warrior Clan. He was also pretty strong, but I don’t know if he’s still alive. I’ve not been here for uh…-- a lot of time!” - he said, cracking a faint and nostalgic smile as he still remembered how his old, green friend looked like and his name-- Hsang, or something like that. He wouldn’t have sure minded meeting him again and catch up on the old times.
However, that was no time to get lost in what ifs and what not! Cornatto nodded, agreeing with the human’s opinion. “Yeah! You’ve got a point. Unfortunately, I remember many hated Kami-sama without even knowing her because of this, but ya' know, it’s been a while anyways. I doubt anyone still holds a grudge.” - the man said before cracking his knuckles, a little smirk cracking on his face as he switched into fighting stance shortly after.
“I think you’ve had enough time to rest, no? Let’s continue!”

Galen nodded, sighing in a saddened tone. ”It’s truly sad that the previous Kami went missing, but in the end it may have been for the best… The previous Kami was… I don’t want to badmouth her, but she was different and her ki felt… Corrupted of some sort…” and it pained him to say that, but Galen was a quite honest fellow and he couldn’t hide the fact that Atsuko let herself drown in a vile path, even if just slightly. Galen wouldn’t even start to mention his own particular reserves for her being the Kami, since he thought a warrior shouldn’t be the spiritual guide of the defenders of the Earth, and that Atsuko fitted the whole of a warrior and not the other one, but that was his opinion and he would be wise to keep it to himself.
He listened carefully to Cornatto words as he revealed himself to had been a Major of the Saiyan Alliance and, although Galen wasn’t particularly knowledgeable regarding military ranks, he knew that it was a high rank nonetheless, and nodded, feeling rather impressed with his previous position. But what surprised him the most was when he said that it was twenty years ago and that made his expression become that of utter shock. ”What?! Twenty years ago?! B-but… Well… You don’t look that old! I mean, not that you are old, but… Well… Master Kame, I wouldn’t say you were older than thirty! I mean… We don’t even look all that different in appearance and I’m twenty five!!” he said, exhaling sharply as he was still quite shocked with that revelation. ”Just what are those saiyans anyway… Powerful, young… Gheez… We can’t really dream of catching up, can we?” and although that thought didn’t make him dislike the saiyans, it made him feel quite bad for the humans.
In any case, Cornatto seemed to be favorable to the idea of having a Namekian as Kami, and he even had a namekian friend, and that was pretty cool. In the end, they could go on talking about this kind of things for a long while, but they had more urgent matters and more important ones to attend, such as Galen’s training in the Turtle School arts, and when he said they should continue, the boy narrowed his eyes and smirked, nodding. ”Definitely, let’s do this!” he said in an excited tone. ”Should we do this here, Master, or is there a more fitting place?” he asked, as the island seemed awfully small, and the house awfully close to them.
Galen confirmed that the Kami had apparently gone missing for some reason or the other, but not only that, but he also hinted at how she was a corrupted person. It made him wonder what criteria the old Kami had chosen her as the successor to the Guardian’s throne; wasn’t Kami supposed to be a good person? Why did she pick a bad one? By what he remembered, the Guardian of Earth was a good hearted being that was supposed to look after the planet, even if he didn’t exactly know what sort of duties this person was meant to handle.
He did remember that they had something to do with the Dragon Balls, though. But, when it came to their precise duty, he had no idea, he hadn’t been on Earth for quite a while. Nor did he have an accurate idea as to how things correctly worked with that kind of positions but he’d have sure liked to meet the new Kami anytime soon if it were a Namekian.
He remembered they were cool people, even if he didn’t ever meet a dragon clan one! He recalled that his old friend was of the warrior clan, too bad he hardly remember much about what he told him about his people. He recalled that the dragon clan had some magic abilities or something like that. Thus they weren’t people he expected having a spar with since he guessed that they weren’t fit to combat. Still, it could be a delightful meeting nonetheless.
He guessed it was a little bit like the Saiyans; while most of them were indeed warriors. There were also other minor roles within Saiyan society that had to do with stuff like selling things of all sorts such as food. Like, some dedicated themselves to cut meat and then sell it or other small activities like that.
He guessed none of the prideful Saiyans he had ever met in his life would have ever liked to do stuff like that. They couldn’t probably withstand doing such simple jobs instead of fighting. He didn’t know if the Namekians were anything like that, but to be honest, Corn never tried, nor was he interested, but if he had to cut meat in pieces so that he’d then eat them, then he'd be up for it!
