It was still so strange to find himself on board en Empire’s mothership… and not just any mothership, it belonged to the one man he was sent to Earth to capture, Prince Athren. He had expected to fight the Prince upon their meeting, forcing him to return back to planet Vegeta for fear of his own torture if he failed to return without him… however here he was, now calling himself his ally and living on board his ship. It was thanks to the Prince’s kindness that he found himself here.
It was also thanks to that kindness that Komatsu now stood within his gravity chamber. The current gravity was set to 10x Earth’s gravity, an easy feat for anyone who had lived on Planet Vegeta or Planet Natto as those planets already had an increased gravity compared to Earth. None the less, Koma had spent quite some time on Earth so it couldn’t hurt the young saiyan to get some proper exercise in before increasing the gravity further.
He hadn’t had much of a chance to properly train while he was on Earth, and any fight he had actually been in had been one sided. Either he was completely dominant over the weak human race, or those that defended it’s people were vastly superior to him…
“I’m not going to be left behind… if Nasu can gain that much power in such a short amount of time… I can too… I’m sick of being the weak one… the one everyone steps on.”
He growled as he checked to make sure his weights were well clipped on before the young saiyan broke out into a run around the gravity chamber. He needed to limber up some, and there was no better way to do that then a good run.
He would run one lap after the next tirelessly, and as he reached his 50th lap Komatsu threw himself forward, landing on his hands and then flipping himself back up onto his feet. He would spin himself like this again and again for another 50 laps. From there, he would add in other odd exercises to get his muscles working and to properly warm up.
After his 1000th lap, Komatsu found himself once more in the center of the room, his breathing slightly laboured from all the running and exercise he had done. However, he didn’t slow down in his training, his hands began to glow a crimson color as he began to focus his ki into his fists. He closed his eyes as he fuelled more and more ki into them, feeling the energy build up grow and grow until the energy felt far more volatile that it had originally been.
‘Concentrate on your energy, manipulate it to do what you want it to do. I need more power, and so do my strikes.’
Komatsu thought to himself, his mothers voice resonating in his mind as he could almost hear her coach him like she had done back on Vegeta. Komatsu’s heart skipped a beat as he thought back to his mothers instructions, following them closely as he began striking at the air, fighting against an invisible enemy.
Komatsu barely realized that tears had began flowing down his face at the memory that invaded his mind. He also didn’t notice that he had struck his fist against the wall of the gravity chamber chamber until it was far too late. The built up energy of the advanced atomic fist exploded in brilliant crimson smoke, blowing a hole directly through the wall of the gravity chamber and the adjacent room.
“Oh shit…”
A sweat drop fell from Komatsu’s temple as he looked at the damage he had caused. If Athren came back and found he had wrecked his ship… ah hell he hadn’t even been here long enough to earn the prince’s wrath and get kicked out!
“I’m sure there are some parts around here I can use to fix this…”
The young saiyan cursed, quickly turning off the gravity within the chamber and running off to find pieces he could use to repair the gravity chamber.
Thankfully, his grand-mother had actually taught him a few basic things back on planet Natto… like how to fix the many holes created by the family when it came to their training...

‘Komatsu remember, while the Atomic Strike is a close ranged attack it’s meant to create some distance between you and your opponent. When you hit them and that energy explodes, you need to release the energy built up in your free hand as a Rail gun. It’s a quick attack your enemy won’t expect.’
His mother spoke to him in a kind voice as she stood in front of the young spiky haired Komatsu. The little boy had been wailing his fists against his mothers hands as hard as he could, trying hard to summon and use his energy like his mother instructed. His hands would glow red, and as he hit his mothers hand small explosions would push the small boy away from his mother. However when he attempted to launch a rail gun with his free hand, the energy would fizzle out and explode in his face.
Tomoroko never laughed at him, but she was always smiling as she tried to teach her son everything she knew. Through all his failures, Tomoroko simply smiled and walked up to him, wrapping her arms around him and holding him closely to her as she would pet his hair.
‘You’re still little Koma, don’t you worry you’ll get it. And one day, I bet you’ll be able to spar with your dad and win! You’re my tough little man.”
She would coddle him, kissing his forehead and attempting to leave her embrace. Komatsu however held onto his mother tightly, not wanting to let her go as tears streaked down his face. The little boy wanted to be strong, he wanted to be like Nasu and like his father… but they never payed much attention to him, they were too busy worrying about other things he didn’t understand yet.
