The Soy Capital was quite different from the cities he had seen on Earth. The buildings’ shape were different; he didn’t know why but he could say that they felt kind of alien indeed if one were to compare them to the cities on Earth. But, he guessed that most Saiyans were used to that sort of atmosphere since he knew that the planet was supposed to look a lot like Vegeta-- even the crimson sky was apparently the same of the warrior race’s planet. Or well, maybe he had to say, the traditionalists’ world. After all, the Alliance was as much of a faction just like the Empire was. Just, they weren’t as ruthless and savage but rather they believed in different models that mostly no one of the Empire could have ever accepted.
Or, maybe not? Natto himself was a Commander during his time in the Empire, so he guessed that people could indeed change-- or actually, he did believe that everyone could change. It wasn’t certainly something that would happen in a day but rather something that would likely need someone to go through something capable of piercing through the person’s barriers. It didn’t obviously work that from a merciless warrior you’d suddenly turn into a buffoon wearing some hero outfit and go around, trying to do heroic deeds. It didn’t work like that for sure.
The Overseer himself had to go through some harsh stuff, or so he recalled from the time they met as he introduced himself and his case to the Earthling Saiyan, who after hearing him, decided to join him on his ‘journey’ to making a place for all Saiyans to live and reside. It was supposed to be an Outpost on Earth, however, after some issues with the Guardian of Earth, they were forced to get off her planet. But at least they had managed to find a whole world for themselves, and as such, they had managed to grow into something bigger-- and anyone could still see how good it had worked out. Maybe it had turned out for the better, or so Cornatto thought, as he walked the streets of the Capital.
The blue dressed Saiyan looked like some contrast compared to the others Saiyans who wore armor, but regardless of that, he seemed well welcomed enough-- maybe because of his strength and rank, yes, but it had a different feeling that what one would get on Vegeta. Most of the people who were powerful enough to be considered Elite under Vegetean standards were usually looked up at with fear, and it was something that Corn would have never wanted anyone to do with him.
He didn’t mind anyone’s respect, but he wouldn’t have sure minded having a friendly conversation rather than speaking of paperwork most of the time! That stuff was annoying, but he guessed that he had to do his part as a Major, too. Not to mention that not all the Saiyans on Natto were ‘good,' so to say, some of them weren’t exactly easy to deal with-- he could completely understand that. They weren’t anything like the Saiyan Empire, but they were still Saiyans, it wasn’t like they could change out of nowhere, so he was all right with that as long as they weren’t anything like the imperial Saiyans.
Speaking of them, they were supposedly going to be fighting them in a war anytime soon. Cornatto didn’t know the exact details, but he was aware that it would have happened earlier than he had expected-- as such the man had been trying to increase his battle power as much as he could before the day. He had never imagined that he would have fought in a war, that was true, and he had mixed feelings about the whole thing.
From a part, that meant he’d have had to fight strong opponents, and the idea excited him, but on the other part, that was also supposed to mean that there’d have been much bloodshed on both side. He was admittedly doubtful and uncertain as to what he’d have done; how could he ever kill those many warriors without feeling any regret?!
It was beyond Corn; he wasn’t that kind of Saiyan who would ruthlessly kill anything standing in their way-- the only way that might have ever pushed him to do such a thing was anger and the urge to kill to do a greater good for the innocent.
It was difficult for him; he just didn’t know how to feel about all of that. But, he guessed that he’d have likely just pushed the thought aside from the moment-- in his usual careless and playful way, he thought that it might have been better for him to focus on training that day. It’d have still taken a bit for the whole conflict to happen anyways, so he had more than enough time to think about it thoroughly and either way, he still wanted to get stronger so that he could have done his best to assist the Alliance!
Either way, he quickly caught sight of the Council-- and as such, that meant the training hall was nearby as well. Last time Corn had been there, he had got damaged quite a lot by training with Natto, but he had imagined that would have happened! He had been in the medical bay, but he was now fine, and after training a little more by himself, he had managed to raise his power level even further! He wasn’t still a match to Natto, but it was still a noticeable difference nonetheless.
Cornatto had been waiting for them to train again, so not only he had been training so that he could get even stronger but he also reviewed the fundamentals of the style just like the Overseer had asked him to. It had become somewhat natural for Cornatto considering it was stuff Natto had taught him already, but it helped him to sit down and freshen his memory on the basics. Though, he also hoped that Natto was planning to teach him something new, too!
The Earthling Saiyan cracked a grin, taking off as he floated to the Soy Training Hall. He was excited! He couldn’t wait to train with his friend again, even if he, he had the slightest hope that Nasu wouldn’t be there this time too.
“Here we are!” - Corn said to himself as he lowered down in front of the training hall entrance, stepping inside.

This time neither the child Nasu nor Natto were in the Soy Training Hall yet. The place seemed absurdly empty, truth be told, but as Cornatto got inside of it, a shadow lurked behind him and, without exerting any ki energy at all, the person aimed to throw a powerful punch at him from behind, aiming at his kidney to cause some serious, excruciating pain, but no real lasting damage. It was some sort of test, a very difficult one indeed, but still a test. Cornatto would either take the strike or react to it, but, in any case, the person would quickly vanish and reappear on top of the titled floor of the Soy Training Hall, with arms folded. It was one of the councilors of the Saiyan Alliance, and Colonel of their armies: Karota, the hybrid saiyaness.
”I’ve been watching you train, Major. And, honestly, I don’t know if I approve of you learning the final techniques of the Soy School. Natto is way too kind with people and, even though I like you, Cornatto, you still need to proof yourself to me.” she said, cracking a grin with the corner of her mouth. ”I can relate to you. We were both born on Earth and originally acted as their protectors, until those bastards decided to turn us into persona non grata due to our blood alone, so… Let me ask you this. Where does your faith lie on? What is that that you believe in? What is your emotional fuel? Who are you, Cornatto? And when I ask you that, I want you to answer with both words and fists! So… Are you ready, kiddo?” she asked him, chuckling a bit as she slid into a perfected Soy School fighting stance.