It didn’t work like that, that was undeniable.
Either way, the Earthling Saiyan chuckled a bit and nodded. It was probably something that Earthlings weren’t used to, but Saiyans thankfully retained their youth for a long time. Otherwise, they’d have had to stop fighting at a much earlier age, something that he wouldn’t have obviously liked at all-- despite those forty and something years of his life, he still felt young nonetheless! Of course, maybe he wasn’t like back then when he was twenty, but he didn’t feel old at all. On the other hand, the two did indeed look alike when it came to someone making an estimation of their age; one would probably say that they were just as old as the other, but it was wrong.
“Hehe! We Saiyans don’t live longer than humans, but we remain young for a much longer time! Like, uhh… It'll take me another thirty years or so to get old like the Kamesennin.” - he said, letting out a faint chuckle. Such information would have likely just made Galen feel as if the humans held sort of a disadvantage over the Saiyans at that point, but it wasn’t like it was easy for the warrior race either; supposedly the earthlings aged gradually. But, a seventy years old Saiyans would usually age out of nowhere almost as if old age fell directly on their shoulders.
Anyways, the Earthling Saiyan looked ready to fight-- once more standing proudly in the fighting stance of the Turtle School as he was only waiting for the man’s nod of approval so that the two could begin their training. However, there was something that Cornatto didn’t realize that it’d have been easy enough for them to cause a huge mess on the island even unwillingly with their battle power, and they didn’t certainly want that, didn’t they?
Thankfully, Galen made the point clear as he asked Corn whether they should have moved somewhere else or not. For a moment, Cornatto blinked before realization hit him and let out a chuckle, nodding in agreement. “Yeah, haha! I almost forgot about that.” - he said before turning his gaze somewhere on the horizon, his hues looking for an island he had become aware of thanks to the Kamesennin. It wasn’t that big of a place, but its size was enough to host the two’s sparring match. Corn nodded to himself, floating off the ground as he gestured Galen to follow him.
“Alright, let’s go!” - he had exclaimed before he flew away. He tried not to fly too fast considering he didn’t know whether the human could even fly in the first place or not, but the man guessed that he’d manage to make his way to the island in one way or the other. Then again, it wasn’t like it’d have taken much by swimming either-- it was relatively only that far considering one could still see it in the distance if they were to look hard enough. Either way, once there, the man looked down at its surface; spotting a tiled floor, one of a training mat in a few words. It seemed like a pretty traditional floor for sparring, so he guessed that it was somewhat old. But, it didn’t matter as long as there were nothing to break or destroy!
The man floated down to the ground and once more, before he glanced at Galen, placing both hands on his hips.
“Here we are! We can go all out without worrying about anything here.” - he said before switching to his fighting stance again. He’d then give the human a few moments to get ready before he charged at him into an attempt at attacking him directly with a haymaker aimed to hit his face.
Cornatto started the training spar off with a haymaker to Galen's face!
So the saiyans took way longer to age when compared to humans, that was a quite handy trait, truth be told, and Galen couldn’t help but to admit that they indeed seemed like they were a full-fledged warrior’s race. ”While weaker… We humans can still achieve that level of power with our will… I will show everyone that humans are not pushovers!” he thought to himself, feeling his heart getting filled with pure determination that burned bright into his dark eyes. In any case, seemed like Cornatto almost forgot they were about to start training on a tiny island and that made Galen arch his brows, quite surprised. ”How does he function?” he wondered, feeling rather amused.
Then, Cornatto floated and instructed Galen to follow him, what he promptly did, flaring his light blue ki aura and taking the skies above the island as they headed to a larger and empty one, with a titled floor, almost as if it was used as some sort of sparring dojo or arena. ”Oh, that’s fitting.” he thought to himself, cracking a smile on his face. Galen landed on the ground, some feet away from Cornatto and back into his rather clumsy looking Turtle School stance. When Cornatto said they could go all out without minding the consequences, he was both relieved and excited. ”I was looking forward to that, Master Kame!” he said, feeling all fired up.
Then Cornatto came, aiming to throw a powerful haymaker to Galen’s face. The human knew he was still being tested while at the same time being trained in the Turtle School, so he needed to do his best in order to impress his master and show he was ready to go to the next level. ”Alright, Galen! Let’s do that!” he thought to himself, making a brief nod as he prepared his body to react in a powerful counter move.