The moment Cornatto stepped inside the hall, it was quite clear that he was apparently the only one inside which had not surprised him that much. He hadn’t felt anyone’s ki in the whereabouts before he was about to step inside, so it was safe to assume that there was no one else inside. It hadn’t been the first time that he didn’t find Natto inside right from the beginning, but he was a busy person-- after all, Natto was the Overseer, and he had an entire faction to look after.
Thankfully he wasn’t alone else it would have surely been harder for him to show up to train, so he was likely expecting him to join Cornatto anytime soon. It was kind of refreshing that Nasu wasn’t there for once, though, the kid wasn’t the most sociable person in the world and admittedly a troublemaker, too. Corn always hoped that the boy would soften up a bit like his father but he guessed that Nasu was too much of an energetic kid or stuff like that, but it was admittedly strange that Nasu wouldn’t be there to train like the other times he was there.
“Huh… did I come even earlier than usual?” - he muttered under his breath, his eyes wandering the empty halls of the dojo as he was just wondering whether he should have started training by himself or just wait for Natto to show up. Maybe he could have used the chance to go through the Soy Arts basics all over again, but Corn didn’t know why he should have; he had been doing plenty of that in the latest days, so he thought that it would have had little effect on his training.
Corn was one to put a lot of effort in his stuff-- even if it came to read lots of paperwork, as much dull as it could be. Thankfully, he didn’t have to go through that a lot-- not as much as his good old pal Natto and the other Councilors, but still he couldn’t pass up on his duties as a Major just because he didn’t feel like it. The same was for his training; the only difference was that he enjoyed it and as much as he thought greatly of Natto’s teachings, he had gone through them the other day and spent quite a lot of his time training so that he’d be ready for the next day. He doubted that doing that all over again would have helped him any more than what he had done already.
However, before Corn could decide on something, a person decided to make their move and suddenly hit him with a powerful punch at his kidney, causing some huge amount of pain but no real damage considering it was only a sensation that it would have faded away with some time. The Earthling Saiyan felt it nonetheless and grunted, his instincts bringing him to turn around and use his hand to take hold of the person. So that he could keep them from moving, running away or anything like that but by the time he launched his hand forth to grab the unknown aggressor, he found no one.
“W-what…” - he muttered under his breath, blinking as he was evidently confused. As much as he didn’t even have the time to express his pain, he had admittedly thought that it could have been some guy who had sneaked in the Capital-- maybe from the Empire but yet he saw nothing around other than himself.
“No way this could be my imagination… Argh! Whoever it is, they sure know where to hit their opponent.” - he thought to himself; his sore expression was enough to show off that what he thought was true; it was obviously not going to leave a sign or anything, but it was still a sensible spot nonetheless, but just like the pain hit him, it’d eventually go away.
A voice that called him out by his rank caught his attention, and he lifted up his gaze so that he could look at the Saiyan female who had just hit him out of nowhere for reasons that Cornatto ignored. It was Karota, the Colonel of the Army and pretty much one of the strongest Saiyans in the Alliance. He didn’t know what she was up to, but it seemed that she was looking for some sort of proof that Corn was good enough to master the Soy Arts, and that brought him to raise a brow as he just stared at her.
“Karota?... What do you mean?” - he asked with a curious tone, and while Karota was grinning, Corn just stared at her confusedly.
The woman spoke of how the two were somewhat alike considering both had come from Earth and acted like their heroes back then. He couldn’t help but feel like she was indeed speaking the truth; because it was just like what she said, unfortunately shortly after the invasion they were sent off the planet just because of their blood. Corn didn’t hold a grudge against the Guardian of Earth, but he missed his homeworld, although he decided to follow Natto nonetheless.
And that was pretty much what Karota’s questions were supposed to mean, more or less. But, he couldn’t help but just sigh to himself a little bit, scratching the back of his neck.
“Eh?... You too, Colonel? People sure like asking me these questions nowadays.” - he stated, evidently still remembering his little bout with Cervez and when he asked him those questions during their beam struggle. He didn’t know why the woman wanted to know all of that but all he could gather from it was that she wanted to test him, and if she wanted to go at it, Corn was all for it.
His painful expression turned into one of excitement, cracking the smirk of a warrior as he was feeling quite eager to exchange fists with the Colonel! She was quite strong, so he was sure that it would have been quite a challenge for him to stand up against, but that only made things much better! He didn’t know how much of a chance he had in a fight against her, but he was going to give it his all. Cornatto, who had been holding his side because of her punch, straightened his posture and slammed his fist against the other.
“Hehe, I’m not one to give out big speeches and all, Karota… so I’ll let my fists speak for me. But so that you know, my faith lies on Natto and thus every member of the Alliance!” - he exclaimed, switching to his experienced Soy School fighting stance; it was not nearly as refined as Karota’s, but she could probably tell that he was something more than a beginner. “Here I come!”
And then, Cornatto floated off the ground and charged at the fellow Saiyan Warrior, aiming to strike at her with a series of blows and kicks, evidently showcasing the School’s aggressive style.

Karota managed to catch him off guard and that brought her quite a lot of satisfaction: she was growing older and still had it. It was tough to be reminded of her age, but just staring at her kids growing into teens was enough to make her self-aware of that fact. Still, Cornatto seemed like a rather jolly fellow and wanted to answer her questions with his fists instead, which she deeply respected as she made clear with a quick nod of her head. ”Well then, show me the power of your resolve, kiddo!” she said, chuckling a bit as she slid into the Soy School fighting stance. ”But I’ve gotta say… This Soy School of yours… It’s rather clumsy and rigid, don’t you think?! Nothing like our earthling style, but it’s worthy in the end… The power that it hides is… Uncanny!” she revealed, smirking with the corner of her mouth as Cornatto charged against her, aiming to throw a series of blows and kicks at her.
Still, Karota was fast and without wasting any time, she began blocking and dodging every single hit. She was much faster than Cornatto and was making it sound rather easy. ”Hahaha, Cornatto, you still lack finesse! Your moves are even more clumsy than normal Soy School moves are! Hahaha! You look like a handicapped Natto now! But I will show you something cool!” she said, chuckling a bit more as she somersaulted backwards, putting some distance in between them. Her ki suppression was lifted now and she finally revealed all of her power as she prepared to charge forward with a quite powerful attack. ”Soy School ultimate attack…” she announced, pausing briefly. ”Final Revenger!” she exclaimed as she clenched both her fists and got into melee range with Cornatto at an amazing speed.
First, she aimed to punch him right in the face with a haymaker with her right hand. Should it succeed, it would be immediately followed by a reverse side kick, aiming for his chin with the goal of sending him up into the air in a vulnerable position. ”Natto created this attack for Lettis herself!” she revealed before bursting towards Cornatto, further punching him high into the air. Next she would attempt to grab him by the head and leap over behind him to knee strike him in the kidneys, causing some serious pain and further sending him high up in the air, getting dangerously close to the dome. Finally, Karota flew at top speed, getting herself above Cornatto and aiming to strike him with a double axe handle, punching him down towards the titled floor below, thus finishing her deadly combo.

The man wasn’t still way too sure as to why Karota wanted to fight him-- he guessed that she wanted to test him, yes but why only when he had seemingly arrived that far? By what she had mentioned, it seemed that it would have only taken him relatively little for him to master the Soy School teachings, which somewhat made him feel proud of his achievements; he had also improved in strength quite a little bit thanks to the last time he trained with Natto. He was pretty much happy with himself but little he knew that the woman whom he was about to face was about two times stronger than him; which he couldn’t tell since the woman had great mastery over her ki and as such she could suppress it pretty quickly, and almost entirely.
However, it was known to most of the Alliance how strong Karota was-- Cornatto just didn’t know the exact estimation. But, he knew it wouldn’t have been easy for him to get out of it without having to go through a lot of pain, still, if she insisted so much, he was going to step up his game and do his best to fight her!
“I will!” - he stated. Both warriors proceeded to assume the Soy fighting stance; the man’s knees were slightly bent, his arm placed close to the body and the fist completely closed. He lifted up his other hand up to his face, half-clenching it as he focused on Karota who was seemingly pretty sure of herself but also she gave some good insight on the Soy fighting style. It was indeed rough compared to the earthling way, which he hadn’t ever been formally instructed on, but one just had to take in consideration one thing; how did humans act?
Most of the time, humans weren’t interested in battling just for the sake of a good fight but rather for other reasons such as self-defense, or maybe defending someone else dear to them. Then there were others who just showed off all the time with fancy fighting styles that could be countered easily with the raw strength that a Saiyan possessed, but he didn’t consider them as martial artists but rather just exhibitionists. Plus, they weren’t as aggressive as a Saiyan warrior, so it was unlikely that their martial arts could be anything like the Soy school.
The Soy Arts leaned on the offensive side of fighting, indeed. But one had to say, that it hid incredible power behind its teachings; Cornatto himself had improved a lot just by training with Natto. Honestly, the man couldn’t say that he had ever delivered a blow as strong as he did whenever he’d strike with the art of the Soy, so he couldn’t help but feel like Karota was indeed right despite his discrete knowledge on the Earthling martial arts.
“Heh, yeah. I guess so, though it unleashes out all of your hidden power into each strike.” - he replied. But it was no more time for having friendly conversations and all, even if martial arts were the topic; he was more interested in fighting Karota at the moment, admittedly. He guessed that he was more of a Saiyan than he ever thought, for his blood was starting to boil at the anticipation of fighting a strong foe such as her.
The Earthling Saiyan charged at her, bringing his arms back and forth as he attempted to hit her and see if he could push her back, unfortunately, much to his-- actually, he wasn’t even that surprised. He had expected the woman to have an advantage over him; and while he wasn’t way too sure about the lady’s power before, after her performance of blocking and dodging all of his hits, he could safely tell that he was right. Karota was strong! She didn’t even look like she was putting effort into this, as she even mocked the Saiyan without letting the Saiyan grasp the smallest of openings. Despite the fact that Cornatto had been missing every single hit, he didn’t seem discouraged at all, but rather he continued but without much of a result as she set a little distance between the two.
“Handicapped Natto? Hehe, that’s new.” - he said, chuckling a bit as he found it funny himself, however, he was curious to see what she meant by showing him something cool. But it didn’t take long for her to lift up her ki suppression, which let Corn feel a genuine extent of her power; she was incredibly strong! She wasn’t nearly as powerful as Natto, but it’d have been difficult for the Saiyan to keep up with her-- even in his Super Saiyan form considering she’d just tap into her golden power, so it was pretty much useless trying to gain an advantage with the fabled transformation.
But, he had to say, that he was happy that he could get to face a strong opponent like her.
Cornatto widened his eyes in shock as he heard her mention Soy School Ultimate attack-- he was expecting all sort of things to happen at that point, and without even seeing her. She appeared at high speed in front of him, hitting with a haymaker that caused him to scream in pain before she followed with a reverse sidekick and one more punch in the chin, sending him flying away. But she didn’t stop there but also cause him a huge pain in the kidneys that crippled his entire body as he spit some blood and then she continued to send him further up in the air until she struck him with a double axe handle, making him hit the ground pretty hard.