Galen clenched his right fist and as Cornatto’s punch got closer to hit, he started his newly mastered technique. ”Rock, Scissors’n’Paper!!” he exclaimed as he threw a punch against Cornatto’s haymaker. ”Pa!” before the fists met, Galen opened his palm and aimed to block Cornatto’s haymaker with a palm strike. The two attacks clashed and, although just barely, Cornatto had the upper hand, pushing Galen backwards, but just a bit, less than a feet. Galen smirked with the corner of his mouth. ”Quite a handy technique… Three possibilities which we can adapt to better fit the situation! The Paper was the right choice for now!” he said, trying to show Cornatto he was seriously studying the style.
In the end, the block tactics was nearly perfect, leaving Galen with nothing but a slightly red palm.

It was an advantage for the Saiyans to being able to retain their youth for so long. After all, fighting was what they loved the most and being able to for as much time as they could have was probably one of the best things about possessing Saiyan blood. Cornatto himself was glad that he could have managed to fight still for such a long time, but it didn’t necessarily mean that other races were weak!
Sure, maybe they couldn’t fight just as long, but one had to consider not everyone could manage to retain their youth for so long and still be just as powerful as some of the Saiyans around; people like Cornatto or other older members of the Alliance, too. They weren’t the youngest but were still physically young, so to say, and could also preserve their strength. Still, not every Saiyan was just as strong as they were.
The Earthling Saiyan had personally met some Earthlings that were nothing to laugh at, maybe not every single one of them could reach the power of Super Saiyans, but he was pretty aware that such beings existed and that anyone could probably tap into such potential if they put enough effort into their training. It was only natural for one to get stronger the more they trained.
Cornatto couldn’t help but chuckle a bit as to how he was about to have a little bout with Galen on the island; he guessed that he was somewhat impatient to get their training started. It had been a little while since he had sparred with anyone but Kabocha, and not only he was going to teach the human the Turtle Arts for the sake of peace and all, but admittedly also to see how strong he could become. Martial Arts were surely one of the most enjoyable practices that Corn had ever experienced; not only they were a way to further extend one’s knowledge on close quarters combat but were also capable of pulling out the best from their user.
It had been around the time that the Earthling Saiyan started training with Natto that his power suddenly began to amplify to the point where he had managed to trigger the Super Saiyan transformation. He didn’t know what sort of limits a human could break, but he was looking forward to seeing how well Galen would learn the Turtle School Arts. That far, he had certainly been doing quite well considering he had also learned the Kamehameha-- which honestly, it seemingly took the old time a remarkable amount of time. To the Saiyan, it didn’t take much but a few minutes for him to learn-- he guessed that it had been the same for Galen, but he couldn’t know. It was either a characteristic of most Saiyans, or one just had to be a fast learner to be able to learn a skill so quickly.
Either way, the man was glad that they could at least finally start sparring, once they reached the island that is. It was an empty place, with nothing else other than a few trees here and there and the tiled floor on the island that made the place look like as they built it for anyone to train without the risk of destroying anything. He didn’t know how old such a place was, while it looked like quite the traditional dojo arena, it was in good shape, and that was all that mattered-- other than the fact that they could go all out. There no one or nothing that could have gotten harmed there, so it was perfect.
Galen replied to Cornatto with the same excitement that the Saiyan felt, as both slid back in their stances-- which he supposed Galen was starting to get used to a little bit, however it was clear that he was still not experienced at all with the Turtle Style. Aside from training with Kabocha, it was admittedly Corn’s first time teaching anyone else, but he was going to make sure that Galen would learn the next steps of the Kame School!
“All right, then! Here I come!” - exclaimed the man as he floated slightly off the ground, charging towards the human as he was aiming to hit him with a haymaker in the face. It wasn’t anything way too complicated other than a little solid blow so that he could kick the human’s battle senses up and begin the training spar. However, it seemed that Galen was very well aware of what was going on already; and played it quite smartly, he had to say! By the time he was close to hitting him, the human had responded with a move that was way too familiar for the Saiyan; the Rock, Scissors’n’Paper. It was pretty much one of the first things that the Kamesennin taught Cornatto without him even noticing that he had been starting to explore further deep in his teachings, but it was quite the clever move.
The swordsman made a proper use of the technique, even if Corn was expecting both fists to clash. Instead, he directly went for the ‘Paper’ part, without hitting him in the face of course but using it so that he could block Cornatto’s haymaker. The Earthling Saiyan was somewhat surprised from the man’s counterattack, but Corn had to say that he was happy; he knew that he could teach him more than that, not only that but he also felt like he could expect Galen to take the school seriously.