The impact lifted up a lot of debris, and Cornatto looked painful, but he wasn’t nearly done as he forced himself to stand up as he took quick, deep breaths. He felt that a lot, he could see why that was the Soy School’s ultimate attack, but now that Karota had shown him, he was going to return the favor with all of his strength!
“Is that so? Hahaha… not bad at all, but now it’s my turn!” - he exclaimed, his ghostly white aura flaring around him fiercely as he clenched both fists tightly. “Soy School ultimate attack…” - he muttered under his breath before he floated off the ground at high speed and charged at the Saiyaness. “FINAL REVENGER!!! HAAAHHH!!” - he roared, aiming to hit her with a haymaker and then follow up with a reverse side kick and then he would go for a uppercut, sending her flying away.
He’d imitate what she did earlier and grab her head, leaping over her and then strike her with his knee; sending her flying further up in the air and then finish the combo with a double axe handle, aiming to strike her to the ground.

If anything, Cornatto could definitely take a punch but, at this point, it came as no surprise to Karota; he had been sparring with Natto left and right, wasn’t him? If anything could bring you up a notch that was precisely it. She had even heard he had been able to become a fully powered super saiyan, and that was quite a feat, something that took people years’ worth of training without the proper instruction, but he had a pretty decent instruction. Even though Natto wasn’t the best teacher or the more knowledgeable one, he was still pretty decent and he truly put himself into teaching, and that was a quality to be admired, she had to give him that.
Anyway, after Cornatto got back on his feet, Karota opened up her arms and chuckled in a cocky tone. ”Alright, show me what you’ve learned, because if I try to dodge your slow charge, I most definitely will… Hehehe!” she teased him as she opened her guard and allowed Cornatto to charge against her and hit her hard with his haymaker to the face. It wasn’t quite as bad as her attacks were, but he was still pretty decent himself, maybe she should start giving him some more credit as he was coming a long way from a low warrior to a true martial artist. She was proud of him in a sense, it was good to have strong friends and that filled her up with hope for the success of the Saiyan Alliance; maybe Natto’s dream wasn’t an utopia after all, maybe they could really do it and create a society where saiyans could just live without worrying about their enemies and never ending wars.
Of course the future would proof her wrong and take everything away from her: her husband, her twin kids, a lot of her friends and eventually even more, but, for now, Karota still had plenty of hope and happiness in her heart soon to be shattered. The future can be really dark sometimes and the ignorance of its fate was truly a bliss.
After taking multiple hits, she was sent toward the ground, but she landed with her knee and feet, just like the super hero landing and, although she has bruised a bit, she stared at Cornatto with a cocky smirk in the corner of her mouth. ”Not bad, kiddo. Not bad at all… I actually felt that one! Hehehe!” she said while she slowly got back up to her feet and cracked her neck and fists, getting ready to continue their training. ”Now you probably mastered all there is to know about fighting in the Soy style. Disappointing, but that’s just it. Maybe if you had enrolled in the Wolf Style you could get a proper martial arts training… But now I think you are ready to understand the real ace of this clumsy style… But, obviously, you will need to catch your breath… So, chill out for a bit, unless you actually have a spine and wish to recover while exchanging blows with me. Not a wise choice, but one I can respect. Your call, in the end!” she said, folding her arms and swaying her tail from one side to the other, looking forward for his answer.
The pain was still there. Obviously, it wasn’t like he could just utterly ignore the pain inflicted by Karota’s combination move-- else it’d have been pretty much abnormal for anyone to withstand a hit like that as if it were nothing. However, Cornatto had admittedly gotten somewhat used to getting hit that hard after training with Natto-- though, he had to be careful if he didn’t want his wounds to get worse than what the woman had already caused. He was pretty sure that he could have managed to keep up without too much of an issue aside from the pain that the Colonel’s Final Revenger caused. It was quite a move, though.
It was sort of interesting as to how most techniques seemed to come out of the Alliance’s conflict with the Empire-- which was fair because the group was born out of a revolutionary force from the evil Empire’s ways. Still, it admittedly made him chuckle as to how both the Rebellious Spear and the Final Revenger were apparently made to face the Queen Lettis in a battle. Such an act that would have probably offended her in some mysterious way or the other. He couldn’t know, thank Kami, Cornatto didn’t know the Queen that much aside from a few things he heard. He only knew that she was supposedly very strong, which sort of made sense considering she led the Empire, but again he didn’t respect her that much. Or rather, not at all.
As for Karota, he did respect her-- and not only because of her rank which, to be honest, not even Cornatto gave much importance to-- none at all. He was friendly with most people, no matter what their rank was. But also her power was something that he had only heard of a little, it was something that he inspired to reaching sooner or later. Or well, the sooner, the better-- Corn was sure that if he continued training at the same pace he had been that far, he’d eventually reach and eventually surpass her. As of the moment, though, he didn’t seem that battered by her superior strength but rather excited to keep fighting. It was also amazing that the Alliance had managed to bring together, so many strong people and some of them were pretty friendly too.
The Earthling Saiyan himself expected the Saiyans to go quite far from there, and not only to defeat their counterpart-- the Empire but also to manage to build up a community where all Saiyans would be welcome. He knew that such a thing could be impossible because not all Saiyans were alike, and while Cornatto and the others were good hearted, not everyone was like that but rather maintained their natural behavior. Although it was something he had somewhat expected ever since the beginning, he guessed that it was all right as long as everyone else followed the same goal.
Poor Corn. He had no idea of the future, nor did he even want to imagine any of those things to ever happen; including the death of the Overseer, of course, a good friend and plenty of other events that currently Cornatto apparently ignored. To be honest, just like Karota, he hoped that everything would go fine without too much of an issue. He knew that their enemies were probably strong, maybe even stronger, but he was pretty much sure that they could handle them just fine. Especially with the power of the Soy School, and all of their allies in one single battlefield. He hoped that they could win.
It didn’t take long for the Saiyan to take her advice and immediately charge at her, with his fist placed forward as he hit her with a strong haymaker and then he slightly leaned backward as he swiftly rose one leg from the ground and used it to reverse side kick his opponent. But that was just the beginning of the combination as he sent her flying away with an uppercut.
“Yeah! Like that, and now…” - he thought to himself and glanced at the fellow Saiyan as he took off and launched himself at Karota. His hands reached for her head as he leaped over her and then strike her with a powerful knee strike to her back. Such hit only made her fly further up in the air, but he quickly followed and sent her to the ground with a double axe handle to the head.
It seemed that the combination move had been successful, but despite that, it didn’t have the same result it had on the Saiyan as the female quickly landed on her knee and feet. Without too much of an issue either while earlier, she had managed to shortly put Cornatto down to the ground with her Final Revenger. However, better than nothing. His expression brightened up slightly as she acknowledged his technique, smirking a bit.
“Hahaha… that was quite intense!” - he stated, still inhaling as deep as he could before letting all of it out. It was evident that he was trying to catch his breath in the shortest time possible, he didn’t feel like having to make his opponent wait for him to recover even if it wouldn’t have hurt him to chill out even for just a minute. He floated down to the ground, standing as he stared at Karota with both his arms folded over his chest.
“Huh?” - he muttered in evident amazement. He didn’t expect that he had seriously just taken that much of a step into the style but Cornatto was glad that he had finally managed to get that far with his martial arts training, it was a good result and one that he wouldn’t forget in his life. But, still it seemed that there was something more than that; she described it as the Ace of the Soy style and at that point, he was admittedly curious to find out!
“Well, I hadn’t expected that! But, I guess it’s good to know that I’ve learned all of the stuff I had to, then. I am quite curious to know about this ace, though! What is it?” - he asked curiously, his head slightly tilted to the side as he stared at her with an arched eyebrow. She had also suggested taking a little break, but he didn’t want to. On the other hand, he wanted to keep fighting. He could see where she was coming from, though. He had used up a lot of stamina for that one attack, and he could barely get himself to attack again after that with the same strength, but he thought that they could just keep it going for a little bit before focusing on the last part of their training.
“I’m not the wisest person, I guess! Hehe, I’d rather keep fighting, Karota! Maybe without flashing out our moves like we just did, but I’m pretty sure we can exchange blows for a little while.” - he replied.
Then, he bent both his arms at a ninety angle degree and unleashed his ghostly-white aura, but it lasted only for a few moments before it turned golden. Such change was shortly followed by both his hair and eyebrow that suddenly became brighter, not only that but his hairstyle changed as well.

“Let’s take this up to the next level!” - he exclaimed with excitement in his teal eyes, eager for both fighters to battle in their Super Saiyan forms.

Cornatto’s ascension to the super saiyan state made Karota chuckle. The saiyaness folded her arms in front of her chest and touched her lips with her right index finger, leaning her head to the side as she evaluated his current power level and that made her blood rush quite a bit; he was indeed a powerful warrior and his boost from the legendary form compared to Natto’s own, meaning he was indeed being well trained. It was a shame, she thought, that he did not choose the Wolf School instead, it would fit his earthen style much more, but everyone was free to choose, weren’t them? In any case, Karota effortlessly ascended into her fully powered super saiyan form too, making her hair grow spiked, but without losing her temper, showing she too was capable of showing true mastery over the form.
[Super Saiyan Full Power PL: 2,800,000]
Her power level was pretty much at the same level as Cornatto, even though she was much stronger than he was in base form. There were rumors that hybrids, while having some sort of crazy power from birth, couldn’t achieve the same raw strength of a pure blooded saiyan. That, or maybe Karota was holding back on her power so that she wouldn’t crush Cornatto right away. It was known that the hybrid Colonel of the Saiyan Alliance was capable of achieving the legendary super saiyan two transformation, the very same transformation that Natto first unlocked when, as a Commander of the Saiyan Empire’s Army, he decided to turn against his faction and protect Earth. This form was the one that allowed him to protect the Earth and, even though now more people had reached it, it was still something absurdly rare and to be feared.
”Alright, kiddo. You earned it. I will go Super Saiyan against you. Shame that’s still me holding back… Otherwise I would end up crushing you way too much and that would get in the way of your lesson.” she shrugged, chuckling in a teasing tone for a second. Then, Karota slid into a new fighting stance, much different from before, less ferocious but much wilder. Her hands were in the shape of a claw, and she her left foot only touched the ground with its tip. ”Let’s see how a new master of the Soy School fares against the Wolf School. That’s your true test of strength. If you don’t pass out, I may teach you the thing that makes the Soy School worthwhile!” she said with a smirk in the corner of her mouth.
Then Karota vanished and at the same instant reappeared on Cornatto’s left side, aiming to strike him with a powerful claw strike with her strong fingers right at his face. ”Maybe I will leave a scar and make you look a bit more like Natto! Hehehe!” she further teased him as she aimed for her strike. She didn’t seem to be tired at all.
It was easy to tell from Cornatto’s looks that he had managed to master the Super Saiyan form, mostly thanks to Natto and his instructions which had guided him during the whole training session they’ve had that other time. It seemed that Karota’s challenge had ultimately turned into more than just a test as the Saiyaness had ended up teaching Corn the last of the Soy techniques aside from its ‘ace’ which Cornatto wasn’t aware of but he was interested to hear as to what it could ever be.
Cornatto’s transformation didn’t seem to impress Karota at first, or that’s what he could tell at least, but his power was indeed not one to ignore even if he was pretty sure that the hybrid could pull out more power than he could ever have. It wasn’t that much a matter of blood-- or well, he was aware that some hybrids were somewhat weaker because of the human blood-- but when it came to their base power level, Karota’s was the biggest out of the two. There was no way that Corn could have ever reached her power level in their Super Saiyan form.