However, Cornatto’s strength was still greater than Galen’s and managed to push him slightly backward. It wasn’t that big of distance, at best it was a foot or something like that. The man extended that distance as he hopped slightly away from the human, as he set a little distance between the two so that Corn could show him the next technique that he would have had to learn.
The Earthling Saiyan nodded, chuckling a bit. “Yes, it’s indeed quite the handy move! Now, let me show you one of my favorite techniques of the Turtle School-- the Super God Fist. It isn’t that complicated; I’m sure you’d be able to tell even just by watching me.” - he had said before he proceeded to execute the technique as he lifted up one hand, making sure that Galen could see it clearly but not with his eyes but rather his senses.
The man clenched his hand tightly, but aside from that, there was nothing unusual about it. But, if Galen were to be attentive enough, he could feel a noticeable amount of energy building up in his fist. To further help him, Cornatto decided to explain it anyway.
“Charge your energy inside your fist and then hit your opponent in the face! It’s simple, no? Though, you must be quick-- it’s a rush technique, after all! But if you've been focusing your ki in your blade so far, I’m sure you’ll get the hang of it quickly.” - the man said, and while he didn’t dismiss the energy from his hand, he still waited for Galen to absorb all the information Corn had given him. The Earthling Saiyan was aching for the two to keep sparring, but he needed Galen to understand how the technique worked before using it on him so that the human could then try to use it himself against the Saiyan!
“Let’s see how you handle this! Super God Fist!!” - he roared. Whether Galen had understood it or not, he decided to demonstrate how the technique worked regardless of the result of his earlier explanation, rushing off towards the man as he aimed once more to hit him in the face, but this time with a greater power.

Galen’s hand was still aching a bit from blocking Cornatto’s powerful haymaker, but the adrenaline in his bloodstream was so intense he didn’t even care; he wanted to learn more about the Turtle School, to further improve into his learning and become a better warrior and a best fist fighter. Right now he would fare much better should he have his sword by his side and, in all honest, he felt quite bothered not feeling the weight of the blade either on his hands or on his shoulders, it felt… alien, to say the least, but he knew he couldn’t hold on to those thoughts or he would get distracted and, in truth, getting distracted in a sparring session together with a martial arts master was the same as signing a defeat sentence, and he couldn’t have that, could him?
Cornatto seemed to be satisfied he showed some mastery over the Rock, Scissors’n’Paper technique and that gave him enough confidence to take this to the next level as he introduced to Galen the next technique of the Turtle School arsenal: the Super God Fist. That was quite a fancy name, truth be told and a much more serious one than the two previous techniques. Galen had made a research on what Kamehameha meant and he was quite surprised when he found out that it was, pretty much, a simple energy wave from the turtle with the flower shirt. Creative, he gave them that, but still very very weird.
So, this Super God Fist was one of his favorite techniques. ”Interesting. Let’s see what is this technique about…” he thought to himself, making a quick nod as his eyes narrowed, focusing on trying to observe every single detail in that tech’s execution. It seemed quite simple, truth be told, as Cornatto did nothing but to clench his fist really hard, but on a closer look, Galen could sense the ki flowing towards it like crazy and empowering that fist way beyond he could’ve expected. ”Wow! So much power!” he exclaimed, in awe.
Cornatto further explained the mechanics behind it and even remarked that if he had been charging his ki onto his blade it should be fairly easy for him to do the same with the fist and that was true; in order to channel the ki through the blade, it had to go through the hands. The only difference now was where to stop it. Then, to demonstrate it, Cornatto rushed towards him, fist ready as he threw the powerful technique, that hit Galen’s right on the face, making him feel some aching pain and spit quite a load of blood due to the sheer power of the punch. ”ARRGH!!” he screamed in pain as he did his best not to move, using all of his available power in order to remain on the very same spot. The effort made the titled floor beneath him crack and shatter with the shockwave of the attack, but he didn’t waste any time.
”S-super… God… FIST!” Galen charged his ki onto his right fist and, with all his resolve, he spun his hips and, taking advantage of the momentum and the proximity of Cornatto, he aimed to return the favor and throw the powerful technique right at his face. Galen’s hand glowed with a yellow ki light just before the fist was about to hit. The human was a fast learned and thanks to his way of using the blade, it was fairly easy to master this technique.