Not to mention that many were aware of the woman’s ascended form; the Super Saiyan two. Cornatto himself wasn’t all that sure as to how one would exactly achieve it, but he did know that his power was nowhere enough even to try tapping into it, so he wouldn’t have achieved anything at the moment even if he had tried. His best chance was to keep training and get stronger as quick as possible. He was sure that he would have managed to turn into one pretty soon anyway.
But still, once Karota transformed into a Super Saiyan, Corn was somewhat surprised at first as he took note of her power; they were more or less equals. He couldn’t exactly find a reason as to why this was even possible until he realized that it likely had to do with her hybrid blood or maybe she was suppressing her energy. He guessed that it was probably the latter. After all, she was a master in such field as she had easily managed to hide from Cornatto’s senses earlier when she struck the Saiyan the moment he stepped into the building.
Karota later confirmed that it was indeed the second option as Karota was holding back. He had to say, that despite the news of her holding back Cornatto was excited to fight someone that strong. He wasn’t way too amazed at her power output not only because they were equals in power level at the moment, but he had felt way stronger auras in his life-- one of them was Natto’s who didn’t usually hold back during their spars, so he was more or less used to it.
“Hehe, awesome. Unfortunately, I fear you’ll indeed have to hold back a bit! I’m used to it-- Natto doesn’t usually hold back, but you know… I’m very curious to learn this ace,” - he said before he switched into the Soy School’s fighting stance again with a confident smirk on his face. “but, I'm sure we’ll get to fight on fair grounds at full power sooner or later!” - he exclaimed.
Then, the Saiyaness herself slid into a combative stance, but this one was very different from the Soy school one. He didn’t know which one it was supposed to be, but by what the woman had mentioned earlier, he guessed that it might have had something to do with her Wolf style. After all, it looked kind of a fierce fighting stance and wolves were ferocious, so it was pretty easy to add up the two facts. “I’m curious to find out! I won’t pass out so easily.”
The Earthling Saiyan was curious after hearing that much about this ace that it was left for him to learn. Earlier, Karota had mentioned many times how the Soy School was clumsy and all but yet she seemed to hold great regard towards this ace of sorts, so he imagined that it was supposed to be something amazing if it were that good it could turn a clumsy style into a worthwhile martial art.
Karota made the first move as she vanished out of nowhere and then reappeared at Cornatto’s left side, apparently going for a strike at his face. The Earthling Saiyan somewhat chuckled at her phrase, as he saw her attack coming and decided to respond to her claw strike with his fist, aiming for it to clash against Karota’s own.

Cornatto was better than she had expected and, against all odds, he managed to quickly react and counter her claw attack with a punch of his own and, although the attacks had roughly the same speed and power, her fingers were a bit sore after the clash while his fist seemed annoyingly alright, making the saiyaness leap backwards and narrow her teal colored eyes, analyzing him. His mastery over the Soy School was quite impressive, she had to give him that and right now, if they were to fight with their fists alone, there would be no victor for quite a while, but ultimately she would defeat him because, after all, he did tire faster than her due to his lack of training and experience. However, for Karota, winning a battle because of that was quite humiliating and, since they both seemed to be quite recovered from their previous tiredness, she felt it was enough for now and folded her arms, making a brief nod to the fellow super saiyan.
”Impressive. At this level you would put up a fight for an annoyingly long time and, truth be told, I don’t have the time to waste in a fight that would last for hours, if not for days.” she stated in a rather annoyed tone, but this was enough of a recognition, more than most would get from the Colonel of the Saiyan Alliance. Karota sighed and then made a brief nod as she managed to crack a smirk with the corner of her mouth. ”Alright then, I think you are ready to learn the secret technique of the Soy School, so, I will warn you… This attack will make a hell of a number on one of us, so I’m willing to use quite a powerful technique.” she warned him, pausing for a second. ”You see, the secret technique is not a technique per say. Rather, it’s a mean to power up your technique to a point no one else can. The secret behind this technique is the bonds with your fellow saiyan comrades. The more, the merrier. When your soul can connect with theirs, you will feel an impressive surge of power within your ki and will be able to pour it into the technique you are charging. Now, try and feel that energy around you, look who is around!” and once she said that, she closed her eyes.
Whenever Cornatto did the same, he would be able to feel that Natto and Nasu were there, inside the Soy Training Hall, watching him fight. And although the younger saiyan disliked Cornatto, he would still see him as a comrade given the circumstances and once Cornatto managed to understand that he would be able to feel not only their power, but Karota’s own ki energy too and this energy was possible to harvest and make his own. ”It’s the Spirit of the Saiyans.” she added.
Karota’s Stamina 3/4 > 4/4 Teaching [ULTIMATE] Spirit of the Saiyans
Karota was known to have already surpassed the Super Saiyan form, so Corn had no expectations actually to defeat her in an actual fight. But he could sure hope to at least being able to entertain her for a while; their power wasn't even that distant even if he suspected that she might have been suppressing it. She was both a Super Saiyan two and a quite capable when it came to controlling energy; after all, she did strike him from behind without him noticing her signature at all when he had arrived in the training hall.
Either way, he was more than sure the tricks she had just taught him would have gotten in handy and with those new moves in particular, to him, it felt like the Soy Arts were easier than before.
Cornatto was still raw compared to a master like herself, but he had learned all that he could have other than the ‘secret technique’ so to say, but there was time for that. As of now, it seemed that it was necessary to recover a little bit of stamina beforehand, and so he tried to use as less stamina as possible.
Such was also a good tip for battle; for a person to use as less stamina as possible while attacking was probably the best thing they could do. Else, the match would have been over rather quickly if you were to just launch powerful techniques one after the other without thinking about the consequences. The Earthling Saiyan himself used certain techniques only for when it was meant to hurt the most, and the Soy Arts always put brute force above actual Martial Arts like the Earthlings’. He could understand what Karota meant earlier.
Cornatto’s eyes immediately focused on the incoming warrior; she was supposedly about to strike him with her claw attack. He didn’t know much about her martial arts at all, but she resembled a canine creature; as if it were wolf-based, which would have been rather fitting considering she used to be an Earthling herself. “I suppose that’s what she means by how different the Earthling Martial Arts are…” - he thought to himself. Funnily enough, he’d come to understand it more in depth after like thirty or so, years? Something around that, maybe a little less! Either way, at the moment he couldn’t just allow himself to be absent-minded while the enemy was about to land a hit on him.
Thankfully, his speed and newly found prowess with his physical abilities were fast enough to intercept her attack as he swiftly lifted up his arm, his fist aiming towards her as he made sure to throw a punch with as much momentum as he could create at the moment.
The two strikes were both quite powerful, but in the end, it was Cornatto’s that majorly fought back against the other and ultimately managed to deal some damage through shock. He had gone far with the whole martial arts stuff! If that technique was the one thing left for him to learn, then he guessed that he had probably mastered the style, at that point he would have likely just had to practice a little more and get more used to it. That was why in a fight he would have probably ended up losing against the Colonel; she was far more acquainted with martial arts than him.
He didn’t know how long he would have lasted in a fistfight against the Colonel either; he knew she was still holding back; she was capable of turning into a Super Saiyan Two, after all. A form he was still far from achieving, but he was sure he would have managed, in one way or the other. So he was pretty sure she could have easily won if she were to further transform into the next form, either way, she acknowledged his strength, and he was glad to hear that.
“Hehe, I know! We both wouldn’t have time for that, but I’m pretty sure we would last a while in these forms if we were to fight.” - he replied, while her tone was rather annoyed his own was quite cheerful as always. But then, he turned a little more serious as he made sure to pay attention to the Colonel’s instructions on the Soy Arts’ ultimate technique. It was quite amusing, he had certainly expected some physical attack, but this power up technique could be useful! Especially if they were to fight a war, which would have happened soon.
So, Corn guessed he would have likely needed that technique on the battlefield and in the future. Not to mention that it sounded very cool, too. He nodded, placing his hands on his hips as he listened to how this technique worked as a whole-- she called it Spirit of the Saiyans. He could sort of understand and picture how it worked.
The male closed his eyes, too, following her instructions. His eyes were closed, but he could accurately feel the energy of those around and much to his amusement, there were also Natto and Nasu, which he had not noticed until then. To him, he pictured his soul as a weak source of light that quickly ran into others lights that he imagined as the others' souls. They created a link between each one of them and every time it did, the light of his soul would grow stronger until it had connected with each one of the warriors inside the room.
His energy had perked up; it wasn’t so much about power level but rather his ki which was sparkling under the form of a teal-colored aura around his body. His eyes slowly slid open, staring at the palms of his hands for a brief moment as he took note of the difference; however, it’d have been wasted energy if he weren’t to use it to power up technique.
“This is the Spirit of the Saiyans, huh… Well, I think I got it! What’s next step?”

Karota stared right at Cornatto with her emerald eyes as she watched him trying to master the Ultimate skill of the Soy School. When he finally managed to interact with the energy from those bonds, she chuckled a bit and, replying to his question, she smirked. ”Now you pour that energy into one technique you know and you will be able to empower it far beyond its limits!” and as an example, Karota held her hands together and started charging a blue-colored energy sphere. ”Kame…” she started, chuckling a bit. ”Hame…” right at this point, Cornatto could feel the energy of the bonds mingling together with her technique and the color changed from blue to teal, like the eyes of a super saiyan. Behind Karota, he could see for a second the image of a Great Ape roaring in fury.
”Dad, what technique is that?!” the young Nasu asked in awe as he had never seen so much power and finesse in an energy attack. ”That, Nasu, is the Kamehameha, one of the strongest techniques I have ever seen. The Guardian of Earth used that attack against me once… And so did Totoma.” Natto said, patting Nasu’s head with his left hand as he watched Karota and Cornatto about to clash. ”Impressive… But I will develop a stronger technique than that! You will see!” the boy said with a fiery determination and Natto chuckled. ”I’m sure you will, son! But let’s watch it for now!” and the kid nodded.
As she finally finished charging the attack, Karota pushed her hands forward, aiming at Cornatto and fired the teal colored and absurdly powerful energy wave. ”HA!!!!” she shouted and the energy pierced right through the air at an amazing speed.
How would Cornatto respond to that attack?
Karota’s Stamina 4/4 > 1/4 [OT-3] Kamehameha Fullpower + [ULTIMATE] Spirit of the Saiyans for 200% = PL 5,600,000
The Earthling Saiyan couldn’t help but be indeed surprised; he would have never expected such a technique even to be possible. Maybe it was his fault for not having done his home world, but he didn’t know about Spirit of the Saiyans before or at least he didn’t exactly remember anyone using it unless he must have missed it.
But he could tell just how powerful of a boost this could be; it wasn’t only just a matter of the opponent being outnumbered, but now it was also all about your numbers. If you had strong allies, more power would come from it too. Actually no. It wasn’t even a matter of that, but rather kin; he could indeed feel the power of Karota, Natto, and Nasu but he could always feel their Saiyan aura.
At times, it was just that easy to understand the difference between an Earthling and a Saiyan. Some people could tell whether one was a Saiyan just by sensing them which was effectively an impressive deed, he didn’t think that many could arrange it without having first met a handful of them. Although, in most cases, it was quite easy to realize only by interacting with them. Not many Earthlings showed off the same battle lust after all, and in the worst case scenario, there was more than just a strong desire to fight; at times, Saiyans were brutal enough not to care for their enemies and kill them right away.
It was a practice that Cornatto didn’t agree with, and supposedly it was because of how he was raised. Both being born on Earth and also raised without being put into some strange incubator, he didn’t match the typical Saiyan standard but rather the Empire would have likely considered Corn to be flawed because of such an inane reason as not being raised into a monster. But honestly?
Corn couldn’t be more thankful for that; thankfully he got himself into something much better than some merciless Empire. It was a fortune for him to end up not only on Earth but also to have met Natto long ago.
He could still quite remember his aggressivity as soon as he had seen his Saiyan armor. It was downright infuriating at first to see someone dressed that way on his planet, the one that had been invaded-- or well; they did try, to be precise.
The Saiyans had launched a strong and unexpected strike against the blue marble’s population long ago, and it was admittedly one of the few regrets the young man had ever experienced; that he had not helped or supported in any way. He wasn’t even there, but rather been off in his ‘adventures.'
He was just a guy looking out for chances of getting stronger. Training was obviously a thing, but he knew that he could get stronger somehow, he just felt it. Perhaps one couldn’t call it premonition but rather hope or confidence that most Saiyans had, although many others were just that proud to define themselves superior to others, Corn didn’t. Although he hadn’t learned how to sense energy like, a bunch of time later, he wasn’t that hard headed to realize when someone was that strong-- obviously to him, that was not a reason to give up. Later on,
Cornatto also learned how to sense Ki but it wasn’t like much had changed, he could only tell more efficiently and quickly and also have a better sense of his surroundings which was a lot handier rather than using other factors. Thankfully the Earth forces had been enough to repel them, but what now?
Apparently, they were about to face them once more, but not as Earthlings but Saiyans! Both the Empire and Alliance were stacked with powerful warriors, and he knew just how powerful Natto could be, he was sure that they could have won although he had never admittedly been in such a conflict as a war.
In a sense, it concerned him that he was likely to face Saiyans in a deathblow situation, but at the same time, he couldn’t wait for it! For him to fight so many warriors, it would be one of the most exciting battles he had ever fought before. He was evidently fired up, just like any other Saiyan would be.
Too bad there was a far more serious side to it, as to which side would ultimately win over the other. Corn was quite confident in the Alliance’s strength but admittedly didn’t know much about the Empire and within reason; he had only ever fought a few of them, never had he even seen the Queen before. Not in person. He could quite picture her, though, but had no idea as to how powerful she could be.
Was he at fault for this? Maybe. It would have certainly come in handy to know his enemies better beforehand, for Corn, it’d be just a random hole in the wall. He was aware that not all of them were even Super Saiyans, that was evident.
The Alliance itself had an impressive number of golden warriors within its ranks, but not everyone could manage to ascend that far in the most powerful warrior of the universe, most of the time, it wasn’t even a matter of ‘managing’ but rather of situation. Cornatto himself had transformed out of a burst of rage, frustration and many other raw emotions, but what about the others?
Did anyone ever unlock it out of desire? He just knew that even if it could be possible, it wouldn’t be that easy for someone to turn into a Super Saiyan like that. Perhaps he should catch the chance to ask Natto how he managed to transform himself one of these days, at the moment, he could only feel its lingering presence quite strongly within his energy. He couldn’t help but also picture them in his mind, not only that but also random memories of them, but it wasn’t the time for that.
His eyes wandered upon the Colonel, firmly listening to her instructions as he wondered what he was supposed to do at that point but could understand the concept as to why this was a temporary boost; it wasn’t a permanent feeling, it was almost like a bottle of water. It would eventually run out of it, and in their case, the energy itself served the purpose of enhancing a technique that, in the best case scenario, was already supposed to be powerful and honestly?
He could only wonder what would happen if there were more Saiyans in the room. The energy he had gathered was already incredible, and only the gods knew what sort of power he could have felt if there were a few more of them.
At that point, Cornatto was ready. His expression shaped up into a grin as he watched Karota using the technique herself on a bizarre name attack. Kamehameha? It didn’t quite feel like something that would come out of a Saiyan; most techniques had strong names, he didn’t even understand what turtles had to do with an energy wave. But, whatever! Its power was astonishing nonetheless, and he couldn’t help but get excited as he stepped with one foot backward and lifted a hand up to the height of his waist.
“Alright, I think I’ve got this!” - he exclaimed. His hand charged up with enormous amounts of energy at a quicker pace than usual before he sent it forth and then drew it back as a blue sphere made out of ki quickly formed in his hand. “Spirit of the Saiyans…” - he mumbled under his breath as the sphere unleashed a bright, teal glow from within its core before he launched his hand forward, firing the attack towards Karota.
“Giant Spirit Cannon!! HAAAAAHH!!!”
The energy cannon fired and clashed against Karota’s energy wave, both were incredibly powerful attacks, but there was a slight difference between the two as the technique eventually caught up and cut short the bright, blue wave, causing an explosion that would cause a little damage to Karota. On the other side, Cornatto watched with a firm expression, both teeth gritting against each other before the result became evident to him and there his expression relaxed and eventually showed a smirk. “Hehe! I think I've seriously got this,” - he said before his gaze shifted to his side and offered a thumbs up to Natto’s way. He looked once more at Karota with a broad smile and nodded his head.
“Man, this was tough, but we should fight some time seriously! I’ll make sure to have become much stronger than I am now by then. Thanks for the help today, haha. I think I’ll go and eat something! You guys feel free to come along.”
As the man expressed his last words, he lifted himself off the ground and slowly flew out of the building, offering a small wave just in case they wouldn’t follow. He didn’t know that soon; he would come not to see them for a long time… or even maybe, forever.
Cornatto used [ULTIMATE] Spirit of the Saiyans + [OT-3] Giant Spirit Cannon = 200% PL = 5.691.840 > 5,600,000 = 91.840 damage!
